If there’s anyone listening, I just want you to know... I know how you feel. I know you’re scared, and upset. I know things have gotten crazy out there, and you don’t know what’s gonna happen next. That’s understandable. We’re well past the singularity now. And it’s only gonna get crazier from here.
Some of you are worried your neighbors are gonna wake up tomorrow with powers they can’t control. Some of you are worried about yourselves waking up with powers you can’t control. You’re scared of all the bad guys who’ve been cropping up. The monsters.
We get it. It makes sense. And it’s all right to be scared. No one’s judging you.
But there is good news. Because wherever the bad guys are, we’ll be there, too. You’re not alone. You’re not defenseless. We’re here. We exist. And we’re on your side.
We’re the good guys.
The heroes.
Your friendly neighborhood... Spider-Men.
It’s September 1st, 20XX. The location is Earth-1919. Specifically, the New York City of Earth-1919. It’s a world that should look familiar to you. One very much like your own, where legends and superheroes exist only in movies and comic books.
But not for long.
A “gas attack” at Empire State University has turned into an epidemic. Hundreds, even thousands, are falling sick. Greenwich Village has been quarantined. Most of those infected will die.
You will not.
You have been chosen. By some freak chance, or destiny, you have survived. But not unchanged.
And you’re not the only one.
The world is about to get much bigger. Much stranger. Much more dangerous. And you’re going to be at the center of it all.
Are you a hero? A villain? A little of both? Up to you.
Only you can decide what kind of Spider-Man you’ll be.
Welcome to the Spider-Verse. It’s gonna be a wild ride.
Welcome, one and all, to Tales from the Spider-Verse!
Following a chemical attack on Empire State University- dubbed the "Recluse Incident," after the label on a strange device recovered at the scene- you and a choice few others will wake up exhibiting strange symptoms and abilities. Specifically, those of a Spider-Man. How will you react to your new powers? Where will you go, and what will you do? It's all up to you, but be careful; you're not the only one who was affected by the Incident. And some of them might not be so noble as you are...
But with all that out of the way, welcome, have fun, and enjoy your stay here in the Spider-Verse!
All right, let’s take it from the top, one more time…
What’s your name? (Obvious.)
How old are you? (Max age 20; somewhere between high school and college age is preferable.)
What do you look like? (Description is preferable, picture is acceptable. Both is even better. Costume ideas optional; you can wait for IC for that part.)
What did you do before the Recluse incident? (Lay your backstories on me, guys. Good, bad, Uncle Ben moments, etc.)
What happened after the incident? (Power time! Take 100 points. Divvy them up between the following: Super Strength, Agility, Durability, Regeneration, Spider-Sense, and an optional Mutation if you so wish. Then describe your powers in-character. Keep in mind, you’re still superhuman by normal standards. This is just how you set yourself apart from other Spiders.)
Do you believe in aliens? (Also self-explanatory)
What are your goals for the future? (These can be your goals as a newly-minted superhero, or mundane goals like going to college and paying the bills. Hey, Spider-Manning doesn’t pay the bills; everyone’s gotta have an ambition, right?)
You lived in New York for a while now, right? What do you think of the city?
How much technology do you use on a daily basis?
What do you like? (Hobbies, talents, interests, things you like and are good at.)
What do you dislike? (Fears, food you hate, things you consider not-good or bad.)
Do you think true evil exists? (Heavy question, eh? Just answer honestly. No pressure.)
What’s your favorite color? (Self-explanatory; also a place to put your text color if you have one.)
Favorite song? (What song defines your character?)
Anything else to add? (Miscellaneous. Anything that wasn’t covered upstairs, or anything you think is worth mentioning.)
What are your thoughts on these people? (Relations. List each character by name, in their respective color, and your character’s current thoughts on them. Most characters should be aware of each other at least a little. To what extent is up to you.)

Life was much simpler when I was younger. It wasn’t a fairytale, just average at best but that had been enough for me. It was when my mother got sick that everything started to change for the worse. Hospital visit after hospital visit. My mom not able to work anymore and my father barely making it by. He started disappearing more, coming home either drunk as hell or in a fowl mood late into the evening but pretending everything was fine while in my mother’s presence. It was like I was forgotten, all on my own and trying to navigate the world. I found more often than not that I was locked out of my own home so I found myself wandering a park or going to the nearby ice skating rink to watch, trying to find something to keep me busy till I could go home. This went on for years until suddenly, everything changed....my father seemed happier, things started to seem normal again, I wasn’t alone anymore and I hoped that meant that mom was getting better. I was able to do more after school activities, not understanding at the time we shouldn’t be able to afford to do them. My mom’s hospital bills were being paid on time and while my father still stayed out a bit late, he seemed to be doing better. Everything would be as it was and the nightmare from before would be over. It didn’t end up being that way though.
One night, I found myself dragged from bed in the middle of the night by a stranger. I tried to fight, squirm to get away, cry out, call for help but it was all for nothing. Instead, I was slapped harshly with my attacker telling me to shut up as I was continuously pulled like a rag doll to the living room. The first view being my father strapped to a chair, blood everywhere, beaten and scared when his eyes met mine. I found no words now, fear and panic twisting in my gut as I was threatened with a cold knife pressed to my throat. I could barely hear, the blood rushing to fast in my ear as the attackers spoke to my father. He was to start paying back the money he had borrowed, no more delays or trying to sneak on by. They left, leaving me to deal with the mess my father was. He forced me not to call the cops, saying all of our lives depended on keeping this all a secret. I found myself roped into and forced to steal, my father saying it was our only way. He explained they would be like Robin Hood, stealing for a good reason. It never felt right. I felt horrible. If I tried to stop though, I was met with violence and that wasn’t any better. It wasn’t even a month later that my mom passed away after her long struggle and I felt it was a punishment for what we were doing. It didn’t matter though, we weren’t allowed to stop.
