@Dusty I like most of it, but the only question is I was wondering how you envisioned his fleet to function in more of a narrative sense. I don't know if I caught how long most of them would have been around Tal, or where most of his crew comes from -- like if they've been around forever or if they're all new additions.

While the Shistavanen are considered a humanoid species, the similarities between them and humanity end at general body shape. Brask is unmistakably lupine, sharing the short muzzle and sharp claws of his species as well as the abundance of fur. His pelt ranges in shades of grey from light to nearly black, a thick covering coating his body save for old scars across his back and chest. One eye is a luminous red while the other is simply nonexistent, the shrapnel-shredded socket covered by a simple eyepatch. He's notably larger than most members of his kind, imposing in both stature and strength. His bulk is emphasized by the heavy weapons he carries and the armor he wears, an ensemble that marks him as a Mandalorian.

Personality

Brask is gregarious and open with his comrades, a firm believer in the bond formed between soldiers on the battlefield. When not actively getting shot at he is more than happy to share a drink or swap stories. The fastest way to gain his friendship is with a friendly contest of some sort, usually a sparring match. He is courageous but not overly so, unwilling to risk his or his allies lives in the face of insurmountable odds.

The friendly exterior isn't a lie per say, but it's not the entire truth. Beneath the charming soldier facade is a side not seen in any but the most distateful circumstances. Brask has little issue with performing tasks that would be considered distateful at best and criminal at worst. His time in Death Watch saw him waging war on innocent civilians, setting off bombs and torching villages in order to distract or delay the forces of the Republic. While he's not about to go out and massacre a spaceport for the hell of it there is little he wouldn't do to advance the goals of the Alliance, and with it those of what he considers to be true Mandalorians.

Biography

Brask was born on Uvena Prime, a planet consisting of vast seas and sprawling forests stretched out across the continents. As he understands it, his parents were outliers in a species famously distrusting of outsiders. Whereas most Shistavanen kept to their homeworld and avoided extensive contact with outsiders the Tervik family made their living as brokers and moneychangers, exchanging the Republic credits carried by traders coming from Inner and Mid Rims for the Hutt-backed peggats and other local currencies of the Outer.

Other Shistavanen likely would have used the Terviks as a cautionary tale on the importance of suspicion. When Brask was only a few years old his family was targeted by a crew of small-time pirates, the simple freighter they had charted to make the jump to visit a Banking Clan representative immobilized and boarded. In the fierce firefight that followed the raiders were driven off but much of the crew had been killed, including the passengers.

Save for the youngest. With their paying customers dead and their ship nearly crippled the survivors had little interest in caring for the cub, sending transmissions requesting an adoptive family as they limped their way towards a space station. As luck would have it, the call was answered by a warrior: one of the infamous Mandalorians.

The Children of Mandalore were largely human, but not entirely. There was a longstanding tradition of orphaned children being taken in by the Mando'ade to be raised as one of their own, brought into a family connected by honor as opposed to genetics. Brask was brought into Clan Tervik under House Kryze, a family of traditionalists in an age where everything was coming into question.

With little memory of his first family, Brask was able to adjust to life as a Mandalorian, taking to the training and the tenets well. He learned to fight and studied the history of his people, finding comfort in tales of battles against outsiders. In some ways it was similar to the culture he had left behind on Uvena Prime, a fact that made pushing back the odd bout of homesickness simple.

Brask began to chafe under the changing ways of his people, finding their apparent reluctance to engage the enemy distasteful in the extreme. When the Clone Wars broke out and the Mandalore allowed itself to remain neutral under the guidance of the "New" Mandalorians he could react with nothing more than disgust. The chance to strike at their old enemies in the Republic and the Jedi Order had presented itself and the Children refused to take it, misguided by the coward reformists who turned their back on the old ways.

The foundling would not be rendered toothless by those who refused to wear the armor of their brothers and sisters. Brask was one of many who joined the reformed Death Watch, taking part in terror actions against the New Mandalorian government throughout the Clone Wars. As Death Watch fought its way across distant outposts and made friends in low places Brask found himself consumed by his need to present as removed from the peace-seeking ways of the Coward Regime, planting bombs and smuggling contraband because the New Mandalorians would not do such a thing. His pride bristled at first when Death Watch worked with the crime lords of the Shadow Collective but he quickly learned to squash his discomfort, playing nice with the lowlife bounty hunters and career criminals willing to help overthrow Mandalore's weak government.

But everyone has their limits, and Brask's came when outsiders managed to usurp Death Watch. When history repeated itself by cutting down another Vizsla and Death Watch split itself between the Dark Jedi and the sister of the now deposed Duchess Brask made his exit. While he respected Lieutenant Kryze and supported her actions (and perhaps a claim to the title of Mand'alor, if she so wished to take it) Brask drifted away, seeking an open war to fight.

