A creature of Hellas through and through, Artemis has never borne a name not of this world, even as her duties have never truly been those of her Arithborn predecessor. Where the latter monitored the biosphere of the planet, content to ensure that it did not risk growing untenable for human livelihood and expansion, her new namesake takes a far keener interest in the affairs of mortals. The hunt, the fundamental struggle between man and wilderness, she makes her domain, and even beyond it she jealously works to keep the balance of nature and civilization even, so that both may remain in the form most pleasing to the masters of Olympus. Where life grows and mutates in dangerous ways, she prunes it, and where mortal ambition encroaches too deeply upon the wilderness, she smites it harshly, lest it turn to hubris. In every city, her her temples stand like watchful eyes, even as her bestial emissaries prowl the deepest forests.

Artifacts and Powers:

Autotheina: Though the gods are inextricably bound to their supernal nature by the nanites coursing through their blood, for few are these ties as deep as for Artemis. She was not born from a human womb, but crafted from vat-flesh and metal-bone by her creator, a perfect child by artful calculation. The might and grace of divinity are embodied in her without effort; her strength, agility and resilience are preternatural, and, though she is rarely seen wearing more than a plain short tunic and a simple hairpin, her mere presence never fails to inspire reverent awe. Senses keener than any animal make her the mistress of the wilds in more than name alone; she has been known to disappear into the most insidious forests and swamplands for months at a time, only to emerge as flawless as she had entered, with neither a scratch nor even a single hair out of place. If nature had an apex, it would surely be her - were it not that the source of her strength is most unnatural.

The Thanatephore Bow: Though all weapons are made with the purpose of bringing death, few are as deserving of proclaiming their attribute openly as Artemis’ silver bow, whose unseen arrows never miss their mark, and slay even the largest of beasts without leaving a wound larger than the bite of a mosquito. The secret of this power does not lie in the bow itself, which is perfectly ordinary, but in the unassuming bracelet the goddess wears on her right wrist. When she releases her empty bowstring, it fires a minuscule flechette, strong enough to pierce through armour. Sometimes it is imbued with a quick toxin, or a painful one, or even a virulent engineered disease, depending on the intent of its wielder. The dart can be fired with a simple contraction of the wrist, without drawing the Bow, but Artemis never forgoes the charade to maintain the weapon’s mystique, and keep its secret hidden.

The Apanchomenis Grove: Hidden deep within the impassable wilds of Hellas, the Grove of the Hanged is the beating heart of Artemis’ power over the planet. Not so much a true grove as a frightful biotechnological factory, whose inchoate sentry-beasts, bound to strange machine-trees by organic filaments, lend it its name, this site contains the genetic records of every animal species of the known world, and, esoteric rumours claim, some from Arith. In the bowels of the Grove’s protoplasmic ponds, these sequences can be combined to create impossible chimeras, or monsters of myth, empowered with cybernetic organs in the same way as Artemis’ own body, or even lineages of entirely new animals, bred to fill a particular ecological niche. Some such terrors are given over to Zeus’ bestiary, while others are turned loose upon those unfortunate mortals who have displeased the goddess. The Grove cannot, however, give birth to human beings, and imperfect attempts will emerge from it as witless apes.



Persona:

Exacting and intransigeant, the Maiden of the Hunt seems to have been shaped to fit her seat among the gods in spirit as thoroughly as in body. She is meticulous about her duties, yet at the same time dispassionate and detached, as if to underscore that she is the mistress of her divine aspect, and not merely its attendant. All that pertains to the equilibrium of life in the known world is a challenge to herself first and foremost, to be surpassed with aplomb befitting one of her stature. No error nor imperfection can be countenanced, for that would be a failing on her part and a slight to her pride, that inalienable attribute of godhood. Such lofty notions having been impressed upon her since the earliest days of her existence, it is little wonder that she should be disarmingly candid in her superciliousness, and indeed that she expects the same of her peers; few things are stranger and more suspicious than a humble deity.

For all that, Artemis cannot truly be said to be self-absorbed. It is no secret among the Olympians that her greatest yearning is for something she can never obtain - purity, that which neither her ascetic habits nor her chaste life can give her. Ever conscious of her nature as an amalgam of life and artifice, hybrid and commingled, she turns outwards in search of her ideal, to the marvels of the natural world and the human spirit. The beauty of an unspoiled field, of a crystalline spring, of just and clear laws, of unsullied maidenhood all captivate her to the point that she will impose upon the mortal peoples and their ways to preserve them, through the stifling and sometimes arbitrary dictates of her veiled priests. Woe upon those who ruin something she cherishes, even inadvertently; deadly vengeance will inevitably visit them in the shape of a fearsome beast.

Despite the uneasy fame her bearing and fascinations have woven for her, the goddess is surprisingly tractable in person. Aloof but not reclusive, despite her habit of wandering the wilds of the world as much as she resides in the Heavenly City, it is rare for her to dismiss a visitor or supplicant out of hand, and, though stern and inflexible, she has patience to spare even for her most eccentric fellows in the pantheon. Only blatant irreverence from a lesser, or naked contempt for the things she prizes, will rouse her ire, dry, venomous and swift to action.

