There had always been something about the boy next to her that she couldn't quite place.

He had always been so different. Had always been so quick to smile. The way it reached his eyes when he saw her or the tiny pull of his lips when he made her tea early in the mornings. A smile that he still gave her despite how hard she had pushed him away in the past. He always came back with gravity, and when she couldn't hold it together anymore, he was always there.

Reaching over, Anzu's finger trips traced over his features. Her fingers danced over his eyebrows lingering on the scar there before moving to the bridge of his nose down the cupid's bow and lips. She could feel it, the pull of his lips under her fingertips, his warm breath tickling her skin. Anzu moved her hand down to his jaw and down his neck until they rested over his bare chest.

"Like what you see?"

Carlos had had his eyes on her for a few seconds now. The warmth of her skin against him had lulled him into a sleep-like trance, their bodies tangled against each other. The sunrays that peeked from the crack of the blinds illuminating the room with warm light, warm enough to push away the thin blanket that covered them both. The hand that draped over Anzu's hips pulled her in closer against him as he buried his face into the pink of her hair. It smelled of jasmine and coconut, a smell he had associated with home for so long now.

"Idiot." Anzu rolled her eyes as she pressed her cheek against his chest. "Of course I do." A smile graced her features as she pulled back, the blanket falling from her shoulder and pooling around her waist. One hand held her up while the other stayed over Carlos's chest as she stared down at him.

She didn't want to look away, just a few more minutes to memorize the curve of his cheeks, the pink of his lips, and the darkness of his eyes. As dark as the night sky, so dark she could get lost in them forever. Anzu had finally wrapped her head around the idea that he'd be gone for a week. 7 days that she'd have to endure without his stupid jokes, or oneliners, or the feeling of his skin against hers.

"You're doing it again," Carlos lifted a hand to her face, cupping her cheek tenderly. "I'll be back before you know it, Zu." She didn't have to say anything for him to know what she was thinking. To anyone else, Anzu was like a cipher, a puzzle in an ancient and forgotten language that no matter how hard you try to figure out, you couldn't get it. But to Carlos, she was an opened book, a door wide open. She had a way of moving, almost invisible to others, but in plain sight for Carlos. He could see the way her eyes softened and the slightest change in her tone, the way she held herself all told him what he needed to know.

"I know." Anzu could feel the corners of her lips tug the slightest. "I know." His hand felt warm against her porcelain-like skin, almost like it was hot enough to burn. Sometimes she wondered how he always managed to figure her out. Know exactly what she was feeling without having to voice it.

"We should-"

"Just a few more minutes." Carlos pulled Anzu back down into the bed and against him. His hand trailed over her spine with feather-like touches, and his lips covered Anzu's forehead, cheeks, and jaw until they found her lips.

They laid in Carlos's bed for a few more minutes. Anzu knew they were wasting time, but the bags were already packed, and weapons were ready to go. Any minute now, they'd have to get up from bed, get dressed, and say their goodbyes to each other. Anzu was still unsure who would be part of the rest of the group aside from Carlos and Zeru. Brandon would be the next person Erin would have asked, knowing that they were close, and then... Tyler. Her older brother. It hadn't dawned on her until now. The three people who meant so much would be stepping outside the camp's safety and across the world in search of a fucking dove.

"Zu," Carlos nudged the girl besides him. He could see it in her eyes again, the same look she had when Erin asked him to with her on the quest. "I think I should get ready now," he pulled back, shivering at the loss of Anzu's warmth. He turned his back to her as he walked over to his closet and pulled a fresh change of clothes. He could hear her get up from the bed behind him and gather her clothes from the floor.

"Promise to bring you a souvenir from Italy," Carlos looked over his shoulder toward her direction. "Maybe a shirt that says I Love Italy or a mini Leaning Tower of Pizza." He pulled on a dark shirt over his head, now finished getting dressed.

"Just a coin. An Italian Lira," Anzu slipped on the large white shirt she had been wearing. One of the many items she had stolen from Carlos's closet and claimed as her own. "Might be hard to find, but just one would be nice." She reached down for the black skirt, pulling it up to her hips and tucking in half of the shirt into it.

When she was done getting dressed, Anzu walked over to Carlos, reaching up to push some of the stray curls away from his eyes. "Keep an eye on Ren and Ty, please." She could already feel it rise on her throat again, forcing her to swallow down the emotions threatening to slip out. Anzu had to trust them, all of them, that they'd come back safe and sound. Carlos had luck on his side, after all. That didn't mean he wouldn't get badly hurt. What if he broke something, or was badly wounded, or-

No. Carlos would come back just fine.

"And it's Pisa, not pizza." Idiot. She smiled.

"I know, and I will." Carlos took her hand in his, pressing her knuckles against his lips before leaning in to kiss her. Tender and full. He pulled back, smiling down at Anzu before he pulled away to gather the rest of his things. A backpack with enough clothes to last him a week, some snacks, and his weapons. He was glad now to have taken them to the forge just a few days ago to get them sharpened, and his bow tightened. He still felt unprepared; Carlos knew he wasn't the best at fighting, and those rare times he had won against Anzu or Zeru had just been his luck at hand.

"I'll bring you that Italian Lira." Carlos said as he fastened the backpack's straps and patted his sword's sheath. His trusty Spartan sword at his side and bow neatly tucked into the bag.

Anzu had taken a step back to look his over, tucking a few strands of the pastel pink behind her ear. "You're missing something." She turned around and hurried over to the wall where her swords were resting neatly on the floor. She picked up the wakizashi, the shortest of the two swords, and pushed it against Carlos's shoulder. If her grandmother knew she was giving away the wakizashi to him, she'd never hear the end of it. Her two swords were meant to stay together, to show others that she was a worthy Onna-Bugeisha, but she didn't need it. Carlos would get better use of it than she would.

"Take it; you'll need it more than I will."

Carlos stared down at the sword being presented to him. He knew how much it meant to her family, and most importantly, to Anzu. He didn't know what to say, really. "Zu, I-" He couldn't say no. She was trusting him to come back, to deliver that Lira, and to return her sword. Alive.

"Thank you," His fingers wrapped around the sheath of the sword tightly, the engravings of it marking his palm. The metal felt cool against his skin, almost like Anzu's skin. Smooth. "I'll take care of it."

Anzu nodded, taking Carlos by the shoulders, pulling him closer, and wrapping her arms tightly around him. Seconds passed before she pulled back, dark gaze staring back at his own. She didn't have to say it; he already knew. No promises or goodbyes, because then it would mean there might be a chance he wouldn't make it back. Anzu didn't want that.

"Come back to me."

Carlos nodded, reading her with a simple glance.

"I will."

Both left the cabin, hand in hand.

Location: Camp Jupiter to Camp Half-Blood; New York.
Interactions:

The San Francisco bay was chilly, a salty wind mixing with the industry of a large city. Standing at the door to the barracks, taking in the morning was Seventeen-year-old Aurelius Hale. The Praetor breathing deeply inwards and then out, a soft smile on his face. It would be the last time he would awaken this way for some time, his last day with his men. With a sigh, Relus, as he preferred to be called, brought up a hand and carded through his hair, somewhat styling it but really just making the unkempt sleep tossed strands get even messier. He moved on auto-pilot through his morning routine, showering first and dressing in a rich purple tunic, blue jeans, and a golden cuirass which had a purple cape that fell to just below the knee attached to the back. Finished dressing, the young man left the barracks and began his morning run to Temple Hill.

Running in the morning when the world first began to wake up was one of Relus's favorite things to do. No one but Octavia knew it, but watching as the sky gave way to morning, darkness retreating until dusk came again, and the animals waking up all around the hills. It was magical, and Relus never felt closer to the gods than he did at those moments. He made it up to Temple Hill and knelt at the entrance while he caught his breath, a small prayer of thanks to Victoria before standing and making his way to the Temple of Pluto. As with the Temples Jupiter and Neptune, the Temple to Pluto was large and spacious, with plenty of space to pay respects. Aurelius stopped at the entrance and removed his shoes before entering and went to bow before the main statue. "Mighty Pluto, as I have done every morning of my time in Camp Jupiter I come to honor and thank you for your blessing and the honor of being chosen by you. I leave today for Camp Half-Blood where I doubt I will find a temple to your name. As such, I request once more that if you feel I should remain to let me know now. My love for Octavia is strong but I am yours to command in the end."

All was quiet for the ensuing fifteen minutes of prayer, and with a nod, Relus bowed his way out of the Temple and then made his way to another temple, smaller and out of the way the inscribed sigil above the entranceway was a wheel spoke. The Temple of Nemesis was entered as if Aurelius was entering his own home, the young demi-god comfortable and at peace. "Mother, I'm home." He said with a chuckle. He moved to the statue and bowed his head. "At least I'll be near you Mother. I have to say I'm a bit anxious but also excited to see Octavia again. I also have to break it to the Legion somehow. I pray you'll be with me when I do, I will need the support, even if it's a brief murmur. I love you, and I will see you on the other side of the country huh?" He smirked and tossed his now dried hair and stepped up to the statue, placing his hand on Nemesis's shin before he headed out and began running back to the barracks.

Instead of a sleeping camp though, this time as he neared the barracks activity was all around as campers woke up and began their own morning routines. The garrison on the Praetorian Gate was reinforced and Relus was offered a very brief challenge. Before, the guards would just open if they saw him or Octavia until Relus chewed them out for laziness. Everyone, even the gods themselves were expected to state their identity, it was the one big rule that no one really followed. It had taken years to finally get this practice down but Relus could smile as he gave his salute and held his Imperial Gold sword up into the air as was his signal. The gates opened slowly, and Relus replaced his sword just as he jogged in, instantly met by the Legion's quartermaster. "Ah, no Levinius. All those reports go to Quincy now." Relus gave a 'you should know that' look to the quartermaster who blinked and at least had the decency to look quite alarmed.

"Oh! Jupiter's apologies Praetor, I am just so used to you taking the morning report after your run. I will head off to find Quincy." The boy muttered his words and backed off, moving along and leaving Relus to sigh and shake his head again. This was going to be a long day...

And a long day it was, full of drill and wargames on the Field of Mars. Relus stood in the observation area with his chosen replacement, Quincy, a seasoned and strong Centurion. "Now, you see how the groups are off there, annnnd there." Relus points to two different Cohorts. "We have to make sure that that movement is uniform across the board. They'll try and get away with anything small, your job is to catch it and make them do it until it's right five times in a row. If you need help, MacArthur has your number, and Lupa I'm sure wouldn't mind addressing any trouble-makers. But honestly, I don't think we'll have any problems." The Centurion, Quincy nodded and placed his hands behind his back, helmet still tucked firmly in the nook of his arm.

"I agree with you Praetor Hale, I should have no issues with this task and I will send what troops we can spare from this assignment to assist on one of the fronts." Relus nods and observes one more time.

"Alright, call them in for a briefing. My plane leaves in exactly two hours, it is time for me to take my leave. Jupiter guide your mind Centurion." The other boy gives a brisk salute and then heads up to prepare the camp to be addressed.

It was perhaps some twenty minutes later that the camp was prepared and an aide came back to retrieve Relus, put him on the wings of the stage, and then whispered into his mic. "In position."

"And now, your Praetor would like a word with you all!" At the introduction, Aurelius took a deep breath and began moving forward until he was standing before the Legion who were standing in perfect formations, all at attention. Relus took the microphone and placed his left hand behind his back while he stops.

"Legion, dimitto. Please, relax I stand before you today not only as one of your Praetors but also a friend and fellow Camper. Today, after this assembly I will be making my way into the city and boarding a plane for New York and then to Camp Half-Blood." He paused as whispering broke out and nodded a few times. "I'm aware this may take some of you off guard but it is what I feel needs to be done. I will be looking to promote more cooperation and chances to grow stronger together with the Greeks. We all have things we can learn from the other, and it is the hope that with mutual understanding Romans and Greeks can even potentially begin quests together. While I am away, Centurion Quintus Aurion will be in command. I will miss every single one of you, you're the best Legionnaires I could ask to serve with, and I go to try and make things better for you. Until I return. Aureole Validas! Stand strong, be perfect." Aurelius finished speaking and bowed his head forward and then headed off the stage where a deafening clapping could be heard.

Such a response invigorated Relus who passed over the torch formally to Quincy and then headed for the tunnel where a car was waiting to take him to the city. The last few steps within the tunnel caused Relus to look back, eyes taking in the sights and sounds once more, breathing in the air as dusk slowly began to retake the territory it lost in the morning. A soft smile was on his face as he got into the car, things would be alright. He managed to once again refrain from texting Octavia, deciding to instead truly surprise her when he showed up. He looked to the drive and gave a nod, he was ready...

The blinking of a damaged sign reading 'No Board' is what captivated Relus's attention. When not on duty and in a crowded location, such as a bustling airport with hundreds of potential flyers, Aurelius liked to lose track of the world for a little bit and just relax. A stark contrast to the constant head-turning, crowd checks, and contingency plans when he was responsible for a host of other Legionnaires. With a soft yawn, Relus stood and gave a stretch and smoothed his hair on its left side above the ear. He was a mix of bored, frustrated, and relaxed and all of them were his least favorite emotions more or less. He made his way to his gate and plastered a fake smile onto his face as he greeted the ticket collector who blushed and looked down as she checked his ticket and then gave a wink when she noticed he was in first class. Briefly, Aurelius considered flirting back but the fact that he was even taking this trip to get back to Octavia kept his usual playful personality in check.

Truth be told, Relus was lucky he had been allowed first-class. He usually kept things simple, off the grid, but he had managed to get the tickets cheap and so here Relus was, settling into his seat and smirking softly as he brought out his laptop and typed in a coded phrase into a chatbox, 'Passing Herod.' There was a moment of quiet before a gentle ding informing of a message and Kairo glanced down to see a response fly across his screen. 'Welcome Praetor, password accepted.' Relus smirked again and closed the laptop lid before breathing out a sigh and closing his eyes, head leaning back. When he opened them next he found that the trip was already halfway over and that it was pitch-black outside. With a large stretch and a stifled yawn, Relus took stock of his surroundings and decided to stretch his legs and use the little demi-god's room. As he was passing by other sleeping first-class fliers he took note of the time and chuckled a bit, he must have been more tired than he had thought. It didn't really matter, the trip was going to be spent doing nothing anyway so catching up on missed sleep was a blessing really but still, Aurelius didn't like succumbing to any weakness and the need for sleep was one of those.

In the end, however, after taking care of other mortal needs such as the bathroom, Relus returned to his seat and once again passed out and didn't wake again until he felt hands gently shaking him. Coming out of his sleep he froze, muscles tensing and eyes dilating as a rush of adrenaline ran through him until he managed to gain control. He had to relax each muscle slowly and let himself wake before opening his eyes and forcing a smile when he noticed the same attractive blonde attendant hovering over him. She seemed hesitant and apologetic for startling him but Relus just poured on the charm and made sure to ease the situation so as to not make a scene. He also quietly cursed his exhaustion and for not waking earlier. He could just hear his old instructor in his head. 'Don't you DARE ever lose focus, at any time!' With a sigh, he gathered his belongings and after the plane touched down and began taxiing to an available gate, Aurelius opened his laptop and opened his e-mail, double-checking his directions to Camp Half-Blood. With the address memorized, Relus disembarked into the nightlife of New York City and managed to catch a taxi right away.

