Runa Baldurdattir

Location: Nearing Baldur's Hall
Skills: Infinite Deception of Words, Asgardian Magic

Runa heard Edus reject her lie and she felt the power building up inside of her. She didn't speak of it often, but when one of her lies was rejected, she felt almost compelled to distort reality and make it truth - it was nearly involuntary. Runa barely registered the ground shaking as Lance conquered his foe. She hardly blinked as Marygold dispelled her brother's fiery tornado. She didn't even turn her head to see the other rampaging monsters terrorizing the others. "A lie for a lie," Runa whispered, Gandr glowing with dark energy, as she snapped her fingers, expecting to feel a wave of release, for reality to rewrite itself to her will. It was always an exhilarating, intoxicating feeling...

But it never came. Her innate magic did not work. Her staff had ceased glowing. A wave of hopelessness crashed against her - she was the Goddess of Lies, this was the one thing she was supposed to be good at, the very reason why those in Asgard had shamed and ridiculed her for all of those years. But nothing happened - her powers weren't as strong as they should have been. Runa didn't know if that was because of Forseti's stone or if there was something deeper that was wrong with her...

Guin Stark

Location: Nearing Baldur's Hall
Skills: Telepathy, Agility

"Was something supposed to happen there?" Guin remarked, a little surprised that Runa's powers had more or less fizzled out. But they didn't have time for snarky remarks, especially with the monsters going on around. Guin nodded when Mary suggested that she search Forseti's mind for the location of the stone and Guin took a breath, diving into the Asgardian's head again. "It's on a chain by his side," Guin informed her fellow X-Men. The tornado was gone and she didn't want to waste a second, so Guin quickly darted at Forseti, attempting to snatch the stone.

Forseti batted her away like a bug, sending Guin flying (and the stone came free of the chain, flying into the grass somewhere). Guin hit the ground hard. "The stone isn't on him anymore!" she then told the others, even though she had no idea where it was anymore. It was small and the grass in this meadow of sorts was a little tall. Guin forced herself back onto her feet, just in time to watch as Runa threw a small object down at the ground by Forseti's feet. Suddenly, a yew tree began sprouting out of nowhere, trapping Forseti's legs inside. "Yikes, hope he's got health insurance," Guin said, wincing slightly. Runa then conjured a pair of handcuffs, connected by a chain - nothing incredibly fancy - as she walked up to her brother.

"Will I need to put these on you?" Runa asked Forseti.

Asgard, River Near Baldur's Hall
Skills: Shadow Travel, clairvoyance

Bethany took a step back she really hoped that Forseti wasnt going to hit her for stabbing him, but luckily Guin, Runa had him distracted enough. She watched as the fire tornado quickly disappeared due to their attacks which was a good thing then as Guin said where the stone was on Forseti's person. Though she couldnt really see where it was Guin tried to make a grab for it as Forseti managed to hit her hard enough to send her flying. She was glad that Guin said it was off of him now and she closed her eyes to find out where the stone was using her clairvoyance, it was about fifty feet away from them all.

She shadow traveled over to where it was as she watched some black thorns appearing and hitting Forseti, and one of the monsters ended up getting released due to Mary loosing control. Beth knelt down seeing that the stone was still attached to a chain and picked it up by the chain. "I have the stone you guys." Bethany called out to everyone through the mental group chat.

Ed Penior

Location: Nearing Baldur's Hall
Skills: Thamaturgy: Shield

"Thanks. I'll help with that leg as soon as I can." He told Pietro. The guy had saved his bacon several times in this fight. Ed wished he could fix his leg, but it was too dangerous still. One of the other monsters that had been held by Mary was free now. He reached out and tried to wrap it up in a shield like the other one. However, he lost his grip on the first one and now both were free.

"Shit." He cursed to himself. Today was not his best day. He touched the small shield in his pocket and reached out. His magic seemed weak, as tired as he was feeling. He had pushed himself a lot healing Guin and he was feeling that. He was able to bubble one of the monsters. But the other was still on the rampage. He backed away slowly trying to keep the distance between himself and the fight.

Antoinette McCarthy

Location: River Near Baldur's Hall -- Asgard
Skills: Pyrotechnic Manipulation;

The monster roared angrily at Antoinette before it started stomping around and pounding at the ground. Antoinette felt like she was dancing with an overzealous partner as she dodged each hit to the ground. It used up most of her concentration, the mental link absorbing the other half of her conversation. She was glad the others had found the stone, maybe this would be over soon. All Antoinette had to do now was stay alive.
Antoinette did her best to concentrate on her power and the creature as a target. Luckily it was a very large creature. Antoinette aimed some concentrated shots of fireworks at the creature’s feet. She succeeded in causing a fair bit of damage to the creature but they were still standing; however, the stomping had stopped.
With the feet being so damaged, Antoinette figured that would be her best plan of attack and she went for the creature’s feet once again. There wasn’t any further damage done but Antoinette didn’t dwell on the fact.

Forseti was clearly annoyed and was sort of glaring at his sister, "Very rude to be sure Runa," he commented, it was obvious he was annoyed. However, without the stone in his possession he was very much not quite as powerful as he was before, and considering the injuries he had sustained during the entire incident, he was definitely weak and a little shaky, so he likely wasn't going to be fighting anymore, that was for sure.

However, the monsters were still causing issues. The one that Annie had been fighting was about to strike back at her, when all of a sudden, it froze in place for a moment, before moving again. The creature picked her up off the ground (being very careful) and gave her what seemed to be... A hug?

