So I've decided to change something in the way I calculate damage, specifically recoil damage. Recoil damage has been repurosed to be "Exhaustion". Before, I was taking ten percent of energy spent on Attack and subtracting that from health as recoil. Now, I will also be taking 10% of all energy use and subtracting that from health. So you're basically, taking 10% exhaustion from your Speed and Defense, while you take a 20% recoil from your Attack.

I did this because I didn't find it fair that characters that spend more energy on Defense and Speed (especially). Recieved so much less "damage" from their own attacks. I believe this way is much more balanced.

I won't go back and change anything, but this has been done in my last post and will be this way until further notice. None of you have to worry about this, this is all stuff I do on the back end.

And @Darkmoon Angel, this actually benifited you, because Bonizo took more "exhaustion" damage with these new rules. Also, you might want to use the serious boost on one of your stats this next exchange, to make sure you finish him off. You might not need to though. After this next attack of his, he'll barely be hanging on.

You know, I like how this system is evolving. I like beta-testing RPG elements.

Are you going to be able to post soon? This battle should be over after this next exchange, then we can move on to the next round. Then you'll be free till it's your turn again.

@Darkmoon Angel

Are you going to post this weekend? As I said before, I'm pretty sure this battle only needs one more post.

For the sake of the others, I'm going to put a timer on it. Your character will forfiet this fight if you can't post by Monday morning.

Sorry, it's one thing after another over here. I might see a break in life in the next week or so though, so hopefully this doesn't happen again.

Okay, I'll make another post in the next couple days to kick off the next round. If anyone wants to get a post in before then, be my guest. Your character can reflect on what they saw. If you don't want to post, no worries. I'll keep things moving in my next post.

@BladeSS4, it is now your turn. You can post everything your character has done or important thoughts he's had since last we heard from him. And you can either stop right before the gong sounds for this match (in which case, I'll make the first move) OR you can sound the gong and make the first move yourself. It's whatever you prefer.

Your opponent will have a power level of 90, while you will remain at 110. You can start your first move with a serious attack, if you like. After our first exchange of blows, I will introduce "Special Techniques" to the match.

@BladeSS4 On your next turn, you can reveal your Secret Technique if you like. A secret technique is like the serious boost, except, once you choose which stat it boosts, you can never change that. Also, it matters if your opponent has seen the attack or battled you when you used it.

If your opponent has never seen the technique, it will apply a x2.5 boost.
If they have seen it, but you haven't used it on them, it will apply a x2 boost.
If they have experienced the technique first hand, it will apply a x1.5 boost.

You can use your serious boost on the same stat as your secret technique, but it doesn't stack. The boost for both will be applied to the base stat number then added together. So if you put 50 on Speed and you use your serious boost on speed AND you use a Secret Technique that boosts speed by 2.5, your total speed will be 225, NOT 250.

@BladeSS4, If you choose to create your secret technique and use it now, you'll need to add it to your character sheet. But you might not want to do that yet. Once you use it in this tournament, everyone will have seen it, and it will go down in effectiveness in following rounds. I will be using my secret technique, in order to try and change the tide of the battle, but I doubt it will work. You did a lot of damage, during that exchange.

Do you have any questions?

The 'secret' technique. This is things like Afterimages and general other special moves right?

Absolutely correct!

An after image technique would be an example of a Speed based technique.
Ki blasts and pump up techniques would be for attack.
Hardening defensive stances and ki shields would go for defense.

Secret techniques are NOT charged attacks like the Spirit bomb or a powered up Kamehameha. Although, a quick Kamehameha could be a secret technique.

So I was wrong on the math in my last post. If you were to use your SERIOUS boost and a SECRET technique on the same stat. It would look like this technically. [ Speed + Speed + (Speed x 1.5) ]

So for your last post, the math would look like this... [ 60 + 60 + (60 x 1.5) ] ... or ... (120 + 90) = 210.

The 2.5 I mentioned before would be the quick way to calculate it, IF you didn't also use your SERIOUS boost on it, because (Speed x 2.5) is the same as [Speed + (Speed x 1.5)]

Alright everyone, I'm making another change to the exhaustion formula. I haven't used it yet, but I will be using it this way from this point onward. Again, this is all back end calculations that you don't necessarily NEED to know. But I figured I'd share anyways, because it might effect your strategies a little.

From now on, exhaustion for power spent on ATTACKS will be 30%; exhaustion for power spent on SPEED will be 20%; exhaustion for power spent on DEFENSE will be 10%.

I feel that this is more realistic, because ATTACKS should take the most energy, moving faster should take up more energy than holding your ground (but less than attacking), and DEFENDING should be the most economical way to spend your energy.

Also, I think I mentioned that if you had higher SPEED than your opponent, and you K.O.'ed them, then you wouldn't take any damage from their attacks. That is no longer the case. From now on, I will calculate damage done to both combatants fully. I will add the absolute value of the person that is furthest below zero to the health of the person that has more health remaining.

In other words, if one combatant has -20 and the other has -50. I will then add 50 back to -20, making that fighter's health actually be 30. Of course, whatever number this brings them to can't be above where their health started at before the exchange of blows.

Finally, exhaustion will be applied after all damage is calculated. This isn't new. I've already been doing this. I just wanted to point out that if you are left with 10 health (for example), you will technically "win" the battle. But then if your exhaustion is more than 10, your character will pass out. With this in mind, you might as well go all out in these tournament matches, because you can be brought back with a senzu bean and some treatment before your next match. BUT, once we pass this tournament, and we get into more "life-and-death" situations, you'll want to be more careful.

Again, all these calculations will be behind the scenes things, but if you have questions, let me know.

I will post again in a couple days, summarizing Lee and Micheal's match, and leading into the Rica vs Eclipse match. Everyone feel free to post until then. Your character's thoughts and "out-of-frame" actions are welcome.
