Johnathon "Johnny" Blaze Bounty Hunter Of Satan Earth / Hell
C H A R A C T E R C O N C E P T:

"Go to Hell."

Johnny was the Ghost Rider for a decade, back in the start of the century. He was left for dead after a gang attack, his girlfriend at the time and his adoptive father were both with him and in the same situation. On his deathbed, Johnny asked whatever power there was in the world to do a sinner like him one favor. Take his soul, but save his family's life. Heaven didn't take the deal. He became bonded to the ArchDemon Zarathos, and became the spirit of vengeance. For ten years he rode. Fighting anything from no-good drug dealers to rogue angels from the Black Host. While Ghost Rider was putting the hurt on the Knight Of Hell Abaddon, Zarathos betrayed Johnny and broke their pact. Leaving Johnny dying on the ground, and when his heart stopped beating, his soul was sent to hell for all eternity.

Johnny's been dead for four years. Which in hell was the equivalent of 400 years. During this time, Johnny's been fighting demons every second to avoid endless torture. But with Zarathos and Abaddon's coup on Hell, they released Mephisto's most valued inmates. And the Lord Of Hell needs them back. He resurrected Johnny as a man, to hunt the demons down and maybe, he'd get a chance at redemption for his soul. And more importantly, revenge on Zarathos.

He's back from the grave again. No longer a host split between the man and the demon. He's just a rider. A Rider who dreads he's more ghost than man.

C H A R A C T E R M O T I V A T I O N S & G O A L S:

Johnny's prime desire is to kill Zarathos. But in doing so, he'll hunt down every evil son of a bitch he can get. Using the centuries of combat skills he's amassed, he's the most qualified human to fight demons there ever was. Using weaponry enhanced with demonic magic, hellfire loaded buckshot and the occasional shot of demon blood. He's determined to get his soul back from the clutches of hell. For now, his goal is to hunt down the seven sins before they bring ruin to the world.

He's the protector of the innocent and the tormentor of the wicked.

CLARK JOSEPH KENT (KAL-EL) INVESTIGATIVE JOURNALIST METROPOLIS, DELAWARE, U.S.A. THE DAILY PLANET STAFF, THE JUSTICE LEAGUE
C H A R A C T E R C O N C E P T:

.
"I've fought for the same things, even when they don't seem fashionable. It's a neverending battle, but we can't quit."

Five years ago, an experimental craft said to be able to sustain an atmospheric breach with leisure was launched by LexCorp CEO and famed astrobiologist, Lex Luthor, during a worldwide press conference. When the shuttle began to break down and malfunction, however, the crew aboard the S.S. Lena seemed fated for certain doom. While the gallery of reporters watched the scene play out in horror, including The Daily Planet's own Lois Lane, a rookie journalist that was assigned to shadow her stepped out of view and pulled apart his shirt to reveal a uniform beneath - with a symbol, alien in origin, that unmistakably looked like the letter S. Within minutes, cameras broadcast the shuttle's miraculous rescue for all the world to see as the being who had caught it - with his bare hands, no less, while suspending his own personal gravity to fly through the air - gently landed and placed the craft a mere mile from the launch site, fully intact and with all crew unharmed. That was the day that the world was introduced to a man that would later announce himself as a friend to humanity, a champion of the people that would fight for those who could not fight for themselves. His name was Kal-El of Krypton, but the public latched onto another name that The Daily Planet had coined - Superman.

In the time since The Man Of Steel's first dramatic appearance, Superman and his mild-mannered alter-ego Clark Kent have only looked to further that initial mission of peace. Whether that means saving a village full of people from a raging fire half the world away, writing an exposé on the troubled conditions of the less fortunate for The Daily Planet's online edition, or simply standing between the citizens of Metropolis and a ravaged byproduct of science and mutation gone horribly awry - making such enemies as The Ultra-Humanite, The Atomic Skull, The Silver Banshee, and the alien-tech equipped terrorist outfit known as Intergang - Superman has become a beacon of hope for some and a figurehead of justice where traditional systems have failed. But others, such as Lex Luthor and SHIELD's Nick Fury, regularly treat Superman's presence as a potential threat rather than a potential ally.

While Clark started off confident that he could eventually win his skeptics over, it's become clear that for as long as Superman remains active, others will fear him and even attempt to best him, putting the city of Metropolis and even the world itself in considerable danger. That's why it took little convincing on his part to begin working with others, coordinating a response team in the event of a worldwide catastrophe - one that soon arose in the form of Starro, The Conqueror. Calling themselves The Justice League, Superman has taken on the task of acting as the defacto public face of a group that otherwise shields their true identities and hidden homelands.

Whether facing ongoing threats to humanity and intervening to lend a hand in public crises, or simply trying to rebuff the often skeptical Lex Luthor's latest claim about his true intent, Superman continues to defend Earth's citizens in the name of truth and justice.

.
C H A R A C T E R M O T I V A T I O N S & G O A L S:

This seems pretty self-explanatory. Superman is one of the key foundations of the superhero myth, if not the foundation of it, and I've always loved the character. The reason I'm taking him on in this game is because I think the set-up provides a unique opportunity to see Superman on the frontlines of something he's rarely had to ever face in the comics: heroes with opposing ideologies. While DC and Marvel's heroes are at their very core fighting for the same things, they're very different groups of people. Superman represents the best of his type of hero, but he's a far cry from characters like Spider-Man and The Avengers, and I think that presents an interesting moral conflict.

I hope to set up parts of his mythology that seem obvious, such as his more prominent enemies beyond Luthor and his extended super-family, but through the context of a truly shared universe, where costumed heroes are alot more of a commonality. I also want to establish real, tangible dynamics with characters like Nick Fury, Captain America, The Fantastic Four, and others he wouldn't ordinarily get much time with.