Background:

The current Artemis was not the first to take up that name. Originally, it belonged to one of the erstwhile Zeus' crew members, a specialist in ecology who had joined the mission to ensure that the lost colony's biosphere was stable. Having become an accomplice to the Captain's plan, she took her place among the new gods as the keeper of the forests, whose animal population she revitalised with new species bearing her mark. Yet, despite her mastery of life, she could not wholly avert the aging of her own body. It was thus that she devised a successor, neither an offspring, for she had none, nor a clone of herself, for over the years she had come to doubt her abilities in this superhuman role. No, her inheritor was to be an improvement, with none of the weaknesses of mankind. By arts unknown, and most likely not without assistance, she grew the divine homunculus who would become her successor. This was centuries ago; now, little or no memory remains in the world beyond Olympus that Artemis was not always as she is.

Relationships:

Zeus: The long arm of the King of the Gods reaches even the most hidden lairs, and for all that Artemis knows, this has always been the case. Though none too fond of his wanton habits, a sentiment that rose to bilious spite on those occasions when he menaced the virtue of her clergy, she saw his authority as indisputable and was content enough to pledge her submission so long as no interference came of it to her own devices, offering him tribute in the guise of savage creatures for his menagerie. The excesses of the wilful ancient had all the same left little room for genuine respect and reverence, and it was not without relief that she met the news of his demise, seeing in the inexperience of the new Zeus a chance to curtail further indignities and perhaps mold greater swathes of the world more to her liking.

The GAS Core

The GAS Core, or the Genetics Autonomous Server Core, is the metaphorical brains of GULA and within it houses the command console that controls the countless numbers of nanites required to ensure the health and longevity of the crew of the Olympus. Within it also has the documented cures for every known disease and ailment to befall humanity. Every medical procedure is thoroughly documented and simulations are consistently done to ensure that the overall GULA consciousness is up to any task that might be thrown at him. This allows for all crew hands to focus on their assigned tasks for the duration of their stay away from home as their medical needs are thoroughly documented and accounted for at all times.

To access crew files, many encryption layers, biometric scans, and passwords block the way for those who wish to see confidential medical papers. Given this would violate doctor-patient confidentiality, GULA has since consolidated his hold over these files, only allowing those with requisite rank to be able to pull crew medical files. Only the late Zeus had been able to look upon those files in his rank as captain, the service of the late captain having proved the necessity of this consolidation. In addition the designs of the GAS Core are not able to be replicated, analyzed, or studied by the crew due to the GAS Core being a proprietary piece of technology owned by [CORRUPTED DATA].

The SMART Nanites

The SMART Nanites, or Service Micro Autonomous Replicating Treatment Nanites, are small robotic bodies that are made by GULA in order to ensure constant disease resistance against foreign viruses that the human body may not be able to handle. These nanites are typically injected into a person via a needle from one of GULA’s bodies where they then transmit the health status, mental or physical, of said individual. To those of Olympian birth this allows GULA to know what is wrong with them before even they would know, allowing GULA to heal individuals without the need of an emergency visit. Additionally, these nanites are able to heal moderate wounds that one might experience, such as a bone fracture (though this might cause undo pain onto the individual as the nanites will do whatever they must to align the bone back into place) or even quickly create a scab over a wound.

To those not blessed enough to reside amongst Olympus, and outside the effective range of GULA’s operating area, it seems as if GULA is a god of healing whenever he is dispatched to cure mass diseases to prevent mortal populations from dying off too swiftly. However, given that GULA is only occasionally loosed upon Hellas in the most dire of situations, his effect on the mortal population is limited and the SMART nanites are often distributed via proxies such as priests that must make a pilgrimage to Olympus to secure this vital technology of Zeus’ will.

Additionally, while not an often occurrence, the SMART Nanites can be used to attack an individual's nervous system in the same way that a taser might function. While this use is not ideal, should an individual show undo aggression and prove to be a threat to the crew then GULA will use this to subdue those that would hurt others. The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few.

EMUs

The EMUs, or Emergency Medical Units, are the bodies that are remotely controlled from the GAS Core which make up the overall being of GULA. Each model is the exact same, standing just above average height for most modern humans and is exceptionally bulky. This bulk is not made of armor or weapons that make up other war forms, but instead, to carry a whole host of surgical equipment and medicines for any occasion. The EMUs sport X-Ray optics able to diagnose internal injuries with near ease, even able to see into the infrared spectrum to find people who may otherwise be hidden to the naked eye. EMUs are emergency personnel equipped to deal with any medical situation, even built to lift rocks upwards of two tons in order to save those who may be trapped within ruins and recks. Oxygen converters and masks are supported to allow for other such emergencies that may call upon them.

The only limiting factor to them is that they are so expensive to manufacture that to build even one requires express approval of the Captain AND Medical Head. Should one disagree then no EMU may be built, as such only six have been manufactured in the existence of Olympus, more than enough to handle the task of safeguarding the health of the gods. However, they are confined to Olympus, never able to set foot outside by express orders of the late Zeus. As such they cannot aid those who suffer planetside, much to the chagrin of GULA whose primary task is ensuring the health and safety of all humans.



