"Semantics. I'll take it." Niah said with a shrug, she ignored the pretty big if statement Princess Anelle added to her promise. She technically didn't have authority, but she didn't care. The whole situation was stupid. And she wanted to protect the Earth. She had gotten quite into the habit of it, even if it was only for one or two people on the planet. She smiled thinking of Dr. Larson. She was willing to do a lot for one person too.

She leaned back in her chair and looked up at the faces of those she had thought had been dead. It wasn't everyone. She'd never have everyone she cared for around again. Too many had died. But she wore a smile anyway. The part of her that had been scared literally to death wasn't worried about that. Because what mattered was right now. And that right now they were together. Even if it meant Flynn was back and so Bonnie would go to him. She hadn't had a chance anyway. So, no point in crying over that. It was simple. Whatever happened next was something that wouldn't have if she had died and so she'd keep fighting the good fight. Keep saving the world. Keep trying to make it worth the losses and the sacrifices. For Maria, it would be the first time she saw a true and genuine smile on Niah's face since before Ultron.

Matt leaned against a wall. This was interesting. He didn't really know if he trusted the Skrull Princess. If Ryanor seemed to think she was on the up and up though he supposed she at least wasn't lying. Niah's power wouldn't tell them anything except she was who she said she was. And prove she had been held prisoner, which had already been pointed out as meaning they couldn't use her as a bargaining chip. Honestly, Matt didn't like that idea so even if they could have he wouldn't have backed it.

He rolled his eyes at Kwassi. The kid was an idiot. If he didn't know any better he'd think that he was some sort of spy. But honestly, the group had been vetted so much it'd be nearly impossible. He'd have to not even know he was a spy to be one. Maybe his wording to Raynor had left space for it. Catching up with the other group would take a bit, but they had leeway before the conference got going.

Evelyn leaned herself up against a nearby couch eyeing the princess for a moment, as Maria pointed her out being the princess would be a good bargaining chip. But she had a feeling that the group wouldn't like that suggestion as Raynor had the same thoughts as well to, before speaking up and nodded towards Captain Marvel. They probably wouldn't be able to survive an encounter with the Kree empire of they found out that the skrulls were here and they deemed them as a threat.

"We have to find a way to do this without drawing their attention and there is an unknown number of skrulls at the convention as well to." Evelyn said they needed a plan that would work as well, and possibly not harming any of the skrulls that the princess wanted to save. She was open to hearing any ideas or plans that would be able to help. She eyed Kwassi for a moment shaking her head slightly at the sight of him being pinned down by Black Widow.

Maria looked at Kwassi still and shook her head slightly still more than a bit annoyed that she had been replaced with someone who was really stupid. "Yeah I can kinda see that he's a noobie at all of this." Maria said agreeing with Black Widow as she leaned back slightly as they mentioned the Kree they did talk about them briefly on the ship. "We did talk about them briefly though nothing major really." Maria said as she looked at Goose and trotted over and slapped Kwassi across the face with one of the tentacles which was really entertaining as she thought of something as Amelia told them the plan.

"What if we use the Flerekens and unleash them onto the floor and have them ID the skrulls, then we take them somewhere out of site like the suite here." Maria said looking over at Captain Marvel and Princess Anelle. "They can puke out the people they eaten on command without killing them right?" Maria asked figuring that they knew more about them. "The Princess here can then convince them to stand down behind closed doors. And it'll look like a bunch of rogue and untrained flerekens were hungry, that wouldn't draw the attention of the Kree."

Cassandra Reed

Cassandra stared at Tony for a moment and shook her head slightly. "I think that would draw to much attention here if you even did that and this is a world leader convention after all." Cassandra pointed out to Tony as she shook her head slightly at Kwassi as Black Widow got off of him. She wondered why the skrull director version of Hill brought him onto the team in the first place Cass gently rested an arm on Bonnie's shoulder listening to Maria as she spoke.

It was a really weird idea as it was and them relying on a bunch of Flerekens to do their job for them, she wasn't sure if the idea would even work in the first place either. Cassandra looked at the princess and Captain Marvel wondering if that idea would even work that Maria had suggested if they did it and the skrulls werent harmed, then that would keep Princess Anelle happy. Though it would be really hard to since there were bound to be a few skrulls that would fight anyway. "Would that plan work at all?" Cassandra asked.

Oliver Sullivan

It didn't exactly surprise Oliver that Tony was willing to call in a drone strike over Oliver being good enough to make the God of technology bleed, of all the Avengers, Anthony Edward Stark had the largest ego by far. But, by this point, he was used to being threatened by Iron man, even if the one who'd been threatening him may or may not have been a skrull, he was still unclear on that fact, so he just said, "I may or may not have looked through the Avengers databases... several times. All for the greater good, I promise." He said dryly, and he wasn't wrong, but honesty was better, he knew he couldn't hide anything from Iron Man in the long term.

Focusing more on the Skrull princess in front of them, he frowned. He didn't want to seem space racist or anything, but he was just about done with these aliens. This was war, and he didn't like the idea of trusting her, but it would probably be the best option to make sure the Skrull leave. "Cut off the head of the snake and the body will die, I get that but, wouldn't us being a skrull ally make us a target for the Kree? Or are they gonna leave us alone?" Oliver's number one priority, at the end of the day, was Earth remaining free, and he wanted to maximize the chances of that.

Kwassi Asokho

Location: Outside Presidential Suite
Skills: Photographic Memory : 16,

Kwassi wasn't sure how to feel about the situation at all. Between Bonnie seeming protective over the flaming jerk, and Black Widow pointing out how he was new at this. Of course he was new, he was a Sci-Tech nerd not a field agent. Why Hill even suggested him for this op was beyond him. Sure it was originally to capture Captain America, but even then he could've made the equipment they needed back in the Quinjet. His field days were as a vigilante. There was none of this alien invasion shit and he'd never encountered a mutant with the ability to do what that Skrull had. When Widow finally released him from the pin, Kwassi stood up and began to rub his wrist, looking towards the others in the room as they gave off their plans. He had one question burning in his mind until Oli asked it himself. If we ally with the Skrull Empire then wouldn't that put Kree targets on Earth? Or could we somehow ally with both?

Kwassi ran through the ideas in his mind, seemingly liking the one where cats just bumble into a room and eat random skrulls then spit them out after for a last chance to join the Princess. Question was was was that even possible? "I'm with Oli on this one. How do we know that aligning with the Skrulls won't bring Kree here? No offense to the Princess. My other question would be, if we do set loose a herd of Flerken, would it show we know too much about skrulls and be considered a threat? Is there a way to set them loose without giving off our hand that we know about them?" None of this sat right with Kwassi, but then again he wasn't an expert on interplanetary politics.

Everyone was being sort of loud and kind of talking over each other in a way with regards to coming up with a concrete plan. Problem was, no one seemingly had a concrete plan. Sure, there was the idea with the Flerkens and everything, but then there was all of the other problems that arose from their various options. If they allied with the Skrulls, they might be seen as a threat to the Kree and the Kree might try to wipe them out. If they don't ally with the Skrulls, there are different problems that go with that one.

"I don't really see a way out of this situation at all... At least not an easy solution..." Sparky muttered, trying to think of a solution. She was staying relatively quiet, just trying to think of something, anything really. Most of their options would result in them losing in some way, partially because of the Kree and Skrull war or whatever it was that was going on with them. That was why they had to be super careful. Problem was, there wasn't anything very obvious that would work for sure, every option could end poorly for them no matter what.

Location: Inside the Presidential Suite

Flynn was really glad that Bonnie was okay, and honestly, from what he could tell that Kwassi guy was a bit of a piece of work who had no idea what it was that he was doing or something. "I mean we all technically start somewhere, so what if he's a bit new at it, he'll catch on eventually," Flynn said with a bit of a shrug, even while Bonnie more or less called the guy an idiot for thinking a Skrull was a robot. "And honestly still not sure what situation or whatever you all are talking about with regards to the robot thing... But eh whatever, we have bigger things to worry about than that."

The cats, that was the big plan? Also who would want more than one Goose around? Not to mention he was pretty sure that Goose thought he should be the only one around like him, so he wondered what was going through Goose's head with regards to the other Flerkens. "...Using a bunch of Flerkens is a bit of a... Strange idea, at least in my head... But I mean, it is shown that Goose can at least detect other Skrulls, so that's something I guess... Still this doesn't sound like the best plan, and one that like all the other options could go wrong in an instant."

Location: Outside the Presidential Suite
Skills: N/A

The conversations were definitely interesting to him, that was for sure. The one between Kwassi and Bonnie where she was essentially calling him an idiot and pointing out in every way how he was wrong was amusing. Now he kind of wish he had been able to see the entire situation that they were referring to. Since that just sounded hilarious at least with regards to everything that was being spoken about. Of course, now that the others were mentioning it, the idea of just using the cats didn't sound like the best, at all really. There had to be a better more complete solution that could fix everything.

Others (including the idiot Kwassi) were making fair points, that allying with the Skrulls would likely cause the Kree to turn their attention towards Earth. Thinking for a moment, Alex finally came up with something that might work. "Wait, the Skrull and the Kree are at war, and us allying with the Skrulls might cause the Kree to turn their attention to Earth right? Well what if, bare with me on this one, what if the Princess when she took the throne immediately goes to try and end the war. Usually, not sure how things work in space, but here on Earth at least when two countries are at war with one another, if they want to start peace talks you need a third party to sort of act as mediator. No matter what happens in this situation, we are likely going to piss someone off, so why don't we try to at least start some intergalactic peace talks and Earth acts as the third party. We screw this up and we piss of the Kree anyway and draw their attention to us and our existence, so why don't we help the princess take the throne, and then try to end the Kree Skrull war so that maybe Earth doesn't get attacked by the Kree next. Just a sort of suggestion. Not entirely sure how things work in space, but that's kind of how things work here. No matter what we do, we're screwed, but that might be the best option in this scenario anyway. Since then if we help the princess and then end the war, the Kree might not attack us, which is the main thing we are worried about in this whole thing." It was only a suggestion, but currently it was the only idea that he really had.

The Geneva Convention.: 8:30 A.M.

Inside the Presidential Suite...

