Our story began many years ago when a star fell to the Earth. But this was no ordinary star, in fact it wasn't a star at all. It was a curious young woman with strangely pale skin. Her name was Kaguya Otsutsuki and she was a goddess from the Heavenly Realm. Kaguya had fancied herself taking a little vacation down to Earth to see these curious new creations called humans and their communities known as villages. What she hadn't expected to happen on her little excursion was to fall in love. He was a prince and it was only fitting because she was the princess of the gods. Her life on Earth had become a dream and not long after she gave birth to triplets. Two boys, Hagoromo and Hamura, and a girl Harumi. Her world had brightened and she had so much to live for, but first she had to do something about the warring nations if her husband and children were to live in peace. She knew that using her godly powers to change mankind in such a way was forbidden, but she didn't care. She went around bringing peace to the lands, by force if necessary and for a while everything seemed okay. That was until she tried to bring her children to the Heavenly Realm to see their family. Her father had forbade them access denouncing her as his child for her crimes of loving a human, having children with one, and using her powers to change the course of human history.
This enraged Kaguya but her anger was a slow burn building overtime. She missed her home and started to resent her husband, her children, and the world she had grown to love. When her husband died she became a tyrant in his place. She took her anger and hatred out on the people who worshipped her and once they were old enough her children decided they needed to put an end to their mother's reign and sealed her on the Moon. Hamura went to the moon with a few of his followers to watch over his mother, Harumi went on her own journey around the world to find a way back to the Heavenly Realm, and Hagoromo became the fabled Sage of Six Paths and his legend inspired many a generation hoping to achieve Sagehood and become a god of this world.
Many years later two of Hagoromo's descendants Hashirama Senju and Madara Uchiha fought a battle that would decide the fate of the shinobi world for years to come. Madara fell to his longtime friend and rival and Hashirama died sometime after from damage sustained from the fight and chakra exhaustion to maintain his health. The deaths of these two candidates for Sagehood inspired the coming generations to grow stronger and in that pursuit of strength war among the nations continued. It wasn't until the almost simultaneous Second and Third Shinobi Wars where peace among the nations seemed to be within reach. The bringer of said peace? The young grandson of Madara, Ryuusei Uchiha. Under the guidance of Hiruzen Sarutobi he, his twin brother Denjiro Uchiha, and their friend Hikaru Hatake spread peace throughout the battlefield. While Ryuusei chose to make allies and friends with people he fought and defeated Denjiro and Hikaru had a more forceful approach to peace. During the era of the Second War the three of them became known as Konoha's Legendary Sannin due to their power and Sage training.
In between the two wars Ryuusei started training the next generation of Sannin. Three genin who had a range of talent and the potential to surpass even him. Their names were Katari Uzumaki, Tala Inuzuka, and Megumi Nara. Their time to shine came during the Third Shinobi War. It was during this time that Ryuusei came up with the Rasengan to teach his students chakra manipulation and shaping. With this jutsu he changed the course of the war, but at the same time sealed his doom. His brother's growing jealousy and resentment were reaching the top of the container he had placed them in. His brother continued to surpass him and move closer to becoming the new Sage of Six Paths and he couldn't stand it. So using the principles of his brother's jutsu he created his own, the Chidori, and prepared to enact his plan of execution.
It came one fateful night. It was as dark as Denjiro's soul being brightened only by the bolts of lightning that escaped from the clouds above. He moved stealthily throughout the Uchiha stronghold using his time with the ANBU and the leader of their ROOT to his advantage. He made his way into the blind Samurai's home and killed both he and his wife without much of a fight stealing her eyes in the process. He let his ROOT handle the setting up of the crime scene before he went for his real advantage. Ryuusei had seen this betrayal coming years ago with his Mangekyou Sharingan, but had hoped it wouldn't have come to pass. He couldn't bring himself to kill his brother, but he wouldn't let him get everything he wanted. He had removed his own eyes prior to their meeting and accepted his fate as Denjiro attacked him in fury with his Samurai blade enhanced Chidori.
