Tipping his tankard back, Zagren snorted disappointedly at the measly size of the metal cup in his large meaty hand. In the hands of a dragonborn like him the cup looked more like an oversized thimble "Barkeep!" he shouted, slapping the counter top "Bigger mug, I big man," the dragonborn spoke in a matter-of-fact tone leaning on the bar "Get me biggest cup, I pay!"

Wisk/Sonnlinor Skora

"Damn this cold..." Skora cursed under her breath as she rode through the artic Dale snow on the back of a Sled being pulled by a pack of sleddogs. She enjoyed it at first, but found it too cold to properly find pleasure. Not for the first time, she wondered why the nine hells she agreed to this pilgramage to The Great Anvil. Though, admitable she was exceided, she was most definatly tired of this cursed land. "You know, we could be nice and warm down south, there's pleanty of dwarveny stuff somewhere... warmer" Wisk mumbled in her head but the priestss rolled her eyes and ignored herself. As she drew close to the town of Easthaven, she would hurry to her feet, excited to finally be in some form of civilivation. "Welcome to Easthaven ma'am. I would watch your step as you hop out, snow can be quite slippery! If you're in need of lodge, look for the White Lady Inn." As the wagon came to a snop, the dwarf would give the man five gold pieces and climbed down from the wagon, carful not to slip. She would bid the man a good night and thank him for the ride, offering a blessing of Moradin for his help and troubles. Smoothing out her fur winter coat, the cleric would begain to walk around town, greeting all who passes by. She would walk around Easthaven, trying to map out two things. first where, if any, the local smith was, and then secondly the White Lady Inn.

The innkeep set down a flagon before Zagren, [color=bc8dbf]"This the largest over got before I have to use one of my cooking pots and I'm not doing that. That'll be eight silvers."

Skora was not able to find a local smithy in Easthaven. It seemed most of their metal work was brought in from Bry Shander. The White Lady inn was easy enough to find near the docks.

DM notes to players:

It is now getting close to late after noon, around 3 or 4 pm. Dusk will be falling shortly and the snow is starting to fall pretty heavily.

Looking from the barkeep to the modestly sized tankard, the dragonborn fell silent for a moment before sighing through his nostrils and fishing eight pieces of silver from the coin pouch at his side "Hmph, fine." Zagren grumbling relented to the offer, not wishing to look a complete fool "It is saa-tasfac-tory." he spelled out the word with struggle taking the tankard, turning back to his snowy furred drinking companion "You said you..." the warrior had to think a moment setting the veritable pitcher of ale down "Need to do some-thing?"

Sonnlinor Skora

Seeing that it was starting to get late and the snow grew heavier, Skora made her way to the White Lady Inn to escape the frigged cold. The priestess would approch the door, patting as much of the snow off of her as she could before entering the building. The warmth washed over her instantly and prayer to Moradin escapped her lips. Lowering her hood and removing her goggles, Skora would make her way to the bar. "How much for a large cup of mead or ale, something warm to drink and a room for the night?"

Player Note: I realized I had not made a discription for Skora so I'll do so here.

Skora is about average female dwarf build with fiery red hair and long sideburns along the sides of her face (since female dwarves SHOULD have beards but she's technicallya changling and found the beard annoying). Main things diffrent from the pic is such:
~ There is a hammer and anvil tattooed on her forhead noting her faith and tattooed sleaves of dwarven style knotwork along both arms (when visible.)
~ She has a large warhammer on her back and two daggers resting on her hips.
~ Unlike most clerics, she seems to favor leather armor rather then chain or plate.

"Three silver fornthe meal an two silver for the room."

The inn keeper grabs a bowel and fills it with stew and motions to the man by the kegs to pour a tankard. She sets the bowel on the counter and looks over to Sonnlinor. "So what brings you to Easthaven?

Sonnlinor Skora

Skora would pay with a gold piece before taking the bowl. "I've come north to find the ancient Dwarven stronghold of Dorn's Deep on a pilgrimage to The Great Forge" snapping, Skora would pull out her journal, "have you heard any stories, myths or Rumors of Dorn's Deep or of an ancient Dwarven stronghold up here? A town elder or scholar would be mighty helpful!"

"Dorin's Deep? Can't say I've heard of such place, though it maybe be up in Kelvin's Cairn. I suppose the speaker may know more and there might be something in the library 'bout it." The innkeeper scoops the coin from the counter and pockets it and returns five silver to the dwarf. "'nthing else I can get for you?"