Anelle grimaced at the idea of letting the flerkens out on her people to consume them, even temporarily. She knew that the skrulls at the convention were following the Empress, and she truly believed that they were just misguided and could be reasoned with. Perhaps it was her inexperience or naiveness, but she really wanted to try to give them all a second chance before sentencing them to certain death. Consumption by flerken was considered cruel and unusual punishment in several regions of the galaxy. At least this wouldn't be real death - just a temporary consumption. "I.... suppose," she said to Evelyn's idea.

"... That might work," Captain Marvel said, considering. "I'd trust Goose to cough people back up, so as long as he could keep the other flerkens in line... Although I've also never seen a living person come back from a flerken's stomach - I don't know if whatever acid is in there won't just kill them anyways."

"Yeah, I know," Tony told Oliver. "Hope you sleep with one eye open, kid. I hold grudges." He didn't know too much about space politics, but Tony was able to more or less pick up the ideas being tossed around. "How about we tell both the kree and the skrull to go have their pissing contest on another planet? I'm sure you're great, Princess Zelda, but Earth is closed right now."

Bonnie nodded at Oliver's question. "That's what Mar-Vell explained to us," she agreed. "If we ally with the skrulls, we'll be placed into the Kree-Skrull war. If we look too competent in defeating the skrulls, the kree will attack us. And if we ask the kree for help, we'll be forced into their empire." There was no winning if they picked either side. She was skeptical of Princess Anelle's intentions, largely because Bonnie believed that royalty was inherently corrupt, no matter the galaxy. She nodded slightly at Kwassi, not saying much else to him. She was chewing on her lip, trying to find the best solution - if there was even a better solution than the one they had already produced.

"Thought the idea was that it just looks like a wild flerken pack," Raynor said to Kwassi, shrugging his shoulders. Flerken were kind of like cockroaches. They were hard to get rid of and tended to multiply. It wouldn't be too entirely shocking for some flerken to get the Empress, especially if Princess Anelle took power soon after. If anything, the kree would probably be more suspicious of an internal coup than Midgard taking a formal stance in the war.

"I agree with Surtursen," Raynor then said, referring to Flynn. "It is a shit plan." The only issue was he couldn't really think of a better one. They were in a hard spot. And after his own home planet had been destroyed in Ragnarok, Raynor didn't want to have to go to Asgard for help. He didn't want to send this universe's version of his father off to war against the Kree and the Skrulls. He didn't want Sparky and their child anywhere near the horrors of war.

"Oooh, that's a posh idea! We could have the Earth Peace Accords or something!" Amelia gushed. She had joined SHIELD out of her own daredevil pilot tendencies, but she also strongly believed in helping people. Ending wars rather than starting them was exactly what she had signed up for. And how cool would it be to have more alien worlds available for them to explore? She had to imagine that the Kree-Skrull war was causing a bit of a traffic jam up in space.

"Is that something you would consider, Princess?" Hill asked.

Anelle nodded. "My lover is kree. This war... It's senseless. The kree cannot be moved by emotional pleas, only those in solid logic. We would have to find a way to convince their Supreme Intelligence that peace is the logical way forward... but it is possible."

"Then let's do that. Let's overthrow the Empress and bring peace to the galaxy," Bonnie said.

"Ugh, it's like we're in a bloody Star Wars flick - I love this! Raynor, y'know, you kinda look like one of the blokes from the new films. Not the one who was a Jedi, the other one, the pilot. You should check them out, it's super uncanny."

"... I get that a lot," Raynor admitted.

There was then a knock at the door. "Erm, cat delivery?" Mar-Vell's voice called out.

"The plan works pretty well for me." Evelyn said she wasn't really much of a negotiator or anything like that really she just hoped that the peace talks would go smoothly as well. She looked towards Alex for a moment since it was his idea and him being the President of the United States, he could represent Earth. "We'd need someone to represent Earth for the talks though once we get Princess Anelle onto the throne itself." Evelyn said.

She knew that if they allied with the Skrulls then the Kree would force them into the war as well, so being the neutral party would probably be the best thing for the talks. Evelyn turned towards the door hearing the knocking and Mar'Vell's voice, she got up from where she was and opened the door and smiled towards her. "Welcome to the party." Evelyn said towards her.

"I was kind of hoping you'd keep him pinned to the ground." Maria said to Black Widow jokingly as she looked at Kwassi and then Oliver and shrugged slightly. "Don't see you guys suggesting anything." Maria said as she listened to Alex as he proposed his plan after overthrowing the Empress and putting Anelle onto the throne. If they could end their little intergalactic war then it should hopefully make things easier for everyone involved, and she hoped that they'd still neutral even if the negotiations didn't go as planned.

"We might want to find something slightly off planet for the talks maybe like out in orbit or something, since the last two times aliens invaded, kinda didn't go super well. Plus i'm not sure how the other world leaders here would take to a sudden intergalactic peace talks here." Maria said referring to Loki's invasion of New York a few years ago and Thanos' attempt on finding Oliver here and destroying Cardiff. Maria heard the knocking on the door and hearing another woman's voice as Evelyn opened the door. She wasn't sure who the new woman was really but she was delivering the kitty army so she assumed she was on their side.

Cassandra looked towards Alex actually liking his plan for trying to remain a neutral party for peace talks between the Skrulls and the Kree. "The plan sounds good to me." Cassandra said as she looked towards Maria she did have a bit of a point she just hoped that the peace talks would go easily. She just hoped that they would be able to overthrow the skrull's current leader without to much of a big issue really as Cass turned towards the door and Evelyn opened the door.

Seeing that it was Mar-Vell she smiled having the Flerekens that they needed to get rid of the skrulls and hopefully Goose would be able to train them to release the skrulls so that Anelle could convince them to join her. "Thank you for bringing them with you over here." Cassandra said to Mar-Vell.

An Oli of months or even weeks ago would have shuddered at Tony's threat, but he merely exhaled and said, "Trust me. I do." Yelling at the infantile god of a man right now would only make things worse, and they had more important things to worry about than the ego of Stark being bruised from him breaking into a system in his pursuit to help save the world. On the much more important note of dealing with the skull threat, he felt iffy about trying to negotiate peace between the intergalactic Hatfields and Mccoys, but that might be the best for everyone, even if he didn't make it a top priority over the safety of the planet.

A brief alternative plan ran through his head, instead, if they killed the queen, they could stage a fake battle with the newly allied skrulls, and make the confrontation look as close as they wanted, but then he stopped, a pause in his thoughts. He thought back to the fears he saw in the hospital, and evil Oliver, one that stopped caring about any form of greater good. It occurred to him that, being jaded, or singularly focused on goals regardless of the broader consequences was exactly the sort of thing that would lead to him becoming that. With that in mind, he nodded and said, "If we need an Earth representative, I can't think of anybody better than Steve Rogers." he suggested. He was just about the most moral man he could think of, his integrity would make him excellent for the job.

The argument was getting pretty circular in Niah's mind. She was ready to get into action. Or at least plan. They could figure out if they were going to all the Skrulls friends later...later. She was about to say something when the Princess said something that caught her attention. Her SO was Kree. There was one Kree that Niah knew, Dr. Larson. Who had said that she had an SO that was Skrull. What were the chances that Dr. Larson and the Princess were a couple?

Just as that thought crossed her mind. Dr. Larson was there with the Flerkens. Niah's attention shot to her, then quickly to the Princess to see if there was recognition between the two. Was she right?

"I think it is perfectly reasonable to make it seem like a wild Flerken attack. That seems within their style from what I've seen. Goose sometimes just eats people that he doesn't like." Most of that was actually second-hand information. Matt was honestly surprised that they hadn't had more issues with the number of people that had gone missing from the team because Goose had decided he was going to eat them. Though most of those people had been Hydra agents.

It was a good thing they had had Goose with them. If it had just been Niah trying to confirm that Maria and Flynn were the real deal they might have had more issues. And the guns probably wouldn't have gone away as quickly. He glanced at Niah seeing that she was looking between Dr. Larson and the Princess like they were playing tennis. He wondered what was going through her head. Was it because they were from different sides of the war? Did she expect tension?

"I'll take one of them off your hands, Doctor." He looked up as Dr. Larson entered and offered to help bring in the other Flerkens.

Kwassi Asokho

Location: Presidential Suite

Kwassi hated to admit it, but The President made a good point. Perhaps the best way to avoid the ire of one side or another was to become an intermediary for peace talks between the two warring nations. Granted he knew little to nothing about what exactly they were warring over and if either side was even in the right of it. Kwassi's biggest concern was that he didn't want Jakobsen to volunteer for intermediary. Not only did he distrust his ability to do so, but having the leader of one Nation be chosen for talks while all the others on the planet got ignored would send out a bad sign and incite issues here on Earth.

Luckily Jakobsen had suggested no such thing, with the only real suggestion being brought out as Steve Rogers. Though his moral was solid, he wasn't sure how well that would be taken. "If I may make a suggestion for another Negotiator aside from Rogers. Nick Fury. The man practically doesn't exist and isn't truly affiliated with any government being that we do not technically exist. It is as neutral as neutral gets and would potentially keep any issues from arising here on Earth if anyone was to somehow find out."

The Geneva Convention.: 10:10 A.M.

Inside the Presidential Suite...

Anelle's eyes watered, not because of the discussion turning towards who would speak for Earth, but because of who was at the door. It had been so long since she had seen her beloved - or their child. "Mar-Vell?" she squeaked out, as tears started to rush down her face. The princess moved quickly, embracing the scientist tightly. Mar-Vell dropped the cat carrier she had been holding and the flerkens inside meowed in protest, but Mar-Vell was too stunned.

"Annie? Is it really you?" Mar-Vell murmured, crying as well as she hugged her betrothed, her soulmate, the mother of their child - their son, Dorrek-Vell.

"It is," Anelle mumbled, before standing up on her tip-toes and kissing Mar-Vell deeply.

"Awww," Tony commented, looking a little misty-eyed himself.

"Someone's gone soft," Black Widow commented, looking over at Tony with a smirk.

"Don't be bitter, Romanoff. I'm sure there's a three eyed assassin out there just dying to meet you," he teased.

"Ugh, get a room you two," Hill complained. "The Avengers, not you two ladies - you look very sweet together. And as much as I'm sure there are plenty of joyous reunions to be had, the sooner we handle this situation the better."

