Usually, I take a look at @Exit's C O N C E P T S   ᵇʸ ᴱˣᴵᵗ in the Test Forum if I want the most Vogue of RPG.

However, if you're feeling more arts & crafty, @Roach has two (1 and 2) threads in Article & Guides that gives some good pointers on how to develop your bbcoding.

I really appreciate the mention, but I will say that a lot of what's in there is messy, inefficient and chaotic. If you do end up going through it and have questions, feel free to ask! I'm always willing to help. Nothing in there is off limits or needs permission to borrow either. I don't own any of this code stuff. I just spend too much time playing with it.

@Roach is Professor BBcode. The two guides that are already link are an amazing source of information on some of the finer points on coding. Really gives you the tools needed to make your own stuff. And there are plenty more guides there as well if you're willing to dig for them.

I don't know everyone on the site nor am I plugged into certain circles. My memory is also terrible, but the following are people who's games I'd highly recommend checking out. They each have some very nice aesthetics in use and some of them I've even picked up techniques from in the past. I'll be naming them off the top of my head so I apologize in advance to anyone who is similarly creatively inclined and you're not mentioned. Just means I haven'tstalked you recentlymet you yet. Say hey if you want to!let me stalk you

@Mole @Prisk @nodogs @Rockette @fledermaus

If they have one, their test threads are usually a good source of ideas/inspiration too.

Some other threads you should check out:

@Punished GN's Oh God, What the Fuck am I Doing: The Thread.

A lot of the High School/College SoL RPs on this site use similarly structured character sheets with heavy focus on aesthetic. You could find them easily through some of the accounts above. Additionally, some of the GMs/CoGMs and players in those games are all focused on visuals.

And although not necessarily related to CSs, @Mae's [ COLD // DARK // DEEP ] or really any of their test threads have good use of coding with lots of neat mechanics sprinkled in.

There are of course many many others! These are just the ones I've seen and remember personally. Once you start looking around I'm sure you'll find some inspiration and often times, diving through writer profiles who play similar games will lead you to some nice gems.

I will say, some people don't like their designs being reproduced without permission, so you might want to check with them if you intend to use an exact copy.

Hey, I went ahead & looked through the formatting examples you linked & they look awesome! If I do decide to use an exact copy, I'll be sure to ask for permission; thank you so much for this response!

@Exit ohboyohboyohboy I've always looked up to your bbcode. I can't believe I got a mention ;_;

Also always happy for anyone to use my codes, although my style is a little more out of date now. It is 99% likely I saw someone else doing something cool and tried to replicate it.

I still like the CS format I first saw in TGM's 1968 RP. Linked below in a second.

Version One, there's an example and the Sheet Code

You're very welcome.

For my money that one is the perfect mix between detail and brevity.

You can change it up pretty quick to work for a Faction or Nation or add/remove characteristics. It's got a pretty clear place for an Image to get slotted in. Plus lots of folks do or have used it so you can see what folks have done with it at different times.

I've used it for like three or four of my favorite characters and probably will continue to for some time.
