♦ The Coven ♦
[Physically like ten years old | Chompy the Alligator (Actual name the Pond) | Male]
Description: An Apparition named the Pond that, out of desperation, was placed into an alligator by Emily G. Reed and the rest of the Coven in her little class on sealing Apparitions. Since then, the Apparition has shown gratitude towards the Coven and became their "familiar" or something. He guards the Coven and acts as the team pet... but doesn't really talk a whole lot. Chompy takes the appearance of a six and a half foot long American Alligator Usually Chompy hangs out around the casino but sometimes hangs around the various members of the Coven.
Extra-Normal Ability: Abscised - The Pond The Pond, as an Apparition, represents the spirit of the beauty of, well, a pond. True to its name, the Pond can instantly create a pond where ever he is that grows in size the larger he stays in the area. Chompy can manipulate all water and, while in water, has super speed. Other people can have super speed long as they ride him or something. He has an instinctive knowledge of all waterways, which allows him to effortlessly travel from one end of Tampa to the other.
Extra-Normal Ability: Her only power is being at the right place at the right time.
♦ Paragon Labcorps ♦
"Splendid!"
[38 | Blake FUCKING Schmidt | Male]
Description: An eccentric millionaire that's the head of the Paragon Labcorp. He inherited the position from his father and pretty much just delegates the task to his underlings and takes credit for it. While he's having sex with his many secretaries. Blake is a tall, well-built man with black hair and a beard. He's very eccentric, grandiose, and has a mild God complex... and he recently just discovered the supernatural and wants to delve into that world.
Extra-Normal Ability: Currently has no powers.
[23 | Jenna Lara Lyons | Female]
Description: The young and mousy secretary of Blake Schmidt. She's one of his closet secretaries (other than the fact that they bang) and usually the one he bounces ideas off of. Jenna usually tries to keep his eccentrics under wraps and tries to at least make sure he's doing the right thing. Sometimes she feels like a glorified babysitter... as Blake allows her to do whatever she wants at work long as their "arrangement" is honored. Usually, she's playing Fortnite or Minecraft on the job and makes somebody "lower-ranking" than her do her work (usually Emily G. Reed) Jenna is a very short and mousy woman at four-ten and has red hair tied neatly into a bun and wears glasses.
Extra-Normal Ability: None.
[38 | Koda Makoto | Female]
Description: The other "go-to" Secretary for Blake Schmidt who usually plays off of his wackiness. Usually, Makoto not far away from Schmidt and if she is; then she's doing a personal errand for her. It doesn't matter what he asks because of another "arrangement" she gets paid like fifty an hour. What a deal. She always has a trademark smile on her face and is always joking and flirting with people. Makoto is a tall Japanese American with a fairly slim build and is always smiling.
Description: Phillis the frustrated and beleaguered wife of Blake Schmidt who was originally a model that Blake picked up when he was young. Phillis is a pretty tall Caucasian woman at five-eleven and called stunning by a large group of people. She had two children with the man but the pain of being constantly cheated on burns her. So far her husband has been caught up in so many scandals and other accusations that she had to delete herself off social media due to the harassment. It's all rumors, but Blake has been throwing a lot of money their way... and that's proof enough.
Extra-Normal Ability: Awakened - Pleasure Negating Field. After a chance encounter with Maya Choi, Phillis Awakened with the ability to create a bright pink light around herself that removes a person's ability to feel physical pleasure. It doesn't work on Extra-Normals due to Emotional-Fields but unfortunately, it works on Blake just fine.
♦ Dollhouse ♦
[36 | Luis Gabriel Cox | Male]
Description: The leader of the Dollhouse organization, former organ trafficker, and current boogeyman. Luis was formerly a hitman in the employ of the Russian mafia, whenever they needed someone to disappear Luis was that man. He used to make "good use" out of the people that he killed by selling their organs. However, he had a debt that he owed them and they turned against him, sending men to kill him. When Luis was dying, she came, Hemorrhagia the Apparition. She offered him a deal that she couldn't refuse; give her annual blood sacrifices and she would grant him immortality. Suddenly, Luis became a boogeyman within the criminal underground (Luis the undying they called him) and the black market... where he used magic to change the game. He assembled Doll-House with the sole intention of building a new organization of criminals and black market dealers. Luis is a very cunning and ruthless man but he takes no pride in killing, and he prefers to avoid it unless absolutely necessary. Hemorrhagia on the other hand is a similarly power-hungry Apparition that wants an army of Abscised at her beck and call. Luis is a tall and slender man at six-five and has lots of lean muscle packed on. He's Half-Spanish, Half-Caucasian and has a man-bun and a beard. Likes to wear white button-up shirts. Hemorrhagia, on the other hand, is a being comprised of blood and takes the form of a female with constructs made out of blood floating around her.
Extra-Normal Ability: Affixed - Vampire-King. Apart of the deal that Hemorrhagia made with Luis, she has granted him one of the strongest healing factors in the setting. To put it simply, Luis is more or less immortal and will simply instantly heal from any damage provided nothing is obstructing him. Cut off his fingers? They'll be back in the blink of an eye. Stab him? He pulls out the knife and it's closed. Cut off his head? Well, it'll regrow but he won't have any memory. Apart of his deal, he was granted immense physical strength and agility, as well as the ability to grow claws. He's physically one of the strongest members of the Doll-House. Luis can also donate more blood to Hemorrhagia in exchange for more power, and apart of his aura sensing allows him to sense blood.
[32 | Natalie Texas Parts | Female]
Description: A former Marine that enlisted at a very young age but left after two contracts and retired to Florida due to dissatisfaction with the Marines (Despite that she flexes about being a "Devil Dog"). Natalie became a Miami-Dade sheriff... a dirty one at that. She would turn the other way or someone would disappear for the right price and become heavily involved in the criminal underworld. Primarily the organ trafficking... and once she discovered her Adept Heritage she was drawn to Luis the Undying. She became the second in command of his Dollhouse organization and acts as the security guard for him. Natalie is a usually tough, loud-mouthed, and sarcastic woman that gives little thought to class or tact. She curses constantly and talks a lot of shit... and she's a huge gun nut (her channeler is actually a gun). Natalie is a short (about five-one) Caucasian woman with brown hair that always wears a cowboy hat for some reason. She always has one of her two revolvers on her if she doesn't have.
Extra-Normal Ability: Unknown.
[26 | Zara Taylor Young | Female]
Description: Zara is a relatively recent Apparition that was originally merely a secretary for Paragon Industries. She was forced out of her body after being deceived by an Apparition and became an Apparition herself. The wandering spirit drifted from place to place looking for a new body... until she joined the Dollhouse and got a new body. One that was a trillion times better than before, but she stuck around with them out of appreciation for giving her back her humanity. Zara has zero compunctions with working with monsters and stealing people's bodies out of sheer frustration for losing her original body and due to her powerful Abstraction, Luis keeps her close. Zara's current body is a really tall and lanky Caucasian woman with black hair and many ear piercings.
Extra-Normal Ability: Unknown.
[Centuries old | Heinrich Thòrmer | Male]
Description: An associate of Hemmorrhagia and the Apparition of a Nazi scientist that, in time, lost his faith in the whole Nazi thing. However, what he didn't lose was the fact that he was one of the greatest scientific minds in the worlds and after becoming an Apparition all he was interested in was science. He wants to use magic to expand the fragile limitations placed on science. The Mannequin found himself joining the Dollhouse and became Luis' third in command. The Mannequin has long lost all humanity and sees humans as mere tools at best and test dummies at worst. Because of this loss of humanity, the Mannequin doesn't even use a human body... but instead inhabits a strange human-sized doll with white hair and feminine features and a whole in the center. While it may appear feminine, this doll-like body has no face. This body looks like it's made out of ceramic and he walks in ways that makes it look like he should fall over. Whenever he talks, he speaks in a quiet whisper.
Extra-Normal Ability: Apparition - Telekinetic-Soul When Heinrich died he became a living telekinetic force, a localized telekinetic storm you could say. It took him decades to master this ability but he can force his soul into a vessel, a human body or a doll-body, and perform all sorts of insane feats. First off the Mannequin is a telekinetic being that can manipulate the environment around him with mere thought. He can't exactly flip cars but he can launch a knife fast enough to put it through someone's skull. The Mannequin can use his telekinetic soul to move his current vessal, the Mannequin-Doll, in any way he can think of and he uses this to walk on walls, disassemble himself and manipulate each part, fly, and other fun tasks. The Mannequin's body does have tons of knives hidden...
[21 | Johnny Jason Valos | Male]
Description: The Pusha man himself, Johnny Valos was a spoiled brat that used to have it all, being the son of a local casino and entertainment mogul. However, Johnny crossed the line and ended up getting booted out of the Valos family fortune. That's cool because Johnny got himself a brand new hustle; the Dollhouse. He's one of the few people within their ranks that they haven't abscised, and boy he's trying to avoid that fate. Johnny is a quick-talking, arrogant, prick that thinks that he owns the world. Though, he's getting fed up with this constant Extra-Normal bullshit, being the hero of another story, and just wants to chill with some bitches. Johnny himself is a six-five, half-black, half-Cuban male that is a pretty slim build, he thinks himself as the sexiest man alive. Despite his arrogance, he does have a soft spot for friendship and values his family - and has an instinct like no other that tells him when shit's up. Also, Johnny's a gun nut and augments his gunplay with his abstraction.

That was before she ran into Hemorrhagia and she was given a purpose in Dollhouse... after she got a body that she liked. Since then she's working as an enforcer in Hemorrhagia's growing army of Abscised. Rosie Owens' current body is a tall, red-haired, curvy woman that was some soccer mom that went on vacation in Miami and got abscised.
Extra-Normal Ability: Unknown.

She learned this "witchcraft" in the shadows of her people, before she was found out and brutally killed. However, her apparition lives on and continues her plan to learn and master her new abstraction. Greta Faust is most likely Hemorrhagia's closet ally given how powerful her abstraction is. Faust possesses a a short woman with dyed red hair and glasses that was a girl that was attending a festival in Miami.
Extra-Normal Ability: Unknown
[8 | The Body Weaver | Female]
Description: A relatively young and recent Apparition that was formed from people's intense desire to look perfect even if it isn't possible. The Body Weaver originally went around granting people the body that they desired before it was nabbed by Hemorrhagia and given a body. The Body Weaver inhabits the body of a curvy African-American woman with an afro and many piercings that was kidnapped from a club. The Body Weaver isn't the most talkative of the Dollhouse but she is by far the most useful.
Extra-Normal Ability: Unknown.
[21 | Sharon Emily Reid | Female]
Description: An Apparition that has a lot to answer for in her own opinion, Sharon Reid was a native of Farmer Hill that suffered from a wide range of... behavioral issues. She was the daughter of John Reid, the town's guardian... who she killed under the belief that he was a serial killer that murdered her mother and little sister. However, the truth was that her mother was the serial killer that was corrupted by the Glutton, and it wasn't until she died that she found out the truth. That she had murdered several people in the name of a simple lie, before she met her own end at the hands of Penny Lawson. However, her grief, guilt, and regret allowed her to return as an Apparition... and through Hemorrhagia's smooth-talking she joined Dollhouse and got a new body. The body of some girl who isn't even from the Miami part of Florida, more from the Floribama panhandle who was a meth addict who got snatched and eventually bought by Dollhouse. Sharon Reid's current body is about five-seven, skinny, and has dreadlocks mixed with her natural hair. The girl has a lot to make up for, but she wishes to get out of Dollhouse's debt because they're not great people.
Extra-Normal Ability: Abscised - Swarm Form. Sharon Reid gained a version of her abstraction in life, which was the ability to dominate the minds of insects and control them. However, as an Apparition, she is a living swarm of insects. At will, Sharon can transform into a massive swarm of flying insects that she can use to rapidly travel around the environment and dodge attacks. The swarm is treated as one large entity so it can't quite split up into a bunch of smaller swarms but it can slip anywhere that has cracks large enough for insects to fit through. The Swarm is a mixture of bees, flies, hornets, butterflies, beetles, etc, etc, and it can easily kill a human being.