Mar-Vell nodded, pulling away from Anelle, but still standing right by her side. "Right, of course. The mission. The flerkens are ready to go."

"Mars could be a good choice for an off planet location. Don't think the inhumans would really want to see any kree on the moon, there's bad history there," Captain Marvel explained, smiling slightly at the reunion between Mar-Vell and Anelle. They were really cute together. It brought her hope too, hope that their peoples could get along and the war could really end. Maybe they could even unite and form a Kree-Skrull Empire, led by Mar-Vell and Anelle.

"Isn't Captain America a fugitive right now?" Amelia asked. "Otherwise, would totes agree. Huge fan of his." She wasn't all too certain on how politics played out and how long it would take for Jakobsen and all to clear Captain America's name. It might not even be enough for them to formally pardon him, if public opinion was still bad. But then again, did how someone was perceived on Earth really matter when it came to space politics?

Carol did laugh as Kwassi suggested Fury. "I think Fury'd just shout motherfucker at everyone until they stopped fighting."

"I don't want to be rude about this, but it isn't really up to us to decide who the negotiator is. That's between the kree and the skrull, who they're willing to listen to. And it's also something that we can figure out later. Right now, it's time to act," Bonnie stressed. She could see people getting sidetracked, worrying about details that weren't really theirs to fret over. They were agents of SHIELD and the mission was to save the Earth - they could figure out intergalactic peace treaties later.

"I don't mind being rude here - this all sounds like politician crap that I'm not majorly interested in. Let Jakobsen and his buddies and the Princess and all figure it out."
Then...

Cats, cats everywhere! With stealth unknown to humankind, the flerkens moved throughout the Geneva Convention. No one paid too much mind to the cats, too busy talking to other political figures and making plans to make themselves richer and other people poorer (because capitalism, baby!). No one noticed the occasional politician vanish, followed by a cat licking their lips and meowing innocently. No one saw Goose directing the other cats, pointing with his tail where they needed to go next to check for skrulls.

And no one noticed the small parade of flerkens headed for the United States' Presidential Suite, all of them looking MUCH chubbier than when the day had started....

And Now...

However, the Secret Warriors, Avengers, and others in the Presidential suite would definitely notice as Goose started hacking, only to then cough up the Skrull Empress - Empress Veranke. "-going to KILL YOU!" Veranke screamed as she was coughed up, splayed out on the floor.

"Mother, don't shout," Anelle said sternly. "It's unbecoming of someone of your station."

"What - Anelle?!" Veranke exclaimed. "Is this your attempt at a coup, you stupid girl?" she said with a laugh. She then began to grow in size, until she resembled a Hulk. Veranke then looked over her shoulders. "For those wondering what's going on, check the wiki. In this universe, I have all of She-Hulk's powers. And we all know what Hulks do best... They smash!"

Veranke then rushed forward and snatched Anelle. She wrapped her hand around Anelle's neck and the princess started gasping, struggling to breathe. "Now, you are all going to stand down, or the bitch dies."

Well, the plan to get the Skrulls far away from all of the chaos was a good thing, or at least it all went off without a hitch. The Flerkens had gone in and more or less just scooped up all of the skrulls and waltzed on back to the presidential suite. Hopefully no one would really get too suspicious of what the hell was going on with the cats and why a few people were just disappearing randomly or whatever. Here was hoping anyway, and he had to stop himself from laughing when the Empress got tossed out of Goose's mouth. When she grabbed a hold of Anelle and threatened her, his brain started trying to come up with a possible solution.

Thinking about it, there was something that he could try. He just wasn't too sure if it would actually work. The nice thing about the work he did before he was president, was that he knew a lot about magic, including a few minor spells that might be useful. As long as they actually worked somewhat right? "Congelo in loco," he said, waving his hands ever so slightly and there was a bright flash of blue light as the Empress suddenly was frozen in place. "...Wait that actually worked?" he commented, sounding surprised. In all honesty, Alex had not expected that to work, he'd never really done any sort of magic before, so that was new.

It wasn't the best of plans, but at least the cats seemingly followed Goose's directions (which honestly was a bit insane to think about, but things like that hadn't surprised him for a while since joining SHIELD). Everything was a bit strange with this group, considering they were fighting a bit of an alien invasion currently, so yup, no time to really be weirded out by it. Things were getting heated up though once Goose spat the Empress out, and she started threatening Anelle, before she grabbed her by the throat making it difficult for the Skrull princess to breathe. Flynn was wondering if just hitting the Empress with fire would loosen her grip on the princess.

However, how to deal with the Empress was apparently a really simple solution, as the freaking president did some weird thing that quite literally froze her in place. "Now that is cool," he commented, before racing forward and managing to get Anelle out of her grip and down onto the ground and away from the Empress. Unfortunately, right then the Empress unfroze and kicked him where it hurt and he ended up getting knocked backwards, "Ouch..." he muttered under his breath cause ow that hurt, before getting up off the ground again. "Are you alright princess?" he asked Anelle.

Chaos, that was the best way to describe what happened once the cats returned with the Skrulls, the skrulls that obviously included the Empress. She of course, was not happy with being swallowed by a Flerken and then spat back out again, and she was starting to sit there and threatening everyone. Her attention turned towards the princess as the Empress instantly lunged for her, and Sparky was prepared to send off a shock of electricity. Sure if she did that, it might hurt the princess, but it would stun Veranke hopefully long enough for Anelle to get free, but luckily she wouldn't have to do that as others sprung into action first.

With the princess free because of the president and Flynn, she had no reason to hold back the massive lightning bolt that she shot off right towards Veranke, managing to hit her with enough force that for a few moments, she actually shifted back into not Hulk looking normal Skrull form. Of course this lasted only a moment before she shifted back and Veranke made a grab for her, missing grabbing her by the neck but unfortunately she did manage to grab her hair and yanked on it. "Let go!" she snapped as she sent another blast of electricity. The bolt was weaker than her initial one, but it was enough to force her to let go, allowing Sparky to move away from the Empress.

Maria Novikova

Location: Intside the Presidential Suite
Skills: Life-Force Absorption & Power Absorption

It didn't take to long for the Flerekens to come back Maria noticed that they were a lot chubbier than they were before, as Goose came in a few seconds later to hack out the Empress out onto the ground. Which to her was pretty entertaining to watch, before Empress Veranke shifted into a Hulk form, talking to someone else by the looks of it. Before grabbing Princess Anelle by the neck, Maria slowly started to take off her gloves, when the President casted a spell causing the empress to freeze. Luckily Flynn managed to get the princess to safety, and then Sparky went in for an attack, grabbing her friend by the hair managing to zap the empress to let go of her.

"How about picking on someone who isn't pregnant?" Maria said as she ran forward jumping onto Empress Veranke's back grabbing both sides of her head. She decided to do something that she never really tried before, draining enough from someone to knock them out, feeling Empress' life-force going through her feeling a lot stronger as well. She continued to drain the empress until she fell to the ground, she quickly released her grip and stumbled backwards, and looked down at her and then over towards the others a little bit stunned.

Evelyn reached for her throwing knives she had hidden under her sleeve as Goose came into the room, along with the army of Flerkens and ended up puking up Empress Veranke onto the ground. She shifted into a hulk form, and was about to throw a knife when she realized that the Princess was held her neck and choking the princess. When Alex managed to freeze him Flynn managed to escort the princess to safety, and then Sparky attacking next causing the empress to shift back temporarily before shifting back to grab her by the hair.

Then Maria jumped onto the empress' back she wasn't sure what the other woman's powers were, but whatever she was doing the empress started to shift back, and then collapsed onto the ground and Maria getting off of her. "That was a little bit easier than I thought it would be actually." Evelyn said putting away her knife.

Cassandra Reed

Cassandra was surprised that the cat attack plan actually worked, and Goose managed to puke the empress out without to much of an issue, and then the fighting started rather quickly as the Empress went in and grabbed the princess. She looked towards Alexander for a moment surprised to see him using some magic. "I didn't expect you to know that." Cassandra said towards him, as Flynn managed to get the princess to safety, and Sparky attacking the empress next barely managing to get free.

She was about to charge forward to fight Empress Veranke herself, when Maria started to use her powers to drain the empress, she was a bit stunned to as Empress Veranke fell to the ground. Cass cautiously walked over towards the fallen empress and knelt down to see if she was breathing or not and checked for any signs of life. "I think she's dead." Cassandra said looking over to Bonnie to confirm it.

Niah had been right. She was happy to see the two reunited. Her heart ached, knowing that her lost love would never be reunited with her. It was time to move on she thought. Then the Flerkens went out to the floor and started collecting Skrulls. When they returned they were all fat with the collected Skrulls and Goose spit out the Empress.

Niah had only had time to lift her ICER when Maria used her power in the most destructive way Niah had ever seen her use it. Maria had in the past pulled too much energy, but never enough to actually kill. At least to her memory. She winced. Would Maria be upset by this or would she be thankful?

Matt hadn't caught the Flerken cage in time, but he apologized to them. After the Flerkens were released he was impressed at how well the plan worked. He had a lot of hope for it, but he was always ready for things to go FUBAR. Especially with this group. When Goose hacked up the Empress like a furball he had to restrain some laughter.

She seemed to be short a few cards though and wasn't making much sense. Matt didn't think Wikipeda would have information on She-Hulk, but he supposed he could look that up later. He was about to move in and use his paralysis when Maria used her absorption power and the Empress fell to the ground. Cass said she was dead and looked to Bonnie to confirm it. That fight had gone way easier than they had anticipated. Maybe because there had only been one enemy. Now things would get political.

Oliver Sullivan

Location: Inside Presidential Suite
Skills: N/A

As Goose vomited the Empress onto the ground, Oliver was already getting ready to perform an execution. His mind was racing with possibilities, ready to phase his hands through her neck and rip her head off, or any number of gruesome brutalities, but he was shocked by several of the things that happened before him, namely the transformation of the skrull empress into a hulk-esque monster. That dampered pretty much all of what he would want to try, not having many contingencies for iron-skinned rage beasts. His immediate plan was to find something sharp and try to phase it into her, but it seemed like Maria and the president actually had everything on lock.