The City was impressive, Relus would give it that. The amount of activity during the night was quite insane and as the taxi left the big skyscrapers, and bumper-to-bumper traffic behind for a bit more green Aurelius was actually glad for the change of scenery. Eventually, the taxi made it to the destination, a small farm-house and Aurelius paid the driver and muttered his thanks before making sure he had everything. The most important being his Onyx Ring, and Golden Coin. The two blades were Aurelius's pride and joy, and if anything happened to them he would be quite saddened. He walked around the house and spotted the trail easily, adjusting his bags and moving forward. It was a well-traveled path actually, and not hard to follow at all, and Relus made good timing to get to the boundary.

As he entered into the camp proper he noticed that he was morning, and not wanting to miss any of the fun he placed his gear into his cabin and then went about gearing himself up in Greek gear. He spent the entire day messing with and following Octavia around. Sure it was a bit creeper, but he had just flown across the entire country to get back to her, he deserved a biiiiit more for his big reveal. He watched proudly as she performed in the obstacle course, stood against her brother, and then headed for healing. He also chuckled at how quickly he left said Healers and as she headed for the Ares house, Relus figured it was time to say hello. He headed up the stairs and knocked a few times, removing the Greek helmet and tossing his hair out a bit.

After making sure that everyone was alright, Arthur promptly said goodbye to everyone in the infirmary before taking his leave. He had no destination in mind at the moment, letting himself wander wherever his feet would take him while deep in thought. The matter with Erin certainly put a lot of them on edge, even someone as perpetually calm as Arthur. But if there's one thing he had learned in all his years at camp... it's that all the gods were unpredictable.

As if to prove that point, Arthur suddenly heard an unfamiliar voice in his head. He was familiar with these "glimpses" like the one he's having right now. It was sort of a way his mom would communicate with him whenever she wanted to talk to him privately. "She did say she never liked using Iris messages because she felt like Iris was eavesdropping on everyone using her messaging service." Arthur thought.

The fact that it was an unfamiliar female voice he was hearing and not his mother's struck the son of Selene as odd. Although it didn't take him long to figure out that this was the message his mom wanted him to hear. Focusing on the voice, he discovered that the girl was... singing? And it was quite a familiar song too. Stopping at a nearby bench, Arthur took a seat before quietly contemplating the situation. The way she sung felt like it was a cry for help rather than someone singing just for the sake of it. Since he was legacy of one of the muses, he could easily tell what emotion people are feeling as they played any musical instrument or sung any song.

After the girl seemed to have finished singing her heart out, Arthur heard her talking in an emotional tone but it felt like she wasn't talking to someone but rather something. And since his mother was showing him this, he could imagine that the girl was voicing her frustrations to the moon.

He doesn't know what trouble the mysterious girl was in, but he could deduce a few things from this situation, at the very least.

First and foremost, he was certain that she was a demigod. His mother isn't really interested in the affairs of mortals ever since she relinquished her duties to Artemis. Secondly, he noticed that the girl had a slight indian accent so the best guess he has is that she's somewhere in India. Third, the fact that his mom showed interest in her meant that she must be his sister... or somewhere along those lines. And lastly, she needed help in escaping whatever predicament she was in and the best way to help her as well as ensure her safety was to bring her back to camp.

With a sense of urgency in his step, Arthur made his way to the Big House. As much as he wanted to start searching for the girl who could potentially be his sister, he knew that Mr. D was responsible for everything related to demigod search-and-rescue operations... including who gets sent to retrieve them. After getting inside the imposing structure, the son of Selene made his way towards the wine god's office. Placing three well-placed knocks, he first asked permission to enter before daring to venture in.

"Hello, Mr. D? It's Arthur. Arthur Keller. May I please enter your office? I have something important to tell you." Arthur said in a calm and confident tone from outside Dionysus' door.

"Yes, yes- come in Mr. Archer."

Waving his hand in a dismissive manner, not particularly caring as to who was on the other side of the door; Dionysus' attention was instead focused on the files lain out on the desk in front of him. His features worn, showing even the smallest amount of his actual age the longer he held a frown. A crease plastered between his brows. Take this serious... that was the great advice that Chiron had given him. Blasted brother- if the centaur wanted the decision to be made seriously, then why in Olympus hadn't he just done the blasted job himself..?

His frown deepening as the door opened, revealing the child who had come to seek him out, he once again lifted his hand. This time motioning for him to hurry up, "Come on; hurry up. What is it, Mr. Ardel..? I don't have all day..."

After getting the go ahead from the Camp Director, Arthur promptly entered Mr. D's office, stood in front of him, and gave him a respectful bow. Afterwards, he began relaying the information he received from his mother.

"Sir, I wish to inform you if a possible Demigod that needs rescuing. The details my mother gave me were quite vague. All I know is that she's somewhere in India, she needs immediate rescuing... And she could possibly be my half-sister. Please, I'm asking you to send a party to bring her back here." The dark-haired boy said while trying to maintain his calm demeanor. All he could hope was that he managed to convey the urgency of the matter to Mr. D properly. Hearing how much the wine god got his name wrong was a small price to pay for his possible half-sister's salvation.

"..yes Mr. Arend; I am already well aware of the little blighter that needs to be collected." His dark gaze lifting from the files he had been looking over, Dionysus took a few moments to simply stare at the child standing in front of him before he began to move. Hands resting on the desk, pressing into it, he stood himself up to his rightful height. Picking up a memo that he'd received from Olympus sometime between the the commotion at the obstacle tower, and him having returned to his office, "However, you are mistaken. The child is not in India, they are in Atlanta, Georgia. Though why your mother is butting into the affairs of another's child is beyond me..."

Arthur wasn't really all that surprised when Mr. D told him he was already aware of the situation. They tend to do so much stuff that inconvenience others at the very least that people tend to forget that entities like the god of wine/Diet Coke extremely powerful beings with abilities beyond human comprehension.

What surprised Arthur, however, were the little details that he acquired from what little the camp director said. First of all, it seems that the mystery girl is in Atlanta, Georgia instead of India. That certainly makes this rescue mission a lot less complicated. It also means that they could get to her faster. The next thing that Dionysus said, however, instilled mixed feelings within Arthur.

"Mom is interested in another's child... So that means she isn't my sister?"

A pang of guilt spread in Arthur's chest at the same as relief came flooding in. He was glad that his mum still remained faithful to his dad to this day but it didn't mean that he didn't want the mysterious girl to be family... Besides, as Mr. D had expressed, it would be strange for his mother to put so much attention and interest over someone who isn't her daughter... Unless.

"Sir... If she isn't my sister then she could have been chosen as a Legacy by my mother. That's the only other explanation I could think of at the moment."

"..where in Olympus did you get Indian..?" His frown becoming more defined, Dionysus made his round his desk. His arms crossing over the front of his chest as he perched himself back and on the edge of it. His dark eyes baring down on the demigod standing in front of him, "From information given to me, the girl is Russian."

Arthur raised his brow when he heard the discrepancy between the information Dionysus had given him. It made sense now that they were having so many conflicting pieces of information when he thought about it. After having been all over the world due to his family's lifestyle, he was certain he could tell apart a Russian accent from an Indian accent and he was now more certain that they are looking at two completely different truths.

"The only explanation I have right now, sir, is that the demigod you have described to me and the one I told you about in turn are two completely different people. I am more than confident that the voice my mother made me hear in my head was that of a young woman of Indian descent. So I think we're looking at two separate search-and-rescue operations, Mr. D."

Family or not, there was a reason his mom showed him that glimpse and he needed to convince Mr.D that what he was saying was true.

"..two... of course there's fucking two of them..." Letting out a heavy sigh, Dionysus closed his eyes. One hand raising from where it had been as he rubbed wearily at his features.

The silence hanging between them, heavy, for a few moments longer, Dionysus eventually turned his gaze back to the young man standing in front of him, "..you wouldn't be interested in going, would you..? No, of course you wouldn't. Why would running this pathetic camp be as simple as that..."

Arthur was about to correct Mr. D when the camp director assumed he wouldn't be imterested in joining the rescue party but ultimately decided against it. For starters, it was risky enough as it is to attempt correcting the temperamental wine god. More importantly, however, he was putting his faith on Dionysus to pick the right people for the rescue teams.

"I have a... Prior engagement, Mr. D, so I can't personally come. However, I can drop them off in one of the hotels in India I've been to in the past using Shadow Travel." Arthur suggested enthusiastically.

"Prior engagement. Right." The laugh passing into the air more like a scoff, Dionysus pushed away from his desk. If he hadn't heard a more useless excuse in all his existence. What prior engagement would any of the little shits he was charged with possibly have..? All they did was laze about, mess around and take advantage of the lackadaisical rules that were set in place. He'd never admit it out loud to anyone, but it made him rather proud. They were kids after his own heart, and really, he wouldn't have it any other way.

Moving over to the large filing cabinet behind his desk; and after pulling it open, simply plucked five files out at random. Dionysus' dark eyes taking a moment to glance the names listed before he slipped one back into the cabinet. Replacing it with another, he made his way back to sit in his chair, reaching to pull the mic for the camps speaker system closer to him, "If the group I send wishes for your help, then so be it. It's up to them."

Laying the files out with the other five he'd already chosen, again, at random, Dionysus held his hand up as a sign for the boy to remain quiet as he flicked the switch and spoke into the mic. His voice ringing out through the whole of the camp, "Alright you lazy blighters. I want to see the following demigods in my office: Kyrin Nahng, Vivian Lucasta, Elias Schneider, Greyson Davies, Anzu Ito, Levina Engracia, Dorian Underwood, Zane Blacklight, and Michael Stevenson. I also want to see Sawyer Lockwood. Now. Might be an immortal, but I'm not going to waste my existance waiting on you lot."

Again... almost always; there was blood glistening across her hands. Over her worked knuckles. But then, it was natural. It wasn't exactly out of the ordinary for someone in camp to shed blood on any given day, and really, the sons and daughters of war were no exception. In fact she was pretty damn sure that, nine times out of ten, it was them that kept the infirmary as busy as it usually was. A sigh passing out through her lips, Octavia frowned. Her dark gaze falling to her hands as she curled and uncurled her fingers a few times over. The crimson of her blood staining her flesh, but she was far used to it by now. Besides... it was just a few scratches. What really mattered was that everything underneath was still good. The bones and muscles... the tendons.

As long as they were fine; then it was easy enough to put up with the scrapes and bruises.

Wincing slightly, the gentle cool breeze blowing in through the window running over her raw knuckles making them sting slightly; Octavia's gaze was drawn over to the window. Watching for a few moments as the light from the sun streamed in through it before he began to move. Fingers curling gently over the pane as she pulled it down, shutting it completely. Again, it was something that she was used to, but even still, it didn't mean that she liked the rather uncomfortable sting that came from an open wound, no matter how small it might have been.

Turning away from the window after a moment longer, Octavia's arms fell. Swinging lightly at her sides as she crossed over to her bedside table, and only once she got there did she pull open the top draw. Hand resting on its surface as she began to rumage through it with the other. A frown etching its way onto her features, her fingers clasped around the almost empty roll of black tape she usually used when she trained. Shit. She was almost out. That meant that she had to choose from one of a few options. First, she could simply go back to the infirmary and ask them if they had any spare... second, she could order more and pay extra for Hermes to deliver it in the next few minutes... or third, she could risk it and venture into one of her brothers rooms to see if any of them had any left.

It wasn't the most appealing of the options, but...

Rolling her eyes; Octavia slid the draw closed. Her fist curling around what little tape she had left, she turned away. Her feet carrying her accross the room, it wasn't long before she was reaching out and pulling open the door leading from her bedroom into the hall. Though as soon as she did, she couldn't stop the flicker of regret, however brief it was, from crossing her mind as she came face to face with one of the figures she hadn't thought she'd be seeing so soon.

Talon.

Of everyone she could have possibly run into, it had to be him. Of course it did, because really, that was just her luck. And with the way the whole day was going so far, she wasn't necissarily surprised. Opening her mouth to speak, her words were cut off before she even had a chance to form them in her mind. Her attention instead drawing down the stairs and towards the front door as the sound of knuckles rapping on the wood filled the air. A guest..? Now..? It clearly wasn't Elias or Brandon; neither of them would have knocked. Why would they..? They lived there too.

Hesitating, her gaze flicking back and forth between her brother and the front door of their cabin; it was only a few moments after that her attention was drawn up towards the speaker fitted in the corner of the hallway. The sound of Dionysus' voice coming out of it. An announcement, really..? On top of everything else going on..?

Shifting slightly over the spot, tightening her hold over the tape she held, she let out another sigh. It was going to be a long summer...

Arm lifting from her side, reaching out towards him, Octavia gave a gentle squeeze of her brother's shoulder, "..I'll be back- just going to get the door first." Turning away from him, she'd only made it a few steps down the stairs before she paused. Her body twisting on the spot so that she was able to look back up at him from where she was; Octavia held up her hand. Fingers uncurling slightly as she held the tape up for him to see, "..do you have any tape, by the way..? I'm almost out..."

Waiting only a few moments for a response, her gaze holding his, she could only hope that he understood that despite everything that happened earlier, everything between them was fine. Or, at least, she hoped it was. It was something they were going to have to face eventually. Though when either of them got over their pride enough to sit and confront what happened in a more civil manner, it was going to be difficult to tell. Until then however... was there a point in holding onto the anger that had gotten the better of them in the heat of the moment..? All in all, it was a work in progress for both of them. They were just currently at different stages of the process.

Curling her fingers over again, holding what little tape she had back into the palm of her hand, it was a few moments later that she was giving him her back and heading off down the stairs. Her free hand lifting, fingers dashing across her forehead in order to brush aside any stray strands of hair; Octavia reached out and clasped hold of the door handle once she'd reached it. And after pulling open the door of her cabin, it was the second time in simply a few moments that she stood frozen in place. The seam of her lips parting slightly, dark eyes widening as she stared at the figure waiting on the other side of it. He was-... W-What..?

"..Relus..?"

A @King Kindred &@Venus Collaboration
Featuring Zeru Williams & Fiamma Giannulli

Zeru left the Hades Cabin ready to face his next challenge: packing and unpacking the details of the quest with Fiamma. She had two things to worry about: his soul being lost and or his heart to Aphrodite. The latter seemed impossible to him, but the former gave him an ominous feeling considering their conversation earlier. He wasn't exactly worried about his soul, but he knew she'd ready deeply into the line.

Zee made the trek back to his cabin and walked up the steps. It was the third door he approached this morning, but the only one he didn't need to knock on to enter. He felt like a vampire needing permission to enter your abode. He walked inside his own and up the stairs to his room. He glanced at Levina's and wondered if he had time to tell her he was leaving too. He'd see after he finished packing. Everyone was likely waiting on him already anyway.

He turned away and continued to his room before opening it. "Hey you."