It wasn’t until my high school years that we finally had enough stolen items sold off to finish the debt. I hoped we could wash our hands of it and move forward. My father didn’t seem to think so. He fell back into old ways, drinking and stealing. He was sloppy and started to draw attention. The second he tried to rope me into that lifestyle again, I suddenly found myself couch hopping. I would stay with friends or crash with band mates so that I didn’t have to see him. Didn’t have to be a part of his screw ups while I tried to make a life for myself. I needed to get a scholarship if I wanted to do anything college wise and even if I didn’t make it then a criminal record would not be a good start. They had been really lucky so far. I was skilled at thievery and planning but it wasn’t the life I wanted for myself. It was no surprise to me when I found out my father had been arrested. Cops bothering me to see if I had any information and to see if I had been a part of it in any way. I was able to weasel out of it but it had been an annoying process. They kept a close eye on me after that.
After high school, I pretty much signed up for anything and everything job wise. I needed a place of my own or at least enough to help a room mate since couches would not be an option any longer. I would have started on a job sooner but with my...other activities, it had been impossible. I turned out getting work as an office assistant which isn’t really my style and I hate it but it pays very well. Honestly, if I could be a hero all the time then I would. I feel like I have no freedom and there is something freeing about watching over others and making sure they are safe.
Webs - She can produce organic webs from her wrists
Hallucinogenic Poison Secretion - She produces a poison that causes hallucinations. This comes in a form of a powder like substance that can be gathered or transferred onto another person. It can also be added to her own breath and spit, breath being the most effective for spreading.
Paralyzing Bite - She has fangs that produce a paralyzing agent that takes effect when introduced or injected into the blood stream.
Healing - She can heal very minor cuts, scraps, and also the bite marks she creates. You get stabbed, shot, or are heavily bleeding....don’t expect her to be able to do anything about it with this power.
Do you believe in aliens?
The world is full of mystery and infinite possibilities so I believe there is a chance that aliens exists. I am not holding my breath on ever meeting one but I do believe it is possible so I won’t dismiss it.
What are your goals for the future?
I don’t know if I have any real goals. I mean, I eventually want to go to college so I can get somewhere but at the same time...I don’t really want to get rid of my unrealistic dreams. Sure, it is silly but I would love for my band to make it to the big times or to be an Olympic ice skater since I have the talent but those seem too far from my reach. It would be best to go to college and work somewhere mundane. I mean, you can only be a hero now and then. Real life doesn’t stop so I’m not gonna put all my hopes into that but it is nice to help people.
You lived in New York for a while now, right? What do you think of the city?
It’s never boring, that is for sure. It is a little crowded and wild but I think that is a part of its charm. It gives you unexpected gifts and also complete frustration. You can find everything you need here.
How much technology do you use on a daily basis?
Oh boy....do I have to answer this? I feel embarrassed to say I am glued to my phone a lot. I am forever texting or looking up some sort of information. I love music and it is often that my headphones are in to enjoy. I do videos, writing and more in my free time which require technology. I mean, I am not sure I could live without movies or video games either. I also have to use it for work so that kind of makes it impossible to cut down the amount of use.
What do you like?
- Ice Skating - Basketball - Spicy Foods - Video Games - Reading - Mysteries - Writing - Art - Rain - Music - Cooking
Yes, some people do bad things for what they believe is a good reason but some people, the truly evil people of the world...just want to watch the world burn.
What’s your favorite color?
Red
Favorite song?
Anything else to add?
- Plays guitar and sings - Visits her mother’s grave every year on the anniversary of her death - Has a small black cat - Can easily pick locks, pickpocket, etc. - Knows how to draw but is not confident in her skills
What are your thoughts on these people?
Jiji - cat/furbaby
Jiji has saved my life from utter loneliness since the day we met. I had been out on the small apartment balcony reading when I fell asleep, only to awaken with a tiny ball of fur curled up on my lap. He looked more than a little worse for the wear with his eyes gunked up, flea infested, and each rib clearly visible. He was so tiny that I thought he would break if I touched him. I couldn’t bare myself to move so instead I looked up what it would take to look after the little guy or what I could do to help. I had planned to get him into shape and find him a good home but the moment he opened his eyes, looking at me with that soft mew and purring happily just to be near me....that is when I knew he had my heart. He has been my baby boy since then and I would do anything to make his life happy and easy. He is always there when I need him and I will never abandon him in his time of need.
TDB
Hey @EnterTheHero, here is my character submission! Let me know if you want anything changed.
All right, let’s take it from the top, one more time…
What’s your name? Scott Yi, ESU wrestling team captain. Strand, your friendly neighbor-hood super-hero. And you are?
How old are you? 20, what's this for again?
What do you look like? I'm right here, but okay. Black hair, kind of olive-ish skin tone, brown eyes; kinda almond-ish shaped, high cheek bones, square jaw, kinda muscular...
What did you do before the Recluse incident? Well, that's a bit of a loaded question. I kind of went to a no-name school. Like, it literally had no name. PS 191, that was all it was ever called. Guess that's not important though, is it? Well, what can I say? My parents did their best. My dad works at a department store as a part-owner, and my mom was a CNA. They moved from Korea and who-knows-where-else before settling in this little apartment here in New York. I uh, wasn't always happy with being... well, I didn't always feel like me growing up, but that's in the past now. But because of some steep medical expenses in the past, despite doing a decent bit of studying, it looked like college was out of the question. Good thing I ended up getting the Osborne Physical Promise Academic Grant. Even got to meet old man Norman and his son Harry
What happened after the incident? Super Strength: 0 Agility: 0 Durability: 0 Regeneration: 0 Spider-Sense: 100 Mutation: 0 So, yeah... Imagine knowing when things are going to happen before they happen... usually when it involves getting hurt. Now imagine waking up one day to find you rolled in your sleep- up a wall. Now imagine like, feeling these... threads, or something, that pull to other people. Yeah, it's weird. Seriously, who are you?
Do you believe in aliens? I read about this once: Fermi Paradox. But basically, the galaxy's so big that even our oldest transmissions are no where near another star, so even if there were aliens, and even if they were intelligent, they'd have no way of knowing we exist. That's a little sad.