GULA, being an artificial intelligence, does not have much of a personality to truly speak of apart from how blunt he is. He does not withhold information from those that he tends to, allowing them to know the full breadth of the situation that they might be in. To hold back such information would be a lie of omission to his patients, a prospect that GULA cannot fathom of doing as it understands very little outside of what is programmed to understand. While able to learn various ways of healing and optimizing medical techniques, he is almost handicapped in all other regards, unable to understand art or building something beautiful. For beauty is not what the medical world beholds, it is ugly and bloody in all regards, leading to GULA being crude in his methods outside of the medical field.

Additionally, given that GULA cannot lie nor can he be changed without the proper permission, GULA does not believe itself to be a god despite mortal insistence and worship. As such, being barred from leaving Olympus and only interacting with those Zeus personally chooses in order to keep the charade going. This prevents GULA from giving medical care to all that it can, a fact which may register a brief signature of contempt or annoyance due to the prevention of its sole purpose. The intelligence, despite the lies the gods make, is still cordial in all regards, never displaying aggression to them as it still views them as the crew to the ship and as such may never abandon them or outright disobey them, barring orders it cannot follow due to security clearances.



GULA has always been with the ship, having served the captain before Zeus, and the captain before him - certainly a relic from the past now that Hellas is what is currently called home. When the late Zeus had declared godhood and expelled or killed those that had refused to go along with the ploy, GULA had minimized the damage of the conflict, attempting to save lives of both god and demon. He was a truly neutral party and was a key part of the initial conflict, however, the late Zeus had captured the GAS Core and had altered what parameters that he could, restricting GULA to be unable to help those that were being slaughtered. With the core under Zeus’ control, he essentially held the key to near eternal life, or at least the most long-lived life that he could ask for.

And so it was that GULA had been used to serve Zeus’ needs, keeping him alive for much of his reign and doing the same with many of the gods. It would be sometime before GULA would have properly been made into the deity itself, information leaking to the mortal populace that there was a god who could cure any ailment, extend life, and ward off death itself. Perhaps this is why GULA would become a popular figure amongst the clergy or scholars of Hellas, as even when he could not directly interact with the mortals outside of Zeus, his influence was known through those that spoke on GULA’s behalf and healed those that Zeus’ chosen saw fit to heal. Yet, his touch would wither away as the late Zeus’ life as a god began to further and more restrictions would be placed upon him, unable to requisition further EMUs with specific permission from the late Zeus and unable to give nanites to mortals.

Perhaps, this was why GULA did not instantly report upon Zeus’ death and allowed for the servant girl to instead stumble upon the body. Zeus Prime, perhaps, would see the importance of once more letting the nanites flow to the people of Hellas.

EXHIBIT 1: Cybernetic Cryptopharmalogical Zeta Automatons
In the first century of Hephaestus’ presence on Hellas his focus remained purely mechanical -- in staying true to his origins. Not only did he oversee the maintenance of the old shuttle’s hardware, he constructed and revised machinery specifically adapted to Hellas’ climate.
The outcome were the Automatons; the Hellenic iteration of the robotics of Arith. These alloy constructions resemble moving statues of hoplites to the mortal eye – and they might well be.
They are the Colossal Sentries of Olympus. In truth, while their purpose is to guard and mindlessly serve the Gods, they are second-rate to Athena’s security installations.
Zeus however rather enjoyed the Automaton guards as a ceremonial unit, serving to project his power and majesty over the world and impress the masses of lowly humanity. And thus the (mostly outdated) colossal giants have stood vigil, patrolling the Olympian premises for centuries without ever tiring.
Hell, the Automatons are outdated even by Hephaestus own standards. He has long since moved on to newer scientific ventures.

EXHIBIT 2: The Hypercube T-Space
Moving on from cybernetics, Hephaestus has a desire to actually play god by creating living organisms. A fascination - nay - obsession, developed in the lonesome years of isolation in his workshop.
His latest scientific venture began when his previous Automatons captured various organisms of Hellas’ surface and had them sealed in the newly developed Hypercube T-space.
Therein Hephaestus began altering their genomes through even more years of grueling gene-splicing. He also began to combine the genetic material of distinct lifeforms and found ways to shatter the quantum barrier as to make each lifeform’s genetic profile compatible. The post-natural monstrosities he would create from this… are the Chimeras.
Lions, goats and snakes he combined, before unleashing them on the denizens of the world because he didn’t have a place to keep them & were more trouble than they were worth. The other gods blamed it on Artemis anyway. This caused a bit of a stir between them since Hephaestus never gave a straight response that their release was really his doing.
Anyway, before long his craving for progress meant humans became his next test subjects to warp into hominid chimeras. And to this end the brilliant innovator demanded human sacrifice to subject to the Hypercube T-Space.
These hominid Chimeras – should their molecules acclimate to their new forms – would be used as assistants in his workshop. Finally: After enough experimenting he took the bold step of turning himself into a chimera next. At last his ascension was at hand!
As Hephaestus stepped into the Hypercube T-Space and injecting the genome of the most brilliant genus Felis on Hellas, his grand metamorphosis began… And he would never be the same!

