Elizabeth nodded, knowing she had options in terms of runes to get that done, so she started drawing. She knew something like this would start to take it out of her, but if this was the plan, she was going to follow it. The more they could throw at the world snake, the greater the chance that they could get away from this thing unscathed. Meet the opponent with overwhelming force, and don't give them a chance to hurt you. If they could pull that off, then they'd be fine, but it needed to be decisive. Putting an Isa rune in either hand, she exhaled, and threw them off into the water.

They landed on either side of the snake, but didn't do much in the way of slowing it down. Luckily, she still had the last rune, and threw it head on at the beast, sparking a hunk of ice to grow in front of it. Thinking she might have garnered some success, she smiled, but he heard the ice crack as the snake plowed through anyway. Resting her hands on the side of the boat for a moment, she turned her head to Arnoa, saying "I hope you have something good, I don't know how much longer I can keep this up." Her muscles were starting to feel a little soar, but she stretched, and sturdied herself.

"And we'll go to Barnes and Noble or something after this quest to and get you some fairytale books as well." Nadia said with a slight laugh and shook her head slightly. Fairytales were way older than she was, and she was surprised that Klara was older then they were as well to. Nadia turned to look at Runa and thought for a moment, she was still pretty much hungry whenever she needed to eat. "I mean we have newer bodies, curtesy of Odin and what not. They still have basic functions and needs like going to the bathroom, sleep and eating, we are immortal while back in Valhalla but once we leave the hotel we pretty much can still be killed, but it is a permanent death unlike how we usually die in Valhalla." Nadia answered her.

Nadia was about to order some food when she heard a scuffle of sorts going on above the floor, and then heard a door slamming open as a drunken dwarf fell onto their table. The dwarf groaned as he rolled over onto his side looking at the three young women and gave them a bit of a drunken smile. "Are you okay, also do you know of a Sindri here?" Nadia asked, as she shifted a bit uncomfortably at the dwarf as he rolled over and onto the floor before standing up again. "Yes, whos asking?" He asked looking at the three women, before Nadia spoke. "Your brother wants his tools back, and sent us to get them." Nadia said as the drunken dwarf laughed slightly. "Yeah, I kind of gambled them off, they are upstairs though you can try and get them if you want." Sindri said and gestured towards where the gambling den was Nadia sighed and shook her head slightly, who would sell their siblings things off like that?

Arnora groaned a bit as she slowly stumbled back up to her feet she turned to look at Elizabeth for a moment and gave her a bit of an eyeroll. "Just give me a bit." Arnora said looking over at Lara, and gave a slight shrug she wasnt sure how far it actually was they should notice a change at some point. "We'll know when it happens." Arnora said as she used her power again freezing the water again and then smiled seeing that the World Serpent was frozen now. Arnora leaned back slightly letting out a slight sigh and rubbed the back of her neck slightly looking at the two of them.

Then the area started to snow some as Arnora made her way back over towards the wheelhouse looking at Lara and smiled. "Thanks, I can take the wheel if you'd like." Arnora said as she noticed the snow now and the temperature started to drop now as well to. "We should be there soon." Arnora said as she gestured towards land in the distance.

Runa had a bit of a hard time wrapping her mind around how old Klara was. She wondered if Klara's memories were limited by her age - like how it was hard to Runa to remember things that happened when she was really little, did Klara only have faint memories of her time when she was alive on Earth? Or did they have an infinite memory of sorts once they died? Did everything just sort of compress and blur together? She had so many questions and every time someone tried to answer one, she only inevitably had more. They needed to eat and sleep and all - but could they get sick? Did the older ones have to go get vaccinated?

She grimaced, seeing the intoxicated dwarf hit their table. Her face dropped slightly though when their mission to retrieve the tools was even harder - apparently they had been gambled away. Runa didn't have much skill at card games. Maybe Klara knew how to gamble? But if she didn't know about fairy tales, Runa was doubtful. "Are either of you good at gambling?" Runa asked. "Maybe we just buy him some new tools, he may not notice the difference..."

"Okay, that sounds like a lot of fun to me, I'm all for it," Klara said to Nadia with a bit of a smile. She was a bit curious as to what a fairy tale was. Growing up sure they had some stories, folk lore, tales and what not, but fairy tale was a new term for her really. No one had really used it when she had been living and she hadn't really wondered too much about the stories in the more recent years of Earth. Maybe she really should pay more attention to what happened in the recent days. That would likely be a smart one so that she wasn't quite a fish out of water when talking with the more recently deceased people in the hotel.