He found one with the Grand Alliance, allying with his old enemies in the dying Confederacy and deposed Republic because it meant striking at the larger threat of the Empire. Mandalore was still in enemy hands and he'd damned if he didn't ensure it's restoration to the glory of the old days.

Skills and Weaknesses

+Shock Trooper: Every Child of Mandalore is a warrior but Brask is truly outstanding. His tenure in Death Watch left him a hardened veteran of many close-combat engagements, the natural strength and endurance of his species augmented by his armor so that he can close the gap and carve through the enemy with blaster bolts, crushgaunts and his own teeth if he must.

+Duelist: While victory on the battlefield is achieved by teamwork and coordination there is still a place in the galaxy for one on one combat. Brask has crossed blades with other Mandalorians, the staff-wielding MagnaGuards of the old Confederacy and even the odd Jedi Knight and came out on top over all of them. Claiming to be the best martial artist in the galaxy would be foolish but he is certainly a skilled soloist.

+Demolitionist: There is no honor in bashing your head against solid walls or wasting your ammo on reinforced bunkers. Brask is a trained demolitions expert capable of creating and using all manner of explosives from simple incendiary devices to military-grade breaching charges and beyond. With enough time he can rig pretty much any building to blow.

-Phantom Pain: The loss of his eye in an engagement during the Clone Wars still limits him to this day. While he's largely adjusted to the limits of his depth perception some tasks will be forever harder for him. More annoying than trouble gaging distance is the semi-constant state of pain he lives in. While it's usually a minor nuisance it can flare when he takes blows to the head, moves too quickly getting out of bed, or simply whenever it feels like it. Brask refuses to temper the pain with any sort of medication, suffering through the distraction out of pride.

-Known Criminal: He managed to get himself onto a list of wanted criminals during his time with the Shadow Collective. While the common man might not know the specifics of his affiliation with Death Watch or understand the intricacies of Mandalorian politics the fact remains that he was part of a brutal terrorist organization. Other Mandalorians have their own opinions about his actions and his allegiances, not all of them good.

-Bad Pilot: Brask is more than capable of flying and fighting with his jetpack, but actual starships are an entirely different beast. Hecan just about manage to get a ship into orbit without killing himself, with an emphasis on just. Every major operation he's had to travel for has seen someone else in the cockpit and he's not much for sightseeing, leaving him little time or inclination to learn. In any situation more complicated than a simple flight from point A to B he is useless in the chair at best.

Equipment

Mandalorian Armor: Beskar'gam is key to any Mando'ade's identity, a uniform that marks every Child of Mandalore as a sibling to all the others regardless of species. Mandalorian iron is layered atop ceramic plates and an armorweave flight suit provide protection without suffering a loss to mobility while the jetpack gives Brask an advantage against anyone who can't fly.
Vambraces: Assuming they don't hamper movement, no true Mandalorian would complain about having too many weapons. The forearm guards of Brask's armor come equipped with the standard array of Mandalorian tricks: wrist rockets, flamethrowers, whipcords, a variety of darts and a simple miniature blaster.
T-21 Repeating Blaster: A BlasTech classic originating from the Clone Wars and still used by the Empire. While it's a formidable weapon when loaded with standard power packs Brask prefers the increase in firepower that comes with a backpack-style generator. To facilitate this he forgoes the usual jetpack-based missile in favor of the additional hardpoint required for the weapon's power source.
SX-21 Scatterblaster: As suggested by its name the Scatterblaster sprays a short-ranged burst of blaster bolts as opposed to one intense beam It's less precise than a proper rifle but very useful when fighting in tight spaces or against multiple opponents. Brask's example is modified to be fired in semi-auto as well as being short enough to wield with one hand.
Crushgaunts: Brutal weapons outlawed by the Mandalorians themselves but brought back into service during the Clone Wars by the Deathwatch. They greatly increase Brask's already notable strength to the point that he can break bones and snap armor plates with a squeeze. They also serve the more mundane purpose of protecting his hands when handling hot barrels and corrosive materials.
DX-2 Disruptor Pistol: High-powered and highly illegal. Disruptors tear apart their targets at the molecular level, reducing body parts (or the entire body at close range) to ash. The downside is that they're notoriously power-hungry and generally overkill. Brask keeps his around because having it on hand and never using it is better than needing to use it and not having it on hand.
X-30 Blast Pistol: Underpowered and unsuited for open combat. Its main advantages are that it's lightweight, easy to break down for concealment and is better than nothing.
Demolition Gear: Brask makes use of common thermal detonators as well as proper breaching charges for blasting apart doors, walls, vehicles and people.
-Standard Kit: The sort of stuff carried by any commando-turned-rebel/criminal. Shoved into the various pockets of an old soldier's pack are a comlink, empty datadisks, a vibroblade, some spare cash (Imperial Credits and Outer Rim Peggats) and civilian clothing.
