Liam returned to the Nursery with the assorted Pokémon he had with him in tow. "She shouldn't bother you guys anymore," Liam said. He turned to the Applin. "I'm sorry the Nuzleaf took your apples. Liam theorized that those apples could have been the evolution items. He also explained to his friends why Farfetch'd had attacked him initially. Liam pulled out a pair of Luxury Balls and tossed them at the Applin.

"Applin has been registered to your pokédex"

Selina had gone off to search for something when Liam had got the Farfetch'd she rejoined just to witness the Hoodlum going flying with her pokemon. "Now that's a sight I like seeing, seeing you send Hoodlum flying" She said once she caught up with Liam and the others.

"A gift for you Liam to give to your new Farfetch'd" She added before giving him, a special looking leek which would seem quite heavy, "This is a special kind of leek that only grows in this area of Galar, if given to a Farfetch'd, it greatly boosts their critical hit ratio, if you want Galarian Farfetch'd to evole into Sirfetch'd, you need to score three critical hits in one battle" She told him with a smile. "Oh and another gift" Serina said as Zerina appeared behind her holding the bag the Nuzleaf had, "I stole this from the Nuzleaf just before you send it and its trainer flying" Zerina told Liam as she gave him the bag to return the apples.

Jen and Aura missed the battle to help take care of Pokémon at the Nursery but got the information from her friends.

"That's great, thanks!" Liam said. Now he could evolve the Applin when he was ready and getting Farfetch'd to evolve would be even easier now.

One of the Nursery workers gave Liam a Technical Record as a thank you.
"Technical Record?" Liam asked confused. It was explained to him that a Technical Record was sort of like a TM, except they broke after one use. It was also explained that this one was for Leaf Blade, which Galarian Farfetch'd could learn. Liam remembered that Leaf Blade had better than normal odds of landing a critical hit. He also recalled noticing this Farfetch'd had Focus Energy when he scanned it. Liam remembered that he hadn't decided on a nickname for it and began to ponder one on the back burner. He used the TR on the Farfetch'd and gave it the leek along with a huge supply of Protein. Liam also wondered out loud about where he could find Toxel, as it's an interesting Pokémon.

Shiranui looked up Toxel's known locations on his phone. "According to this, Toxel are known to be found at Route 7, Bridge Field, Giant's Cap, Hammerlocke Hills, Motostoke Riverbank and Stony Wilderness," he stated.

"Might be something to keep an eye out for,"Liam said.

“It will be interesting to see which other Pokémon live in those areas,” Jen said as she pets Aura.

Liam's Rotomphone pinged about a participant in the World Coronation being nearby. The phone showed a young girl that looked like the hoodlum Liam dispatched but dressed in a more preppy fashion. At first glance, he thought it was the same girl, but then he noticed this girl's nose was ever so slightly smaller. Liam commented on this to his friends. He pinged his location as the Nursery and stepped outside while he waited on his challenger.

"Possible relative?" Shiranui speculated, following Liam outside.

“Maybe sisters,” Jen said as she follows them as she is thinking this girl may have a large family.

"What I'm thinking," Liam said. The girl approached. "I presume you are Champion Coleman," she replied. Liam nodded. As Liam was pressing the button to summon a Rotom Drone to referee the battle, he heard sirens going off as Officer Jenny rode up on a motorcycle and grinded to a halt between them facing the girl. "Jackie, have you seen your sister?" Jenny asked the girl. Jenny was ignoring the Rotom Drone's requests for her to vacate the battlefield.
"Excuse me, Officer Jenny" Liam said hiding his annoyance at her. "If you are looking for a hoodlum version of this girl, I sent her blasting off back towards town. She challenged me to a battle and after I was the bigger person and give her Pokémon the minimal treatment needed to get back to a Pokémon Center, she attacked me literally the moment I turned my back." Jenny thanked Liam for the information and at this point heard the Rotom drone shouting at her to get out of the battlefield, to which she apologized and moved her motorcycle after getting word that the other officers had apprehended her.
"This will be an official Pokémon World Coronation Battle between Jackie and Turfield, and Liam of Blackthorn City. Each trainer is allowed a single Pokémon. Begin!"
"Balin, it's time to Shine!" Liam called out the Galarian Farfetch'd as Jackie sent out Yamper.