Her attention turned to the dwarf that had more or less stumbled out and was shown to be the dwarf that they were looking for. Of course, the next words out his mouth regarding the tools that belonged to his brother made her roll her eyes. Nothing ever was that simple for them, everything had to be difficult despite what they would hope for. "I'm not the best at gambling, never really developed much of an interest in it, so I never really tried. The thing with gambling is that parts of it are luck based, depending on the game there is some strategy, but as I said, part of it is luck based."

"Might be for the best, seems I'm not the greatest at steering a ship. Some Viking I'd make, huh?" Lara half laughed at that as she stepped away from the wheel and letting Arnora take the helm again. Thankfully, the serpent was pretty frozen by that point, so they would no longer have trouble with it, it seemed.

As the temperature dropped and the snow began to fall, Lara looked to Elizabeth. "You should get some rest, and thank you for your help with the serpent." She tugged her own coat around herself tighter as she tried to see if she could spot their destination in the distance. Helheim still scared her, as a concept. It was where all the souls that didn't die a warrior's death went after all. What if she saw her parents there, or worse, Levi?

"What is the plan for when we get there?"

"I'm not much of a gambler either, but i'll try." Nadia said as she thought for a moment on a gameplan she looked at Runa for a moment and shook her head slightly. "Nah dwarves tend to really like the tools that they use and probably would know that they arent his tools to." Nadia said as Sindri slowly rolled onto his side and laughed drunkenly. "Yep my bro likes his tools, he'd be pissed if they arent his." Sindri said as Nadia rolled her eyes slightly. "Just get sobered up and go home we will take them back to your brother." Nadia said as she motioned for both Runa and Klara to follow her.

"I'll distract him if you two can swipe the tools." Nadia whispered as she entered the gamblers den of sorts, in the room was a dwarf counting his money, in he corner of the room were Brokkr's tools setup on a table. "So, what can I do for you ladies?" He asked as he leaned back slightly. "Want to play a round?" He asked, the other dwarves in the room shook their heads slightly but stayed in the room to see how the game would unfold. "I'd like to play." Nadia said as she took her sword setting it onto the table, the dwarf nodded as he started to shuffle the cards and started to hand them out.

Arnora slowly moved their boat towards the shore as she looked over towards Lara and Elizabeth, she started to search around for some supplies finding some food and blankets as well to. "We set up camp for now and rest up a bit before we head out." Arnora said as she got off of the boat and made her way onto the shore, seeing the World Serpent still encased in ice in the distance. "The Naglfar should be somewhere near a body of water and it should be heavily guarded by the Jotunn and dragur to." Arnora warned as she started to gather some fallen wood on the ground.

"Also you two should find something warmer to wear Niflheim is really known for the cold to." Arnora said, she didnt really have any issues with the cold and was pretty used to the freezing temperatures as well to. She went and started to count some of the supplies that they had on them as well to.

As they escaped from the snake, and the ice encased it, Elizabeth relaxed for a moment. Travel would give them a moment to breath, which she especially needed after tapping into her rune magic like that. She had to be careful, since the real adventure hadn't even started yet. It was dangerous, she thought, for them to exhaust themselves by this point. If they wanted to free Baldur and stop Hel, they needed to be in their best condition possible, and it seemed like the universe was conspiring to set them up to fail. No matter what though, they had to continue. Failure wasn't an option.

As they approached the shore, she nodded and said, "I'll rest eventually, I'll be fine for now." They needed to set up camp, and be ready for the oncoming assault they were planning, and that meant warmth. That was, thankfully, something she could deal with. As they docked, Elizabeth got right to searching around for wood, collecting bits and pieces, before setting them on the gerund in front of her. Even though she couldn't see, she knew what a good fire was structured like, and as she set the final piece, a get of flame shot rom her arm, and into the wood, igniting it.

Even though she knew the plan, Runa couldn't help but be nervous. If Nadia lost the game, then she'd lose her sword. She really hoped that Nadia had a fair amount of luck, since Klara was right, strategy only went so far in games like these. Still though, they did need to get these tools - they had to complete this fetch quest so they could get the information they needed to save the world. She bit her lip slightly, wishing she had the power to turn herself invisible or something like that. She usually was pretty naturally invisible at school and all, but here in a room of dwarves, she stuck out like a sore thumb.

Runa quietly moved towards the corner of the room with the tools, hoping that she wouldn't attract attention. Her eyes widened slightly as she saw someone notice her, and Runa panicked for a brief second, before she got an idea and decided to hope for the best. She leaned up against the tool table and pushed up slightly, so that way she was sitting on the table, and she leaned forward, looking at the game. The dwarf who noticed her apparently bought that she had just been looking for a seat all along and Runa felt their eyes leave her, and she relaxed slightly.