What are your goals for the future? Well, scholarships don't qualify for themselves, so busting my back as usual. Aiming for physical therapy, or emotional counseling. I figure I can take one as a minor, and not kill myself too hard.
You lived in New York for a while now, right? What do you think of the city? It's great. I mean, it's loud, it's crazy, but where else can a street artist, an Italian cook, and a little Chinese grandmother all share the same building? It's sort of like, the embodiment of America, in a way. Is that weird?
How much technology do you use on a daily basis? I mean, when I was younger, I was a total audio-rat. I had headphones on like, ninety percent of the time. It drove my mom nuts. My dad would bring offages from the store that were slightly broken, and I would try to fix them, but I had more a passion than a talent for it. Recently, it's more for homework and stuff; so I'm not sure if it's a lot less, or just as much.
What do you like? Full of loaded questions today, huh. Okay, okay, I'm cooperating. Music, if that wasn't obvious from before. Also, big weakness for chilli-fries. They're absolute trash but I love them. But nothing beats a home-cooked meal; the fact that my mom makes a lot of Korean food has a lot to do with it. Uh, hanging with friends... but I do a lot of, let's say, nocturnal extracurricular activities.
What do you dislike? This is gonna sound weird, but I don't drink milk much. I sort of avoid dairy altogether. Not a big fan of being like, alone alone, ya'know? Also, all this pressure about being in a relationship and having sex and stuff- I don't gel with it. Just let me chill guys, seriously.
Do you think true evil exists? Wow, deep stuff today. I can't say I've given that serious thought. I think it's mostly people who made bad choices.
What’s your favorite color? Probably this one, [98fb98], although this is cool too, and this.
Favorite song? That is... a difficult choice. Maybe this one? Or this one?
Anything else to add? No, not really. What's this for again?
What are your thoughts on these people? Marcus Tanner Literally, this guy- I've known him since probably before we could both walk. Sometimes I think he knows me better than I know myself. Which, in all likelihood, is possible. I don't know if I'd have gotten through those 'medical expenses' without him. There were times when like, no one was smiling, and then, there he was.
Susan Yi That's my mom. She expects a lot out of me, but is probably more forgiving of me than I am of myself. Also, she makes some of the best food in the world, hands down. And she has a weird habit of being way too chill with having guests over, especially if they have dinner. With what's been going on, I feel like that's a good thing.
Dae-won "Devon" Yi My dad is a hard worker to a fault. He expects me to do well, just as much as my mom does. But he's never not done what he had to for us, and he'd always be sure to make it home every night, even when it would cost him a promotion or something. Not that I ever think it did. You know what I mean. He took a bit to adjust to the... post medical scenario, but he was always on my side. And we would always talk about the new shipments of electronics coming into the store, so talking to him's not, like, hard? Still... I can't really tell him about the whole Recluse thing. He'd have an aneurysm.
All right, let’s take it from the top, one more time…
What’s your name? Ceya Montoya The one and only Tarantula Knight
How old are you? Seventeen.
What do you look like? Oh I'm a little scamp. Hair's kinda curly, on the longer side, black, ends between my shoulder blades. It tends to be a bit of a mess. Especially recently. Average height I guess? Shorter than others, but too many people are freakishly tall. I'm not microscopic. I'm kinda thin, stay pretty tan, my legs are sorta bigger though. Don't talk about it. Kinda have a button nose, high cheekbones, round cheeks, small ears, thick-ish eyebrows... What I wear varies. Depends on how I feel. Sometimes it's baggy, sometimes it's tighter, whatever color I want. Sometimes I want to stand out, others I want to blur into the background.
What did you do before the Recluse incident? I mean, not too much? Dropped out of highschool, usually dance when I get the chance. Hang out with Kimmy and Ray Ray- glad he stopped hanging out with those guys. Hated them, they're a bunch of bigoted twits. But yeah, I dance when I can, sometimes ballet, sometimes freestyle. Live with my dad. He does his best. Help him sometimes with deliveries. He has a laundry business. Think I want to quit doing that after what happened. And food trucks. Love food trucks.
What happened after the incident? Super Strength: 20 Agility: 10 Durability: 40 Regeneration: 0 Spider-Sense: 10 Mutation: 20 So... nothing hurts anymore. Or, not a lot. My skin won't break, not easy, but I can still feel stuff. Stuff's way lighter. Like, it's insane. And I feel faster too, and things are weirdly clearer, but not as much, like sometimes I can almost hear things before they happen, it feels like. Sounds like? Anyway, I have these weird like... other hairs on my head. They're stiff and weird, and fall out if I want them to, or if there's enough pressure on them, the stick into stuff, ruins towels sometimes. I feel weird about people finding them. They don't hurt me, but I feel like they'd mess with other people. Feels like there's something else but it's never really come up? Almost like there's something between my muscle and my skin. Oh, and sometimes my hands are sticky. That’s not an innuendo. Hard to let go of things sometimes. Got real good at throwing a punch since then.
Do you believe in aliens? I mean, no? That'd be dumb. We'd notice space aliens flying around.
What are your goals for the future? Honestly? No idea. I'm just going day-to-day. Especially after things got weird.
You lived in New York for a while now, right? What do you think of the city? I mean, yeah, moved into the building when I was around twelve, born in Manhattan. Parents are from Illinois, sounds like it's fricking boring, so better here than there, I guess. How much technology do you use on a daily basis? I mean, does listening to music count?
What do you like? Dancing, music, food trucks- have I mentioned food trucks?- and just kinda doing my thing. Knocking heads is actually kinda fun, which, like, don’t tell people that, I get it, but it doesn’t leave this room, get it?