As Maris seemed to kill the Empress with a touch, watching the life force literally drain out of her and into Maria, Oliver had moon flashbacks for a moment, remembering how Sparky had also borderline annihilated somebody with her own powers. It was for sure one of his blind spots, not knowing the mass of power that his team possesed, and for sure something that he had to reassess in the future. Feeling the whiplash from how quickly that had ended, Oliver cracked his fingers and said, "Well uh, that was... anti-climatic. Anybody who doesn't have a tiny human in them, wanna grab a drink?" He asked, personally borderline incapable of actually becoming intoxicated due to his metabolism.

Kwassi Asokho

Location: Presidential Suite
Skills: Photographic Memory : 16,

Kwassi couldn't help but laugh at Carol's idea of how Furys "Peace Talks" would go. To be frank, it sounded spot on and exactly the reason he had suggested Fury. Sure his vocabulary may have consisted of punctuating most statements or words with a good Mother Fucker, but in the end it would get the job done that was needed. But it appeared Bonnie didn't want to have that conversation right now and so Kwassi kept his mouth shut and allowed for their plan to move forward. The Flerkens worked with incredible stealth and efficiency. Kwassi was amazed at how many they had managed to detain and bring back towards the suite.

When The Empress was spat out, Kwassi instantly pulled out his escrimas from behind his back, under his jacket. Watching as she grew to Hulkian size and seemingly losing her wits about her along with it. He magnetized the two together and extended them into his staff, hoping the vibranium weapon would be enough to deal damage to her. But The others acted quickly and Maria's touch was more than enough to kill the Empress. Kwassi stood, stunned, mouth threatening to go agape as he watched the scene play out. He snapped back once Oli had spoken up, bringing the idea of getting drinks. Kwassi shot him a wink before speaking. "I'll grab a drink with you, though I feel it's a bit unfair given your metabolism."

The Geneva Convention.: 10:20 A.M.

Inside the Presidential Suite...

"....Mother?" Anelle cried out, her eyes wide. She gulped slightly and tried to compose herself, but she couldn't. Empress Veranke was a monster, but she was still her mother. Almost everything the humans had done had been cruel and violent. She hadn't known that they were going to kill the Empress - she had been imagining that the Empress would be imprisoned.

"It's okay," Mar-Vell murmured, pulling Anelle into a hug. "It was the logical thing to do. She wasn't going to stop."

"You can end the war now," Captain Marvel added gently. "The throne's yours... Empress Anelle."

Raynor wasn't against the Empress having been killed - in fact, he probably would've killed the Empress himself for the way she had attacked his pregnant lover. He had the feeling that Anelle wouldn't be helped by anything he had to say, so he just remained quiet. Bonnie was wondering whether or not they had really done the right thing - if they'd really be able to end the war. Anelle seemed so fragile and naive... A part of her was worried that Anelle would simply declare war on Earth for the death of her mother. Amelia, meanwhile, was just so happy that they had completed their mission objectives - that it was over! And she got to meet loads of cool people and fly Air Force One. She was already planning on asking Jakobsen if he ever wanted to race planes together or something.

"Will you end the war, Empress?" Hill asked, perhaps having the same uncertainty Bonnie did.

"... Of course," Anelle said. "I gave you my word."

Bonnie glanced at Cass. She had a bad feeling about this.

"Well then, great job everyone, can't wait for the commemorative t-shirt," Tony said. "Let's get the hell out of here. I need a fucking cheeseburger."

SOME TIME LATER....

"You did WHAT?!" Tony Stark screamed, flinging the door open.

It was a nice, upscale restaurant in upstate New York. For whatever reason, Professor X always insisted on this place, claiming that he could never find handicapped parking elsewhere. Everyone else suspected this was a load of bullshit, of course, as Professor X took the Blackbird to these meetings and there was no such thing as handicapped stealth jet parking. Seated at a corner booth were members of the mysterious group called the Illuminati: Doctor Stephen Strange, Master of the Mystic Arts; Professor Charles Xavier, founder of the X-Men; Brian Braddock, Captain Britain; Doctor Reed Richards, Mister Fantastic; King T'Challa of Wakanda, the Black Panther. T'Challa glanced up from a bite of caviar, whereas Strange didn't even bother lifting his eyes from his tea.

"I'm afraid you'll have to be more specific, Anthony," Professor X replied pedantically. "We all do many things. For instance, this morning I brushed my teeth, although I doubt you're much interested in that."

"I performed heart surgery on a mountain troll," Strange mused.

Tony shot Strange a look. "Don't play dumb with me, I know what you all did, it's kind of hard to not notice the Hulk in the room - or the lack of one!"

Captain Britain averted his eyes. He wished that he could've excused himself to the restroom, but he was sitting in between T'Challa and Professor X, and he didn't want to squeeze on past someone in a wheelchair. It'd be a huge hassle and even more awkward than Tony confronting them over what they had done - what they had all been complicit in. The only ones who didn't look mildly uneasy with the situation were Doctor Strange, Mister Fantastic, and Professor X - all three of them bonafide assholes.

"You need to think about this logically, Tony. Banner was a risk to every person on this planet. It's for the greater good that we--" Mister Fantastic started to explain.

"That you shot him off into space?! Like he was fucking Sputnik?!" Tony interjected.

"He had plenty of opportunities to get the Hulk under control. The Hulk had already killed innocent people and no prison here could hold him. Frankly, if we were capable of it, he ought've been killed," Professor X said harshly. "I know that Banner was your friend, Tony - but if he were here, I'm sure he would understand."

"You could've asked him!" Tony snapped. "And we agreed we were NOT going to shoot him off into space! Yes, the Hulk is a monster but he's a helpful monster. Also, what's the point in having this secret boy band if you listen to the fucking cowbell player instead of the lead singer/guitarist?"

Strange glanced up from his tea. "If you're so upset, Stark, why don't you go get him instead of whining to us about it?" he asked bluntly.

"Actually, he won't be able to," Professor Xavier interjected. He put a hand to the side of his head. "Did you remember to wear your psionic dampeners today, Anthony?" he asked, before smiling ever so slightly. There was a flash of red and violet in his eyes. "It would appear not. You're going to forget all about this. Like the rest of the world, you'll assume the Hulk has wandered off and does not wish to be found. It's for the best... And you will forget you were ever a part of the Illuminati. If you try to recall the existence of this group, it will slip through your mind like water running through your fingers."

"Lastly, Anthony... If you should get between us and our interests... I am your daughter's tutor. You'd do best to remember that."

Cassandra Reed & Mathew Moss

Only once before had Matt had this conversation with someone. It seemed right to do now. Even though he and Cass hadn't been dating a full year, it felt right. He hadn't gotten a ring or anything. This conversation was just testing the waters. He had asked Cass to join him on a date out to the Chinese Restaurant they had had their first date at. He was dressed up and walked to her room and knocked on the door.

Cassandra was finishing up getting things ready for their date, things managed to slow down somewhat after the Skrull's tried to invade so any downtime was nice. She perked up a little bit when she heard the knock on the door and made her way to toward it opening the door she was wearing a black dress. "Hey, there how are you?" She asked leaning in and giving Matt a loving kiss.

Matt kissed Cass back. Kissing Cass was very pleasant, and Matt considered asking her back into the room for dessert before dinner. "You look fantastic." He said when they finally parted coming up for air. "Ready?" He offered his arm, when she took it the pair of them walked to the garage. They drove to the restaurant chatting about random things. Once there they were sat at a small table since it was just the two of them.

Cass smiled at Matt as they got into the restaurant and sat down across from him, she was happy to just be out of the HUB for a little bit and spending her time with her boyfriend. "Thank you for the date, you look great by the way as well." She said gently reaching over to gently hold onto his hand.

"Thank you." Matt smiled. He enjoyed Cass's compliments they always felt sincere. "I wanted to have a talk with you. Sort of testing of the water and see if you were happy with me and if you wanted to consider the future." Matt figured being straightforward for this type of talk was always for the best. Communication was an important part of relationships and you couldn't beat around the bush when talking about the future.

"Your welcome." Cass said to Matt as she smiled towards him, as he went straight to the point which she did admire as she gently gave Matt's hand a squeeze. "I am really happy to be with you, and I do see a future with you." She told him, she was being honest she did love Matt and she was always happy to be around him whenever they didn't have to save the world from either aliens or groups like HYDRA trying to take over the world.

Matt sighed and a happy smile spread across his face. He lifted Cass's hand to her to his lips and kissed it gently. "Good. I am happy being with you too. I want a future." He paused and gave her hand a squeeze back. "You know I can't have children right? The gender reaffirmation surgery takes away the ability to carry them, and doesn't give me the other side of the coin." He wasn't certain how to say that without being crude so he went for the metaphor. "Do you want children?" It was an important question considering both Bonnie and Sparky were having kids now.

Cass gave Matt a loving smile as he kissed her hand, and then the topic of children came up she knew that Matt couldn't physically give her one, and due to her skin being impenetrable. It kind of made medical treatment for her extremely hard needles would simply break and fighting against Folly confirmed that as well after getting slashed by her daggers multiple times, before going for the eye. And even getting the M-Pox cure out of her was really difficult. "I do want to have kids someday, but any kind of medical intervention would probably make it difficult to carry a child to full term." She knew that Maria just had her baby, and Sparky's was pretty soon, and Bonnie was expecting now as well to.

"Would you be alright with adoption then?" That really was their only option left. Matt didn't know enough about artificial insemination worked, but it probably required needles. "I wouldn't mind adopting." His smile, he hadn't given much thought to children for most of his life.

"I'm completely fine with going through with adoptions." Cassandra said, she thought it was a really nice thing to do taking a child who didn't have parents and were in the system for a better home she was glad that they were on the same page as well to.

"I suppose that takes us to the next important question. Do you want to look at rings?" There were some more questions Matt wanted to ask, and he wasn't entirely certain he was going about this the way some women would like. He hoped that Cass was alright with it. He had done the cute thing with his ex-fiance, he didn't feel it was necessary now. They would also need to decide where they wanted to make their home. With their current work, San Fransisco was the only option. But that could change. Would they want to stay in the US? They both were from London, would they want to raise their kid there or here in the US?