C H A R A C T E R N O T E S:

As of right now, Superman's allies consist of Lois Lane, Jimmy Olsen, Perry White, Ron Troupe, Steve Lombard, Cat Grant, and the rest of the staff at The Daily Planet, which is simultaneously one of the last dinosaurs of newsprint and one of the most popular online publications to exist, serving as a testament to old-school journalism and facts in the face of it's rivals' clickbait and misinformation. Whenever he needs a hand with something scientific, he consults Dr. Leo Quintum of S.T.A.R. Labs.

Jonathan and Martha Kent are still alive and well, living on the family farm in Smallville... along with a recently acquired addition. A blonde teenage girl, found by Superman a year earlier. After discovering her while trapped in a crashed escape pod, and wearing his kryptonian symbol, Clark took it upon himself to see that she remained protected until he could know where she came from. She is unable to speak any known Earth language, but Clark has entrusted his adoptive parents to teach the girl the basics of life on Earth, as they did with him.

And of course, he trusts the members of The Justice League. They're all aware of his dual identity as Clark Kent, a secret that he willingly gave up when the decision was made to make the group a permanent fixture. Though the two members of the League that he considers his closest friends are Batman and Wonder Woman, having teamed up with them both multiple times before the Justice League's formation.

As far as his enemies go, Lex Luthor still remains his most vocal critic - though in the five years that they've fought eachother verbally, it's never resulted in a true altercation. And even if he's been suspected of utilizing illegal means to further his empire, Luthor utilizes the law and his public image to his advantage, making him virtually untouchable. Beyond Lex, Superman has battled only a few members of his rogue's gallery, with more to come as the game progresses.

Billy Kaplan/Teddy AltmanFuture Demiurge/Future King of SpaceNew York/Space
C H A R A C T E R C O N C E P T:

"Truth. Justice." "And the homosexual way."

Billy and Teddy were inseparable during their time at school, and before long it was clear that this bond was more than just friendship. This bond was strengthened by the revelation of their abilities, with the two believing themselves to both be mutants. Given their obsession with superheroes and all things of that nature, it was only natural that the two decided to use their gifts in order to fight crime.

Little did they know, neither of the two were right about the origin of their abilities.

Galaxies away, a great war between the Kree and the Skrull Empire rages. Years ago during the conflict, a Kree warrior found himself imprisoned within the palace of Skrull Emperor Dorrek VII. There he met and fell in love with the emperor's daughter, Anelle, who gave birth to a Hatchling months later. Fearing for its life due to its parentage, she sent it away across the stars with a handmaiden, hoping to hide them from the war. Rumours of the half-breed echo across the battlefields, with many believing that the appearance of the long lost Prince Dorrek VIII could turn the tides of war.

Around this same time, the sentient life force of the universe itself, the Demiurge, began to prepare itself for its predestined host. A young baby was placed on the doorstep of an orphanage in the city of Manhattan. Neither the child, nor his adopted parents, had any idea what was in store for him.

C H A R A C T E R M O T I V A T I O N S & G O A L S:

Wiccan and Hulkling (hereby renamed Changeling because the name Hulkling is dumb) are a pair of characters that I have loved for years, with the two of them being my favourite relationship in comics. I've always wanted to bring them to life, and given the recent Empyre event by Marvel Comics, I am now more encouraged than ever.

Billy and Teddy are both characters predestined for greatness; Billy is set to become the omnipotent Demiurge, a powerful entity which gave birth to the Elder Gods, while Teddy is the saviour who is meant to unite two species that have been warring against one another for aeons. Within the comics, they have been building up to these events for years. This won't be the same for my interpretation, as Billy and Teddy, despite only just starting out as superheroes, will find themselves thrust into their destinies. I want to explore how these changes will affect them, and their relationship.

C H A R A C T E R N O T E S:

When it comes to my supporting cast, I want to announce off the bat that I will NOT be making use of the Scarlet Witch, or that aspect of Billy's history. I will be absolutely happy if someone were to pick up the character and play as her, and if they did wish to collaborate in that scenario, I will be more than happy to talk.

Another talking point is the Young Avengers. While I currently do not have plans to make use of them as characters, they are a topic I may approach in the future. That being said, I'd be perfectly happy if someone else were to make use of them. This would definitely be something I'd be happy to collaborate with as well.

As for characters I am interested in, one aspect of my story will deal heavily with the Kree and Skrull Empire, and as such, I will be pulling a number of characters affiliated with them. This will also include a range of other Cosmic based characters from both DC and Marvel.

I am also planning on using aspects from DC's Sideways series, namely their use of Tempus Fuginaut.

”Some debts can never be repaid.”

The Coffins, founders and original settlers of Coffin Hill, are an old family with their roots in Salem and their hands dipped in blood and muck. They have a history of power, wealth, and terrible secrets. Eve Coffin is the last living branch of her ancestral tree - and she is determined to let it end with her.

In 2009, at fifteen years old, Eve and her closest friends delved deep into the woods of Coffin Hill; they went in search of the fabled witch, seeking to strike a bargain. What Eve had failed to understand was that she was the Witch of Coffin Hill; in those woods lived only the creature that lived in servitude to the Coffin family, the source of their power and status. All they had accomplished with their ritual was untethering it from her bloodline.
Four girls had walked into that dark forest that day. Only Eve walked out, and she had been forever marked by what had transpired within the cradle of those trees.
She fled from Coffin Hill that night. Neither the town nor her parents would miss her.

