a strange one, Heidi has lived her life being an outsider in whatever group that she was apart of - until she found the group that was really for her. The girl always had a heavy interest in spirituality and even some occultism and then some. She always speaks in a low volume and ends up rambling about a bunch of different stuff. Usually the symbolism of this, the meaning of that... and usually it ends up falling on deaf ears or nobody listens. The girl is very outward and likes talking with people about whatever comes to mind, and while Heidi is a talker, she's also a listener. She pays attention to what people say and pieces together their little puzzles... while also being a shoulder to cry on if she needs to be. Heidi believes that everyone is a puzzle, one that she wants to piece together and figure out their psyche (or what makes them tick). She always likes guessing what people are going to do or say next and if they do something that she can't predict, then she gets thrown off. Heidi is a bit of a manipulator... she is a stripper, after all. Using her knowledge of how people act she carefully chooses her words to get the best outcome.

Born a native of New York to a pair of working parents (one of which is a Liberian immigrant), they tried to give Heidi a better life here in the states than they had. Though there was always something a little... off, about Heidi. She didn't exactly get along with other kids and was always seemingly an outsider. One that found enjoyment in isolation rather than interacting with people, which they found weird as the girl would rather bury herself in a book than party. Just what is wrong with her?! She says that she never really got people as she grew up, and found find herself doing anything other than what they considered normal. Heidi, as a child, found it easier to stay inside and keep to herself, which meant that she stayed out of trouble.

Her parents constantly tried to push her towards social situations by the means of after school activities... which she didn't take to other than the writing club and her future passion: the theater. Yes, Heidi was a theater kid and once she went there she immediately took to their lot. They were open, they had fun, and they took a liking to Heidi herself. She was merely the makeup and costume artist but whenever someone had a cold or didn't want to do a role she was an actor. Something that she took a liking to... and despite that reserved demeanor Heidi was very overdramatic.

There's not much else to say that Heidi partied with the theater kids and made some true friends that made her parents happy. Then everyone graduated and then went their separate ways and Heidi went to college for the arts... as the stage was her passion and she was going to get a degree in that field! It was a grueling four years of college - full of stress, tears, enemies, hookups, and shitty jobs to pass the time - but eventually, Heidi got her bachelor's degree in the arts! The first thing that she got was a job as a conductor and it was everything that she could have dreamed of, and more...

... Until she saw her salary.

New York's a very expensive state to live in and her salary wasn't enough to cut it despite how much she liked being a conductor in a big orchestra. She didn't like it but a friend of hers who played the violin in the orchestra suggested her for a little side hustle: stripping. Heidi was hesitant about it at first but she warmed up to it once she got on the stage, and the life of a stripper was peculiar enough for Ms. Thomas. It gave her a little extra money to avoid getting thrown out on the streets but she also wanted to move out where it was cheaper, the south sounded appealing.

However she was getting bled dry through bills so that was a far cry but she remained hopeful... however, the Return happened and Heidi wasn't aware but she possesses the soul of the primitive God of fire, Agni. When she performed on stage one day she didn't realize it but the place was engulfed in fire due to her new Godly abilities flaring up and going out of control. The fire department saved the day but a bunch of people was still injured, including Heidi herself. She had to spend a little while in the hospital... which she also set on fire.

It didn't take a genius to realize that there was a pattern and that she was not "herself". The letter came and she didn't like the sound of it... but she also didn't have any other options here.

Fire-Manipulation: The fires of Agni were stated to be more than just mere fire, a consuming force that transports sacrifices to the Hindu pantheon. Naturally... Heidi's pyrokinesis is a lot weaker than that. She's not capable of burning all to ash, but she's capable of producing one hell of a flame. Heidi's flames are not a traditional red but a dark blue color that symbolizes that maybe they come from a different source. They burn a bit hotter than average flame but the average person will probably not tell the difference when they're on fire. It's simple, Heidi can produce this flame from her hands and in this environment - it's easier to produce the flame from her body, however.

Water is naturally the opposite of Heidi's fire, and if you soak her in the fire she won't be able to use her fire until she dries off. Of course, her fire is susceptible that regular fire is so I'm not going to go over that. The big issue is that the fire burns up the air quickly and it also produces a lot of smoke when she's in close quarters. So that makes it dangerous for her to use along with the fact that it causes dehydration so she'll have to constantly drink water.