"...Uhhhh wasn't that monster trying to kill her not that long ago? So why the hell is it hugging her now?" Pietro asked, incredibly confused as he started glancing around to try and see who exactly had caused that sudden shift. Of course, he shouldn't have been surprised by who it was that he saw racing over, as it was Klara, with Lady Sif and the Warriors Three closely behind her.

"Well what beasts are these?" Fandral commented as he popped up, looking at the monsters that were there in the garden.

"I don't think Nanna is going to appreciate fighting in the meadow, what all is going on here?" Sif asked.

"Perhaps we ask questions after we deal with the rest of these beasts," Volstagg said, before instantly charging at the other monster that was still free (with Hogun following close behind), while Fandral went straight for the one that Ed had managed to hold down still. Sif stayed back and walked over to the group around Forseti while the three dealt with the other two. Since Klara had already stopped the one.

"Uh... Why is Forseti partially encased in a tree?" Klara asked, clearly a bit confused as to what was going on.

"He had the reality stone and was trying to destroy the universe with it. Actually more of destroying other realities, and then trying to kill us."

"...Wait... You just said had, as in past tense..."

"Where is the stone now?" Sif asked rather urgently, clearly a bit concerned about it now.

"It got knocked away and Bethany has it now."

Sif walked over to Bethany and looked at her, "Give me the stone, that is not meant for anyone, and it needs to be brought to the All-Father and locked away so that no one can use it or anything like that." This situation clearly made her a bit uneasy, but they needed to get the stone far away from here now.

The Warriors Three managed to take down the remaining kaijus, and the one that had given Annie a hug gently set her down and then proceeded to sit down on the ground as if it was waiting for something. "Sounds like this whole situation is a bit messed up."

The Warriors came over now to the others and looked at the group, "We can take him back to the palace where he can be tried for what he has done," Hogun said rather calmly, looking at the group as a whole.

Meanwhile Pietro was still somewhat limping a bit on his leg since it kept really wanting to pop out and have the bone sticking out again. "Well, this issue is resolved, finally... Now maybe I'm going to just sort of sit on the ground because oww..." he ended up saying to Ed, before he more or less flopped over onto the ground so he wasn't standing on his leg or something anymore. "That was fun..."

Bethany Bell

Asgard, River Near Baldur's Hall
Skills: N/A

Bethany started to relax a little bit as she looked over where the others were it seemed like Forseti stopped attacking, they just had to deal with the monsters that Forseti had summoned. Taking a moment Beth looked down at the stone dangling on the chain in her hand, she thought about using it to get rid of the monsters. When the one that was attacking Annie started to instantly calm down and then went in to give her a hug. She immeidately turned to see that Klara, Lady sif and the Warriors Three were coming over and approaching the group, Beth started to make her way over to where the others were.

When Lady Sif approached her asking for the stone, Bethany took a moment and looked at it she wasnt sure if she wanted to give it to them seeing as Forseti was using it for evil. But then again people back home would use it as well to for something evil, Beth handed the stone over to Lady Sif. "Alright then, just make sure people like Loki and Forseti don't get their hands on it." Bethany said while looking at Forseti, she really didnt like him at all for what he had been doing she was about to say something when her powers decided to suddenly have a mind of it's own as her own shadow quickly separated itself from her, completely confused seeing that never happened before.

Runa Baldurdattir

Location: Nearing Baldur's Hall
Skills: Asgardian Magic

Runa felt horrible for her brother. He had been soundly defeated, embedded partially into a tree, and had sustained grievous injuries. He wasn't a fighter by any stretch of the imagination - he was a god of justice, the deity in charge of running Asgard's courts and ensuring that the sentences were just and fair. She whispered a spell and scanned him again quickly, detecting no enchantments or any other magical means that would've explained what he had done. It didn't match up with the brother she knew. She wanted nothing more than to spirit him away to some parts unknown, where he could be afforded a second chance, rather than rot in Odin's dungeons. She adored her brother.

It killed her to place the handcuffs on his wrist. She turned her head, her eyebrows furrowing as one of the monsters started hugging Annie - but it was soon explained as Klara appeared with Lady Sif and the Warriors Three. It would've been helpful for them to arrive earlier. Luckily, it didn't look like anyone was fatally injured - just some serious injuries but nothing too serious. She bit her lip slightly, as Lady Sif asked for the stone from Bethany, and as they were directed to turn Forseti over to the Warriors Three.

Runa wished that she had screamed and fled with her brother in that moment. "It'll be alright, brother," Runa whispered. She then stood back, allowing the Warriors Three to take him away.

Guin Stark

Location: Nearing Baldur's Hall
Skills: Telepathy

"What the fuck...?" Guin asked, staring as one of the kaijus started to hug Annie - maybe Annie really did have some sort of telepathy. She was about to comment on that when the actual person responsible for enchanting the kaiju appeared, Klara - as well as some other Asgardian stragglers. "You know, would've been really nice to have you all here, hope the cup smashing competition or whatever it was went well," Guin pointed out, rolling her eyes. But at least, everything seemed to have turned out okay. Guin ended the mental group chat. Bethany had recovered the stone and Runa had dealt with her brother, and now the rest of the monsters were gone as well - well, aside from the one that became besties with Annie.

"Do we get a loot drop for dealing with that for you all? Because I think we deserve some XP and some gold," Guin then added, seemingly incapable of not running her mouth at all times. She jogged on over to Pietro, raising one eyebrow at his injury, and also doing her best not to scream internally about it. He was going to be fine. Maybe he was going to be limping around for a little bit. She knelt down next to him on the ground and booped him on the nose with her finger. "You okay?" she asked softly.