She has a hard time actually shaping metal because any attempts to shape will cause it to be horribly bent and deformed... unless it's a blade or sharp object.
"Lord knows I've been trying to do the right thing."
Description: Meifeng's best friend and a resident of LA. Cindy always had big dreams and after the death of her father when she was 18, Cindy decided to join the army. She served one contract active duty (As a 42A) where she met her husband, Francis Jean-Pierre. Since then, Cindy has worked for the Reserves where she earned her degree and joined the FBI (actually in the DENS). Cindy works for both organizations and has become an officer in the reserves and it really made her into a leader, which brushed off onto her best friend Meifeng. Cindy herself has kept in relatively good shape and hasn't aged all that well. While she's not as big of a fitness nut as Meifeng she is still in amazing shape for having a sun. Cindy can at least boast that she has a bigger butt than her friend. Tragedy struck Cindy and Meifeng, and she's been denying promotions to desk work to stay by Meifeng's side - only to keep her safe.
Extra-Normal Ability: Afflicted - Glass Curse. Cindy was cursed by an Apparition known as the Fragile Goddess. At it's basest level the curse is all about transforming whatever Cindy touches into glass at random, but she learned how to control her curse. She can now, at will, instantly transform an object into glass and create glass constructs from the environment around her.
"We'll find a way, I promise."
[27 | Maximilian Alexander Cornell | Male]
Description: A DENS agent posing as the FBI that's under the wing of Agents Meifeng Liao & Cindy Keagan. He's an absolute mountain of a man at six-five, muscular, and has broad shoulders. He's incredibly kind, good-natured, and always tries to do the right thing... even if the right thing isn't always the best choice for everyone. He rushes from A to B with little consideration or maneuverability, but he's been learning how to slow down. However, he's been getting acquainted with the supernatural.
Extra-Normal Ability: Awakened - Collective Awakening Maximilian is apart of a collective and thanks to the planning of Meifeng he got his hands on the full abilities. Thus, Maximilian is more or less one of the strongest Awakened in the setting.
Rocketeer. Maximilian's personal abstraction, it's more or less flight that launches him in a direction of choice at insanely high speeds. He can outrun most other fliers and fortunately, he can control how fast he can go, at the cost of not being able to maneuver.
Position-Locking The abstraction that belonged to a busy bee that just wanted to slow down. Maximilian can, at will, completely lock his current position in place and negate all momentum and kinetic energy. This can allow him to hover in one spot if he pleases and works well with his rocketeer.
Emotional-Field Attunement. Maximilian, at will, can adjust his Emotional-Field and render himself almost immune to a certain type of Extra-Normal damage (Say fire, blunt force, etc, etc). Only for Extra-Normal attacks, though, a normie can come in and stab him in the kidneys.
Transmutation-Beams Maximilian believes that this is probably the most powerful ability apart of his collective, probably even among the Awakened. He can fire blue blasts of energy - usually in the form of beams - out of his hands that changes matter from one form to another. For example, he can turn stone into air, air into water, and so on. It's only limited by his knowledge but it has no direct effect on Extra-Normal beings.
Crystal-Generation. Maximilian can create blue crystals from his body that are hard as far as gemstones go but brittle. He can create them in any shape he desires and fire them in like spikes. He can create dramatic structures relatively easily.
Impact-Force. Maximilian has the ability to augment his strikes with immense magical energy, causing an explosion of force. This will allow him to shatter steel and breakthrough defenses quite easily.
"Buckle up, lassie!"
[25 | Sonya Summer Mayfield | Female]
Description: For a secret Agent, Sonya is eccentric, bubbly, and overly kind and compassionate. Her bubbliness greatly contrasts with the rest of her team. She's just another special agent and she really adds levity to the group with her attitude. Usually Sonya is a relatively short woman at five-two with a head of blonde hair and is in pretty good shape. She was in the military as a 19D and one of the best shots there... until she joined the FBI. Married to Maria.
Extra-Normal Ability: Afflicted - Amphibian-Form Sonya was nearly sacrificed to a Frog-Apparition-God-Thingy and she came out of the experience with the ability to shift into a half-frog, half-human. She can shift into a form where her eyes are massive, her hands and feet are webbed, covered in slime, and she has a massive mouth full of teeth and a tongue that is strong as steel. She can jump higher, regenerate (even limbs), camouflage herself, swim extremely fast, enhanced senses, an extremely strong bite, can survive being frozen solid, and can even change genders.
"I'd watch your back if I were you...."
[24 | Maria Mayfield (Nee Costello) | Female]
Description: Sonya's partner in crime that she met in the army, the two eloped and eventually got married. Now they serve as partners in the DENS and have been assigned to Meifeng's special task force. Maria is a significantly taller Spanish woman at five-nine with dreadlocks tied into a neat bun. Maria was a cook in the army unlike Sonya's sniper... and she's the cool-headed one to her more excitable side. However, Maria is very sarcastic and plays off of the weirdness with a flat affect.
Extra-Normal Ability: Adjoined - Ink-Demon. Maria has been adjoined with an ink Apparition and can, at will, shift her form into a mass of ink. She can more or less limitlessly shape her body in this state and with the power of color-changing; can imitate pretty much anything. She can also create massive amounts of ink and manipulate it elemental style.
"Secret aaaaaaaagent man!"
[23 | Trevor Kevin Obott | Male]
Description: The other youngest member of the DENS team lead by Meifeng Liao. He's the jokester of the group and really enjoys getting a rise out of the rest of the team... however, his results don't lie and he synergizes well with the rest of the team. He's more or less the hacker or computer specialist of the team that usually doesn't go out on field missions... that has changed. He's visually distinct because he's extremely feminine with long hair, and no facial hair - standing at five-five..
Extra-Normal Ability: Awakened - Laughter-Inducement. Trevor's abstraction allows him to sense when somebody is about to attack and cause them to break out into uncontrollable laughter. This is strong enough to bypass the Emotional-Field and the stronger their desire/intent to attack, the harder they'll laugh. However, it doesn't work if they, y'know, are already attacking.
"I can see all."
[28 | Leon Walter Vahan | Male]
Description: Maximilian's partner (in crime, friendship, and the DENS). He likens himself to a cowboy... he's usually calm, rarely yells, and always maintains the utmost professionalism. If he isn't currently screwing with somebody that is. Leon is the tallest member of the group at six-nine and is in pretty good shape. He usually seems out of it, with a cigarette, toothpick, or whatever long he can find in between his lips.
Extra-Normal Ability: Adept - Cyan & Red. Leon's an adept that usually uses a katana to cast but Meifeng and the rest of the team talked him out of it. Now Leon uses a collapsable Baton as his channeler. Leon is a sight-based Adept that allows him to create glowing red "eyes" in the environment around him that allow him to see stuff. Using various spells he can see into the minds of other people, the future, and other abstract concepts (like pain.) The red side of his Lux manifests in his ability to fire glowing red lasers out of his eyes that leave painful burns.
Extra-Normal Ability: Affixed - The Flock Helena made a pact with an Apparition known as The Flock. It takes the appearance of thousands of birds that are a glowing blue color that she can command. They are a bitch to face in a straight fight and can do thousands of different tasks at the same time. She can also see through them.
♦ THE GREENWOOD COVEN ♦
[26 | Frederick Rick Wheeler | Male]
Description: A member of the Greenwood Vampire Coven and a certified redneck. He's been converted by the leader of the Coven known as "Pa" but he has his own agendas. Frederick is more or less the leader of the Greenwood Coven and he uses them for good things: Like buying drugs, getting drunk and acting a fool, and other shenanigans. So far Frederick has been the subject of at least nine different Florida Man articles. He's a pretty tall young man at six-five and is... not the best built. He's got a gut and what doesn't help is his nasty beard, but if he opens his mouth you'll see his fangs. Currently, he works for Blake Schmidt.
Extra-Normal Ability: Afflicted - Vampire Frederick has abilities consistent with the rest of the Greenwood Coven: He's strong, fast, tough, can regenerate, and access a stronger bat form.
[23 | James Evan Evans | Male]
Description: Probably the less disgusting of the three. James is usually a shirtless man that walks around in nothings but jeans or jorts, but he's pretty short at like five-four. He works out a lot so he's pretty in shape, but it's probably the drugs that keep him busy. He thinks himself as the brawn of the three but he's actually the wild card. Due to all the drugs he takes he does some real crazy shit and has been subject of more Florida Man articles than everyone combined. If he didn't take drugs he'd probably be the most competent of the three, but Florida does things to people. Works for Blake alongside Jordan and Frederick.
Extra-Normal Ability: James has abilities consistent with the rest of the Greenwood Coven: He's strong, fast, tough, can regenerate, and access a stronger bat form.
[19 | Jordan Trevor Burke | Male]
Description: This crayon eater is Jordan Burke. The youngest and probably the stupidest of the three. He follows Frederick because he's lonely and lost all his money simping for strippers and Instagram thots. So he deals dope with the rest of the Greenwood Coven. Unlike the other two; he doesn't take drugs so would have an excuse for being batshit crazy. But his brand of crazy is Florida-bred and while and he's the subject of twelve Florida Man articles (One for stealing all the cats out of an animal shelter). Works for Blake alongside Frederick and James.
Extra-Normal Ability: Jordan has abilities consistent with the rest of the Greenwood Coven: He's strong, fast, tough, can regenerate, and access a stronger bat form.
♦ The Forgiven ♦
"Embrace enlightment."
[42 | Luther Damon Saul | Male]
Description: The leader of the "Forgiven". A "new religion" that has swept the nation, yet it's mysterious. They claim that they "worship the true form of God" but many just call them a cult. A cult that's dangerously gaining power. Luther Saul himself (many just call him Saul) is a man that claims that he was defeated so thoroughly that he was on the brink of taking his own life. However, he discovered the joy in finding God's true form and he seeks to spread it. He's a bit strange, but he's charismatic and an excellent leader... and he may have a heavier hand in the supernatural than some would believe. Saul is a very short man at five-seven and always has his hair well-groomed and is always dressed nicely. Saul is recently a bit more paranoid and has fled from South Carolina to Florida... and a strange string of brutal murders following him.
Extra-Normal Ability: None to speak of, this man has accepted a different kind of power into himself.
Description: Saul's right-hand woman as a prominent member of the Forgiven and Dean's husband. She used to be a drug addict on the streets of New York before Saul "saved" her and gave her a new life. That life lead her to her husband Dean and the two have been happily married for years now (though some rumor that it was an arranged marriage). She's five foot tall even and has a relatively slim build with oddly broad shoulders. The woman usually wears suits and other fancy things. Like Dean, she's seen some times. And like Dean, she knows some things that simply cannot get out.
Extra-Normal Ability: None.
[Ancient | Is above such concepts | Genderless]
Description: The Messiah is a strange behind that's the force behind the Forgiven, and the person that Saul answers. The Messiah answers to a strange higher power and only the highest-ranking members of the Forgiven know that they even exist. They're a short being at around four-five and speaks with a child-like voice... that seems to be a mixture of a male and female voice. The Messiah's features are hidden behind the oversized and ornate white robe that has golden symbols all over it. The Messiah has requested that anyone not in the Forgiven refer to them as... The Speaker.
Extra-Normal Ability: Unknown, they were able to face off against Annabelle causing immense collateral damage.
♦ Strange Beings ♦
[20 | Annabelle Candy Heart. | Female]
Description: The mysterious and dangerous figure that has been obsessively chasing Saul from South Carolina all the way to Tampa. Leaving behind a trail of destruction that has made her a target of several different people. It doesn't matter as Annabelle wants to kill Saul at any cost. Most of her features are hidden behind a black robe with a deerskull mask. She's immensely tall at seven feet tall and smells horrid. Underneath that black robe is something completely disconnected from humanity. She has sharp, needle-like, teeth with sunken eyes and strangely angular facial features. Her body is long, nearly-skeletal, as she doesn't have a hint of fat or muscle and should collapse in on herself after taking one step. Annabelle only has scraps of hair on her head and her hands and feet are freakishly long. There's a part of her that wants to stop, but the other part of her knows she can't.
Extra-Normal Ability: Afflicted - The Hunger. The Hunger is a curse that Annabelle accepted into herself from a Wendigo apparition. The Hunger is an obsessive compulsion to consume human flesh and by consuming humans Annabelle gets stronger. At this point, she has eaten nearly a thousand people and is one of the strongest beings in the universe. She has titanic strength, amazing speed, and most threateningly of all, she can regenerate from almost any form of damage in a few seconds. And she's only getting stronger. Annabelle, worst of all, is a conductor for the Hunger, and any Blind that get near her will become a flesh-eating monster as well. Annabelle has a second form that is even stronger than her current form.
[18 | Sophia | Female]
Description: A figure that always follows Annabelle where ever she goes. She claims that she's trying to help her end this violence but Annabelle hasn't been listening. It's questionable if Sophia is even real and not just Annabelle's conscious telling her to stop or something. Either way, she takes the appearance of a happy girl with a trademark smile, slim, and long brown hair.
Extra-Normal Ability: Unknown.
[Older than creation itself | The Hound | Uses male pronouns]
Description: The Hound takes the appearance of a massive, wolf-like, being that is made out of a black smoke. He has bright, shining, red eyes, and is always accompanied by a black fog. It's hard to say what size he is because he's always constantly changing size. It's unknown what he is, or what he wants, but he seems to visit those in dreams, warning them that he's going to come after them if they don't come willingly. Naming himself an agent of death, he comes after those who he says "cheated death," and promises to set things right. He doesn't seem to exist outside dreams, but there are stories of those going into the woods and seeing a giant black wolf. A wolf that leads them to a dead body... or some interpret it as a portent of death.
Extra-Normal Ability: The Hound has many, many different abilities, it's main ability is the black fog of Apathy in which it can shape into any form and use as a form of telekinesis. The Hound has demonstrated regeneration, teleportation, and immense physical strength.
[Ancient | Has no name | Female or female presenting]
Description: The Outsider is an absolutely ancient Apparition (or something, nobody knows) that crawled out of one of the many alternate universes out there and is the scourge of all that know about it. Everyone is afraid to talk about it to the point where many instinctively try to avoid thinking about it in fear of attracting her attention. The Outsider takes the appearance of a relatively short woman with blue skin that reveals an orange fire underneath it. Many are horrified by its mere existence as the Outsider singlehandedly wiped out entire universes. Fortunately, somebody sealed it inside of something and tossed it in a swamp and only an absolute idiot (or someone unaware of its true nature) would let it out.
She/Her | 22 | Caucasian | 5'8ft | 147 _______________________________________________ Power _______________________________________________ Skills & Talents "Show me everything." ___________________________________
Tennis ⫻ Emily was quite passionate about Tennis back in the day. Her footwork, reflexes, and speed are quite good along with her skill. She doesn't play it as much - but whenever she gets the chance, she stops by a tennis court and practices (At times, plays some scrubs at it).
Spanish ⫻ In school Emily learned how to speak Spanish, and is a native of Florida she knows how to put it to good use.
Extra-Normal ⫻ Apart from her nature of being affixed to an Apparition that's existed for eons, Babylon is willing to share everything she knows about the Extra-Normal. What types of beings are out there and what sort of supernatural fuckery she can get into. Most importantly, Emily knows how to seal Apparitions, a skill that she uses well.
Appearance ▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔ "I'm a doll."
Emily is a girl that seemingly took a complete one-eighty in terms of appearance and demeanor. She was never ugly, but before she usually had her hair tied into an unflattering bun, never wore makeup, had nerdy glasses, and usually dressed conservatively. Recently, after her pact with Babylon, she decided to try something a little different. She now lets her hair out into a long straight mane that goes all the way to her back, wears makeup, and dresses well for her figure. Along with ditching the glasses for contacts or better-looking glasses. One would say that she caterpillar to a butterfly. The girl has a confident aura with how she constantly walks with a smile on her face... but it's the kind of smile now that she's happy, that she's the best person here. That she knows something that everyone doesn't, and that betrays the nature of what would be a normally flirty smile into a dangerous one. Every time she speaks, she seems like she's speaking down to other people. Always in the same condescending tone and sometimes never makes eye contact with them (but she never seems to make eye contact with anyone). Even with authority, she's still dismissive as always.
Into her appearance, Emily is part French-Canadia and part a bunch of other stuff. She seems to take primarily after European cultures in her face, but few know can tell. The girl has a square jaw and a very pronounced nose and most notably blue eyes. Her skin has a few scars but she tries her best not to get more and usually hides them under makeup. Emily is a bit taller than average at five-eight, she almost stands up there with the boys. She doesn't exactly have a supermodel body, being lazy and shitty genetics have caused her to pack on a bit of weight. She has a bit of a gut that sags and it definitely doesn't look all that flattering. However, Emily has been working to lose this weight and be a supermodel (it just ain't easy). It feels like most of the girl's fat went straight to her chest, as she has a 38D cup size (She never admits this but one is bigger than the other), but the world's second flattest behind. Usually, Emily dresses pretty fashionably wearing Nike, tights, and whatever clothes that she thinks makes her look the best. Sometimes when she goes all out she decides to wear a dress... her favorite a bright green dress.
Psychology ▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔ "Let the world fear us, this is just means to the end."
MAIN GOAL ⫻ Emily G. Reed and Babylon have two completely different goals but they're helping each other. Emily G. Reed wishes to lift the curse that is on her sister - along with removing any Extra-Normal threats that are out there by force. Not out of altruism, she's just trying to protect herself and other people from them as she believes prevention is better than the cure. Babylon, on the other hand, has the long term goal of living up to her nature as an Apparition: plunging the multiverse into a chaotic mess of violence, hedonism, and sin. For various reasons (she claims that she's doing it because she pities the girl) she's helping Emily.
WHAT THEY WANT OUT OF THE COVEN ⫻ Emily wants to form a group of people with similar interests as her to help take out the malicious Apparitions and find somebody to break the curse on her little sister.
PHILOSOPHY ⫻ Truth to be, Emily doesn't give a shit about philosophy or anything of that mind. She usually says that it's a waste of time and she doesn't have one. However, Emily's actions and words, once analyzed, portray one: self-indulgence. All her life she was bending backward to make everyone around her happy at the cost of her own - and now she wants to make herself happy. Screw morality and other people, she just wants to get what she wants, however. She believes that she has to be heartless, ruthless, or people will step all over her.
SECRETS ⫻ Well, she doesn't go around announcing that she's affixed to a demon, that's for one.
SEXUALITY ⫻ Emily is straight, but Babylon is what Emily calls "Omnisexual". Babylon constantly urges Emily to be the same way for "power" but Emily just thinks that she wants her to be a "Slut-Ghost".
FEARS ⫻ Emily, ultimately, fears making the bad call. She suffers from some confidence and self-competence issues that prevent her from fully making the right choice. Which is why she usually relies on other people that she trusts to do it for her. Which ends up being Babylon a lot of the time (who fears nothing btw). The girl fears to be powerless in any situation and makes sure that she's constantly in control. She also has mild Scopophobia... she has a hard time looking someone in the eye before it starts feeling awkward.
REPUTATION ⫻ As for Babylon she's feared across the multiverse as being a terror and the most cunning and evil thing in the known universe. Some believe that she's the one that'll end all the worlds. And she's affixed to Emily G. Reed. A nobody in the grand scheme of things and is known for being spineless, though that's probably what Babylon is counting on.
FLAWS ⫻ Emily, again, has self-competence issues deep down. Even though she has made strides, she's better suited as the follower than the leader. She feels like she'll make the bad call and end up making a mistake that'll embarrass her. The girl is a hedonist and is ruthless in getting what she wants, and she has a habit of making enemies. She also has self-worth issues and tries hard as possible to seem like she's better than the people around her - by putting them down anyway necessary. The girl also hates feeling powerless and out of control and has mild control freak tendencies - she always has to be in control. Not mentioning the fact that she's affixed to Babylon, the being that probably has a huge amount of people that want to kill her.
Backstory ▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔ "Don't worry about where I came from, worry about that I'm right here."
The story of Babylon has been lost to time - or at least that's what Babylon says. She's an ancient Apparition from one of the many alternate universes out there and she gives usually one story. She claims Babylon originated in the 1600s in a town overcome with lust, violence, and monsters, and a Preacher's intense desire to find something to blame created an Apparition. This Apparition ended up spreading her belief and power to all corners of the Earth where she became so powerful that she was a threat to the universe as a whole. It came to an end when she was sealed in a different universe, but decided to cause trouble in order universes.
Since then, Babylon has existed for millions of years - in chronological time, as every universe ages differently - terrorizing reality where ever she can get her hands on. She was Affixed and Adjoined to many, many, different humans and was even an Agent to some and Abscised a few people. Her abstraction changed constantly so much that she forgot what her first abstraction was, but she kept a few core abilities. She has done so much that she honestly forgot and only seeks to reach the heights of powers that she had reached before through any means necessary. The Apparition was known as one of the League's greatest enemies and rolled with the illustrious Thorton Walters a few times... but on and off as she found him dull and their plans almost never intersected. Some believed that Babylon would, through her foolishness, end the multiverse.
However, that came to an end when Babylon was tricked into entering Shimmer where she lied dormant as there was no Godforce there. Babylon slept for ages before she ended up returning as the Glutton was defeated. The only problem was that the belief in her was gone and she was rapidly fading. So out of desperation, she affixed herself to a child and that only lasted as long as she found a better host...
... Emily G. Reed.
Now Emily didn't have a special type of upbringing. She had two parents (Amber and Austin Reed) and two sisters (Miranda and Jacqueline Reed), went to school, had friends, and didn't suffer any tragic backstory! Though some stuff kinda sucked - there was always something... off about Emily. She didn't socialize with people that well and was relatively reclusive, but she was always trying her best to make friends. She thought that maybe if she's nice they'd like her better and eventually tried taking that to it's extreme. Throughout the years she did favors for everyone and always shared and put other people before herself. However, this ended very poorly for Emily; people simply took advantage of her kindness, but she had a hard just wrapping her head around it. She made a lot of mistakes and the people she thought were her friends peered looked down on her and insulted her because of it. So for years people just treated Emily like trash and she just took it. Mainly because she wasn't all that confrontational or always made some type of excuse in her head to avoid confronting them. It was to the point where some people would have to stick up for her. Still, she had a few friends that saw her as a person, so that counted for something, right? Let's ignore all the pent up rage and frustrations that began to grow in Emily.
The only solace that Emily had was in her family, the rest of the Reeds. She had a close bond with her two younger sisters, even though they kinda had their moments of rage. They were more proactive and confident in themselves than their older sister and they had plenty of fun (which, in Florida, isn't that hard to find). Emily was very protective of her sisters and did everything she could for them and they, in turn, did the same. She wanted to succeed, for them.
Emily graduated high school and went off to the University of South Florida in Tampa - not too far away from home. It was where Emily studied Psychology, and minored in Propaganda and got her first boyfriend: Rip Vanburen! He was so dashing, nice and appreciated her! She also kept in touch with her sisters, but that changed. And in her spare time, she got a glorious job in a grocery store as a cashier. This is where things started getting a little bad on Emily. Her bosses weren't exactly the best business runners out there and legitimately didn't care about Emily. Despite wanting shifts at night or whenever she didn't have classes they just gave her shifts whenever and extra hours. She tried to put her foot down but she didn't have the strength to resist it.
This caused her grades to drop as she tried her hardest to maintain her social life. Even though all of this was taking a toll on Emily, and it got worse when it turned out that her boyfriend was sleeping with another girl. Emily was betrayed and fell into a spiral of depression... one that she didn't care enough to stop and rest. She stayed with her boyfriend Rip even though he was cheating on her and she stopped talking with all of her friends and sisters. Though, everything changed one night when Emily decided to try something - anything to get out of this slump. She confronted the girl that her boyfriend was sleeping with Magnolia Rose, and it ended in a fight between the two that Emily lost. Horribly.
Waking up in a ditch without her wallet, Emily went home and barely felt like getting out of bed. After getting bugged by her bosses to come into work (when she told them she had class) she managed to force herself out of bed and took the bus ride there. However, that was when things changed.
That's when she met her.
Babylon, she called herself, was affixed to an infant and saw how Emily was doing and decided to help her out of pity. At first, Emily thought that she had finally gone mad and tried to ignore the Apparition that she was affixed to but Babylon kept at it. When she went to work, Babylon kept tempting her to stand up for herself and was ignored. This kept going for months until Babylon decided to resort to more drastic measures to get Emily on her side. When Rip and Emily went out on a date, eventually the subject of his cheating came up. Rip honestly didn't care and was dismissive of it all... until Emily snapped and punched him across the face. He laughed it off as Emily kept hitting him more and more... He got scared for his life as her strikes were inflicting serious damage and he was screaming for his life. She got a look at her hands and realized that they were claws and she realized that she transformed into a monster without realizing it.
And Babylon laughed. The two escaped from the scene as Emily was reverted into a human and she was horrified at her actions. However, she felt some kind of enjoyment out of punishing Rip for his actions - as fucked up as it sounded. She finally felt something that she needed to feel: power - and that was everything Babylon needed to hear. She told Emily that, through her power, she can make everything perfect. Emily was reluctant but was willing to give it a try - anything to get out of this depressive slump.
If nothing else, she wanted to make her bosses pay for their actions of taking advantage of her, treating her like meat... so she had Babylon treat them like meat. Babylon cast a spell on the two of them and forced them to make love to each other in the office. All under camera... to say the least, the authorities were called and there was a vacant seat. One that Emily herself was reluctant to occupy, but someone else took it and with a little threatening, she got everything that she wanted. Then she found that bitch Magnolia... and apologized to the girl for her past actions and told her that she can have Rip all to herself. Meanwhile, she got the hours and shifts she needed to complete her classes without bending backward.
And so, in less than a week Emily was happy again, however, she felt like this wasn't what she wanted. She felt a twinge of boredom with her life now, sitting around in classrooms and working in a shitty grocery store. When there were magic and adventure out there, but truly Emily finally understood the power that Babylon boasted about. She wanted to do more with it than sit on her ass but didn't know what. After years of putting up with everyone's bullshit and trying to please them, she decided that it was time to find her happiness.
Especially with Babylon around. The Apparition planned to plunge the world into violence, hedonism, and wanton lust - and Emily wasn't exactly sold on helping end the world. And Babylon understood but knew the two would find a common language. The two were alike in ways that Emily, at the time, didn't understand - and Babylon had some sort of affection for the girl. Emily tried to live her life in some semblance of normality but Babylon warned her, regardless of what happened: she was a flame that attracts the moths. Other Extra-Normal beings would come after her and eventually come in contact with them and have to face them.
Things were fine for a year. She graduated with her major and... ended up with a job as a secretary for Paragon Labs. And she eventually went back home as she tried to decide where she was going to go next. However, everything changed one night when her sister, Miranda, frantically woke her up - telling her to go help, Jacqueline. There was an Apparition attached to her that was sucking the life out of her... and Babylon couldn't help but chuckle as Emily got heated. A fight ensued between the two which ended with Emily driving off the Apparition... however, Jacqueline was afflicted with a curse that was slowly killing her. Babylon finally explained why she was laughing: Emily was, like she said, the flame and the apparitions and other beings were the moths.
At this point, Emily was about to cast Babylon out, but the Apparition explained that she was the only thing helping her... which she asserts is out of pity. She told her of all the ways that she could break the curse, primarily finding the Apparition. Which Emily set out to do, along with a different goal... she realized that there are threats out there to herself and her family that she can't ignore. This is why, to prevent things like this from happening again, Emily set out to destroy all the Apparitions and other Extra-Normal beings she deems to be a threat. Every night she set out and moonlighted as a "demon hunter", ruthlessly hunting them down and sealing them into objects.
Eventually, Emily set out to find other, friendly, Extra-Normals so they can figure something out. And that group of other Extra-Normals became the Coven. Emily was one of the founding members of the group, discovering them on Reddit and even lead the group for a while. Of course, that didn't end well.
Abstraction ▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔ "Master of puppets..."
TYPE ⫻ Awakened.
ABSTRACTION ⫻ Telekinetic-Tether, the ability to create glowing telekinetic threads from her fingertips that can control a person's body or manipulate objects.
ABSTRACTION DESCRIPTION ⫻ Rooted in her desire to control people (Namely the rowdy Coven), Emily gained the power to do just that. From her fingertips, Emily can create thin green glowing threads that she can stretch around six meters. These strings more or less give Emily access to a telekinetic ability... except, unlike true telekinetics, she has a few other abilities that make her stand out. To get into the nitty-gritty, Emily can create these strings and mentally influence their direction and make them do whatever she wants them to. She can curl them, twist them, and do advanced techniques like making a little knot (... despite how pointless that would be).
Emily can create ten tethers, one for each finger. However, she can attach these tethers to objects and people and more or less gain a telekinetic control over them. Most notably, she can attach them to people to completely control their motor functions. However, she needs to attach at least five (One to each limb and their head) to a person to control their movement. And she does this by flexing her fingers and their body moves in response. She can freely control them in this radius and pretty much makes them do whatever they want. Emily can fully control two people at the same time, but she can affect ten different at most (She won't be able to do a whole lot). Just in case you were wondering: yes, they are conscious the whole time and aware that they're trapped in their own body. It doesn't work too well on Extra-Normals, however - And by that, I mean at all.
The other thing that the tethers can control are objects when attached. When she attaches her tethers to objects she can do the traditional telekinetic stuff to them, pull, twist, push, bend, etc, etc. Each tether can lift to fifty pounds, and by attaching her tethers to the same objects can allow her to lift heavier objects (at the cost of being able to lift fewer objects) to a total of five hundred pounds. There's a little thing that Emily can do with the tethers is by attaching them to objects she can move herself. This is strictly limited to pushing and pulling herself in relation to the object.
The final thing that the tethers can do is slice as if they are piano wire. They are sharp as a razor blade and are thus, only capable of cutting the objects those would cut. She has a few methods of doing this; by touching stuff with the tethers and withdrawing them slicing flesh, wrapping them around a limb and quickly squeezing, or whipping someone with it. Emily can only cut through soft materials and attempting it on something harder would only, at most, leave a scratch.
AURA SENSING ⫻ Emily's aura sensing is somewhat unique as far as seeing auras go. Emily can see the threading between people, as in their relationships. It technically works as far as the eye can see but it works best up close where she can focus. If two people have an interpersonal connection then she can see it, and more importantly how strong it is - that manifests in how thick the thread is. Loose acquaintances would be a thin, nearly impossible to see, string. New friends would be a more visible wire, and things like close friends/lovers and family would be a thick strand. More importantly of all, Emily can see if there's tension or strain because the thread would be damaged or missing pieces if so.
LIMITS ⫻ Now to repeat what's already been said: the Extra-Normal are immune to her ability. Primarily the body control, but she can slice through them just a little less effectively. The max range of her ability is around nineteen feet and she just can't affect anyone that's outside that range. If she manipulates something and its max range, guess what? She's going with it. Emily can exert her influence on ten different people at a time, but she would only be able to use her abstraction on one limb. She can best control two people at a time. Each strand has a weight limit of fifty pounds, but by attaching more strands to the same object she can lift more... up to all ten strands and thus can max at five-hundred pounds. The ability is, of course, linked to her stamina and thus can thus drain her by overexertion.
WEAKNESSES ⫻ Emily herself can be manipulated by the strands if they're pulled. If someone grabs them and yanks them, they can pull Emily with them. It's especially easy if the strands are at maximum range. What's else is that the strands can be cut with so much as a slash from a knife (but Extra-Normal attacks cut through them much easier). They can also easily be destroyed by elemental attacks such as fire and electricity... fortunately, they can't be destroyed by brute force.
TYPE ⫻ Aberration (Affixed)
ABSTRACTION ⫻ Execration, Babylon can create curses and cast them out as spells to affect Emily, the environment and other people.
ABSTRACTION DESCRIPTION ⫻ Babylon is an ancient Apparition that has existed in many universes and in many different forms. She was the embodiment of all the evils in the world and that reflects in her abilities. Particularly, her abstraction has shifted so many times that she can hardly remember what her even the first one was (or she just doesn't tell because it's not important). Her current abstraction reflects a phase she spent as a sorceress after abscising someone. She has access to many different "Curses" that she can fire from her hands. Each of these curses in the physical form takes the appearance of Babylon's sigil and depending on the curse glows a different color. They can travel fairly fast through the environment and once they make contact with an object or person the will be cursed (or afflicted) and the sigil will float above it. Depending on what it hits will change the properties of the curse (Curses that hit the environment are an area of effect ability, while curses that hit a person tend to affect that person, and each of the curses gives Emily a different ability).
The Curse of Unending Flame ⫻ The curse Babylon casts out will have a bright red aura around it, almost like a fire. The Curse of Unending Flame is, like the name implies, a fire curse. When the spell connects to a person they'll instantly burst into flames and will constantly burn as long as the curse persists - possibly burn to death as the flames seemingly won't end unless extinguished or the target is killed. If the curse is connected to the environment it'll cause glowing cracks in the ground, which will shoot jets of intense flames for a few moments before they disappear. Applying the Curse of Unending Flame to G. Reed, however, affects similar to a heat-proof shield. She'll be completely immune to fire but she'll have a certain effect on fire and objects. Objects that burn real easily like dead leaves, clothes, etc and flammable liquids, will combust in her presence after a certain amount of time - they'll instantly catch if she touches it with her hands. The other effect of applying the curse to herself is that fires burn much hotter and are much more volatile around her - along with being a lot harder to put out. This ability naturally synergizes with other pyrokinetic along with applying the curse onto the environment.
The Curse of Horrid Form ⫻ This curse has a yellow glow around it. It's a curse that Babylon's is (in)famous for and probably the one abstraction that she started with. The Curse of Horrid Form has a few particular effects that make it easily the most dangerous curse in the right hands. If a person is struck by the curse; they'll become an Afflicted and become half-animal. Whatever animal they become is symbolic to their personality (a scared person may become a mouse, an angry one a bull, etc, etc). Usually, these horrid beings get the strengths and weaknesses of said animal. However, the curse causes them to be cast out of society as a freak as they'll be desperate to break it (the only way to break it is for Babylon to break it). Casting the curse on the environment will cause an explosion of energy that'll trigger a mass transformation - albeit at a much slower rate.
Applying the curse of Horrid Form to Emily, however, causes her to transform into a wolf-woman. Her mass will increase (to the point where she adds on a few inches), her teeth will grow sharp, her digits will end with claws, and she'll be covered in silver fur. In this form, she's faster, stronger, tougher, and her sense of smell is on par with a wolf.
The Curse of Lust and Hedonism ⫻ The curse of Lust takes a pink glow around the sigil. The curse of lust is probably the most malicious of the curses in Babylon's opinion as it overwrites free will. If the curse is cast on a person, the only thing on their mind will be pure and unbridled lust. They're going to try to bone the closest person in sight and if they say no they'll try the next one until they say yes. They'll keep having sex until they either die or Babylon breaks the curse (though she finds it amusing to watch someone fuck themselves to death). If the curse is cast onto the environment it'll cause an explosion similar to the Curse of Horrid Form and whoever is hit by it will be compelled to have sex with the other people who have been hit (if only one person has been affected then the curse will instantly break).
If the Curse is applied to Emily, it gives her a different ability: shapeshifting and persuasion. It, first and foremost, alters her appearance depending on the person she's targeting. Shifting her appearance into their ideal person, and afterward, she'll find herself to be very hard to resist. Just by being in her presence will make them gradually more and more aroused as their lips will do anything to get her to take her clothes off.
The Plague of Flies ⫻ Curse of flies makes the sigil glow with a turquoise aura. The Plague of flies is the one curse that Babylon says can end lower technological civilizations. Once the curse is cast, an absolute horde of flies will appear and swarm whatever. If it's cast on a person, then they'll be swarmed with the flies as they'll be assaulted by the deadly swarm. They'll try to force their way inside of their target's orifices and eventually suffocate them if the curse isn't lifted. The Curse of Flies, when casting onto an environment, creates a massive swarm of flies so thick that it can't be seen through. The flies won't target or damage anyone for that matter, but they'll obscure the environment enough so that Emily can escape. The Curse of Flies, however, when applied to Emily seemingly has a detrimental effect: the flies will swarm her from head to toe. However, the flies will act as a symbiotic organism that'll clean her body off dirt, clean out her wounds, clog wounds with maggots to slow down bleeding, and if she needs to get away they'll form a cloak for her to get away.
The Penance of Greed ⫻ The Curse of Greed makes the sigil glow with an orange color. The curse of Penance of Greed is stated, by Babylon, to be as fun as the Curse of Lust and Hedonism. Applying the curse to somebody makes them overcome with intense greed and changes their goal to gather as much wealth as possible. Whether its money or other items that they believe has value. They'll steal, cheat and kill to gather the wealth, but the curse comes with a stipulation: the more wealth they gather the more they'll turn into gold. It's to the point where if the curse isn't broken they'll turn into a golden statue forever (even after the curse is broken). When Babylon casts the curse on the environment it'll create an explosion that'll curse anyone caught in its radius - but the effect won't be as powerful as cursing one person. Applying the curse to Emily, however, turns her into a moving gold statue that's shiny, durable as gold, and much stronger.
As for Babylon herself: Babylon isn't particularly strong but has the strength of a grown man. She can also float around and stuff due to the whole Apparition thing, but can't travel that far away from Emily.
LIMITS ⫻ Now, you might be thinking that Babylon is the most overpowered apparition in the world. And you'd be right... if the RP was more about normies. You see, due to the Extra-Normal's resistance to each other's abilities they won't be all that effective against them. They're not completely immune to them, but certain people who are aware of the curses can resist them. Just to get out of the way, the Plague of Flies, The Curse of Lust and Hedonism, The Penance of Greed and the Curse of Horrid Form can be resisted (unless they actually want the curse). If an Extra-Normal being is cursed, it'll usually wear off after a set amount of time. The Curse of Unending Flame can be directly used against the Extra-Normal but it'll wear off in a few moments and the flames will disappear and the fire won't indirectly cause a lot of damage. Babylon can also only utilize one curse at a time if she wants to use another one she has to lift all the curses that are currently being used. The Curses can be cast as far as the eye can see but go fast enough that even the most unfit person can dodge them. Of course, Babylon is an apparition with free will that's only attached to Emily. She doesn't directly control her and Babylon and her, at times, have very different goals. So that sucks given that Emily wants to control. Babylon can only travel about four meters away from Emily.
WEAKNESSES ⫻ Each curse has a way to break or a drawback. When the curses are applied to a person or place, Babylon's sigil will float above it - only visible to the Extra-Normal. The Sigil can be physically attacked and damaged by the Extra-Normal and destroying the sigil will break the curse. The Curse of Unending Flame is countered by - you guessed it - water. Throwing water on the cursed will instantly break the curse and the curse is also countered by everything else that would naturally snuff out the fire. Also, Emily isn't immune to stuff like smoke or fire itself if she doesn't have the curse cast on her. Speaking of casting the curse on Emily, the fire has the habit of destroying her clothes so she doesn't like using it. It's very destructive and unwieldy and tends to injure G. Reed herself, so it requires caution. The Curse of Horrid Form isn't practical to use at times as there's no way for Babylon to control the transformation, so just using it for the fuck of it will create a half-human mountain of rage right on top of her, or gunning for her later. Applying the curse of Horrid Form to Reed will cause a painful and lengthy transformation that can leave her vulnerable to damage. And it's painful both ways. The Curse of Lust and Hedonism will wear off if the person doesn't have any sexual contact in a short amount of time (about a few minutes). The Plague of flies can be dangerous for Babylon as killing a bunch of flies somehow can cause her physical damage. Finally, applying the Penance of Greed to Emily makes her incredibly slow and in agile because gold is heavy material and one good electric shock will knock her out. Babylon also isn't that good of an up-close fighter, as she's frail and very weak physically on the standards of Extra-Normal. If you can get close, you can take her out without the use of an abstraction.
There's also the fact that Emily is attached to, more or less, a demon and the social stigma that'll come from it even from other Extra-Normals.