Wisk/Sonnlinor Skora

Skora would put a hand up, signifying for the innkeep to keep the change. "This speaker, where might I be able to find them?" Skora would dive into her meal and drink, seeking both the warmth on the inside as well as the outside, "I must admit, this is amazing! Best I've eaten in days!" in the back of her head, Wisk would mumble "that's cause we've been traveling for days by sled and only had frozen rations". Skora would send a mental note to quiet as she resumed eating.

Player note: Just for refrance, Sonnlinor is not a name of Skora's. Sonnlinor is a title of priesthood specifically for followers of Moradin and is is similar to saying Father so and so.

"He'll be in the town hall. That's in the middle of town and hard to miss. Only building 'round here that is has three floors."

Just then the captain of the guard opens the door bringing a young woman in with her. Once she undoes enough of her weather gear all can see the visible frown on the woman guard's face. She walks over with her companion to the other end of the hall close to the hearth. She nods over to the innkeeper who quickly walks over to see what the pair need.

After conversing with the two the innkeeper walks quickly back into the kitchen and returns about fifteen minutes later with a loaf of hot bread and a platter of freshly seared meat. She also brings out a steaming flagon wrapped in a towel to help keep whatever is inside it warm. Once everything was on the table, the innkeeper returns to her counter followed by the man who was by the kegs. They stand away from any customers and talk to each other in hushed tones.

The woman who arrived with Imdra, the guard captain, seems to be lost in thought and absent mindedly eats the food brought for her. Imdra does not eat but instead nurses a mug of ale.

Dullin

Dullin eyed the new girl in the bar carefully. Initially the tattoos on her face made the wizard weary, but as she listened to the bartender talk, she couldn't help but feel relieved to see clergy here in this godforsaken dale.
"Now that woman, she's who you talk to about getting your weapon enchanted, Domic" She stated bluntly and loudly, promoting a chance for the woman to hear that there were others who would be interested in her quarry.

Dullin was about to order the woman a drink when she saw how ravenously she ate. Unfortunately, the guards and their erratic behavior quickly stole her interest. She tried to listen in, but amongst the clinks of glasses and the crackle of the fire, Dullin couldn't hear. She merely bid her time, waiting for the bartender and his mate to begin griping. In a practiced move she flicked her wrist, releasing a swirling blue mist that slowly gave way to an old, mangled black cat. The snarl-toothed cretin hunkered down near the bar, just out of sight, silently listening to the two talk.

Kythor

Once the seance had concluded and he had chatted to the halfling some about how he was able to perform the seance, Kythor thought to himself about what the halfling was asking him to do. To Kythor, the challenge of survival up here was what made his life the way it was, what gave it purpose. While it was most certainly true that things have been getting worse recently, especially since his separation from the tribe, in a way he saw it as a challenge that must be met. It meant that he could prove to himself and others what he was capable of, to really hammer home the teachings of his elders. Instead, it seemed that people were more invested in making this land more accomodating. The tiefling was left torn on how he should feel about this. On the one hand, it was certainly a shame that the miserable conditions had caused so much loss of life. On the other hand, the elders had taught him that when faced with adversity, he had three options: bend, break, or begone. He and his kin had spent much time learning to bend to the land, even though they were forced to depart from their original homes in the cities... So, it was certainly up to those who came to see to it that they could survive everything this land could throw at them... right?

He wasn't certain. Kythor shook his head, having long since been left to his thoughts by the halfling, before finally rejoining the others in the main hall of the tavern. Although he saw everybody gathering for drinks, Kythor wanted to finish up the last bit of business that they had come in here for initially: finding someone who could navigate the treacherous waters to help find the fishermen, or what was left of them. If the spirit had told the truth, they would be possibly facing a hag, which would no doubt make their journey that much more difficult if she decided to interfere. After a bit of thought, he decided to approach the half elf, Simon Erickson.

Kythor approached the table and propped his arms flat onto the top of a chair, leaning on it as he looked at the potential sailor. "Simon Erickson, yeah?" Kythor began. "Heard you're in need of some coin after an incident involvin' an oil lantern and a clumsy orc. As it just so happens, my companions and I are in need 'a someone who can guide a boat through treacherous waters. Possibly with or without a hag involved, more likely with than without. Think you're up to the task?"

The half elf takes a deep drink while observing Kythor. "I presume you are wanting to go along the coastline? If it is just working the boat I'll do it for four gold. That should be sufficient to pay for some of the supplies I'll need. Do you have a boat to use or will I need to rent one from the docks?"