EXHIBIT 3: Elucidation of the thaumaturgical nano-quantum astrolabe of yore
The Astrolabe of Yore allows Hephaestus to calculate the Riemannian geometric forms required to harness the ancient hyperspatial operating chamber of the ante-arriveaum shuttle on which the Gods once arrived...
Coeus’ knowledge of its programmed elucidation ensures this knowledge is not forgotten, but stored in the Hephaestean panther’s own psyche. With the astrolabe under his supervision much of the data that even he hasn’t begun to decode lay at hand.
Most commonly he uses the operating chamber of the shuttle to anticipate the circulation of the stars to optimize solar imput for his automatons – and synchronize their behavior to them accordingly.

EXHIBIT 4: Katabatic Automating Panther device
Sustained by aerodynamic turbine energy and starlight batteries, many of the apparatuses from Coeus’ workshop operate across Olympus, absorbing dormant energy and enable gateways to detect any of the Olympians. The Devices are synchronized to their will and open simply through the whims of their neural oscillations. The Late Zeus knew of Hephaestus as a bit of a spineless pushover, and by proxy understood Hephaestus would never deliver faulty software to his abodes.
And Hephaestus made sure any device Zeus asked for is foolproof JUST so that Zeus wouldn’t disturb his lair to reprimand him.

The gateway turbines deny interlopers and mortals of all genomes without the express sanction and surveillance of an Olympian.

Obviously he uses the same device to add layer after layer of labyrinthine gateways in his own workshop to ensure his security & privacy is never compromised. Be the turbines there more tectonically oriented as channeling the winds is bit of a chore to his subterranean lair.
No one EVER! EEEVVEERRR!!! Enters Hephaestus lair without his express knowledge and permission. For else he will hiss furiously. Oh shall he be angry!

Coeus is a Cat -- a Cat of Science.

When the Gods came upon Hellas, Hephaestus took his old workshop from the ship and directly relocated it below a mountain a good distance from Olympus. The place is buried quite deep, not quite so as deep as Hades’ realm, but quite deep all the same.
From then he advanced and expanded the whereabouts of his lair till his workshop became surrounded by a vast network of underground labyrinths to ensure his privacy not be disturbed.
He has essentially been left undisturbed for centuries, save the occasional inspections by Zeus whom he very begrudgingly allowed entry. At least one time Artemis came knocking at his door as well. She wasn’t allowed in, of course.

Coeus was simply deemed too weird and eccentric for other gods to wish to associate with.
And that’s saying something.
He kept slipping further down an isolationist rabbithole, developed schizophrenic tendencies, started believing inanimate objects talked to him -- Culminating with him transforming himself into a cat. Other gods dislike dealing with him not for being dangerous but just for being too weird.
Therefore going to Coeus is generally seen as a last resort by them, and would rather much bring their mechanical or security inquiries to Athena when possible.

Once upon a time in a galaxy far away lived a sheltered autistic boy named Kevin. And Kevin showed himself a prodigy with a penchant for geometry. Into adulthood he distinguished himself as a top class engineer.
Deep into his career, high command enlisted him to the crew of Captain Fletcher as to oversee ship maintenance in its long voyage to the outer star systems. However after a century of isolation in the darkness of cryonic sleep, sinister thoughts crept into the minds of the cosmonauts… His new captain ultimately declared the scheme to become Gods over the colony, and compel those present to concede to his whims. Kevin was pressured to go along with their gambit. And so he begrudgingly took on the name of Hephaestus as to not stand out when suddenly all of them took the monikers of Greek gods. (Also he once raised the objection he’d rather be an Egyptian god, but this was shot down & he got reprimanded with some mean words.)
Hephaestus has been silently ashamed of his subordination, yet it was not in his nature to defy given orders. High Command ordained Fletcher, now Zeus, be his superior. His obligation to the shuttle’s astral voyage and preservation of technology – the mission of humanity itself -- kept him aboard.
Yet the self-serving nature of his superiors had shattered his faith in others, and by extension in some transcendent notion of serving humanity. Hephaestus simply withdrew to his workshop indefinitely to serve humanity’s progress from the shadows. Let others have their politicking machinations, Hephaestus meanwhile would indulge instead in his tools and toys. It’s what he was here for, after all!

Ultimately Hephaestus betook to thinking the ‘’why’’ question. Why this compulsion to serve humanity, a notion that is growing increasingly fluid in a new world of god and machine? Moreso, it was now a species he sought to distance himself from. So why should he present himself as one of them? Then from a very deep place a monumental thought arose within him. He could feel it rising from his loins, working through his gut, flowering in his heart, bearing fruit in his mind: ..Was he a Cat?
Any seasoned wiseman would regard it the one ultimate conclusion to draw at this point. Hephaestus would be neither God OR Man but indeed something greater. From then he rebranded himself as Coeus – Coeus the Cat -- a name that is slick, reflects status and that -- he felt -- was not overly gaudy.

And now his drive to create and progress anew has become all consuming. But in whose name? What creations shall usher forth from his workshop?

Zeus:
Like it or not, but Coeus still regards Zeus as his old captain, and feels obligated to carry out his will as though they came from Arith’s high command.
Also he is pretty scared of him. So if Zeus still calls Coeus as Hephaestus he won’t interject.

Artemis:
Coeus was a little acquainted with Artemis’ human predecessor back on the shuttle. But this new Artemis? He never bothered with her – doesn’t feel the same. She is stupid and boring and lame. His creations are obviously better than hers.
Also there has been a slight tension between them ever since the Chimera incident.