Ed Penior

Location: Nearing Baldur's Hall
Skills: Basic Healing Magic; Sympathetic: Healing

Ed sighed relieved when the fight ended. Letting go of the spell that had been holding down one of the monsters. He looked down at Pietro, glad to see the guy was taking it seriously. Pietro wasn't brushing it off, which was nice.

"Let me set it and then I'll heal it." Ed knelt down and re-set the leg. It was not a pleasant task, considering the bone had been literally sticking out. A compound fracture like that could cause a lot of other damage and Ed would have to take that into account as he healed.

Orange light emanated from his hands and surrounded the leg. After a moment the light faded and the wound was healed. "Give it a test walk." From the outside it looked fine, but there would be vein damage and muscle damage, and other tissue damage. Ed hoped he had done a good enough job that Pietro's natural healing would take care of the rest.

The creature was gearing up again to attack Antoinette and she was prepared but she wasn’t prepared for this type of attack. The Kaiju picked her up and hugged Antoinette. She froze, completely shocked until she heard the familiar voice of Klara. Antoinette immediately hugged the creature back and apologized for hurting its feet and damaging its eye.
”I’m sure you understand why,” she said. Antoinette knew Klara was responsible for calming the creature but now she wondered if the Kaiju’s were really this gentle. The creature set Antoinette down again before sitting. She patted the creature’s foot before walking over to the others.
”Is there any way we can heal the Kaiju?” She looked to Klara, hoping for a positive answer.

The Wrap Up

Pietro gave Guin a bit of a smile, "I'm fine Guina," he said to her, before he turned to look at Ed as he healed his broken leg. The pain went away for him, and he instantly stood back up off of the ground, more or less tapping his foot a moment, before looking at Ed. "Seems fine to me, my powers should easily be able to take over and repair it the rest of the way... Thanks for that."

The Warriors Three looked at the group who were all by Forseti, and Volstagg and Hogun each took Forseti by one of the arms. "He will be tried in the courts of Asgard, and we'll alert the All-Father to what has occurred," Hogun said rather calmly.

"Be sure, if found guilty he likely will be imprisoned for his crimes for a time, so not to worry," Fandral added, before the three started heading off with Forseti in tow.

Lady Sif stuck around for a little while though, not immediately heading off any place, but she nodded her head slightly at Bethany with regards to the stone. "Do not fret, the Queen gave this to me to contain the stone so that no one touches it and its powers are contained," she commented, despite the stone already having a small casing around it, Sif pulled out a small box engraved with runes on it, that she then proceeded to place the stone in before shutting the box. "Part of what took a little while for us to arrive to lend aid, we wanted to ensure that if it was in fact one of the stones that it was contained immediately upon retrieval."

Klara looked at Annie, before looking at the Kaiju that she had more or less calmed down, "I mean, I definitely can try, not usually what I'm used to, but sure. We'll see about taking this guy to a nice planet where he can live out the rest of his days, since I doubt my mother will let me keep him here on Asgard," she said, before going over, and using water to more or less start surrounding the creature as its injuries began to heal.

Over by Ed, Sif touched his arm and more or less pulled him off to the side to the moment a bit abruptly, but she did tend to seem a bit direct about everything. "I have a request... And I trust you, not to mention you appear to be the eldest of the group you are with... Klara is wishing to travel with you all a bit longer, and I am fine with that, however... Keep an eye on her for me please. Something is still a bit strange, she seems fine now, and the words you spoke earlier about this, they still might be true, and I apologize for my outburst with regards to it earlier... Just keep an eye on her for me, please, and if that isn't really my daughter, well, try to figure out who it is..." she said somewhat softly, keeping her voice down so only Ed could hear her words.

Meanwhile Back at the School

It was a typical day at the Institute, and a class of students was currently chattering away with one another, waiting for Xavier to enter the room. Supposedly there was going to be a guest speaker for the lesson, and many students were speculating who it would be. Eventually, the door opened up, and Xavier rolled in with a familiar red head following rather closely behind him. "Good morning students, I'd like to introduce to you all Dr. Jean Grey, who has agreed to speak with you all today." he said to the group, and Jean waved slightly at everyone.

"Hello everyone. As the professor said, I am Jean Grey and I guess I'm your guest lecturer for the day. I usually like for people to get to know me first. And I know a lot of you have probably heard a lot about me. So if anyone has any questions for me, please, feel free to ask them," she said rather calmly, and several hands shot up around the room. "Wow, that was more than I was expecting, how about you, what's your question?" she asked, pointing to a girl in the back row of the room.

"How did you end up merged with the Phoenix?" the girl asked, and several others in the room nodded in agreement with the question.

"Well that is a difficult question... The team and I were doing a bit of a space mission when the ship that we were on, started crashing. Problem was that the shield protecting the cockpit from the radiation that is out in space wasn't strong enough, it got damaged rather severely. Despite the risks I ended up going to the cockpit and flying the ship myself, and my powers managed to protect me for a while from the radiation, however after a while, it started to effect me... And eventually, subconsciously my mind called out for help, and the Phoenix answered my call. Gave me the strength and together we managed to stop the ship from completely being destroyed on impact, and save everyone on board. Afterwards, the entity decided to stay with me, as it was still healing me from the injuries I received during the entire thing..."

"Oh wow, that must have been hard to deal with, having a strong entity with you the entire time."