Foxfire

Foxfire merely watched Zagren in interest as he demanded for more alcohol. She looked away from him to look at the dwarf who just entered.

Something about her was odd.

Her attention was drawn back to Zagren when he asked that she had something she needed to do. She answered him, "Yeah. There's something I need to do. Or rather, someone I need to face before I can move on and actually call myself a warrior,"

She grinned and clarified for Zagren with two words,

"The Frostmaiden,"

"The Frostmaiden."

Lifting the tankard to his mouth, Zagren's arm froze in hesitation before he could down a gulp of the frothy ale it was filled with instead setting it down lightly.

He didn't know how to respond, he was surprised but exactly overjoyed with what his friend with snow-white fur had eluded. "Hmph...Interesting." the mighty warrior rumbled, there was reluctance in his tone as if he wanted to say something different "Enjoyed drink," he said in a tired voice "I must go, something need do. I be back." the dragonborn got up from the bar, his chair caused a racket as he pushed his weight off of it giving the shifter a nod before making his way to the fireplace where a leather bundle was resting, his greatsword wrapped within the worn and beaten leather.

Then, with his weapon slung over his broad shoulders Zagren left without a word out into the cold night yet as he stepped out of the inn wearing naught but a fur mantle, the dragonborn didn't even break into a shiver. After all the cold never bothered him, Auril made sure of that.

Foxfire

Foxfire raised an eyebrow at his reaction. She had expected laughter or derision to her honest statement, but instead he headed out into the cold. She shrugged it off, and instead turned her attention to the dwarf who entered. Something about her bothered Foxfire. So, without hesitation Foxfire stood from her seat and approached the dwarf.

After giving a hard stare, the monk spoke, "...You smell weird. Completely different than the other dwarves around here. So, what are you?"

"Umm... did this crazy cat, dog, ferret... lady... thing... just say we smelly weird?!" Skora tells the changling's inner voice to shut the hell up before looking at the stranger and responding, "Um... hello there lass. That's an interesting way to put it but I apologize, I've been traveling for the last few days with hounds and haven't had a chance to bathe yet..." Skora would put the mug down and offers her a hand "Sonnlinor Skora, 'dwarven' priestess of Moradin"

Dullin

Dullin sipped away at her drink as her eyes began to glow a feint hue of blue. For a moment, she and hunter heard the same worlds coming from the bartender and his protege. As her companions moved away from the silent wizard she let out a gasp as reality of their words caught her attention.

Dullin looked over at the young woman who had come in, a wave of her and as she dismissed hunter. Seeing her new dragonborn friend has left the premises and Fox was busy hassling the dwarf, Dullin Silently slipped over to the Guard and the withered woman. She didn't bother to sit, with the situation as it was, she wasn't sure she would want to either.
"A little birdie told me about your... Lottery. My companions don't seem to seem to fear Auril, why let yours condemn an innocent woman?" She said harshly but in a hush. Stirring up a commotion wasn't in her interest, but saving a life was.
"What's it going to take to talk you out of this?"

Imdra takes a big drink then starts to rub her temples. "If we back out of this the other towns will do more than just kill one person. But you wouldn't know this would you outsider? Do you think I enjoy this? Do you think I want to watch people I swore to protect be sentenced to a cold death? If I could end this I would, but there was an agreement made between to towns to try to appease Auril. If we stop we break the pact that was made and much worse could come of it." Imdra stands up abruptly staring right into Dullin's eyes. "No, you know nothing outsider. Maybe you should learn to not stick your nose into business that does not concern you. This is already hard enough please do not make thise any harder for me."

At this point several of the patrons of the inn look over to Imdra with a curious, though some a concerned, look on their faces. The innkeepers are also both looking waiting to see what Imdra does. She looks towards them and shakes her head and sits back down.

Many of the patrons return to what they were doing but the in was notably quieter than before.

Dullin

The out burst was expected, at the very least she was glad this captain of the guard wasn't a corrupt one. Where Dullin in her shoes, she wondered if she would do any different. A lot of people where relying on this woman's sacrificial death it seemed.

Despite the captain's temper Dullin remained unfazed. She was used to the people of Icewind Dale treating her this way, and it far from the first time someone told her not to know her place, she never listened though.
"Does it have to be the woman? We're after a hag, could we sacrifice them instead?" Dullin asked in a hushed tone, looking to the crowd with growing concern. A captain of the guard was one thing, but a mob was not in her itinerary.
