1. Ranger Ready, Part I - With Druidon's re-emergence looming, Charlie Fox, former Purple Ranger, is looking to recruit one former Ranger to join her in the fight. However, a threat on the Angel Grove Youth Center also provides her an opportunity to potentially solidify two other members of the new Rangers.
2. Ranger Ready, Part II - After successfully establishing the makings of a new Ranger team, the Rangers must train and prepare to face the threat of Druidon. Unfortunately, they don't have much time to get the new Rangers up to speed with hostages being taken in the attack on the Youth Center.
Approximately ten years ago, Earth faced an immense terror that threatened to destroy the world as we know it. These alien-like beings originated from an alternate dimension, manifesting in our world through a portal that was ripped open by a technology-based company that was researching the Morphin Grid. Who would have known that genuine curiosity would put us at war with a power we were completely unfamiliar with? In response, a ragtag group of individuals were recruited into the fold in response to the threat. What followed after this assembling of Rangers we could not predict. Violence, destruction, betrayal, loss... Earth won the battle... but at what cost?
Nearly a decade later and the world has fully recovered from the damage of several years of war. Some of the Rangers served as casualties of the war... Others disappeared into obscurity dealing with the trauma of fighting a war they had no idea would lead to a life altering mental state... And then there are those who are sitting idle, waiting in paranoia for the next wave of an evil threat to try its best at conquering the world. Peace fell over the Earth in the years of recovery, but the slow emergence of what was once thought to be an eradicated empire has forced the hand of a former Ranger to either get the band back together (those who are still alive anyway) or recruit new blood who won't realize what they have decided to sign up for.
"Rangers" takes place nearly ten years after the war of the original Rangers versus the Druidon Warfare Tribe. The cause of this war stems from a corrupted technology company, GENESIS, wanting to tap into the power of the Morphin Grid to increase the quality of their products in order to make an immense profit. What they didn't expect was for an evil empire to enter into this dimension and cause turmoil. The same company created the Power Morphers that bonded with a group of young teens to combat Druidon, but after learning of the corruption of GENESIS, the Rangers acted on their own to overcome Druidon and save the world.
GENESIS's plan was to use the technology to sell to the government for an immense price and then escape Earth before Druidon took it over. Instead, they were "outsmarted and out-willed" by the power of youth. Years later, the technology and wisdom is now in the hands of a veteran Ranger, Charlie Fox, who has taken over the abandoned headquarters of GENESIS in an effort to restore the Dino Powers and recruit new Rangers while convincing old ones that their fight with Druidon is not over.
Our story picks up in present day with Charlie still in the process of restoring the Dino Powers while Druidon's second wave of evil is on the horizon nearly a decade later. As of right now, she is only one person that is trying to balance being a Ranger while being a Morphin Grid engineer to restore the powers back into the Power Morphers. As one could imagine, this is extremely tough for her to accomplish alone and patience is wearing thin. It is imperative that she receives help from new recruits and old teammates in order to not have the world finally succumb to the power of Druidon.
The age of the Rangers will range from 20 to 25 years old.
The original Rangers received their powers when they were "Teenagers with Attitude" in high school. Almost a decade later, at least the ones that survived the war, they are young adults (23 to 25) with their own set of issues including work, families, and other personal issues. With this in mind, they are more than likely older than the newcomers. The newcomers are probably on the younger end (20 to 22 years old), but the Rangers would be intentional about recruiting young adults and not teenagers. No way in hell would a 16 year old know how to deal with the threat that they are about to deal with. These Rangers could possibly attend Ange Grove University or are serving in the local workforce.
There are a handful of veteran Rangers that will be willing to re-join the team for the sake of finishing off the evil once and for all. They may or may not be as receptive to the newcomers, especially since they lost comrades in the war. In my mind, there are only one to two additional veterans that will comprise the entire team of Rangers. The newcomers, on the other hand, would outnumber everyone else.
Ranger colors are not gender exclusive. There could very well be a female Red Ranger and a male Pink Ranger. Also, "Red" isn't the de facto leader of the team. Each Ranger will be able to contribute their respective skills and traits in a way that should allow them to be a leader at any given time. The Rangers would, however, get direction from the Command Center.
"Active" means that a specific Ranger Designation is available to apply for. "Out of Commission" means that a role is not available. When a role is "Taken", the character first and last name will be displayed next to the Ranger Designation.
Power Morpher - The original Power Morphers for the Dino Rangers double as the Dino Blaster. Charlie felt the need to repurpose it into something more efficient and modern: a watch that allows Rangers to communicate with one another, send messages, call on the Zords, as well as morph. All of those things are capable in this one hub. It also tells time (which is pretty important). In order to commence the morph sequence, a Ranger would need to tap the Ranger helmet icon, say "(Color) Ranger, Dino Power" and then spin the top of the screen of the Morpher clockwise.
Dino Blaster - Formerly doubling as a morphing device, the Dino Blaster now solely serves as a weapon that can be utilized to blast bullets at foes, be charged up to access Armed Mode.
Dino Blade - The Rangers primary weapon for Melee and short distance combat. Can be powered up to utilize a personal finishing attack where the Rangers will call out "(Color) Slash!"
Dino Blade Blaster - A weapon that is a combination of the Dino Blade and Blaster that serves as a more powerful cannon. Can shift between a machine gun or a shotgun.