Cass was a little bit surprised when he asked if she wanted to start looking for rings, which made her blush some more as she looked into his eyes before leaning in and giving him a loving kiss. "Yes, I would love that a lot." She said as Cassandra gave him another quick kiss, as she sat back. She wasn't sure where she'd want to actually settle down in, though they could figure all that out together as well, maybe getting a place in the city instead of living on base all the time. "Maybe we could find an apartment together in the city somewhere?" She suggested.

Matt returned Cass's kiss. He was happy. He was excited too. "I suppose I should do this properly later." He gave Cass a crooked grin as she settled back into her seat. "I think an apartment here would be nice. We're going to have some decisions to make." At this point the waiter came by and took their order. Matt took Cass's hands into his caressing them gently with his thumb. "I'm excited though. I haven't been this happy in a long time."

"I definitely expect to be surprised when you actually do." Cassandra said teasingly as their waiter came over and took their order, while still gently squeezing Matt's hand. "I'm excited to and i'm really glad that you are happy." She said softly while tucking a strand of hair behind her ear. "Do you have any other surprises in store for tonight?"

"Well I know some people don't like it to be an event. Good to know I can make it one for you." Matt grinned and soaked in Cass's beauty. "If I told you that would it still be a surprise?" Matt laughed. "That is to say I don't have any more hard hitting questions. We know what we need to talk about going forward." He leaned back in his seat some. "I do however have plans for dessert so keep some room."

Cass smiled some as she leaned back in her seat and laughed slightly. "True it wouldn't really be a surprise if you did tell me." She said as she smiled. "I'll be sure to have enough room for some dessert then."

The rest of dinner consisted of the two of them talking about random things. Some of it was their ideas for the future, others were about their friends and their excitement for the ones who were having (or just had) children. Matt paid for dinner and then led Cass outside. "Do you want to walk or drive? It is about a mile and a half, which since it is San Francisco and they don't believe in flat streets will take about thirty minutes. There is parking where we are going too." He told her.

Cassandra spent their entire dinner smiling and enjoying just talking about their future plans, as she finished up eating the rest of her dinner, she looked over towards him and thought for a moment. Though walking would be more romantic she didn't have the right shoes really to walk that far. "I'm fine with driving there." Cass said, as Matt went ahead and paid for their dinner and stood up offering her hand and smiling.

Matt held her hand until they got to the car, there he opened the door for her. Once both of them were in the car he held her hand again. It was so lovely just spending time with her. They drove to Ghirardelli Square and found parking in the lot nearby. The downside of parking in San Francisco is it cost a lot, but it was better than the hike would have been. "Are you ready for the best hot chocolate of your life?"

Cass smiled as she held onto Matt's hand the entire time it was a really lovely night as they drove, when they got there she turned to look at him and smiled. She did love having hot chocolate, especially during the winter. "I am ready to get some, my sister and I would always get some whenever it was cold out."

"I didn't know that. Should we have invited your sister too?" He grinned, clearly joking. It didn't help that Cass's sister lived on the other side of the United States. Inside they were greeted by the warm smell of chocolate wafting from every corner. The place was busy, even for the hour. Thankfully the line was pretty short, but it did take them past all sorts of packages of different chocolates they sold. "Do you want any for later?" He asked.

"I'm pretty sure she isn't like Pietro or anything like that." Cass said with a slight laugh as they entered the shop, taking in the lovely smell of the chocolate in the room. "Trying to fatten me up spoil me already or something?" Cassandra said giggling a bit before wrapping her arm around his. "I'd love some to take back."

Matt was glad she thought his joke was funny and even continued it. "I'm definitely trying to spoil you. Speaking of your sister. I think I should meet her before the whole getting engaged and married thing happens." He said leaning into her arm and kissing her on the cheek. Since they were about the same height he couldn't kiss her on the top of the head which is what he wanted to do. He silently cursed his genes for not making him a bit taller. "I know she's been through a lot lately, but I think we should fly her out for Christmas." Thanksgiving might work too, but that was such an American holiday Matt had never really celebrated it. This solidified his plan though. He knew when and where and how he would ask Cass to marry him.

"I'm glad that I'll be treated like a princess then." Cassandra said to Matt as she smiled as he kissed her on the cheek and thought for a moment. "I'm sure she'd love to come down and visit here, we could video call her sometime that way you can get to meet her too if you want." She offered. "Christmas would work perfectly, we can work on getting her here then too." She said.

"Yeah, we should do a video call." It would be good to meet Carolina in a somewhat neutral way first. He did not want his first impression for Cass's sister to be Christmas. He should also make sure he got her a good Christmas gift. He let Cass pick out some chocolate and then they made their way to the front of the line to place their hot chocolate order. There were other options like sundaes and milkshakes, but Matt had really wanted a good cup of hot chocolate. Once the order was placed, he was given a receipt with a number on it and they moved out of the way. "Hopefully we have a quiet Christmas." Matt chuckled remembering the previous year's Christmas had been quite an adventure.

"Or actually we could fly out to New York Carolina and I actually share the same birthday, just a few years apart that way you can meet her in person to." Cass suggested looking over at Matt as he went ahead and started to take their order, she picked out the kind of chocolate that she wanted giving Matt another kiss on the cheek. She shook her head slightly remembering that Deadpool had ended up crashing their little Christmas party, which was both annoying and kind of funny after having to chase him all around town. "I hope we don't run into Deadpool again anytime soon honestly."

Matt gave a bit of a chuckle again. "I was thinking basically the same thing. At least we know my paralytic works on him." He smiled at Cass. "I didn't know you two had the same birthday. That had to be annoying as kids." Matt had a sister, but their birthdays were fairly opposite of each other. "I should take you to visit my parents and sister too." He said thinking about them. It was a good supportive family. He just hadn't seen them since he had joined SHIELD.

"It really wasn't all that annoying growing up, we were pretty close growing up we still are." Cass said to Matt and gave him a smile, her family wasn't really well off growing up poor but they still made the most of things pretty well and her family was close as well. "Well my parents still live in London so maybe we could have a family get together or something."

"That's a good idea. My family is there still. My sister got married a few years back too, but she doesn't have any kids yet. She's only 25." Matt had a sudden funny thought and said, "We both grew up in London but had to travel halfway around the world to meet." Their order was called and Matt got their hot chocolates before stepping out into an outdoor seating terrace. Since it was nice it didn't give the best view, but you could see a bit. Matt wrapped one arm around Cass looking over the railing at the city and the bay. There was a park in view, but there didn't seem to be much activity. "I'll contact my parents and let them know what we're thinking. They'll be ecstatic."

"You think that they all would like me?" Cassandra asked him as she looked over towards Matt as he went to grab their order, and followed him outside she looking over at the park below. Feeling Matt's arm around her waist she smiled and leaned against him slightly feeling very relaxed and content. "It is kind of funny that we didn't meet until now. I'll call my family to and set something up and we can all meet they'll be really happy.

Matt kissed her cheek, "They'll love you. My parents are fairly chill and understanding. It's the only reason I survived my childhood really. They'll be happy to know I've moved on and settled down again." His sister had threatened to punch his ex. "But they'll think you're awesome. You're badass and smart and a fantastic leader. And if they don't guess we won't visit them." He spoke very seriously. He wasn't worried they'd not like her, but he also would stay with Cass even if they didn't like her.

Cass gave Matt a loving smile and leaned in and kissed him as well, she was glad that his parents would accept her. "My parents will like you to, they are really nice people." She told him and smiled towards Matt when he said she was badass, she was more of a computer geek, but the job was great and made her into the person she was now.

Maria Novikova & Dominika Novikova Ft. Baby Diana

Novikova was extremely exhausted. She had ended up needing an emergency C-section, but thankfully everything had turned out fine. Little Diana Niah had successfully come into the world on October 20th, just eleven days away from Halloween. "I can't believe Doctor Strange delivered our baby," Novikova murmured to her wife, Maria. Yes, the emergency C-section had ended up being performed at the West Coast Avengers Headquarters by Doctor Strange. He had been over chatting with the Scarlet Witch about some magic nonsense. They were lucky he had been there. "He's almost my co-worker," Novikova then added, a little hopped up on pain killers.

Maria sat in a nearby chair holding little Diana in her arms sleeping rather soundly in her arms, making sure that she wasn't making direct skin contact with her newborn daughter. After killing the Empress Veranke with her powers she wanted to be extra careful handling her, she turned to her Novi she was glad that Dr. Strange was actually there. "I'm just glad that he was actually around when you went into labor, seems like he's everywhere a lot of the time." Maria said, moving a little bit closer to Novikova. "How are you feeling want me to get you anything?" She asked.

"Vodka?" Novikova asked. She was too out of it to realize that vodka wasn't really going to be much of an option - same thing with coffee, sadly. Breastfeeding more or less meant that whatever she had, little Diana would end up having a little while later.

Maria shook her head slightly as she reached over to run a hand through Novi's hair and shook her head slightly. "Sadly you can't have anything thats alcholic still for another couple of weeks while you are breastfeeding." Maria pointed out, she wished that she could have reversed roles, but her powers would have killed the baby if she ever did become pregnant. "I could order us some food if you'd like?" Maria offered.

Novikova whined, not liking the denial of alcohol. This entire pregnancy thing really sucked. Sure, baby Diana was adorable and everything, but her body had been put through the wringer with all of this. Novikova didn't even know if her body would ever feel normal again. "Fine, then cheeseburgers," Novikova requested, a bit like a petulant child.

"Once we ween her off of breast feeding, we can get Diana I can ask and see if Niah would be willing to watch her. And i'll take you out to as many bars as you want deal?" Maria said to Novi and nodded as she looked towards their daughter still sleeping comfortably. "Do you want to hold her while I put the order in?" She offered, seeing her pouting like a child was kind of cute.

Novikova perked up a bit at that. "Deal," she said. She then nodded, holding her arms up for her baby - she was far too exhausted to get out of the bed to hold her kid, and Diana was sleeping anyways, so she figured she wouldn't mind.

Maria smiled at Novi as she perked up after that. "It's a date then." Maria said as she got up and moved over to gently hand Diana over to Novi's arms. She then pulled out her phone and started to do the order, as she looked over Diana started to wake up slightly and moved her little arms and legs still looking a bit sleepy.

"Aren't you supposed to go on the date before getting pregnant?" Novikova deadpanned. She smiled slightly as Diana started moving around. "Hello, my little pumpkin," she murmured, twirling her finger in front of Diana's nose and then booping her gently.