STEM Major ⫻ Madison got her degree in STEM and is proud to boast that she learned the degree... however, she only got a bachelor degree instead of the master she wanted. Still, she knows the subject well.
Extra-Normal Knowledge ⫻ Madison saw the incident that went down at Farmer Hill with her own two eyes (well, sort of eyes) and had an expert in the Extra-Normal tell her some stuff. She's ready for the plunge into the dark work of magic.
Dancing ⫻ Madison, for her little Instagram page and job, is an excellent dancer... in the risque way.
Appearance ▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔ "I'm hiding all manner of sin, baby, come and enter."
The young Madison Brown is quite striking, standout in both ways she can and cannot help. The main thing that comes to mind is that the girl is quite tall. She's not freakishly tall but she's almost six feet tall and stands at the male average tall and stands proud. Madison walks with confidence and pride with every step, and her voice speaks the same way. Though, she's usually glued to a phone of some sort or seems distracted. The girl astonishingly enough has a rather deep voice for a female - it is not to the point where she sounds masculine but she has a deep, mean sounding voice. She speaks with a thick Philadelphian accent and usually litters her vocabulary with slang from that area. However, the girl is quite friendly and is prone to smiling and making jokes and is quite energetic.
The girl works out a lot and is thus in great shape - she mainly does it for her job. The girl is far from muscular but you can tell that the girl doesn't sit around doing anything which accentuates her curves. It is hard to tell but the girl has a 42F cup size, nipples pierced, but she keeps it hidden underneath her clothing very well. Most people won't even notice that she's bigger than average unless she decides to show it. What she can never hide is her behind which she has to wear jeans a few sizes bigger just to hide. It's something inherited from her mother it seems.
Madison dresses with usually the latest styles but never wears a designer or anything like that since its simply out of her budget. She likes to wear Nike and Adidas track/sweat suits, jeans, sometimes walking around in tights and if the weather permits it leather jackets. Madison is African-American to her very core with large, rather thick lips, curly hair that she straightens, and brown skin. The girl is apart of the Afro-punk movement and it shows with her attire. The girl has her head shaved except for the hair on the center of her head forming a mohawk, has many piercings all over her body, and wears leather jackets and dresses "punk" for show.
Besides, the girl has many, many, tattoos all over her body. She has been smart to keep it sure that her tattoos are covered by her sleeves and no tattoos above the neck. The tattoos were the result of many, many, painful different sessions that she, again, mostly does for show. The tattoos are various African patterns that are sleeves on her arms, legs, and upper body. Madison is almost literally a canvas of different tattoos. However, on her stomach there's a hideous scar... one going from her waist to her chest is stitching scars as if there was surgery on her. Most notably it's on both sides implying that it went through her body.
Psychology ▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔ "At some point; I asked myself if I was a good person and I honestly can't answer it."
MAIN GOAL ⫻ Everything Madison does is to try to get over the events of her cousin's death. Everything. Though she wants to enter the world of the supernatural and the occult. After what that crazy girl Kimberly told her everything she knows and loves has been thrown into doubt - most importantly the event that changed everything. Now she wants to know if she can dive into the supernatural to correct things in her eyes and fix the glaring issue she sees. At any cost.
WHAT THEY WANT OUT OF THE COVEN ⫻ Madison, after finding the Hound, mainly sticks with the Coven out of companionship. She wants to fall into the world of the supernatural to achieve a particular goal of hers.
PHILOSOPHY ⫻ To Madison Brown she has a simple philosophy: live for herself and live without doubts or regrets. The girl believes that life is far too short to be holding onto grudges and to be worrying about past mistakes. Madison wants to remove the ugly out of her life and that is the way to living life perfectly. She honestly sees herself as a hypocrite because innately she doesn't even follow her little guidelines and has been holding onto to her numerous past mistakes. It's merely a guide and merely how the girl presents herself as. There's also her little belief that bodies are beautiful no matter how they come and should be shown to the world - and encourages other women to follow this doctrine.
SECRETS ⫻ Well, Madison moonlights as a stripper to get some extra money. First, she found it dirty and shameful but now... she's starting to like it. The money, the attention, and it has innately shaped her body image. The other secret that Madison has that is far, far, darker is the fact that she died in the previous timeline and was resurrected by her cousin sacrificing herself.
SEXUALITY ⫻ Madison Brown is asexual, in the past, she didn't really have much of a desire for sex even though she was fine with it. She tells people that she likes making them happy, but otherwise has no special desire for a sexual relationship. Some people wonder why she dresses suggestively or is even a stripper, but she asserts that she likes exploring her body and showing the world that she loves the way she came out and implores others to do the same. That said, Madison is completely fine with dating either gender and is fine with sex if the person is right.
FEARS ⫻ The girl fears the inevitable revelation that she was responsible for her cousin's death. Every day she has gone to whatever lengths but she's starting to realize the ugly truth - regardless of who's fault it or not. Madison fears her inevitable fall from grace and falling into a deep abyss.
REPUTATION ⫻ Madison Brown is a rather well-known Instagram model that likes to post suggestive pictures of herself along with posting motivational speeches. Some people bring up her past bullying and her other actions and there's been a growing base of people criticizing her. There's also the elicit side in which she's a very well-known stripper but keeps her identity hidden.
FLAWS ⫻ Madison is broken and no amount of therapy or medication is helping. The death of her cousin, being attacked, being exiled from her family and then learning the truth about her cousin's death is weighing down on her. More one hit and the girl will probably shatter in ways that she can never heal from. The girl is attempting to deal with all of these stressors any way she can but they're not working
Backstory ▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔ "It's... all a lie."
To begin Madison Brown was born in Philadelphia in one of the more impoverished areas of the city. Both of her parents worked at separate times, her dad during the day and her mom during the night, to support the family so they were hardly together at the time. Madison had a little brother named Samson and the two were relatively close... Samson helped Madison whenever and Madison gave him advice on how to talk to girls. However, this wasn't the person that Madison would form a bond with - it was her cousin Jordan Nichols. You see the girl lived a few blocks over and the two were best friends from even a young age, and they did everything together and what they didn't do together they told the other about. As they grew up they grew apart a little bit but with cellphones entering the picture they text each other constantly. Though, as they grew Madison entered the more popular cliques of their highschool through her good looks and connections and eventually became the queen bee.
Madison wasn't quite a perfect angel and neither were the popular girls and to be one of them you weren't expected to be. Through peer pressure, Madison did things that, by her admission, she wouldn't have done without her friends goading her into it. They bullied people they felt were inferior to them by insulting them, and sometimes even physically attacking them. Over time, Madison became more compliment with the actions and thus more comfortable bullying people. It ended with a few people filing complaints against her but they were all dashed. Madison didn't care that she was hurting people, only that she had friends and on the weekends they turned up at the mall, parties, where ever. It was perfect.
Though, Madison decided to rope her cousin, Jordan, into the group merely through connections alone. Her little cousin wasn't as pretty as her but they brought her in with open arms. Eventually, they were all set to go their separate ways; with Madison and Jordan heading to Grand Ridge Academy in Montana. It was far away from what they were used to... but Madison figured that it was time to get away from Philadelphia. However, Madison and the gals decided to go on one last night out to celebrate.
They were going to turn Philadelphia upside down and they gathered everything they needed. One girl got a car, another got them some fake IDs, while Madison used her connections to get them plenty of liquor. Then they went out and had a banger drinking, going to clubs, and doing whatever the hell they wanted as they felt like they owned Philadelphia. It all went wrong in one instant... Madison was the only one who didn't get drunk as the group's designated driver. Still, she was high off of dopamine and adrenaline and was speeding through the streets of downtown Philadelphia. Trying to show off, Madison tried to run a red light to beat a speeding car...
... and failed to beat it.
The car went directly into them and they went spiraling. They hit a car before crashing and Madison was impaled through the stomach with a stop sign... which went through Jordan's skull. EMTs came in and cut the traffic sign and rushed her to safety, but Madison barely remembers it as it was all a blur. Eventually, she lost consciousness and woke up a few days later sans traffic sign in a hospital bed. She was kept there for a few days but later found out that Jordan had died. It was... the saddest day Madison ever had.
A few months later Madison was released from the hospital but when she got back to school everything seemed different. All the popular clique wasn't talking to her and Madison realized the effect that she was having on the people she bullied. Madison realized it wasn't all fun and games... and after telling her family they couldn't look her in the eyes anymore. They barely even talked to her and only gave her food and a place to stay before they told her that she had to leave when she graduated high school. They didn't care how, but they couldn't stay with them anymore. Those were the most cutting words that Madison had ever heard.
And to make matters worse, the people that she bullied banded together and brutally beat Madison so badly that she ended up in the hospital for a while. It was strange being attacked, but she felt like she deserved it for everything she did. Madison graduated and then went off to Farmer Montana's famous Grand Ridge Academy. She wanted to get a STEM degree and worst comes to worst she can go into the military. However, Madison could barely act the way she used to do and was forced to get therapy (that was the least her parents could do). She was haunted by dreams of the incident and the death of her cousin, every time she went to sleep she woke up either screaming or in a cold sweat. The girl was withdrawn and could barely finish her degree. That was when the massive earthquake began and almost flattened Farmer Hill. Madison was one of the survivors, fortunately, and now she was unsure of where she was going to go from here.
However, Madison came across one of the survivors of the incident, a white girl named Kimberly Walton. The girl seemed to be oddly interested in her and eventually said that she was best friends with Jordan. After punching her in the nose for toying with her, Madison started thinking and eventually heard the girl out. That was when the two were placed inside of a recollection where Madison was shown everything. The battle against the Glutton, the world of the Extra-Normal, and... the existence of the old timeline. That on its own wasn't all that special, but Jordan Nichols was alive in that timeline and fought against the Glutton. And Madison Brown was the one that died, but Jordan made a deal with the Hound so that she would come back to life in exchange for her soul. The revelation that magic was real on its own would change anyone but with what she was told...
The girls exchanged contact information and Madison moved onto the next station of her life: The University of South Florida. She decided that Florida was more her speed and that she needed to start again somewhere else. Things were fine, Madison kept visiting a new therapist and then she found new people. Eventually, to pass the time, Madison began looking up African-culture Instagram pages and found out about a festival known as Afropunk. It was... different, but the kind of different that she felt that she needed. She thinks that she needs to change above all else and decided to attend it.
The girl ended up loving it and how African-Americans were expressing themselves with alternative ideas. Madison became a fan of the movement and ended up shifting her style a bit towards the Punkish, but more importantly, she wanted to attend similar events. This made Madison a festival-rat as she attended all these events dressed like a punk and other alternative costumes and took pictures of herself and put them on social media. Her Instagram page started gaining some traction and Madison decided to use this to become an Instagram model. She found validation through digital likes, but it truly felt empty. Madison pressed on anyway as she worked out to get the best body and used donations and other such things to get money. So she can take even more pictures, make videos, and whatever else - it was insane!
Though ghosts from the past started to bark yet again and Madison found that her follower base was depleting because of her past bullying. Out of desperation, Madison's pictures became more risque and she started attracting a different audience. They came back as they lusted after her body... and Madison decided to take a different plunge. It was a hard choice to make, but Madison's looks allowed her to become a stripper at a high-end club - taking the name Liberty. First, she thought it was the most degrading and disgusting thing but... she started to like the attention the men were giving her. Saying all sorts of things to get into her pants - but she only entertained them enough to get their bills. Along with making her more money than ever before as she was able to attend parties and other high-end events.
However, things weren't the same and Madison still felt like there was something she really should be directing her attention towards... and eventually, she decided to plunge into the world of the Extra-Normal herself. Even though she had nary a clue as to how to go about it; she just wanted to find the mysterious Hound, the being behind all of this. Except she was told that the Hound only appears to people with Extra-Normal powers and he was a very powerful threat on his own. Madison remembered she still had that girl Kimberly's contact information and gave her a call and she gave her a more in-depth look at the Extra-Normal.
Madison wanted powers like Kimberly and the others but didn't know how to do it - Kimberly warned her against attempting to gain an abstraction because it can be... dangerous. However, if she wanted to do it; Kimberly told her about a store in a small town off the highway about an hour or two away from Tampa. An antique shop that Kimberly goes to that she says should have something for Madison. Sighing, Madison entered the racist ass-backward of rural Florida and ended up at the shop. Managing the shop was a woman named Patricia Howard and she said that Madison had a "troubled aura" and Maddie, in turn, told her about Kimberly. The woman told Madison that she sold charms and other trinkets with power and normally Madison would call bullshit but she was willing to believe anything that this point.
As Madison touched the various charms and realized that Apparitions were sealed inside of them. Known of them were truly interesting her, as they were about healing and Madison wanted strength to brave the world of the Extra-Normal... and Madison eventually touched a charming T-Rex shaped keychain and she heard a deep, monstrous, voice in her head. The Apparition inside introduced itself as "The Jaws" and told her that it had a power stronger than any other and will lend her its power if she completes "The Rite of the Jaws". Interested, Madison bought the trinket, went back home, and then touched it.
Suddenly her mind was taken to a massive, seemingly endless jungle... and she was being hunted by the Jaws in the shape of a massive, dinosaur-like, creature. The Jaws said to complete the Rite, Madison has to kill him. The first attempt didn't end well with the Jaws defeating her in straight combat near effortlessly... and then Madison was sent back and told to try again. For the next few weeks Madison tried to defeat the Jaws only to fail again, and again, and again... and only when she started thinking like a predator was she able to defeat the Jaws and gain his power.
And it was great as it boasted - granting her the ability of flight among other great abilities. So this was the first step of her quest to find the Hound... she saved enough money to last her a while and she also had her roommates to help out. So now Madison is after the Hound. A friend of hers, Emily, roped her into a "Coven" and she eventually became one of the founding members.

TYPE ⫻ Aberration (Agent)
ABSTRACTION ⫻ The Jaws, an Apparition that can summon dinosaur bones to protect herself from harm, grant her strength, and allow her to fly.
ABSTRACTION DESCRIPTION ⫻ The Jaws is an Apparition from a different universe spawned from the death of dinosaurs, that was sealed inside the keychain. The Jaws is a very straightforward Apparition that usually doesn't speak more than a few words at a time, but he's particular about lending his power to a human. Only those who complete his "Rites" can use his abstraction and Madison has proved herself worthy. The Jaws is an ancient Apparition that represents the rage of dead dinosaurs and he can spawn a mass of dinosaur bones. Given that he's an apparition, the bones that Madison can summon are transparent, dark-purple color, and look ghostly. When Madison channels the power of the Jaws she'll be surrounded with a skeletal forcefield that wraps around her and floats about two feet off of her skin. It's a mass of different dinosaur bones (legs, ribs, claws, skulls, etc) forming a shell around Madison. It's quite a messy sight with various mouths, claws, tails, and other limbs sticking out of it that are still functional. It's best described as an armor and it'll be completely invisible to the Blind until it comes in contact with something. The Jaws is durable enough to stop most physical supernatural attacks in its tracks and is more or less immune to physical attacks from the blind.
Now, while the Jaws usually form a shell that conforms around Madison she can shape the jaws to a small extent. She can't completely shape it and it'll still end up looking eldritch, but she can do things like form a wall out of bones and how many extra limbs she wants to create. This will cause a bit more energy and it'll be easier to just manifest the Jaws in its basic form. Madison can shape the Jaws in the form of a complete dinosaur skeleton if it was practical. Most notably she can summon claws to augment her attacks. The barrier created by the jaws grants Madison a form of super-strength via the usage of a mild-telekinetic ability. It augments her strength while it's active and allows her to do things that she normally wouldn't be able to do. It gives her the strength of beasts and allows her to crack stone, throw people around, to lift a man one-handed and carry people while she flies. However, she finds this very straining. Most notably the limbs that she summons have a bit of this strength and she can it to grab objects and attack people (Slashing, mauling, etc, etc) - but functionally it's like a short-ranged form of telekinesis. Besides, Madison doesn't have to summon the complete barrier and can just spawn an arm or two.
The final part of Madison's powerset is flight, as the jaws can summon skeletal wings around Madison (that can be seen). This isn't a traditional form of flight however as it's augmented by telekinesis and it allows her to move any way she can think of. She can hover, glide, and fly up to thirty miles per hour, and its independent from the barrier (I.E she can fly if it's not activated or has been destroyed). In effect, the Jaws grants a more or less an off-flying brick with some telekinetic abilities.
AURA SENSING ⫻ The Jaws prides itself on being the All-Verse's most dangerous and persistent hunter. It's aura sensing acts as a form of enhanced smell... once it catches a whiff of someone's aura it can begin to track them. A trail follows them where ever they go that Madison can follow but the further away they are, the vaguer the trail will be. If the target is more than eighty meters away, then it'll be damn near impossible to see. She can only track one person at a time.
LIMITS ⫻ The Extra-Normal's resistance to each other strikes yet again. Any attack Madison uses through the Jaws is weakened somewhat. Along with the fact that Extra-Normal attacks are far more effective against it. The main issue with the Jaw's bone barrier is that the bones that comprise it can be broken under enough stress - one super-strong punch can break part of them and leave an opening. It'll take a few minutes for the barrier to correct itself or she'll have to sacrifice protection elsewhere to cover that part. It can also take one or two bullets (some higher-powered weapons will break through it instantly) before that piece breaks and she'll have to sacrifice the overall strength of the barrier to fill in that hole. It can withstand a beam attack a little bit before the barrier crumbles and breaks. The barrier also doesn't do too good against liquids and gases, for something I'll talk about in the weakness section. While it's an off-telekinetic ability Madison has a harder time grabbing stuff given the nature of how the barrier manifests around her and any limb she creates won't be any different. While Madison can go pretty fast, she's sacrificing maneuverability and the faster she goes the harder a time she'll have making turns.
WEAKNESSES ⫻ There are a few weaknesses that greatly limit the effectiveness of the Jaws. First and foremost: impact. Unlike other examples of flying bricks, it's not an ability that enhances Madison's body but instead acts as a field around her. Or better yet armor. The Jaw's barrier may be able to stop a super strong punch but she'll feel the impact of it hitting her and knocking her around. If Madison hits the ground it'll end in some broken bones at best. Given how the Jaws forms a transparent barrier around Madison, this greatly limits her vision as she'll be seeing everything through a blurry purple tint. Next is the nature of how the barrier is created... it takes the form of a mess of bones. These bones leave openings that certain attacks can get through, and does jackshit against elemental attacks like fire, air, and water. There's also the fact that Madison is stronger than the Jaws are tough and she has the habit of shattering the bones that comprise the barrier. Flying around is also not pleasant because she gets vertigo, nausea and has the wind against her face. Such fun.

Madison drives around a black Ford Explorer... a new model that she's going to be paying the car note on for years (Fucking ten percent interest rate). She has a nice apartment somewhere in the northern parts of Tampa that she lives in with Claudette. The woman she offered to live with her. However, her rent is high as fuck and she's always a bit strapped for cash to pay off these expenses.