Vague, elusive, eccentric. If one were being polite this would be some of the keywords they would use to describe Gray. More commonly however the keyword is 'freak'.

Gray is, for human standards never mind a bum, unfailingly polite and patient with people. But it comes with an unnerving serenity, an unblinking gaze and slightly cocked smile that consistently seems to allude that Gray is privy to far more than his conversation partner could comprehend. Gray is passive even in the face of verbal or, rarely, physical confrontation. It could be owed to a lifetime of substance abuse and/or some form of mental condition but Gray could also possibly do it as a defence mechanism. In his mind it is easier to let people vent at him than it is to challenge.

Gray is very often lethargic or deliberate and to the point in his manner of speaking. As said he is polite but he is also tactlessly blunt at times. Owing it to others to be kind yet give his honest thoughts and opinions should he need to, this couple with his previously mentioned misinterpreted condescension to people typically ends in him being dismissed if he's lucky. But then all this is assuming the average person would even desire to talk to him at all.

There is a darker side to Gray. While appearing outwardly calm and disengaged with reality he is actually quite melancholic in ways he himself has never understood. Self-destruction is his most frequently recurring fault. Diluting his senses and feelings through drugs or putting the happiness and comfort of others far above his own. It may sound selfless but Gray himself frequently struggles to discern if his personality is true kindness or if he simply enjoys the idea of him being kind. While he projects an aura of control and understanding, Gray is a wreak within, struggling with issues of self-doubt, isolation and at his darkest, regarding himself as something less than human.

A businessman - flushed with cash from some recent financial success and intoxicated on an expenses paid vacation from the company. Decided to celebrate in America the only way a single rich man could, excessive proposition of prostitutes. Of course one thing led to another as these situations are want to do and one of his conquests of the night ended up bearing a child. Gray was never sure if perhaps she couldn't bring herself to get rid of him or if she tried and it didn't take. All he knows is that his knowledge of his parents ends there and picks up to where he becomes a ward of the state.

Gray was raised in St. Agnes orphanage, a strictly catholic orphanage that had sermons and Sunday school sessions as mandatory parts of their charges routines. As he was left there as an infant, the staff took it upon themselves to christen and name him Neil Gray - Gray being one of their go to surnames for when they were given a completely unnamed child. As he grew, Gray was noted to have difficulty expressing himself, not even saying his first word until he was a year and a half old and requiring on and off speech therapy when he was younger. Despite this however, he was seen as a happy and friendly - if somewhat shy - member of the orphanage.

It was a surprise then to the staff when as he reached high school age he seemed to regress inward as his studies passed him by. As far as they discerned from teachers he wasn't any trouble nor was he being treated poorly by his classmates. He simply seemed to switch off when at school. In spite of their many attempts otherwise the nuns at the orphanage could not seem to get Neil to take his studies seriously and with an orphanage full of children of varying ages, he couldn't be prioritised over them either. As he neared his eighteenth birthday it became increasingly clear Neil was not graduating from high school.

Then he left.

They had been kind to him and he was privately sorry to have let them down but schooling did not ever make sense to Gray, he didn't understand it and in his mind it had made it perfectly clear it didn't understand him. He hugged the nuns and pastors who had ostensibly been his family, shook the hands of his friends and left St. Agnes. Then walked. Walked in whatever direction took his fancy. Left the town, left the city, left the country. Gone.

The initial years were difficult. Adapting to new customs and a vastly different manner of living, Gray was spaced out and moved from place to place, taking whatever jobs he scrounged up and sleeping in anyplace he was able, from the kindness of strangers to on a soiled mattress under the stars. It suited him well enough, new people new places. He got smarter and more attuned to it as the years went by. How to scrounge up a decent meal if need be, how to make a dollar last several days, who to talk to and what to say when he arrived in a new place. He was a nomad and that was fine enough for him.

But then, as it often does, life came in to complicate things for him. It began small. Strange distorted visions through the eyes of other people that Gray continued to write off as dreams or bad trips and lingering highs. But it eventually became undeniable to him when his hand shot out a short beam of pure white light in the middle of a full moon.

Thinking it was about time to leave and trying to wrap his head over how his simple existence had became so cluttered and confusing to him yet again, he set off for the bright distant lights of New York City. Even if he'd wanted to put the strangeness behind him (and he did) it became a complete non option when he woke up one morning in an alley to find a letter placed deliberately on his chest. Inviting him, by name. Finding him in the middle of basically nowhere. Telling him that despite his repeated attempts in life to act otherwise. He was important.