After her short reunion with Zeru and him leaving to speak to his cousin about the details of the quest, Fiamma had taken solace in the young man’s bedroom at the Zeus cabin. Although she wanted nothing more than to pretend her boyfriend wasn’t being sent off on a potentially life-threatening quest, she figured it was best to occupy herself doing something more productive than overthinking and moping around feeling sorry for her and Zee. Instead, the redhead busied herself with packing his belongings for the quest. It was the only way she could think of to be helpful in a situation like this. She’d been halfway done with neatly folding and packing the outfits she’d picked out for him into his travel backpack when the son of Zeus himself arrived in his bedroom once again.

“Hi, baby!” Fiamma cheerfully replied, ceasing her packing duties to approach her boyfriend, wrap her arms around him and give him a kiss. “How did the talk with Erin go? Did you find out the details about this whole quest thing?” As much as she hated to bring up the subject so soon, it was best to get the unpleasant conversation out of the way now so they could enjoy whatever time they had left-- if any. The girl pushed the unwelcome thought out of her mind as fast as it had come.

Zeru loved being greeted with a kiss and could really get used to more of that once they became public. His smile faded once she asked about the quest. It was time to put a pause on their moment of bliss and have the conversation neither of them really wanted. He knew Erin thought it best to withhold some information from Fiamma, but he just couldn't. There were no secrets between them. That wasn't how he wanted their relationship to be and he knew his girlfriend was strong enough to work out her feelings and trust him.

"Yeah… The talk with Erin went okay. I'm worried about her but I trust that she'll make it through this. But about the quest… Here's the prophecy. Six figures, tall, stand strong in the East... a land of Pisa, pasta, and much art none the least... while two might find love, one soul shall be taken... the Lady’s dove shall be found, but what vengeance will it awaken..?" He paused for a second. "So… that's it. I'll let you process it."

He was honestly worried how she'd react. Those two lines next to each other. He had to believe that she'd trust in his love for her and trust in his strength and will to survive and come home.

The more she heard about the details of the prophecy, the more visibly upset Fiamma became. The quest was sending six of her fellow demigods to Italy: that much was obvious, and not at all the source of her distress. What did upset her was the fact that her boyfriend was not only leaving her and risking the loss of his soul voluntarily, but that he was doing so in order to recuperate the most prized possession of the woman Fi knew he’d had his sights on for as long as she could remember…

And that really hurt.

“So it’s a quest for Aphrodite…” Fiamma said slowly, the words coming out as bitter as they felt in her mouth. She took a moment to step away from Zeru and perch herself on the edge of his bed. “And although the prophecy doesn’t explicitly say you’re the one who has to go, you’re choosing to go, because Erin couldn’t ask her brother or any other guy instead of you. Am I understanding this correctly?”

Zeru knew she wouldn't be happy and her face showed that before her words did. As soon as she mentioned Aphrodite he knew where her head was at. He didn't blame her for going there, but he wished that she hadn't. It was no secret to most of the camp that Zee had a crush on the goddess of love, but once he started dating Fi his feelings for the goddess became less something he wanted to pursue and instead was more of a celebrity crush.

"Not completely, no." Zeru said with a small sigh. "I'm actually not the only guy. Erin's the only one that isn't. We're like her bodyguards." He knew this was serious, but it was his attempt to lighten up the mood just a bit before he continued. "I'm choosing to go because my cousin needs my help and for the first time ever she said that to me. Right before she said because I can fly and we're going after a bird. But I just can't leave someone when they need me."

“And I understand that, Zee: I really do. But you can’t stand here and tell me you don’t have an ulterior motive for accepting the invitation to the quest other than to keep your cousin safe.”

As sympathetic as Fiamma usually was when it came to family, she simply couldn’t find it in her to see the situation through Zeru’s eyes at the moment. The green-eyed monster of jealousy and her many deep-rooted insecurities kept her prisoner in her own invisible cage. Any time her boyfriend’s biggest crush or his exes were brought into conversation, it was hard for the redhead to not compare herself to them and feel like she’d never come close to measuring up. What could she, a flimsy little daughter of Apollo, offer a guy who’d been with the likes of an Aphrodite daughter, a daughter of Iris, a handful of nymphs here and there, and who’d been drooling over the goddess of love herself for years?

Zeru couldn't lie to Fiamma and he couldn't lie to himself. He had two ulterior motives for this quest. One she likely surmised already. But it wasn't exactly the way that she thought. "You're right, Fi. Admittedly the first thought that entered my mind when I heard the announcement was how retrieving Aphrodite's dove would put me in her good graces, but it's not what you think. Do I still have a crush on her? Yes and I'm trying to get over it, but I do not love her."

“For now.” Fiamma stubbornly interjected, frowning at the floor beneath her feet. “The prophecy did say that ‘two will find love’. Maybe they’re talking about Aphrodite realizing you’re the one for her after returning her dove, the two of you falling in love, getting married, having babies and all of that good stuff. You never know.” The girl knew she was being ridiculous, but she couldn’t help herself.

Zeru shook his head, took Fiamma's hand in his and lifted her face with his other one so she could see him. He knew she had some insecurities that he didn't help with his past and he knew she was dramatic, but this was a new level even for her. It was kind of cute, but he decided to keep that to himself. "I do know. I'm only on this quest to find a bird and hopefully knock a few brain cells into Ares. I already found love in the one I want to marry, have babies, and do all of that good stuff with. I don't need to search for it anywhere else."

“Maybe another, better love will find you," the girl insisted, pouting and averting her gaze away from Zeru's. Fiamma knew he was talking about her, but she refused to let it get to her head even if his words made her feel all warm and happy inside.

Zeru shook his head and laughed. "There is no better love, my stubborn little goddess. You know that. Now kiss me so you can remember it."

Although she was still pouting, Fiamma knew Zeru was speaking to her with full honesty. In all the months they had been dating, the young man had never given her any reason to doubt him or their relationship. He had been kind, patient, faithful, and reassuring, proving time and time again that he had eyes for nobody else but her. No matter how insecure she could be sometimes, Fi just needed to learn to see her worth and trust her boyfriend. And if there were any more doubts or questions, then this quest would be the perfect opportunity to put the unwelcome feelings to rest once and for all.

The redhead let out a long, defeated sigh. Fine…” she mumbled, puckering up her cherry-tinted lips to give Zeru’s a fleeting kiss. “There. Happy?” Fi asked him, the ghost of a faint smile playing in the corners of her lips. She knew full well that her boyfriend wouldn’t settle for this brief, tiny kiss.

Zee knew she was teasing him. But he also knew she wanted a real kiss more than he did. "Happy? I'm insulted." He wrapped his arms around her waist and pulled her closer to him with one strong gentle pull. His chest was pressed against hers and as she wrapped her slender arms around him, she could both feel and hear the beat of his adoring heart. They stared into each other’s eyes for a moment-- chocolate brown with ice blue--, until Zeru leaned in to give her a very passionate kiss. He was putting all his love for her behind it so she could feel the full extent of his feelings for her. As he did so he was reminded of a song his mother used to play around the house and for the first time ever he understood the words.

Does he love her?
She wants to know.
How can she tell if he loves her so?
Well, it's in his kiss.

And for the rest of the night, Zeru made certain to show his girlfriend exactly how much he loved her so.

Location Camp Half-Blood Infirmary
Interactions Kalinda @MarshiestMallow, Zane @Theyra

If she was being honest, Vivian felt she was more along for the ride as Zane and her sister talked about what they were going to pack for Erin and those who were going to help her. And she made peace with that - kind of.

On some level, the Daughter of Apollo felt a certain annoyance about her visions. She knew she wasn't the strongest. She knew this and often accepted it because being physically strong wasn’t her forte. She wasn’t going to win any obstacle event or game at the tower. She wasn’t going to be the hero of a great story as the underdog that overcame the odds. She had long accepted this, but it still annoyed her to no end when she couldn’t even stay conscious shortly after having one of her ill-timed visions.

A few moments after she allowed herself to get lost in her thoughts, she heard her name from Zane’s lips and the very sound of his deep bravado made every bit inside her tremble.

God damn his voice is hot! She thought, feeling herself getting warm as she met his eyes, those emerald gems of pure handsomeness.

To save herself from any embarrassment, Vivian pulled herself out of her simping pool just in time to hear her name, among others, being called out on the loudspeaker. She knew it was Mr. D’s voice who had called hers. A few names belonged to her friends, like Grayson, but then as she heard Zane’s being heard, she gulped.

"Wonder what he could possibly want with me?"

And then the sudden urgency in Mr. D’s voice, that scary, intimidating urgency he was sometimes known for, send shivers down Vivian’s spine.

It was enough to get her right up to her feet, blood rushing to her head and causing her to stagger for a few seconds.“Whoa,” she said, shaking her head and she no longer felt dizzy.

“I guess that packing will have to wait!” She cheerfully stated, going past Zane with a bright smile on her face. “Sorry, Kali. Hope you can handle it without us. Seems we are needed elsewhere!”

Yeah, as if Vivian has any idea why she and Mr. Defined Jawline are needed at Mr. D’s office.

Dorian Underwood & Lukas Cresswell

— ۵ ۞ ۵ —

Location: Outside the Big House; Camp Half-Blood

Dorian sat on the edge of his bed still not having bothered to unpack after his conversation with Erin. He still had a few things scattered on his bed. He had really just been lost in thought and worry for the others.

The sound of the of the camp's intercom jerked him out of his mind and into the real world. "Alright you lazy blighters. Now. Might be an immortal, but I'm not going to waste my existence waiting on you lot."

What would Mr. D want with him? It wasn't until he called on the Satyr Sawyer that Dorian came to the realization that he was being sent on a quest, but not just any quest. The beginning of summer typically brought many new claimed demigods to the camp. Some who unfortunately had to run away from monsters who suddenly uprooted their lives. But why were so many campers going this time? He was sure he'd find the answers to his questions in Mr. D's office.

Dorian stretched before hopping off the bed. He walked towards the door and reached for the knob before pausing. He wanted to shadow travel, but he remembered Mr. D's warning from the last time he made an impromptu travel to his office about how he'd turn the water inside his body into Diet Coke if he ever did it again. He shuddered at having to remember the thought. He decided against shadow traveling outside the Big House since the last time he did Erin ran straight into him. Walking it was. What a drag. He finally opened the door and headed straight down the stairs to leave his cabin.

He didn't remember the walk ever being this long before. Did they add more cabins since the last time he was here?

Lukas began to restack the i-pads in his arms when he heard the announcement. His eyes nearly bugged out when he heard one particular name and he smiled politely to Mikhael and Elias. ”Ah, uh. Pardon me, sorry I couldn’t help you more Elias! Feel free to look around, BYE!” He then rushed into his office, placed the i-pads down, ran back out and put a Healer in charge while he was gone and then -sprinted- out of the Infirmary full tilt.

What did Mr. D want with Dorian? A quest? Maybe escorting a new half-blood? Maybe it was the ‘big one’ that kept being discussed or the one he had been warned about for medical supplies. Regardless, it didn’t matter, Lukas just had to make sure he saw Dorian before he went into the big house. Immediately Lukas wanted to try an intercept-course based on the distance between the Thanatos cabin and the Big House but then he remembered that Dorian was actually quite talented at Shadow Travel and would probably just head over.

This caused the Son of Apollo to flounder like a fish out of water as he rapidly changed direction and almost ran over a Satyr. ”Sorry!” Lukas yelled out as he headed for the Big House. There was no logic to why he was sprinting so fast or really why to meet Dorian before Mr. D did, but something was telling him that he needed to go and talk with the Child of Death who happened to be the only person in Camp that could truly make his heart do back-flips. Sure there were a few other crushes but Dorian was different, if only Lukas could get up the self-confidence to actually TELL the dark-haired boy how he felt.

Finally, Lukas made it to the Big House and stood panting like a racehorse after pulling the Chariots and looking very un-Lukas like.

Dorian arrived at his destination to see someone he hadn't seen for almost a full year. Lukas, the Golden Boy, Cresswell. But he wasn't looking so golden at the moment. He looked like he just had the race of his life and one he wasn't entirely prepared for. But Dorian wondered what he was doing there. He went over the names called over the intercom and Lukas wasn't one of them.

He walked over to his panting friend and eyed him curiously with a hint of concern. "Hey, Luke. You okay? What're you doing panting outside the Big House?"

With head turning from left to right Lukas attempted to see where Dorian was coming from and both eyebrows raised as Dorian came walking up from the main path and the blonde sighed, eyes now rolling. ”Of course this time you decide to walk like a regular demi-god.” He shook his head, and then giggled. ”Oh right, uh… I heard your name being listed for a quest and I was just… Well, it sounds weird but I just felt like I should see you, that you might need me? It was weird?” Lukas realized that he sounded a bit insane, and perhaps he really was, but he shrugged and looked up at the house.

”I got a warning note to prepare for a large quest and Zane, Kalinda, and a few others are getting supplies for it. But I thought that one had already been prepped. Is this one a new one?” It was probable that Dorian had absolutely no idea, but once again Lukas could only speak on his instinct and gut feeling that he should be right here, right now. ”Oh… And it’s really good to see you, I missed you over the break. It was said matter-of-factly but Lukas couldn’t help the soft tint of pink that flared into his cheeks and so the Son of Apollo looked down to try and hide it.

Dorian laughed at Lukas's joke about walking like a normal demigod and awkwardly rubbed the back of his neck. It was weird for him too. At least within the borders of camp. "It's not weird. It could just be your Apolloan instincts." He said with a smile, but his smile faded at the mention of a large quest. If it was for something that he had already been made aware of it was likely Erin's quest. He felt a sudden pain in his chest where he was sure his heart was. "I missed you too. The real world just doesn't feel right without my two best friends. Speaking off…" He looked down anxiously before looking back up. Bringing up Erin's quest was painful for him, but it was something he had to face. "The quest you're thinking of may be Erin's. She's going to Rome to search for Aphrodite's dove. Which she's been accused of stealing."

The mix of emotions that ran across his face was rapid and sudden. Surprise, shock, disbelief, sorrow, determination, frustration. It was all there for at least a second before Lukas just shook his head and peered at the boy in front of him. ”Erin… Steal, but why would they think…” He sighs and just shakes his head. ”I have to find her too before she leaves but Dorian are you?” There was a bit of hesitation as he sensed the pain when the dark-haired boy had to talk about the quest. So instead, something came over the blonde and he pulled Dorian into a hug and squeezed tightly. “We’ll get through this.” His brain then caught up with his thoughtless action and his pink cheeks turned a much darker shade of pink. ”Er… Sorry.” He coughed and took a step back that may not have helped depending on how much of an invasion the hug was perceived as.

Dorian was caught off guard by Lukas' hug but it was honestly much needed. It was similar yet different to the hug he received from Erin, but with that one he had to be the strong one and comfort his friend who was facing a nightmarish fate while breaking the news to him that he couldn't be there to help her. But here he was the one being comforted. His best friend and his new brother were going on a quest where someone's soul could be taken. Quests were already dangerous enough with monsters attacking them everywhere they went, but taken souls weren't so easily turned and he hoped so badly that nothing would happen to them. Any of them. But once Lukas hugged him for a moment he forgot all about his fears. In that moment there were no doomed futures, his friends were safe and they were home. He was home.