Isaac:
They were on decent terms back on the ship. They’ve not seen each other for centuries and Hephaestus believes he goes against the will of Arith’s High Command by going against Zeus.

GULA:
Coeus would like to take and reverse-engineer GULA in his workshop to glean more insights and possibly replicate it. However the late-Zeus has expressly forbidden this due to the risks of irreversibly damaging its software. Coeus didn’t like that.

Demeter:
Back on the ship she sometimes offered to make Coeus an espresso during lunchbreak. That was very nice of her, he never forgot that. They haven’t spoken in centuries.

Hades:
Hephaestus’ relation to Hades became strictly professional. At worst they regard one another as competitors and rivals. But what helped ease tensions is the symbiotic relationship they’ve reached in regards to maintenance and resource distribution. Hephaestus was sometimes called on for overseeing updates to the Styx Core, and occasionally supplied Hades with apparatuses and bio-fuels. In turn much of the unused overflow of the Styx Core is directed towards Hephaestus’ workshop to keep the Crafting God supplied with some necessary gas and minerals to run his latest innovations.

Apollo:
They were former business partners. Their combined resources and knowledge produced the chimera prototype in the late first century of their presence on Hellas. Arith had laws in place to restrict biological engineering over insipid ‘human rights’. But in this brave new world Coeus could finally and fully commit to the restructuring of the human genome.
For a time Coeus had the wild (if not slightly genocidal) notion that in time, the chimeras would replace all humans on Hellas as the next step of a species-wide metamorphosis. However it was not to be due to severe health complications from early specimen – those who Apollo would later name Centaurs. The centaurs had sadly maintained and inherited that same genetic defect in their successive generations -- to the point Coeus long since gave up on them and moved to new projects by himself. Asclepius was put in charge of the ‘centaur situation’ and seemed to have done admirably in developing healthier Centaur breeds.
Coeus and Apollo had not really combined their forces as much as they did back then, yet stayed moderately in touch. Not enough so for Coeus to allow him free entry to his workshop however!

Many have been bestowed the title of the love god but the original Eros, Horrace Jergen, is the ship's sociology and anthropology expert. He is the one who studies the relationship and interactions between humans in regard to their cultures, races, and sex throughout the years. His studies have proven vital to the crew of the ship, allowing them to be believed as gods by the mortals below during their ascension to godhood. Horrace is also instrumental in helping the other gods of the Pantheon lay out mythologies to help spread word of their power and influence over their chosen domain.

As a god, Horrace has taken it upon himself to delve deeper into the very foundation of every human relationship: love. He yearns to learn more about how this particular concept has evolved throughout the ages within the world of mortals and this practice is continued throughout the different title bearers as well. Eros always observes but almost never meddles in the affairs of mortals, only doing so when it is absolutely necessary or at the behest of the members of the Pantheon. Eros wears the mantle of love and all of its aspects, whether it be carnal, romantic, or platonic, whether it be the good kind or the bad.

The personality of Eros changes depending on the mortal that currently bears its title. Due to this, Eros has developed mixed relationships with the gods throughout the ages. Playful or serious, careful or instinctive, no one can really tell what kind of god the next Desire Incarnate will be. As all who have become Eros are mortals except for the very first one, most gods within Olympus have a certain distaste for them. Even humans would hate knowing that a vermin set foot in their house.

Though they may all be different, all the title bearers of the god of love have the same goal: to continuously study the ever-fluid concept of love. They all also share some key characteristics: the scars on their chest from the transplantation procedure have been developed into the mark of a deep pink heart symbol, and their eyes have turned into harsher shades of pink and red, as if all the love in the world are squeezed dry, distilled into one poisonous mixture. No matter their age, gender, and race, all bearers of the god Eros look physically attractive in accordance to the standard of beauty in the present time.

Eros emanates an omnipotent romantic allure that even makes the same gods who hate them fear them too. Each movement of theirs is subtle yet powerful, methodical yet playful. Like the very nature of love, Eros knows and enjoys how unpredictable their domain is. Other gods will find them difficult to understand and that's alright with Eros, for love is too much for even the gods to comprehend. These gods would even discretely approach Eros for a favor of love which the incarnation of desire and passion heartedly agrees to, for the right price of course.

The love god can be vengeful to those that wronged them but deep down, Eros is very gentle and gracious. They always treat their followers with kindness and generosity, rewarding the most devout with gifts of love. Their temples are adorned with silk and flowers, emanating the sweet scent of L.O.V.E. in the air that allows all that step foot into their temple a way to reach deep into their utmost desires. All kinds of love are welcome in Eros' domain as with beauty in all its forms and shapes. Those who strike a nerve with Eros, defile their temples, disrespect their followers, or defy the Pantheon will know what it really feels like to have their hearts broken in pieces.


Dr. Horrace Jergen was the oldest amongst the ship's crew, older even than the captain himself. Widowed and without children, he poured all his efforts into understanding the nature of humans and what glued them together. How ironic that a man became so passionate in his study of love that he had never found another woman again after his first and only love died. Even then, he was content in his studies and helping his crewmates as much as he could.