"You're right, it was hard, at least at first, but eventually we figured out how to really work together to do everything, and I didn't tend to use the Phoenix's powers too much if I truly didn't have to."

"So what happened when you died? I mean... Everyone knows you died and all and got brought back, so what happened?" Another student instantly blurted out, waving his hand around.

"Well, it is kind of sad really... Myself and the Phoenix, we both got manipulated by a few individuals... And that destroyed the mental blocks that we put in place to prevent the power from potentially over powering me and I guess you could say... Being a corruptive influence... Unfortunately, because of this, that didn't last, and I went dark... However right towards then end, I manage to regain control long enough to use a weapon on myself that just completely destroyed me and my body, releasing the entity, who then revived me a while later."

"Whoa... Do you remember anything from the time you died?"

"...No, I just remember waking back up again," she commented. Though in truth she was lying. However the things she saw was more of the reason why she was keeping quiet about it. It was a strange place, a place that was just completely white, and a place where the Phoenix had spoken to her, talking about how all hosts for it leave a part of themselves with her. That place, she didn't really talk about, and only a select few knew about it. After a few moments, she jolted out of her thoughts and looked at the students that were all looking at her waiting for her to start talking again. "Well that's enough about that, let's get started with the lesson then shall we?"

A Few Months Later

They had managed to get to use the same ship that Klara had helped them escape from the Kyln in to use, so that was always something. Klara had decided to join the group, at least for the time being anyway, and eventually the group would find themselves heading back home, back to Earth. Thankfully after what had happened with Forseti and such, the Asgardians had helped to explain to the Nova Corps what exactly had happened, and how the group had just ended up in the wrong place at the wrong time. Because of that, they were no longer being chased around the galaxy and were now free to travel. However after several months flying around, they were flying back through space, back towards their home.

Of course, there was a bit of a side effect that had been noticed with regards to Forseti destroying parallel universes, and that was there were rifts in reality that were hidden throughout the universe. The Asgardians are attempting to close them all, and the group were told that if they found any to alert them to its location so it could be repaired with magic. Problem was, even though it had been a few months since Forseti was stopped, new rifts were opening up everywhere, as reality was starting to unravel a bit more then was probably healthy.

This is where we find the group, on their journey home, flying through space with nothing really happening, when suddenly, the ship would jolt forward a bit all of a sudden, as if it was caught in a gravity rift or something, and it was pulling them forward. There was a bright flash of red light, and everything would start to swirl around the group.

The ship seemed to disappear entirely out from underneath them, and they'd all find themselves scattered about everywhere.

Lance, Guin (and her pet lemur thing Amidala) and Annie would end up falling through the air, before luckily landing in what appeared to be a dumpster in an alleyway. They would just feel a little bit sore, and if they poked their heads out of the dumpster, they'd find themselves looking off in the distance what appeared to be the New York City skyline. One thing seemed a bit apparent, despite it being what looked to be around the middle of the day or something, the city seemed to be a bit quiet. There weren't a whole lot of cars on the road driving along, and there didn't seem to be too many pedestrians on the street either.

"...Okay, this is a little weird to me..." Lance couldn't help but comment as he got out of the dumpster and dropped down onto the ground.

Pietro, Klara and Runa would end up falling and hitting the ground in what appeared to be a somewhat secluded wooded area. They seemed to be completely alone, at least at the moment anyway with everything that was going on. One thing was obvious, they seemed to be decently far away from where any sort of city. Not to mention it seemed to be eerily quiet, but considering the fact that they were off in the woods away from the city, that shouldn't be too surprising right?

"Well, that was a fun sort of crash landing."

"Usually you'd expect a crash landing to still include you being in the vessel that you had been flying in... Any ideas where we are? Or where the others possibly could have landed?"

"Place looks a little familiar, but I've been in a lot of wooded areas, so that doesn't necessarily mean anything. As for the others nooooo idea."

Mary, Ed and Bethany would end up falling into what appeared to be the most familiar of areas to them. They'd all manage to hit what appeared to be a lake, so they were unharmed. However a bit of a tidal wave seemed to appear as the ship they had all been flying in crashed into the lake too, sending a shockwave of water and knocking them closer to shore. Looking out where they ended up, they'd see the all too familiar building of Xavier's Institute off not too far away, and they seemed to have landed in the lake on the property. One thing would be very obvious about the building though, it looked rundown and abandoned from what they'd be able to see from the lake. All three of them would be able to easily get to shore though.

"Ok, the possible explanations for what the hell just happened are kind of limited, but at least we didn't get caught in the ship or something, since otherwise right about now, we likely would be drowning..." Mary commented after they'd all reach shore and she glanced around at the area. "...Well the mansion certainly has seen better days..."

Runa Baldurdattir

Location: the Woods
Skills: History of the Nine Realms, Asgardian Magic

It had been a while since the horribly tragic events with her brother. Runa had decided to continue journeying with the X-Men, hoping that it would take her mind off of things. Her brother's trial had concluded on Asgard and he had been sentenced - it wasn't life imprisonment thankfully, as otherwise Runa might've done something reckless. Asgardians were long lived. She just had to be patient. But she couldn't bear seeing him imprisoned and with her parents' blessing, she left with the X-Men once more. The month or so on Asgard had been.... not nice, more of strange really.