Power Crystals - The source of the Dino Rangers' powers, the Power Crystals allow access into the Morphin Grid. Power Crystals have to bond with a specific person in order to be utilized. Otherwise, they are just ordinary crystals with beautiful appearances.
Note: I am aware that Kyoryuger and Dino Charge (the suits in which this RP is utilizing) are a bit different in how they morph. Just not a fan of them using a weapon as a morpher.
"(color) Ranger, Dino Power!"
Command Center
Formerly housed by GENESIS, the previous headquarters of the corrupt technology company had essentially been left for dead, firmly planted in the middle of nowhere just outside of Angel Grove. The building originally served as office space a short drive away from the suburbs with plans from GENESIS to move into the city after all of their products boomed. However, the corruption force the company to sell and go out of business. Destruction has been held up for years, but now the Power Rangers use the building as a Command Center as well as updating it for boarding and training for those that need it. As one can imagine, the building still needs work (Pictures: 1, 2, 3, 4), but it serves its purpose.
Angel Grove University District
The Angel Grove University district has grown tremendously over the course of the past few years. Something about a city being at the epicenter of a war and then rising in spite of it has motivated young adults to move into the city, find places to live and even attend classes at AGU. With the boom in population, businesses have started to thrive (restaurants, clubs, bars, etc.), which attributes to the cost of living skyrocketing. There are numerous apartments and condos scattered across the midtown and downtown area, not to mention amenities available on campus for those that attend school. Most people who have families or starting families live in the suburbs, but thankfully those homes are not too far from inner city Angel Grove.
Gaia Co.
Nestled in the heart of the city is Gaia Co., the technological company that was next in line to be the powerhouse that GENESIS was aiming to be. Unlike GENESIS, Gaia went ahead and invested money to situated itself, and it's notable three sphered dome headquarters, in an area where they could be noticeable. For years, Gaia Co. was biding its time, patiently waiting for an opportunity to thrive and with GENESIS out of the picture, Gaia has enhanced itself over the course of a few years to being a highly respected and regarded company. Through its guided tours of the facilitated, one will note that there is a unique blend of nature and technology, which is Gaia's sole purpose to keep the two connected as they give each other life (and take away from it if used improperly).
First, thanks for making it this far into the interest check. Shout out to you.
This is not a first-come, first-serve sort of roleplay. I'm looking for roleplayers that can vibe with a casually advanced roleplay while also providing great characters.
Once you are done with your Character Sheet, please PM it to me so that I can evaluate it before acceptance. Do NOT post your CS in the Character or OOC section until approved. PLEASE NOTE: You may not receive your preference for Ranger color.
That being said, the aim of this RP is for it to be a small group RP. I'm looking for no more than maybe 4-ish roleplayers depending on the vibe. Those who are accepted will be able to write up to 2 characters.
Please post at least once per week in character. There will be instances where the group may be split up into separate groups to handle a task or quest so the Rangers won't always be together. Because this is a casually advanced RP though, I'm providing a little bit of leeway in posting. The goal is for this to be a long-term plot with minimal pressure. If you are unable to continue the RP, let me know so that we can phase out your character.
The roleplay will be a combination of slice of life, action, and adventure. Feel free to create your own subplots with other characters (enemies, friends, lovers), but just make sure that the other person approves of it.
I'm not enforcing a Discord server for OOC in this group plot. All important OOC information will be posted in the OOC forum. This is mainly because not everyone wants to use Discord and I don't want to leave people out. However, feel free to add me on Discord and direct questions to me there or via PM here.
The RP takes place in the fictional city of Angel Grove, CA (for nostalgia purposes) in an alternate universe.
@OGSG Couple of questions about character creation: 1) Power Rangers Races (Aquitians, Triforians, Eltarians, Merpeople, etc.) are they allowed? 2) Are Power Rangers canons having travelled through the multiverse rift with the bad guys available? 3) Non-Ranger characters with the chance to become Rangers later on?

1. Just regular humans for this RP. 2. Nope, no canons. No plans for them anyway. Completely AU. 3. Right now, no. This is going to be a small-ish group RP.
Do we need to go into this with a specific colour in mind? I don't mind what colour I get and kinda like the just having it chosen by the luck of the draw.

You can. Just be warned that you may get a different one. 👍🏾
Hey to everyone interested, I’m going to dedicate some time to sit down and analyze CS’s probably this Thursday. I’ve already received some great ones over the past 24 hours so keep them rolling in. Remember, if you would like to do more than one, you are free to do so. 👍🏾
EDIT: This doesn’t mean that CS’s are due by Thursday. Sorry if that was unclear lol.
So that leaves Red & Pink still available as Rookie Rangers. For those of you who made Veteran CS's and those who are still working on Rookie CS's, I'm giving you a few days (probably till about Sunday or Monday) to send those to me via PM. Even if we don't solidify the team completely by some time next week, the goal is to get the RP up and running by some time next weekend.
If you have already completed a Rookie CS, you still have a chance to make the RP! Just allowing people some time to finish up their CS's by early next week, so don't fret. If you have any questions shoot me a PM. Congrats to those who made it and be sure to post your completed CS in the "Characters" section in the same format that I've posted Charlie's (in a Hider with their name and Ranger designation).