Large view. _______________________________________________ Claudette Jones
Social Worker ⫻ Claudette has a master's degree in social work from the University of Chicago! She knows a lot about her subject and can act as the therapist for the Coven in case shit goes south.
Bilingual ⫻ As a native of Montreal Claudette is fluent in French-Canadian and she can also fluently speak English.
Artist ⫻ Claudette dabbles in art from time to time, she can sketch and paint pretty well but she uses her artistic talent for making seals.
Sealing ⫻ Claudette knows how to seal Apparitions and has sealed several before.
Appearance ▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔ "I will keep on running."
Claudette is definitely somebody you couldn't miss even if you weren't looking for her. She's tall, slim, and has a poofy afro of natural hair on top of her head. The girl also has some various masculine features about her which could throw the first person who looks at her into doubt. For starters the girl is six feet tall even and that's tall even for male standards, and her body is slim and straight. Distinctly lacking in any type of curves - her chests and behind are concave, her waist isn't that slim, and her shoulders are somewhat broad. Claudette's face is the most feminine part of her it seems, but her jaw is somewhat square and boyish. This isn't a point of contention, but it's something that Claudette embraces with open arms as apart of her identity as being gender-fluid. The girl isn't that muscular but she definitely tries to keep in the best shape possible in order be her best. Though after what happened, she has been doing a lot more running and doesn't exactly keep on top of things like her makeup and her other features.
Claudette is African-American and proud, she's a mixture of several different African-Nations which results in her skin being a very distinct, dark-brown and would-be-black-if-few-shades-darker skin tone. Claudette's lips are large and glossy and her hair is afro-textured. The girl dresses in modern fashion with jeans, sweaters, and other such name brands such as Nike and some designer brands, but she seems to dress to cover as much of her body as possible. This is because she's hiding many scars from beasts and other creatures. They are hideous and they're all over her body from monster attacks that she survived. She carries around a strange book, however. There is not an inch of her body that's tattooed, pierced, or otherwise marked.
The girl also speaks with a slight French/Canadian accent.
Psychology ▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔ "I got to do anything to break the curse."
MAIN GOAL ⫻ Break the Curse so the Apparitions can leave her alone and she can live her life. That life is in the life of a social worker. Maybe getting revenge against the bitch that cursed her in the first place.
WHAT THEY WANT OUT OF THE COVEN ⫻ Claudette wants to use the Coven to find some way to get out of the Curse. However, she's wondering if she should dabble a bit in the supernatural.
PHILOSOPHY ⫻ Claudette takes a page from Albert Einstein and says that her life philosophy at its basis is to create satisfaction for herself and other people and to create something from nothing. This means that the only way she'll be happy is by learning and finding out about herself, and her past that she didn't know. Not just for the sake of it, because it's something that she's passionate about.
SECRETS ⫻ Well, Claudette doesn't go around announcing that she's being hunted by demons, that's for sure.
SEXUALITY ⫻ Claudette is a lesbian but she has a harder time getting attached to people because of her last relationship going... a little wrong.
FEARS ⫻ The Apparitions that hunt her want her body and she has nary a clue about what they're going to do to her once they catch her. Some have expressed some very... perverted interest in her but they say that they primarily want her body. And she doesn't want to see what'll happen afterward. Because of this, Claudette is deathly afraid of the Occult and doesn't want to dabble in it. She only uses her abstraction as a means to an end but afterward, she desires getting rid of it.
REPUTATION ⫻ Claudette is an outsider to Tampa and even if she wasn't; she'd probably be a nobody. What is notable however is that she seems to have a reputation for chaos following her where ever she goes.
FLAWS ⫻ Claudette is jumpy, prone to panic, and more importantly, she's undergone plenty of trauma from the fact that she was being hunted by monsters for the last while. She's obsessed with breaking the curse and will go to any length to do so, even if it means giving up her metaphorical humanity. Because of the fact that the curse was shunted onto Claudette by somebody, she trusted and even loved; she has a harder time trusting people. More importantly of all, she hates betrayal.
Backstory ▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔ "I'll never let myself get betrayed again."
As a kid, Claudette was a bit weird.
She grew up in Montreal, Canada in one of the many impoverished areas, but her parents tried to give everything for her. Working day and night so she'd have food in her mouth and a roof over her head. This was perfect for the girl as she went to school but felt much discrimination because of her race. The girl was an outcast and she didn't have too much family to go to. However, she was still a very compassionate and kind girl growing up that desired to help people and socialize. Mainly she had a soft spot for the other children that were in the same boat as her and were being abused or were having a hard home life. The girl was very studious as a youth and pursued learning whenever she could - even though the people who looked down on her and even her friends said that wasn't for her. They expected her to act like some loud-mouthed ghetto thug-like in the movies but Claudette that wasn't for her. She wanted to find her own sense of identity, and learn as much as she can. The girl looked online to other black people for advice and other ways to express her culture. Though Claudette found herself spending plenty of time online for her social interactions, her parents found it concerning but it was better than nothing.
The girl had a heavy presence in social media gaining experiences from other people and more. Though it kinda involved her arguing against idiots online to her agitation. However, browsing the internet is how Claudette felt something for females - every time she saw a girl suggestively posing or dressed risque it elicited feelings that she didn't get from looking at similar pictures from men. Claudette kept this to herself, obviously. For years the girl had a crisis with her gender identity as she didn't know exactly what she was or what she wanted to be. Mainly caused by her attraction to females that her parents previously instilled was boyish. In addition, there was the fact that growth spurt she had was colossal and many made fun of her for being boyish. Every time her parents got a hint of this they told her that she needed to get away from the computer talking to weirdos. This only made Claudette sigh.
After graduating high school, however, Claudette decided to leave Montreal for America as she wanted to travel the world along with helping people. Claudette applied to many different schools including Harvard and Yale; she had the GPA to back it up so why not... but she, unfortunately, couldn't get in, and they also didn't have the degree that she was looking for. Eventually, she expanded her horizons to trying to apply to every school out there until she managed to get into the University of Chicago's Social Worker program. That was where Claudette was free to explore herself as a woman and become her true self and she finally came to the realization that she wasn't into guys like that. Instead, she was into women and she eventually openly expressed her sexuality on social media and beyond. And she settled on being a woman except with some genderfluidity. Claudette moved on through classes and eventually she graduated from the University of Chicago after attaining her degree in Social Work and a Minor in ASL.
And mountains of debt from her student loans!
Ultimately, Claudette chose to settle down in New York and become a social worker. The girl was able to get a pretty high paying job with her master's degree and so on she lived a high life in New York. Even though her apartment was tiny and cheap, she has frequented the art scene and attended many festivals. In the meantime, she has dated girls on and off but she hadn't found the right one until she ran into a girl at the bar. Her name was Maxine Carter and they were the perfect match as both of them were studious and compassionate women - but Claudette felt like Maxine was only into her because she was "exotic". Still, Maxine was her only real girlfriend and after a few months, they finally went through with it...
... But, Claudette woke up tied to a bed and naked. Covered in symbols and pentagrams.
That was when Maxine dropped the bomb on her: she never loved Claudette and she was only playing her. Maxine told Claudette that there was a curse on her that attracted monsters and all sorts of nastiness - all because one of her ancestors was a magician and had some unfulfilled pacts. But the curse could be passed onto another female through a ritual and so Maxine set up a trap and Claudette fell for it. Afterward, Maxine left her and Claudette screamed until someone called the police and they came to free her. Claudette told them that Maxine was some kind of satanist and tried to sacrifice her to a demon and fled - which put the police on her tale.
Claudette went home, defeated, and tried to sleep it off... that was when a shadowy being approached her. He told her that she was marked for sacrifice and then attacked her. She screamed and thrashed as she tried to haul ass and eventually caught the attention of the police... who came and saw nothing. The shadowy being was gone and Claudette was in the corner in the fetal position shivering. Talking crazy and the police took her in for questioning and she kept speaking about a mysterious attacking. They were about to throw her into the slammer when the thing attacked her again... except it wasn't alone. They ravaged the police station and Claudette had to haul ass to get away from them.
They attacked her endlessly at complete random... telling her that they wanted her body, but would have their fun with her first. It felt like a game to Claudette as she was terrorized for a while and they always let her getaway. Claudette went on the run, going from place to place, but they'd always follow her and cause chaos. Though, this wouldn't go unnoticed as she got the attention of a girl named Kimberly Walton. This girl introduced herself as a Ghost Hunter and supernatural expert... who effortlessly ran off one of the attacks with merely a camera. Claudette was informed of the world unknown: the hidden world of the supernatural and why they were attacking her. Kimberly explained that she was an Afflicted and would help her break the curse no matter the cost. Most importantly Kimberly taught her the art of sealing an apparition inside of an object and what would happen if she touched it.
In their attempts to test sealing Claudette sealed her main tormented into a book. He introduced himself as the Witch's Darkness and said that he was the servant of powerful Witch ages ago that made a deal with him and many others: a deal that went unfulfilled so now whoever has her curse has to deal with them. This was strange, but Claudette learned that Kimberly was filming their exploits and putting it live. She felt like she was absolutely betrayed by Kimberly and took the book and just left. She definitely didn't want to be objectified like the girl was making her.
More importantly of which, Claudette wanted to test this ability - and she convinced the Witch's Darkness to give her his power. She used her sealing techniques and her new Abstraction to combat the Apparitions after her and eventually got them off of her. However, more began to come and she went to darker, more depraved, corners in order to break the curse as the curse wears down on her sanity. She heard about a Coven in Florida that she knew was going to help her...
Abstraction ▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔ "Darkness is a force... I now force the forces."
TYPE ⫻ Aberration (Agent)
ABSTRACTION ⫻ The Witch's Darkness, Claudette can produce a smoky black darkness-like substance that absorbs the energy out of whatever enters it.
ABSTRACTION DESCRIPTION ⫻ The Darkness was the Witch's favorite Apparition and her most loyal servant. Mainly because of his ability to interfere with other Extra-Normal abilities and formed an almost literal dark-spot in reality. The Darkness has formed a new pact with Claudette and allows her to use his powers long as she frees him by the end. The Darkness's power is creating a strange, smoky, black substance that drains the energy out of all it comes in contact with. Heat, sound, kinetic, electricity, it all goes dead as it's drained and then scattered all over the multiverse harmlessly. This isn't an instant process as it requires a few moments to fully disappear, but provided it stays in the darkness it'll die out. This allows her to lessen attacks from fire, electricity, and even projectiles as the darkness eventually cause them to lose momentum and then fall. If she uses her darkness on an area for a while it'll eventually chill as all heat will be gone. Most notably of all it deafens sound and she uses this aspect the most as she wraps the darkness around herself to mask her footsteps. The Witch's Darkness can be freely controlled by Claudette and she can create large amounts of it - enough to blanket several city blocks. The Darkness blocks out light and acts as a near-perfect smokescreen.
AURA SENSING ⫻ Notably, Claudette doesn't have an aura-sensing ability of her own, but she has the ability to negate another aura sensing by wrapping it inside of her darkness. No being will be able to utilize their aura reading as long as the darkness is around them.
LIMITS ⫻ Now, Claudette cannot directly use her ability on other Extra-Normal beings. So for example; she can eat the heat from a pyromancer but there's nothing stopping him from going up and punching her in the face. The ability does nothing to stop direct physical abilities at all. The Witch's Darkness ability to eat energy isn't instant and depending on how much energy it'll take more time. She could stop a rock thrown at her but she'll definitely do nothing against bullets as they go too fast and will cut through the darkness. At best it'll only dampen attacks and certain other feats. Great feats of power like massive fireballs can actually destroy the Darkness as it'll be far too much power for it to handle. In addition, the more darkness that Claudette creates, the less effective it'll generally be at sapping energy. If she creates a ball of darkness the size of marble it can pretty much instantly sap energy from whatever it touches. Though it can't sap energy from what it doesn't touch.
WEAKNESSES ⫻ Claudette's darkness affects her as well as the environment. She cannot see through the darkness and it'll absorb the heat out of her body if she's in it as well. It'll sap some of her heat just from creating it and it has the nasty habit of sending her cellphone's charge to a different universe. There's also the fact that Claudette is cursed and being hunted by Apparitions and other nasty beings that want her soul, body, and everything else she has. She has learned how to beat them back but this isn't a good thing.

Large view. _______________________________________________ Kimberly Wendolyn Walton.
Extra-Normal Experience ⫻ Kimberly is a ghost hunter after all. Even before taking up her rather peculiar career choice, she survived the battle with the Glutton. Coming out of the experience with knowledge of all kinds of being that only grew.
Shooting ⫻ While Kimberly knows a gun won't do too much good against an Apparition; she knows that there are other baddies out there. Which is why Kimberly has taken up to practicing the gun range and keeps a weapon on her at all times.
Photography ⫻ Kimberly was born to be a photographer. Even from a young age, she put any cheap camera she could find to good use. Now that her equipment and skills have advanced quite a bit, she has quite a photographic eye. With her camera never leaving her side, few things miss her eye for detail.
Cinematography ⫻ Kimberly was already a bit ahead of the curve with her expertise in photography. The moment she started recording her web series and taking classes, she entered a whole new area entirely. While she is no professional, she isn't a novice either.
Eagle-Eyed ⫻ Leading into the above skill, Kimberly has a very good eye for detail and is perceptive. Not even the most subtle movement gets past her.
Climbing ⫻ Kimberly has been working out and getting into shape, learning how to climb shit so she can do her ghost hunting schtick a lot easier.
Appearance ▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔ "Well, one thing that the whole thing with the Glutton taught me is that I need to be in good shape."
Kimberly (or Kim as she likes to describe herself) is one of the girls that thinks she's plain. She feels as if she doesn't have the face, body, or curves, of models. And in truth, she doesn't have the attributes that make them attractive. Not that really hindered Kimberly at all, she shunted that idea as she found her true calling. Yes, she still has the glasses that invoke a librarian look but the rest of her body says that she's an adventurer now. She usually has a smug smile on her face like she knows something that you don't. It's catty, and somewhat immature even - but a lot of people get the wrong idea about her just from the look. She's not as spastic and energetic as before but is a lot more mild and calm. Reserved even... even with the smile.
Kimberly is thin, but recently she has been paying a lot more attention to her physical fitness. After all, most of her time is spent running around. So, Kimberly has been hitting the gym, losing that little bit of pudge she got from before when she sat around. Which has done wonders for her skin... she's not pale as she used to be. Now, she isn't completely bulked out or anything but you can tell in a few years she'll be in a lot better shape. Her legs are the most toned and strong looking part of her body, however. She has blemishes on her face and a little bit of acne. She doesn't have any marks on her body, other than a few childhood scars that haven't faded. Her skin tone is the result of being primarily French, with a bit of German, and being distantly Blackfoot. As for the rest of her body, she has a banana body shape. Not a body with a whole lot of curves, her shoulders are around the same width as her waist. Her bust (32A) being fairly small, and the same with her hips, she doesn't have a whole lot of curves.
Before the girl wouldn't think of getting a tattoo. However, she decided to say fuck it and get a . Taking the appearance of a massive blue butterfly that takes up almost her entire back... it was the end result of a lot of money and many sessions. On her right arm, she has the tattoo of Rest in Power, Jordan Nichols surrounded by musical notes and vines. Which is weird because, in this timeline, she would have never met the girl. Separate from her tattoos is her sigil which is directly on the center of her forehead. For her other sigil, it's the symbol of a cockroach under her left foot. Ironically enough.
Kimberly dresses rather practically when she's out doing her thing. She likes clothes that suit the purpose of being a monster hunter. She wears combat boots (the more lightweight version because she still needs to run and climb shit), and military-style cargo/combat pants with lots of pockets - sometimes she wears jeans but special work jeans. As for her top, she likes to wears all sorts of stuff for the occasion. She isn't against wearing a tank top, but usually, she wears a jacket, hoodie, or even a trench coat. When she's not on the job she dresses rather unflatteringly. Kimberly doesn't have much of a figure so she doesn't bother and, unlike some people, she doesn't see the point of getting all dressed up if the situation doesn't call for it. She keeps it simple with jeans, a t-shirt, and a hoodie if the situation calls for it. When she's trying to dress to impress she has some semblance of style... a hipster style. She dresses conservative but wears sweaters, jackets, and all sorts of that jazz that are bright and colorful - and likes to wear dresses. Though she still sometimes wears boots, and she's the kind of girl who wears sneakers with a dress. Regardless of what she's wearing, though, Kimberly always has her trusty satchel slung around her shoulder.
Psychology ▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔ "I wish I could have had the courage to tell Jordan not to go with the Hound..."
MAIN GOAL ⫻ Kimberly's singular, obsessive, goal is to stop Annabelle Heart's rampage. She knows that she, at this point, is borderline unstoppable, but Kimberly's still going to try to stop her somehow. After that, Kimberly's goal even if it appears on the surface level that she's only in it for the money is to protect her community from the Extra-Normal. Her experiences with the Glutton and the Hound have opened her eyes to the bigger picture and she knows that things won't be the same. So she attempts to grow stronger anyway she can and make money while doing it. On the flip side, she is attempting to make as much money as she can off of "Ghost hunting" along with expanding her influence far as she can. Though, deep down, she wishes to get over her sorrow over her best friend's death.
WHAT THEY WANT OUT OF THE COVEN ⫻ Kimberly doesn't want anything out of the Coven other than their safety and survival. She doesn't have any interest in joining them, or being a witch at all, nor does she particularly approve of them. However, she isn't against working with them if they have a way of curing the curse that was placed on Annabelle Heart. Nor is she against helping the Coven if they really need it. From what she can tell, they're just a bunch of girls out there sticking together, and she won't really have any reason to bother her unless (or until) they give her one.
PHILOSOPHY ⫻ Kimberly outlook on life changed drastically (fighting an eldritch abomination can do that to you). She realizes that maybe humanity is just a speck in the bigger picture but she wants to enjoy life the best she can and for what it is. So what if there are monsters out there? She's going to stop them. Kimberly lives and let die and believes that anyone can change, and the ugliest people are caterpillars that will, in time, blossom. As a strange belief of hers, Kimberly thinks that photographs are one of the most important things of all time; as they are moments perfectly captured and locked in time. Even if the people die, their photographs will live on forever and they are immortalized through a photograph.
SECRETS ⫻ Kimberly keeps her battle with the Glutton a very well-kept secret between herself and the people who fought it. She tries to keep the Extra-Normal a secret in the most cunning way she can: by presenting them as fiction. In addition, due to what happened, Kimberly has to keep what happened to her friend, Jordan Nichols a secret. Namely her interactions with the girl because technically, in this timeline, she died years before they even could have met.
SEXUALITY ⫻ Kimberly thinks she is heterosexual but it's ambiguous (perhaps even to Kimberly). She isn't exactly the flirty type but had moments where which has made others unsure of her exact sexuality - namely she had some moments of flirting (and "other" displays of affections) with her late best friend, Jordan. Perhaps unintentionally? However, she seems to only show this kind of affection to her close friends.
FEARS ⫻ Kimberly knows that there are monsters out there - literal and metaphorical. She feels the dread overwhelming her innately that they could strike out at any moment and she won't be strong enough to stop them. Kimberly also fears to lose the people that she cares about, mainly because she lost one friend to the supernatural and never wants to lose another one.
REPUTATION ⫻ Before she was thought of as an overimaginative weirdo with a camera, now that's different. Kimberly's quite popular online with her series Project: World Unknown. The show is actually a recording of her battles with Extra-Normal beings presented as special effects and this has reached people far and wide. To say it in fewer words; Kimberly's a celebrity. One that's known in Tampa, in particular.
FLAWS ⫻ Eccentric and is prone to alienate people unintentionally by saying the wrong thing at the wrong time. The girl is very nosy and likes to stick her nose in other people's business - especially when it comes to the supernatural. Kimberly is overzealous, presumptuous, and has a habit of jumping the gun. Especially when the going gets tough. In her attempts to combat the supernatural she has gotten rather arrogant and believes herself to be an expert. When there's much she doesn't know and most likely that'll bite her in the ass. The girl hasn't fully gotten over the death of her former friend, Jordan Nichols, and will go to any lengths for it to never happen again.
Backstory ▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔ "I've found my true calling."
So to begin, Kimberly was born as a native of Farmer Hill, Montana. Her family isn't particularly complex, her father's name was Leonard Walton, her mother's name was Constance, and she had a sister name, Bethany. Her father was retired from the army and settled down to work in Townhall, while her mother was a sheriff in Farmer Hill - the two met while in the service. Kimberly, at a young age, displayed a creative and fun-loving side that loved to read and enjoyed art but her parents had a different plan, they wanted their daughter to follow their footsteps. After all, it was apart of the family tradition to do this great honor... but it truly wasn't in Kimberly's best interests. She just wanted to be creative and fun-loving and all and that was something that Bethany shared too. The two girls were pretty much close childhood friends - Kimberly's only friend it seemed.
The family traveled a lot to other cities and Kimberly enjoyed it... but then they came back to boring old Farmer Hill. Kimberly often fixated on the photographs that they took while at beaches and other places and she longed to head back there - and these days she longs to go back to those days. Kimberly wanted every one of her moments to be immortalized and that's what created an interest in photography. It started with demanding to be the one to take the family photos and then it ended with Kimberly working to buy a hundred dollar camera. From here on in, Kimberly dreamed of going to Grand Ridge Academy and becoming the world's greatest photography and her sister, Bethany wanted to do the same. The two shared the same interest and eventually, they took photography classes together.
However, their subjects were drastically different. Where Bethany took pictures of the scenic Farmer Hill and tried to catch people's best moments, Kimberly's subjects were a bit more macabre. Kimberly was interested in the dark history of Farmer Hill and the Occultism that surrounded it... much to the chagrin of Leonard and the many other people who wanted to keep that aspect of Farmer Hill a secret. It was just the occasional picture of a cow skeleton, a pentagram that was drawn into the side of a building, and the site where an animal was obviously sacrificed. The two, occasionally got together to take photographs together but their completely different interests were hard to make work together. Though, things changed between the two after one faithful event.
Bethany was attacked one day after coming back from school, she claims by a man - but now Kimberly wonders if it was supernatural. After that, their relationship did a one-eighty; Bethany started hanging out with the rich preppy girls and started talking down and bullying people. Which included Kimberly as Bethany, whenever they were out bullied, belittled, and talked down to Kimberly in high school. It seemed to be for show as, whenever they were home, Bethany rarely bothered Kimberly and merely brushed her off whenever she tried to get a straight answer. Kimberly was hurt by the betrayal as the girl thought that she was her best friend and this bullying caused her to be the target for the entire town. However, this didn't last long as the two graduated and Bethany went to a prestigious college in LA.
Kimberly didn't know why, but she remained in Farmer Hill to attend Grand Ridge Academy. She told herself that she only did it to follow her original plan to go there to become the world's greatest photographer. Worst of all, Kimberly felt alienated from her own family by not abiding by their wishes and constantly got into arguments with her. It was quite clear they saw her as the black sheep for refusing to serve their country. It started with small things like not inviting Kimberly home for holidays to more or less kicking her out of the house. Worst of all, she noticed that they took down all the pictures that had Kimberly from their social media and it felt like her connection to the Waltons died.
Suddenly, Farmer Hill felt like a trap that she needed to escape... and it was uncomfortable running into them on the street. In Kimberly's spare time she went around Farmer Hill and took spooky pictures of whatever she could find - and sometimes of things that she made herself and put them on Instagram. Eventually, she got bored one day at one of the places something was sacrificed to a "Glutton" and decided to fuck around. She played the part of a ghost hunter and mocked getting attacked by a ghost and convinced a friend of hers that specialized in special effects to edit in some stuff. Then she put it on social media to some rather positive reception.
Which gave her the idea of, whenever the girl wasn't studying, to run this little web series of hers named Project: Worlds Unknown. It was a simple thing where she went around and acted the part of a ghost hunter that tried to rid Farmer Hill of phantasms or the curse that plagued the town. It gained some small traction to the point where the ad revenue put a little bit of money in her pockets. Though around this time a newcomer to the town name named Jordan Nichols... a black girl from Philadelphia with a messed up leg that wanted to pursue a degree in Photography as well. They were the polar opposites of each other in every way but that's what made them connect so well. Jordan needed a guide around Farmer Hill and Kimberly, well, needed a friend.
Eventually, the two were functionally joined at the hip with Jordan rarely going too far away from Kimberly (which lead to some rumors that they were in a relationship - which Jordan denied but Kimberly didn't). With Jordan helping out with Kimberly's show and all of that jazz. Kimberly and Jordan were best friends and there was nothing that could change that.
... Not even the discovery that the supernatural wasn't as fake as she thought it was. After a camping trip gone wrong due to Scott Reese, the town scumbag, getting possessed by the Glutton and going on a rampage. Kimberly escaped with her life but didn't realize it at the time but she Awakened. From then on, she helped the group whenever she could even though she didn't know of her abstraction. Kimberly noticed a strange trend with her friend, Jordan, and confronted her on it... and Jordan revealed that she was being hunted by a being known as "the Hound".
Jordan confessed what happened that messed up her leg, which made her so haunted and guilty: years ago she went on a drunken car ride on her cousin's, Madison Brown, birthday which ended with a car accident that killed her. Since Jordan was behind the wheel, she blamed herself for years for her death. However, as it turned out: that was not how things were supposed to go. As it turns out Jordan was the one that was supposed to die and the Hound wished to correct that. Kimberly vowed to protect her from the Hound and did just that.
From there, Kimberly assisted the group in their battle against the Glutton... which was getting more and more hopeless as the situation devolved into raving cultists and monsters wandering the town. Before the ultimate battle, however, the Hound came for Jordan and said that if she comes willingly, he'll help the group defeat the Glutton. Jordan, however, willingly gave herself up to the Hound. Kimberly tried to object but Jordan was dead set on this... and this ended up being Kimberly's biggest mistake. Before Jordan left, they had some parting words before Jordan left for good.
The group ventured into the mountain and defeated the Glutton - where she discovered her abstraction - bringing back all of their old friends and creating a new timeline without the Glutton. In this timeline, Farmer Hill was destroyed by an "earthquake" but magic was returned. It would have been perfect, but Jordan's cousin, Madison Brown, was also resurrected and Jordan died years ago. She apparently attended Grand Ridge Academy in Jordan's place. Against the advice of the Hound Kimberly showed Madison a recollection of what happened. From there Kimberly's family moved to Florida without her and Kimberly ended up moving to New York City to attend school on her own.
However, this wasn't right... Kimberly didn't want to pretend things were normal with the things that she has seen. After much thinking; Kimberly brought back her show... Project: Worlds Unknown. However, with a twist; Kimberly was actually battling the supernatural and Apparitions and recording it. Over time, her viewer base expanded to the millions - there were less theatrics, fewer special effects, and other fancy nonsense, but that was only because Kimberly was taking it seriously. Kimberly was eliminating Apparitions that were a threat across New York City along with becoming a celebrity and traveling to other places to help stop other Apparitions.
Though, she kept her ear to the ground. Kimberly knew the next big threat was right around the corner. It won't be as big as the Glutton but nothing could be on par with that thing.
And it wasn't long until she found it; Annabelle Heart. She started tracking a strange string of murders that started in rural South Carolina that went down south. Then she found out about Annabelle Heart after tracking her down and receiving a few Recollections about her. Kimberly found out more and more about the girl and what she had become and realized that she was a monster. And then Kimberly realized that she was the only one that would be capable of stopping her, being the only person knowledgeable in the supernatural and what she is.
Thus, Kimberly tracked her all the way from South Carolina to Tampa by following the destruction.
Abstraction ▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔ "Hi. Bye."
TYPE ⫻ Awakened
ABSTRACTION ⫻ Photographic-Teleportation, the ability to teleport to different locations using photos as a medium along with other abilities.
ABSTRACTION DESCRIPTION ⫻ Kimberly's abstraction manifests in her desire to capture all moments and how she felt boxed into Farmer Hill. It's a fairly simple abstraction that is considered to be teleportation with a twist. If she has a picture of a location in her hands she can focus and teleport to that location in a flash of light, not unlike the flash of a camera. All she needs to do is focus, envision she's there, and it'll happen - but it takes a few moments to charge. It doesn't matter if it's digital or an actual photograph - but she works better with photographs in her hands. It's also possible for her to teleport through paintings and other such things long as she envisions being there. Photographic-Teleportation allows her to teleport anywhere on earth long as she has a photograph, but the further away she is the more time and stamina it'll take to teleport. If the location is about three meters away she can instantly teleport to it, but teleporting to say, China will take hours. In addition, Kimberly can teleport people with her long as they are close and doing the same thing as her. Kimberly can teleport to any point in the picture, she has found out with some tinkering - before she thought that she can only teleport to the spot the picture was taken. After practicing, Kimberly can rapidly teleport from one spot to another to confuse and overwhelm foes. Kimberly hasn't realized it yet, but she has one of the few abstractions capable of dimensional travel. In order to access it, it's simple; she just needs a photograph taken in another dimension.
Kimberly has access to two sub-abilities.
Photographic-Sealing ⫻ Kimberly hasn't realized it yet (nor will she ever most likely) but Kimberly went through a Semi-Awakening. Where she retained her main ability but she gained access to one powerful sub ability. It relates to her desire to face Apparitions and the Extra-Normal on an even level and still relates to photography. If she takes a picture of an Apparition she can seal it inside of the photograph; now this is no easy feat - she has to first battle the Apparition to the point where she can weaken it then take the photo. Alternatively, she can keep taking photographs of the Apparition until it is sealed. Once sealed, the Apparition will be trapped inside of the photograph until it is torn or damaged in any way.
Photographic-Scrying ⫻ This ability is rooted in how Kimberly feels as if photographs are just a window. This was also the result of her Semi-Awakening as she originally couldn't access it before. By holding a photograph, at will, she can see the location in real-time where the photograph was taken as a sort of scrying ability. She can see, hear and even smell everything that is currently going on at the location. This allows her to spy on any location remotely long as she has the photograph... she has abused it. If the photograph was taken far enough in the past she can also see into it as if it was a Recollections.
AURA SENSING ⫻ Kimberly's aura sensing is simple; she can sense the auras of objects and people that she has taken the pictures of for about thirty minutes. However, if the object or person is moved from the place where she first took the picture of it; then she won't be able to sense it any longer.
LIMITS ⫻ I'm going to skip the obvious and get to the meat. Kimberly can travel anywhere in the world but further away from her current position, the longer it'll take. She may be able to instantly teleport to a spot a few feet away from her, or take ten seconds to teleport twenty feet, but it requires a few moments of constant mental focus to teleport further. At this time, she has to stay still and focused or else she'll lose focus and the charge will be "reset." In addition, if the photograph is damaged in any way she'll have a harder time teleporting. Depending on the state of the photo she may teleport partially there or may not teleport at all. The act of teleportation is a very tiring and exhausting process while short-ranged teleportation is alright; teleporting to China will knock her out completely for a while. And don't get me started on teleporting to other dimensions. There isn't a limit to how many people she can teleport, long as they envision themselves being in the location of the photo, too. Kimberly needs a camera or photographic device in order to seal Apparitions and damaging the photo in any way will release the Apparition. Kimberly can only scry on one location at a time.
WEAKNESSES ⫻ The abstraction has a couple weaknesses and drawbacks. The mere act of teleporting is very disorientating, nauseating and causes vertigo - teleporting long distances only exasperates this issue. She may reach the point where she falls over on her face from teleporting too much. There's also another weird effect when Kimberly teleports... she finds herself unable to leave the bounds of the photograph for a few moments. To explain, say if Kimberly teleports to the picture of a beach - she won't be able to escape the beach and go forward for a few minutes. Its like invisible walls trapping her, and whoever she teleports with inside of their bounds. Of course, this is dependant on how far she teleports and how much. If she teleports a few feet then it'll pretty much instantly go away, but if she teleports to the other side of the city she'll be trapped in there for a few minutes. Limiting her mobility and making her easy prey... she will still be able to teleport but the more she teleports the worse this effect will get.
ABSTRACTION ⫻ Entomopathy, Sharon Reid's ability to dominate the minds of all insect and have them dance at her fingertips.
ABSTRACTION DESCRIPTION ⫻ Kimberly received this abstraction from a friend of hers, who didn't want anything to do with it after the Glutton was defeated. Given the circumstances of how she got the abstraction, Kimberly could understand. Sharon Reid's isolation and inability to connect to people (and the innate desire to gain control of other people) manifested in the ability to connect to insects and find friendship through them. To utilize this abstraction, Kimberly has to feel the same type of emotion which she finds a bit alien herself. She understands how it feels to be alien, as her eccentrics don't endear her to a lot of people, but she has taken strides. Thus she can't utilize the abstraction to its full effectiveness. For example, Sharon Reid could use the abstraction in a radius of miles and could more or less control all insects within the bounds of Farmer Hill. Kimberly, on the other hand, can only dominate the minds of insects in the range of one whole ass mile. Kimberly can completely control the minds of all insects and command them to do whatever she pleases. Whenever she controls insects they do whatever she asks and overrides all of their base instincts until she releases them from her control. With the usage of this abstraction, Kimberly can control thousands of insects at a time, an absolute swarm of insects. This makes her amazingly powerful and versatile with few being able to attack her in a straight fight.
There are two abilities that Sharon had that Kimberly can't do for the life of her: the manipulation of insect biology. Sharon Reid's manipulation of their biology was near limitless and she can create any type of insect long as it made some type of biological sense. Kimberly, on the other hand, is unable to accomplish this and every time she tries she ends up killing the insect. So bummer. By taking baby steps Kimberly has learned to understand any insect's biology on touch and heal them. Just a baby step as she keeps killing them. As a side effect, insects follow Kimberly around whenever she has this abstraction "on", even if she isn't using her abstraction at the moment. They float around her, the longer she stays in one area, the more will appear. They'll ignore any actions she does so she could punch a hornet's nest and it will not cause them to attack at all.
AURA SENSING ⫻ Kimberly has two forms of aura reading directly connected to her abstraction - mainly if she's using it or not. If she's not using it, Kimberly can see the aura of all insects within a mile and a half radius of herself. She can discern what type of insect they are and what health state they are in at the moment. The second she activates her abstraction the ability changes; she will no longer be able to see an insect aura but instead the auras of everything they can perceive. From the environment, objects, and people. Most insects don't have senses on par with humans so their auras are fuzzy and harder to read.
LIMITS ⫻ Kimberly can control thousands of insects if they are within her range, but the more insects she controls the less fine control she has. She can make say a dozen insects do a bunch of different tasks and be able to multitask. If she controls a few thousand then she can only submit one command and they all follow it as a swarm.
WEAKNESSES ⫻ Kimberly is telepathically connected to the insects and this comes with some side effects. Controlling a large number of insects is very straining on her mind and causes some serious headaches and nosebleeds. After using the max of her ability it's going to feel like one hell of a hangover hit her. She's also telepathically connected to the insects and killing them causes a shock to her. Killing just one won't be something she notices, but killing a few hundred will hurt enough to knock off her control for a second and a few thousand will knock her out. Somehow killing a million will kill Kimberly too. Killing the insects with burns and cold weather will cause burns and frostbite to manifest on her body.
Other ▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔ "Nothing to see here."
As for cameras, Kimberly has a Canon AE-1 camera, and an instant print camera she got off Amazon. If she had to choose one, she'd chose the instant-print due to its usage. Due to her adventures, Kimberly has a collection of dozens of Apparitions sealed in photographs but she also keeps a Smith & Wesson M&P Shield 2.0 on her for protection.

