In-Depth Background Information
The Serum
This RP starts by ushering in a new century (i.e. 2100), and in this century, there have many technological strides forward, especially in the world of medicine. The biggest milestone in this field came in the year 2033, when a serum was developed that could slow down the aging process by nearly 200% while also boosting the user's immune system, making them invulnerable to nearly all known viruses and diseases. It was the cure to cancer and much more. Those that could afford regular doses of the serum could effectively live three times as long as the average person and with no fear of falling ill ever again.
At first, only the rich could afford the serum. Over the next couple decades, as the process became cheaper and more mass-producible, more people could afford it. All the while, it was becoming more and more effective, slowing the effects of aging by a staggering amount.
In the year 2055, governments world-wide made a collective decision. The serum was taken off the market. It was instead mixed with the general water supply. This diluted version of the serum would then spread all across the world, curing all diseases and slowing everyone's aging by about three times. It was the miracle cure that scientists had always been looking for, but it wasn't without it's opponents...
Generation Gamma
Those born between the years of 2055 and 2079 (20-44 year olds) are part of the Gamma Generation. This Generation has never been exposed to sickness. Nor did they have any say in whether or not they wanted to take a substance that would slow their growth forever. As they say, growing up is based off two things, nature vs nurture. In this case, we must consider how their mindset is effected by being stuck in slowly aging bodies for a much longer period of time than any generation before.
To start, we examine the average 30 year old. This is the average age at which most people are able to attend college and the exact age at which one can become a Pokemon trainer. Physically, these individuals appear to be 10 year olds by pre-serum standards. Mentally however, they have still experienced 30 years worth of life. So how does this effect their mind?
The opposing forces here are the brain (which is also being stunted in its growth like the rest of the body) and the life experiences of the individual. It is a subject that is heavily studied to this very day, but there is one generally accepted rule: 'While the bodies of individuals may be slowed down by a factor of three, the mind is only slowed down by a factor of two.' Thus, 30 year olds, while stuck in 10 year old bodies, are more akin to 15 year olds inside their minds. Then again, it is important to note that this can be highly effected by abnormal life experiences.
