Hey hey! It's been a while since I've pitched some ideas to GM! I've been having a mad craving to do some RPing on here. Since I've only got one RP on the go currently, I have room to add another! I have many ideas, so I'll just make this one post to put forward a few ideas I've had swimming around in my head. So here we go!
Military Mecha in Space (4 Votes)
So this one is fairly straight forward just by the title alone. It's a military RP... in space... with mechs. Yes it's that simple. We're going for high power robot action in zero-G with big inspirations being Gundam, Macross, and Zone of the Enders! I want grit, I want jargon. This craving spawned from reading back to an old RP that I loved that featured all of these things.
Armored Core
Yup, you read that right. Straight up Armored Core, set around the same period as AC4 and For Answer. This is a post apocalyptic mech RP set on an irradiated earth, ruled by mega corporations and fought over by mercenaries. This is a bit more high speed than the other mech anime in this list of pitches, with mechs that break the sound barrier in the blink of an eye! The tech here is a bit more fantastical, and far more dangerous.
Steampunk Resistance Fighters(This RP has been voted, and an OOC has been made)
I have a world that has been my baby for almost a decade, if not more by now... It's been a long time, let's just say that. Anyways, it has tons of established lore, and one of the many things that can be done with it, is be used for fighting as a resistance against an overpowering occupying empire. It's steampunk with some twists and turns that really sets the world apart from other steampunk settings. This one can either be handled entirely freeform (as is the traditional form of RPing on RPG), or it can have some more 'game-y' established rules.
Near Future Fighter Pilots
Oh yeah, we're basically going Ace Combat on this one. Our characters are fighter pilots from a variety of countries! A mysterious new threat has hacked into the world government's drone network and has taken over. It's up to the pilots to go back to good old manned flights, and take the fight to the drones in the sky!
Saving a dreamworld
The credit for this one can't go to me. The idea and world this would be set in is HEAVILY inspired and based off of a very close to my heart RP on the Guild that took place long before the Guildfall. The protagonists are from all over the world, they are social rejects, or just have been dealt a poor hand in life. When they all go to sleep at the same time, they all wake up together in a hut, cast away in a mysterious fantasy land. They don't know how they got there, or even where 'there' is. All they know, is that they're somehow chosen ones, and have an arsenal of superhuman abilities to stop a great cataclysm from befalling the world. Then, when they go to sleep in the dreamworld, they wake back up in the real world. Things begin to blur to them, and it doesn't take long before they're trying to connect with one another in reality.
Ocean Planet Explorers
This one has a bit of a different tone to it. It's more slow burning. More suspenseful. More dramatic! We're all scientists, security experts, doctors, tech whizes, and entrepeneurs. Mankind has expanded to the stars, and they have come across an ocean world that is rich with resources and biodiversity. Think subnautica on this. The characters are tasked with taking a large submarine and exploring a newly discovered trench in the ocean floor. It is so deep that not even high powered scans from orbit can reach the bottom. Stranger yet, there seems to be strange signals coming from it. Things go wrong, and we all get stranded in the sub, sinking deeper and deeper into alien depths. There's horror. There's violence. And there's more...
Fantasy Ice Age
A magical calamity has frozen the world over. The remnants of mankind have retreated underground, using geothermal vents to keep warm. There is no telling if this ice age will ever end. But one thing is certain, deep in the coldest wastes is a magical nexus that is the source of the cold. If it can be tamed, then the world might thaw. The only problem is... It is deep inside the territory of a savage race of creatures that are immune to the cold. Mankind's heroes must lead an expedition into the frozen wastes to put an end to the freezing. Everything is at stake, and humanity is willing to put everything on the table to put an end to it.
Japanese Steampunk(1 Vote)
The Hokai Empire is powerful and advanced. It has expanded far into foreign lands thanks to its technological advancements. But it has grown too large, and now the empire is fracturing from within. Worse yet, the assimilated peoples have begun to rise up against the Shogunate, and the threatened neighbors are seemingly preparing for war. The Shogun has gathered a team of heroes and huntsmen to find an extinct species of animal, long thought to be extinct, and return it to him. Having such an awesome creature would surely give the Shogun the necessary strength to stabilize his empire. There's one caveat, returning empty handed means certain death. Good luck finding something that doesn't exist!
Let me know what you guys would like to see! If you have any questions about any of these settings, please don't hesitate to ask! I am also open to other pitches, or modifications to these ideas even. Please put your interest below! I will tally up the interest and hopefully have a setting picked by Friday!