Light Beams: Perhaps playing on Khonsu's dominion over the moon, Gray's main form of offensive capabilities is a light shining through the darkness. The beams are slightly situational, they pack a decent punch regardless but require an effort-ed swing of the arm to be called forth, are a little slower moving than you'd expect basically a laser to be and are powered partially by the cycle of the moon. This goes both ways however, as the moon is closer to shining fully to the earth so to does the beam brighten and become whiter in colour as well as doing a considerably larger amount of damage.

Stains Of Time: What was, what may be and what will be. Gray is still technically a mortal body however so able to mentally cope with the power of a god of time he is not. More accurate to describe these instances would be flashes, occuring at random and typically being more hurt than help. Unique among the other Returned is that Khonsu's dominion over time gives Gray occasional glimpses into the eyes of past incarnations to memories from Khonsu himself.

As stated, Gray's visions of the past and future are extremely temperamental and mostly random. He struggles to maintain a hold on these visions also, likening them as similar to dreams, with only extremely noteworthy or visceral visions managing to be held on to and remembered. Furthermore, glimpses into the future can only seem to show what might be most of the time. In general, whether perhaps due to his drug use or simply mortal frame, Gray seems to also give the impression of only scratching the surface of the abilities Khonsu has bestowed him and seems unwilling to experiment further with them.

The insight to past incarnations has greatly worsened Gray's feelings of self doubt and distress. He has seen people who are and are not him be cruel and kind in equal measure. Whether due to Khonsu's nature or his own he is unsure, but the knowledge of this nauseates him.

Anna is a NICU Nurse. She is strong and independent and cares about those she takes care of. Anna is pro-life (as n all lives), pro baby, and pro family. She has the Nurse dark humor. If your are a drug user, abusive, boyfriend who hurts babies, she might wish harm to you. Her main flaw is being idealistic almost utopia of how the world should be, It get in the way of the way the world is. Her two inner doubts are that she isn’t making a difference and she will be single for ever. Being a Goddess of Fertility, her Biological clock ticks really loudly

Ever sense Anna was a child she has been all about children. She was the little girl that would be sitting holding someone baby and singing it to sleep, giving it a bottle and even changing diapers. Through Junior High and High School she, when she was not in school or sleeping, she would probably be seen with a baby in her arms or on a shoulder. This did not giver her much of a social life in school. When she went to college she became a Nurse and when she graduated was hired as a NICU/PICU Nurse.

She does go out with friends but she tends to drive most men off quickly. You can hear her Biological Clock ticking blocks away. She wants to be married, but is picky!

She is the Goddess of Earth Magic and fertility. She has influence on how plants and animals grow and developed. She has the ability to heal and nurture life. So she is good with plants and children. She has the ability to speaking with the dead, those returned to the earth.

She gives women strength that the need to protect and defend themselves.

When she does use her powers to fight, she shows no mercy. Earth magic is unforgiving. She will fight indirectly and by proxy: swarms of insects, animals, maggots and worms, diseases, and sickness.

Anna is not a fighter and abhors senseless killing. Her powers work best when she is connected to the earth and not so well over water or in the air.

Rui didn't find her voice for a very long time. As the youngest of four siblings, she was reduced frequently to the bottom of the pile, and all three of her brothers would make snide remarks in jest, but over time, Rui started to take these remarks deep into her heart. Her mother would always try to reach out to her and listen to the words that others mocked, but as time passed, she'd just press her lips together in a tight smile and shake her head. However, this didn't mean that Rui didn't have a voice of her own. She's a young woman that speaks passionately about her enjoyments and the things she likes in the world around her. Equally, she'll stand up when she witnesses injustice because she knows that people deserve to have a voice of their own.

With a lot of suppressed frustration under the surface, Rui is also known to have a bit of a temper. It's usually reasonable anger but on occasion, she will snap completely. She's always very apologetic in the aftermath if she's genuinely wrong and will go out of her way to try and make things right. Most of all, she believes it's most important that individuals have enough conviction and humanity to do the right thing but she's also aware that everyone has flaws.

On the day to day, she's pretty happy-go-lucky but just like the weather, her mood can shift fast. She’s still living with the pain of her parent’s divorce and the oppression of her brothers and reminds herself frequently that she doesn’t need to live by the way they have made her feel. She can find strength in herself.