"Yeah, they tend to be a bit particular about their stuff," Klara added in agreement with Nadia's comment. She reached her hand up and scratched her cat behind the ear as the kitty rubbed up against her head. There wasn't much that they could do aside from either try and win the tools back fairly in a game of pure luck essentially, or by just sneaking around with a bit of a distraction and just trying to steal the tools that way. Well, who knows how things are going to go for them at this point. Gotta love the weird side quests like this right?

Her eyes glanced slightly to see what it was that Runa was doing, and the dwarf that seemed to have noticed her. She was glad that Runa managed to make it seem like she was just looking for a spot to watch the card game. Of course, she immediately turned her eyes to the game on the table, petting her cat as she watched the dwarf deal out the card for the game. If need be she'd see about getting her cat to bite someone or claw someone if they needed a quick diversion for a getaway with the tools. That might be helpful in the long run, who knew how things were going to go with this game though.

"Making camp and getting a bit warmer does sound like a good idea." Lara was a bit thankful they had pulled over to shore, to rest for a bit, even if they were still so close to the water. She did work a bit to push that out of her mind again, as she needed to focus on what they were doing at the moment. She gripped the bag of belongings she had brought with her and lifted it with ease out of the boat and brought it to the shore.

She pulled out the rations she had stashed right on top and pulled out a few of the better sounding ones and put them to the side. She then found the boots and snow jacket she had packed and went to tug them on. They were probably of a better quality than what she had been use to in her living life, as they were trimmed with real fur, and had been made by the magic of the Hotel. She snuggled into the coat, and let herself warm up a bit more.

"I can heat up some food for the both of you, if you want? I know you both used a lot of energy so you could use some food, right?"

There was another dwarf that entered the room, Runa would notice that his shirt had the words 'Big Boy' on them as well and went over and sat down next to Runa near the set of tools. He looked at her for a moment and smiled towards her as he leaned back slightly and watched the game going on. Nadia leaned back slightly as the dwarf finished dealing with all of the cards, her sword was at the edge of the table and smiled. "Feel free to start then, if I win I get the stuff you won, if I loose then you can keep my sword." Nadia said as the dwarf nodded.

Klara would also notice the dwarf sitting next to Runa now as well, and quickly reaching for the Brokkr's set of tools and started to sneak out of the gambling parlor rather quickly as well. Nadia was mostly focused now at the game now as well to, that she hadnt noticed the dwarf had stolen the tools that they were tasked with searching for.

Arnora went and searched around for her sleeping bag and managed to find it and started to roll it out, and leaned back slightly as the fire started to get warmer now. "A nice hot meal sounds good right about now thanks." Arnora said towards Lara and gave her a bit of a smile as she leaned forward and started to get comfortable by the fire. She looked up at the sky it looked like it was going to be dark fairly soon.

"We will leave first thing in the morning sound good to you guys?" Arnora asked looking at both Elizabeth and Lara, they still had a lot of time left still before the Ship of the Dead could sail out to. So far nothing seemed to come out from the treeline which was good as well, they needed to rest up some if they moved out right now then it would just make things even more dangerous and so far Elizabeth to her seemed to be really eager to just move out quickly back at the hotel.

Runa couldn't help but stare slightly at the dwarf who sat down on the table next to her with BIG BOY written on his shirt. Dwarves weren't really matching her imagery of them from fairytales, although nothing so far had really matched her expectations. She was doing her best to just go with the flow and accept things as they were happening, even if she also wanted to run screaming and demand that the universe find someone else to go and save it. She had never really understood before from books and movies, but some people didn't have a choice - when destiny came calling, they had to answer. "Stop!" Runa called out, her eyes wide as Big Boy quickly took the tools and started to leave the room.

She had no idea what to do. They hadn't planned for someone else to try and steal these tools. Nadia had bet her weapon and now even if she won the game, there was nothing for her. She glanced at Klara, hoping that the elder einherjar would have some idea of what to do in this situation, that she'd already have an action plan. "He's stealing the tools!" Runa added desperately, aware of the deep irony.

Klara knew about the dwarf that went over next to Runa. However there were better ways to go about dealing with the problem then yelling out loud about it. She had been about to go after the dwarf swiftly, without yelling about it, when Runa decided that now was the time to be the loudest that she had ever been and shout about the dwarf trying to walk away with the tools. "I know that, but yelling about it is not going to make anything better," she responded to Runa, before she went following after the dwarf, pulling her sword out. This was definitely a lot more trouble then it was worth, but eh, at least it was some action and something to do.