Madison
"She was a friend I made at USF, but I think she's losing it. After she met the Hound something changed... or she just stopped being subtle about her alcoholism."
Claudette
"Next leader, honestly I'm done with this power-hungry control freak game so I'm going to let her do her thing. I just prefer her to Agatha and Kayla for having more than two braincells, and I know she won't leave us like she is."
Maya
"I want her gone... I don't approve of her, but I guess we have to work together. I can tell, from one look, that I'm going to be stuck with her. Even if her constant slutting gets us into trouble... but, maybe it can get us out of trouble."
Kayla
"Left us, don't care."
Sin
"She's like that one weirdo in a party that does nothing but find a corner and sit. Nobody knows why she's here, and honestly, I don't think she does either. She's at least kind of useful, I have to admit."
Herik
"We've come to a new understanding... I owe him for watching my back while I was under, but now I have to help him with his little problem."
Vashti
"Herik's little BFF... we made nice with each other and I appreciate her for helping me with my problems. Though, I'm not sure what she gets out of this... I think it has something to do with that little lizard-queen form she has."
Alyssa
"For somebody who doesn't want to be a leader, she sure does act like the leader. Heh... she's the most competent out of all of us, well, second to me, of course."

Emily
"I can tell Emily's changed a bit... but, I ain't sure if it's good enough to make up for all the shit she did. Honestly, I ain't sure how much of that was Babylon and how much of it was herself, but I think it's better now that Babylon's out of the equation... and that mess was our fault because we should have totally seen that one coming."
Claudette
Den mother to the Coven, between her and Lyss, I can't tell whose holding us together more. I just wish she'd stay out of my business for once in her damn life.
Maya
"Honestly, she's one of the dumbest people I've ever seen in my life. Like honestly, I can't remember a time she didn't try solving a problem by sound blasting it or tryna jump its bones. It's a miracle she lasted this long. I don't like how she's chilling with that one girly lookin' boy, either. She's too stupid to realize that she's being used."
Kayla
"I hope we didn't scare her off with our BS."
Sin
"A real weirdo if you ask me... I honestly can't read this chick for the life of me! So I stopped trying, unfortunately, the problem is that she still sticks around with the Coven and got a little girlfriend."
Grace
"Quinn dragged this ho' in like a cat drags in a bird from outside. I ain't getta' great feel of her, but she seems cool, nice... and she probably fucks Quinn. Really good. I don't even want to put that shit into words!"
Herik
"The nice guy of the Coven. First, I thought he was just some creep tryna get some coochie but he's genuinely a nice person. Too nice for the Coven. Though, I don't like how he hangs around that upstart."
Vashti
"This girl's gets on my nerves, but I'm gonna stay out of her way and hopefully she learns how to shut the fuck up... Okay, I can't bullshit myself like that. She's gonna keep runnin' her mouth until I punch her in it."
Mariah
"Met homegirl on the yacht and she seems chill. Glad to have another black girl in the Coven, and one with thick skin and that's not Quin... or Maya... or Emily."
Alyssa
"She's the leader in my book, though I kinda want to ask little miss Hot-topic-goth about her little dealings with the FBI. She's starting to seem a bit too friendly with the feds now... First it starts with getting information and it ends with her ratting us out."

Emily G. Reed
"We were foolish to let Babylon go on this long. We should have gotten rid of her when we had the chance! Now someone's dead, but I think Emily was hit by this the hardest. As she should, she needs to grow from this the most."
Madison
"Mademoiselle Madison is so kind to let me stay with her... however, I don't know what happened between herself and the Hound, but she's drinking far, far, far too much for my liking and this is dark the start of a trend of self-destructive behavior."
Maya
"It's sad that I have to pay extra attention to Maya. She's immature, confrontational, and very... loose. She's going to catch something at this rate!"
Kayla
"I don't know what happened to her, but I don't want to pry into her life, unlike the others. She'll come back to us."
Sin
"She's strange, but I can't say she's a bad person. Just is a bit out of it all the time, and that's okay. I'm still trying to decipher her motivations, but long as she stays helpful under my leadership there should be no problems."
Herik
"He didn't originally have an abstraction, now he does. He's the gentle sweetheart of the Coven and I wouldn't know what we would do without him! Still, I don't think he would want anything to do with us if he didn't have an issue of his own, but he's stuck so to speak, haha!"
Alyssa
"I am quite jealous of her abstraction... she can ward off Apparitions, while I draw them. She's one of the most competent members of the Coven, and we owe it to her that we got out of the mess with the FBI and the Outsider. I'm wondering what she's hiding, however."
Vashti
"I'm going to try to look past our previous interactions for the sake of the group, a good leader isn't bias, after all! But, she should really watch whose she's talking to like that. Even with her abstraction, someone would teach her manners."
At first glance Maya is on the shorter side, even though she’s of average height for a Korean woman. She’s very pretty with a delicate sort of look to her. This is very quickly destroyed by the expression on her face - often some for a disgust or displeasure. She has what many would call a resting bitch face, though unlike many it’s because she's probably internally bitching about you. She is rarely found without makeup on, with the minimum of lipstick and eyeliner at all times (but often a full face). She has a naturally defined jawline even as the rest of her facial features are rather soft.
Maya has skin of a tanned, light brown colour with yellow undertones often offset by blush across her cheeks. Her eyes are dark and delicate. Her hair falls midway down her back and is naturally black but currently dyed a lighter, more orange brown. It is naturally fairly straight but she often curls it or leaves it in braids overnight to do the job for her. Her ears are pierced at the lobe and she often wears dangling earrings of various forms.
Her body is naturally slim, with a reasonably sized chest even if she is lacking in curves elsewhere. She’s not got much weight to her, both in muscle mass and fat due to a naturally high metabolism and not exactly being the kind to work out. Maya tends to follow the fashion from back in Korea, often found in more cute styles of dresses or combinations of flowing shirts and skirts / shorts. Her colour preferences are pastel colour, pinks and blues but she has a varied wardrobe.
Maya speaks with a noticeable accent due to English being a second language to her, and only living in an English speaking country for three years (though she is fluent). She has a sound wave sigil on the back of her neck.
PSYCHOLOGY
"I know I can be hard to get on with but I really don’t care."
MAIN GOAL ⫻ Graduate University and then live the life she wants - preferably with a well paying job, loads of fun and friends to hang out with. Her other main goal is to get revenge on her ex and all the friends that turned on her. She also deep, deep down wants to be recognised by her parents.
WHAT THEY WANT OUT OF THE COVEN ⫻ First of all Maya is looking for companionship, because she’s suddenly alone and without friends. Second she’s looking for something fun tklighten up her now boring life. Third she wants to be able to get revenge on her ex and any others that might harm or control her in the future - and a group of wannabe witches seems like a pretty good place for that. PHILOSOPHY ⫻ Live for yourself and fuck what others think. She also believes in living fast and loud, filling your life with all sorts of things you enjoy even if they’re not the best for you. She believes that you shouldn’t let others control you and should do exactly what you want with your life, even if others think its a bad decision. She’ll actively encourage people to live for themselves rather than others, but also has a bad habit of talking down those who don’t.
SECRETS ⫻ Maya hides how desperate she is for attention and companionship that she lacked growing up. It was this that led her to her previous relationship, something she also keeps a secret from others.
SEXUALITY ⫻ Pansexual, with a preference for girls. Maya isn’t fussy about gender when it comes to dating. She's incredibly open about it.
FEARS ⫻ Violence. Maya fears physical violence due to her previous relationship and will automatically flinch if someone raises a hand to her.
REPUTATION ⫻ Maya doesn’t have much of a reputation in Tampa aside from being a foreigner who hasn’t lived there long. Within her university she has a negative reputation - someone who went along with a bad crowd only to shun them all. In the Coven shes known as someone whos loud and opinionated, and likes to wind others up.
FLAWS ⫻ Maya is incredibly stubborn and spiteful and absolutely refuses to do what she’s told. She’s been controlled enough in her life, but this means often she’ll do the complete opposite of what someone asks her to do - even if that’s also negative for her. She’s also very argumentative and fairly insensitive which means that she can be quite hard to get on with, and she actively sabotages her own friendships by being a bit of a bitch. When she’s enjoying herself she’s good company but as soon as she’s bored or disagrees with someone, she’s not good to be around at all. She also has severe trust issues with men now due to her last relationship.
BACKSTORY
"Pretty standard affair until I moved over here, honestly."
Maya was born in Seoul, Korea to a businessman father and a university professor mother. She was brought up in a strict, no nonsense household where “fun” was equal to educational activities and most of her time was spent raised by a nanny rather than her very absent parents. She was three when her younger sister, Eun-Ji, was born. It didn’t make many changes to her life - just even less attention from either parents.
The rest of her childhood wasn’t anything special. She went to school, made a few friends and got chewed out whenever she obtained anything short of perfect grades. She acted out a few times in an attempt to get attention from her parents only for it to fail. So instead she turned to taking it out on her younger sister, who she had a bad relationship with, and other people in her class even as her anger and dislike for her parent’s grew. But still, she kept herself top of the class with the slight hope they might recognise her. She both complied and rebelled as she grew up, neither of which had much effect on the attention she got.
It was when she reached the end of school that she finally rebelled against her parents - by getting into and accepting a place for University in Florida doing chemical physics. It was a long shot from where her parents had wanted her to go - in fact she turned down a place at Seoul National University. She didn’t particularly care about the academic credentials of where she was going, all she knew was that she wanted to get away from her parents.
So she moved to Florida, choosing to go by the English name Maya in the hope that it would further distance her from her family. Going to America gave Maya exactly the change she wanted - even if it wasn’t really good for her. She fell in with what many people would see to be the bad lot with whom she partied, drank, smoked and did a lot of drugs. Even with this she was the envy of all her new friends as she somehow managed to keep her high grades. But she was enjoying herself far more than she ever had before, even relishing in the way people outside of her group told her she was throwing her life away (and continuing to do it anyway).
It was after just over a year in America that she got her first boyfriend, Dean White. It was pretty great - they skipped class together and with their friends and had a lot of fun. However the longer they were together the more controlling Dean got. He started policing who Maya saw and hung out with, growing especially envious of her friendships with other men (which she thought was ridiculous considering she was pan). This spiralled into loud shouting matches between the two that went on and on… until they ended with violence.
From then on Dean got control he wanted through fear, because there wasn’t anything Maya could do against him when he threatened her physically. Her life was taking a sudden downwards spiral as he isolated her from the rest of the group - she only got to spend time with them when they were all together, all while he spread rumours that she didn’t actually like hanging out with them.
After months of this treatment something inside Maya finally snapped during one of Dean’s particularly violent rages, awakening and emitting an explosive burst of sound energy. This was enough to shove Dean back from him and injure him, partly from how hard he slammed into a wall. With a sudden newfound power she told a very dazed and angry Dean that she never wanted to see him again, before running away.
Now with no friends and some strange magic that she had no idea about, Maya was at a loss for what to do. It was during her time locked up in her studio flat browsing the internet that she found other people talking about Extra-Normal happenings and the talk of a Coven forming. With no one else on her side and nothing better to do, Maya decided she might as well join - maybe it could bring a little fun back into her life.
SKILLS & TALENTS
"Being at the top of my class is easy, impressing my parents isn’t."
Korean ⫻ Maya is fluent in Korean, as it’s her first language and she speaks it better than she does English.
Academic Intelligence ⫻ Always top of her class growing up, Maya is incredibly academically gifted and continues to get good grades with ease. However this intelligence is only for academics (she’s certainly not street smart). She makes sure to keep her grades up to keep her parent’s happy - as much as she dislikes them, she likes the money they send her. She’s especially good at her degree field, chemical physics, and maths. Photographic Memory ⫻ In a way coming hand in hand with her intelligence, Maya has a photographic memory meaning she only needs to see things once or twice to remember them.
ABSTRACTION
"Being noisy is pretty fun."
TYPE ⫻ Awakened
ABSTRACTION ⫻ Sound Blast, the ability to release damaging blasts of sonic energy.
ABSTRACTION DESCRIPTION ⫻ Born from her spite and constant need for arguments, Maya can emit blasts of sound waves that cause physical damage to people and objects. She is able to do this in two ways. The more powerful, but less controllable, way is a burst of sound in a radius around her emitted from her entire body itself. This is powerful enough to break materials such as wood and to badly damage (non supernatural) humans. Along with this it’s powerful enough to push back whatever it hits, as if they were hit by a “physical” force of sound waves. It also cause temporary hearing loss at best, severe hearing damage at worse. The other way is focused through her hands, a less powerful burst that can be targeted. This requires far more concentration and does not cause as much sheer damage or pushback but it doesn’t affect everything in a radius as the other way does.
LIMITS ⫻ The Emotional-Field around Extra-Normal beings prevents them from receiving the full brunt of the damage. They may be launched back but they'll still retain their hearing... well, they'll get it back eventually. The area of effect blasts of sound has a range of ten meters, while the focused blasts have a range of around thirty meters. However, the blasts lose damage the further out they go - so their max effective range is around half their max.
WEAKNESSES ⫻ Using the sound blasts has the side effect of killing her own hearing for a few minutes as she'll only hear ringing. The focused blasts will do it for a minute or two, while the area of effects blast will remove her hearing for quite longer. In addition, the sound blasts interfere with her sense of equilibrium and her balance will go to trash while she's using her ability. Also, the more focused sound blasts have a recoil that'll physically throw off her balance.
OTHER
"This better end up being fun."

"You wanna know more about me? Well, let me tell you..."
"I don't think I'm dressed for the weather here..."
Smug smile nearly always on her lips, Isla exudes confidence in her physical appearance. She has a slim body with lean muscles and reasonable curves, even if she’s a bit lacking in some areas. She has a nice figure when she wears form fitting clothes and she knows it. She has a gentle, oval shaped face with a well defined jaws. Her nose is rounded and lacks any definition at the bridge, smoothing up towards her dark brown eyes. She almost always wears eyeliner and eyeshadow around them along with red lipstick on nicely defined lips. Her skin is a warm brown in colour, lighter than expected for her origins due to a lack of sun while growing up.
Isla is never found without her yellow, knitted beanie on her head. It covers the natural dark brown roots of her hair, which she has dyed a golden blonde. It’s long and curly, something she rarely bothers to tame as it falls midway down her back. Even though Isla is confident in her looks she rarely makes an effort to wear nice clothes that show it off. She’s almost always found in a baggy hoodie and black skinny jeans, preferring combinations of bright oranges, yellows and reds. Only when she’s feeling especially good, or wants to make a good impression, will she wear something more form fitting - most likely the same skinny jeans and low cut, tight shirts.
One of the most shocking things about Isla is her accent, which is clearly Scottish (Glaswegian specifically). She tones it down when around people who aren’t from there, but it’s still clear and will often get thicker as she gets angrier. Isla’s never actually spent a day in her life in Iran so contrary to her appearance she’s more Scottish than anything.
PSYCHOLOGY
"If I’m being honest..."
MAIN GOAL ⫻ Isla’s main goal right now is to get enough money to find a way back home. Aside from this, she just wants to live her life having fun and spending time with others, living each day as it comes to it fullest. Deep down, she wants to be able to actually stop lying and start being honest to herself and others. She also used to want to go become a Vet but never got the grades for it and doubts she could ever achieve their goal. But she doesn’t really have a solid goal.
WHAT THEY WANT OUT OF THE COVEN ⫻ Since she got stuck in Tampa, Isla trawled the internet and managed to find out about the coven (and watched a few videos of them). She figured that her best of getting by in a strange city was to join a group of witches. From the coven she’s mostly looking for companionship in a strange place, help getting home and maybe a place to stay.
PHILOSOPHY ⫻ Always look out for yourself, and don’t let anyone else know the real you. Isla basically believes in lying to make it and to be included and that you should cover up the worst parts of yourself. She has a sense of companionship and believes groups are better than individuals, but would still choose self prioritisation.
SECRETS ⫻ The fact that almost nothing she tells others is the truth, and that most of what they know about her is lies. How insecure she actually is.
SEXUALITY ⫻ Bisexual. Isla has had relationships with both men and women in the past, and is comfortable with this.
FEARS ⫻ Isla fears being found out for all her lies. She also fears not being liked by anyone and being excluded.
REPUTATION ⫻ None, since she just arrived in Tampa.
FLAWS ⫻ Isla is a pathological liar for a start, and very little that she says is entirely honest. With her dishonesty comes a certain expectation that others will be the same and she isn’t very trusting of others. Contrary to her relaxed attitude, Isla is actually often on edge and in anticipation of something happening. She’s also fairly insecure, something she covers up with her lies and bright persona and attempts to fit in. She also has a really annoying habit of going on and on when talking.
BACKSTORY
"You’ll never believe how I got here."
Isla never knew her birth parents: her mother passed away giving birth to her and she didn’t have a registered father. However, this wasn’t a particularly sad thing for the girl - she quickly got adopted in her birth country of Scotland by a couple who couldn’t have their own child. Her adoptive parents weren’t particularly well off but they provided her with everything she could need. They were great parents and brought her up well.
Unfortunately for them Isla fell in with a bad crowd in her highschool years. She started hanging out on the streets, stealing and fighting and smoking. She wasn’t exactly the ringleader but she participated pretty heavily in the theft side of things. It was when with this group that Isla first started lying, discovering that it was easier to gain people to her side and get what she wanted by being dishonest.
It was when she was seventeen that things took a turn for the weirder. One day she messed up when she was staying over at a friend’s in Edinburgh, and let her friend egg her on to steal from a really fancy high street shop. But eyes were already on her as soon as she entered because she clearly looked out of place, and she got caught as soon as she started pocketing stuff. One minute she was staring at a shop worker, tension high as she waited for the consequences, the next she was in the back alley outside and hit by a vision of someone she’d never been before.
This woman introduced herself as Isla’s biological mother, who explained to her that she had been an Adept - and so was Isla. She explained to her exactly what this meant and about the powers that Isla had now inherited. In this vision she told the teenager a bit about herself and how to use her newfound abilities. This left Isla confused about suddenly discovering a world of Extra-Normal she’d never known about before.
However it didn’t change her life much, beyond giving her something else to practice and making her even better as a degenerate teenager. She kept it secret and went through her life, graduating highschool and going to college for stonemasonry, before getting an apprenticeship in that.
Then, very recently, Isla ended up waking up in a strange boat in a place called Paradise. This led to grouping up with a bunch of strangers and going through quite a few crazy (horrible) adventures, which included watching one person get bifurcated and then finding out a little girl was behind it all. Once all was said and done the girl opened a portal to take them back home… only Isla ended up in Tampa, Florida.
SKILLS & TALENTS
"Oh, this is yours?"
Theft ⫻ Isla has been stealing since she was in early highschool and it’s a skill, and bad habit, she’s never broken. Her main skill lies in stealing from shops or of other things just left lying around, picking it up without others noticing. She also has experience with stealing directly from people (and their pockets) - but how well this goes is heavily dependent on how perceptive the person she’s stealing from is.
Lying ⫻ Due to basically being a pathological liar, Isla is very good at lying. Most of what she says is believable, and most of what she says is lies (well, the twisted truth). She’s not perfect, lacking an amazing memory, so she does sometimes mess up consistency wise - but overall it’s hard to tell when she’s lying or when she’s telling the truth.
Street Fighting ⫻ Isla spent most of her highschool years and beyond hanging out with unsavoury characters, some of which were pretty good fighters. She picked up a few tricks from them from the tumbles she got into - she could take people without any fighting experience easily but would get beaten by those who are trained. She tends to fight dirty and always carries a foldable knife with her, just in case.
Understanding Scottish ⫻ Alright, most may not think of it as a skill in any form but Isla is pretty proud of her ability to understand the thicker Scottish accents and slang. Not to mention she can easily read and translate Scottish twitter for others so it's a win win.
Stonemasonry ⫻ A pretty niche skill and what Isla went to college for. Useless outside of her job of helping regenerate old buildings.
ABSTRACTION
"One minute I’m here, the next I’m not."
TYPE ⫻ Adept
ABSTRACTION ⫻ Purple lux. Channeler: her beanie (hand knitted by her adopted mother).
ABSTRACTION DESCRIPTION ⫻
Blinking ⫻ Short ranged, fast teleportation. She can teleport to someone she can see at that moment, within reason (if she was in an endless field she could only teleport a certain distance - but if she was in a room she could teleport all around it). This can be used in quick succession and frequently, being her most used and practice spell. Essentially she can “blink” around the place.
Long Range Teleportation ⫻ Isla can cast longer range, more traditional teleportation. She can teleport to somewhere she has visited before within a reasonable range.
Movement Stopping ⫻ Isla can stop something, or someone, that is currently in motion. For example if someone was running she could make them suddenly come to a stop. She can also, with a greater difficulty, stop a very specific movement - such as someone who is about to punch her, she could stop the movement of their arm. This is the spell Isla has used second most after blinking.
Telekinesis ⫻ One of the spells that Isla only recently figured out and has been trying to practice. At the moment Isla can move around nearby objects - causing them to levitate them, pulling them closer to her and the like. Her control of the speed of the object's movements is shaky at the moment. She can’t do much more than that yet.
LIMITS ⫻
Blink: Isla can teleport around fifteen feet at a time and can chain blink around three times before it gets too tiring and has to catch her breath. The whole thing drains her stamina.
Teleport: Isla can teleport up to sixty meters to a place she has visited before... but she can only do it once an hour as the experience is very straining and tiring on her body. She can bring people but that just makes it even more tiring.
Movement Stopping: Isla can only stop the movements of one object at a time within a ten meter radius, but it doesn't work effectively on Extra-Normal beings. She can use it on them, but the more she uses it on them, the more resistant they become. She can hold the spell for up to a few minutes atm.
Telekinesis: Isla's control over objects is very rudimentary and she can't do anything fancy at the moment. She can only manipulate one object a time up to a limit of one hundred pounds, also she can only do it in a six-meter radius.
WEAKNESSES ⫻
Blinking: Blinking causes some disorientation and throws off her balance, rapidly blinking will cause her nausea and will probably fall over due to disorientation.
Long-Ranged Teleportation: The spell is very taxing and teleporting will probably cause her to be stunned for a bit.
Movement-Stopping: Movement Stopping greatly slows her down. Like she's walking through thick honey as long as the spell persists.
Telekinesis: The usual; headaches, nosebleeds, etc etc.
OTHER
"I’m out."
Isla’s real name is actually Arabella, but she hates that name with a passion and hasn’t gone by it in years.