Rui was born in the Bay of Plenty region of New Zealand in the city of Rotorua. The area is renowned for its geothermal activity and Māori culture and as a child, Rui immersed herself in it adoringly. She was fascinated by the tourists that flocked to see the bubbling pools in Te Puia’s Whakarewarewa Valley and her mother would remind her that talking to strangers was not smart. Yet, there was always a smile on her face as she tugged her daughter away from a crowd of sunburnt and grinning tourists. Life at home was a little bit tougher and a lot more manic.

Her father always had his head in the clouds and would pay little attention to the bad attitudes and poor choices of his sons while her mother constantly fussed and attempted to do right by them despite their lack of want to try. Overshadowed and spoken over, Rui felt like a feature on the mantlepiece, just watching the havoc unfold around her. Some days, as she watched her mother desperately asking for her father to step in and help control their sons, it was like waiting for a wave to hit or a storm to develop... waiting on some explosion and final realisation that it was his turn to step in but there was nothing. Rui tried to speak up for her mother and tried to do her best but she was stopped before she even got started and when her father did speak it was to tell her to close her mouth about something she knew nothing about.

Yet, Rui could see the love there. She saw complacency from her father but she heard stories from her mother about how charming of a young man he'd been when they met and how he'd swept her away with so many stories. Sometimes, memories are simply not enough and when Rui was a young teenager and her brothers were already much older and causing havoc, it all went too far. Her mother was tired of feeling alone and of the level of disrespect shown by her sons. And Rui was tired of it too. One night, as her mother cried as yet another report of bad behaviour reacher their home, Rui took it into her own hands. The fight warranted the bloody lip and bruised eyes but she landed scratches on her own on her brother and when she looked at her mother and told her what she'd done, Rui was grinning from ear to ear even though it stung.

Shortly after, her mother left the home and took Rui with her. Several months after moving to a new town, she met another man. A handsome man and well-spoken American who talked about life in New York and how glamorous it could be. At first, Rui was sceptical to believe anything he said but when she saw her mother's face light up... she believed that even if New York wasn't amazing, this was best for her mother. After several trips between countries and 18 months passed, the three moved to New York together and Rui started a whole new life thousands of miles away from her treasured landscapes and culture. New York is a big old place and it's easy to feel lonely and lost and Rui was somewhere totally new and it did take its toll.

She grew consumed by her image and the perception people had of her. She longed for home and the slow-paced life but eventually, as the years have slipped by, she's found herself a new home. Yet, things have begun to unsettle her. When she is feeling down or upset or angry, the world around her seems darker. The sky is increasingly close and if she's gritting her teeth on the way home, it's as if the wind whips harder at her cheeks as she goes. One night as she screamed at her brother down the phone to stop harassing their mother, lighting burst past her window and struck a car on the street below. It's just lightning, she told herself as she instantly hung up the phone. No other thunderclaps or strikes of lightning followed.

She has certainly noted that she feels stronger. Her regular routines don't seem as tiring and even small things are more easily accomplished but she has been calling herself deluded. Maybe it's just a really good day but stranger things happen on bad days... When the letter came, Rui laughed at first and then looked at the sky. Part of her knew she had to do what it said.

Weather Manipulation: Tāwhirimātea was the God of weather, including thunder and lightning, wind, clouds and storms. His powers were fully displayed through the war waged against his siblings and the tempest that followed but Rui’s powers are much more slight but are seemingly linked to her mood. A clap of thunder in a moment of anger, a dark sky and clouds heavy with rain when she’s sad, a whisper of a gentle breeze when she’s laughing. She doesn’t understand how manipulating the weather works or how far it can extend. It could only be a small radius or could influence a much bigger picture – she’s unsure and hasn’t even fully accepted it herself.

Rui doesn’t seem to have direct control over how she influences the world around her and if she can be caught off guard by her own influence on the world around her, then anyone can be. As she has a temper and feels emotions very strong, this could possibly be problematic for the intensity of the weather around her and how powerful it becomes… and whether she can make it stop. She knows that she has a responsibility to understand more about what she can do but the weight of it, even in the short time, is already making the world around her seem a lot darker.