What do you dislike? People who don't mind their business, the feeling you get when your hands go pruney and you have to touch wet fabric, those scenes where two guys are supposed to be good at fighting, but they just keep punching each other back and forth and no one goes down for like… five minutes. Expletive deleted annoying. And don’t get me started about people who say to “embrace my culture”. Like, I was born in Manhattan, my parents are from Illinois. Like I don’t have to… dance salsa or speak with a thick accent just because of my face. It’s dumb. Don’t assume I learned spanish. I don’t expect you to speak fluent Flemish.
Do you think true evil exists? What kind of question is that? What else would you call sick expletive deleted politicians and them?
What’s your favorite color? I really like that color that's like, in those multicolored rocks that are every color at once, right between the bluey-greeny shiny bit and the pink reflections? That bit. Second is the color between purple and orange in sunsets.
What are your thoughts on these people? Kim Agbayami Kimmy? I’d say she’s an absolute doll, but she’s sharp as a tack and has a razor wit. I’d hate to be on her bad side. She’s been like, ‘group mom’ since I met her. Probably before that, with how she treats Ray. Huge props. Also, great beats to dance to. Love it. Raymond Davis What can I say about Ray that hasn’t been said? He has a lot going on, but we’ve never really talked about it. He’s that kind of person that gives you a headache, but you can’t help but love him. Good kid, but he made some dumb choices. Seems like he’s turning it around though. Respect him for that. Should probably tell him one day. Also, I think maybe he tries too hard? Like lots of… image stuff and “I’m a tough guy look at me”. Not directed at me, but others sometimes?
How old are you? "I'm 16 years old and i'm grandmother"
What do you look like?
What did you do before the Recluse incident? "After I was born, my ass of a father decide to left me and mother alone and leave my mother devastated and heartbroken but like the badass she is, she didn't give up raising me and I become a badass like her. By the time I was seven years old, we moved to New York city after my mom got a promotion from her job. I was against at first but my mom say this will be good for us and with this promotion, we will get more money then back home, plus it will help me get new friends or something."
What happened after the incident? Super Strength: 1 Agility: 19 Durability: 1 Regeneration: 19 Spider-Sense: 25 Mutation: 35
"I mean, I just skip school at day to play music on the street and then the next thing I knew, I got knock out of that gas attack or something and I starting glowing and manipulate neon."
Do you believe in aliens? "I mean no, not really but my cousin does."
What are your goals for the future? "I just want to get out of this city and just travel around world, you know? Just play my music to everyone and see everything."
You lived in New York for a while now, right? What do you think of the city? "Since me and my mom move here when I was seven years old, it's all right I guess..."
How much technology do you use on a daily basis? "I use my phone to write my lyrics and listing to music, I also use my laptop to record my music."
]What do you like? + Books + Music of any kind + Her melodica + Her mother + Cute girls "HEY, TAKE THAT OUT!" D:<
What do you dislike? - Feeling abandon - Makeup - Loud noises - Her father - Assholes
Do you think true evil exists? "Yes and there layers of it. assholes are on the bottom and on the top are crazy people who just love to being evil"
What’s your favorite color? "Blue, obviously"
Favorite song?
Anything else to add? "Beside playing my melodica, I can also play stylophone, otamatone and concertina."
What are your thoughts on these people? Reyna Agbayani - Parent "My mom have always been there for me while my father didn't, she work so hard to take care of me and always supportive of me, that I'm lucky that I have a mother like her"
Suzy Maxwell - friend/crush "When I moved to New York, Suzy was the only that welcome me with open arms while the other students didn't. We everything together, play video games, making music, getting trouble and just relax."
Raymond Davis - friend "Ray-Ray is my neighbor and my first ever friend since I move here. What more do I need to say, Ray-Ray is the most coolest and most awesome guy I ever known."
Ceya Montoya - friend Ceya is also my friend like Ray, she just so cool! I met her after I met Ray and the three of us became like the three caballeros after that, we are birds of a feather!
What’s your name? Raymond Davis. The fam call me Ray-Ray, the streets call me X-Ray.
How old are you? 19.
What do you look like? The hell kind of question is that? I look like me.
5’9” Athletically Slim Build Black Hair Hazel-Brown Eyes
What did you do before the Recluse incident? I was born and grew up in Harlem. Got caught between my mom and dad. It didn’t end well and I was living with her. Joined a gang named the Skywalkers, did some…outlawish things. Did some graffiti art. In some of the most ridiculous places imaginable. Lost my big baby brother…
Are you trying to make a documentary or something?
What happened after the incident? I ended up ditching the Skywalkers, they wanna kill me now. They’ll get over it...eventually. Actually started paying attention in school and did more art projects. Oh yeah, and...I went to the doctor’s office for my check-up and my blood kept melting through equipment. That’s just the most recent of the weirdness though...
Do you believe in aliens? You mean the LGMs that you and Buzz Lightyear are hiding at Area 51? Y’all ain’t slick.
What are your goals for the future? Ma tells me I could qualify for some fancy art school if I put in the effort. Question is, is that really what I want to do?
You lived in New York for a while now, right? What do you think of the city? It’s its own world, like, there’s the earth, and then there’s NYC. The good, the bad, the ugly, the sexy, what’s now, and what’s up next. Maybe I’m just a little biased.
How much technology do you use on a daily basis? Depends on the day. I’m typically on my phone a lot. Whether listening to music, watching videos, gaming...So, a lot.
What do you like? I’m kinda into art, be it urban or more traditional. Music, be it more rhythmic or more substantial, whether I could listen to or make it. Guess that leads into Dancing. Not the best at it, but I've got some moves. History, like family history or stuff that happened hundreds of years ago. I do like stories. Tall Tales, Folk Tales, Novels, Comics, all that good stuff. Free-Running’s become a hobby of mine after watching action movies as a little kid. Girls. Shouldn’t have to elaborate on that one.
What do you dislike? Snobby Folks. Especially rich ones. Lying for stupid reasons. Know-it-alls. Mumble Rap. Walnuts. Injustice & Prejudice. Cooking. I love food, but suck at cooking it though. Other stuff I don’t feel like talking about...
Do you think true evil exists? Every villain is the hero of their own story. There’s always a point A that got them to point B. People aren’t born evil, so, nah.