Ten years later, she returns, discovering that the creature in the woods had hungered in her time away; that hunger and rot had spread to the town beyond the treeline. People had been going missing, nearly always reported near or travelling in the direction of the woods by those who’d seen them last. Only Eve knew the true culprit responsible for the horror that now befell the town more frequently than ever before. A decade to the day, she went back into those woods, ready to do battle.

She emerged three days later, not saying a word; Eve collected her things and left Coffin Hill forever, taking the curse of her family with her.

It’s been a year since she emerged again from those woods. Eve drifts now, haunted wherever she goes, too scared to stop moving in case she brings ruin and misery to stay with her. She is The Coffin Witch, the last one there will ever be, and she spends everyday repenting for the sins of her forebearers, carrying the burden of her family name with her.

C H A R A C T E R M O T I V A T I O N S & G O A L S:

Eve's motivations are fairly straight-forward, even if the work involved isn't: use the witchcraft of her family to undo the damage her family has done, and protect the innocent from the malevolent beings of the occult world, and then eventually die alone with no children or legacy and let her family's sins die with her. She drifts from town to town, city to city, and does what she can to fight back against the ever-encroaching darkness as she travels.

My own goals are to use a new character that we haven't seen before in these games to write supernatural/occult mystery and drama stories. I read Coffin Hill a couple years ago, a friend's copy rather than one I picked up myself, and I liked the character of Eve and the horror-occult leanings of the story. As she travels she'll also be very open to crossover stories and community events, something I usually avoid in the endless iterations we churn through, and something that I feel might re-light the spark. If I want to write solo stories, I could just work away on googledocs; if I'm writing as part of a greater collaborative, then I should get involved. So let's get involved.

S A M P L E P O S T:

Coffin House was never Eve's home; merely the building she occupied - hesitantly, reluctantly. It had never felt cozy, inviting, or welcoming. It had never felt safe. Even when her parents were absent, and the air was lacking any ambient cruelty or emotional negligence, the sense of being unwanted pervaded every fibre of Eve's being. The House itself did not want Eve residing within; the feeling was mutual. Eve did little to alter the sense of being rejected by the very brick and mortar. Coffin House was built on bloody foundations, and blood only beget more blood. She stared up at the great oak doors to the manor for the final time, then slung her single bag over her shoulder and spat at the ground, a great glob of spit landing smack on the first step. There was an imperceptible shudder in the brickwork, and a large chunk of moss and mud and dead bugs loosed itself from the guttering and landed at Eve's feet.
That was that, then. Farewells made. Eve turned, and resisted the urge to look back. The House watched her go for as far as it could manage.

The rest of the town felt no less hostile, but not because of malevolent architecture: this was a far more mundane form of malice. No one in Coffin Hill had forgotten August 13th, 2009, the night Eve had taken 3 young girls into the Woods and never returned them. She had been a pariah ever since; branded a murderer, it was only the fear of retribution from the Coffin elders that saved Eve from vigilantism, or even lynching, in the few weeks that followed. After that, they couldn't reach her from outside the institution anyway. Now, though, as she walked down the main street of Coffin Hill towards the bus ranks, she felt eyes on her from every window, every corner, every car. She lowered her head and fixed her gaze on the cobbles, not daring to make eye contact with a single person. Had any of them even a fraction of the Coffin witchcraft, these hard stares would be enough to entomb her in the stone beneath her feet. As it was, the air was unnaturally cold, and she felt a baleful darkness nipping at her heels. She hastened along.

-

As the coach pulled away from the stand, Eve stole a final glance at Coffin Hill out the back window. To the far west, she saw the House standing atop the eponymous knoll, some inimical arbiter of the town; behind Coffin House itself, she could barely make out the treeline of the woods. The trees and the things that dwelled in them looked back.

Eve watched until the town faded away into the fog, then turned and nestled down in her seat. She could still feel it on the back of her neck, but when they crossed the county line, there was a snap sensation in the back of her mind, and she knew then that Coffin Hill was gone. She settled into a restless sleep, and dreamt unquietly of a town that never-was.

"Ha!"

Harley Quinn was the Joker's gilfriend, sidekick, villanous cohort and victim. But within the last year, she finally realised that the Joker was no good for her, he didn't treat her well enough to deserve her loyalty. At first, it was just a ploy to get his attention back, and to set clear boundaries in their relationship. For example: no more pushing her out windows. Soon enough, though she realised she liked the freedom. Free from his evil influence, the dominoes fell and Harley shifted gears into an anti-heroic figure of Gotham. Carving her way through the darkest and cruelest parts of the underworld to bring a some laughter to those who need it most. Joker forgot one of the most important parts of comedy: Punching up is way funnier than punching down. Now Harley is applying her own unorthodox kind of vigilantism to the street of Gotham, chased by the police and supervillains alike and building her own personal little gang to make a mess of things with.

C H A R A C T E R M O T I V A T I O N S & G O A L S:

Harley Quinn wants to prove she's better than the Joker and the rest of Gotham's supervillains. Anyone can be evil, anyone can be selfish. If she wanted to feel powerful she could overdose herself on drugs and fling herself into a vat of chemicals. No, Harley wants to be more. She wants people to like her- really like her. She wants to prove that she's funnier, smarter, and more beautiful than anyone else in Gotham.

Secretly- and don't tell anyone- she cares about the little guy more than she's let on. She knows what it's like to be discarded, trod on, and abandoned by those you thought were supposed to protect you. While her motivations are certainly not entirely unselfish, Harleen has genuine compassion for those around her and a desire to do good, like any hero. Harley also has a strong desire to put jerks, tyrants, and pricks in their place. Freedom and liberty for herself and everyone are important to her. She also wants to feel good about herself and do something never before seen.