But so was the odd rips and tears in the fabric of reality - especially the one that they were all pulled on through. Runa recalled a blinding flash of red light, the ship vanishing around her, and then suddenly, she hit the ground in the woods. Runa took a moment, taking in the scenery around her. It looked like Midgard - scenery like this was unlikely to occur on other planets in the Nine Realms, but not impossible. Of course, they could be in some other portion of the universe entirely - there were hundreds of planets out there and Midgard was not entirely unique. Still, the fact that Pietro seemed able to breathe was promising - Midgardian lungs could be a bit picky about oxygen.

"It may be Midgard," Runa said softly, standing up to her feet. She reached into her bag of runes and pulled the mannaz rune, and twirled her finger in a circle around it, concentrating on Lance. A flash of insight then came into her mind. "Lance is several miles north from here." She then twirled her finger in the opposite direction, focusing on Edus. "And Edus is an even greater distance north."

Guin Stark

Location: New York City Alleyway
Skills: Telepathy

Sure, Guin was a little homesick having not seen her dad, Pepper, and Happy in what felt like fifteen years, but it was SPACE! How often was she going to have the chance to go on a fun space adventure? Didn't everyone go traveling crazy places in their 20s anyways? It was a rite of passage, an experience that she deserved to have. She was already married pretty young, there was no reason to forgo the rest of the fun 20s life experiences ahead of her. Besides, Guin adored space. She had wanted to be Princess Leia ever since she was a little kid, of course, Princess Leia as a Jedi - lightsabers were just way too cool to pass up. And hanging around Asgard had been nice, 1) as it was a cool alien civilization and 2) she and Pietro got some much needed privacy. The little ship hadn't exactly been soundproof.

"What the fuuuuck?!" Guin screamed, as the universe decided to swallow them whole, engulfing them in strange red light, making their ship disappear, and then spitting Guin out. The next thing she knew, she was inside of a dumpster, Amidala clinging to her head in terror. "Owww... I think we ought to sue for that one, do you think the universe can be sued?" Guin grumbled, debating just taking a few minutes with her eyes closed in the dumpster, but the smell was awful. She slowly pulled herself out, finding herself in... New York City?

Home! Her heart soared and she teared up slightly, not having realized how much she had missed this place. The skyline was so gorgeous and beautiful, she could even see her home from here, Stark Tower. But then she realized it wasn't what she saw, it was what she didn't hear - the city was quiet, dead, and it was the middle of the day. "Umm... Did we miss something? Why's it so... dead? It looks like a club at opening on a Wednesday night out there...." She then noticed that the only people with her were Lance and Annie. Where were the others?! Babe? You there? I think we're in the fucking zombie apocalypse here, it's freaking me out. Babe? Baaaaabe?!

Where exactly did you end up? I'm in a wooded area with the Asgardians.

In a dumpster in New York City, somehow? The city's like fucking dead - there's hardly anyone out on the streets, it's trippy. Did something happen while we were gone?

We would have heard something though right? We weren't exactly gone for too long, it was like what, 5 or 6 months or something? Things can't go that much to hell right?

I mean it's not like super villains have a cooldown window between attacks or even coordinate to make sure it's a good time... It's possible that... Something happened... Guin bit her lip and tugged on her hair, dislodging Amidala ever so slightly. She really wanted to check on her family now, make sure that everyone was okay.

Bethany Bell

Westchester, New York, Lake Outside of Xavier's Mansion
Skills: Clairvoyance

Bethany was leaning back reading some book mainly out of boredom, being cooped up in a ship for months wasnt exactly her idea of fun, she was glad that the whole thing with Forseti was done and over with as well to. She looked out the window seeing a weird flash of light as they were pulled into the rift. The next thing that Bethany knew she was free falling and landing into some water, feeling the really cold chill, as Bethany quickly swam up to the surface as the ship they came in on crashed down sending her closer towards the shore of the lake.

Bethany started to shiver due to the cold and looked over to see Mary and Ed were with her, she was glad that they at least were able to be together. She wasnt sure where the others were though which was weird to her as Beth managed to stand up seeing the mansion in the distance turning to look at Ed and Mary. "Well this certainly isnt Kansas anymore." Bethany said jokingly as she started to use her ability and couldnt find anyone in the mansion. "Well there isnt anyone in the mansion currently, we should at least go inside and get out of the cold." Beth said.

Before they left Asgard, Antoinette was happy knowing that the Kaiju she had fought against had healed up nicely and been relocated to a new planet. Antoinette had thanked Klara several times for her help and generosity. Antoiette thought of the creature often, thinking of her pet tribble, Arnold. She was slightly glad he wasn’t around at the moment. Arnold didn’t move around much like Guin’s pet. He likely would have been squished by now.

Antoinette didn’t mind being back on the ship again. Their task was simple enough; altering Asgard to the space and time riffs that they came across so they could be fixed. It amazed Antoinette that something happening somewhere else could affect so many different things. She was currently sitting in the back of the ship, looking over her new paint set. She had been gifted it when they were on Asgard. She was told that anything she painted with these would pop off the page in a 2D image. She thought it was fitting for her illusion casting ability and was debating what she should paint first when it happened.
The space around her seemed to shrink and then snap. She was falling, then hitting hard ground. Antoinette grumbled in pain before she pushed herself up onto her knees and sat back. Antoinette rubbed her head, wondering how many more head injuries she could really sustain. One thing was apparent though, they weren’t in space anymore.