What’s your favorite color? I like indigo, but this baby blue color works out pretty good too.
Favorite song?
Anything else to add? You can probably smell what The Rock is cooking, nosy as y’all is... [Wears a beaded necklace that his older brother made for him when he was in kindergarten. Is never seen without it.]
[The organic web-shooting glands on each hand are laced with traces of his acidic blood. This makes them burn to the touch and because of their nature the web disolves rather quickly. Use of the organic webbing makes his heart run doubletime to accomodate for the amount of blood lost. So, it isn't in his best interests to use them continually in drastic situations.]
What are your thoughts on these people? Marcus Tanner: I remember homeboy from back with the Skywalkers. Saw dude around the city. Dude could move, almost as good as me, but a rat in the squad and did some digging; found out Marc's pops was five-0. Obvious dealbreaker, but I saw the kid locked up a couple times by his own pops. He alright, I can at least say that much.
Scott Yi: Don’t know much about him, but he seems like a chill dude.
Alexander Lee: Tony Jaa fanboy? He’s cool I guess. Saw him around in high school, but never really paid him any mind. I believe it's his fam that got a chinese food joint. That orange chicken and broccoli is A1.
Kim Agbayani: Kimi been a G, ever since she first moved here. There was just this vibe that I could really relate to. Don't let her age fool you, she no joke. I raised her, she raised me; when the chips are down, there's no one else I'd rather have in my corner.
We've done this before. And I was very excited about getting my new character out. Don't feel intimidated though. We'd be glad to welcome a new person and character to the fold. Or at least, I would, but I can't see anyone being against that here.
@King Kindred We attempted this RP about a year ago, but I was just not in the right headspace to do it. Being in much healthier place now, I’m giving it another shot.
All right, let’s take it from the top, one more time…
What’s your name? Clara Cabello.
How old are you? 19 years!
What do you look like? Eh, somethin' like this.
( art work blatantly stolen from Anya Corazon, no relation)
My hair was actually brown before the incident. I like to think I'm pretty ripped- gotta nice figure, right? Well, I need to stay in shape for my work. I'm like, average height. 5'7 or somethin, I can't remember.
What did you do before the Recluse incident? I ran away from home before my mother killed herself with her bad habits, and dragged me down with her. That was, uh, a while ago. She was a piece of human garbage, you know? Never met my dad but I wouldn't be surprised if I had run into him at some point without knowing it, haha.
So, what, I had to make do. Never did have a job or an education growin' up, I did what I had to do. No way was I going into the system. You'd be surprised how much work is out there for a quick little girl like me. I always was a good thief. I did that for a few years. Got beat up a few times- so what? I beat up a few people myself. Ran into some twerp. Little kid named Alejandra- all alone like me. Stupid little shitbag ain't nearly as good as it I am. Dunno why I stuck out my neck for her- but me and her run together now, I guess. That was a couple years ago.
...She's really the only family I got, I think. I ran pretty much by myself for a long time. I was, uh, a nobody.
Alejandra's smart. Too smart. Too smart to be out here all by herself like me- but whatever. Neither of us are changin'. Rather die than end up in the fuckin' system- both of us can tell you that. She's like 18 now or somethin'. She watches my back and I watch hers. She usually set up the plans, and I executed them. Me an' her made bank compared to when we were by ourselves. Lots of money in grand theft auto- I don't have a liscence but I'm a great driver. Alejandra taught me how to break in and hotwire 'em, though. She even got her hands on one of them credit card swiper thingies- I dunno how they work. Man you don't even know- we made a great team. Still do. By the way, I call her AJ. Her last name is Jonas, and the nickname AJ is like- a thing- so why not?
What happened after the incident?
Super Strength: 5
Agility: 50
Durability: 0
Regeneration: 0
Spider-Sense: 40
Mutation: 5 Palette Swap
So, yeah. When I think real hard, I can change the color of my skin and hair. It's pretty cool. Pretty much no one can identify me, now. I can get really specific with it, too, like giving myself tattoos.
When I'm not doing it on purpose, it can happen by itself. Mainly to my hair. AJ guesses that it has to do with my emotional state. So I dunno why my normal hair color is red?
---
I thought I was done for. I'd never felt so shitty- I was looking for an easy mark at ESU when boom, terror attack.
We weren't the only ones, either. All sorts of freaks like me were walkin' around town- and some of 'em had some nasty shit. Webs, though. AJ has been workin' on a way to make me have some web, too, but fake ones. Which is good, because that stuff comin' outta me sounds gross as fuck. God damn, she is so smart. I dunno what I'd dp without her. New York has no idea what's about to hit it.
One small problem. After the attack, AJ had to take me to the hospital. Not just like, a regular hospital. A black market hospital. Run by crooks. Normally, I got no problem with it. In this case? Yeah, not so much. The doctor took a sample of my blood, and he noticed the mutation. He said treating me was risky and dangerous and creepy because my body kept changin' color. Either way he used it a a fuckin' excuse to way way mark up the prices. We couldn't afford it. So now he's got us in his pocket and tryin' to screw over the both of us. Most of our cash is goin' to him. AJ's tryin' to invent new things to help us get the money. But I know what we really need to do is figure out a way to get rid of him.
But that's later. Right now I'm havin' a good time. Sure, I'm in debt, but that's just slowin' us down. Nothin' can stop us.
Do you believe in aliens? What? No. Maybe? I dunno, I never really thought about it.
What are your goals for the future?
Get rid of our debt. Then? Take the big apple for all it's worth. People are gonna remember us.
You lived in New York for a while now, right? What do you think of the city?
It's my home. I was born here, and I'll die here. I know the streets like the back of my hand.
How much technology do you use on a daily basis?
I got a little flip phone- personally I don't really use much. That's more AJ's thing. She's got this little toolkit she tinkers with, they made my web shooters. We're gonna get her a laptop and a brand new phone and all that shit.
What do you like?
Money.