Conner is a spontaneous and outgoing young man. He likes to have fun. His favorite activities are surfing, swimming, playing video games, and reading comic books. He enjoys socializing with others and being the center of attention. He is an handshaking, touching kind of guy. He openly expresses affection through hugs, holding hands, as well as stroking and grabbing shoulders. He particularly likes flirting with attractive guys. He makes friends easily, and will happily chat up strangers if they interest him somehow. He enjoys social situations, and believes that everyone else would too. He's likely to convince people who he perceives as being lonely to come along with things like 'come on, you'll enjoy it!' or 'you don't know what you're missing!' While he does need to spend time alone once in a while, he gets bored if he does it too long. He values all his relationships, and will happily stick with anyone he considers a friend.

He can often be found with a smile on his face, even during stressful situations. He often makes jokes, when the situation is tense to lift people's spirits. He may tease others in a 'playful' way, and expect them not to 'take it so seriously.' He does feel bad if somebody does actually get their feelings hurt by what he says. Sometimes his attempts at humor are read as him not taking the situation seriously. While he does joke around a lot, he is capable of getting things done. He just doesn't feel the need to be so dour about it. He often suggests that others not be so serious.

Conner enjoys showing off his skills for others in order to get praise. He is prone to bragging about the things he is good at. He does it in a 'look at this awesome thing I can do!' way, rather than an 'I'm better than you.' way.

He likes to live in the moment rather than dwelling on the past. This means Conner is not the best when it comes to organization, or planning. Due to his lack of planning ahead, it makes him impulsive, and he tends to jump into things without a second thought. He gets bored when he is not sufficiently stimulated, and will complain about being bored. He is also not the most tidy person. He does clean up his mess after the fact if it's pointed out to him, but he has trouble avoiding making a mess in the first place.

Growing up a member of a rich family that has high standards, and a seemingly perfect older sister has given him a number of insecurites. He’s always worried about not being good enough, and that he doesn’t belong anywhere. He feels like he has something to prove. He wants to have a purpose in life. He tries to hide his worries behind a mask of cheerfulness, but they’re always there. It manifests as envy torwards others he thinks are better than him.

Conner grew up in the Upper East Side of New York. Comner was the youngest son of the wealthy and prominent Waters family. His parents were quite strict, and they had high standards for their kids. Conner had an older sister named Arianna, and she was the the apple of the family’s eye, at least it appeared that way to Conner. She was beautiful, talented, intelligent, and it felt like she could do no wrong. To him, it always seemed like anything he could do she could do better.

In his teenage years, Conner gave up trying to live up to the high standards set by his sister. He only did just well enough in school to get by, and spent a lot of time slacking off. He would often act up in class, and get himself into trouble. There were days where he would cut class to go to the beach and surf. Surfing was one of his favorite activities. It was definitely something Arianna wouldn’t do. He enjoyed the thrill and adrenaline high of catching a big wave. That, and he also flirting with the hot guys in swimsuits on the beach.

He continued coasting through life trying to have as much fun as possible. Even though his grades weren’t the best, he was rather popular with other students, and had a few close friends. His parents wished he would put more effort into his studies, and better represent his family name, but Conner didn’t really care to try. His sister was obviously the shining star of the family, so why did they need him for?

He graduated from high school, and currently has a job at a local surf shop. It helps pay for his car. He still lives with his parents. He’s not sure what he wants to do with his life, even though his parents keep insisting he go to college.

He was out surfing one day, and he wiped out on the waves. Not a big deal, it happens sometimes. What was a big deal was that he could breathe under the water. That was a big deal... He found it odd, but didn’t think too much of it until he found the letter lying on his bed back at home...

Water Manipulation:Conner has the ability to control water. How strong this is varies depends on how much water is available. He can produce tidal waves if he’s actually swimming in the ocean, though this does require a lot of effort and concentration on his part.

Aquapathy: Conner can communicate with all forms of aquatic life. This includes fish, dolphins, whales. squids, octopuses, even frogs. If it lives in or around the water, Conner can talk to it. If Conner asks nicely, he can get the creatures of the deep to do things for him. Most of the time, they’re inclined to listen...

Underwater breathing: He can breathe underwater. Pretty self explanatory.

Conner cannot create water, only manipulate existing sources of water. Making him useless in situations where there isn’t enough water available. While it won’t kill him, being a God of the seas, Conner’s powers get weaker if he hasn’t been in contact with salt water for an extended period of time. He must be in salt water at least once a day.