Opinion
Emily / Babylon
Fuck, I don't think I've seen anyone with a stick so far up their ass! I can't believe she tried to claim to be the leader and then told everyone that she beat up the not really FBI! All she did was run away. But, it was hilarious to see her take a taser up the ass - she deserved it. Pissing her off never gets old.
Madison
I'm fairly certain Madison doesn't like me at all, but whatever I don't care. Can't say I have strong opinions on her anyway... Maybe we could get along if we tried, but whatever.
Claudette
I honestly can't remember if I've had a full conversation with Claudette. She doesn't seem bad but honestly she's kinda boring.
Kayla
Y'know Kayla may wind me up occasionally, but otherwise we get on really well. We're totally on the same wavelength when it come's to messing with all the others. Honestly she's probably the person I like the most (and I'm even willing to share my porn collection with her). Even if she's a little more serious now with the whole leader business.
Izzy
Wow Izzy is pretty! She's probably one of the more tolerable ones, because things are fun when she's around. I especially like her habit of handing me alcohol - who would say no to free drinks?
Quinn
Wow she is full of herself, while somehow being one of the weirdest of us all. We don't talk much.
Nina
Nina's cute... but don't tell her I said that. Honestly, I found Nina pretty annoying at first but she painted me! And it was honestly beautiful. Since then she's kinda grown on me, not that I'd let her know how much I enjoy her company. She's still annoying sometimes but she's good company. She's far too nice, though, and it could get her in trouble. Not that I'm worried about her or anything... But everyone likes her, I think, so she won't have a lack of people jumping to her rescue.
Herik
Is it even legal to be that tall? I'm pretty sure he could break one of my bones with one finger, thank god he's far too nice to do that. If I'm honest, not that I'd tell anyone, he terrified me at first. I'm still on the fence, and I wouldn't say I trust him even if I know that's partly down to... my past issues and not him. He ain't done anything to warrant that. He's pretty fun to be around, though, so I'm tryna get past it.
Alyssa
She really went above and beyond when it came to the raid. I mean, she tasered that absolutely massive guy! Not to mention that she handled the situation with that bitch their leader pretty well. I have a newfound respect for her... though I somehow think she doesn't have the same for me.
Molly
I hardly know her, but I heard she's not really her and that's... just weird.
Herik has a healthy tan from his days spent in the sun as a life guard at the beach. His eyes are light blue, his lashes blonde, his eyebrows dark, and he has a full beard and mustache he keeps semi-neat. He's bigger than most people, his muscles are bulky, his chest is large and defined (his mother used to tease him about them being big enough to wear a bra), his thighs and calves are thick and hairy. His hair is blond, long passed his shoulders, darker at the roots and lighter towards the ends. The sun lightens his hair giving it natural highlights. For work he keeps it in a bun, so it's not in his face when he's saving lives, for formal occasions he braids it in a ponytail, and for day-to-day he keeps it down.
Herik's six-six and is fully aware that he's the biggest guy in the room and does his best not to intimidate and throw his weight around if he can help it. He always has a bright smile on his face and a laid-back aura. He likes when people are comfortable around him. Scaring folk ain't his jam. He wears a size 16 shoe, but prefers to be bare foot if he can. His style consists of short sleeve t-shirts or no shirt, fitness shorts in various colors and lengths, and brown thong sandals if he has to wear shoes. On his left arm is a full sleeve, gray scale, realistic lion tattoo with two large roses.
PSYCHOLOGY
"Happy as can be."
MAIN GOAL ⫻ To magically get his mother out of her coma.
WHAT THEY WANT OUT OF THE COVEN ⫻ Herik joined for two reasons: to get help to learn magic, so he can get his mother out of her coma; and to make friends, because he's lonely.
PHILOSOPHY ⫻ No matter how bad life gets there's someone out there living worse.
SECRETS ⫻ No secrets. Guy's an open book. Ask him anything and he'll answer honestly. His mother on the other hand is Awakened with telekinetic ability. She never told him or used her power in his eye sight. It's easy to grab something from across the room when he has a narrow focus on something else.
SEXUALITY ⫻ Straight maybe? He's never given it much thought. He's only dated girls, but his relationship never last and he's not sure why.
FEARS ⫻ His mother dying and living in a world without her.
REPUTATION ⫻ In Tampa he's a popular life guard women flock to, because they want his attention and never get it. In the Coven he's the dumb gentle giant that never gets angry and wears his heart on his sleeve.
FLAWS ⫻ Herik is loyal to a fault. If you get in good with him he's got your back forever, even if you lie, cheat, steal, or do anything abhorrent. The only thing that trumps his loyalties is his mother. He'd have to think long and hard on what he wants to do if anything like that ever happens. He's dumb, like C and D student in school, but not for lack of trying. He doesn't understand anything more complicated than the fifth grade math. The simpler the concept the easier it is for him to understand. He follows orders well. Tell him to do something and he'll do it with minimum fuss if it doesn't go against his morals too much. Gullible. He'll believe anything that makes sense to him. Got a sob story, but it's complete bullshit? He'll believe, especially if you're good at selling it.
BACKSTORY
"Just a guy and his mom living in the world."
Herik came to America from Norway when he was four years old. He doesn't remember much of his life before he and his mother moved, but he gets an impression something bad happened and they had to go. Whenever he asked his mother about it, she said there were better opportunities in Orlando than in Mo i Rana. If he asked about his father she got really quiet, her face so tense her smile was stiff, and it didn't fit right on her face. He hasn't asked in over twenty years. By the time he was fourteen he was six feet tall, strong, and still growing. His mother enrolled him in wrestling, so he could learn to control his strength. There were times when he would lean on her or hug her too tight. She was five-nine and bruised easily. Her bulky son could leave bruises if he wasn't careful. Herik didn't understand what his mother meant by controlling his strength, until he was sixteen and punched a guy hard enough to break his jaw. He only meant to back him off his girlfriend after he groped her, not send the guy to the hospital and have his jaw wired shut. After that, he made it a point not to be rough with anyone that didn't look like they could handle it and tried his best to make everyone comfortable around him. He didn't succeed no matter how hard he tried. It got around at school what he did, never mind the way, but people became afraid of him. His girlfriend dumped him, his coach kicked him off the team, and his best friend moved across the country (it was a coincidence, but it still hurt). Herik tried to accommodate anyone that approached him. He's always been good at reading people's emotions and adjusting to that person's needs, whether it's keeping his distance, being a shoulder to cry on, or someone to listen. More so keeping his distance, until he graduated high school and got his life guard certifications. Afterwards he made more friends, but they were the fair weather types.
His mother was the kindest and happiest person he's ever met and he aspired to be like her. Whenever he had a bad day, she'd tell him to think about how much worse it could be, gave him a hug, and told him to smile, because it wasn't that bad. So he learned to smile through his problems, but there were times when he couldn't do it. Like when his mother got into a car accident and slipped into a coma when he was thirty years old. He cried alone at her bedside, holding her tiny and weathered hand, because there was nothing else he could do. He did a lot of research on her condition, but he only understood the simple explanations. According to Herik she's in a deep sleep and nothing will wake her up. So he decided he'd wake her up himself. He looked into unconventional healing methods and went to the doctors with new research at least once a week. The problem was that all his "research" was from reddit and facebook pages written by people selling bullshit for a quick buck. He found sites with people talking about magic medicine that descended into just magic. His obsession with magic ran deep, because there had to be a way for his mother to wake up. Many of the techniques he found and paid for people to perform didn't work. He figured maybe it was something he could do himself, so he looked into novice magicians with the hopes someone could teach him something. The Coven was a page he recently discovered and frequented the most. In the pursuit of learning a new skill and making new friends he wanted to meet them. When he was asked about his magic ability, he said he's good at sensing emotions. Poor guy doesn't know that he's just empathetic and emotionally intelligent.
SKILLS & TALENTS
"If it's strength what more could you want?"
EMPATHY ⫻ Herik feels for people and feels with them. His gentle and happy nature is enough for people to speak about what's bothering them. He tries to help in the simplest way he can, because people make things complicated.
STRENGTH ⫻ He can easily lift 400lbs and his punches can break bones and bruise. He doesn't make a habit of getting into fights, since he knows he can do serious damage.
ATHLETIC ⫻ Herik works out four days a week. It takes a lot to get him tired. He's no marathon athlete, but he could keep up for four miles, before he has to tap out. Weightlifting is favorite thing to do. Some much so he has weights in his apartment, so he can work on his arms at home.
WRESTLING ⫻ He was a wrestling champ on the varsity team in high school, until his junior year when he was kicked off the team for an incident where he broke a guy's jaw with his fist.
CPR ⫻ Has to be good at for his job.
SWIMMING ⫻ He's a strong swimmer. If it's not a storm, he can swim through rough waves.
ABSTRACTION
"I used to be the most normal dude here."
TYPE ⫻ One-Eye-Open; Awakened via transfer from his mother ABSTRACTION ⫻ He'd been exposed to his mother's gravitational ability for almost thirty years, before she went into a coma.
His mother's abstraction is gravitational push and pull.
ABSTRACTION DESCRIPTION ⫻ He can see Extra-Normal abilities in action. He's always written this off as normal and never understood it wasn't normal, because for as long as he could remember he's always had this sight. The way he understands it is, some people have it and some people don't.
Herik's manifestation of gravitational push and pull comes in the form of his lion tattoo disappearing from his arm into a translucent beast. A sigil appears in its place and when the lion goes back to his arm it's underneath it. When it grabs an object with it's teeth it pulls back to Herik, bringing it to him. To push an object away it rams into it and repels it. The lion can only work within a 100ft radius of Herik. It can pull objects within 100ft or push objects away 100ft. He's taken to affectionately calling his lion Asta.
LIMITS ⫻ It can pull any one object to him at a time and push away one object. He can't pull and push at the same time nor move more than one object at a time.
OTHER
"Hope today is better than yesterday, and tomorrow is better than today."
Herik's going through a depression slump right now. He's trying to stay positive, but it's hard with friends dying and the group getting into one dangerous adventure after another.

Opinion
Emily G. Reed
Emily has changed a little. I used to think she was the type to do things alone and do it her way, but she's more introspective than I thought. She asked Vashti and I for help, and we asked for help in return. Our goals are similar. With a new understanding I know we'll figure out a solution to our problems together.
Madison Brown
Madison is one more bad idea from getting herself killed. Between confronting the Hound and sneaking onto Schmidt's boat she's spiraling. She's not levelheaded anymore about her decisions. If she continues to jump head first into trouble she might find herself in a situation she can't fight her way out of and bring the Coven down with her.
Claudette Jones
RIP
Maya Choi
Maya has really gotten worse or maybe she's been this bad the whole time and I was too optimistic to see it. The Outsider incident was mostly her fault. And I don't want to say she indirectly caused Ellie's death, so I'll keep that thought to myself.
Kayla Foster
Kayla's disappeared a few weeks ago. I hope she's okay.
Izzy Sasaki
RIP
Ellie Hart
RIP
Sin Salverson
Sin plays follow who's ever causing the most trouble. I think she's just along for the ride.
Lyss Burns
Lyss is our new - maybe - leader. I don't really know. She's pragmatic. Too pragmatic I think. I feel like she has her own agenda that doesn't align with not getting into trouble. There's things she's not telling us. I don't want to be in her business, I also want to know if she's involved with anything that could potentially get us all killed.
Vashti Nour
Vashti is amazing. I like her a lot. I've only known her a few days, but I feel more connected to her than anyone else in the Coven. It was probably the way she isn't afraid to be vulnerable with me. And according to Emily there's a green string between us. I don't know what that means, but I don't think it's a bad thing. Her, Emily, and I have more to discuss about how we're going to help each other.

APPEARANCE
"The best I've ever been."
For the longest time Stacey's hair was long and voluminous. He let it grow out when he hung out with wannabe hippies and didn't cut it, until he was long into his music career. Trying to capture Apparitions with long, untamed hair like his was a hazard, so he cute it short. His fans freaked out about it. Most lamented his hair, said they no longer had their daily dose of hair porn, but he kinda likes it manageable. Brings more attention to his handsome face. His skin tawny skin his flawless on his face. He keeps up a good skin care routine. The rest of his body is marked by old scars that remind him of the worst half of his life, but he's past the nightmares and depression. The anxiety was hard to kick, but it's not as prevalent as it was in his teen years. He's filled out, no longer the skinny kid he used to be. He doesn't workout, but he still has nice muscle definition. He keeps his beard well groomed and trimmed down. His eyes are hazel, and change between light brown, green, and bluish gray sometimes. His eyes are consistently inconsistent. In his right ear are three piercings: lobe, upper lobe, and conch. He doesn't have any in his left ear. His style of clothing changes year to year. He doesn't get into trends, but he likes what he likes when he's in the mood for something different. Right now he's into long side open tank tops and skinny jeans, leather jackets, and silver rings. Sometimes he wears rings on all his fingers, others just on a few, depends on what he feels like when he gets up in the morning.
PSYCHOLOGY
"I do what I want when I want."
MAIN GOAL ⫻ To capture strong Apparitions for his collection and Florida's a hot bed for activity lately.
WHAT THEY WANT OUT OF THE COVEN ⫻ Stacey's heard word around that the Outsider was bested by a group of novice magical girls. The Outsider shouldn't be in the hands of people that'll fuck around and let it get loose again. He wants in, so he can get it.
PHILOSOPHY ⫻ People are selfish assholes, so fuck them and worry about yourself. Someone is always out to get something from you, even if it takes a long time they'll eventually stab you in the back. Always look over your shoulder.
SECRETS ⫻ Stacey murdered his whole family and his first girlfriend. He'll gladly say he did it when the statue of limitations is over. That's in another decade or so. Then again normal people wouldn't believe he turned them to stone, but DENS will definitely be on his ass. He doesn't want trouble with the feds.
SEXUALITY ⫻ Bisexual. He leans more towards women, but an attractive man is an attractive man. Doesn't ask him to be in a solid relationship though. He's here for a good time, not a commitment.
FEARS ⫻ Death via Apparition and Life imprisonment, but not in jail. A jail couldn't hold him. He doesn't want to be cursed or Abscised. He's seen it happen before and it was terrifying to think it could've been him once a upon a time.
REPUTATION ⫻ Stacey is a global rock star. Millions of followers on all his social media, concerts, four albums, he's noticeable on the street that's for sure. He's taken to hiding his identity whenever he has to duel or wants to go out and about in public. He's got a big fanbase in Tampa. It's hella annoying.
FLAWS ⫻ Stacey doesn't trust anyone. Everyone has an angle and he does his best to find out what it is and exploit it if he can. He's out for his own self-interest. He doesn't mind hurting people to get what he wants. He doesn't beat people up, but a curse here and there doesn't make him lose sleep at night.
BACKSTORY
"The dark days are over, but still hasn't found the sun."
When Stacey was seventeen, he and a group of people were spirited away to another dimension by a ghost girl. He was only there for a few days, but those few day changed him for the better he would say. He stopped letting people walk all over him, he stopped being afraid of people, though he's got a chip on his shoulder about blonde white women or white women that look like they'd be into alternative rock from the early 2000s. Don't ask. Upon his arrival home he was greeted by his family and ex-girlfriend. They pretended to be overjoyed to have him back after going missing for a few days, but he knew the truth. They just missed their punching bag. The first thing he did after his new found change was kill the people responsible for abusing him most of his life and his ex. He turned them to stone, then broke them into pieces so they'd never have the chance to break free. The only one he spared was Sandy. He's not sure where her statue ended up, but if the world ends she'll have a second chance at life.
He left home after he murdered them and ended up hitching hiking with a group of wanna be hippies that knew all about magic. No eminent danger, all the patience in the world, they liked his music, it was great. The two years he spent with them were the best years of his life, despite being riddled with nightmares of his family and being paranoid that someone will find out he's responsible for their deaths. When he left he had a demo album and more confidence in himself to achieve his rock star dreams. He spent two years getting his music out there to different record companies, playing in underground clubs, on the internet, anywhere he could get exposure. It finally happened for him when he was twenty-two. An up and coming record company saw his potential and signed him right away. Moon Star Records came through for him when they put his song Allure on the radio. It hit the charts and over night he had a big fanbase. It was more so pop-rock than his usual style, but it got his foot in the door.
Stacey's future was set. Fame, money, star power, everything he ever wanted and could ever want he had to the point he got bored. Writing music was the only thing that kept him entertained, but he couldn't do that all the time. It was part of his job now, so what could he do when he wanted a break? A woman named Erika paid for VIP tickets at one of his concerts for the chance to meet him. She introduced him to something he didn't know existed: Apparition dueling. He knew about Apparitions. When he was in another other dimension one wanted to kill him, but dueling was new. She said she knew he was extra-normal when she went to his first concert tour and heard him play Allure. His guitar glowed and sigils appeared around it. She had One-Eye-Open and thought he'd be a wonderful addition to the underground ring her father ran. He went to one to watch what it was all about and loved every minute of it. Extra-normals sealed Apparitions and used them to battle in a ring. No matter who hosted the events the rules were the same: 1. No deaths, and 2. Loser had to give up the Apparition they fought with to the winner. It was all in good fun as long as people didn't make bets that put them in the red.
Stacey wanted in, but he had to get an Apparition first. The group he traveled with in his last teens told him how to seal an Apparition, but didn't put it into practice. He didn't have a reason to, so he had to trial and error it. The problem was that he couldn't get strong Apparitions, because they'd kill him or take his body so he had to go for weaker ones. Ones he didn't have to fight to seal them. He put them in various guitar picks he kept his guitar case, because they were small, light weight, and no one would question why he had them. His fight few fights in the ring weren't successful. He lost for months, lost most of his Apparitions to the point where he only had one left: Ikki. Ikki was a tiny yellow oblong blob that didn't have motivation to much other than fade away. He found it in a supposed to be haunted bed and breakfast in Oregon. It used to scare visitors whenever it'd speak to them or moved their stuff around to get their attention. It reminded Stacey of himself when he was younger and that's why he kept it and never put it in a fight. When he let it out, Ikki ate the other Apparition and absorbed its power. He didn't know it could do that. When he asked how it was that powerful later on, Ikki said it was never weak, but it didn't want to be alone anymore. It's attempts to get people to talk to it or interact with it were so it could ask them to take it with them. It'd been in that house for over a hundred years. It didn't even remember if it was human at one point or not. It was just waiting for the day someone wouldn't be afraid of it. It said that as long as Stacey didn't throw it away, then it'd do whatever he wanted.
After that Stacey won match after match, Ikki became stronger, and it was easier for him to fight stronger Apparitions to capture for dueling. Stacey became the guy to beat. After years of dueling he got kinda bored. He went from frequenting dueling matches to going once or twice a year to check out the competition. Maybe someone would be a challenge, but they never were. So he changed his focus from dueling for sport to collecting Apparitions in his private studio just to have them. The stronger they are the more he wants them. Apparitions weren't on his radar every day, so it was only something he did in his free time. While dueling got boring, his music thrived. He made songs and albums based on the Apparitions he woke to. The stories they told were fascinating and bizarre. He became well known for his lyrical content.
SKILLS & TALENTS
"Nothing out of the ordinary."
SING, WRITES AND PLAYS MUSIC ⫻ Can play the guitar and writes original songs. Without it he wouldn't be a rockstar.
BASIC FIRST AID ⫻ Knows his way around a first aid kit from practice on himself during his years of abuse. He'll tell you a lie every time about why he's almost as good as an EMT.
SENSES TROUBLE ⫻ Has a sense for when shits about to go bad from years of having to watch out for himself. He's very aware of the people around him and picks up on a bad atmosphere. Like the calm before a fight breaks out. Sometimes it helps to be closer to the door than everyone else, even if he doesn't get close enough out of dodge sometimes.
APPARITION DUELING ⫻ He's semi-retired from the game, but he can fight any Apparition any day of the week.
ABSTRACTION
"Stronger than ever."
TYPE ⫻ Adept | Blue Lux
ABSTRACTION ⫻ The channeler is his teal guitar. The sigil that activates when he uses his channeler.
ABSTRACTION DESCRIPTION ⫻ When Stacey first got his abstraction it only worked when he played his channeler, but he the older he got and the more experienced he became he realized it worked as long as he had it in the same room with him. Not having his guitar in his hands when casting a curse got him in the habit of just saying the curse aloud, instead of singing it. As long as the words are a poem that's at least a bar (four lines of lyrics) explaining what will happen and how to break it, then he can cast a curse. Curses that he cast can also be undone by him as long as he includes he can break his own curse in the poem.
Fears: This curse can make people hallucinate the thing they fear the most on and off, until Stacey says the trigger words. To break the curse sooner the person has to meet the conditions of the curse.
Stone: This curse turns people to stone. The only way to break it is if Stacey lets you go himself or the person meets the conditions to break free. He only uses this one when he wants someone dead. He rarely uses this curse, but when he does he destroys the statue right away so they can't come back. He's only ever spared one person.
Allure: This curse is a song that everyone that knows his music is familiar with. The chorus is a curse to make people stay his loyal fans forever. The amount of people he's cursed with this at concerts and live television is in the millions. Of all his curses this one is the hardest to break, because he doesn't know most of the people caught up in his spell.
Trap: This curse is the one he used to trap Apparitions in guitar picks for Apparition dueling. He's also trapped ones that he doesn't use for dueling. He's got a few nasties he can't let out, ever.
*Ikki is Stacey's Apparition sidekick that can make five nearly invisible clones at once that can eat the magic of its enemy and drains their power, giving Ikki a power boost. The boost increases the amount of magic it can take at a time.
LIMITS ⫻ The curses in his songs can bypass Emotional-Fields to an extent, each one interacts with emotional fields in different capacities. However, whoever listens to his songs, friend and foe alike, will be hit with the curse. Stacey cannot control who gets affected and who will not. Each curse has a different set of limits.
Fears: The curse can bypass emotional-fields partially. The Extra-Normal can be affected by it but the Emotional-Fields will eventually fight off the curse and the effects will be removed around five minutes, ten minutes at most. The Blind are affected permanently or as long as Stacey wills it. However, the curse can be broken if they face their fears and they will be immune to it.
Stone: The Extra-Normal are immune to the effects of the stone curse. Its effects are not instant and take a couple minutes for somebody to turn into stone if they were to use this time to meet the conditions of breaking the curse they are saved. Somebody can also return them to normal if they are the right type of Extra-Normal.
Allure: Again, the Extra-Normal are immune to the effects of this curse, however the Blind are not.
Trap: Stacey can trap one Apparition at a time, and he has no-decision in which one. Only the closet one will be sucked into his guitar and he can't instantly suck them in. There's a period where they can fight back, and he can only store up to ten Apparitions at a time. However, attempting to go over that limit will cause the guitar to be broken and all of his Apparitions to be released.
WEAKNESSES ⫻ Stacey is affected by his curses in various ways... Stacey will see the hallucinations from the fear curse but he can also ignore them. However, these hallucinations can impair his vision. The stone curse will partially turn him into stone for a period of time and will greatly slow him down - or even break and crack his skin. Stacey is susceptible to attack when he traps an Apparition within his guitar and his casting can be interrupted.
OTHER
"I keep this one close to my heart."
The first album Stacey ever made was called Sandy and the Cinderella Boy. He never released it to the public and he never will.

