The dark forest still loomed beyond the Bronze Castle's walls, both a source of worry and reassurance for the citizens of the Bronze Castle. Meltriz Reruel Du Meruel, newly crowned King by the Castle's citizens, looked over the rough handwriting on the papers before her. She had made huge leaps in united several tribes of people, but there were still unknown dangers out there. One of her reports from the goblin enforcers mentions the discovery, or rather the rediscovery of Spikes, strange artifacts that grants its users abilities beyond magic's reproduction, but always limited to its concept. Even with the highly unknown nature of these Spikes, the users of it was something she desperately needed. Able, powerful hands able to tame this place. With that, she sent out a decree to her trusted lieutenants; gather these Spiked people, and find those willing to work for the good of the Kingdom.



~Summary of what the rp will be~
The Bronze Castle is more accurately a single town kingdom, found recently by the elf Reruel by uniting several tribes of monsters and occupying an ancient crumbling castle. The story will focus mostly on the Spikers, users of the titular Spikes, as they solve problems for the Castle, be it big or small. Spikes are artifacts pierced into one's flesh to gain its ability around its concept, ranging from small earrings and nose piercings, to actual spikes that needs to be piercing the heart.

Setting will be mostly fantasy, with magic being immense world moving things or subtle woven miracles requiring intense will, time and/or concentration rather than things to be slung around. Humans are exceedingly rare, at least in the Bronze Castle's location, where the united monster tribes are more numerous, with perhaps minor smatterings of other types of intelligent monsters around. What humans there are are almost always lost people brought here by some means or another. There might be more adult themes, considering demons exists, as well as other more horrific murderous monsters.

tldr; basically adventurers but youre in the only known place of civilization and youre trying not to die.

No. As of the time of writing, you can either be one of the several monster tribes, a lost human, a demon or fairy. Other monsters maaaaayyy be acceptable depending on how I feel about it.

Races we can play are answered above but basically only the usual buncha monsters. Don't be pulling out some weird creature from the very depths of the warp that makes it hard to interact with one another ;w;

Magic is more wresting control of the world around you, and thus are unsuited for immediate things like being in combat and wanting to destroy that odd bandit over there. There are other types of magic, like rune engravings, and some monster races can influence the world around them easier like fairies over plant life, but none are the immediate spell slinging fireball magic. With the exception of the Spikes, which only grant magic according to its concept. If in actual war however, the nature of the conflict allows the time required to wrest magical destruction upon the enemy, like a flood to wash away troops, a burning wind or even a thunderstorm. Though that is rare, because once two wizards battle, its more a battle of wills, each trying to wrest control from one another.

More practical magic include rain dances, reading bones and ashes, and making salves from plants.

The Spikes are a big unknown, with only the knowledge that they're old.

The Bronze Castle is just recently occupied by the current King a few months back, so called Bronze Castle because it sits on a motherlode of copper, alum, and tin, which the previous ancient occupants had made use of from the decaying bronze equipments when it was first discovered. As to what was there before it was occupied, it was abandoned for what seemed to be millenias at least, from the crumbling wall and trees that grow from it. The newly appointed King herself doesn't know much about the place, since she herself is an outsider to the area.

I'll write up more about this in the OOC, but the tribes sole tying link is their trust in the King. There are no feuds because they've not actually met each other much until the King brought them together. The underlying dislike usually stems from their nature not being compatible with the other tribes. The minotaurs are usually baffled by the goblins heartiness when flinging themselves into the unknown, lamias value their privacy and thus are utterly uncomfortable by the kobolds incessant need to show affection, etc.

Our goal is to complete 'quests' given from the King, with most being from the citizenship themselves that needs solving, and some more dangerous 'quests' reserved for the more able. There might be other conflicts in the meanwhile for more revelation of what the Spikes are as well as other things.

I will expand on everything more once I get enough interest for an OOC too.