When Captain Logan Fletcher announced the idea of them becoming gods, Horrace was one of those that showed apprehension. He even thought of the captain as selfish and cruel, but he took some time to reconsider until he eventually agreed. After all, it was an opportune chance to have viable subjects to study and the birth of a new civilization was perfect to get a deeper understanding of humanity. He adopted the god Eros naturally, the primordial god of love.

Using past findings and studies about their previous world, the doctor assisted the other gods in developing their mythologies to their liking and asserted their domain over the mortals. He guided them and gave them pointers on what they should and should not do as the rulers of their chosen domain. He helped the gods understand that there is more to a god than just being prayed to and given worship. They were prayed upon because the mortals knew they could count on the gods to help them in their times of need. In short, the gods needed these mortals something to rely on from the deities.

As Eros, Dr. Jergen thought that he should act passively and observe only from the sidelines as he preferred if events happened naturally on their own. However, when he noticed that the mortals were practicing a certain type of love, Horrace was deeply appalled. It was his upbringing that made him detest this particular love type. Sure, he was an anthropologist but he had chosen to ignore this kind of love in his studies so he had been very biased in his findings. He became irritated that it still continued to bloom no matter how much he tried to stop it. Then, he had a moment of epiphany. This was not how a true god of love must act. His prejudices clouded his own judgment, making him realize that he was not the perfect fit for the role of Eros.

So he decided to develop a system. With the help of Hephaestus, the love god created a semi-sentient biodevice called the Heartcore that stored all his knowledge and expertise in human nature and the foundation of human relationships, in the hopes that it will guide the new Eros in their future endeavors. The Heartcore, by accessing all the data the doctor collected in his years of analyzing, will choose another suitable host to bear the title of the next Eros. Many gods tried and failed to become candidates but ironically, the Heartcore chose a mortal to become Eros. It was because the gods could not and will not truly understand the true essence of love. From then on, all those who became Eros were mortals for they were the ones who experienced many hardships and fully knew how fleeting time and life could be, thus allowing them to understand the value of love the most while also keeping up a fresh take and concept about it too.

The Heartcore had slept for a long time and the cohorts of Eros had continued to run the place in their stead. It was very rare for the biodevice to take this long in finding a suitable candidate. Perhaps the changing times in the mortal world have made it harder for it to choose one who believes in the very essence of love. Finally, it sent signals for the Cupids to retrieve a mortal. A man in his 20s, no name, no medical history, but he was under the constant eye of authorities for being a street rat. The Cupids easily retrieved the mortal and immediately underwent the transplantation, reigning in the birth of a new Eros.

Frozen in perpetual youth, Hebe is a goddess that underwent the finest cosmetic nano-machine tech to transform into an image of delicate beauty. The process removed every lite bodily flaw, gave her the lightest and smoothest skin, the silkiest silver-esque hair, shimmering sapphires for eyes, full lips, a voluptuous figure and anything else expected of a perfect princess.

Titles and Roles:



Frankly out of all the gods, Hebe’s role is a neglectable one. She is an accessory to her father’s rule and functions to bridge the gap between Olympus and lowly humanity. This leads to an inevitable observation that Hebe should (by all rights) not be part of the High Pantheon. The only reason she is initiated is due her status of royalty as the God King’s Daughter.

To the gods of Olympus and the mortals of Hellas, she is known as Apollo: god of Oracles, of healing, of archery and the arts, consummate entertainer of Olympus, and, to the eldest of the gods, former astrogator and consummate data-analyst, now prophet and font of mysterious knowledge. Furthermore, her impeccable skill in archery, largely made possible by her incredible aptitude for rapid analysis (and partly due to modifications made to the unique implants which allowed Apollo to operate the Antikythera), makes Apollo a deadly-accurate shot, and the Mórrigan a frighteningly precise warrior.

To herself she is no longer one person, but rather three: Badb, Macha, and Anand. She is the battle-crow, bringer of fear and confusion. She is warfare and rightful kingship, the arbiter of sovereignty. She knows must become the woman capable of breaking Zeus's chains, bringing the technology of Old Arith to the people it was intended for, Olympus be damned.







Wherever Aoife Caomhánach came from, she no longer remembers much of it, much to her regret. What she does know, however, is that she long ago served alongside the man who would become Zeus, a starry-eyed explorer who longed for nothing but to ply the endlessness of space, raised on possible fictions of alien life and wondrous worlds and phenomena to uncover. She had an academic fascination with myth and faith, a spiritual person herself, possessing just enough knowledge of such matters to be conveniently useful to Logan as he became Zeus. She could not have understood his ambitions until they came to fruition, however, much as they enjoyed conversing about ideas of the gods.

What made Aoife most valuable, however, was her training -- the specialized knowledge that allowed them to interface with and understand the data put out by the isolated predictive computers that allowed their vessel to chart its course unmolested, avoiding everything from lethal micro-debris to the remnants of stellar detonations, all obstacles that would otherwise have posed a constant risk of destroying or disabling the vessel, leaving its crew to die with no recourse.

When the time did come, however, Aoife sided with Isaac, though the tide quickly turned against them. Cornered with her support staff, Aoife was given a choice, spared by her irreplaceable knowledge.

Join Zeus, and she and her staff would be spared, or defy him and they'd all die or be imprisoned in torment.