APPEARANCE
"Pour yourself a drink, put on some lipstick, and pull yourself together." - Elizabeth Taylor
Lyss has a sort of unblemished, untouched look to her beauty. While her height comes from her long legs, her torso is rather average with a toned figure and breasts that aren't too small nor too large. Her grandmother used to call her the brunette version of Snow White because of her pale complexion and dark brown hair. Her skin is smooth and unscarred. Her eyes are a striking hazel mostly comprised of blue flecks.
The only really girly aspect of Lyss is that she loves to wear makeup. She generally ignores things like foundation, blush, and bronzer, but loves to wear eyeshadow and lipstick. Generally her eyeshadow is a simple smoky eye to highlight her eye color. She then pairs it with a dark red or muave lip depending on her mood. The lipstick is her favorite, so it is rare to see her without it.
When it comes to clothing, Lyss rarely changes it up. Her wardrobe consists of dark colors like black, maroon, or navy. Her jeans are usually a dark washed denim or just black, and she wears either long sleeves or v-necks with them. If she ever wears any color, it is in the form of a bag or jacket. Her favorite jacket is a leather jacket with floral embellishments. She also owns a dark red leather jacket. Her feet are either covered in black boots, converse, or slip-on sneakers.
PSYCHOLOGY
"Life isn't black and white. It's a million gray areas, don't you find?" - Ridley Scott
MAIN GOAL ⫻ To carry on her family's name. To survive this messed up world. Maybe even save a few lives while she's at it. Dunno. She's not the "hero" type. She would also like to learn how to seal an apparition into her channeler for a power boost. She's been unsuccessful until now.
WHAT THEY WANT OUT OF THE COVEN ⫻ Lyss wouldn't mind being around others like her. Her grandmother was in one, years ago. Why not try it out? Maybe they'll become a family too.
PHILOSOPHY ⫻ Everyone is just trying to get by. Doesn't mean you can be a dick about it, though.
SECRETS ⫻ Lyss may or may not have worked in the black market to get by until now. She may have made some enemies, too, but she knows how to cover her tracks.
SEXUALITY ⫻ Asexual. Lyss has only ever been romantic with one man, but it just wasn't her thing.
FEARS ⫻ Death. Failure. Pretty typical stuff.
REPUTATION ⫻ Her family name has a long line of powerful witches and warlocks. They were first known as great necromancers, but as the earth evolved, they had to evolve too. Necromancy was looked down upon because it was often misused, so their name also carries a bad meaning as well. By the time Alyssa's grandmother met her grandfather, most of the Burns resorted to less horrifying uses of the black lux.
FLAWS ⫻ After being alone for so long, Lyss has grown to be quite blunt with her words. She's forgotten the meaning of "white lies" and prefers to keep her words and actions as obvious as possible. She'll let you know when you're wrong.
BACKSTORY
"I owe it all to my grandma."
The Burns family name carries meaning. Whether that meaning is looked upon in a good or bad way, Alyssa's family didn't care. Her mother worked with apparitions and spirits, while her father practiced necromancy like her grandfather. Her parents traveled often, so Alyssa was raised by her grandmother. After her grandfather died, Alyssa's dad became more obsessed with keeping the Burns necromancy tradition alive. Eventually on one of his trips, he lost his life to his passion. Alyssa's mother and grandmother weren't sure it it was by his own hands, or by those who opposed necromancy. Either way, Alyssa knew that he could never resurrect himself. She was six when he passed. She wasn't emotionally grown enough to feel the grief of it. Yes, she missed him, but she didn't know why her mother cried all of the time. Or why her mother left her. She just remembered her mother walking out of the door.
So, her grandmother took full responsibility of Alyssa. She took her to school, fed her, clothed her, and became Alyssa's life. When Alyssa turned 13, her grandmother handed down her family ring and began to teach her the ways of the Black Lux. Alyssa found her niche in the warding and trapping of apparitions, just like her grandmother had. The two became quite happy living together. In Alyssa's opinion, they never really needed anyone else. Her grandmother was the only Burns she needed to learn what her family name meant.
They were happy for years after, but when Alyssa entered high school her grandmother grew ill. She held on as tightly as she could to life for Alyssa, but after a year of medication she passed. Alyssa was devastated. She tried as hard as she could to bring her grandmother back, but she just wasn't taught to use the Burns lux that way. She even tried to summon her spirit, but that only put her into a day long coma.
When she woke, she learned that she would be travelling to Florida to live with a distantly related Burns family. Apparently her grandmother had been their aunt. She lived with them until she turned 18, but never grew a familial bond with them. At 18 she moved out, and tried to live life on her own.
It didn't go as planned, unfortunately. She fell into some debt, struggled with jobs, and met a man that wasn't a good influence on her. Basically, she got in with the wrong crowd. Until recently, Alyssa worked with some pretty shady characters in Miami. She managed to get herself out of it, and set her sights on joining the coven to right the wrongs of her past.
SKILLS & TALENTS
"I know a thing... or two."
Tracking ⫻ Alyssa can track anything or anyone down. Just give her a name and some time. Maybe even a few tracking spells, too.
Cooking ⫻ Learned it all from her grandmother. She can whip up anything under the sun. Just name it.
Firepower ⫻ After her time in the market, Alyssa has learned that it's always a good idea to carry a gun.
Knows a few People that Know Certain Things ⫻ Alyssa understands how the underworld works. She still has some friends there, even though she's made herself disappear from that world.
ABSTRACTION
"Who ya gonna call? Haha, I'm just kidding."
TYPE ⫻ Adept (Black)
ABSTRACTION ⫻ Manipulation of Apparitions and Spirits. Recent Necromancy Casting *Channeler:* A ring passed down by her ancestors. Given to her by her grandmother.
ABSTRACTION DESCRIPTION ⫻ Alyssa has the ability to ward and trap apparitions to her liking. She has also been able to summon up to two undead with the use of casting a Necromancy sigil.
Warding ⫻ If it is necessary, Alyssa can keep apparitions away from her or others as long as they are within a certain distance. The epicenter is located in her ring and she emits her lux energy into the space around her.
Trapping ⫻ Trapping can mean two things. Either Alyssa traps an apparition into a certain "bubble" of space for an x amount of time, or she traps it into a physical object. When she traps them into an area, one of the outer edges are where her ring begins. So, she could carry the spirit into a different place with her if she keeps her focus on the apparition. Trapping it into a physical object is much harder, but is a faster way to trap a spirit.
AURA SENSING ⫻ A suiting aura, Alyssa is able to sense when apparitions are within her range. She can track them down this way because the feeling will grow stronger the closer she is to them. She is also able to sense apparitions that are within aberrations.
LIMITS ⫻ The distance of Alyssa's warding is up to seventy feet and comes with a few stipulations. She can physically keep them distanced from her but they can still utilize their abstractions within the distance and possibly attack her. However the more apparitions she's trying to keep away the less distance she'll have. At her peak, she can keep away three before the distance drops. Alyssa can trap an Apparition within a thirty-foot radius of herself... which is pretty close to her - if she's not trapping them into an object. She can keep an Apparition trapped for about thirty minutes before it can break free and she can only trap one Apparition at a time, but again it's limited by her stamina. She can trap an Apparition within an object indefinitely because she's functionally sealing them. She can keep an Apparition trapped or warded for as long as her stamina allows it but its a very consuming process on her. She can only do one or the other, so if she's warding, and she needs to trap an Apparition, then she'll have to stop one to do the other. Of course, she cannot trap or Ward Apparitions that are Agents or Adjoined to somebody but can trap an Apparition that is affixed to somebody. She is also able to trap or ward an abscised. Duh.
WEAKNESSES ⫻ There's nothing stopping the Apparitions from using their abstractions when they're trapped/warded. Which can be kinda ugly. The outer barriers of the trap/ward can be physically attacked and damaged and can be destroyed by sending enough firepower that way. Which will stun Alyssa for a second. Any Apparition of significant caliber can easily destroy the Ward/Trap.

APPEARANCE
“And I once thought I was a sideshow attraction back in middle school just because of a little acne..."
Vashti is an animated girl composed of bouncy steps and swinging arms. Her voice is musical and bubbly. Her modest build is hidden in slightly oversized layers of dark, conservative clothing and a loose headscarf. She claims that she wears so much just because she’s always freezing, joking that she must be cold-blooded. What skin she shows is a rich, olive tone. Her outfits, while simplistic, are almost entirely from pricey, name-brand designers, and Vashti seems to have an expensive watch for every day of the week.
However, Vashti is hiding a number of secrets under her layers of clothing. She was cursed, and her curse has left her with several physical deformities that’d instantly make head turns if noticed in public. Her knuckles are visibly dried and cracked, but past her wrist her dry skin begins to transition into dark gray scales that transition back to normal just beyond her front shoulders. The scales are more abundant on her backside, coming from a point at the top of her spinal cord before flaring out to her arms then tapering to the small of her back. Her feet are webbed between the second and third toe and she has a small, vestigial tail that makes it uncomfortable to sit in certain chairs. Whatever has happened to her, it’s going to ruin any beach days from here on out.
Luckily, her face is relatively unchanged. She wears a light amount of makeup that accentuates her dark features and spends a small fortune on product to fight back the frizz from taking control of her black, curly hair. Her eyes are so dark it's difficult to see the pupil, her eyebrows are full, and her face is overly animated and prone to express her true feelings. Despite appearing “normal” from the neck up, there are still a few things off about Vashti’s face. Noticeably, when her eyes hit a certain light her pupils appear slitted, she seems to have a few extra canine teeth in her mouth, and if she brushes back her hair the outer part of her ears are practically nubs.
PSYCHOLOGY
"I want to believe that impulses are just the act of people choosing to give in to their lizard brain. We can all try to be better."
MAIN GOAL ⫻ Vashti would rather be in control of her curse than be cured of it. That power is now a part of her, and she can’t just throw it away. She’ll tame her wild side so that only she is in charge of when it gets unleashed.
Survive.
WHAT THEY WANT OUT OF THE COVEN ⫻ Security. Until she has utterly dominated her impulses, Vashti wants to be around people who will at least believe what she is going through. Ideally, she believes they’d help keep her from letting go, or at the very least steer her in the right direction when she does.
Escape.
PHILOSOPHY ⫻ Watching your own back is a great way to run face first into a wall; watching someone else’s back lets you see it coming. Community is more important than the individual—to a point.
Fight.
SECRETS ⫻ Vashti is a pretty huge conspiracy theorist and occultist, and even before her induction into the Extra-Normal world had a serious belief in ghosts, demons, and bigfoots. She tries to keep the tin foil hat away from new acquaintances.
More importantly, there’s her curse. It’s a little more involved than some dry skin and a few deformities, but she doesn’t openly talk about that part to just anyone.
Dominate.
SEXUALITY Straight.
Procreate.
FEARS ⫻ Losing her sense of self, being a burden, and reptiles.
Predators.
REPUTATION ⫻ Vibrantly upbeat, overwhelmingly supportive, and a constant seeker of silver linings, the girl is marred by an overly-aggressive competitive streak and strong convictions that she’d loudly voice if she finds them crossed. She’s motherly at best, but at her worst Vashti can be an unwanted busybody sticking her nose where it doesn’t belong.
Queen.
FLAWS ⫻ Vashti, as much as she denies it, is ruled by her emotions and her impulses. When she loses her grip on control, she really loses it.
Shackled.
BACKSTORY
”Save your crocodile tears for a real tragedy. All in all, things could be worse. I could’ve been a hamster."
Vashti is the second daughter of wealthy Iranian immigrants living in Jacksonville, Florida. While she never felt strongly connected to her family’s Islamic faith, Vashti had a deep interest in spiritualism from a young age. Originally birthed from a zodiac fad amongst the other middle school girls who Vashti attended private school with, Vashti’s interest in pseudosciences only deepened as they moved on to talking about boys and fashion. From crystal healing to cryptozoology and ancient aliens to fake moon landings, if it was weird and abnormal then Vashti couldn’t get enough of it. With no peers to talk to about the hollow moon in real life, Vashti sought refuge in the same place all lonely weirdos end up going: internet forums.
After years of late nights spent staring at grainy photographic proof and arguing in circles with total strangers, Vashti’s decision to become a cryptozoologist was solidified. Unfortunately, no universities really offered any courses on the subject, but a university in Miami did have an excellent zoology program. Vashti packed everything up and moved into the dorms. Free from her family, she no longer had to go through the motions of being Muslim and left her headscarf in its box. Vashti was certain that she’d be focused on her studies during her freshman year, but without having to worry about what her parents would think her studies drifted into the background. The only subjects that seemed to actually hold her attention was getting a doctorate in beer pong and bong rips and a masters in the human anatomy of the boy from Room 2C.
Gradually, her interests in the paranormal softened as the college lifestyle became her new outlet for fun, but it never fully disappeared. Vashti regularly talked to some of the people she had met online, and one of them lived fairly close to her school. They were a person named Sandy Burch, and they claimed to be a practitioner of chaos magic who offered to give Vashti some lessons if she was interested. Understandably skeptical but curious enough to test the waters, Vashti agreed to meet at a coffee shop. Vashti’s gut told her to leave immediately when the Sandy Burch that showed up wasn’t a frumpy, old woman whose fashion sense had stopped in the seventies but a middle-aged male with a severe widow’s peak, but when Sandy started speaking she found herself fascinated by him. They stayed at the coffee shop until close, and Vashti agreed to meet him again to study chaos magic as his apprentice.
They met publically for months, and Vashti always found herself deeply enthralled by their conversations about magical theory and general bullshit. When she mentioned her interest in cryptids after he had said something about the Gatorboy of Cypress Swamp, Sandy told her that she could actually manifest them through the use of chaos magic—she just needed a place to achieve gnosis first. Vashti mentioned that she had tried before but always found it impossible to achieve the zen-like state in her dorm room. When he suggested trying it at his place her gut told her it was a horrible idea while her mouth said, “What a great idea!”
His place was a dingy little shithole by the swamp that gave spooky psycho killer vibes on the outside, and creepy cult leader vibes on the inside. Yet despite the unsettling place and the animalistic fear inside of her fighting to run away, she managed to achieve gnosis. She singularly focused all of her mental energy on visualizing the Gatorboy cryptid and summoning it to reality through the strength of her belief alone. Naturally, it didn’t work. The Gatorboy was bullshit, as was her ability to perform “real” chaos magic.
However, what was real was Sandy’s abilities as a magician, who over months had used his powers of suggestion to trap Vashti in a catatonic state. Cryptids, he said, were fake and only an idiot like her would believe in them; Apparitions, however, were a whole other thing. He had been using chaos magic to instill the belief in himself that he could create an Apparition from a human being, and she had presented herself as the perfect, suggestible subject. He would turn her into the Leviathan, a chaotic creature of pure power that his months of indoctrination would allow him to have total control over.
All of Vashti’s instincts were screaming at her to run away, but she couldn’t move as Sandy began drawing a ritualistic summoning circle around her. As the circle was completed and the summoning began Vashti felt like her body was being torn to shreds. She watched in horror as her skin began to flake off as scales erupted from underneath, and it was then that her lizard brain assumed total control over her body. As Sandy beckoned for the Leviathan to emerge, Vashti’s body broke free of its status and moved on its own as it transformed into a monstrous mashup of human and reptile.
The core issue of chaos magic is that it was, by definition, chaotic, and Vashti’s childish belief in the fricking Gatorboy had altered the outcome. She was one part Leviathan, one part idiotic cryptid, and zero parts Vashti—which, Sandy discovered, had been the only part he could control about a moment before her claws had torn open his ribcage and her jaws had snatched out his heart. It was a very quick, very painful death, and one that a terrified Vashti witnessed through the eyes of the out of control monster that proceeded to tear Sandy limb from limb. Only when the threat on her life was completely destroyed did Vashti transform back into an extremely terrified, extremely bloodied, and disgustingly full girl.
She fled the crime scene in Sandy’s truck, and made it back to her dorm in one piece. She passed out for the night and woke up late the following day to a knock on her door. She pretended that she wasn’t there and waited until night to sneak out. Vashti didn’t know where she was going, but she knew she couldn’t stay in a crowded school. All day she felt the Leviathan swimming around in her subconscious. Vashti wrapped herself back up in her headscarf and conservative clothing to hide her new, monstrous features and hopped in Sandy’s truck. She drove aimlessly away from Miami, but the sight of a DUI checkpoint filled her with fear. The Leviathan awoke for the second time.
Instead of attacking the monster tore out of the truck and took off towards the nearest body of water, but not before some low quality cellphone footage of it was caught by another driver. The Gatorboy of Cypress Swamp not only had moved to Miami, Florida, but apparently had a few too many Landsharks that night and didn’t want to lose its license, or so the top comment on the video said. Other comments boasted about it being a hoax, a shitty marketing ploy of Project: Worlds Unknown, or an escaped Paragon Labcorp experiment. The car was traced back to Sandy Burch, suspected drug dealer and known weirdo; current police theory is that some meth head went ballistic, murdered Sandy for some dope, stole his car, and drowned in the river. Possibly a mascot for a local football team.
Vashti didn’t drown in the river. When she emerged she was normal again, or at least as normal as she could be now with her webbed feet and scaly arms. Over the following week, rumors spread like wildfire about the Gatorboy being sighted all over Southern Florida, destroying convenience stores and tearing through the wilderness. A few people even got hurt during her rampage. Most were just injured by her rampant destruction, either getting knocked out of the way by her tail or crushed by something destroyed by her, but two men were in critical condition and one was dead after a hunting party had mistaken her for an alligator in the water and tried to wrangle her. Who knows how many people in Florida would be terrorized by the Gatorboy of Cypress Swamp if not for Kimberly Walton?
The host of the popular web series had tracked down and tackled the Leviathan, sealing the Apparition away in a photo but still leaving behind a scaly Vashti. Kimberly recommended that Vashti seek the Coven to help tackle her curse, reassuring her that the Apparition was sealed and wouldn’t wreck havoc anymore. Starstruck and grateful, Vashti swallowed her urge to ask if she’d be featured on an episode and agreed to listen to the actual ghost hunter. Kimberly gave Vashti a contact number on the back of an old polaroid just in case and the two parted ways. However, as Vashti grabbed the photo from Kimberly she felt herself overwhelmed with an absolute dread from deep inside of her gut. Vashti was on the outskirts of Tampa within the next couple of hours and checked herself into a roadside motel for the night.
As she dreamt she saw herself standing on the beach. The clouds were dark and dangerous, and a cool rain had begun to sting her face. The wind kicked up, thunder clapped, and lightning streaked across the sky as out-of-town beachgoers jumped up from underneath their giant parasols and ran from the shoreline screaming. One of them bumped against her and Vashti turned her head to call out to them, her words being beaten back by the howling wind. She turned back to the ocean in time to see the black tidal wave looming overhead. She could hardly open her mouth to scream as it came crashing down on her. She felt herself being dragged out to the ocean by the undertow, but as she kicked against it she realized it wasn’t the water that had a hold on her: it was the Leviathan. A rush of bubbles escaped from her mouth as another hand latched on to her leg and began to fillet her, the salt stinging her open wounds as the blood sparked a feeding frenzy.
Vashti jolted awake. She could hear water overflowing from the bathroom. Kimberley’s phone number was missing. A buried memory, as if she were viewing it through a secret pinhole in a picture frame, surfaced of the Leviathan’s claws, her claws, tearing the picture to ribbons and flushing it down the sink. For the time being, the Coven was her only option.
SKILLS & TALENTS
"Does laying out in the sun count?"
[Swimming] ⫻ While not normally a beach goer, Vashti’s mutated body has made her a more than accomplished swimmer. She could qualify for the Olympics if they wouldn’t immediately disqualify her for using performance-enhancing curses.
[Breath-holding] ⫻ Her physical changes have made it so that Vashti is capable of holding her breath for almost an hour. However, her body rapidly slows down the longer she holds her breath to the point where she can’t do anything but sit still and think after a few minutes.
[Divination] ⫻ As in, fortune telling. As in, the bullsht kind. Vashti has a deep interest and knowledge pool of all things astrology, tarot, palm-reading, and anything else along the line of chicanery. It’s a fun distraction at best, and a useless creator of superstition at worst.
[Chaos Magic] ⫻ Also bullshit. Vashti cannot do magic. What Vashti can do is, given the right circumstances, enter into a zen-like state of gnosis to singularly focus all of her mental energy on one goal, and then if that goal happens to get achieved later she’ll call it magic. It’s not. It's a coincidence. It’s just a silly, nerdy way to refer to the power of positive thinking. However, it does have some use when it comes to her abstraction.
ABSTRACTION
“I always believed in these kinds of mythological creatures. I just never believed I’d become the living embodiment of Chaoskampf."
TYPE ⫻ Aberration (Afflicted)
ABSTRACTION ⫻ The Leviathan of Primordial Chaos, Vashti’s curse to lose control over her body and transform into a terrible monster whenever she feels a strong enough emotion that triggers her fight or flight response.
The Tempest, the Leviathan’s abstraction to create a massive storm that grows in power and destructibility overtime.
ABSTRACTION DESCRIPTION ⫻ Less poetically known as the Gatorboy of Cypress Swamp, Vashti transforms into an Apparition whenever she reaches a breaking point. Generally, a triggering is caused whenever her lizard brain, instincts, gut, or whatever you prefer to call it wins out over her rational mind. Feeling physically threatened or being angered beyond reason are likely ways to unleash the Leviathan, but it can emerge from other sources too such as a feeling of a complete loss of control—be it from being surrounded by a storm of chaos or getting choked and smothered by an oppressive amount of order. Potentially, if Vashti does not control her emotions and find a way to balance and harmonize them then too much of anything could push her into transformation territory.
Once a transformation has started it is almost instant. The dark, gray scales on her arms and back rapidly spread to the rest of her body, her fingers form into claws, she ripples with muscle, sprouts a massive, powerful tail, and her face shifts into a bastardized amalgamation of an alligator, a serpent, and a human complete with a ear-to-ear mouth full of razor sharp teeth that stretches like that of a snakes. Turning into the Leviathan makes Vashti incredibly powerful. Her scales protect her from normal methods of harm, effectively rendering her bullet and cut resistant. Her claws can easily shred through most metal, and her tail is strong enough to smash through concrete. Her jaws can get large enough to dismember a person in one bite. Although a bit lumbering when on land, in the water the Leviathan version of Vashti moves with incredible speed and grace, capable of keeping pace with a motorboat.
Unfortunately for Vashti, the Leviathan is an animal that acts on instinct and instinct alone. She has absolutely no control over it, yet it also has no real higher motivations of its own. Instead, the cause of the transformation will determine how the Leviathan acts. The obvious examples are that if it emerges from fear it will flee from whatever it is afraid of, leaving wanton destruction in its wake as it tries to escape, whereas if it emerged from fury it’d keep attacking until it utterly destroys what made it so angry. However, it gets more bizarre than that: the Leviathan that emerged from having too much fun would try to keep playing, although is too rough to be anything but dangerous, or the Leviathan that came to from feeling sad will wail loudly for hours. Pray the Leviathan never gets attracted to someone. Either way, the Leviathan will remain in control until it has found closure on whatever caused it to transform, or has been knocked around enough to retreat.
Since the Leviathan is an Apparition, normal Apparition rules apply to it. Therefore, if it is in “flight” mode most Blind will not be able to physically see it but rather the destruction it leaves behind, while if it’s in “fight” mode it’ll manifest itself to them if they were a threat. The Apparition itself is powered by believing in chaos, hence how whenever it appears it creates absolute bedlam regardless of the situation. Interestingly enough, the Leviathan can and has been sealed away. However, Vashti’s curse still means that the Leviathan appears whenever things become “chaotic” for her. While it’s likely that the belief in utter chaos is strong enough that the seals on the Leviathan are easily broken, part of Vashti is concerned that she is actually creating a new Apparition everytime it is unleashed.
The Tempest, the Leviathan’s Abstraction, is only triggered when Vashti feels a strong enough fight response when transforming into the Leviathan. When the Leviathan is on the offensive, it’s Abstraction calls in massive storm clouds that darken the area around it—up to a quarter mile around the Leviathan. Rain begins to fall in massive sheets almost immediately, followed by thunder, lightning, and howling winds. The longer the Leviathan is around the stronger the storm becomes. After about ten minutes, lightning starts to strike the earth and the wind begins to blow around large debris. If the storm rages on for longer, say about thirty minutes or so, it creates miniature tornadoes and cyclones. After an hour, the storm creates massive flash flooding. Since it’s a being of chaos the Leviathan has no actual control over the storm. It only serves as the focal point of the destructive storm.
AURA SENSING ⫻ Gnosis, Vashti’s connection with the Leviathan. If she is able to clear her mind and enter a meditative state”, the girl can sense what current thing the Leviathan is beginning to react to and try to avoid any further stimulation by narrowing her focus onto another thing.
LIMITS ⫻ The Leviathan is still affected by Emotional-Fields and it acts as a barrier that'll protect the extra-Normal from the full extent of its strength. They won't be able to one-shot an Awakened or tear them to pieces easily for example. There's also the fact that the storm won't directly affect the Extra-Normal at all, almost like there was a barrier around them. Vashti can only transform into the Leviathan once a day and can remain in this state for a few hours or else she'll transform back on her own.
There's also the fact that she's unable to control it and that jazz.
WEAKNESSES ⫻ Just to be clear, the Leviathan is freaking dumb and easily tricked. It has a single minded goal and that could be used to manipulate or deceive the thing. The Leviathan is also affected by its own storm like the blind and can be struck by lightning, hit with debris, etc, etc. The Leviathan, on land, is incredibly slow and lumbering and can be outpaced by somebody jogging like a true mighty glacier. In terms of elements it's weak against the cold (due to its nature as an alligator) and electric-based attacks (especially in the water). This probably won't come up but the Leviathan's emotional field allows abilities that can manipulate emotions to affect it a lot worse than usual.

Emily
I don't know if Emily would call us friends, but I like to think that's the case. She might not be the most pleasant person I've ever met, but she doesn't necessarily seem like the super bitch that the others warned me she would be. Between her, Herik, and myself I know we'll find a way to lift curses.
Weakling.
Madison
We got off on the wrong foot and its only gotten worse from there. Look, I'm sorry, but I don't think being drunk is an excuse for acting like an asshole. I can't deny her ability to kick ass, but I'm not going to let her intimidate me and keep me from speaking my mind. Still, I'm going to try and clear the air between the two of us before writing her off completely.
Competition.
Claudette
It's pretty clear that she's good friends with Madison, which means that it's pretty clear that she probably doesn't like me. She's not as outright antagonistic, but with her being the leader I feel like I'm always walking on eggshells now. Still, I bet she'd be more willing to take an apology from me than Madison.
Inconsequential.
Lyss
Regardless of what anyone says, herself included, she is the actual leader of the Coven. She seems levelheaded, comparatively speaking, to the other girls, and is smart enough to listen to someone when they disagree with her. I just hope I didn't rub her the wrong way with any of my outbursts. There's something about her that puts me on edge, though.
Dangerous.
Maya
You cannot give someone magic like it's the fricking clap, bro!
Disinterested.
Sin
Wait, no, it was Quinn, right? She told me she was the world's best summoner. I haven't met another summoner, so I'll have to take her word for it. She seems friendly, which is a nice change of pace from the others.
Curiosity
Herik
I keep waiting for the other shoe to drop. Herik is a nice guy, like, an actual nice guy, not the kind that says he's a nice guy and then blows your phone up for not replying back to a text immediately. He makes the Coven bearable. I have absolutely no idea what he sees in me, I mean, does he even see anything in me? We're just friends. I think.