Antoinette heard Lance’s voice and then Guin’s echoing around the dumpster the three of them landed in. She pushed herself up, grabbing onto the edge of the garbage bin and looked around but didn’t see anyone else. Despite the moment, Antoinette had to smile a little. The two people she had been closer to at the beginning of her time with the X-Men but had drifted from since, were now the two people she was with. She wondered mildly if the universe was trying to say something.
Antoinette pulled herself out of the bin and landed on the ground and wiped off her hands and knees. Guin was right, it was oddly quiet for New York City. They could see Stark Tower in the distance and were in an alleyway but still; there should be horns honking and people shouting.
”Whatever we went through, must be responsible for sending us here. Do you think it was one of those space riffs? Maybe this isn’t even our New York…” Antoinette and the others were no strangers to other realities so, it was highly possible, especially if they did go through a rift in space. The question now was, where were the others? ”Guin, can you hear Pietro?” If she had a connection with him, that surely would mean they were close.

Ed Penior

Location: Westchester, New York, Lake Outside of Xavier's Mansion
Skills: Prestidigation; Tracking

Ed had sworn that he would keep an eye on Klara to Sif. He had also gathered a hair from her, with her permission, during their travels after that. It was not, in his opinion, the real Klara's hair, but it would let him know where this Klara was and heal her if necessary. That would be well enough, he supposed.

Being dropped into a lake was not a pleasant experience. But the three of them were able to get to the shore before something even more unpleasant happened. He flicked some water, and a warm glow of orange surrounded Mary, Bethany, and himself. When the light left, the group was dryer, though not perfectly dry. Only his clothes seemed to have completely dried with the spell.

"This place does have that abandoned feel to it. Glad there isn't someone lurking. Though that does mean the others could be...anywhere." Now that they knew about other realities it was possible they had slipped into a different one. Maybe even completely separate but similar worlds. He hoped not. He pulled out the vial with Runa's hair and his charm. Ed cast his tracking spell and the charm snapped to the south, pulling, indicating they were quite a distance from her. What Ed knew of American geography he had a feeling she was farther than New York City.

"Good news, at least Runa is on this planet, though very far to the south. I can go through the whole group and make sure none of them are currently in the ship." He looked at the sinking vessel and hoped they wouldn't need to do some Luke Skywalker magic to get it out of the lake later.

Wooded Area
"Oh fun, sooooo they are a lot farther away from us..." he commented, though he really needed a bit more then that to go off of. Guin had told him that they were in New York in a dumpster or something, but there were thousands of those in New York. It wasn't much and sure he probably could track her or attempt to anyway, but he wasn't too sure if there was a limit on the distance too much, or if it would work considering his head decided to get a headache at this point.

"Well, could be worse with everything or whatever right? We all could have died the instant we hit the ground, so that's something." Klara added with a bit of a shrug, looking at the other two.

Pietro started wandering around and looking at the trees, though one thing he did notice was a bit concerning to him, as in, it was really bad in his mind. He had noticed the glint of several things stuck in a nearby tree, and when he walked over, he plucked one of the objects out of the tree. It was a rather large shard of metal, which was super odd to just randomly have a bunch of pieces stuck in a tree. Looking around though, it became obvious that it wasn't just one tree. It was several.

"...I think we should try to figure out where everyone is before we run into issues..." he commented to the other two. Personally, he really hoped that the metal shards had been there for a while and that his father was no where near them. However based on his luck, that most likely was not going to be the case, so personally, he wanted to run really far away from where they were currently.

New York Alleyway
"Other reality would make some sense, however all things considering, we don't know where those rifts would lead, or when. We could have just been sent farther into the future or something like that for all we know. Since that could have been a time and space sort of rift, or it could have just been a space one, or whatever. We have no idea all things considering right now," Lance pointed out to Annie with a bit of a shrug, before he climbed out of the dumpster and dropped down onto the ground.

He looked out of the alleyway and caught a glimpse of Stark Tower from the distance that they were at, but one thing was obvious though, even from this distance, and that was all the lights in the windows that were visible were completely shut off, and so was the giant sign on the side of the building. He wasn't exactly an expert, but it didn't look like anyone was there from this distance. Okay, they really need to figure out where they are (or potentially when, since they could have time traveled too).

Guin would hear Pietro's voice in a head as he started talking again, Well crap this is a horrible place to be in, like really bad and myself and the Asgardians should probably see about getting out of this wooded area like, right now, he commented, though he wasn't exactly being very specific as to why he was saying that.

It seemed like it was a bit of a ghost town, they'd be able to hear a few voices seemingly arguing out on the main street, before the sounds of footsteps as someone turned down they alleyway that they were in, seemingly didn't notice them as the person was wearing a hoodie and ran right towards them with their head down looking at the ground as they were racing along.

The Mansion
"Agreed, getting out of the cold or whatever would be nice," she said to Bethany and Ed, though she wondered what the hell was going on with the mansion and why it looked the way that it did. "Yeah, see if you can find at least a general area of where the others are to make things a bit easier... Though I don't think they are in the water, since based on that... I don't think anyone else would still even be in there alive or not..." Mary added slightly to Ed, before she led the way up to the main building, and as they'd walk up the pathway, they'd notice a few things.

The first obvious thing, was that the pathway was overgrown and broken, as if it hadn't been maintained or even really touched in years. The gardens and the lawn were completely overgrown with weeds, and the mansion itself definitely had seen better days. There were a few holes in some of the walls, and vines and other plant life had climbed up the walls and covered the entire building. The front door had some plants covering it, and when they reached it, Mary waved a hand and they shrunk back, before she decided to try the door.

Due to it clearly not having been used in years, it took a few moments for her to be able to force it open, and with the door swinging, she glanced over at Bethany. "Uhhh... I thought you said that no one was here?" Mary asked her, before stepping aside so that the other two could see what it was.