Reality resumed when Lukas let go and stepped back. "No, it's okay. I… I actually really needed that. Thank you. I'm okay as I can be I guess. It's hard. I'm worried crazy about her and them, but I have to be strong, you know? Because if I'm not how can I expect her to be? But maybe this new quest for Mr. D will help me get my minds off things." Dorian realized he was starting to ramble and stopped himself. Was Spencer rubbing off on him already?

Lukas brightened when Dorian seemed to accept the hug and not pull away and Lukas made sure to fight down the butterflies that seemed to appear out of nowhere. ”Er, glad I could help. But Dorian, that means you’re going on a quest as well? How am I supposed to keep you company with Erin gone if you go off and leave me too eh?” His tone turned playful but Dorian knew him enough to know that Lukas was quite concerned. ”I mean, I guess these are some large groups so that’s good, but then again the more of you out there the more monsters migh…” He trailed off and then just hugged Dorian again. ”Ok, you go and get briefed. Come by my cabin when you’re done, I have something I have to tell you before you go, ok?”

Dorian was starting to feel how Erin felt when she had to leave him behind. Lukas was concerned for his safety on the quest and for his emotional well-being. It showed in his words and his hugs and he appreciated him a lot for it.

"Okay, actually I'll stop by after I finish re-packing. That way I'm ready when they need me." He then turned to face the Big House, "Here goes nothing." walking forward into an uncertain future, but as he did so he started to wonder what Lukas had to tell him so urgently that he had to run all the way here for.

With a deep swallow, Lukas could only nod his head dumbly as Dorian mentioned coming after re-packing. He had a few questions about that but decided now wasn’t the time. He stood silently as the Son of Thanatos headed to the Big House door and Lukas took a deep breath inward. Now he only had to figure out how to tell his best friend that he not only liked him, but like, liked him. Groaning, the teen backed up a few steps, turned, and ran off to his cabin, music would help.

Jamie shifted to lay a hand on the horses neck, keeping her calm as Alina approached, taking one of the bones. "Nah, not a god send. I'm just good at getting into places I shouldn't." She said with amusement, "And sure, I always appreciate help with any heist. I'm sure Tyler would have some opinions on it- and probably be annoyed he didn't think of it first." Jamie said with a laugh.

It was good to be home- and more, it was good to be with people that understand. Jamie always felt a little out of place in the outside world, but here... well, things were different. Oh, Jamie was still an oddity, but they were an oddity in amongst other oddities.

"You don't owe me anything- except perhaps bail money if I ever get myself caught." Jamie responded, although Jamie tried to make it clear that they were joking. "It's what we do here, right? Trade things. Don't need to expect anything for doing what I enjoy- stealing things. Besides, you're always good for information."

Kalinda stopped what she was doing for a moment, knowing she wasn't making things easier. Zane... Viv... She needed to at least make it seem like she was confident in this, that she believes things would be alright. She had to be better then she was, if only for her siblings sake, her patients. Her friends. "Zane." She said softly, turning to face the boy her sister was just about drooling over- although she doubted Zane would know that. "Never underestimate the power medical supplies can have. They might not be able to stop, to get supplies themselves. But beyond that... it will show Erin and whoever goes with her that we aren't going to let them face it alone."

She shifted, reaching out to grab some bandages, rolling them up skillfully and quickly, having spent quite a few hours of her life doing so. "Even if we can't be with them, can't help anymore then just making some supplies for them, it will show that we are on their side. That, as was so eloquently put, this whole thing is bullshit but that if everything goes bad, we won't let the Gods have Erin."

Shoving the bandages none too gently into the pack nearest her, Kalinda had to take a moment to stop the anger rising inside of her. "The Gods are fucking bastards, and we aren't going to let them fuck with one of us and get away with it. So, we make these packs, not just for the hope they will help, but to show that the Gods can't fuck with us and expect us to take it laying down."

Suddenly her anger fizzled as her sister was called to go to Dioynsus, and she turned towards her, the anger replaced by a sudden fear. What was happening now? "Viv... " What could she say though, don't go? "I... "

He should just leave, before she realised someone was there. He should turn away, and scurry to his room, hide out there... It wasn't the best idea, as one of them- Elias or Octavia herself would find cause to come in there. He started to turn- perhaps he could sneak out the window- when her door opened. It was too late to flee, to get away. Talon gritted his teeth, looking away.

And anger grew anew in his chest, threatening to overwhelm him once more. She could have easily ignored the door. But no, she wanted to draw this out, make it even more of a thing then it was. She wouldn't simply let it be over and down with. His fists clenching once more, finger nails digging painfully into his palms- She didn't even give him a chance to respond, already walking away as if nothing was wrong, as if she was over it.

The jar of salve slipped through his fingers, falling to the floor, as he rather deliberately unclenched his hands. She wanted to be this way, so be it. He had tried, she had taken the first chance to escape she could. He turned, storming towards his bed room and slamming the door shut with enough force it rattled the frame.

He flicked a glance to the snake in its enclosure, and went to check on her, making sure she had all she needed before he turned to his bed, flopping down on it and staring up at the ceiling. He'd been feeling better... he'd been doing better... and now it seemed that those few moments of peace he'd attained from helping Valeria skip rocks, letting her heal him... it was gone and Talon just felt the familiar churning of emotions- anger prominent- within.

Why couldn't she have just let him do what he needed to?

Big House | Camp-Halfblood
Imani

Imani's cooking had become one of the few things he truly cherished in this place. It was different from the foods made in the cafeteria kitchens or any foods outside the camp. Food in Cork had been bland, tasteless, and cold. In Los Angeles, it had been too hot that burned his tongue. Imani's cooking was anything but that. She treated it almost like an art, the way she'd always cut the vegetables with such precision or how she sprinkled the seasoning over the food. Watching her made him wonder how they could be related in the slightest.

The drunken haze had crawled back to the edges of his mind, the numbing feeling that came with it now gone. So when Kyrin heard his name being called among a few others over the speaker system, he blinked, unsure he had really heard his name. Why would Dionysus be calling his name? He hadn't been the only one being called, so it couldn't be something bad, right?

It ate at him like ember on paper as he gathered himself. It took him a minute or two of running his hands through the bleached blonde hair. His roots were growing out, the dark hair peeking out, making him look unkempt and messy. He should just dye it back to black, less effort to maintain. But dying it back would mean he'd look like him.

Kyrin stared at his reflection. Maybe it wouldn't be such a bad idea...

Kyring Nahng he could hear Mr.D's voice again in his mind.

A shake of his head and another comb through his hair, his attention was brought back to the task at hand. Dionysus was looking for him, and quickly. As much as he didn't want to make his way back up to the Big House, he knew keeping the God of Wine waiting wasn't a good idea.

"I'll see you later, Ani." Kyrin waved to her as he walked out of their cabin, hands buried in his pockets.

Mess Hall | Camp-Halfblood
Maki - @Metztli

"Something like that."

Valeria pushed a gooey peach around the pie tray, her eyes staring down at it. She hadn't been distracted, just preoccupied. Her interaction with Talon wasn't leaving her mind, and as much as she wanted to hear Maki explain their ability to her, she just wouldn't be able to pay attention. All she could think about was that face, the clenched jaw and fists, the way he looked at her when she smiled like nothing. The way he had reacted after Brynn's interaction, the way she had felt all those old scars.

She could still feel them. Her magic had been able to pick out the newest scars, but at the same time, she was able to see the older ones. The ones that had healed over long periods without care. Without a gentle hand.

At that moment, Valeria had wanted to comfort the boy. Ask him if he could take all of those old scars away. She was glad she didn't; it would have probably upset Talon further. It wasn't the right thing to do, not after he had taught her how to skip rocks. Her father would say that she'd be out of line. She didn't know Talon well enough.

But she was just trying to be nice to him.

"I learned to skip rocks," Valeria smiled, looking at Maki now. "It was nice; I didn't get the hang of it first, but after some practice, I got it!" She took her spoon, bring it up in front of her face. The pie forgotten now.

"First, you have to find the right rock- or pebble. Smooth and kind of heavy." She pulled her arm back and twisted her torso a bit, "Then you go like this and throw it! But you have to be careful because if you do it with too much force, you'll just throw the pebble." A grin and a throw of an imaginary pebble before she sat back down in front of Maki.

"So, tell me now, how'd you get the pie?"

______________________________________________________________________________________

The air was heavy with the smell of Juniper, clean, woody, spicy, and slightly reminiscent of balsamic vinegar. The thin line of smoke that rose from the burning stick flowed straight up past the various hanging plants and to the ceiling above. There were piles upon piles of books scattered all around the room. There were several history and magic books wide open on top of the pile, along with a few linguistics and ASL books thrown in there. Various torn-up pieces of paper thrown about around the floor. Somewhere ripped in half, others crumbled into a ball, and a few were laid out carefully over the messy bed with red circles and tiny notes written with haste. At the center of the room, the small glass table had been pushed against the wall, and the room was covered with various crystals and bowls containing spices, herbs, and random trinkets. Some components didn't have a special container at all. Vanilla and cinnamon sticks were piled up against another small pile of mugwort.

It was a mess. Chaos.

Amongst the mess, Tatiana sat cross-legged in front of the laid-out bowls in the center of the room. Her hair tied up in a bun above her head, with few loose curls resting against her forehead. Red ink stained the tips of her fingers as she held a Juniper stick in hand as she said a small prayer to her mother, lips barely moving and eyes closed. She had just finished cleansing her room, getting rid of any negative energy that may have slithered its way into it. The action had become a ritual the past year since she came to camp.

It reminded her of her home back in Santa Barbara, of her grandmother's own rituals, of her father's altar, and of the warmth that came with all of it. The past year had hit her hard; after the incident back home, Tatiana had become more reserved and closed off to people around her. She still smiled and tried her best to make friends with others, and some she did consider friends, but few barely took the time to know her.

They didn't know that Tatiana's favorite smell was that of wet clay and her grandmother's chamomile with sunflower honey or that her favorite thing to do was sneak off to the forest or Half-Blood Hill just before dawn. It was mostly her own fault; Tatiana tended to deflect those types of conversations, always putting up a smile and giving half-truths to people who'd call her a friend.

"Rest my child, when you wake up you'll be alright."

Those words, Tatiana could still hear them as clear as day. They kept repeating in her head like a broken record as she put out the Juniper stick and began to draw out a circle with charcoal. The runes came to her so easily; it was like breathing to her now. She drew out the crossroads rune in the middle, surrounded by other smaller runes, protection, peace, and the elements. She stared down at the crossroads, wondering if that was what her mother had intended when she was left here.

Tatiana was afraid. Afraid to move on and forget everything she had left back in California.

"... you'll be alright."

She wanted to believe, and so far, she was. She was fine. She had a roof over her head, three meals a day, and a new family that Tatiana never thought she'd have again. It just didn't feel her's. It all felt too alien, and the only thing that felt right was right before her.

She took one of the empty vials, one of the many she had "borrowed" from Valeria and Zane, and placed it within the circle. Lighter in hand, she lit one of the small black candles and let it burn for a second before putting the vial over it, letting the smoke fill it before adding black salt, frankincense, amethyst crystals, rosemary, black obsidian, and finally lavender.

Light blue swirls, the color of a misty morning before the sunrise, slipped from her fingers and into the vial. Her magic wrapped itself into the crystals, the rosemary, and lavender. Tatiana closed the vial and let the black wax drip over the cork until it was sealed properly. Then it was done. Tatiana said another small prayer, her eyes closed and voice above a whisper before wiping the runes with an old rag. The crossroads stared at her before she wiped it clean, gathered up the components, and placed the protection spell by the small altar next to her bed.

"I'll be alright." Tatiana repeated to herself. She pulled her hair out of the bun, letting her curls fall over her shoulders, before turning around and heading out of her room. She quietly crossed the bottom floor of the cabin, wondering where the rest of her siblings were as she exited the building.

Location Camp Half-Blood Infirmary
Interactions Kalinda @MarshiestMallow, Zane @Theyra

To someone like Vivian, the sudden shift in Kalinda's face that had traces of anger (rightly so, too) to what she was surmising as mild fear, she couldn't help but frown at her sister. And she understood why her sweet sister who had always been so worried about her since the California Valley Girl came to Camp Half-Blood. Vivian's first impression of her sister had always been one of love and admiration. So there was no doubt in her mind that, when she heard Dionysus call Viv and Zane's name (though more at Viv's name, of course), she became worried. Or maybe Viv was reaching.

But the fact remained that Kalinda's energy changed and she instinctively grabbed her sister's hand, squeezing it. As she turned her frown upside down into a comforting smile that mirrored the action of her hand, she began to speak. "Don't worry! I mean, he probably just needs me for something non-quest related, right? I'm sure it'll be okay!" Though she spoke with confidence on the outside, inside Vivian wasn't so sure. All of those names that were called, Viv being one of them made her think they needed a healer for something. Or again, maybe she was stretching herself into believing something that wasn't there. "Or whatever it is, uh.."

Vivian drifted her SoCal, ocean-at-sunset gaze to Zane, already feeling her body getting hot and cheeks flushing when she met him at his jaw and immediately went further north to his eyes. "Zane is coming too. I'll be fine. Promise!"

"Yeah, Kalinda," Zane stopped mid-packing the pack and turned around. Back leaning against the table, "I am sure if it is nothing. But," his tone shifting to being serious. "If it is something important, then you have my word that I will take care of Vivian." Trying to reassure Kalinda, despite being wary about being called by Dionysus. If he, Vivian, and several others were called at once, it made him think what that could mean. Since there is already the situation with Erin and Zane would like things not to get worse. If they can somehow, which he does not want to think about. Also, seeing Kalinda mad at him is a minor motivation for keeping Vivian safe. He just saw how she felt about the gods and does not want that directed at him.

Still, if something else is up, he is not going to shy from it. The demi-gods need to support each other right now, seeing how one of them has been accused by a god for something she clearly did not do. That is the least they can do, and Zane may not be particularly close to Kalinda or Vivian but, he will still look out for them if needed. Zane did not train to be a better fighter to just for himself. He wants to protect people, more so if they are family. Which he is rather glad that none of his siblings were called up. They would be safe at camp, and he would not have to worry. That and he would rather watch only one person at a time if possible. Just easier for him that way.

Slapping the sides of the table with his hands as he stopped leaning against the table and look at Vivian. Not noticing how she was looking at him. "Now Vivian, we should get going. If I know Dionysus is that he does not late campers." Having said that, Zane gave a short wave goodbye to Kalinda and tried to give a reassuring look to Kalinda. "She will be safe, I promise," and then walked out of the infirmary towards the Big House. Though he would look behind to see if Vivian was following him.

Competitions were not Kareem's cup of tea. Early in the morning, he had made his way to the beach while most of the camp went over to the arena to watch the competition. Kareem had a few secret plants to care for and make sure no pests bothered his babies. After an hour or so of caring for the tall plants, singing them songs, and babying them, he finally made his way back to the camp. It was his turn to water the plants and make sure they were properly fertilized for the next few weeks.