"Where do you think you are going?" she asked, pointing her sword directly at the dwarf, her cat on her shoulder was hissing, and Klara reached up and handed the cat a knife so she was now armored as well as armed. The cat was flicking her head around, clearly trying to look vicious with the knife. "Those aren't yours, and the game has only just begun? Why the quick get away? Or are you just not wanting to play fair at all? Also if you are going to steal from others, the key is to not get caught about it, just saying," she said, more then prepared to start fighting at a moments notice if she has to.

As the dire was lit, Elizabeth sat down by it. She was never worried about being cold much, between her experience in her youth, her pyromancy, and her magic, freezing to death, or even to discomfort, was just something she never really had to worry about. Still, she enjoyed being warmed by the fires of a camp. She felt more like she belonged here than in the hotel. A safe place where death was no risk was just not something that suited her well. She was a warrior in the end, a hunter, and so being out amongst the wilds, regardless of conditions, ultimately left her comfortable.

Elizabeth liked cooking, but Lara had a point; she was feeling exhausted, and she would happily take a hot cooked meal for her. "Thank you, I'll cook the next one." She said, turned her head in the direction of Lara. Even though she was blind, she could still cook well enough. In some ways, she liked to think it made her better. She didn't go by sight, she only had her senses, taste and feel. Anything she served had to be tasted before it made it to a plate, and that meant that, most of the time, it was pretty damn good when it got in somebody's mouth.

"A warm meal for three coming up then. As for leaving in the morning, that sounds fair. We do not want to delay too long." Lara offered them both a small smile as she pulled some of the MRE's out of her bag. Thankfully these were nice ones from the Hotel, so they would be delicious. Once the fire was crackling away well, she put a pot of water on the fire and then waited for the water to heat up.

"I also have cookies... I made a fresh batch the other day and brought some with us. I figure we can have some for dessert. They are Krakelingen, so they look like pretzels, but they are very sweet." Lara gently pulled a small tin out of her bag and set it by the fire, and opened to let the scent of the krakelingen spill out a bit.

Nadia was focused on the game, until she heard Runa and looked up seeing that the bag of tools were suddenly gone, she quickly got up looking at the dwarves who were there. "Sorry, i'll see you guys around." Nadia said as she quickly got up and ran after both Runa and Klara out of the bar, the dwarf stopped turning around to face the three of them and smirked. "You want these?" He asked dangling and waving the bag of tools in front of their faces. The dwarf then waved his hand knocking Klara's sword out of her hands and clattered to the ground.

Nadia ran forward drawing out her own sword, and swung missing the dwarf as he tossed the bag of tools about twenty feet in the air using magic and suspended the tools in the air just out of everyone's reach. The the dwarf suddenly changed a couple feet taller than the three girls themselves. "Ah, much better now." He said looking down at the girls and leaned himself up against the wall and smirked a bit. "I'll let you three have them if you can reach them I am Utgard-Loki by the way." The Jotunn said.

Nadia glared at him as she backed up slightly and stared at the tools in the air, she didnt know who Utgard-Loki was at all she had no idea how to even get to it, was higher than she was and looked at both Klara and Runa wondering if they had an idea on how to reach them at all. "So, any ideas?" Nadia asked the two of them.

"That sounds really good to me." Arnora said as she watched Lara pulling out a tin of cookies and reached over to grab one taking a bite out of it, she closed her eyes as she started to enjoy the cookie. "This is really good thank you Lara." Arnora said as she leaned back slightly looking at the fire for a moment, it reminded her of when she was alive it felt like another lifetime ago. She would usually sit in front of the fire that her village had every night.

Arnora was about to speak again when she heard some groaning in the distance, she quickly got up to her feet seeing a group of ten Draugr starting to wonder into their camp. "And when I thought we wouldnt end up bumping into any of them until tomorrow morning." She said as she closed her eyes and sighed slightly to herself as Arnora got up and threw her axe at the closest one. The axe embedded itself into its chest. The Draugr turned into ice, as Arnora called back her axe as it flew back into her hand, the frozen Draugr's body shattered to the ground rather quickly.

Klara's words cut Runa deeply. Her face turned red not from anger, but from embarrassment. She was right, of course - it had been very stupid of her to just shout out about the crime in progress. She should have known to do something else. She bowed her head slightly, determined to bite her tongue and keep quiet before she made a fool of herself any further. These people weren't her friends anyways. They were only just tolerating having her along so that way they could save the universe. Once they didn't need her anymore, then they'd never talk to her again or think about her again - and why would they? They had loads of cool people hanging around, they didn't need a depressing little idiot desperately tagging along for attention.

