At first the plan seemed to be working just fine. Kol was successful in blinding the pink beast with the sand in his hands, buying him enough time to attempt to strike at the back of its knee. The monster fell down on one knee, creating an opening for Son to charge in and deliver a strike. Unfortunately for Tevaβs group, and more importantly Son, luck was not on their side.
Even blinded as it was, the creatureβs flailing arm managed to catch Son in the head, and the scrunching sound of the greenskins neck bones getting crushed reverberated across the forest. Teva, with horror in her eyes, saw the goblin fall to the ground like a ragdoll, his deformed neck and head clearly supported by only his skin and muscles.
The rocks she threw had zero impact on the outcome of the battle, and Teva lamented her choice of weapon; what could mere small rocks do to a creature double her size? Nothing would be the answer to that question.
When the fat beast finally brushed off the dirt from its eyes, it slowly stood up and, despite its overabundant physique, deftly caught Kol from the throat. The helpless, now, goblin was lifted off the ground easily by the strength of the pink creature which had, by now, regained its senses somewhat. Teva saw part of the shrubbery near the orc shuffle, and a piece of wood poked outwards that was soon withdrawn back into the bush, causing Teva to sigh. It seemed her hunch about Gee was right, the goblin was not one to hunt. Berry picking and herb gathering suited her better, and her personality and mannerisms clearly showed that.
Teva bit her lower lip while wracking her tiny brain, trying to find a way to save the two orcs from certain doom, but could not find one. Gee, hidden as she was, seemed to have escaped the beastβs detection, but Kolβs neck was ready to snap in the fattyβs ever tightening grip. Teva clutched two sharp sticks in her hands and moved as gracefully as she could on top of the branch she used as a vantage point. The situation had changed from a hunt to an escape, and just as she was moving to execute her backup plan in case Gee failed to trip the beast, a large rock flew from a random bush towards her enemyβs direction.
The pink creature snarled, momentarily distracted by the rock throw, and Teva seized the chance. She jumped from the branch above, diving straight down and onto the fattyβs exposed shoulders.
Were she to successfully land on the orcβs shoulders, Teva would then immediately stab with her sharp sticks towards the beastβs eyes, aiming to blind it permanently. She would then jump off its back and, hoping it had released him from its grip due to her attack, would check on Kol to see if he was still alive. If he wasnβt, she would duck low and dash towards the direction of the cave, picking up the box and bag the orc had thrown on the ground, a consolation prize if you will. If he was alive, sheβd try to rouse him up before escaping herself.
