Lyos has always had it rough.
Since her birth, Lyos has always been the runt of the litter. As a child, she had been smaller than the average Wyrwulf, and following her cocooning process, smaller than the average Codru-Ji. This, in turn, made Lyos out as an easy target to kidnap by rival families, as was their customs. Many a ransom was paid or rescue efforts established to free Lyos, bringing her family shame and to ruin.
Were it not for these kidnappings, Lyos would not be who she is now. It was these kidnappings that led her to snap; to take matters in her own hands. She may have been the smallest, but in terms of mental intelligence, the other Codru-Ji were her lesser.
With her intelligence, Lyos meticulously planned her own kidnappings, but she wouldn't not play the same rules as her people would. No; Lyos was often rough with her victims, for inflicting pain and injury didn't bother her. In her head, she had been righting the wrongs done to her person, and to her family. Wrongs that, while they would achieve quick results, would force Lyos to exile herself from her home world of Munto Codru.
By mid-adulthood, an alliance of various Cordu-Ji families had found the "Demon of Munto Codru", desiring vengeance for the body parts their family members had lost over the years. Using her own family as bait, the alliance flushed Lyos out from hiding, and though she fought with all the strength she could muster, the Codru-Ji was forced to flee, lest her head be put on a spike.
Since that fateful day, Lyos has traveled the stars, joining whatever roving band of pirates, marauders or mercenaries happen to be nearby. No matter what shelter or friends she finds, however, Lyos is forced to abandon them before long, for, despite the Codru-Ji's isolation from the galaxy, her pursuers—Codru-Ji and bounty hunter alike—still remain, hunting Lyos for a large sum of credits.
Whatever trouble Lyos finds herself in in the future, though, she won't go down so easily like the child she once was. She's made sure of that.