She left the bar after Klara, hanging back slightly though so she wouldn't get in the way. She didn't want to mess this up again. She didn't even understand why they had to get help from this one specific dwarf to find their way, but she kept her mouth shut - her ideas were probably stupid anyways and she didn't want to give Klara and Nadia another reason to hate her. She bit down hard on her lip and discretely moved her right hand to her left wrist, digging in her fingernails as hard as she could.

Runa just shook her head when Nadia asked if she had any ideas. She didn't know who Utgard-Loki was, so how was she possibly qualified to make a suggestion?

"Well aren't you a bit rude," Klara grumbled in response to the dwarf who soon revealed themselves to be a Jotunn. That was just great, they had to try and get the tools down, and hope that the guy wouldn't try and mess with their attempts. "Alright Betty... Hop down now," she said as she went and picked her sword up off of the ground and allowing the cat to jump off of her shoulders. The fluffy furball went over immediately to Runa and started rubbing up against her purring rather loudly. "Think you made a friend there Runa," she commented happily.

Her attention then turned towards the tools up in the air, trying to come up with a solution on how best to reach them, when she came up with a potential solution. "I could throw someone up there," she commented, glancing towards Nadia, figuring that Runa wouldn't want to be thrown into the air. She grabbed onto Nadia, before throwing her upwards. The hard part was trying to gauge how high she needed to throw and how much force she needed to use. Since not enough wouldn't reach it, too much and Nadia would go flying past the tools. Unfortunately, it seemed to be the former as Nadia when she threw her didn't seem to reach the tools at all. "Guess I need to use a bit more strength to throw with... Nadia? You okay? Want to try again or no?" She might as well as her if she wanted to try again.

Elizabeth actually thought, for a few moments, that she might be able to get some rest before she had to face their next problem, or at the very least get a hot meal in her. It seemed, however, that the universe had different plans for her. Cracking her knuckles, she felt the fire behind her, warming her, flaming bright and hot. She raised her hands, and the fire followed with her. She couldn't see the monsters, but that didn't much matter. She knew roughly where they were, and would burn them all the same. Pushing her hands forward, she had meant for flame to burst forward, but she stumbled, her flames not coming forth.

Huffing, she stood straight, and angrily snapped her arm forward, causing a tongue of flame to lash out, and light the head of one of the monsters on fire, however slightly. Pulling her hands towards her, she felt the fire behind her once more, and pulled a stream of it out, bending it into a ring, and encircling herself and the others with it. Putting some flame between them and the creatures should keep them safe, or at least give them a significant enough tactical advantage to keep this from getting too messy. Holding the ring there, she was ready to change strategy should the situation demand it.

Nadia ended up falling onto her shoulder rather hard, letting out a slight groan as she slowly got back up onto her feet slowly she turned to look at Klara for a moment. Which reminded her a little bit of that one scene from Thor Ragnarok, she rubbed her shoulder slightly getting thrown so suddenly without warning wasnt something that she wanted to do. "A little warning that you were going to be picking me up and throwing me would have been nice you know.." Nadia said as she looked at the tools still dangling in the air, she didnt mind getting picked up and thrown but a bit of a warning or permission before would have been really nice.

Utgard-Loki started to laugh seeing that little show he did find it a bit amusing to watch Klara throwing her friend up into the air turning to look at Klara for a moment reminding her a bit like Thor. "Might I suggest getting a bit more creative." Utgard-Loki said with a bit of another laugh, Nadia started to remember her half-brother encountered him more than once. Nadia looked at Klara and remembered the gift that her cat was given just before they left for the quest. "Hey Klara, maybe you should use Betty or something, maybe that armor has something special to it?" Nadia said, the armor must have had some special properties to it.

Arnora watched as Elizabeth made a circle of fire around them, she wasnt sure how that was actually going to help them as the undead continued to advance on them. Arnora threw her axe again managing to take out another of the Dragur and then called her axe back into her hand. She turned to look at Elizabeth catching one of the zombie's hair on fire and shook her head slightly that didnt seem to be effective at all really in her opinion really.

Arnora went over as one of the dragur started to walk through the fire it started to catch on fire but still kept walking forward Arnora went forward and managed to swing her axe but only managed to remove one of it's arms. One of the dragur had an arrow and launched an arrow hitting Lara in the shoulder, and then fired off another arrow hitting Elizabeth in the leg.