And last but certainly not least, she's always looking for a laugh. Nobody in Gotham has a real sense of humor these days, and she intends to show them what good comedy actually looks like. The bad guys are going to get what's coming to them! Harley Quinn is going to be a killer vigilante and she's going to enjoy the killing, so this may put her at odds with many superheroes. However she may end up experimenting with a no-kill rule, and this would give her a chance at actual redemption both in the eyes of the world and in her own eyes.

C H A R A C T E R N O T E S:

Harley is a free agent, and she can't be committing and leading crimes all day long, simply because there aren't enough crimes to do. So when she isn't leading her gang or tearing up the streets of Gotham, I intend for her to travel, explore, and meet up with other player characters. That, or plan with people to have their character visit Gotham and have them run into the Clown Princess. Or seek her out, or...whatever, really. I'm giving her side characters so I could write her by myself for a while but I'm always looking for a collab of any kind with any one.

"My Apologies, Social interactivity was set to low priority"

In this iteration I'm dropping the cosmic super-tornado that fights his evil tornado self but that it isn't himself? Red Tornado is confusing, but honestly, I feel like that he and his family are a pretty cool group of individuals.

The Robot Known as Red Tornado was activated three-years ago. Agents Fitz and Simmons from Damage Control, a subsidiary of S.H.I.E.L.D specifically tasked with moving into areas after the Superheroes and S.H.I.E.L.D agents have done their job to perform search and rescue and repair damage. Initially, the two young scientists struggled to get the unit online, and when they did the unit initially experienced panic and confusion it very nearly destroyed the facility that it was being held in. Through the skill and talent of the scientists and Kate Bishop, they managed to subdue the unit.

Leo Fitz and Gemma Simmons approached Director Maria Hill to allow them to field the unit they nicknamed Red tornado in Damage Control as their very own field operative alongside Kate Bishop. For the past three years under the command of Kate Bishop - Clint Bartons former apprentice, the two of them have stopped several attempts by A.I.M to steal high-level technology from wreck sites created by the struggles between 'Good and Evil' as Red sees it. As time has passed Fitz and Simmons have grown more and more impressed by the cognitive functions within the Robot, which is far more sophisticated than anything S.H.I.E.L.D, Stark, or even Luthor [SUBJECT TO DISCUSSION/CHANGE WITH RESPECTIVE PLAYERS] has come up with.

'Red' as he is known by members of his team, while he is still boxy and robotic, seems to have a clearly defined code of ethics, a slight sense of humor, and a particular way he behaves. Yet they are still no further in discovering where he came from, yet recently he has picked up on a signal. Like a noise in the back of his head, gnawing at him.

C H A R A C T E R M O T I V A T I O N S & G O A L S:

Nobody ever plays Ya Boi Red and that's a real shame. There's an innocence and an element of childlike behavior too Red.

I plan to do a single season arc with Red, which is something I've never done in one of these games where I usually come in with a big A-Lister, heavy hitter where I have rough plans to last me a while. As a member of Damage Control Red will go around tidying up everyone else's mess, helping out the people after the capes have left. His motivation is purely to figure out who he is, where he came from, and what he was built for.

C H A R A C T E R N O T E S:

Important NPCS:

Kate Bishop: I didn't want to touch Hawkeye as I feel like people are more likely to take him than his protége. I am willing to drop her, I'm also going to underdevelop her so that if someone does wish to take her they can. She isn't the focal point of this story, Red is. She's just there as a friend and an ally. She fulfills the role of Reds handler.
FitzSimmons: Leo Fitz and Gemma Simmons. I'm keeping them more or less the same as their AoS counterparts, very season one though in regards to the potential romance. There are hints of it there but they aren't full-on yet. They're Reds technicians/supervisors.
Maria Hill: I felt like my girl was done dirty and replaced by Amanda Waller. As such she is now in charge of Damage Control, it's not where she wants to be and she might try and climb the ladder but you better believe Damage Control works like a machine under her control
Red Team: The Team Red works with in the field. It's going to be made up of random/nothing S.H.I.E.L.D agents whom I make up.

S A M P L E P O S T:

Red sat staring at the wall. Unmoving, uncaring. While he appeared to be completely idle his neural processors were firing through gigabytes of data per second. In his last altercation against the forces of the Advanced Ideas Mechanics, he had been protecting Chitauri relics that were being moved to a new location to be studied by the Strategic Homeland Intelligence Enforcement and Logistics division. Somehow this information was leaked to their foe and it resulted in physical violence between the two groups.

//RECALL_MEMORY_FILE#11254413F..

Internal motors shutting down the air manipulation that kept him airborne within a miniature tornado ceased, slowly. Lowering him to the ground. In the road directly ahead of them were soldiers wearing fluorescent yellow biohazard suits. This seemed like an illogical clothing choice since the unit Red was currently assigned too was not transporting biohazardous materials. Records on file however indicated that the group known colloquially as A.I.M wore the suits as some form of rudimentary uniform. Despite its lowering of possible combat effectiveness by at least 15%.

Activating his vocal systems Red spoke, his voice neutral and uncaring. "Attention: This convoy is under the protection of Damage Control, a subsidiary under the United Nations peacekeeping association known as S.H.I.E.L.D. Hampering the progress of this vehicle is a criminal offense. Please stand aside." Before the A.I.M units could get a chance to respond an arrow shot past his head, striking the weapons off one of the men in yellow. Electricity lanced out from the arrow jumping from weapon to weapon causing the soldiers to drop them as they yelped in surprise.

"Come on Red! Get it together, they're criminals, take them down."