Summer was Kareem's second favorite season, after Spring, of course. The sun was always high up in the sky, warming up the greenhouse, helping the plants grow and the fruit trees come to mature. He'd spend most of his time picking apples, plums, and peaches off the trees. They made great presents for all of his friends and some great jam. He couldn't wait to make peach jam, Gods, Karem was craving some right now. Spread over some warm toast. His stomach grumbled, demanding some food as he made his way into the fields.

"Yo, Kat!" Kareem called out, his hand over his eyebrows to shield his eyes from the bearing sun. "Anyone?" He looked around, eyes grazing over the various crops they had planted months ago.

Even she wasn't sure if it was a blessing, or a curse - an unforeseen side-effect that her older half-brother, Pollix, had conveniently decided to leave out of his little explanation when he'd come to collect her from the asylum four years ago. Oh no; it wasn't until she'd found the thing standing over her bed, creeping on her in the early hours of the morning, that'd fully come to realize just what the hell was going on. Funnily enough, it was the same fucking Satyr that was following after her now; though after years of putting up with it, Katherine couldn't exactly deny that she might have a soft-spot for the goat-boy.

Hand running over her face both in exasperation and amusement, Kate's gaze lingered on the Satyr in front of her. So she might not have understood it past the idea that she was some kind of a lure; but even still, it never ceased to amaze her at just how quickly they and the Maenads seemed to find her- how they seemed to know exactly where she was at almost every minute of the day, and hell, even at night. That had certainly led to some interesting conversations... both with the party she was sleeping with, and the mythical being. Seriously. After the first few times, ground rules just had to be set. They were kinda like the Apollo kids, except the difference was, the Satyr's weren't trying make sure she kept shoving the all magical pills down her throat. Chuckling softly, shoving the thought from her mind, Katherine shook her head lightly. The smile plastered over her features never once fading as she spoke with her friend, "Sawyer... dude... how long have you been following me this time..?"

The sound of her name being called; it didn't escape her. Though instead of answering, Kate rose her hand up into the air; fingers wiggling, giving spirit-finger vibes as she signaled her location among the many rows of plants surrounding them.

The young Satyr had been soaking up the rays of the sun beaming down on him in the middle of the field, having decided to take a moment and enjoy the light breeze that ran through his hair. A light smile playing at the edges of the boy's mouth, he nearly jumped out of his fur when his name was called but quickly whipped around to it, nonetheless. His eyes widened a bit with curiosity as the Dionysus child spoke to him, smiling sheepishly (or is it 'goatly' in this situation?), running a hand through his hair with a soft chuckle.

"Sorry, Miss Katherine. I-I just figured I'd stick around in case you might have needed something." He didn't figure on answering her question directly, as he wasn't exactly hard to miss and she had the ability to use her two eyes. He knew she was aware of just how long he had been standing there. Sawyer was a bit embarrassed to admit just how long he had been standing there, clearing his throat nervously as he rubbed the back of his head equally so, attention drawing to Hareem.... Wait... Hareem? ...Kareem..? ..Kareem. Sometimes he forgot names, but never forgot a face. He smiled genuinely at the young man, grateful for the distraction from the short conversation.

"Oh-- he-hey man! How goes it?"

Spotting the raised hand in the air, Kareem approached Katherine's location. A yawn escaped his lips as he almost bumped into the Satyr. "Oh, shit man, didn't see you there, dude." He could feel his eyes growing heavy, but something about the way Sawyer looked like he had just been caught red-handed caused a few giggles to slip past his lips. His eyes shifted to Katherine, to Sawyer, then back at Katherine. Something had definitely happened before Kareem showed up.

"Anyway," He was too hungry and sleepy to really care about it, "Kat, I... uh..." He blinked, staring at Katherine for a second before shaking his head. "Forgot." He continued to stare at her trying to think back to what he was going to ask her. Something about water and plants: Kareem looked around them, trying to figure out what he had forgotten. Another second later, he turned to the both and shrugged.

Wait. "Oh! I need a hand, literally-" He waved his left stump at them, giggling to himself at his own joke. "to help me turn on the hose."

Sawyer smiled sheepishly as Kareem's eyes flipped back and forth between the two before him, his right leg lifting to scratch nervously at the back of his left calf. The young satyr stood on the sidelines of the conversation, doing his best to not interrupt them at all. Once Kareem had finished speaking, the boy offered a small bleat of a laugh.

"A hand, that's funny," he mumbled to himself, looking over at Kate. Silently offering his assistance, knowing full-well that she knew he was always willing to help out in any way he could, he scratched behind his ear lightly and smiled over at Kareem. "Time to water the babes, is it?"

"More like time to pick up the slack."

The stupid smirk creeping out over her features, Katherine's arms folded over the front of her chest, though she otherwise remained relaxed. Open and inviting- just as she always was. At least on most occasions she was anyway. Shaking her head lightly, though not really in response to either question that was posed to her; it was only a few moments later that her arms fell away from her chest. Hands making it into her pockets as she began to wander in the direction of the closest tap, "It's actually meant to be Aspen's turn to water the crops; but he pissed off home to visit his family. So we're short handed."

Pausing a moment, both in her words and her steps, Kate glanced back at the both of them. Her eyes settling on Kareem as she gave him a sheepish grin, "No offence, dude."

"Okay, it feels like I am missing something here, and no, it is not my hand," Kareem rolled his eyes at Katherine's comment, tempted to mess with her but passed up the occasion to glance at them both. Something smelled iffy, like he had just walked in on something, and he couldn't quite place it. Kareem continued to eye them both for another moment before his interest was lost and his mind went back to the crops. "Uh-huh, well if you two are done, the babes really do need water. I can hear them calling my name." He leaned down to take one of the leaves from a nearby plant to caress it between his thumb and index fingers.

"Kareem! Kareem! Water us! Aspen left last minute and we're dying! Kat and Sawyer are just standing around watching us dry!" His voice was at a high pitch as he talked for the plants, a smile spreading over his features before he let out a giggle. It took him a minute to compose himself, not that he tried to, but Kareem really was worried for the poor plants. He cleared his throat as he straightened out turning to look at Sawyer then Katherine. "Anyway, we should get Grayson or Imogen to help us, imagine how fast they would water the crops." He followed Katherine to collect the hose.

"Bruh..." Pausing again, her hands having made it into her pocket at some point, Katherine twisted her body around enough that she was able to stare back at Kareen with what could only be described as a stupid grin gracing her features. Giving both him and Sawyer a chance to catch up to her before starting off again. This time keeping pace with them both rather than walking ahead like she had been, "..could you imagine..? We have to get them out here one day so we can try it."

Sometime between the time the two demi-gods had been talking, the satyr had gotten himself distracted watching a butterfly fly off through the field. It wasn't until he heard the voices starting to trail away that his attention was finally pulled back, hurriedly skipping along to catch up to the pair. The satyr scratched at his head sheepishly, nodding in agreement.

"I can imagine it, but seeing it would be something!"

"Terrifying too, but it would make our lives a lot easier." Kareem walked over to the hose to pick it up from its place. He tucked the end of the hose under his armpit as he used his other hand to unravel the rest of it. Aspen really had done a mess with the hose; he'd have to stay overtime in the gardens and fields to make sure everything was properly taken care of. Kareem didn't mind.

When he was done with the hose, he took the end and walked over to the first row of potted plants that needed the most water. "All ready over here!"

"Water on..!" Calling it out of habit; Katherine opened up the valve. Able to feel it as the water began to flow through the tap. The hose becoming taught as it shot through it, causing it to further unravel as water traveled through and to the nozzle that Kareem was currently in possession of. Watching as the spray shot out over the plants at a decent pressure; it was a few moments longer that she finally stood herself up straight again, "Try not to overfeed the babies too much. We don't want them complaining of a stomach ache at three in the morning..!"

"Of course, I don't want any nasty root rot." Kareem replied, looking over his shoulder towards Katherine before looking back at the plants. "Think I got it from here, Kat. You should go finish whatever you were doing with Sawyer." He moved the hose over to the ferns before glancing over to the satyr with suspicion. Kareem was still convinced he had walked into something iffy going on between the two.

Kareem could always use vines and make himself a nice temporary arm while he did the rest of the watering. He wanted to propagate some more plants from the greenhouse, something he could easily handle. Some of the string of hearts were also getting burned, and they'd have to be moved to a more shaded area, and some of the indoor ferns needed some trimming.

"I'll holler if I need some help,"

How many demi-gods (and a satyr) does it take to water some plants? ...just the two demi-gods. So Sawyer stood off to the side watching the two do their thing, partially zoned out until he heard Kareem talking again, shaking his head. Whatever you were doing. The satyr made a face, thinking back on how awkwardly Kareem had approached them before thinking he'd interrupted something. Hopefully he didn't think something provocative had been going on prior.

Sawyer smiled sheepishly, giving Kareem a friendly wave. "Cya later, dude. I'll go see if I can't find Grey and set something up later this week with him and Immy." Turning to face Kate, he scratched behind his ear gently, offering a small smile. "Alright, Miss Katherine. I might be fixin' on heading off, too, unless you need help with anything..?"

"Aye aye, Cap'n."

Arm raising from her side, Katherine gave her friend a two-fingered salute. Choosing to bypass the mention of going back to whatever it was she'd been doing with Sawyer before having been approached. Truthfully, she hadn't been doing anything; let alone doing anything with the satyr. Not that she wouldn't. Sawyer was a great guy. A slight frown crossed her lips as her mind seemed to pause. Lingering on that thought. Guy..? Goat-guy..? Either way, he was friend, and that was all that mattered.

Her gaze following Sawyer as he said his goodbye and turned towards her, Kate opened her mouth. Though before she managed to form so much as a syllable, her father's voice rang out over the fields from the tall posts that had been stationed through the crops. Causing her to lift her head towards the one closest to them as she listened to what was being said. One... two... five... eight... ten. Ten names. Including Sawyer. Well, that wasn't something that happened every other day. Either they were in some real serious trouble, or there was something big that was going down. Along with what was happening already, of course. Turning back to Sawyer once the announcement was over, or, at least seemed to be, Kate slipped her hands into her pockets. A smile returning to her features as she gave him a nod.

"Welp... looks like your up, horns. Might want to do yourself a favor before you head off though... Unless I got my dates wrong, a certain someone with green hair should be getting back today..." Shooting him a wink, her smile growing slightly- morphing instead into a small smirk, Katherine held his gaze for a few brief moments longer before a stray thought had her turning back to Kareem. Her feet already carrying her backwards, "Oh..! By the way... party at mine later. Catch you there." Making sure the son of Demeter had heard her, Kate shot another quick glance over at Sawyer before turning away from the both of them. Heading back the way she'd first come.

Saywer jumped slightly at the sound of Mr. D's voice over the speakers, his head angling up to look up to where the god's voice was coming from. He stared quietly, listening to what he had to say. When his name was called out, Sawyer's eyes widened a bit. Only thing Mr. D ever called him out like that was for a quest. A soft, defeated sigh passed through the satyr's lips then.

Kate's voice quickly snagged his attention, pulling his eyes away from the speaker he'd been zoned out on a few moments after Mr. D's voice had faded away. Mention of Kep brought a bit of color to the satyr's face, causing the young boy to shift slightly on the spot. Sawyer's mouth fell open in an attempt to make a reply but the effort was for nothing. The words caught in his throat, the boy swallowed hard and shut his mouth as his eyes followed Kate's. The offer of a party was so inviting. He wished he'd have time to join them, but knowing what he was about to walk into, the partying would have to wait till after he got back from whatever quest it was he was about to be thrown into.

By the time Sawyer turned back, Kate was already walking off in the direction they'd come from. The satyr chewed on his lip a moment before muttering to himself as he pushed his way up towards the Big House, "No, that's okay. I'm busy anyway, Miss Katherine. Gonna have to miss your big awesome party cause your dad needs me more than I need a drink, apparently. It's all good--"

As much as Sawyer wanted to go and find Kep, there was no way he was going to be the one to arrive last to The Big House. He'd never hear the end of it from Mr. D. Picking his pace up into a trot, the satyr waved off a couple of friendly campers as he headed up to hear what his next assignment would be. Life of a satyr was never dull here at the camp, that's for sure.

Imogen decided that it would probably be best to leave, before she somehow got roped into something else. She wasn't even entirely sure how she had managed to stumble upon a new camper, and a son of Zeus at that. What weird twists of fate. She still couldn't help but feel guilty dumping him on Chiron, but what was she actually meant to do with him? Most campers that made their way here generally had a Satyr who found them, or were retreived via a quest. Some did make their way here by fates, but Imogen had never had that happen to her. Well, it wasn't her problem now.

Making her way from the training grounds, Imogen turned her thoughts to what had happened. What the fuck was going on? Imogen didn't really like the sounds of what was happening, it was like things were repeating agian. She sighed softly, thoughts turning to Greyson. She had no doubt that he would try to go with Erin, if Erin would have him on the quest. She wondered if she ought to offer some help- but other then encouraging the Peaguses to help out, there wasn't much she could do. Deep in her thoughts, Imogen let her gaze move to the stables.

She hated being left behind, not knowing what was going on. But this wasn't any normal quest- none of them could screw it up. So, she'd do the best she could here. That decided, Imogen went to turn towards the mess hall, and instead found herself crashing into something solid, her body having worked on autopoilet as she walked. Immediately her body reacted. Automatically her hands reached out to try and catch herself. Fucking hell, she really couldn't go a week without falling, crashing into someone or somehow hurting herself. Or all of the above.

[color=0072bc["Shit, I'm sorry!"[/color] She ought to just permanetly ride a pegusi. Then she wouldn't make a fool of herself on a regular bases. Or just stay in the water. Either way, she couldn't hurt herself, or embarrass herself.

It was such a nice day... so beautiful.

Thumb pressing down on the lock button on the side of his phone; Kepano slipped it back inside the confines of his pocket. It had taken him a while to do, but finally, all the text messages he'd gotten were now answered. As were a few of the emails that he'd recieved during his little hiatus from all the responsibilities that awaited him right here in camp. Not that there were too many, or that they were really of too much importance. No. The most he did was cook and look after the plants... help his brother, sister and Katherine with the crops... Stuff that could be done by others when he wasn't around, or really, even when he was around it wasn't like he was the only one there that was capable of the tasks. Either way, he was covered.

Head lifting, having all intentions of gazing back up at the vast open sky hanging so gloriously above the camp; he instead found his body colliding with something soft- something warm. And amongst the surprise, the familiar voice of someone he recognized hit his ears in the sound of an apology.

Hands falling from the warmth of his pockets; Kep instead reached out, taking a gentle hold of the woman's hips. His fingers curling lightly over her curves as he planted his feet into the ground, helping to keep the both of them steady and upright. It wasn't as though this were an everyday occurance-... well... there were a handful of times he was pretty sure a few people around the camp had "accidently' fallen or stubled into him while he'd been walking around and minding his own business. But it wasn't like he had any proof of that. And besides... one: he didn't exactly mind when it happened, in fact, he rather enjoyed it; and two: he was pretty sure this wasn't one of those times. Either way, the very last thing he needed was to be the one responsible for sending a pretty little thing like Imogen tumbling down to the ground.

Greyson would never forgive him for putting a scratch on that gorgeous face of hers.

"Gen, it's fine."