The inside, despite the outward appearance, resembled more closely what the school looked like on a typical day, with various students wandering around the foyer halls of the school. Though in a few places they would be able to see the damage that was apparent on the outside of the house. One thing was clear, the inside of the mansion did not really match up with its outwards appearance.

"...I think someone is here..." she added, though not too sure who. The people walking by didn't seem to notice them at all, even though a cold breeze blew through the doorway inside, they didn't react to it at all. As if it wasn't even there.

Bethany Bell

Westchester, New York, Lake Outside of Xavier's Mansion -> Xavier's Mansion Foyer.
Skills: N/A

Bethany felt her clothes drying up slightly and turned towards Ed giving him a slight nod. "Thanks." Beth said as she turned to watch their ship slowly sinking some more. "Well looks like our ride isnt going to be getting out anytime soon, but yeah i'm pretty sure that we'd hear someone calling out for help." Beth said as she started to follow shortly behind Mary through the grounds noting how delipidated everything looked right now. She just really wanted to get out of the cold right now as they made their way towards the front door seeing that the door was covered in overgrowth from the plants, luckily Mary was able to get the vines away from the door.

Bethany looked inside seeing what looked to be students wandering the halls, she looked at Mary and shrugged slightly. "I don't use it that often so maybe it's sometimes wrong." Beth said as she entered the mansion's foyer, and made her way straight over towards one of the students who seemed to be ignoring all of them, gently grabbing their shoulder "Hey is there anyone we can talk-" Bethany was about to finish her sentence when her hand quickly phased through the student's shoulder. "I guess I was wrong then, someone might be here or these are either illusions or they could be holograms." Beth said taking a step back from the student.

Runa Baldurdattir

Location: the Woods
Skills: Asgardian Magic

"What is it?" Runa asked Pietro, as she continued to cast her spell. She wanted to determine where everyone was and this wood seemed safe enough of a place to do so. Once that was done, she figured they could journey off to retrieve them and see about procuring another craft so they could continue their mission of identifying further rifts in the fabric of space-time. Forseti was her brother - it was the very least she could do, cleaning up his messes. Her spell indicated that Mary was in the same location as Edus. She then cast the runes again, this time focusing in on Annie, who seemed to be with Lance.

She threw the runes again and found that Bethany was up with Mary and Edus, and lastly, Guin was with Lance and Annie. It was awfully convenient that everyone had been placed into groups - and for the best. She knew that some of the X-Men were better at protecting themselves than others. "Marygold, Edus, and Bethany are all together - as are Annie, Lance, and Guinevere. Pietro, do you feel up for a run? Or shall I procure us some magical means of travel?" Runa asked calmly.

Guin Stark

Location: New York City Alleyway
Skills: Telepathy

Guin nodded, thinking that Annie was likely right - it had to have been one of those rifts that Runa's loser brother had caused. It was possible that there were other problems in space, but the simplest solution was usually the correct one - right? She vaguely recalled that Star Trek had some plot about a Mirror Universe or something, maybe if this was a rift, it had taken them to something like that. "If it was time travel, we're not in the past - at least, not too far in the past. And if I had to guess, not too far in the future either," Guin proposed. She could buy that they had been displaced by a few years, but certainly not more than a decade or two.

"Yeah, I can hear him. He's in the woods with the Asgardians - so wherever they are, they're at least in the same timeline and general location as us." She then paused to respond to Pietro, her eyebrows furrowing with concern. Can you run and get out of there then? What's going on? Guin asked. "Something's wrong, I think he's in --" Guin then stopped abruptly in the middle of her sentence. Some rushed past them in the alleyway. Guin caught a glimpse of their mind and it shocked her, so much so that she took another peak.

It was all too much. Guin's hands flew up to her head and she stumbled backwards, crying out. It was hard for her to make sense of it all - the Hellfire Club, the Brotherhood, and the Defenders waging war for control of New York City. Lance's death at Quicksilver's hands and his resurrection. The drug use and the cult. Lance. She struggled to catch her breath. "... This is definitely another reality - we're not in Kansas anymore," she said, her voice a bit shaky. "... Any chance anyone has water? Or Ibuprofen?"

Antoinette McCarthy

Location: Dumpster —> Alleyway – New York City
Skills:

Antoinette nodded along with what Lance and Guin were saying. They were all in agreement that they likely weren’t on the timeline they just left. Whether that was present, past or a whole other reality was yet to be determined. Antoinette started to wander around the alleyway and peek back into the dumpster, looking for something that might tell them what day it was.
Antoinette was relieved to hear that Guin had contact with Pietro. ”That’s good. We can try and regroup with them.” At least they were all in the same relative area, hopefully Bethany, Edus and Mary as well. Antoinette found an old newspaper and looked it over to find the date. ”Well, this newspaper is a few weeks old I think but the year is current to our year.” She looked away from the paper and down the alleyway. ”Strange.” And Antoinette had a love for all things strange.
As she was looking down the alleyway, someone turned the corner and started running straight for them and right past. Clearly they hadn’t noticed the trio standing there. Antoinette looked back at the paper and then snapped her head up when Guin cried out. Antoinette dropped the paper and hurried to Guin’s side. She confirmed they were in another reality which would explain the similar dates on the newspaper but just not their dates.
”I have nothing. Maybe we should go to Stark Tower,” Antoinette suggested. ”What did you see, Guin?”

