No, they are not.
The level system exists in Oubliette Online and is a way for us to measure the general strength of a person or creature.

Worth a try, I'd say.

I might make a character inspired by one of the known isekai archetypes. We already have the "Super-Tank", the all-defense and no attack champion, but there's plenty of more to go.
- A weak monster with lots of potential
- An intelligent object or construct
- A not so evil villainess
- And others I can't remember right now.

Alternatively I could use my idea of a woman who raises and tames monsters.

Just as fair warning, if you decide to go for a weak monster-type character, like say a Kobold or Goblin or something else like that, expect the world to be very, very mean to you. Especially humans and human settlements.

Constructs like golems or automatons are a no-go though. Unless it's somehting like, a person's soul got trapped/bound to it. But even then I'm not sure about the idea.

A not so evil villainess? What, like Naga from Slayers? xD

A beast tamer/beastmaster could certainly work though. Provided they tame beast-like monsters and not things like, say, ogres or giants or vampires and such. ^^

Here you folks go, while I work on the OOC - which I can't promise exactly when it'll be ready right now - you can go ahead and have a look-over the charater sheet template.

I'll even include an example character, so you get the overall gist of things in case any of you have questions.

I expected that much. This is your average isekai world, after all.

Speaking of Kobolds, are they draconic or canine in Oubliette Online?

Constructs like golems or automatons are a no-go though. Unless it's somehting like, a person's soul got trapped/bound to it. But even then I'm not sure about the idea.

Yeah, maybe it was a little too ambitious.

More like the MCs in Otome Game Isekais, where the main character reincarnates into an evil rival character in her favorite dating sim and tries to either avoid the bad ending or make the best of the situation when that happens.

In this context she could be a noble (or otherwise high class) girl who was supposed to marry a prince (maybe the crown prince of Palargia), until she ended up hitting her head. The formerly spoiled brat of a girl became an eccentric and friendly buffoon. Unfortunately the marriage didn't go through after it was decided that the prince couldn't marry a lackwit, not that the girl was that willing to marry anymore. Nonetheless her new personality managed to gain plenty of friends among the higher circle and was welcomed to the palace, although as a jester rather than a princess. The girl however is smarter than she looks, and has for years acted as the Crown Prince's eyes and ears in the court.

Or something like that. Needs refinement.

Class I'd say would be bard.

A beast tamer/beastmaster could certainly work though. Provided they tame beast-like monsters and not things like, say, ogres or giants or vampires and such. ^^

I'll keep that as an option as well. And yes, the monsters she tames are beast-like. Chimera Cubs, Cockatrice Chicks, Kirin Foals, that kind of stuff. Maybe a mimicling or the like on the side.

In general I think I'll take whatever the group shall need to "Balance the party". The weak monster would probably be a healer of some kind.

"Koboooooooooooooooooooooold!"

Both ideas would work well enough. It's all up to you and what you want to play. ^^
Just makes sure you pick something that you enjoy, rather than something you need everyone else needs. If multiple of you want to play similar characters, the same classes or whatever, don't be afraid to do so, there's no "we can only have one of each!"-rule here. :)

That's the thing. So many ideas I like go through my head it's hard to pick one, so I wait and see, where to go.

now iono much about isekai tings so im pulling all my reference from D&D; how married do we have to be to specific class abilities in D&D (could a Wizard take what would in D&D be a 8th level spell--which it would get at level 15--and use it at, say, level 11/12 for this game?)

Funnily enough, at level 20/120, we would only be level 3.33/20 in DnD.

Yeah, considering the leveling, we're probably not that bound to D&D or another system. More like we take inspiration from here and there while giving a little original touch.

No, they could not. That would be ridiculous, because that would mean that mages at level 20 would all be able to cast 9th tier spells, which is not only crazy, but also terrifying.
If you want to go with D&D logic, think of the level difference between the two settings. The typical max level for D&D is 20, whereas the max level for Oubliette Online is 120. As such, it would be reasonable to assume that you get a new 'tier' of magic in OO much slower than you do in D&D.
Of course, I don't want people to have to feel like total scrubs, you guys are supposed to be slightly stronger than average run-of-the-mill rank-and-file soldiers/wizards.
So, in the case of spellcasters, imagine that you get a new 'tier' of spells every 8~10th level, depending on how innately talented you are.

Alternatively, we could do something like magic tiers being progressively harder to reach, with tier 1 being available to any wizard of level 1~5, 2nd tier to those of level 6~15, 3rd tier to those of 16~30 and so on and so forth. I'm open to suggestions and ideas of course.

EDIT:

As @Chiro said. We're not bound to the same restriction or system, but at the same time, things have to be fair and reasonable. In a game where the max level is 120, it would be strange if you could do a spell like "Call Meteor" when you're only level 20 and haven't even come close to the end-game content yet. :P

Speaking of magic, what do you guys want or prefer?

Would you prefer a system like in D&D or Overlord, where all spellcasters advance through tiers or circles of varying power? Or do you want something more open like in an action RPG where you can pick stuff at random from a list, provided you have the level req for it?

I'm not too worried about the mechanics of the setting, myself. I'd just be happy to watch some guy from the real world figure out wtf he's supposed to do.

And also play my character, obviously.
