Brief History: Bell Blackpowder began life as practically an orphan, abandoned at an orphanage on Montressor. By the time Bell was 12, they’d given up on finding a home with a family, and decided to set out for greener pastures by stowing away on a leaving ship. The downside? It was a pirate ship. After being discovered, the captain took a small mercy on the scrawny child, and put them to work as a powder monkey on the gun deck.
Unlike most children in their position, Bell managed to work their way up from the bottom of the ladder, graduating to gunner, and later Master Gunner. During a pitched battle with a rival crew, the captain and first mate of the ship were cut down by gunfire. In the chaos that ensued, Bell took charge, keeping a level head and calling the shots (literally), leading the crew to an unlikely victory. In the crew meeting that followed, the vote was unanimous: Bell, their lucky charm, was chosen as the new captain. And thus, the Red Flower Pirates were born.
Unfortunately, such a lofty position wouldn’t last long. Only two years after their promotion, the Calypso was caught in a terrible solar storm, one that seemed to tear the very fabric of the Etherium. Bell was thrown overboard, into the tear, never to be seen again…
…Until they arrived on the other side, finding themselves in a strange, neon-lit town. And to make matters more curious, their trusty rifle had changed, gaining an odd axe-head bayonet, looking almost like the bit of a skeleton key. But they could wonder about strange weapons and odd towns later; Bell’s current goal is to find a way off of this strange planet, and back to their loyal crew, by any means possible.
Other: Bell loves spicy food. The spicier the better; many of their personal recipes are labeled “hazardous for sapient and sentient consumption” by various health organizations because of this.