The next morning the bodies of Ryuusei and the samurai's wife were discovered by none other than Denjiro himself. The culprit was long gone escaping under the cover of the storm and no doubt any tracks would have been washed away by now. The news quickly spread throughout the Village and not soon after outside it. Some of the other villages took the news as an opportunity to crush the Leaf Village once and for all. The only one not to have such delusions was the Mist Village who were still allied with the Leaf and honoring Ryuusei by not attacking his Village in their grief. His three students chose to handle their grief differently. They set off separately to head off the Sand, Cloud, and Stone Villages. Katari crashed into the Raikage with an elemental enhanced Rasengan of her own killing him in the process and sending his forces running. Tala fought the 8 Tailed Snake Jinchuuriki of the Stone in the middle of the Rain Village defeating him but devastating the village in the process. Megumi fought the Kazekage and forced him to retreat after seeing the battle wouldn't be as easy as he once thought. The three officially became known as the new Legendary Sannin and helped in the efforts of a peace treaty.
The Cloud Village elected a new Raikage before peace talks began and an agreement was made to split the 2 Tails Cat and place one half in his son and the other in Katari although she initially declined. The Rain Village's Kage was given the 5 Tailed Dog to make up for the devastation they caused. After the treaty was signed and things died down for a little Katari was made the youngest Hokage in their history at the age of eighteen. Unfortunately the beginning of her term wasn't going to be simple. Soon came time to seal the Kyuubi into a new host. Except this time they were planning to split it and place it into two hosts. The candidates were the twin half Uzumaki grandchildren of Ryuusei. That was until his brother and nephew, Shinji, had other plans. Their half Senju cousin Hiro was born around the same time and so it was time for Denjiro to die as well. On the night of the sealing ritual Shinji faked the assassination of his father while taking his eyes for the next stage of the convoluted plan. He then kidnapped his son and his niece, Kaeda, and would only return them if Katari and the elders agreed to implant his father's eyes into each of the two children and make his son the host of the Yin half of the Kyuubi. They reluctantly agreed as they didn't have much time as the Yang half was already sealed inside Kaeda's brother Ayume. After the forced agreement was made Shinji left the village to accompany his father, the now truly blind Ronin, and Hikaru Hatake for whatever devious plans they had next.

Alright, folks! There you have it. There's more to the lore that will be revealed through the course of the roleplay, but this is what you need to know for now. The goal of every generation is essentially to become one of the strongest shinobi so you can become the next Sage of Six Paths. No one has accomplished it yet, but you see what happens when they get close. Senjutsu is more prevalent in this universe as well with many different animal Sages.
Every village will be important but the focus will primarily be on Konoha following similar, but also different paths to the manga.
Here's some information on the clans in this roleplay. The insect clans like the Aburame and the like are descendants of the original 7 Tailed Jinchuuriki, the Inuzuka are descendants of the original 5 Tailed Dog Jinchuuriki, Sarutobi from the original 4 Tailed Jinchuuriki, and the varying cat clans from the 2 Tailed Jinchuuriki. The Uchiha Clan has absorbed both the Hatake and Haruno clans using them to help create stronger offspring/ninja. The Uzumaki Clan has been spread throughout the big and small nations settling wherever they could after their original village was destroyed. The Senju Clan is also still prevalent, but still not as large as they used to be. Jugo's clan still exists and are closely related to the Kaguya Clan. All clans in the Mist Village still exist because there was no Kekkei Genkai purge.
Unfortunately there are no available Jinchuuriki spots as they've been claimed by NPC's and my and the Co-GM's characters for story purposes. But there will be a point in the story where a few may potentially open up.
The usual rules for roleplays pertain here.
Everyone will be starting as Genin on the day of team selections, but if you want to make a sensei for a village PM me. Our genin will all have the basic jutsu of tree and water walking as well as any other academy jutsu.
There have been changes made to the Seven Swords of the Hidden Mist. If anyone plans to make a character there PM me for more information.