Maria smiled slightly and shook her head. "Trust me if I could trade places with you I would." Maria said with a slight laugh as she watched Novi holding their daughter Diana would move her little hands to grab Novi's finger after being booped. "She certainly likes you it looks like." Maria said as she finished putting the order in.

Novikova chuckled, letting Diana hold onto her finger. "I'd hope so. She almost got to come out of my vagina," Novikova joked. "In all seriousness though... I think she likes you too."

Maria laughed softly as she watched Diana trying to gum on Novi's finger now. "Of course i'm going to be the fun mom." Maria said jokingly as she looked at her wife for a moment. "Did I miss anything while I was being held by the Skrulls?" Maria asked looking over at her, she was glad that she was able to be there for the birth of their first born together.

Novikova's smile faded. She didn't like being reminded of the fact that her wife had been replaced by an alien and she hadn't noticed. Yes, skrulls were basically perfect shapeshifters but still... It made her skin crawl with shame to think about. "Not really. Things were more or less quiet," Novikova said with a shrug. "There was a Civil War, but I chose not to participate."

Maria reached over with her gloved hand to gently hold Novi's and looked towards her seeing the smile fading. "Well I don't plan on getting kidnapped by aliens anytime soon again." Maria said giving her wife a smile, at least try to anyway she wasn't sure if the Skrulls would end up retaliating for killing their former empress. "I heard that happened to, i'm glad that you didn't join in on that."

"I'll remember that, for the next time aliens abduct you," Novikova promised. "And yeah..." she yawned slightly. "It wasn't really my vibe, you know?"

"Plus you were holding our little one still inside you, I wouldn't want you to get hurt anyway." Maria said giving her a smile seeing her yawning. "I wouldn't have participated in it either if you weren't anyway."

"Scared you'd have no one cool to talk to?" Novikova teased.

"Of course and it would have totally sucked." Maria said teasingly as she looked down at her phone feeling it going off, seeing that their order was on the way now. "The food should be here pretty soon."

"Yaaaay," Novikova deadpanned, but she smirked slightly. She was pretty hungry, even if she wasn't eating for two anymore.

"I'll go and get the food i'll be right back love." Maria said gently running a hand through Novi's hair while she held Diana and headed out of the room to grab their meal.

"Thanks babe," Novikova said with a slight smile, before her stomach growled to punctuate the sentence.

It had been a little while since the situation involving the Skrulls, and Flynn was definitely glad to be back on Earth. Things weren't exactly the best, but he did make good on the little promise he had made to himself on the Skrull ship with regards to going back home to Seattle. He also made good on the thought of dragging Bonnie along with him, whether she really wanted to or not. They currently were at the base of the Space Needle though, "...So, how have you been Bonnie?" he asked her.

"Oh, you know, vacations are famously relaxing," Bonnie joked. It had taken a bit of persuasion from Flynn to get her to come on this trip. She tended to just throw herself more and more into her work, especially the more stressful things became. She wasn't any closer to finding answers about the mysterious voice she had heard or how she hadn't died at the hands of the Black Order. Most of her time was spent in the lab, trying to help out some of the new inhumans who were struggling with their powers since the terrigen bomb earlier that year.

"Come on, Seattle in summer is not that bad, actually though spring and fall are the better seasons, most of the time not too warm, not too cold. Though summertime is when the city gets the most tourists, a lot of people like to visit here... It's been a while since I've been back here sadly..."

Bonnie rolled her eyes slightly. "I never said I didn't like Seattle. The cherry blossoms at the university were really pretty. Although, I'm beginning to think your rain is false advertising. I'll have to report you all to the Better Business Bureau for that."

"Hey listen, Washington State, at least Western Washington State has effectively two seasons and two seasons only. The wet season and the dry season. We are currently in the around 3-4 month period that is the dry season. Wet season is the rest of the year."

She giggled a little bit. "Yes, because wet and dry are vast improvement on fall, winter, spring, and summer," Bonnie teased him. "Can you even tell what time of year it is here based on the trees?" She had grown up in Washington D.C., where there were drastic and visual changes between each of the seasons. Just based on the trees and the flowers, you could tell what time of year it was.

"Nope not really. That is why it is called the Evergreen State, since most of the damn trees look the same year round... Anyway want to go up to the top of the Space Needle or do you want to go into the center house or something like that?"

"Oh, we are totally going to the top of this thing, and then I'm going to buy a dorky keychain with my name on it," Bonnie declared.

"There's actually a restaurant and stuff up there, not just a look out thing, and the gift shop is at the base," he said with a bit of a laugh, before taking her hand and leading her into the base of the Space Needle.

"How much do you want to bet you have to either make a reservation ten years in advance or steal someone's kidney to get a reservation?" Bonnie asked, as she went inside with Flynn. The Space Needle was pretty much the most iconic and recognizable feature of Seattle, so she did feel more or less obligated to go on up it. Maybe she'd get Flynn to take a nice picture of her at the top, so she could update her LinkedIn profile picture.

"...Well here's a surprise for you, since you've never really been in this city or whatever, I decided to try and get a reservation so you could try the food, all honesty I've never been up to the restaurant either, so new experience for both of us since I managed to get the reservation," he said to her.

Bonnie raised an eyebrow. "If you killed someone who had a reservation, and that's how you did this, I'm going to be really angry that you didn't call me to help clean up the crime scene," she told him with a slight smirk.

"Wow you really think the worst of me don't you?" he said with a bit of a laugh heading over for the elevator that would take them to the top. Since the elevator was mostly windows at least they'd be able to see themselves go up into the needle.

"Oh, don't worry, I think the worst of everyone," she said, giggling a bit. It really was a beautiful view, being able to see everything as they went up into the Space Needle. It was a good thing she wasn't afraid of heights.

"Well, glad to see I'm not the only one then," he said with a laugh, as they eventually reached the top. He stepped up and eventually they ended up getting seated at a table in the restaurant. "One of the best views in the city, helps that the thing rotates so you don't look at the same thing constantly... The scenery changes."

Bonnie couldn't help but wonder if anyone ever got motion sick up at the top of the Space Needle while eating - the idea of drunk couples stumbling about and complaining that the restaurant was spinning too fast was definitely amusing to her. "So, what kind of food do you recommend in order to get the authentic Seattle experience?" Bonnie asked, glancing at the menu.

"Anything you want really, this place little high end for what I've ever had before honestly, I've never been to this restaurant so never really had too much thought about the food here... So guess just about anything would work."

"Hmm... I'd ask if you were paying, but I'm pretty sure I make more money than you do," she teased gently. She had a PhD and she had been working at SHIELD longer than he had, it was pretty much a no-brainer that she had a higher salary. "I think I'll get the lobster. It sounds fancy. What about you?"

"Hey! And I am actually paying for it, I'm the one dragging you around Seattle, I might as well," he said with a slight laugh, "And not sure..." when someone came over to take their orders, he just picked something at random (everything on the menu looked like good food to him) and said nothing else really to Bonnie for a moment, just looking out the window.

"No way, I'm paying for the food!" Bonnie argued. She ordered her lobster when the time came, before also asking for a bottle of white wine. She wasn't much into red wine, preferring the sweeter, fruitier taste of white wine - basically, she was all about dessert wine. "It's the least I can do after you butchered someone for this reservation."

"Wow you are so nice, but nope I am paying for it whether you want me to or not."

Bonnie wasn't one to back down from a challenge. "Fine then," she, her tongue poking out slightly from behind her teeth as she smirked. She quickly scanned around the room, before spotting what she assumed to be a lesbian couple at another table. She flagged down a waiter. "Excuse me? I'd like to pay their bill," she said, gesturing towards the couple. When the waiter left, she looked at Flynn as if to say your move.

"Wow so kind, but hey, at least you're helping someone else out," he said to her with a shake of his head.

"I like to win, Frederick," Bonnie said seriously, locking eyes with him.

"Don't call me Frederick... There is a reason why I prefer people calling me by my last name, since that is so formal, and long and kind of a dumb name that I kind of hate."

"Oh, sorry, I was just saying it for dramatic effect - Flynn it is then," Bonnie apologized, her face flushing a bit.

"Don't worry about it Bonnie, honestly. It's fine," he said with a slight laugh, before looking directly at her, "So... How have you been since the whole... Skrull thing..." he decided to ask her. She had answered the question not too long ago, but he figured he'd say the somewhat pressing question in her head.

Bonnie was quiet for a moment, as the events of the skrull invasion came back to mind - particularly what she had done to the skrull posing as Flynn. She didn't like reflecting back on everything that had happened. She wanted to look forward. It was easier that way to pretend that none of it had happened, and even though it did happen, it was all over now so it didn't matter. "I'm fine. Everyone keeps acting like I'm going to fall apart, but I'm not."

"I figured, just wanted to hear it, reassurance is a good thing, and believe it or not I didn't think that you were going to fall apart... And I'm glad that you aren't. Just wanted to ask and hear that."

She relaxed slightly. As much as she knew the importance of mental health, some habits were hard to break. She was more into getting work done than talking about her feelings - which made it all the more ironic when considering how heavily she relied on her own intuition. "I appreciate that - what about you?" she asked.

"I mean... I ended up on a spaceship a long way from Earth... I'm not entirely sure what to think about the whole thing, but I'm fine... Pretty sure of that anyway," he said with a bit of a shrug.

"Did anyone 'accidentally' open the airlock?" Bonnie joked, referencing when their team mate Oliver had exposed them all to the terrigen mists on the Moon. They were really lucky that they had been in the specially terraformed area where the Inhumans lived, as otherwise the lack of oxygen would have been a gigantic problem. She made a mental note to see about quizzing the team on spaceship etiquette.

"No thankfully," he said, laughing a bit now. "Just there I had no idea if we were going to be able to get back to Earth. Especially since didn't know where in the solar system we were, or even if we were in the solar system..."

"...Hey, you know it's okay if you were scared, right?" Bonnie said, before extending her hand across the table.

"Yeah, I'm going to admit that one, I was... A little bit," he responded, taking her hand in his now.

"I don't blame you, Freddie," Bonnie said softly. She rubbed the back of his hand gently with her thumb. "If you ever want to talk about this stuff, I'm here for you."

