Life got in the way between me and the old roleplay crew and I never got their real names or social media accounts, so I'll probably never reconnect with them again. =( I had a proboards/zetaboard/invisionfree forum by the name of RPnation and went by MLS and later LostButterfly. We had a Chatango and we were chatting and roleplaying constantly. I really want to find friendships and community like I used to have, here, but it's been more difficult to make friends than I hoped.

I've been on a quest to look for my friends from a Sailor Moon rp from 14 years ago. I haven't had any luck and facebook doesn't have the option to search by email addresses anymore =(

@zelxel Honestly, I'm really sorry to hear that. Losing track of old friends from the parts of your life that they helped to shape is one of the harder lessons to learn. Sometimes, you just can't find them again and that's a reality that we have to face when we lose people important to us, especially if like me you were too busy looking at your feet and not thinking about the future and how to prepare for it. But, it's also a good reminder to hold on to the new friends you do make so it doesn't happen again.

In my case, we were just a bunch of kids and we never thought about giving out each other's contact information because we were always online at the same place. I never knew their full names and they didn't know mine. Many of the people I did keep in touch with simply grew out of the internet and have moved on to living a fulfilling life with a job and a family. Roleplay is after all a very time consuming thing.

14 years is a very long time. People can change and move all over the world in a decade. But who knows? The world is big but made very small with how connected it is today and maybe you'll throw the right combination of keywords at Google and you'll find an old friend. Until then, maybe instead of chasing after them, you can make some new ones. Besides, the best way to get over someone is to get unde- I know you want to find some people to play with in the world that is Sailor Moon and starting a group or 1x1 game can often be a daunting task. I think someone had mentioned this to you before but try joining some other similar 'Magical Girl' style RPs and make some solid friends there and with them, you can transition over to the Sailor Scouts.

@zelxelYea, all the time. I used to have this fantastic group back in the 2000's. We used to all hang out on the Travian forum of all places and do a lot of RPing together. Well, time did its thing and personalities changed, we grew apart. One thing lead to another and I've not seen them in over a decade. I also gave not had a game since either as without friends to play with my natural instinct is to sit down in a corner and be the one awkward guy at a party that just creepily watches as others have fun. Exactly what I am doing right now. :(

Unlike you however I have no desire to reconnect with them. That part of my life is over and I know that even if I were to meet them I and them will have changed too much for it to be like the old times.

So I get how you are feeling 100%. And I wish you all luck in your quest. Maybe it will pay off.

I had some friends from when I played Diablo 2 a lot. Had a very tough year when I was around 13 or so. Didn't want to burden my family with it. Was already staying up late and started playing that. They were all a bit older than me. Two were like 17/18 and one was in her early 20s. Helped out a lot, talked with them a lot, and then it just kinda stopped one day.

Good folks, helped me out when I needed it. Didn't realize how much they helped or how cool they were being until I was older. Wish we had traded some form of communication more permanent than Blizzard(.)net usernames so I could thank them.

Good looking out homies.