As the rest of the agents began to fire, a turret popped up from the top of the vehicle. He raised his right hand. The motors spinning causing his right hand to start spinning at incredible speeds. Hidden motors within him working as a miniature tornado formed. ‘Pushing’ it with his other hand the Tornado went underneath the vehicle and flipped it on top of its roof. Meanwhile, bullets began to pepper and bounce off of his metallic shell. “As per our orders I was attempting to avoid physical confrontation-”

Kate Bishop was mid flip, reloading her bow and firing it. An explosion pushed several individuals away in a concussive blast. “That’s if we didn’t know they’re bad guys, c’mon Red don’t overthink things-”

//CEASE_MEMORY_RECALL_FILE#11254413F

No matter how many times he replayed the memory file he was unable to establish the moment where he had begun to overthink the scenario. The door to the storage room he stayed within opened. He turned around to the smiling faces of Agent Doctors Fitz and Simmons. “We’ve got a mission for you Red. It’s time to go to work.”

Vibe

Francisco Ramon Hunter Other Earths/New York City Independent
C H A R A C T E R C O N C E P T:

"I will hunt you down… and then we can go out for drinks, I guess."

Vibe is a… well, a viber; a special kind of metahuman whose power is connected to the vibrations of the multiverse. Just as how speedsters are hooked to the Speed Force, the vibers in turn draw their power from the fabric of space and time itself.

One of the first of his kind, Cisco was born to a Puerto Rican family as the youngest of two brothers. His older brother, Dante, was never close to him, and they always fought. To this end, he preferred to stay and work alone, studying all sorts of things that have to do with biology and all that. He would quickly demonstrate to be a highly intelligent person, and would eventually study in Central City University, where Cisco would eventually gain a PhD in Engineering by the age of 24. However, the year after that, he began to have visions; visions of the present. Touching the belongings of others occasionally had this… effect, wherein he began to see current events, as well as the past. He was having… vibes.

Another year passed without anything happening, other than the visions of the past and present. Because of the subtle nature of his power, no one, not SHIELD, not HYDRA, thought of taking him… until that fateful night, when Vibe was truly born. New York City wasn't exactly the safest city, and after a late night out, Cisco and his friend were assaulted by a hostile metahuman criminal by the name of Top. With his companion disoriented by Top's powers, Cisco channeled the energy of the multiverse by pure instinct, striking Top with a blast of energy.

His unlocking of power was soon noticed by another Viber from Earth 19, Gypsy. Because of a dire need for Vibers to safeguard their locality of the multiverse from universe jumping criminals, Vibe was recruited by her in order to let him understand his abilities better and to control them with far greater precision, like herself and her father, Breacher. It wouldn't long before... hmm, feelings blossomed, and they were together, though their jobs would prevent them from being with each other for too long (plus Josh, I mean, Breacher, is rather scary oh wait nonono- *BLAM*)

As of this moment, Vibe serves as a hunter on Earth 1, hunting down extradimensional criminals and unlawful breachers. Officially, he isn't part of the Collection Agency, but he keeps doing what he does because of... her.

C H A R A C T E R M O T I V A T I O N S & G O A L S:

For one, I have always wanted to play Vibe because, well, we vibe. Seeing him in his TV series incarnation is essentially seeing somewhat of a mirror of myself in terms of nerdy stuff.

As for Vibe himself, his current goals is to continue his efforts in catching criminals of both the mundane and temporal nature, ESPECIALLY the ones that screw with space and time. This version of Vibe is more in sync with his 2013 and small screen incarnations, leaning towards the latter. He is by far a rather upright young man that would seem to be unable to take things seriously at first, but would then switch to a no-nonsense attitude once a mission is at hand. Vibe is an absolute nerd, and it seems that nothing could ever change that.

Because of his powers, he would still be able to travel all over the globe without much effort and also interact with pretty much anyone in the RP, granted that there is a good reason for them to.

C H A R A C T E R N O T E S:

Caitlin Snow/Killer Frost: Vibe's friend and a doctor with cryokinesis and a dual personality along the way.
Gypsy: Another Viber from another Earth that is Vibe's girlfriend.
Breacher: Gypsy's scary father who is also a Viber.
The Flash: Just happens to be someone that Vibe idolizes.

S A M P L E P O S T:

"Hey, come out, you, no need to hide. I'll find you anywhere you go anyway, whether on this Earth or the next..."

Vibe looked around, searching for his prey... target. What was that guy's name again? Mirror Master? That's a rather descriptive name for him; that man used mirrors as portals, and when paired with his now imprisoned girlfriend Top, caused a very annoying rarefaction effect that was worse than vertigo or the ass kicking that they did individually. Fortunately, Top, or the Top of this universe anyway, had been captured a few days before after trying to rob a banks. Banks... why is it always banks?

Why was he doing this? Maybe to impress Gypsy, who has a stainless record of having absolutely no one escape her grasp, and maybe her dad too. Josh was very intimidating. Always has been. Breacher was getting old, though, and by the looks of it, he is going to lose his powers soon, just like every other Viber that got too advanced in the years. Maybe he'll get less scarier.

"Come on, just go out already, and maybe I'll rethink giving you to the Earth 19 people, those are really bad when it comes to your type, but yeah, you don't want to come out, so I'll give you to them, just because she told me to."

There seemed to be no activity whatsoever in that abandoned warehouse, save for Vibe's walking and the occasional scurrying of rats. Whatever happened to that... oh.

There was that man's dead body, lying on the dirty floor in a rather expansive pool of blood with several knives stuck on his back. It was strange, though, as it looked like they were flung at his behind all at once, what with the perfect positioning and the equal depth that they were embedded unto his flesh. Spooky.

"Oh my God, this was NOT what I expected..."

Yes, Vibe was a hunter. Yes, he sought for those that broke the laws of space and time and those that consorted with them, but not once has he killed anyone. Not on purpose.

And now, this man deserves a far more respectable resting place.