"Balin, Slash!" Liam called.
"Charm!" Jackie ordered. Yamper put on the charm and lowered the attack on Balin, but he still scored a critical hit.
Liam was going through in his mind the information he received when he scanned Balin's ball with the Rotomdex.
"Night Slash!" The attack hit and was a Critical.
"Use Attract!" Jackie declared with glee. Yamper winked at Balin, who then fell in love with the puppy.
"Night Slash!" Liam called.
"Thunder Wave!" Jackie replied, this time however Jackie's Yamper moved first, to which she explained it was thanks to Yamper's ability, Rattled increasing her speed when she's hit with a ghost or dark-type move. Balin was immobilized by love and unable to move.
"Play Rough!" Jackie called. The attack hit, giving Jackie a critical of her own.
"Slash!" Liam called. This time the paralysis kept Balin from attacking.
"PLay Rough again!" Jackie declared.
"Air Slash!" Liam ordered. Balin was able to avoid the attack and hit with a third critical hit. This move landed a critical hit and gave Liam the win. Balin quacked in victory and began to glow white, much to Liam's shock. The leek became spear-like and Balin had acquired a shield that resembled a leaf.

"Sir!" The Pokémon squawked.
"Sirfetch'd has been registered to your Pokédex." Liam's Rotomphone chirped.

"Sirfetch'd, the Wild Duck Pokémon, A Fighting-Type and the evolved form of Farfetch'd Galarian Form. Only Farfetch'd that have survived many battles can attain this evolution. When this Pokémon's leek withers, it will retire from combat. After deflecting attacks with its hard leaf shield, it strikes back with its sharp leek stalk. The leek stalk is both weapon and food."

"As of right now, there has been an update in the standings." The Rotom Drone reported before flying off. Liam checked his phone and saw he had moved to Rank 899. Liam praised Balin on the victory and evolution, and thanked Jackie for the battle.

Selina was quite surprised at how quickly Liam had been able to evole his Farfetch'd but was proud of him none the less, her own Sirfetch'd had seen many battles and they could tell his leek was slowly reaching the end of its time which Brave was prepared for. But he wanted to go out in a big battle, not some wild battle or weak trainer battle.

"Well, should we get going on toward the next gym?" Liam inquired.

"Yes, we should," answered Shiranui, pointing out the town of Hulbury on his PokéNav app. He felt his mind being read and after hearing a high-pitched mew he saw an Espurr poised for battle. "Alright, Espurr, I accept your challenge," he said to the Espurr in question, "Kuuyu, I choose you!" Shiranui sent his Rookidee out and the battle was on. Espurr started with Fake Out and Kuuyu flinched from the hit. "Kuuyu, start with Hone Claws!" Espurr fired off a Confusion and Kuuyu felt the attack before brandishing her talons, increasing her Attack and Accuracy.
"Now, use Power Trip!" Espurr let off a loud mew as it used Disarming Voice, causing Kuuyu to crash land. The Rookidee slowly got up and let off a loud chirp before she starting glowing. Kuuyu grew two feet in height and the glow subsided to reveal a Corvisquire. Shiranui quickly scanned Kuuyu's new form with his Rotom Phone.
"Corvisquire, the Raven Pokémon. A Flying type and the evolved form of Rookidee. Smart enough to use tools in battle, these Pokémon have been seen picking up rocks and flinging them or using ropes to wrap up enemies." Letting off a boastful squawk, Kuuyu swooped in and struck Espurr for triple the normal damage, leaving Espurr on its last legs. "Poké Ball, go!" Shiranui threw a Poké Ball at Espurr and the psychic kitten was drawn in. The Poké Ball shook once, twice and thrice before it snapped shut. He named his new friend Nekomata and swapped Zoro out to make room.

"Well, it might be something to look into," Liam said thinking aloud. "Nessa is a water-specialist" so maybe you should look for grass or electric types.

“I already have both, I was thinking to catch a water type pokemon.” Jen said as Michiru’s Great ball shake a little bit before it stop.

"You can find Lombre and Dewpider around here among others," Shiranui stated, "Or if you're looking to go fishing you can land Magikarp, Goldeen or Chewtle. Of course you may land something else as well."

"Of course, I might be fine with my two Applin and maybe Balin"

"While I may not have any particular advantage or disadvantage, I have some strong Pokemon regardless, so I'm not too worried." Chuck said, as they approached Hulbury.