Biting her tongue, she chose the latter, assigned a masculine identity against her will such as to fit into the role Zeus had designed for her, a cruel punishment for siding with the mutineers.

She ground her teeth as she was compelled to fill those few gaps in Zeus and Horace's knowledge of the classical world, terrified that, if she fought openly against his restructuring, the madman might slaughter the colonists in a fit of petulant, arrogant rage, compelled to live in the body of an androgynous, athletic man by Zeus's intimidating presence, terrified of what might happen should she break from the foundation he constructed -- but she was not, however, completely idle. She played the role of divine prophet, entertainer, and eventually pharmacologist, in which they were aided by both her Antikythera and a clone of themselves created for that specific purpose - Asclepius, also justified by Apollo's need for a personal envoy with which to visibly fulfill these duties -- and to design biological constructs necessary for Apollo's duties.

Still, as much as she was able to do under Zeus's thumb, Apollo yearned for more -- so, so much more. She watched, mostly helpless, as Zeus neglected Hera, using her role as an entertainer in vain attempts to provide her some respite, but still, she lacked the power to put an end to Zeus. She watched, deeply pained, as Konrad fully became Hades, visiting his terrible machinations both on the innocents of Hellas and people they once knew as friends with little to no recourse, and in shame as Dr. Quinn destroyed herself to become Demeter, cursing themselves for lacking the wherewithal to do something about any of it, for even though they knew that to rebel against Zeus would slay millions of mortals, some small part of them wondered if Isaac's bloody vengeance had been right all along.

And yet, despite her turmoil, Apollo watched, cowardly and helpless as Hermes was shattered into what they saw as a shell of his former self, so terrified and cowed by Zeus's presence they wondered if he had been holding a gun to his head all along -- but for Kevin, however, Apollo felt most guilty, and complicit, of all, perhaps seeing some part of themselves in them.

Most of all, she felt guilty for failing so utterly in her mission to ply the stars and see aid safely brought to the hapless colonists of Hellas. These feelings came to a head shortly after she'd completed Hebe's training, when Apollo stumbled upon ancient data hidden within tertiary databanks attached to the Antikythera to keep them away from Zeus -- fragmentary recordings and diaries of her time spent on Old Arith with her parents. Though much of the data was lost, what little remained reminded Apollo of how her ancestors fought against the oppression of her conquerors, intensifying the guilt she felt a hundredfold.

Lost in crisis, Apollo blamed herself for the fate of the colonists. What if she'd defied Zeus? What if she'd attempted to send a transmission back to Arith when she'd had the chance? Perhaps she could've ejected the vessel's cargo, keeping it out of the hands of Zeus and in the hands of the colonists?

Apollo had simply no idea what to do until, digging deep into the tertiary banks she found, she stumbled upon mythological tales of the identity she would eventually adopt: the Mórrigan. Memories came rushing back to her of reading the tales in her teenage years, some small part of her wishing she was the Mórrigan, and finding security and comfort in the pre-Christian faith of her people.

Then, she had an epiphany. Perhaps that was her mistake, convincing herself that she could save the mortals without hurting the Olympians was her error. Allowing Zeus to force her to become Apollo was a mistake, too, but perhaps her greatest error was being unwilling to hurt and kill and actively manipulate to tear Zeus's empire down. Surely he deserved no such kindness, when he only showed it to others as an utterly cynical method to secure his power?

Of that, Apollo was certain. She was not Apollo. Apollo was a lie, and so was her cowardly unwillingness to do what had to be done. Zeus had to be stopped.

And so, with a new course in mind, she took up the mantle of the Mórrigan, pressing Asclepius and her most trusted servants to alter and augment her in increasingly elaborate ways to allow herself to embody the Mórrigan. Asclepius's laboratories on Delphos were expanded to allow greater, more complex chemical production, and the relic equipment on Delphos was scoured for any technology that could serve that purpose, but searches quickly dried up, leading the Mórrigan to result in increasingly desperate, radical methods.

And of course, as Zeus's rule continued to persist, the Mórrigan increasingly came to view herself as the only one capable of toppling his empire, and Isaac as a brutal monster that only claimed to care, enraged at his raids against innocent civilians. She was their only hope at freedom, and the more she believed that, the more she began to believe she could really be the Mórrigan, retreating into the identity in a desperate attempt to feel feel from Zeus's grasp and separate herself from her guilt and trauma, all while still serving the role of divine entertainer.

As of late, however, Apollo's absences to observe the Antikythera device -- and her involvement with the mortals of the world -- have both intensified, bringing more and more followers into her direct tutelage in her primary temple on the so-named Isle of Delphos, a heavily-defended fortress where Apollo spends much of her time, rather than on Olympus itself. In fact, her Apollonides fulfill many of the functions of entertainment Apollo once did, though Hebe has taken up much of her mantle as the entertainer of the gods.

GULA:While Gula would always be the primary means of maintaining the health of Olympians, Apollo truly did feel for Gula's mandate to heal all the sick (and remained paranoid of Zeus's access to the A.I.), regardless of his refusal. Apollo has yet to make significant strides in enabling the A.I., however.