"Knowledge is power. In all the universe there is no greater truth."

The Baxter Building is home to the Future Foundation, an organization founded by Doctors Franklin Richards and Niles Caulder with the mandate to improve the world through knowledge. The Foundation boasts a varied staff from dozens of scientific, creative, and general academic fields. It also houses an extensive student roster of what the organization hopes will be a bright, new generation.

Six years ago, the Future Foundation's star students, Reed Richards and Victor Von Doom, designed a device capable of interdimensional travel. They, along with fellow students and siblings Sue and Johnny Storm, and accompanied by the head of security and noted adventurer Cliff Steele, intended to use the machine to open a doorway and explore the strange new world. A malfunction and catastrophic failure put an end to the test, though, as the five were dangerously shunted into the other dimension. Clifford was severely injured in the arrival, his body mangled by a dramatic fall, and a deadly race against the clock ensued as Victor tried to repair the device before their suits' emergency oxygen ran out.

Reed and Victor each accused the other of messing up the calculations and causing the malfunction, and the heated argument led to Reed walking away to clear his head. With little time left, and Victor rushing to fix the machine, the Storm siblings went off to find and return Reed to the group. All they found, though, was Reed's shattered helmet and a cosmic storm that swept over the pair. The siblings managed to barely escape from the storm and return to Victor just in time for the four of them to transport back to their home dimension, leaving the fate of Reed unknown.

Weeks of quarantine followed as the staff at the Baxter Building forced the trio of Victor, Sue, and Johnny to undergo extensive testing to ensure no hazardous material had made it back with them. Cliff, meanwhile, was put on life support as his body slowly failed. During quarantine, the Storm duo began to display extraordinary power, which only prompted further testing at the urging of their father.

Victor, released from quarantine before the others as he displayed no similar symptoms, and having reflected during his weeks of isolation, had taken personal responsibility for the dimensional mishap that had cost them both Reed and Cliff. Deciding that he couldn't allow his mistake to take the lives of two good men, Victor, with the aid of Dr. Caulder, began to work on a project to save Cliff's life. Though his body was failing, Cliff's brain was in-tact and healthy, and after weeks of careful designing Victor finally had the solution: nanobots. While he couldn't save Cliff's organic body, he could ensure the man would live by replacing it with a mechanical one.

More weeks passed. Cliff remained in a coma, his body slowly being dissolved and rebuilt by the nanobots. Victor spent the days at Cliff's bedside or going over the schematics for the dimensional portal and how to guarantee safety and success in the future. The Storms were finally freed from quarantine after the two months of testing proved they posed no inherent danger to themselves nor others. Sue, a gifted biologist, immediately took a fascination with how the cosmic storm had altered her and Johnny's genetic makeup, and set about feverishly studying her new biology. Johnny had also developed a fascination with the changes he had undergone, though for him it was pure excitement over his new capabilities - and his desire to show them off. The three tried to find a new routine of normal, with each failing in their respective ways.

Then, Hell broke loose. Or, more accurately, Subterranea. A disgruntled, former staff member of the Future Foundation, Harvey Elder, enacted an assault on the Baxter Building using an army of giant subterranean creatures he called Moloids. The attack nearly succeeded if not for the intervention of Sue and Johnny Storm, each wielding their respective new powers, the quick-thinking strategy of Victor, and the then-awakened Cliff Steele - now in his new robotic form. The foursome and their fantastical talents drove back the creatures and defeated Elder's plans.

With this success, Victor realized the potential the group could achieve given their newfound situation. Taking after the costumed adventurer's of old, Victor bestowed upon the fledgling team the title of:

Doom Patrol.

C H A R A C T E R M O T I V A T I O N S & G O A L S:

Mister Fantastic and the Fantastic Four are overrated. Doctor Doom and the Doom Patrol, though? Perfection. I really don't think I need to say any more about why I'm motivated to write this.

This is a group that has been around for years and has multiple adventures under their belt. They've been to Atlantis, visited Attilan, explored the Negative Zone, entered the Microverse, delved into Subterranea, and emersed themselves in Avalon. They've tangled with the likes of Blastaar and Annihilus while in the N-Zone. They've survived political upheavals and prevented the assassination of an Inhuman King. They've helped to fight off an alien invasion force that threatened New York City. And they've even dealt with the return of Reed Richards, maddened by his time in the Negative Zone, and prevented his homicidal revenge plots on several occasions. As such, they're a cohesive unit that has settled into their respective roles.

Like the Fantastic Four of the mainstream universe, this Doom Patrol is a dysfunctional family. And I'll be exploring their interpersonal dynamics just as much as I do their wacky adventures. And their zany escapades are a perfect vehicle for me to interact with the rest of the roster - which is my primary goal for this roleplay.

C H A R A C T E R N O T E S:

The Future Foundation is home to many brilliant minds. From founders Franklin Richards and Niles Caulder to senior staff members Will Magnus, Steve Dayton, and Phillip Masters. Their student roster includes the likes of Mal Duncan, Karen Beecher, Julie and Alex Power, Rita Farr, Bentley Wittman, and Alicia Masters.

I'm not going to go through the entire list of enemies and allies faced and encountered, instead I'll save that to be revealed in the IC. You can infer from the places the Doom Patrol have explored who they might have met (also keeping it vague so that it doesn't affect potential Inhuman, Atlantis, etc. players). But I will describe the team's archnemesis:

Reed Richards was lost to the world for four months. That's how long it took for the survivors of the Negative Zone incident to exit quarantine, and for Victor to design a new, stable device for them to use to return to that dimension and attempt to rescue Richards or find his remains. However, time doesn't pass in the Negative Zone as it does on Earth, and for Reed Richards nearly three hundred years had passed. Thankfully, the same cosmic storm that had changed Sue and Johnny Storm bestowed upon Reed a genetic alteration as well. Not only was his body now capable of stretching, expanding, and contracting dramatically, but all of his internal organs, veins, and the like had been replaced by a singular bacteria sac. As such, he no longer needed to eat, drink, or breathe. Nor did he age as a human ought to. These changes saved Richards' life and allowed him to survive in the harsh landscape and acidic atmosphere of the Negative Zone for centuries. This gave him a lot of time to think. And stew. And cast blame.