Alejandara. Uh, not necessarily in that order. This list ain't in order, it's more of a vague kind of- you get it.
Hot dudes. You know it.
Freedom! No one can keep me down or inside. I do my own thing.
Coming out on top. I like winning...like I said, this list ain't in order. I think I like winnin' more than anything else.
What do you dislike? Poverty. I'm never gonna be broke again. Ever.
The system- the man, the god damn- society? Fuck it. It's stupid. I do what I want. Cops 'n all that shit can go fuck itself. 'Specially the cops- pigs.
Losing. I don't lose, okay? I win.
Heroine.
Do you think true evil exists?
Huh? I dunno? What kinda question is that?
What’s your favorite color? Orange!
Theme Song
Anything else to add? Spiders, man. Wasn't my idea to go with the spider shirt, but AJ insisted it looked cool. Maybe she's right. Spiders are pretty badass.
What are your thoughts on these people? Alejandra Jonas- She's my family. Like my little sister or somethin'. I...I mean, don't say this around her, but I'd do anything for her. Anything. I don't know what I'd do without her. Being by myself again...I don't think I could do that. She's gotta be the smartest dumbass I've ever met. She's taught me a lot, and hopefully I've done right by her so far. The two of us deserve more than we got, that's for sure. I'm gonna take it.
What’s your name? Alejandra Jonas. You can just call me AJ.
How old are you? I just turned eighteen.
What do you look like? Here.
(this time I stole Barbara Rodriguez)
I like to wear coats. Cargo coats, with lots of pockets for lots of useful things. Dunno why women's clothing so rarely has pockets. Plus, cargo coats are easily reusable, durable, and help keep me warm. Underneath, just some t-shirts, jeans, sneakers, usual stuff. When I can, I put on black eyeliner and lipstick, cause I'm cool like that. My right nostril and ears are both pierced, I think it looks cool. Generally I like to wear a beanie of some kind too. My hair is black and it's chest length. I just wear it down. Sometimes I comb it?
What did you do before the Recluse incident? Nobody knows this- not even Clara. I told her my parents are dead, but in reality they're still alive. Super rich, too. Thing is, I'm never going back. Never. No one would understand why if I told them. Why would I rather live on the streets with some random girl? Why would I ever do that? 'Cause they're assholes, thats why. They don't understand me at all, I don't even know if they understand human emotion. I was always a smart kid, and for some reason that meant they had the right to take my life away. Nothing I did was ever good enough for them. If my parents ever told me he loved me, I don't remember it. All my childhood was spent indoors, studying. Looking at books, all god damn day. I got sick of it. I was 16 when I ran away- I had been in college for 3 years already at that point. Can you believe that? 13 years old and already in college. I was depressed. I'm sure there's some kids out there who are so happy to be hardworking and dilligent, always getting their work done and being a doctor at 21. Then they get to retire as soulless sociopaths who's never made a meaningful connection in their life. Being a doctor, or a lawyer, getting a spouse, having two kids, retire, die. A cog in the machine. All they cared about was hoarding their money, and getting more money. No thanks. I wanted to live, really live. So I ran away. Never felt so free in my life. I was already forced to learn everything I needed too, anyway. To be honest, it was a bad idea. But I saw it as my only option. Now, I don't have any regrets.
I became a thief. I was on the streets for six months when I ran into Clara. I had gotten caught pick pocketing and these assholes were probably going to beat the shit out of me for fun. I probably deserved it- I was a really bad thief. I was all dirty, poor. If I went anywhere for help they would just drag me back to my parents. They don't live in Manhattan, but I figured it was the perfect city to get lost in and make a path for myself. Clara saved me, point blank. Not only from those guys by stabbing them in the kidneys with a pocket knife, but she really saved my life. If I hadn't met her I'd probably already be dead. One way or another.
Turns out she and I make a good team. A really good team. She's my best friend. Like an older sister. She taught me a lot, and I tried to teach her some things but she says its not really her area of expertise. I get it. Unlike me, she grew up poor. First person I ever met to see me as who I really was, and not as some kinda pet project or investment. For two years she and I worked the streets together, and we're building a life. She and I already had big ambitions. But that was before the Recluse Incident. That was what really changed our lives.
I feel bad about lying to Clara about my past. I guess I'm just afraid if I tell her the truth, she'll see me as some rich kid. A liar. And who could blame her? I've met rich kids. They suck. Most of 'em, anyway. I did have a couple friends I miss.
What happened after the incident? Clara got superpowers. Just like in the comic books I read. Neither of us could believe it, but neither of us could deny that she could stand on the ceiling and catch a ball thrown at the back of her head without looking. After that, she started raking in the cash big time. I knew I was smart, but I had forgotten how smart I actually was. I don't mean to brag, but I'm basically a technological goddess. I'm joking, of course, but engineering 101 paid off. I mean I already knew everything they had to teach me, but that's besides the point. I'm pretty sure I started developing some world changing technology. Either way, I kept it to myself and it made Clara a force to be reckoned with on the streets. We're going to make money. BIG TIME.
Once we pay off that doctor, it'll all be good.
Do you believe in aliens? No.
What are your goals for the future? After making a boatload of money and getting free? I'm not sure. Maybe Clara and I could start making the world a better place, or something. Where kids can be kids and everyone isn't so damn selfish. I know that's ironic coming from someone like me. But seriously.. One thing I'm never going to do is become apart of the establishment. Society isn't going to break me. I'm not going to be some kind of philanthropist who came from nothing. I'm not going to be in some god damn magazine, person of the year nobel peace prize bullshit. I'm going to make real change. Change people aren't going to like, because that's the only kind of change that matters.
Maybe. I don't know. I'll step off my soapbox and admit that right now, all I want is for Clara and I to be happy. Maybe get a boyfriend or girlfriend or something? If Clara doesn't scare them off.
You lived in New York for a while now, right? What do you think of the city? It's great. I've only been here for two years but anyone can get lost inside. I fled to New York City one person, and I'm going to emerge from it a changed woman.