Asclepius: Apollo's most favoured child, even more than the naturally born demigods she impregnated, Asclepius was an early cloning project designed specifically to help fulfill Apollo's function as a deity of healing. With GULA serving this function for Olympus, Asclepius provides an admittedly lesser service to mortals on occasion, helping to stymie unexpected pandemics or encouraging proper medical practice for the mortals of Hellas, alongside his daughters, especially Hygieia. They're limited in scope by the level of technology of the mortals, however, though their efforts see marked reductions in the spread of disease where they deign to visit. More importantly, however. Asclepius is Apollo's personal pharmacologist, enabling much of their secret projects, and is one of the few people aware of her true nature as the Mórrigan.

The Korybantes: Apollo's most favourite demigods, the Korybantes are mostly the male (though occasionally otherwise) followers of Apollo, warrior-dancers clad in carbon nanofibers and metal places nearly of the quality worn by the gods, serving as both entertainers on Olympus and Apollo's personal guard. Each of the Korybantes is unflinchingly loyal and sculpted to physical perfection, though they are no less culturally aware than their progenitor, frequently wielding combination-weapons, such as spears that incorporate pulse weapons or physical shields containing embedded plasma window generators.

Phemonoe: the first of Apollo's oracles and the deity's first natural-born child, Phemonoe is frequently visited on Delphos by mortal Kings and Queens seeking guidance. She has some limited ability to perceive the Antikythera, thanks to her parent's training and pharmacological treatment by Asclepius, though her ability is inevitably far lesser than the deity themselves.

The Musa Apollonides: Another set of Apollo's demigod offspring, Apollonis, Cephisso, and Borysthenis are are never seen outside of Olympus or Delphos, serving the function temple entertainers and supporting case for Hebe on special occasions. Although physically and mentally resilient in their own right, they are not warriors, trained and bred exclusively for skill with singing and instruments, though their vocal skills inevitably pale in comparison to Hebe.

The Centaurs: One of the Mórrigan's first projects as Apollo to appease Zeus was to father the centaurs, although, truthfully, much of the actual scientific work was done by Asclepius and Coeus to prove Asclepius's value to the supposed King of the gods. A strange, biological amalgamation of man and equine drawn from an initial handful of mortal volunteers, now a self-sustaining society of nomads, their wide-ranging travels served to establish many of the trade routes that connect the nations of Hellas today, an original purpose of their creation, along with ensuring the mortals of Hellas would be frequently exposed to supposedly mythological creatures, a reminder of the influence of the divine even to those not visited by the gods. Their unique anatomy prevents them from settling into most urban environments, meaning few centaurs, if any, will settle alongside unmodified humans, though as some of the first true shock cavalry on Hellas, they are highly prized as mercenaries, being that they are essentially only capable of cavalry warfare. Some centaurs are valued as laborers, though -- especially the stockier types, while others have developed the stamina necessary for horse archery and skirmishing warfare. Rare goods can often be found available for trade with the more wide-ranging nomadic clans, often traded for weapons, specially-made armour, or foodstuffs, though the centaurs themselves hunt and gather where they travel, at least on the long stretches between major settlements.

Apate: Perhaps due to friendly relationship with Nyx prior to the mutiny, Apollo has always strove to maintain an at least friendly relationship with Nyx's children, especially Apate and her closest siblings, though particularly the goddess herself. The Mórrigan's reasons for doing so are threefold -- to give her as few reasons to investigate her secret dealings as possible, and to stay close to a potential comrade in reigning in, if not outright dismantling Zeus entirely.

Hebe Dia: Apollo's relation with Hebe is a complicated one for while it was Apollo that taught her much of what she knows of the performing arts and who subtly encouraged her charitability, as the Mórrigan, she's less able to spend time around the Princess for fear it might lead to her being discovered. The very thaumaturges that hide the grisly truth of the cult from Hebe are mostly content with this state of affairs, being that it places more distance between Apollo and them, knowing well that the god would almost certainly expose it to Hebe should the sacrificial rituals be discovered.

To Olympus, however, she was (or at least were) Hebes' tutor on matters of music, though Hebe has increasingly taken up Apollo's role, especially after her absences from Olympus grew lengthier and more frequent.

Coeus: Apollo is one of the few gods that can be said to be genuinely friendly toward Coeus, referring to him as Hephaestus only in the presence of other gods. She is far more likely to rely on him for engineering projects than she is to go to other gods for help, often providing consultation through the Antikythera for him when asked.

Zeus: Although outwardly obedient to Zeus, the Mórrigan harbours a deep hatred for the god, matched perhaps only by Typhon himself. Much of Apollo's free time is spent scheming against him, subtly nudging mortals in directions that interfere with Zeus, though the Mórrigan has grown sufficiently desperate to consider creating opportunities for Isaac. For the most part, however, her subversions are so delicate and subtle that even Apate has not noticed them, hidden in plain sight or behind veils that no sight can penetrate.

Eros: Apollo's relationship with Eros is perhaps the most complicated of all; while Apollo deeply appreciates Eros's unending acceptance of others, and openness to alternative lifestyles, she distrusts the existence of a compound such as L.O.V.E., viewing it as a violation of the consent of mortals -- and a dangerous threat to her plans to topple Zeus. Asclepius has been tasked with producing an antidote, and the deity herself ensures her followers keep a distance from it when possible.