When the newly established Doom Patrol returned to the N-Zone they were able to successfully find and rescue their old friend. They soon found out, though, that the man they had left behind was not the same as the one they now brought back to Earth. Reed Richards wrought psychological Hell upon them as he, while quarantined and under near-constant supervision, managed to sow discord among the Doom Patrol as well as access the Future Foundation's security system and use it to attempt several deadly 'accidents' for which he framed Victor. It took days to discover Reed's actions, and by then it was too late as he managed to escape his quarantine pod and set off a series of chain-reactions within the building that destroyed a significant portion of the laboratories, decimating crucial projects, and killing three staff members.

Reed would return several more times in various attempts at revenge through masterfully-crafted plots. As of late, the former friend turned arch-nemesis, now known as the Maker, takes refuge in the European nation of Latveria where he has formed a partnership with the country's ruler, Kristoff Vernard.

S A M P L E P O S T:

The world was a kaleidoscope.

That was the first thought Susan Storm had as she looked out the viewports. Brilliant colors swirled and briefly formed into fractals before flashing by. Euclidean space seemed to give way to the abstract the deeper she and her fellow passengers hurtled into the unknown.

The sleek vessel she now stood upon, with its chrome interior and deceptively minimalist accommodations, shielded the blonde-haired scientist from the terrors outside. That same beautiful incandescence of colors, she knew, would tear her body into a billion separate atoms in less than a thousandth of a second. After all, the Microverse was not to be trifled with.

"It's terrifying." She spoke towards the transparent cockpit but her words were meant for another.

A man, tall with a handsome face, stepped up beside her and placed an arm around her shoulder. "It's wonderful, Susan," he corrected in his slight European accent.

Sue Storm smiled softly. She knew after all this time better than to try and convince Victor Von Doom otherwise. As much as he was a man of science, capable of clinically detached observation, he was also an artist. And to Victor, there was no better expression of art than that of discovery and innovation.

To borrow the words of another famed voyager, "to boldly go where no man has gone before!" That was Victor's drive in life. His passion.

She tilted her face towards his and raised on her tiptoes. Susan planted a gentle, lingering kiss against Victor's lips.

Though it was not his only passion.

"I'm going to wipe that smirk off your face with my mace."

Katar and Shayera Hol were a pair of alien law enforcement known on their homeworld of Thangar as 'Wingmen'. Thangar was the Capital of the Thanagarian Empire, the successor to the Polaran Empire which had previously ruled the Polaris System. In the spirit of their predecessors, the Thanagarians had become an expansionist race that plundered other worlds and stripped them of their resources and treasures to fund their ever-expanding fleet. Numerous members of their conquered worlds were taken as slaves and used to further the goals of the Thanagarians.

As Wingmen, Katar and Shayera were responsible for ensuring the general populace's obedience to the Empire and among their duties was prisoner transportation. It was this duty they were carrying out when the pair's patrol craft was pulled through a wormhole before crashlanding on Earth nearly five thousand years ago. Surviving the crash, Katar and Shayera found themselves on an unfamiliar world in a foreign system. Seeking out a settlement, the pair found their way to Memphis.

The Egyptians were astonished by the pair of Thanagarians and immediately became enamoured with their visitors due to the resemblance of their armour to the god, Horus. Welcomed with open arms, the pair were worshipped as gods by the people who believed that Horus had blessed them with his children. However, one of the high priests, Hath-Set, grew envious of the attention and worship the pair received. Craving it all for himself, Hath-Set began to covet Shayera as well, stalking the woman until he began to obsess over her.

However, when the high priest finally confessed his feelings to Shayera, she spurned his affections choosing to remain loyal to Katar. In vengeance, Hath-Set planned to murder the two aliens exposing them as flesh and blood instead of the gods the people believed them to be. Poisoning their drinks in order to weaken the pair of Thanagarians, Hath-Set had their unconscious bodies moved to his sacred chamber where he planned to carry out their murder as a sacrifice to his own god. Using a knife made from the heart of a meteor, the blade cursed Katar and Shayera to forever be reincarnated, only to fall in love all over again. Then, at the point when their love for each other was greater, the hourglass would turn, and they would both die before their time.

Since that first death, Katar and Shayera have lived out hundreds of lives, each different from the last and plagued with the memories of those that came before. Each life followed the same template, the pair would grow up, start their lives and eventually find the other, fall in love and then watch the other die. Sometimes one would die years before the other, other times they would die together, but no matter the lifetime the pair were forced to endure one tragic end after another.

C H A R A C T E R M O T I V A T I O N S & G O A L S:

This latest reincarnation of Katar Hol has been slowly piecing together his past lives, using his knowledge of history to run the Midway City Museum of Ancient History. Unlike previous iterations, he has yet to meet his Shayera and instead has been working as an archeologist to recover artifacts from around the world while leading a double life as a vigilante. Cursed with an insatiable need for justice, Katar has found himself unable to ignore the troubles of the world and has single-handedly taken it upon himself to clean up Midway City. Recovering his Nth Metal armour, he's been dubbed both a 'Guardian Angel' and the 'Hawkman' by the local media despite his heavy-handed methods.