[Tenacious]
APPEARANCE
"Just another dumb blonde, right?"
Penny has a lean, athletic build. Her skin is no longer oversaturated in foundation and bottled tanners, allowing an array of sun-baked freckles to blossom on her lightly tanned skin. She keeps most of her makeup limited to her lips and her blue eyes, or so she claims. Likewise, her smile has definitely always been this white and was not treated with any kind of product. Penny has slight muscle definition and even slighter curves. Her right arm is covered in a sleeve of flowery tattoos and her left inner forearm hides a tattoo of a wand surrounded by roses. A sigil of spiraling squares can be seen centered just below her collarbone. Another sigil of a bird can be seen near her left shoulder blade.
Her style is heavily-lifted from fashion blogs that some would turn their noses up at and scoff at as “basic”. Penny comes dressed for vacation, tending towards summer dresses accompanied by straw hats and cheap sunglasses. Due to the implication of her being in Florida, there is always some sensibility to Penny’s outfit: she wears spandex shorts beneath her dress and running shoes. Her blonde hair is dyed a few shades lighter than its natural color, and she lets it fall just below her shoulders. She ruins whatever style she has with a red fanny pack that is just brimming with equipment.
She comes off as confident to the point of cockiness and moves with a kind of hurried impatience. Her voice is high pitched and exhausting, both in the sense that she sounds as if she’s almost out of breath and it can be tiresome to hear her speak. She stands with her pointed chin held high and her eyes on constant overwatch, with her hand always resting near the zipper of her bag like a gunslinger stepping out into the street at high noon.
PSYCHOLOGY
"I’m pretty much the best shot we got."
MAIN GOAL ⫻ Penny is a simple girl with the simple aspirations of saving the world from total annihilation. Typical shit, right? Currently, she is looking into the Forgiven to find out more about Luther Saul, but her hunt won’t stop her from handling any rogue Extra-Normals in the meantime.
WHAT THEY WANT OUT OF THE COVEN ⫻ Penny’s fully behind the idea of a group of Extra-Normal women getting together to watch each other’s back, but she doubts she’d run into them. Surely they won’t do anything stupid. She wants nothing for them, currently.
PHILOSOPHY ⫻ Shimmer, with all of its faults, is fucking wonderful and she will do whatever she can to make sure that it continues to be around. She’s a one-woman rebellion smashing down the palace gates of apathy, an unstoppable force of dynamic determination. She’ll poke her head into every dark corner, ask the questions nobody wants to hear, and take actions when others will hesitate.
SECRETS ⫻ There’s nothing that Penny won’t do to protect Shimmer. Nothing.
SEXUALITY ⫻ She’s a bit more focused on her mission than her libido.
FEARS ⫻ Failure. She knows there are others out there she can rely on if she falters, but she doesn’t like the idea of being a burden.
REPUTATION ⫻ Despite the things she has helped accomplish it is nearly nonexistent, especially in Florida. Her friends know her as a force to be reckoned with, a dependable and unrelenting woman who will never back down to any challenge. They also recognize that she is bullheaded and reckless when it comes to a fight, and quick to judge something as a friend or foe.She is the loyalest of allies and the fiercest of enemies.
FLAWS ⫻ She has finally dropped her guard and started to let people in, but that has only reinforced her idea that she must be the one to carry the weight. Her cockiness has transcended beyond overconfidence; she’s a gallant knight armored in a discount dress from H&M. Penny relentlessly pushes herself forward with an almost reckless abandon. If something were to harm her friend, she would be the one to seek retribution. If someone had to risk their life, she would be the first in line. Penny truly has begun to see herself as untouchable, nigh indestructible.
She’s not.
BACKSTORY
"Just a small town girl, trying to protect a stupid world."
Born and raised in Farmer Hill, Penny shedded the popular girl typecast she had molded herself into after the disappearance of her younger brother, Henry. Determined to find out the truth about her missing brother, she spent the next four years of her life alienating herself from the rest of the town with her standoffish attitude and aggressive behavior while searching for Henry. She spent years trudging through the woods looking for him long after the police investigation had been called off, not realizing that she’d walked over the self-made grave Henry had accidentally teleported himself into multiple times. As it turns out, her little brother was an Awakened. Penny herself would undergo her own Awakening at a summer campout her older brother Billy was forced to drag her along to after the sheriff’s son and general town dick, Scott Reese, was corrupted by the Glutton and began massacring her peers.
The survivors gathered together to stop the Glutton, but working together was a tall order for a pariah like Penny. She went off on her own to save some girls from the rampaging Reese and nearly got herself killed if not for the intervention of Claire and Justin. From that moment Penny began working more closely with the other survivors, eventually leading the group alongside Justin once her old popular friend Britney lost the group’s faith. Together they led the remaining Awakened into the Glutton’s lair inside of the mountain near their old summer camp.
However, before they could eliminate the Glutton the daughter of the town’s former guardian, Sharon, murdered Penny’s friend Lynette to get her Abstraction. Penny split from the group to hunt Sharon down, avenging her friend and stopping the destruction of the mountain. She regrouped with Justin and the others and together they took down the Glutton, saving the town, bringing back all of their old friends, and living happily ever after.
Except not quite. The town had been destroyed by an “earthquake”, Godforce had spread throughout their word to bless (or curse) individuals with Abstractions, and while people like her brother Billy were freed from the Glutton’s grasp those who had been killed by others were still lost. With no home to truly return to, Penny’s family moved to live with her Uncle in Boseman. While Billy was more than happy to put the past behind them and help reestablish his father’s auto business, Penny couldn’t shake the horrible feeling that she should be doing more with her abilities.
However, before she could figure out whatever that was, she had to make a detour: she had promised Lynette to explain what happened to her siblings, and one of them had finally gotten back to her through social media. Penny packed her bags and headed to NYC to meet with Lynette’s family. Unfortunately, she was whisked into a fabricated city called Paradise by a girl named Rosalyn before she could make it to New York. Along with her were some strangers plus a multitude of friendly faces from her hometown.
Together, they made their way through Paradise, encountering a troublesome Apparition along the way. Penny and her friend Zoey managed to defeat it the first time, but when they reawakened on a boat in the harbor of the city they were attacked by the Apparition again. The group narrowly managed to avoid it, but were attacked once more by the Apparition after they returned to the city proper. Caelea, a friend of Penny’s who had been one of the key people involved in defeating the Glutton, was murdered by the Apparition and her body was Abscised.
Penny vowed to avenge her friend and, with the help of a stranger named Odessa, hunted the Apparition down after they were separated from the others. Before the fight, Odessa revealed to Penny that she was the Apparition of her former friend Britney. Despite having been forgiven after her death, Odessa was still distraught by the crimes her past life has committed. Together, the two of them managed to seal the Apparition that had killed Caelea, and then reconvenned with the others who had met with Rosalyn, the creator of Paradise.
The group was able to convince the girl to let them go, but only after Odessa offered to stay behind to keep Rosalyn company. However, before she let them go Rosalyn told them that she had brought them to Paradise to save them from the end of the world, which happened in the summer of 2017—a whole year after the time Penny had been drawn into Paradise. To convince them, the child showed them a Recollection of LA falling to ruin. Rosalyn didn’t know how the world had ended, but she did know that it had something to do with a man named Luther Saul.
Freed from Paradise, Penny finished her trip to NYC to tell Lynette’s siblings what had happened to her. In their apartment building, Penny had a Semi-Awakening thanks to her time spent with Odessa, who had been forgiven yet was still hurting, when she realized that her inability to forgive Sharon would haunt the girl when she returned as an Apparition. A distraught Penny broke down in the elevator as she apologized and forgave the memory of a girl she had hated, triggering her first Abstraction to shift. She pulled herself together long enough to connect with Lynette’s family, conveniently leaving out the fact that Sharon had murdered her.
After, Penny contacted Kimberly and joined the girl in Tampa, Florida, where her hunt for Luther Saul would begin.
SKILLS & TALENTS
"I just really hope that Kimberly never asks me to be in her show again."
Hand-Eye Coordination ⫻Penny has been practicing her aim since she first found out about her Abstraction. If it’s a stationary bottle or a tin can she’s guaranteed to hit it from about a hundred yards away.
Running ⫻ Try getting chased around by a bunch of monsters for a semester and not take up running as a hobby afterwards. Her speed and stamina are improving every day.
Vanquisher ⫻ Penny’s knowledge of Extra-Normals is vast, and she uses what she knows to efficiently hunt down dangerous Apparitions and other deadly things.
Commanding ⫻ The nice thing about being decisive and confident is most people tend to believe that means you actually know what the fuck you are doing.
ABSTRACTION
"Nothing can touch me. Nothing can escape me."
TYPE ⫻ Awakened
ABSTRACTION ⫻ Repulsion/Attraction, the ability to telekinetically force things away from her body or closer to her body.
Air Manipulation, the ability to control air.
ABSTRACTION DESCRIPTION ⫻
She might be more understanding, but disgust still lies below her surface. Penny’s Repulsion can force almost anything that enters a five foot radius around her to rapidly move away from her. Things reflect back in a straight line from her until the effects of gravity or other interference stops them. This means that if she repulses something that is on the ground, it will only hit things that are level with the ground and the moment it hits something with enough force it will stop. She’s only capable of forcing objects that have a weight equal to or less than twice her weight away from her, so she’ll lose any match of chicken that she plays against a speeding car.
The velocity and distance at which an object blasts away from her is dependent upon its size; the lighter an object is, the further and faster it travels. Small objects (less than a pound) likes coins, paper clips, pens, and etcetera, act almost like a weak 9mm bullet, traveling fast enough to penetrate skin, clothing, thin walls, doors, and glass. Medium objects (more than a pound, but less than fifty) like computer monitors, baseballs, bricks, and so on only go about 30 meters before quickly succumbing to gravity, and tend to only have enough force to dent metal, knock the wind out of someone, and possibly fracture or break bones. Large objects (more than fifty, less than her peak) like desks, bags of cement, and some people can be sent back 3 meters. The force is about as strong as an incredibly fit person’s push, so it’s largely only effective at moving large things out of her way, bracing doors, or keeping people forced against walls.
There isn’t a limit to how many objects she can force away from her at once, but she does have to direct the repulsions. This means that she has to know an object is coming at her or within her range for her to repulse it, and she actively has to focus her mind to push it away. Therefore, she isn’t constantly blowing the dirt and trash at her feet away (unless she consciously decides to), nor is she able to push away an incoming projectile if she doesn’t know that it was fired at her in the first place.
Her growing acceptance and understanding has tempered her disgust, meaning that while she still might find herself strongly disapproving of something she is able to power through it and even accept it with her newfound tenacity. Penny’s Attraction can bring back any objects to her at a speed as high as her Repulsion, assuming she has at one point or another touched it to gain an “understanding” over the item. While her Repulsion can only affect items in a small range around her, she can Attract items from much further away—up to a hundred yards. This allows her to paddle-ball her Repulsion rockets back and forth, allowing her to require a much smaller arsenal than she is used to carrying.
Since it is the same Abstraction, she can combine the Repulsion and Attraction together at the same time to create a sort of hold. Conceptually similar to most forms of telekinesis, Penny basically has total control of items that enter within the five foot Repulsion radius of her. She can reposition a Repulsion to give it a better shot or to avoid flying off at an ally, or create whipping barriers around her body of random junk. Her weight limits on her Attraction is the same as the ones on her Repulsion.
Penny’s Abstraction has a secondary effect that allows her to sense the mass, velocity, and trajectory of any moving object that enters her field of view, even if it were moving faster than her naked eye could see. This gives her enough time to react to incoming objects and determine if her ability can affect it. In a way, it acts as a limited danger sense, however the effect is an information overload that can be detrimental to her mental and physical health. After using it for five minutes she starts to experience splitting migraines, nosebleeds, and vision loss, and if she goes with it on for longer than ten she will start to experience blackouts. If she toggles it off before the five minute mark she can recuperate fairly well, but there is a cool down that is directly correspondent to how long she used it for, meaning that if she was channeling her secondary vision for three minutes she would have to wait three minutes before using it again. Once she goes beyond the five minute mark the cool down greatly compounds, tripling once it hits five and doubling itself every minute after that.
The Abstraction Penny took from her dead friend Caelea. Like Caelea, Penny has a volatile temper that lies beneath her seemingly cool and confident surface. Due to this, she has a decent command over Caelea’s Abstraction. Her Air Manipulation is fairly limited. She can only control air by creating blasts of air out of her hands or feet, with an extremely limited range of just around a foot. Penny can control just how powerful the air is, from a light breeze to a very strong gust. Due to the nature of her other Abstraction, Penny primarily uses her Air Manipulation to maneuver herself out of harm's way or to give her a better angle on an enemy. She’s not nearly as graceful as her gymnast friend was, but Penny can use the blasts to launch herself in the air and to dampen a landing.
AURA SENSING ⫻ Penny is capable of tracking items that have been charged with her Attraction ability. She can sense them to a pinpoint location within 500 yards, and can get a vague idea of what direction they are in up to five miles away.
LIMITS ⫻
REPULSION & ATTRACTION ⫻ Emotional-Fields prevent Penny from directly using her ability on other Extra-Normal beings. She can try, but all she'd do is waste energy trying as if she is trying to push an unmovable object. So far the ability only works in a linear fashion, as in she can't make things go left and right or up and down—unless she is manipulating things within a five foot radius of her body, in which then she has near absolute control. The range limits and whatnot were already established in the power section so I won't go over them again. However, the closer an object is to Penny, the more effective it is (in terms of strength and energy efficiency).
AIR-MANIPULATION ⫻ Emotional-Fields prevent Penny from say stealing the breath out of an Extra-Normal's lungs, but it also isn't as directly effective against other Extra-Normals. It has a lot of raw power but no real precision, it may allow her to send someone flying but it'd be next to impossible for her to use it to grab an object (not that she really needs to use this abstraction for it). Also, the force required to actually do some feats like knock someone over or even maneuver around the battlefield requires a fair bit of energy. Which tires her out a lot more than other abstractions. Also, it has a short range of around five feet.
WEAKNESSES ⫻
REPULSION & ATTRACTION ⫻ The Abstraction is connected with her mind and causes strain. The usual psychic-nosebleeds, but it can also cause intense headaches, blurred vision, and memory-loss if overused. The Abstraction also requires care, as Penny's ability is automatic, which more or less means she can't stop an object while sending it away. Her ability to sense objects coming towards her also comes with its own set of weaknesses.
AIR-MANIPULATION ⫻ Penny's air manipulation disrupts air-flow to an extent and it means that it's difficult for her to breath while using her abstraction.

Kimberly Walton
It's weird. We're friends, but not in a traditional way. Like, if I'm being honest I really don't know that much about her, but I'd do anything for the girl. I guess we aren't really friends exactly, but sisters. We saved the worlds once. We can do it again.
Rowan Campbell
Kimberly trusts him, so I trust him. I'll watch out for him like I would her.
"Yes, it's the heart that matters, but that don't mean you can't slay!"
Hooo, wee she's a tall bitch-- those legs go on for days, weeks, months, but she's slim because she's underfed. Homelessness will do that to a Queen-- a queen who keeps her plain jane curly hair short, so that she can wear those beauty shop wigs easier. And she's always wearing some kind of makeup, even if it's part of that, 'naturally unnatural,' trend the IG models are on nowadays. None may behold the face without the beat for makeup is WARPAINT. Earrings? Simple warrior's charms of LUCK. When it's time for a look, she's all about the pastels and neons-- favoring a style reminiscent of a little girl's sugar high-hallucination, with all the bows, satin, beads, shiny stuff, sequins, glitter, and bright colors included.
Some would call her hair unkept but that's cause bedhead is IN, sis! Plus, just because the rent's a month late, don't mean her nails ain't done, brows ain't done, and skin ain't clear-- there's priorities here, people. She will admit that her facial hair grows in pretty quick so, her mustache will be there by the end of the day, ready to announce to the world she can't afford them hormone pills. Tragic really, but a flat chested Queen sure can afford them fake titties, when the time comes for the glow up.
Pre-glow involves just the saddest t-shirts dumped off at Goodwill, with them dad at the cookout jeans or shorts, complete with dirty sandals that look stolen from a gladiator. Always with the sandals! Maybe it's to show off the pedicure but, we all know it's just cause she spent all her money on good drag, a busted car, and more makeup than anyone could feasibly use in a lifetime. Oh, and tattoos, because of course she had to spend money on tattooing nonsense-- a candycane here, cheshire cat there, an octopus, Ronald McDonald... Nothing follows any kind of theme but she sure has those tattoos scattered about on her arms.
PSYCHOLOGY
"You either call me Mariah or don't call me at all, honey!"
MAIN GOAL ⫻ Paying that damn rent? Truth be told, she wants to buy a large house, and set up a safe space for LGBTQAI+ children who were in the same situation she was. To do that, she's got to amass a fortune, first.
WHAT THEY WANT OUT OF THE COVEN ⫻ Networking! She considers herself to be a freak among freaks, but in a good way, so she wants to find others like her. Maybe they know a guy who knows a guy, you know? Also if anyone possibly knows who are parents are, that'd be nice, but she doubts she'll ever figure that mystery out.
PHILOSOPHY ⫻ Nobody will ever love or understand you like your-damn-self! The good word of this philosophy needs to be spread, she believes.
SECRETS ⫻ Traveling down to Tampa involved a lot of train hopping, wandering through the woods, and sleeping on the ground. She saw a few too many things she shouldn't have-- a few of those things saw her back.
SEXUALITY ⫻ Very Pansexual but afraid of being heartbroken again.
FEARS ⫻ Heartbreak, never finding love again, and oh, being murdered for being herself. She doesn't want to live in fear so she lives as upfront as possible, but it's always in the back of her mind-- wondering if today will be the day.
REPUTATION ⫻ In the Florida Drag Community, she's known for being very caring-- the type that would give you the shirt off her back, as she has quite literally done this before. She's also known for being quite hot-headed and often goes 'claws out' before thinking-- her ability to own up to her vicious and snappy remarks, and apologize for them, has earned her some grudging respect.
FLAWS ⫻ Trust-issues and Impulsiveness-- a combination that has gotten her in trouble on more than one occasion. When she believes she's right, there's hardly anything that can convince her otherwise, and she will often act on her beliefs without thinking. And yes, while she can apologize for her hot-headed remarks, there's always a deeper part of her that feels justified. Mariah hates being wrong, having acted in error, and doesn't admit it either. And this is all coupled with a deep mistrust of literally everyone, everything, and reality itself sometimes. Trust no one, not even yourself, is the easiest way to surmise this issue. She doesn't even trust herself when she thinks she's right, which is a loop-de-loop of a complex, which causes her to act impulsively in order to avoid indecisiveness. She's... working on this?
BACKSTORY
"Nobody even wanted me-- so I had to want myself."
Well. What does this world do with an orphan? One with no name, found wandering the streets at the age of two, naked and all alone, with no birth record, DNA match-- absolutely nothing connecting them to anyone? For weeks the local news ran the story of a baby found wandering down highway 64 in Virginia Beach, Virginia. After months of no leads, dead end investigations, and no one coming forward to claim the child, she was sent an Orphanage, of course. That was the first.
She was adopted at the age of four. Sent back to an Orphanage. Adopted at the age of eight. Sent back to an Orphanage.
And her final adoption, at the age of eight, ended in runaway. Around the age of eleven, Mariah began wearing makeup, her little sister's dresses, and of course her adopted family 'caught' her. They hated how she insisted on being called Mariah. They figured it was just something adopted kids do, right? Identity crisis would just be a phase, right? But they'd had enough.
They wanted a "normal" child. They wanted a little boy.
So on the way back to the orphanage, to exchange this broken child for a new one, Mariah herself had enough. Nowadays she joked about how cars back then didn't have child locks, just for situations like this, and that if that car had? Well, she always laughs, she figures she'd be a bit more sane cause her head wouldn't have been banged around so much. Yes, Mariah jumped out of a moving vehicle, in daytime traffic on I-64, in order to avoid being sent to the Orphanage again, botched the landing, promptly jumped off the bridge, and into a new life-- sort of. This... triggered her Kindling-Event. What was most distressing about this event was meeting the "Abuelas" one moment then snapping back into reality just before hitting the water. They couldn't have let her pass up that cold watery slap in the face, huh?
Thus began her life "on the run". Homeless, young, possessing nothing, really helped her with learning how to survive-- mostly by stealing and begging. She left Virginia for North Carolina almost immediately. She resided in train stations, old buildings, the occasional diner, panhandled for money, dated some rich kid, and break-danced for extra cash.
At sixteen, train hopping led her to Florida where she decided to stay, especially since the winters weren't so cold. A local drag queen spotted her dancing her ass off on a boardwalk, took her in, and the rest is history-- sort of.
SKILLS & TALENTS
"I get my credentials from the streets, baby."
[Dancing] ⫻ Vogueing, pop-locking, break dancing, flamenco, rumba, mambo, and a healthy dose of Técnica. Mariah proved at a young age to be adept at dancing, as it came as naturally to her as breathing.
[Stealing] ⫻ She didn't want to shop-lift or steal from people on the street, but she had to eat, right? Mariah is especially good at pick-pocketing and lying as a result.
[Sewing] ⫻ Her Drag-Mom taught her to make her own clothes and that a hot glue gun is a bit too cheap.
[Spanish] ⫻ Her Drag-Mom was Cuban, insisted that Mariah was probably Cuban or Puero-Rican, "Or some latin shit," and insisted on teaching her Spanish. She has a rather Cuban accent when speaking Spanish, as a result, but a southern-ish accent when speaking English.
ABSTRACTION
"Mis Abuelas showed me how but I had to learn the rest."
TYPE ⫻ Adept
ABSTRACTION ⫻ Yellow-Orange Lux -- Channeler: A weighted flamenco fan she's had since her Drag-Mom gifted it to her.
ABSTRACTION DESCRIPTION ⫻ "The Hater Blocker" ⫻ A spell which grants an object the ability to block, absorb, deflect, or outright reflect whatever abstraction or physical attack is used whenever this ability is active on an object. Since it is very much orange-based, it has to be cast upon an object in order to activate its effects.
"Low-Key Vibes" ⫻ When cast upon a person or object, it causes the target to become easily ignored until they become unnoticeable. While it's not outright invisibility, the less one focuses on the object this is cast on, the more effective the spell becomes.
"Center Stage" ⫻ When cast, it essentially draws attention toward whatever person or object it is cast upon. Straight up provocation. It's the ability to call and hold attention as long as the spell is channeled. The longer the object on Center Stage is focused on, the less likely one is to lose focus on it.
LIMITS ⫻ The Hater-Blocker is effective against projectile abstractions and projectile attacks, except it has a harder time working against physical extra-normal attacks. Mainly because emotional-fields clashing weakens its effectiveness. Its effectiveness on a single object degrades as it's used and Mariah will have to reapply it after a while. She can only apply the effect to five objects at a time but applying it drains her of stamina. Of course the effect only works for one direction and the area of effect attacks still are dangerous for Mariah. Whenever Mariah reflects or deflects an attack, its effectiveness is halved. Low-Key Vibes can only be cast upon two objects at most but if they're not in the center of attention the spell works better. If they're being focused on by a few different objects then it may be impossible to cast the spell. Center stage more or less has the same limits, but oppsite.
WEAKNESSES ⫻ Due to the low-yield nature of the abstraction it doesn't have any weaknesses or drawbacks in particular.
OTHER
"Watch it turn out I'm just Italian or middle-eastern or whatever."
Mariah's Theme Song "Left right left, swiping on tinder, what was love like? I can't remember!" Regular Fight Song "I turned nothing to something, my comeback on one hunnid!" Boss Battle Song "Who gon' check me, boo? Not you!"

Kara
She showed up the same time as me in the park to meet Claudette... I don' even wanna know what happened in them woods. Sorry, sis.
Vashti
She introduced herself to me and she was alright up until she turned into fuckin' Godzilla! Holy shit. She seem a bit unhinged but I would be too under them circumstances.
Isla
We've uh... offically been through some shit together. She saved my ass from a monster in the woods and I saved her from drownin' in the 3 feet. So. We good.

Description: A buff Peruvian man, standing at 5ft 7in, with gel-spiked hair, and aggression issues. He's got a serious case of can't shut the fuck up disease and will always blurt out the first thing on his mind. His accent is so thick and his english is so broken that it's a wonder how his shit-talking is always CRYSTAL CLEAR. He loves the gym and getting ripped more than anything, because he thinks he's a bodybuilder, and wants to compete "soon" (something he says allllll the time). People sometimes think there's a language barrier when communicating with him but, the truth is he's just dumb, also uneducated, and only seeking to lift heavy shit and put it back down. Usually he just backs Mariah up by lifting her, dancing with her, or carrying heavy-ass equipment from their "house". He does the work mostly out of loyalty to their house "mother"-- as this makes Mariah some odd "sister" of his. Family is important.
Extra-Normal Ability: Afflicted -- Steroid Use Demon's Blood Someone's been selling this man steroids out of the gym for, "Totally massive sick gains," and of course, cause everyone else was taking them, this dumb ass went for them too. At the moment, he still considers them to be regular steroids with the weird side effect of having his balls grow spikes outbursts of aggression, fevers, and above average human strength... Apparently he can grow bone spikes too.