Ed Penior

Location: Westchester, New York, Outside of Xavier's Mansion
Skills: Tracking

Ed couldn't figure out what the purpose of holograms or illusions would be in such a way. He stared at the students going about their day as if they were ghosts. He wondered if maybe they were ghosts. That was something they could investigate. At least they were on something resembling home turf though.

He reached into his pocket and started pulling vials with each member of the group's hair in them. Each had been carefully labeled after he had collected the hair. He smiled at the memories of it. There was an extra vial. One for a member of their group who was dead and gone. He placed it with the others but did not pick it up as he went, as quickly as he dared, through each strand. Testing where they were. It seemed they were broken into two groups. Pietro and Klara are way down south by Runa. Whereas Lance, Guin, and Annie are still south of where they are, but closer, most likely New York City. His spell had been fine-tuned for a broader search when he went looking for Lance's father in the stars. It, however, still did not give a precise location and that was as good as it was going to get without shifting if more.

"Everyone, is alive. Pietro, Klara and Runa are far south of us, seemingly together or close enough that they'll find each other. Lance, Guin and Annie are, as best as I can tell together in New York City." He said, letting Mary know. Then putting his vials back into his pockets.

"...It's just I have a really really bad feeling about all of this..." Pietro commented, before he looked at the other two. Of course, everything was strange, but one thing was obvious, he was kind of nervous with regards to who they might run into. So many sort of things were racing through his mind as he was thinking about what they could really do with regards to everything.

"I mean, who knows what all is going on here right? And hey, at least, we have an idea of vaguely where everyone else is right? That's great. Right?"

"I mean yeah, guess that's a good thing right?" Pietro admitted, before in a little distance, they'd be able to hear a sort of commotion nearby. Despite figuring it was a bad idea in general, Pietro moved to sort of see what was going on in general, and he'd see an interesting sight. It looked to be a sparring match of sorts, for whatever reason in general. The area was a lot more clear then the rest of the woods, and parts of trees clearly had been burned down to work to clear the space in general. One person they rather easily could see was Sabretooth, who looked like he was sort of swatting a fly or something. Well, turns out the "fly" in the sparring match was another very familiar silver streak that was zipping around Sabretooth, and they could easily hear Pietro's voice laughing, before every so often the other speedster in the conflict stopped, and laughing a little bit at Sabretooth's attempts to hit him.

"Come on Sabretooth, you can hit better then that right?" he taunted with a bit of a laugh towards him.

New York Alleyway
The figure in the alley screeched to a halt with his running and whirled around, his eyes going wide and his hood fell down when he spun around, and seeing his face, Lance couldn't help but wonder what the actual hell is going on? Why did he think that sort of thing?

It was because he literally saw himself.

Of course, the counterpart wasn't completely identical, he was a bit pale, and honestly look like he had been through hell or something, but it was plainly obvious that it was him. "Ok... This is weird..." Lance muttered, before his counterpart literally took off running again and out of sight.

Another figure raced into view, and she let out a bit of a sigh, though she looked to be around the same age as they were. "Lance come on, you know dad will get pissed off again if you don't come back. Seriously are you trying to get yourself killed again or something?" she asked, as she walked up to him, more or less ignoring Guin and Annie entirely.

"Uh sorry, think you have the wrong person," Lance commented, clearly a bit weirded out and nervous about the entire thing.

"Don't try to pull that sort of thing again, come on let's go before we both end up in trouble."

Yeah, this was a really weird situation to be in, though Guin having seen the mind of the other version of Lance would know a few things about this person. One, her name was Lana and she was Lance's twin sister, and two, she likely was referring to the fact that Banner typically tried to keep an eye on the pair of them considering one had ended up dead, and until recently the other had been kidnapped into a cult and all of that chaos. Yeah, this was definitely going to be fun to deal with.

The Mansion
Something that Bethany had said clicked a bit in her mind, and the gears started turning a little bit as she turned her attention back towards Ed as he stated where the others were. "Alright, we can see about catching up with the others and finding them later... At least everyone is in a relatively similar area and at least on the continent... Then again, we have something else to think about... These are kind of like holograms... But..." she said, her voice sort of tapering off a bit with her last sentence as she continued to think about the entire situation in general.

"Does this place still have power?" she ended up asking out loud, as she moved to flip one of the old light switches, as it sort of zapped a bit and sparked, which ensured that the school, despite its appearances, had electricity, which caused her to have a few other ideas. Now, technically the school mainly had the elevators used to get to the lower levels, however there were ways and stairways scattered throughout to allow people to get down there or back up, typically in the case of emergency.

"I'll be right back, need to go check something," she said instantly, before racing off down one of the first floor hallways, eventually she came to one of the stairways and headed straight down into the basement. The security system in the mansion likely would still be working as long as the mansion had power, and that bugged her as to why it might not have been working or something. Unless the holograms on the first floor more or less was the mansion going off and was a part of the system. A system that was run by one person, who likely wouldn't have shown up in any sort of situation, since she wasn't technically a "living thing", so if Bethany had been looking for anyone living, then that made sense that she wouldn't pop up. "Danger? Are you down here?" Mary called out as she reached one of the basement levels.

Upstairs where Mary had left Bethany and Ed, they'd be able to see the ghosts or whatever they were started to more or less sort of "glitch" out. A few of them walked to each other to talk, froze for a second, before looping back to them walking up. There were a few other glitches here and there, but aside from that one, they were more or less a lot less obvious. More students walked into the area and were doing random things or just going about their day. Though they would notice one of the ghosts resembled Mary a bit, though it was a version of her that was a few years younger then she currently was.