Seeking a way to end the curse put on him by Hath-Set, Carter's passion for archeology comes searching for the same knife that had cursed himself and Shayera. Unfortunately, he has yet to discover the blade leading him to continue his search whenever he has time away from the museum.

On an author level, I believe Hawkman could be an interesting character for me to portray. Given his history and greater scope, he has a lot in common with Thor while having less popular mythos than the likes of Batman meaning it'll require less cooperation and sharing on my part. His power levels and abilities allow him to travel the globe and interact with other players and characters for both collaborations or large scale events.

Hawkman's rougher personality will likely be a challenge for me to portray but at the same time, I think it could be fun playing a character who is rougher around the edges and not afraid to speak his mind. For the time being, I'm going to be keeping Carter strictly Earthbound and doing small arcs to get my feet wet before looking into a grander scope and using Thanagar and the other mythology attached there. It is my intention to also have Hath-Set and Vandal Savage be one and the same ala DC's Legends of Tomorrow. I really like the contrast between the two characters in much the same way I did when I pitted Thor against Vandal (at the excellent suggestion of @Morden Man).

C H A R A C T E R N O T E S:

Characters I Intend to Use:
-Hawkgirl/Hawkwoman
-Vandal Savage
-Gentleman Ghost
-Shadow Thief
-And probably others but I don't want to get ahead of myself.

S A M P L E P O S T:

The older model American built pick-up truck weaved in and out of the busy afternoon traffic. Exiting the interstate, the rebuilt engine let loose a loud rumble before the vehicle took the ramp and merged into the multilane road that wove its way through Midway City's downtown. Inside sat a scowling man who held a white knuckle grip on the steering wheel all the while cursing under his breath to himself. While he supposed he should be lucky he wasn't facing jail time, court-ordered anger management was far from high on his list of priorities on his day off.

These days the driver tried to spend as little time in the city proper as he could. The world had certainly changed in the last five years, ever since the blue pyjama-wearing-boy scout the media had dubbed 'Superman' had literally flown onto every television screen in North America. Before that, it felt the world had never had to worry about a 'super-villain', the bad guys in movies were still Germans, Russians and gang bangers. Now the world had to worry about inter-dimensional starfish and hive minds attacking New York every other Wednesday. It wasn't the driver's fault he was angry about it, everyone should have been upset by it, thoroughly enraged even.

Problems used to be solved by the guy with the bigger gun, now problems were solved by the guy with the bigger team of metahumans at their disposal. First came the Justice League, then came S.H.I.E.L.D. with their Avengers. What happened when either one of those teams decided to seize power for themselves, what happens when the Justice League decides they want to be the 'Justice Lords'.

Ruled over by a man dressed as a rodent.

Not on my watch.

"Carter Hall?"

The driver had been so caught up in his thoughts, the rest of the drive had disappeared. Snapping back to reality he found himself sitting in a semi-circle with several other adults, each looking about as happy about where they were as he was inwardly feeling.

"Mr. Hall, unfortunately as this is your third time attending, I do need you to actually speak or else I can't sign off on your court papers."

It was as though Carter had been on auto-pilot. One moment he had been in his truck and the next here. He scarcely remembered parking the vehicle, let alone entering the building, taking a seat or even where the piping hot cup of coffee firmly grasped in his right hand came from. The out of body experience was something Carter was all too familiar with. Visions of other lives regularly haunted his slumbering mind. Worlds, languages and experiences he could have never known, never imagined vividly came to him while he tossed and turned only to wake in the morning with no clear thought of where they came from nor any sort of rest. Even now the heavy bags hung under his eyes which no doubt prompted his unconscious need for coffee.

"One moment," Carter replied breaking the heavy silence that hung over the room while the other individuals tried with no avail to not awkwardly stare at the man who seemingly just came out of a trance. Taking a long sip of the sobering beverage in his hand, it took almost all of Carter's willpower to not rear back in disgust. The burnt taste of overcooked cheap grinds invaded every corner of his mouth, prompting him to swallow hard and fast. The scorching liquid searing every inch down the back of his throat. With a slight sputter, he placed the styrofoam cup on the ground, before standing. Crossing the semi-circle of chairs in a few strides, Carter position himself behind the podium the counsellor had previously held.

Gazing out over the group, Carter realized this was the first time he had ever truly looked over his fellow 'inmates'. It was a small group all said and done, only about five of them. One looked to be exactly the type you'd expect in an anger management session. Neck tattoo, gym and steroid inflated arms, too tight of a tank top clinging beneath a very loud jacket. The man next to him was the polar opposite. Glasses, a rumpled business suit and a tie that was clearly too tight. Another was a young woman who looked barely out of high school. Her eyes darted from the floor to the clock adorning the wall. Her left leg shook while she chewed the end of a pen held to her lips between two fingers, clearly in need of a hit of nicotine.

That left only two others. Another male with absolutely nothing remarkable about him, if Carter had to guess why the fourth figure was here, he'd go with spousal abuse. It was a shot in the dark, he had no grounds of justification for it. But he knew the type and Mr. Bland screamed it. That left only 'Inmate Number Five'.

She was stunning. Maybe not in the traditional sense, but there was something about her that immediately took Carter's breath away. Well dressed, prim and poised; obviously white collar which led to several questions about why on Earth she'd be in anger management. Red hair spilled over her shoulders, outlining the angular features of her face. A pair of piercing green eyes were raised to meet Carter's own gaze, they were fierce and full of life as they stared back defiantly, seemingly glowing in comparison to her radiant olive skin.

"Mr. Hall? Uh, you actually need to speak."

Carter shook his head, breaking the staring contest with the captivating woman. Out of the corner of his eye, he saw her smirk.

Suddenly, he didn't hate this group quite as much.