Head turning down; Kepano locked his dark gaze with her own. Giving it a light shake, and causing his green hair to sway gently back and forth with the action as he took a moment to move the both of them further off to the side, and out of the way of anyone training or who wanted to get past them, "I wasn't exactly paying too much attention myself. Guess we both just gotta take it a little easier next time. Besides... wouldn't want anything to happen to that beautiful smile of yours now, would we..? You're brother would totally kill me."

Lifting a single hand from where it was resting over her hip, he gently cupped her chin. Taking the chance to run the pad of his thumb slowly over her bottom lip before eventualy, he pulled away. Giving her a quick wink as he returned both his hands back to the confines of his jacket pockets, "So, I know where I'm going; but where are you headed all distracted like that..? By the look on your face, it doesn't really seem like you were thinking about coral and pegasi..."

location: heading to Camp Grounds

This girl was going to be the death of him. Remus coudn't help the sigh that escaped him as Riley darted off, across the road, seemingly weaving in between cars and ignoring the honks of horns as she did so. Right from the moment he had saved her ass, she was constantly getting herself into more danger. The girl seemed to attract it- and she seemed to not fear anything. Remus winced as she recklassly dashed between two cars- much too close for Remus's comfort. He was going to have to chase after her, to stop her... He was going to... He closed his eyes tightly and gritted his teeth. She was going to be the death of him. He drew in a deep breath, and cursing Riley under his breath, he watched the cars a few seconds before he followed after her.

He rushed through the lanes, cursing her thoroughly as he did so. This is not a good idea, this is NOT a good idea. AH! Fucking car! At least once I get her to cam-Oh, fuck, truck truck truck! He spun, dashing as fast as he could She's going to make me learn if you can die of fright, I fucking know it. Breathing hard, he dropped down to the ground, waiting for his heart beat to slow. "Fucking crazy bitch!" He managed to get out, causing Riley to let out a laugh as she stood over him, grinning. "You were pretty good there. What was that spin?" she asked cheerily- did nothing cause her fear, did nothing dampen her spirits?

"it was a there's a fucking truck twirl" He said, before sighing again and getting to his feet. "Just because I'm the son of Phobos, doesn't mean I want to be scared shitless all the time" Well, he was scared shitless most of the time anyway, but that wasn't the point. Riley gave another laugh, and smiled again. "It wasn't that bad. Lets go!" Remus shook his head wearily, starting to walk again. What sort of fate was this, one of a few times where he left the camp, and this happens. He supposed it wasn't so bad, but really... didn't she ever think of not risking death? She trotted off ahead slightly, seemingly enjoying the plant life around them- once or twice he was sure that he saw her brush against a plant slightly- leaving it healthier than it had been. She seemed to do it almost as if it was second nature, and hehad to wonder how long she had been using her abilities.

It was no wonder he had found her facing down monsters.

There was a feeling of immense relief wasing over him as they passed the camp boundaries. Home. It was good to be back into the relative safety, and as they moved through the trees, coming out into the grounds of the camp, Remus let himself relax further. "I'll take you to see Chiron... He can see about getting you settled in... " And he could escape, before this girl seriously was the death of him.

Riley couldn't help but feel... excited. The rush over the road- she had felt exhilerated, and she couldn't help but find the forest, the trees, the flowers struggling so hard to grow as anything but irresistable. To nudge them a little, let them bloom... She sighed happily. She really couldn't understand what Remus was so afraid about- well, she supposed that there was a few things to be afraid off... Shaking her head, She glanced over to Remus as he spoke. He was going to pass her off to someone else? A little perturbed- she had grown somewhat accustomed to his pressence, it was oddly comforting, in a.... well, sibling sort of way. She supposed that in a way, they were cousins... That was a rather disturbing thought. How many cousins- shit, how many siblings did she actually have?

She shifted slightly, the little carrier that held her hedgehog moving as the little creature moved, and she lifted the carrier up, looking through the grate. "Hey, sleepyhead" She said, grinning at Rose. "Looks like we've finally reached this camp. Going to be fun. Look! We made it in one piece too, despite Remus being a worry wort about it!" She shot Remus a grin, and earned a small smile in return. She'd count that as a win. "So, where is this Chiron?"

Remus hesitated, "Possibly the big house... I think it was the tower today, but I can't hear anything, so it must be ov-" He paused as the... annoucement from... was it the Chiron he was talking about? Or someone else? "Something seems to have happened... Well, perhaps you'll meet Dioynsus too." He said, starting to walk again, and Riley followed, a little apprehensive now- as if she was being sent to the Principles office.

She was such a frigging clutz. Often, though, others weren't around to see her trip, stumble, or crash into things. Of course one of the times she was a fool in front of others, it would be crashing into someone. She really needed to be better, to watch where she was going, to lool- Well, even when she did look, she still fell or stumbled, or hurt herself. It was one of the reasons she enjoyed horse riding or flying with the Pegasus. At least she could stay on their backs, and the chacnes of falling were slim. There were, however, worse people to crash into then Kepano. She didn't want to think about what might have happened if it was one of the Ares kids... or some of the more forward Aphrodite kids. "He should be use to me being hurt- as evident on the walking disaster that I am." She replied, although she found herself confused on his actions- which was a norm with her as well. Walking disaster, clueless and mainly known for being Grey's little sister.

She ought to be use to that, too.

"I... " where was she going? What did she think she could do to help? She had no fucking clue what was going on at the moment, and what she could actually do. "I'm just thinking about what happened, rocked up just as the annoucement was happening... " She said softly, a frown crossing her features once more. "I was thinking about what I could do... and was probably going to migrate to the stables." But really, she had no idea. She was certain that she'd just be in the way if she tried to help. "I-" As Dionysus made what amounted to a second annoucement, she paused. "Another quest?" she bit her lip. He hadn't exactly said it was for a quest, but... Grey was being called- and a part of her couldn't help but feel slightly relieved. Erin's task was against the Gods... if Grey was sent on another quest, it wouldn't be as dangerous.

"Well, uh... Not sure where I'm going, to be honest. Seems like there's a lot going o- " a thought crossed her mind, and she stopped what she was saying, looking back to Kepano, "Wait, were you here for the annoucement at the tower?"

"Mmm... well, it was either that, or your lightsaber."

The soft chuckle falling through her lips so naturally; Erin didn't even need to so much as turn around to know who was in her room. It really didn't surprise her in the least, his little visit. No. What did surprise her, however, was just how long it had taken him to get there. The gossip wheel of camp must have been churning real slow; perhaps both Alina and Katherine were still in bed... or high... that would explain their lack of attentiveness to spread whatever news floated through their ears and into those little heads of theirs. But even she had to admit that at least ninety-seven percent of the time, the pair were accurate.

Gaze lifting away from the suture kit she'd been given as a gift back in middle school- something she hadn't used in years, and hoped she never needed to again; she rolled it back up. And only after clipping it shut did she slip it into her bag. Her arms falling back to rest down by her sides as finally, she turned to face the man that had come to see her. Her dark eyes the lifting up his figure until, after what felt like an eternity, she met them with his own. Ezra. Almost immediately she felt her body relaxing. Tension seemed to just leave her whenever he was there- it was strange. The connection that had built up between them so quickly and from their very first meeting; it was natural. Easy. It was comfortable; and even that very day two years prier, she'd already felt like she'd already known him for years.

"..you know, the one you liberated from the set of 'Rise of Skywalker'... at least this way, I thought I might just get away with it." A soft smile dancing across her dark lips, Erin's hands made their way into the pocket of the hoodie she wore. Her shoulders giving a light shrug.

The girl's words made the smirk on his face spread further across his features, snorting lightly at her reply. Part of him couldn't help but be just a tiny bit proud that she actually had paid attention and remembered which movie he'd taken his prop from. Of course Adam had first dibs and had taken his Kylo Ren saber, leaving Ezra to take the blue saber that was supposed to have been Anakin's from the prequels. It wasn't the original saber, as Christensen had taken it after his role as Anakin in the prequels, but it was still his favorite of the two props he took home from the set.

"Yeah, yeah. I know the one. I mean, I don't know. Honestly, Chase, I think you'd have had better luck trying to take the saber." At least he wouldn't have wanted to kill her for it. He knew this wasn't her fault and she definitely wasn't the thief, but unfortunately it had to be her, and now it was fell on her to try and retrieve the damned thing.

Ezra pushed forward, closing some of the distance between them before stopping in his tracks just a few steps away from her, tilting his head at her as he shoved his hands into the front pockets of his jeans.

"I wish this didn't have to fall on you, Er. I'm so sorry." Ezra's gaze averted to the floor a moment before pulling back up to hold her's again. "Is there anything I can do for you? Any way I can help you?"

"..we both knew this day was going to come sooner or later..." Her soft voice cutting over his, Erin's lips turned up in a small though gentle smile. She could see it, the hesitation behind his actions. Despite his best efforts, it was just something that he couldn't hide from her; even after two years of having known one another. Gaze holding him a few moments longer, she let it fall. Her dark eyes drifting away and over her room before eventually, they drew back across to meet with his own once more, "..you've seen my scales... it's just... my luck..."

Not knowing what to say to that, Ezra pulled one of his hands from his pants pockets and offered it out to the daughter of Hades. Of course he'd seen her scales, and knew just how bad her luck was. It still wasn't something he enjoyed witnessing. The son of Deimos knew at least he could be helpful in taking some of her fears away for the time being, all she had to do was take his hand. She knew what to do, it wasn't the first time he'd done it for her. The young man offered her a soft half-smile with his extended hand.

Her dark gaze holding to his own; there was no hesitation aside from the shared look between them as Erin took a step closer. Then another, and another; and before all too long, she'd reached out towards him. Her touch feather light at first, almost tickling at his palm, she eventually twisted her hand in his. Lacing their fingers together in a tight seal, and almost immediately, she felt a weight, however small it might have been, lifting from her shoulders. Her fear towards what she was needing to do shrinking.

"..thank you..."

Ezra nodded solemnly, gently pulling her by the hand into his arms, wrapping her up in a gentle embrace. The son of Deimos chewed on the inside of his cheek as he was deep in thought. If he could go, he would. He knew just how deep rooted her fear was. He'd felt it first hand on several occasions over the last two years the two had known each other. He sighed softly, readjusting his arms to hold onto her a little tighter. Letting a few moments of comfortable silence pass, Ezra finally spoke up.

"I can't go with you, but I can at least get you to the other side. After that, you'll be on your own with the boys. I know it's hard, but they're there for you. Try to lean on them, even if a little. Dont be your typical stubborn self and try holding everything on your shoulders, Er. Trust your friends."

The longer she stayed in the circle of his arms; Erin felt her fear melt further and further away. And with it, the small amount of confidence she almost forgotten about began to draw back to the surface, causing her to curl her body closer into his own. Hands sliding around his body; her fingers curled over the back of his top. Only helping to pull herself even closer against him. A gentle blush rising in her cheeks, although... it wasn't exactly anything new. Especially when it came to Ezra. Despite the fact that she was more than happily in a relationship - not that anyone outside of one or two people knew - he was always able to make her feel more than comfortable around him.

Even with the constant back and forth teasing...

"..you know that's easier said than done." Staying where she was, savoring the hug for just a few moments longer, head resting against his collar bone; it was a few moments later that she was lifting her gaze up to try and meet with his. Her grip relaxing slightly around him, "Out of the five that are going with me; I trust four of them completely. The fifth is a wildcard who I'm still not sure whether or not I regret asking to come along. But... I'll try. I promise..."

"You gotta believe in him to some extent if you asked him along with you." Feeling the girl in his arms shift, Ezra brought his gaze down to meet hers, searching her dark eyes a moment. "At the risk of sounding like I'm quoting Qui-Gon... trust your instincts. Your friends aren't the only ones you're going to need to trust, in this. Put your faith in yourself. You're stronger than you realize, Erin."

Ezra flashed her a small reassuring grin before gently letting her go, tilting his head slightly. "You just about ready to head off, then?"

"Heh... yes, Master."

Refraining from rolling her eyes; she did, however, smirk lightly. A soft glint playing behind her dark gaze as she stared up at him. The lingering effects of him reducing her fears still helping to keep her mind clear even as she dropped her arms back to her sides. Her head turning as she spared a glance over at her bag resting on the bed in front of the three large canines- her cat, however, was no where to be seen. Motioning over to it first, she stepped back over to it. Her attention on him as she closed it up, "And yeah, I'm pretty much ready. I have almost everything I need; just missing one thing, and she's over by the side of my dresser..."

Ezra chuckled lightly, looking over towards the bed where the three hounds were lain. He'd seen them when he first came into the room but had practically forgotten all about them with how quiet they'd been during his and Erin's exchange. A small smile spread across the young man's face as he approached the bed, reaching a hand out to let Onyx and the hellhounds sniff at him before greeting them with neck and ear scratches.

"Hello boys," he mumbled to the canines, pulling his hands back as he brought his attention back to Erin. She. He could only assume she was talking about one specific thing. A slight smirk came to him then, placing a hand on her shoulder as he stepped around her to pass by and wander over to her dresser, reaching over to the side of it to grab up her weapon. The one she so lovingly - and in such a nerdy fashion - named 'Ventress' after Dooku's apprentice in Clone Wars. Walking back over to the daughter of Hades, holding it out to her.

"I still find it hilarious how you swear up and down that you're not an obsessed nerd, yet I'm wielding the proof that that logic is extremely flawed." Ezra chuckled softly, smirk-smiling teasingly at his friend.

A light scoff passing through the seam of her lips; Erin eventually drew her gaze back across to him. Her dark eyes lifting back up to meet with his own, and immediately she was hit with that all too familiar smug grin on his face. The very one he seemed to give her more than any other person in camp. It was annoying as all hell, and at times she wanted nothing more than to be able to wipe it clean off his face, but... it was just him. And that expression, unfortunately and despite her better nature, had grown on her over the last couple of years.

"..obsession is such a strong word..." Reaching out towards him, her hand closed around the weapon; though she made no move to remove it from his grip. Instead merely holding onto it like he himself was, "I prefer to think of it as... an intense interest."

Ezra's gaze slipped down to her hand holding her weapon that he'd been holding out to her a moment before returning back up to her dark eyes, holding contact on them and the weapon a few seconds longer before breaking away. He had to remain mindful of certain boundaries. The young man cleared his throat and stepped back over to the hounds to pet them again. Choosing to change the subject completely, though teasing Erin about her intense interest was one of his favorite pastimes.

"So, when's the last time you went to Rome?"

The last time she'd gone to Rome...

"Oof... I think I was twelve." Attention trailing away from him, her eyes narrowing, though at the thought; Erin lowered her double nagimara down to her side. The memories of her last trip, though a little feint, flooding back into her mind. And she took a few moments to simply linger on them as she picked her bag up from her bed. Slipping it on over a single shoulder for the moment- damn it was weightier than she thought it would be... but then... she was taking quite a few things on the trip with them...