How much technology do you use on a daily basis? A lot. I spend most of my day on it. But unlike most people, I'm actually productive.
What do you like? Clara Cabello, of course. Making money. Tech. Football is fun if I ever get the chance to play it. Ironically I probably spend more time researching and reading now then I did back in college, but the difference here is now I'm doing it for something, someone, I care about. Actually useful stuff that I'm going to use to forge my own destiny. Again, soapbox, sorry. Other than that, I like TV, video games, you know the usual stuff. Once we get financially secure I'm probably going to look a little more into hobbies than I am right now. Pizza is great, too. Bugs and animals are cool, too, particularly spiders.
What do you dislike? Cops. Feeling trapped. I mean, just society in general is really screwed up right now, you know? I also don't like stupid people. Not like Clara. I mean, she's "stupid", but she's like, really smart in other ways. Like my mom is really smart, but she's stupid in every other way that matters. Most people are dumb like that. I don't like people that don't...get it. I also don't like people that look down on me. I also hate hot dogs, they're disgusting.
Do you think true evil exists? Nah. But that doesn't mean people can't be soulless assholes, or deserve to die. But evil? Morality is subjective, I believe. But it still matters. I choose to believe that I am correct.
What’s your favorite color? Pinky purply blue?
Theme song
Anything else to add? I think I've said enough.
What are your thoughts on these people? Clara Cabello: Like an older sister to me. Family is what one chooses, and I choose her.
Hey there! The sisters Cabello are back up and running. Made some minor adjustments.
All right, let’s take it from the top, one more time…
What’s your name? Morgan Ward
How old are you? 18
What do you look like? White, 5'5", blue short hair, blue eyes, lean but muscled, female.
What did you do before the Recluse incident? Morgan grew up in rural New York living with her grandfather. Her parents lived in the city working as traders and due to them never having time to help their daughter, she stayed on a farm helping hier grandfather. She was ten when she learned she could take apart and rewire electronics was well as work on vehicles which became her hobby. Her grandfather noticed her talent and talked to her parents about getting her into a good school for technology in the city. To no avail they simply had no time for their daughter.
Morgan grew bitter as she got older and it was when she was seventeen that her parents died due to a mysterious circumstances. They had been found in their apartment, meager though it looked, murdered. Both had been strangled to death and the place had been turned over as if someone was looking for something. From that point on grandpa made it a point to make sure Morgan knew how to defend herself and as well to get her into a good school.
Grandpa loved his granddaughter and in the year after her parents died Morgan learned alot but also lost more. Her grandpa died in his sleep the day after Morgan received the letter of acceptance into a great technology school. In grandpa's will Morgan was surprised to find that her schooling had been taken care of by a trust her grandfather had set up. She also had an apartment that was paid up for with a note...
"Little lady you have worked hard with me all your life with no more help than you ever needed. You have taken care of me and this farm for far to long. I leave everything to you to sell or make your own. The help can keep the farm running and the neighbors agreed to manage things while you're away at school. That is my one requirement that you attend and complete school. Make something of yourself sweetheart. Be more than the hard lessons you had to learn from your parents."
Morgan then attended school doing as her grandpa wished. Flash forward two years to the Recluse incident Morgan has her world turned upside down again...now the rest if the story unfolds in the following pages.
What happened after the incident? Super Strength:10 Agility:15 Durability:10 Regeneration:10 Spider-Sense:15 Mutation:40 Powers: Morgan has organic webbing but not in the way you may think. Along her back and sides sprout tiny almost invisible gossamer threads that use electromagnetic waves to make her glide above the ground and in some cases fly as she does not swing from webs like the others. On her wrists there are barbs attached to thicker webbing that when shot can be used to absorb and discharge electrical energy. The webbing and barb can retract to be used again in this way, however after so many uses the barb falls off has to grow back before use again, usually within a day. Also Morgan has the ability to sense the electromagnetic waves of the earth helping her glide. Morgan when holding energy has increased agility and with out normal super human levels. Further character development could develop further exploration of his abilities.
Do you believe in aliens? Yes
What are your goals for the future? To become a developer of hardware and software as well as protect her place in life.
You lived in New York for a while now, right? What do you think of the city? Between the corruption and other things that happens here someone needs to clean up this city.
How much technology do you use on a daily basis? Alot is an understatement. Everything Morgan does in her everyday life involves some kind of tech.
What do you like? Fixing things, a good pizza, puzzles.
What do you dislike? Avocados, criminals, narrow minded men
Do you think true evil exists? Yes. It is the darkness the permeates the universe and everyone is susceptible to its power as it is and forever will be constant just as true good or light.
What’s your favorite color? Electric Blue

Anything else to add? TBA
What are your thoughts on these people? (Relations. List each character by name, in their respective color, and your character’s current thoughts on them. Most characters should be aware of each other at least a little. To what extent is up to you.)
All right, let’s take it from the top, one more time…
What’s your name? Daniel Davis. You can just call me Danny.
How old are you? 18
What do you look like? (Description is preferable, picture is acceptable. Both is even better. Costume ideas optional; you can wait for IC for that part.)
I look like this I guess. I’m not really that good looking.
My future costume. I’d like something like this.
Since getting Spider Powers, I don’t actually need the glasses. I just feel naked without them, so I wear fake ones.
What did you do before the Recluse incident?
So my mom and dad always wanted kids, but had trouble uh... making one. Well after years of trying, they finally had us. My twin sister Caty and I. Life was good for us. Our parents loved us, and supported our interest. My sister and I loved science, and would perform science experiments together, and learned as much as we could about whatever interested us at the time.
I know I know, most kids don’t usually do science experiments for fun, but my sister and I definitely weren’t most kids. At least I wasn’t. When I wasn’t studying, I played with Barbie dolls while most boys played with Hot Wheels cars. Needless to say, I was bullied a lot by other kids. I didn’t have a bunch of friends. There was that one kid who stood up for me when I was younger, but I lost touch with them. I never even learned their name. My sister on the other hand was the popular twin. She had a ton of friends.
