The one thing that you may not be ready to hear is that im aware of all of those restrictions, yes every single one of them. Ive been playing 40kRPs since 2011. So lets deal with them one by one.
It's not like i'm exactly new to this setting myself.
The title is Beastmaster of the Blackened Anvil. Do i really need to prove that there are many anvils and some of them are blackened? The name is meant to be almost a location similar to how Leonardo Di Vinci basically translates to Leonard of Venice. If you arnt allowing titles why did you include them in a name generator?
I did not in fact create that name generator myself. I merely found it while browsing online and realized it made pretty good lore-accurate names in the Salamander style. I didn't think it needed to be said that mere scouts would not have earned themselves titles.
A fact that i fully accommodated in the picture. See how his face is blackened by ash? There aren't alot of pictures of salamanders. I chose this picture because it represented a marine in a transitional state between flesh colour to charcoal black.
I acknowledge that the variety of artwork for unhelmeted Salamanders, specifically scouts is... slim to say the least. So I suppose I can accept that some imagination is required by the observer to darken the skin themselves. But you could always just do a written description?
Im sorry but all salamanders are craftsmen and artisans. They are known to craft all of their own equipment and thus a scout crafting 3 inferno grenades in a chapter defined by flame weaponry is not out of the ordinary. Especially as all marines not only are genetically related to Vulkan but also evolve to become more like him over time.
Yes they are, but you have not lived long enough to be a master crasftman. It's one thing to say that you've forged your own combat knife (perfectly logical) But your character has somehow mastered beast-taming & grenade manufacture all while undergoing training, trials and constant surgeries? i'm sorry but no. It's just not that logical. Everyone's characters will have learned something of forge-craft and of the promethean cult. No doubts at all about that. But you'll likely learn how to repair your bolter & armour before you learn how to master explosive munitions.
The White Scars are on record as having trained falcons. Yes the space wolves train fenrisian wolves. Im pretty sure that Raven Guard get ravens, being that inquisitors are also known to have ravens and eagles as pets.
This is my attempt to incorporate the known trait of compassion that salamanders have into a real world example such as someone who would tame and master animals rather than just kill them straight away like a psychopath.
Quite true, Some white scars captains & heroes use Cyber eagles. Notably hunt masters like Kor'sarro Khan, A thought that slipped my mind. They are still not common within the white scars. Only heroes like Kor'sarro, maybe a chaplain or a stormseer would be permitted to have one, certainly not a rank and file brother.
But Regardless, at the risk of being seen as glib you are not a captain or a company hero nor a brother of the white scars nor an inquisitor. You're a Salamander neophyte and again, the Salamanders themselves have no history of allowing this.
Fair enough, i was only really looking for a feline-type animal. What about a Phyrr cat?
No personal pets of any kind. Sorry. Besides it's also not something native to Nocturne and thus no real reason why you would ever have come into contact with one.
Incorrect. Failed space marine aspirants are issued with stub weaponry and are used as indentured servants. They are often used to repel borders when an Astartes ship is attacked, being that they are not true space marines. So this proves atleast that such weapons exist. I was mainly trying to avoid making the claim that i have both a boltgun and a bolt pistol, however im ready to admit im wrong in this case. My character is not a chapter serf.
Sure, chapter serfs may use autoguns & stub weapons. I do not, nor will I ever deny that. I never implied they didn't exist either, but you are neither of those things. You passed your initial trials so you get to use the important guns.
And that is basically what im saying my character has chosen to do. Not all space marines are tactical, some are exclusively assault marines for example. This means that the tactical marines are a bit of a jack of all trades master of none, whereas someone making a character for this RP for example could choose to be an assault marine with knife/pistol and this would be a perfectly valid choice.
alright, perhaps I didn't do a great job explaining this in the OP. but no one is a 'tactical' specialist. Or an assault specialist or a devestator specialist. You are scouts. You will use a variety of equipment and play a variety of rolls, and do whatever is required of you. If you're trying to say that your character prefers the straightforwardness and broad utility of a bolter, that's awesome and understandable. But he isn't a 'tactical scout' he may be required to pick up a shotgun, or a sniper rifle or a heavy bolter or a chainsword if the need calls. Your character has not been chosen to fufill any roll as of yet. That is the point of serving in the scout company. This is your battlefield experience that your instructors will then pass on to future captains. This is were you learn to use the weapons and tactics and get the first inklings of what you may be proficient with. You haven't that chance as of yet to be marked for any specific role or future function.
In conclusion, i hope you didnt read this in too impertinent a tone. Im sure that once we're over this stumbling block we can get onto some really interesting RP.
I don't think you're being Impertinent, At least not any more than I am likely coming off as glib despite my best intentions. But understand where i'm coming from there is some rather generous interpretation of lore going on here.