"Yeah, I know," he said with a bit of a smile, "And I'm grateful for that..."

"And it's definitely not because you have amazing abs," Bonnie then teased.

"Hahaha very funny Bonnie," he said with a bit of a laugh, "I will say... Want to know the one thing that was going through my head while stuck there though?"

"Sure," Bonnie answered, not really sure what to expect.

"...Getting back to you," he said, before he reached into his pocket and pulled out a little box and set it onto the table, pushing it slightly towards her. "The only concern I had, was getting back home, not for myself, but for you."

It wasn't the first time someone had proposed to Bonnie. James had asked her to marry him when they reached a scenic vista on a hike. She still remembered every detail of that day. But right now, Bonnie wasn't thinking about what could have been - she wasn't dwelling on the past. She was thinking about her future. Her heart was pounding, as she opened up the box and saw the ring inside of it. "Oh, Freddie..."

"You don't have to say yes now... Or ever if you don't want to... Just know that you are probably the only reason I didn't go down the mental path of there was no point in trying to get back, that we were out numbered... Trying to get back to you was the only thing that really kept me going..."

Bonnie's eyes were watering. She wiped one with her finger, succeeding in smudging her mascara slightly. "Why wouldn't I say yes?"

"I don't know, doubt in my brain that you are way too good for me? That sort of thing tends to lead to that sort of thinking..."

"Freddie, I love you. I can't change the way you see yourself... but I will marry you."

"...Wait really?" he said, not being able to help but sound surprised.

"Yes, really," Bonnie answered, giggling a little bit.

"I'm glad..." he said, smiling at this point.

"I should hope so, it'd be a bit concerning if you weren't. So, are you going to put a ring on it? I am a bit old fashioned."

Flynn gave her a smile, before he took the ring out of the box and slid it onto her hand, "I love you Bonnie..."

"I love you too, Freddie."

Sparky was currently sitting off in a chair, cradling the little baby in her arms. She couldn't help but smile slightly at little Zarina, though her mind already went with the nickname of Zari to refer to her, who was just sound asleep, for once. Keeping an eye on a newborn was not exactly the easiest thing in the world, given the fact that she liked to wake up several times in the middle of the night. Sparky was relatively tired, but she was happy to have the little girl.

Raynor quietly tiptoed into the nursery, having been off on a special assignment for the director of S.H.I.E.L.D. There had been a lost alien tourist and no one had been able to translate, so they needed Raynor to be their glorified Rosetta stone - a living, breathing, C3PO. "Aww, is it not the most precious thing in the universe, the love of my life?" Raynor whispered, grinning. He then pretended to be startled. "Oh, hey Sparks," he joked. "Didn't see you there."

"You know if I wasn't holding her I probably would have zapped you for that comment," she whispered back to him with a bit of an eye roll at him. "So where were you off to? Leaving me with her by myself, doesn't exactly allow for much sleep you know..."

"Director needed me to translate, but I'm here now to relieve you," Raynor offered

"She just fell asleep," she commented, looking at him, "So try not to wake her up otherwise you'll probably be trying to get her to fall back asleep for a few hours."

"I know, Sparks," Raynor said, before gently taking the baby from her. "Now go get some rest, okay?"

"I don't know... Maybe I should stay up a little bit longer, I'm fine," a part of her wasn't too sure about leaving Zari alone at all, even if it was just her leaving the baby with Raynor.

"...Sparks, what aren't you telling me?" Raynor asked, sitting down with Zari.

"It's nothing Ray, it's fine..."

"Do you not trust me with Zarina?" Raynor asked, furrowing his eyebrows. She couldn't lie to him. He knew that there was something wrong. He hoped it wasn't what he suspected, as if Sparky didn't trust him with their kid, well, he wouldn't know what to do about that.

"No of course I trust you! Just I don't like leaving her alone or something..." she responded, not too sure what else to say.

"Alright," Raynor said, relaxing. "Then how about you sleep in the bed in our room, and I'll hold the little princess in the rocking chair we have in there?"

"Little princess?" she asked with a bit of an eyebrow raise, before letting out a small sigh, "Alright, that works..." she added as she got up from the chair she had been sitting in.

"My grandfather's a king, pretty sure that makes her entitled to a title," he said, before kissing baby Zari's head and carrying her off to the master bedroom.

Sparky followed along, before sitting down on the bed, but she wasn't laying down or anything. "If you say so... So how have you been Ray?" she said, not being able to help but ask that question at least partially.

"Happy, actually. I know, it's a new look on me, isn't it?" he said, sitting down in the rocking chair with the baby.

"It is a bit odd seeing you happy for once... But I'm really glad that you are... I am too... Which is also a bit odd considering everything that's happened in the past year or so..."

He raised a bit of an eyebrow. "How's it odd? We're married, we're together, and we have a little princess to dote on. Everything in our lives is perfect. I don't care what it took to get here - what matters is the destination, Sparks, not the journey," he told her, beaming down at the little baby.

"You say that it doesn't matter how we got here, it's just... My brain keeps going back to the past year and just thinking of how everything has gone... Mainly the whole Skrull thing still sticks out to me, since I didn't know if you were still alive or whatever before I ended up on Asgard..." she said softly, not sure what else to really say on the matter.

He nodded, softening slightly. "I don't know if this helps... The only time I was in a situation like you were was, well, my father... The Norns said that he would return after Ragnarok and rule in a new age, but... He never came back. As far as I know, he's still dead in my home universe. And here... He doesn't know I'm his son," tears welled up in his eyes as he paused. "I wish you didn't have to live with that pain - but the scar from it will heal."

"I guess if you say so..." she commented, not too sure what else to say. Zari in Raynor's arms would start moving around, waking up now, and she instantly started crying.

"Aaand here's the crying little princess," Raynor cooed, poking Zarina's nose gently. "Careful, Zarina, if you cry too much you'll end up like Sigyn - married to Uncle Loki!"

She seemed to start crying even louder now, and Sparky rolled her eyes slightly, "I don't think that's really helping Ray..." Sparky commented, she was insanely tired, and now the baby was wide awake and crying again, so this was fun.

"You go to sleep, I've got this, okay Sparks?" Raynor said, perhaps far too overconfident in his own abilities. "How does the little princess want to hear about the time Uncle Thor dressed as Auntie Thor to get back his hammer and almost got married in the process?"

"Ray, not sure she is really old enough to actually understand stories," Sparky said, as Zari kept crying, it was getting really really loud at this point. "Maybe you should let me try to get her to calm down..."

"No, no, no, no, no! I've got this, really, and you're beyond exhausted!" Raynor insisted.

"She's also screaming..." she pointed out as little Zari was still crying and bright red in the face now from her screaming. Sparky really wanted to try and get her to stop crying herself, despite Raynor's insistence that he could do it, which was something she was seriously doubting.

"She can't scream forever," Raynor said, now bouncing Zari up and down gently. "Shhh, princess, shh."

"You'd be surprised... She maybe small but she can go on for a while..."

"And I'll be here for her, no matter what. Go sleep, please, Sparks."

"Are you sure you'll be okay with her?"

Raynor nodded. "Cross my heart and hope to die."

"...Don't say that sort of thing..." she responded, as Zari was starting to quiet down again now.

He winced slightly, realizing his mistake. "Sorry. How about I pinky promise instead - that's a thing Midgardians do, right?"

"I haven't done that sort of thing since the third grade," she said with a bit of a laugh. Zari was instead of flat out crying now was just sort of looking at Raynor with rather wide eyes, as if she was sort of expecting Raynor to do something now.

"Then there's precedent," Raynor argued, giggling a bit at Zarina's face. "Our baby looks like she's high on MGH," Raynor commented, referring to one of the nastier street drugs - Mutant Growth Hormone.

"You are so nice to her Ray..." she said, shaking her head. Zari didn't seem to appreciate the comment either, as she reached up and more or less punched Raynor in the nose. It was more or less just her poking his nose with the amount of force she used, but it still did cause Sparky to laugh a bit.

Raynor raised an eyebrow. "Little princess wants to learn to punch daddy?"

"I mean I tend to zap you with electricity when you bug me or whatever, so is that really surprising?" Zari seemed to find the whole thing hilarious and was giggling a bit.

"Domestic abuse, yay," Raynor said, rolling his eyes. "Not sure that's a good look on you, Sparks. If you aren't careful, you might be canceled."

"So mean..." she responded, shaking her head slightly.

"You're the one hurting me!"

"You also left me by myself for while..." she muttered, Zari was currently bored clearly and looked like she might cry again since they weren't paying attention to her.

"Do you mean when I was almost killed and put into a coma?" Raynor asked, a bit incredulous that Sparky was blaming him for that. If she was really upset about that, maybe she would've preferred it if he had actually died.

"Sorry.. That wasn't your fault at all, it's just... I didn't know what I would have done if I had lost you... What would have happened if you hadn't survived, what would have happened? I don't know, and that thought scared me... A lot..." she said, trying hard now not to really cry.

"Hey, hey, Sparks - you're stronger than you give yourself credit for. You would've been fine," he said, before kissing Sparky's forehead softly.

"You don't know that," she responded. Sparky didn't really have the best relationship with her family, so she didn't really have anyone else aside from her friends or whatever with the SHIELD team, so she really really wasn't sure how things would have gone if Raynor had died and she would have ended up taking care of Zari all on her own. Truthfully she also really didn't even really want to think about it.

"And you don't know otherwise," he pointed out. "Thinking about the what if's... That isn't going to help you feel better."

"Yeah yeah yeah I know that. It'll probably drive me crazy just thinking about that sort of thing so I shouldn't. I get it."

"Exactly," he said, before kissing Sparky's forehead again. "We're going to be okay, Sparks. We'll all be fine."

Sparky was half asleep at this point, insanely tired as Zari had finally somewhat relaxed again and she was starting to fall asleep again. "Try not to get into too much trouble while I'm asleep Ray, okay?" she said quietly, before she laid down on the bed entirely and fell sound asleep really quickly.

Oliver Sulivan and Niah Bautista

Physical therapy had been rough, but Niah could walk again. She was determined too. She entered the gym at work and stared at the treadmill. She was going to get back into running. She missed it too much. After a moment of stretching and testing the leg, she felt satisfied and started the treadmill, going slow at first. It was easier to start on the treadmill because she could control the speed and angle and if she needed to tap out she wouldn't have to worry about trying to get back to work.