That continued into high school. My sister was the cheerleader, and I was the nerd that joined the science club. Before your mind goes where it’s going, I’m not bitter. Seriously I’m not. I could never deal with being popular. Having all those people begging for your attention, ugh I could never. My sister and the other science club members are all the companionship I need... Although... a boyfriend would be nice... maybe... If I can find anyone who could love me...
Anyway, I still got bullied a lot. By one guy in particular. A jerk named Skyler. He was a jock. I had a crush on him. On my mothers advice, I went to tell him how I felt. What’s the worst that could happen she said? You know what happened? He laughed at me, beat me up, shoved me into a locker, and outed me to the whole school. The bullying continued. My sister defended me sometimes, but that only made it worse. I can honestly say high school was hell for me.
Yet through it all, I managed to ace my SAT and ACT, and graduate with a 5.0 GPA. My sister and I also received a bunch of scholarships for different schools he applied to, but we decided to stay in New York, and attend Empire State University there. My sister and I also intern at a prestigious science lab. Everything was going well for us. At least until well... you know.
I’m stronger, faster, and can climb up walls. All the basic spider stuff.
I didn’t get any extra powers like some of the others here did, but I make up for it with smarts.
My sister and I make our own brand of spider silk that we can shoot out of web shooters worn on our wrists. The silk is a tough flexible fiber with adhesive qualities. It is strong enough to support our weight, and can use it to swing. The webs disolve into powder two hours after being exposed to air for easy clean up! We can make different variations of the web for different purposes. My normal webs are pink, but I also make them different colors. Including rainbow web for Pride!
Also, my unrelated to any powers, but my dad died in the incident. He was just coming to visit us. It isn’t fair. Can we talk about something else please?
Do you believe in aliens? Absolutely! Could you imagine what we could from civilizations outside our own planet?
What are your goals for the future? I’m going to college to study science. I want to be a scientist someday. Dr. Daniel Davis has a nice ring to it, wouldn’t you say? Now what field I’m going to specialize in? That I’m not so sure. I’m also going to try out the superhero thing with my sister. Though I’m still nervous about that.
You lived in New York for a while now, right? What do you think of the city? I love New York. I was born and raised here. I couldn’t imagine living anywhere else. It’s my city.
How much technology do you use on a daily basis?
All the time! I’m on my phone, iPad, or computer on a regular basis.
What do you like? Science, Cute Things, Comic Books, Video Games, Cartoons, Sweets, my family, hot guys Um... i-ignore that last one.
What do you dislike? Bullies, Sports, Homophobia, just mean/stupid people in general
Not really a dislike, but I have a fear of not being good enough. I mean my twin is this amazing cheerleader and the best human being ever, sooo what do I bring to the table?
Do you think true evil exists? Yes. I see it everyday. They shove me into lockers, bully me for being gay. True evil does exist.
What’s your favorite color? Pink!
Favorite song? I like Pop Music. Lady Gaga, Britney Spears, Ariana Grande, the like. Haven’t found anything that says Danny Davis yet though.
Anything else to add? I can speak Spanish, French, and Italian. I like romance languages. What of it?
What are your thoughts on these people?
Marcus Tanner This guy, I’ve seen him around campus. God why do I always fall for the bad boy? I’ve never spoken to him, and I think I’ll keep my mouth shut this time. I’ve already been burned once already.
Scott Yi He seems... oddly familiar to me. I don’t know why. Either way, he’s handsome and seems nice.
Alexandra Jones: We met at Science Camp. A girl who likes science as much as I do.
Caty Davis: My twin! She’s my twin and I love her to bits. I’ll be honest though I sometimes do feel a little inadequate next to her. I don’t hold it against her. I just wish I knew what I brought to the table.
All right, let’s take it from the top, one more time…

How old are you? 19
What do you look like?
5'10" Muscular Mesomorphic Build Mid-length Tapered Brown Hair Vitiligo Scarred Torso; Tattooed on his Back.
What did you do before the Recluse incident? Alexander was born of a one-night stand when his mother was a teenager and she died giving birth to him. Because of this he never found out who his father was and was raised by his grandparents.
Frank Cassel, a friend to the family, ran a martial arts school and Alex started training there under him when he was five. The man took interest in the boy because of his determination, and in time they grew a strong bond; Frank taking on an Uncle sort of role. Unfortunately what he did not know was that Frank had a gambling addiction and ended up owing money to the local mob. So his life was relatively peaceful until Uncle Frank was no longer able to pay his debts.
One night during the summer, before Xander's senior year, he was training late at his uncle's dojo. Some thugs broke into Frank's office, but he was too focused on his training to notice. By the time Alex had noticed something was off, it was too late and he heard a gunshot. That night his uncle and sifu died in his arms.
What happened after the incident? Alexander continued to obsessively search for the people who were responsible for the death of his uncle. This is mostly due to cops letting the case go cold. In which case, Xander decided to find his own justice.

Anything else to add? “I was a big fan of various mythologies as a kid, mostly Chinese, Greek, Thai, Egyptian, and Japanese. The tattoo on my back used to be the symbol of my uncle’s school before it was disbanded...for obvious reasons.”
What are your thoughts on these people?
“Patricia and Jason Lee are my grandparents, they run a Chinese restaurant and raised me. My grandmother is a kind but strict and peculiar woman. My grandfather is a wise and wisecracking old man. Honestly, I'm not sure what I'd be without them. They're the only family I have left and I owe them everything.
Scott Yi is a casual classmate of mine that I don't really know much about other than the fact that both of us on here on a scholarship, him for science and me for athletics.
I saw X-Ray around a bit in high school, but did not really notice him until he started to go to The Lucky Star. He’s become something of a semi-regular. He can be loud and annoying at times, but he seems to be a decent person.
Kim Agbayani is somebody I have honestly only met once when she and her mom ate at my family's restaurant, so while I was their waiter I don't really know her to be honest...”