"It was a family reunion- bisnonna's birthday. So everyone flew in. While we were sightseeing our cousin who lives there tried to set Dani up with a friend of his, and then when that failed, he tried to push me into the trevi fountain for laughing at him. Looking back now... I saw a few odd things on that trip..." Adjusting the strap first, then running the fingers of her free hand back through her long dark locks, she crossed over to her dresser. A light frown making its way onto her features as she leant forward. Her head drawing to a light tilt as she peered in through the glass tank at the beautiful Mexican red-knee tarantula held within it, "..by the way... do you think you can look after my hell-babies while I'm gone..? I asked Damien already; but you know him. He'll probably forget."

Pausing a moment, her head turning, Erin once again looked over at him, "..and Salem and Silas too, of course."

Ezra chuckled, trying to imagine someone setting her cousin up with someone. She didn't seem like the type that was into having a match being made for her. Miss fiercely independent. "I bet she sucker-punched him for trying, hah." The son of Deimos' hand extended out, manipulating the darkness of his own arm's shadow cast over the bed to form up a cat-sized nightmare, watching it dance around the three hounds lain across the mattress. The trick was old, however, and the hounds just laid there watching it carefully. None of them chased it anymore the way they used to the first few times he tried it on them.

It wasn't until Erin spoke again that Ezra's attention was pulled away from the animals, his eyes turning to meet hers. Ezra chewed on the inside of his lower lip lightly and rubbed at his chin as if deep in thought, playing as if he actually had to think on whether or not he'd watch her furballs and arachnid for her. Shrugging with a heavy sigh, the young man looked back at her once more. "I mean, I guess so," he chuckled softly. "Heimdall won't exactly be pleased, about any of it, but he'll get over it. It's only a week. And, who knows, you guys could be back before then if things happen to turn in your favor."

"Unless I don't come back..." Head turning as she spoke, Erin let her gaze flick across to where he was stood. A small, playful smirk dancing over her dark lips, "..then you're stuck with my babies forever."

Ezra rolled his eyes at her comment, moving away from the hounds and past Erin to her open bedroom door, stepping across the threshold before turning back to look at Erin. "I mean, I know Tyler will at least be happy he doesn't have to take Salem," he chuckled at that, a moment or two passing before he gave Erin a look. "Stop talking like you're not coming back. If all else fails, I know two things that ensure you're coming back. Or, people, rather."

Extending one hand out towards the open hallway, the other held out towards her, Ezra smiled softly at her. "Now, come on. Gotta get you on your way. Can't be late to your own party."

There was no hesitation- there never was. Reaching her free hand out, placing it gently in his, Erin stepped towards him. And as more of her fear began to melt away to nothing, she entwined their fingers together; helping to keep the seal between them. Even as she motioned for him to take the lead. A soft chuckle passing through her lips, his words only helped her small smirk to grow.

"..a party for me..? Oh, I just can't wait."

There were no more to be said. Only a squeeze of her hand, a lingering kiss, and one last look before Anzu turned around. Carlos knew he'd see her in a week, just seven days without the smell of her coconut shampoo, one week without her remarks and playful smirk, one week without her sounded like an eternity. She didn't turn back to look at him as she walked away. His fingers wrapped tighter around the sword she had entrusted to him before turning around to wait for the rest of the group.

It felt like she had been walking for hours now. Her harness that sat on her hip that held her swords felt a lot lighter now that her wakizashi was in Carlos's hands. It almost felt alien to her without the added weight of the sword at her side. Anzu's fingers brushed over the empty spot; it was almost daring her to turn back, to take it back. Take him back.

She didn't.

It was then that she heard her name over the PA throughout the camp. Dirt kicked up around Anzu as she hurried towards the Big House, her feet carrying her up the small incline until she made it to the porch. She stared up at it, the light blue color of the building almost blending in into the sky. Up above, she could see the circular window of the attic. Ever since she learned of this place and who her father was, Anzu had always wondered what the attic looked like.

Anzu had always thought about sneaking in during the dead of night just to satisfy her curiosity, Carlos had even offered a good luck charm on occasions, but she'd never done so. It wasn't that she was afraid; Anzu simply wanted to be summoned up there on a quest. A quest that would take her far from here. Give her an excuse to leave the country and go back to Japan. At least for a day or two. To see her father, her Obaachan, her aunties, and cousins. Thinking about them again made that feeling from the morning bubble up in her chest again.

Anzu shook her head. There was no time to feel homesick right now.

She took a deep breath before she peeled her gaze from the window and walked into the Big House and to Dionysus's office. Anzu had always been a punctual woman, and she was not about to change that.

"..B-Brandon..?"

The doors of the elevator having slid open once they'd reached the right level; Ky' vie's heart skipped a beat. Her naturally pouted lips parting ever slightly as her dark eyes found their way to the familiar figure of the very man that she and her brother had been speaking about only minutes beforehand. It really was true then what people said; how when you speak of the devil, he shall appear. Not that she considered Brandon Murphy to be a devil of any kind- well...

Train of thought trailing off, a gentle tinge of red appearing across the top of her cheeks, Ky stepped away from her brother's hold. Her hand reaching out to keep the door from closing on them. Had she asked him to come down here, and just forgotten..? No... No, she wouldn't be so careless as to forget organizing to meet with him. Glancing back over her shoulder, her eyes meeting with that of Beau, she eventually brought her attention back to the son of Ares. Staring at him a spell longer before her mind came to and she moved forward. Passing him by as she crossed over to the sealed door leading into her main workspace.

Hand reaching out, she placed it on the screen located to the side of the door. Holding it there for a few moments longer before she moved to open the door for the both of them, her gaze returning to Brandon, "..what are you doing here..? I thought you were heading off to train or something after you left earlier..."

At the sound of Ky' vie's voice, Brandon spun around on the spot, clutching the straps of his backpack with a bit of a grin. His eyes caught Ky's brother behind her, nodding in greeting to him before his eyes met with hers again.

"Well, don't sound so happy to see me," he chuckled softly, staying where he stood as Ky went to open up the door to her workspace. Bran shrugged lightly, readjusting his grip on his pack straps. "Came back by your place to grab the revolver... you weren't there, so I thought this would be the next best place to check before I leave."

Opening her mouth to respond, Ky's voice caught in her throat before she had the chance to form so much as a syllable. Before he left..? And that was when it dawned on her. The quest. He was going- of course he was going. Why wouldn't he..? It was Erin, after all. Four years and nothing really had changed there aside from both of them had become more comfortable in the camp that they didn't need to be at each others side twenty-four seven any longer. Still though.. quests weren't something that could be taken lightly. And even though part of her was now worried about him, she knew better than anyone that he was more than capable of looking after himself, as well as others when it came down to it.

Besides... there was no talking him out of something once he had his mind set on it...

"..come on... I'll set you up with what you need..." Motioning for him to follow, her eyes flicking across to meet with her brother's. Reaching her hand out, she motioned for him too to follow before eventually giving them both her back. Holding the door open long enough for one of them to catch it behind her; she flicked a switch close to her. The various rows of lights flicking to life in an instant, illuminating the large room and everything that was in it as she took the steps down from the doorway and further into the workspace. Completely non-pulsed as she began past the large towering structure that she had been working on meticulously for the past God knew how many months, "..the new system I'm working on is this way, Beau- so are the firearms I've been experimenting with, babe... you're going to need more ammo than what I showed you if you're taking the revolver with you."

Beau returned the nod towards Brandon as Ky' vie pulled away, catching the slight tint on her cheeks. It was cute seeing her like this again. Distracted and a little bit more carefree, and as much as he didn't trust Brandon, he was happy for his sister. He had to admit; they made a nice couple. Ky could match Brandon's fire, just like he matched hers. Beau just wondered if they'd managed not to burn each other or everything around them.

Catching the door behind Ky' vie, Beau, let Brandon pass before he went in himself. His gaze was instantly pulled towards the large structure that took up almost the whole room. His eyes traced over the various panels, wires, and metals that made up this towering invention. Ky had always had a talent of being an extremely productive person, something Beau had always been a bit jealous of. While she was able to lose herself in her work, he was always stuck with a hundred ideas and projects simultaneously. Even now, with everything happening between Ky and Brandon, she seemed more focused than him.

"Yeah..." Beau kept his eyes on the stricture, still trying to wrap his mind around his sister's ability to create such amazing things. The woman was like fucking Tony Stark. Beau was sure if Corona and Ky worked together, they might as well create the Iron man suit.

Beau's attention returned to his sister and Brandon when she mentioned the revolver. So, Brandon was part of the quest? It wasn't a surprise, really. He was more worried about Ky, but by the way, she was either okay with it or just really good at hiding it. Probably the latter, just by the way her words trailed just the slightest.

Beau suddenly felt like he should leave these two alone, let them say their goodbyes. Too bad both things were in the same place; Tartarus, he hoped it wouldn't get awkward.

It was hard to miss. Even harder for him not to immediately recognize what she was working on. Brandon's eyes lingered as his jaw dropped open slightly, openly staring at the large structure before them. It was only a matter of moments before he shook himself free of his shock at what he was looking at, turning his attention to Ky' vie as he caught up with her. Her use of the pet name causing a slight smile to curve the corners of his lips upward.

"Can it make the Kessel Run in less than 12 parsecs?" he smirked at Ky' vie, giving the structure one last glance before he moved in closer to Ky' vie, hands still grasping his pack straps.

"That would be great, babe. Was sure to grab it before I left the cabin, definitely wasn't going to leave without it." He had more he could have said but figured he'd save Beau from the embarrassment of having to overhear it, chuckling to himself. Brandon's eyes pulled back to the Falcon once more, shaking his head with a slight smirk as he looked it over.

She was crazy. Crazy talented, but holy cow. The things she was capable of never ceased to amaze him. It was one of the many things he admired about the daughter of Hephaestus. One of the things that drew him in. The feeling was almost uncomfortable, but not unwelcome. Ky' vie Morgan. Who'd have thought... definitely not Brandon, that's for sure.

"..when she's done; you can take her for a spin and we'll find out."

Head turning, Ky dared a glance back over her shoulder at the man she was responding to. Her dark eyes lingering on Brandon a moment; it was his reaction to her current project though that had her lips turning up in a rather pleased smirk. Despite the fact that he was more into fantasy than he was into sci-fi; she knew enough about her man to know that he appreciated such things as the podracers, and perhaps even more so, the Falcon itself. The franchise that was Star Wars might not have made it to the very top of his list, but-... Well, it was high enough on it that it sometimes turned 'Netflix and Chill' nights into 'Netflix and Babe, Why Aren't You Watching..? This Is The Best Part' nights.

..it was just one of the many things she loved about him...

It also helped to push her work in ways she never exactly dreamed possible. Eyeing him a few moments longer, her mind lingering on all the projects she'd begun designing and making reality purely because he had shown an interest in them, or had managed to somehow pique her interest; Ky eventually turned her attention back to where they were going. Leading both her brother and the son of Ares away from the Millennium Falcon, and instead over to a self-sectioned off area of the level where she'd built walls up to create a more modern work-space environment than that of what they'd already seen. And passing through the open arch that served as the door, she reached out to it. Finger tapping a button on the wall, it was only a moment later that the many monitors she used for her work lit up.

"Okay... lets start with you, Beau." Smiling softly, glancing back at him as she moved forward, she slowed as she reached a large table in the center of the room. Her body leaning forward slightly, she grabbed a pair of bracelets attached by what looked like circuitry to rings. Slipping them on so the circuitry ran over her palm and up each of her fingers, she tapped the top of the desk before twisting her hand and raising it up; causing the screen to rise up into the air for them all to see, "..so this is what I've been working on for the Falcon. I call her Elthree... for reasons. Anyway; I've taken inspiration from both Star Wars and Marvel for this one- specifically Iron Man, and his A.I Jarvis. The technology itself is a combination of holo-technology and augmented reality; though, I've tried to keep the latter to a minimum. She doesn't talk to you, at least not yet... but I'm still working on her. She should be able to serve you well, especially with planning out your new projects."

There it was, Beau thought as he saw that little look Ky' vie had whenever she looked at Brandon. It was something he'd thought he'd never seen again, and as much as he had doubts about Brandon, he was happy for them. Beau followed his sister and Brandon, eyes glancing over the various projects and schematics Ky had lying around the place, and as many projects she had, it was a lot more organized than Beau's smaller bunker.

Bunker 15, the place that Beau had called a second home since he arrived at camp, was a lot smaller than Ky' vie's. He didn't need the space; he wasn't building any Falcons, weapons, or any giant flashy robotics. Beau preferred the art of making over everything else. His creations were often more mundane and abstract; they served no other purpose than to be looked at and admired. Beau had always been intrigued by the idea of building something bigger, something made of metal with circuits and fancy tech that talked to you, but that wasn't him. He already looked like his mother; he didn't actually want to be her.

And yet, he was going to work on something inspired by her own work.

Beau's attention was brought back when Ky' vie addressed him, dark eyes moving to the table at the center of the room. He whistled with amazement as he watched his sister place the bracelets on her wrists and twist her hands a certain way before the screen rose before them. Beau, completely amazed, once again, began to circle the table with critical eyes. "You just keep surprising, Ky." He laughed, watching the bracelets and rings on her hands before moving on to what was on the screen. It was a lot more than Beau had in mind, but he had started to expect the unexpected from his siblings. No one knew what they were capable of.

"I think Elthree will be the perfect tool to help me with what I'll be working on." Beau nodded, his hand rubbing the stubble under his chin as he leaned in closer to study the screen. A powerful machine and AI like this one would be able to handle what he had been trying to put into paper for the last few weeks, "Is she software or hardware? I'll need to see how I can plug her into my existing system up in my room since my bunker is usually filled with sawdust" Beau should really get an upgrade in his bunker or find a way to separate his woodwork from the rest of it.

Brandon had been so caught up in the ship itself that he hadn't been paying much attention to what was being said. It wasn't until Ky' vie firmly grasped a handful of his shirt at his chest and began pulling him along that he realized they were moving on to the next room, chuckling softly with a bit of a sheepish grin.

"My bad," he muttered, playfully flicking at her hand to let his shirt go as he followed behind her as she wanted him to. Watching her walk away from him a moment before he started to zone out, his mind wandering on about the quest as Beau and Ky' vie spoke. One of the only things he picked up from Ky's words was the name of the AI she created and that there were reasons she had created her. The thought made him smirk a bit, shaking his head lightly as he quickly pulled his phone out of his back pocket and pulled up his text thread with Erin.

Sending Erin a quick message telling her where he was and that he shouldn't be long before he was ready to go, he shoved his phone back in his jeans pocket before pulling his gaze back up to the two in front of him. His eyes caught the monitor and really got a look at the A.I. Ky' vie had been talking about. Elthree. A smirk spread across the young son of Ares' face, stepping closer to better inspect it for himself, standing just behind Beau.

"You really put everyone to shame here at camp, Ky. Elthree didn't talk after they uploaded her neural core into The Falcon's navicomputer, either, but I'm sure you'll have it figured out in no time, Princess."

Just keep surprising... Put everyone to shame...

The gentle blush that had covered the tops of her cheeks grew brighter; creeping further over her features at the compliments that were thrown her way. Really, she wasn't looking for any kind of praise; and she never expected any either. What she did, she enjoyed. And wasn't that all that mattered..? With the sheer amount of people in camp that enjoyed gaming, or that used computers and other systems in one way or another; didn't it just make sense that she would put her all into maintaining and perfecting the programming and servers that they used so frequently..? It was just part of her job at the camp. But then, could it really be considered a job when it was something she simply enjoyed doing..? Or was it more of a hobby..? She wasn't sure.