Stepping into the gym, Oli looked for a brief moment to see Niah, and flinched for a moment. He didn't particularly want to exercise in front of other people, but he had to get better, and not be a liability to the team. He didn't want something like the White House to happen again, and that meant actually getting his body into some kind of shape. Superpowers had been a crutch for him ever since he got them, and he needed to learn to be independent without them. Almost as a joke, he stepped on the treadmill next to Niah, turned it on, and said, "I don't know if this counts as exercise for me, what do you think?" as he started to walk on it.

Niah laughed. "Hello Oli. You still burn calories. What you should do though is not train for speed, but control. Also considering your charley horse you should stretch." She gave him a humorous smile. "I can give you some tips if you'd like. I'm really in the deep of getting back into shape." Her humor didn't leave her voice as she referenced the damage that had been done to her.

Oli laughed back and said, "That's... probably a good point. I've been reading what I can, but I'd still appreciate some pointers if you could toss them out." He said, powering down the treadmill, and elevating his leg by stepping off, and putting his foot forward, and twisting his hip a bit, stretching his calf. "I kinda got thrown into all this field work, I'm used to being behind a computer, but that feels like a waste when I can zip around like I can, you know?"

Niah understood exactly where Oli was coming from. She slowed down her own treadmill until she was walking and then took a step to the side carefully, she kept a hand on the rail not entirely trusting her balance yet. "Oh believe me I understand. I am used to being in a lab. My powers blended themself to it quite well too." She took a sip of water from her water bottle and then said, "As for stretches I recommend calf and quad stretches as some of the most important. You want to be gentle with the stretch and not overdo it, that is just as bad." Niah continued to explain stretching some. She told Oli, "I used to run every morning. Maria and I often would run together. Without her living here I don't have a running partner anymore." Matt ran too, but the two of them didn't get along well.

Oliver smiled at the tips, and tried to put them into action, feeling a pop out of back of his leg, and he made a small, surprised noise. He needed to learn more about his body and how to actually take care of that, so his joints didn't crack like pop rocks whenever he was gearing up for a fight. Nodding at Niah he said, "You know, if there's one thing I'm suddenly very good at, it's running. I'm pretty sure I can keep up with you as much as you need." Oliver said that, but he didn't actually know if that was true or not. For all he knew, his lungs might give out the moment he tried to run without using his powers.

Niah smiled. It would be nice to have someone to run properly with again. "Running in San Francisco is a whole different beast from anywhere else. I haven't tried since..." She started to trail off, "Well not since I lost my leg. Mostly because I know if I get to the point where I can't anymore I'll have to rely on the tech to bring me back and I should be careful about using it." She had played around with it in the lab with Sparky, but that wasn't the same as being out in the field. "What do you say to a jog over to a bubble tea place and back?"

Oli nodded at her, he didn't think he'd ever had bubble tea before, being the welshman he was, he wasn't opposed to any sort of tea. Besides, he'd been wanting to spend more time with Niah, after barely surviving an encounter with a monster from hell, he felt like they should have quality time that didn't endanger their lives. "Let's do it!" he agreed, happy to get outside today. He'd been wanting to try some actual running anyway, find out what it's like to jog around anywhere at a speed that didn't make the rest of the world seem like it was standing still.

Niah swung by her room and grabbed a bag, she already had her water bottle for the gym. There wasn't much reason to get out of the gym clothes since they were going to be jogging. She gave Oli time to get his own things that he might want for the jog. Once they were on the streets she smiled at Oli and said. "Alright, if you get worn down while we're jogging we can slow down. I know I probably will too." She turned and while Oli couldn't see her face she chewed on her lip worrying. Her hand almost started toward the new necklace but she caught herself. "Let's go." She said and started a slow-paced jog.

Having only just stretched and already leaving so soon, Oliver didn't have anything he needed to grab before leaving. He didn't think he was going to get worn down, but as much as his mind liked to toil over things, he hadn't actually taken much time to understand the physical mechanisms by which his body allowed him to zip around, so he didn't open his mouth with any form of snark, in case he got winded after a few minutes. Following not far behind her, Oliver didn't have any trouble keeping up. He felt like he could go faster, but didn't signal that. Instead, he just enjoyed the jog with her, taking in the city and the day. As they got to bubble tea, Oli realized he had no idea how to order a drink that he had no real conception of, and turned to Niah to say, "Um... so, could you order for me? I'm not quite sure what to get." He realized that might sound dumb or flirty, and he rubbed the back of his head, trying to keep himself from blushing.

The jog was nice. She could tell she was getting worn down faster than she used to and would probably have to walk back to Headquarters, but at least she had done this much. "Hm, you should try a basic one for your first try. How sugary and how much ice do you like your drinks?" When they got to the front of the line. Niah ordered two drinks. One was fairly basic with sugar and ice to Oliver's liking, but she made sure there was boba in it so he could try it. For herself, she ordered a Nutella Milk Tea with high sugar and low ice with boba.

While they waited Niah decided to chat with Oliver. The jog itself hadn't led to much conversation as they were keeping their breath under control. "You handled that really well." She smiled, and considered what some of her thoughts had been since the incident at the hospital. She was ready to live her life. "We should go for dinner. If you're interested." She could tell her sentence was going to get away from her if she wasn't careful. "That is to say, I would be interested in dinner with you." God please don't let this be a HR nightmare.

Oliver poked curiously at the bubbles in his tea with the straw. He didn't think he'd ever actually had tapioca, but it was oddly chewy in his mouth. He didn't hate it, but he didn't totally get it either. It certainly was fun, and sweet, and tea, so he wouldn't be opposed to getting it again in the future. At the question, Oliver swallowed hard in surprise. He was not expecting her to be that forward in any universe. Thinking quickly for a moment, his head ran through the different possibilities. If he said no, things would be awkward for the rest of the time they worked together, but if he said yes, things would probably be fine, unless their relationship ended in tragedy. That all being said, he wanted to have dinner with her, and so he said, "What a coincidence, I am also interested in having dinner with you. How about we grab some Thai?" He hoped that didn't sound clunky or awkward, but that was about the best he had.

Niah smiled and her shoulders relaxed a little. "I like Thai. Sorry if I came off as forward, but I've decided that I don't want regrets. I've spent so much of my life debating over questions and not living. My last relationship..." She trailed off a bit. "It ended before it could really begin. He died during the Phase Three testing." She told Oliver honestly. Since he hadn't been around for that she figured he should know.

Oliver smiled at what she said, "Honestly, that makes sense, and I'm right there with you." He admitted, "After the attack on Cardiff, and the cancer scare with my mom, and almost getting murdered by a demon bear in a twisted nightmare hospital... well, my point is, life in our line of work is too dangerous to not actually live." The color drained from his face at hearing that from her though, and said, "I'm sorry to hear that." He wasn't quite sure what else he could say about that, not wanting to come off as insensitive. IT felt too soon to promise he wasn't going to die, especially because he didn't know if that would be true or not.

"It isn't your fault." She gave him a smile. Niah was joking obviously. "I left the team for a while because I needed some time, but ironically the demon bear did a better job of getting me to deal with everything I've seen." She gave a shrug. "You've had to deal with a lot too. It has been rough. But we've figured it out. The future is unknown right. We just have now."

A look of faux relief at being absolved of responsibility for the death of the person he'd never met danced across his face, before saying, "Yeah, the demon bear kinda helped me too." Oliver started to say, and then tacked on. "I think.. that might be a new sentence. I sincerely doubt any human has ever put those words together in that order before." He chuckled to himself, before continuing, "I think, oddly, a part of me is scared of turning into, or at least, being seen by people who don't know me as being the same as Thanos. The last thing I want is to be tossed in the Raft because the government decides I'm too much of a risk to be free." Oliver frowned, and sipped down some more tea. "But, yeah, the only way to the future is to live through the present, right?."

Niah nodded as Oliver explained what he was afraid of. She wanted to promise that she'd never let them, but she had tried once before to get someone out of the Raft. That had failed miserably. If she had just been able to get him to work for SHIELD not against it. A regret that there wasn't anything she could do about it now. "You're reasonable to have that fear. I'm not worried about you being evil. I've seen you struggle to make sure the right thing is done. All you can do is keep fighting against people's assumptions of you. Remind them that this place is your home and you want to protect it." She smiled. That's all she wanted was just to protect Earth and those she loved. "Remember what Dr. Larson said about protecting just one person. That's what matters. It can be an idea or a place too. As long as you have something to hold onto in the world."

Oliver smiled at her words, and said, "I just... I never thought I'd be a ... hero? That word feels weird." He admitted, but what else do you call somebody with superpowers fighting for the fate of his planet? "I kinda intended to be off to the side most of my life, but more than anything, think a lot about the reason Thanos came to kill me, I'm supposed to kill him? It just wasn't ever what I planned." He shrugged, and then continued, "But hey, if I gotta only protect one thing, how about I protect the entire universe from him?" Oliver suggested jokingly, knowing that he way overscoping himself on that.

Niah understood exactly where Oliver was coming from. She snickered at his joke. "A lot of the old prophecies were self-fulfilling. I believe Thanos has done this to himself. He has made an enemy of you, and you would not have been before." She took a sip of her tea savoring the sweetness. "But I understand where you are coming from. I'm a Forensic Scientist first. I expected to be in a lab most of my life. Joining Phase Three put me on a very different path. When I took time off from the team I couldn't stand seeing you guys leaving and going to fight, on the moon, without me. I couldn't stand knowing you had one less person helping." She shook her head. "That's why I came back. Now I know I'll most likely die in the field. But I'll die doing what I love and have dedicated myself to doing. Being a SHIELD." She grinned at her own joke. "You'll be great at protecting the Universe."

Oliver rolled his eyes playfully at the pun, "Using a backronym for a pun is cheating." He pointed out, before finishing off his tea and throwing the cup in a nearby garbage. "Well, Niah, I appreciate your vote of confidence, and balk at the true immensity of the task in front of me, saving the Universe and all." He said, laughing a bit, "Let's hope I'm not the universe's only hope, but I'll give it my best effort." And with that, Oli and Niah committed to going on their first date, setting the stage for what would hopefully be a long and fruitful relationship.