"..heh, please... it's like you with you creating a masterpiece out of wood, or you with a blade in your hand..." Shaking her head lightly, Ky's dark gaze flicked back and forth between the both of them as she spoke. And biting down gently on her lower lip, chewing on it a moment, her features softened. Giving a light, almost dismissive shrug of her shoulders in response. Brushing it off, perhaps even a little shyly, "..it's just in my nature to create these things. I'm nothing special, I know that. Besides, there's so many things I can't do that others here in this camp can..."

Hand drawing up, she lightly brushed some of her long and wavy red locks back. Neatly tucking them behind her ear before she began to remove the circuitry bracelets and rings from herself; and instead passing them over to her brother with a soft smile so that he could test it out for himself, "She's a mixture of both hardware and software; so when we do integrate her into your existing system, we might have to do a small upgrade, but for the most part, you should be right. As for the sawdust though... we can work around it. What I'll do is install the same holo-tech that I have in this table, into your new desk. This way, you can use it like you would right here. But I'll also install a regular screen over your workspace so you can use that if you ever wish to. Easy enough to get you a dust-proof screen or two."

Beau nodded along as Ky explained what she had in mind. His brows pulled together, watching her remove the bracelets and rings before taking them and trying them on himself. Careful with the wires and circuits, Beau slipped on the machinery on himself. An almost childish smile spread over his features; it was like opening a brand new toy, except the toy was probably worth thousands of dollars. With now the system secured on his hands, Beau twisted his wrist, much like his sister had, to test the holo program.

"Holy fucks, Ky, this is so cool!" He almost wanted to laugh, would have if Brandon wasn't here watching them.

Right.

"You should help Bran out; I'll stay here and play around with Elthree and see what she can do before we get started on the transferring and all the fun stuff." He glanced over to Bran, giving the guy a small nod before returning his attention to Ky. "Promise I won't break anything." If he did, she'd probably chop off his head and use it to decorate one of her machines.

"..you better not break anything... else I'll unleash my vector on you."

Narrowing her eyes on her brother; it was nevertheless clear as day that Ky was merely joking with him. The small, though playful smirk that danced across her bright lips was more then enough evidence of that. Besides... she knew Beau well enough to know that he'd never intentionally break anything she made. And if something ever did happen to break, then it wasn't his fault; it was hers. Clearly. And she needed to re-think the design and durability of her creation.

Turning her attention after another moment or two to the other man in the room, she reached out. Giving a light tug on his sleeve in order to first get his attention before motioning for him to follow. Whether she liked it or not, Brandon was going on this quest, and there was nothing she could do about it, really, other than make sure that he was as prepared for whatever it was that got thrown their way. And honestly, that could be anything. Quests were dangerous. She knew that from personal experience, and if she didn't have her step-mother and legacy looking out for her the way that Aglaea did, she'd also have the physical scars as proof. Leading her favorite son of Ares away from her brother, through an open arch off to the side of her tech room, Ky lifted her hand as she approached another door. Reinforced. Steel- it was clear that even when she was in her workspace, she didn't want others getting into this particular section without her supervision.

Pressing her palm against the screen beside it, waiting a moment or two for it to accept her palm; Ky's attention turned to the door as it opened. And stepping to the side, she motioned for Bran to go in ahead of her, "..welcome to my personal weaponry... Let's get you fitted out for your quest, yeah..?"

"Somehow I really don't think unleashing your vector on him is that much of a threat," he chuckled softly, eyes lingering on the device on Beau's wrist. The wonders of Ky' vie Morgan never ceased to impress him. Bran made a mental note to ask her about Elthree later and see if he couldn't also check out the A.I. up close and personal. For now, his attention was turned back to the daughter of Hephaestus as she tugged at his sleeve, giving her a light smile before turning to follow her.

The few times Brandon had been down in her section of Bunker 9, he'd seen the reinforced steel door a time or two and of course, his curiosity had been peaked. The fact Ky was going to open it up and reveal it's contents had Brandon excited, but it was nothing compared to the feeling that hit once the door finally opened up. His jaw clenched tight in an attempt to keep it from hitting the floor as he stared in awe at the room full of weapons, hesitantly pushing himself further into the brightly lit room while his eyes wandered over every last one. If there was a moment he could choose to die, it'd be right now. Brandon Murphy was in heaven.

"Alright, Tonya Stark," he said to her without turning his eyes from the room or hardly even turning to face her behind him, "First the Falcon, now this? ...I think I'm in love." Bran chuckled softly, wandering over to one of the walls with a few rifles hanging from it to take one down. Holding out the Amethi AK-203 aimed down at the floor with one hand, the young man twisted it around to check it out before bringing the stock firmly against his shoulder to take aim with both hands now on the gun.

Like a kid in a candy shop, Brandon couldn't wipe the huge grin on his face as he slowly dropped the weapon from his shoulder and hung it back in it's place. He knew what he'd want to take along with him, but he was curious to know what she had in mind for him. Eyes still wandering around the room, Bran turned his head as he spoke to Ky. "You spoil me. Seriously, this.." He couldn't even finish his sentence. He was in heaven.

The son of Ares' eyes landed on a .22 rifle, tilting his head as his mind began to run. A .22 would more than likely kill the damned bird... though a tranq gun might come in handy if Thunder Thighs and Feather Brain couldn't help on the bird-front. Turning his attention to Ky' vie now, his brow raised slightly. "We're headed to Rome to retrieve this damn pigeon. Bringing along Carlos, Spencer, Tyler, Zeru with Erin and I. If Zeru and Tyler can't manage to put two halves of an idiot together to get the bird.. I'll have to step in. A .22 round would kill the thing, though. Have any tranq guns with a dosage low enough to not kill it?"

Three... four... Six names. There were so many of them going on this quest- it wasn't something that happened very often, and there was a good damn reason as to why. It was dangerous. Demigods were like a lure; and those who were children of the big three..? They were a lure with their own theme music and gigantic glowing neon signs pointed in their general direction. Having a large group of demigods gathering outside of the safety barrier of the camp was literally just inviting trouble. It was like holding your arms out and screaming your location to the sky. Just daring the monsters to come and try their luck at you.

"..I think I have just the thing..."

Pushing the worrying thoughts towards the back of her mind - she didn't need to dwell on them at the moment, she'd do it later - Ky' vie finally stepped into the room. Her dark gaze raking over the various shelves for a moment; she wandered past him. Her hands reaching out and body leaning over slightly as she pulled open one of the lower draws. Removing from it a large and rather weighted silver case, Ky turned and placed it down on the top of the island cabinet. Flicking the locks before opening it for him to see the gun that was held inside of it, "This... is a tranquilizer rifle. It's a seventy-one centimetre rifled barrel with an eleven millimetre bore; and the range on it is between one and sixty metres. As for the darts..."

Her foot sliding back, pulling her body with her slightly as she took the chance to glance at the draws on that particular side of the island bench; Ky' vie eventually pulled one of them open. Taking out a smaller, wooden case which she placed down beside the first. Only using a single hand to open this one, however, "..I think this dosage should be okay- it's the standard for medium to small sized birds; but then again, this isn't a normal everyday dove. So we won't actually know it's effective until you manage to hit it."

The look on her face said it all. Of course the mention of six demigods going on a quest together was just asking for trouble. All that attention... the larger the number, the bigger the target. Maybe they'd interpreted the prophecy wrong and maybe only three were meant to go and they stood against three who were truly behind the theft of the goddess' symbol. Or 4x2, or even 5x1. For all 6 of them to be going was still something that was weighing on Bran, as well. He couldn't blame Ky if the news made her feel some type of way. He just wasn't about to say no to a challenge, even if it got him killed in the end. His best friend's life was on the line, and his father was the one threatening it. If anyone had a right to feel guilty over the position she was in or entitled to personally seeing this to the end, it was gonna be Brandon.

It wasn't until Ky brought out the silver case that his feet slowly began to carry him around the island counter till he was standing behind her off to the side a bit, taking a peek at the case as the girl before him talked. After she pulled the second case out, Bran took a step closer and finally removed his thumbs from his pack straps, slipping his hands over her waist gently as he stood behind her and looked over everything laid out before them, nodding his head. "This should do. Hopefully it does the job with the first go, if not.. that's what a second round's for." The son of Ares chuckled softly, pulling his hands from her waist to instead place them on her shoulders, giving them a firm squeeze.

"With the lot of us, should make quick work of this. I don't see why it shouldn't be a piece of cake." Bran's thumbs rubbed over the back of her neck with his hands still holding onto her shoulders, taking a look down at the daughter of Hephaestus. "What do I owe you in return?"

The feeling of his fingers working into her skin; a soft hum fell past the open seam of her lips. Her body falling back lightly, leaning gently against his own as his words played in her mind. What did he owe her..?

"..nothing..."

The response slipping from her mouth without so much as a second thought, it was a few moments longer before Ky' vie turned in his arms. Her dark gaze drawing up to meet with his as she brought her hands to his sides. Fingers curling gently, "..just-... just make sure you come home- you better fucking come home, Bran... but..."

Hesitating a moment, her eyes searching his, she continued on. Her voice a little softer than before, "..I mean... if you did want to pay me back, I won't stop you... we both know what I want..."

"Well, there's always an upside to having a child of Hades for a best friend. If I die, you know damn well she'd drag my ass back from the Underworld. I'm not getting out of this life easy so long as she's around," Bran smirks, chuckling softly as his eyes fall down to her hands at his sides. Peaking towards the door momentarily to check that Beau wasn't standing within view, Bran turned back to Ky a moment before leaning down, pressing his lips to hers lightly.

"Hey, while I'm gone.. do you think you could look after Bolin for me? I'd ask Octavia or Elias, but he just doesn't listen to anyone the way he listens to you...for.. whatever reason." Bran shakes his head with a smirk, tilting his head at her. "If it's too much, I know Brynn would watch him. Bolin misses his girlfriend Shea," he laughed at that, his hand reaching up to brush a strand of loose hair behind her ear. "If you could though, I'd appreciate it. I'd owe you double."

"You don't even have to ask; it's a given." Of course she'd look after Bolin- did he really expect that she'd do anything less..? Sure the canine could be a little bit of a shithead, especially when he was in one of his more playful moods, but... she loved that dog just as much as she loved Brandon. Even when that meant she had to chase him around the cabin to get her bra's back after he'd stolen them from her laundry, "I'll take good care of him just like I always do, you know that."

"Thanks, gorgeous." Bran flashed her a charming grin before checking his watch, the slightest hint of a frown touching the corners of his lips. His eyes turning up to meet with hers once more before he gently dropped his hands from hers and stepped around her to step in front of the case with the rifle inside, making sure all the clips to the case were secure. Pulling his pack off from his back, he quickly unzipped the thing and shoved the small wooden box down into it on top of his things. Once everything was secured he slipped his pack back on and pulled the case from the table, holding it at his side as he turned to face Ky' vie again.

"Better head top-side. Don't wanna be late." Bran stepped towards the door before coming to a stop again, looking at her. "I don't imagine you'll be seeing me off. I know you got a lot on your plate. So, I'll uh... I'll see you later, yeah?"

And just like that, he was going again. It wasn't the first time for either of them- they were both veterans when it came to questing; coming and going probably more than most of the other in the camp, but...

"..Brandon, wait..." Turning on the spot, Ky's long red locks brushed over her back as she reached out. Her hand taking a gentle though firm hold of his free one before he could get too far away from her. It still sucked. Stepping forward to meet with him as she urged him to turn back around; she met her lips to his. Allowing them to linger, fingers curling against his palm a moment, before she began to move her hands between them. Removing a band from around her wrist, to instead slip it around his own. Explaining only once she drew back for a breath "..you need me, for anything - more ammo, back up, a ride; anything - you bloody well call me... an' if you find yourself in a bind, press the button on the wristband... it summons Stormbreaker..."

His attempt to turn and head off was cut short. His attention quickly snapped to his wrist as the girl transferred over the wristband, raising a brow as he brought his gaze up to meet hers. Though he knew she meant well and that she cared for him, Bran wasn't about to get all mushy. Instead, he took a rather different approach, though still joking around with her in an attempt to keep the mood light. "What? Don't think I can handle myself, mm?"

"I know you can." Shaking her head lightly, her voice cutting over his before he could finish his sentence; Ky' vie gave him a small, half-hearted smile. Gently squeezing his hand as she held his gaze, "..which is why I'm not kickin' up a big stink 'bout you goin' without me. This is the only way I can help you, babe; at least for the moment. So, I'm gunna give you the best I got. And when you get home..."

Pausing a moment, her smile widening slightly, she gave him a playful wink, "..I'll give you the best of what my lingerie draw has; might have bought something you haven't seen yet..."

Babe. There it was again. Part of Brandon wanted to tell her to stop calling him that, though of course it one point he had but she just ignored him and used it anyway. Probably because she knew it annoyed him, at first.. though as time went on it seemed to just be a norm for her to use the term. Something Bran had grown kind of fond of hearing, though he'd never admit to it. It being part of the reason why he wished she would stop.

Nothing about what they were or what they did was exactly official. More of an unspoken agreement than anything. "Yeah, no." Bran chuckled softly, giving her hand a gentle squeeze back before letting go to lift it up to take hold of her chin lightly as he stared down into her eyes. "Think I've seen you in just about every little number you've got, princess. You know whatever you've got won't stay on long, anyways. Especially being gone a whole week? Mm. You'll be lucky if they're still in tact by the time I'm through with you."

Bran chuckled softly, staring into her eyes another moment or two before he leaned in, pressing his lips to hers one last time. Pulling back, the son of Ares readjusted his backpack strap and gave her a look. "Stay out of trouble while I'm gone."

"..always."

Hands falling back down to her sides, this time she made no move to follow after him. Her soft smile slowly fading from her lips as she continued to watch him. She couldn't keep him any longer than she already had. He had to get moving- the sooner they left, the sooner they were able to come back, "Just... be careful..."

Brandon simply nodded. He didn't have anything more to say. At least nothing worth saying. If he said any more he was afraid he'd be held up even longer. They had a tendency to do that, from time to time. As if seeing who would be the one to have the last word. The thought made him laugh. Today, though, she'd have it.

Giving her one last reassuring grin, Bran turned his back to her and pushed his way out of the bunker, hitting the button for the elevator doors. There was no wait as the double doors slid open, allowing for the son of Ares to step inside and press the button for the ground level. The doors hesitated a few seconds before closing in front of him, bringing him up towards the surface. A deep sigh escaped him as he stared down at his shoes. A long week was ahead of them.

"Bail money is something I have in spades. Being a daughter of Iris comes with certain benefits. Like having the world's richest piggy bank." She paused for a moment and smiled. "Though I doubt you'll ever actually manage to get caught." She really liked that Jamie was a rather selfless thief. They proved the popular saying there's no honor among thieves every day. "I'll be here whenever you do need information. And I'll stop by the Hermes Cabin first if I'm ever in search of something."
