House Lannister of Lannisport

House Lannister of Lannisport has emerged from a recent storm of wealth and mystery and murder. Lord Jasen Lannister led the House to new investments and new trade opportunities after nearly a decade in Essos before his father died, working tirelessly to establish Lannisport, and to some extent even the Sunset Sea, as even more of a destination for trade. He was largely successful, in everything except for his timing: his father died days before he returned home.

Lord Jasen honored the arranged marriage match his father had favored, despite the belief Lord Jasen could have done better. Lady Kyra of House Kyndall came from an ancient house, with good lands in the southern stretches of the Westerlands. Typically, closer to Lords from the Reach in terms of focus (growing and harvest), Lady Kyra spent much of her time growing up in the Reach and in Oldtown.

The wisdom of the match proved apparent over the years; Lady Kyra had all the knowledge and connect of the Westerlands and the Reach that Lord Jasen lacked given his extensive time abroad in Essos. Better more she was a good wife, and a loyal friend, and theirs became the lucky political arrangement that, given time, became real love. Their first child, Lady Celena, was welcomed soon after.

Their lives were largely happy things. Lord Jasen had made waves by openly discussing some changes to Lannisport; changing some of the port and treasury rules so their officials served for less time and could only serve so many years. Increased punishments for market manipulations, including kickbacks. It was just the start, and less than a fortnight later, the Lannisport City Watch were brought to a scene on the Golden Lion Street just as the sun arose over the city on morning: the carriage of Lord Jasen. The two were found stabbed, combined, nearly a hundred times.

Though their daughter, Lady Celena, was reported by house staff as having been with her parents at the time the young child was never seen again. She was either murdered, as well, or sold into slavery somewhere down the line, most suspect. It’s the best those in Lannisport and the Westerlands will have to do; the mystery behind the murder has never been solved, despite the City Watch executing “guilty men” they rounded up from one of the few not-so-great corners of the city.

Lady Jolene Lannister, a widow in her early 40s, a cousin and Lord Jasen’s closest blood relation, became head of the House in the aftermath. Lady Jolene, or Lady Jo as she’s more commonly known, is affable, sharp-minded, and sharp-tongued, well-liked by most stakeholders in Lannisport and other Western nobility. She has two children, the eldest Lord Symon, a scholarly young man with a touch of warrior in him, and Lady Lorelei.

Although Lady Jo and Lord Symon had little issue moving into the immense castle/manse seat of the family in Lannisport, Lady Lorelei found herself needing to change rooms. She couldn’t sleep in the room that was shortly before Lady Celena’s without thinking without stop about what horrible fate became Lady Celena. Lady Lorelei would change rooms and settle in, in time becoming a major force in the courting circuit for nobility in the Westerlands. Lord Symon would marry Lady Alysanne of House Tarbeck, do respectably in local tourneys, and settle down with his new wife in Lannisport.

The Brave Companions

A Brief Description and Recent History:

Nycarro Qosaerys, famed sellsword and adventurer, veteran of a half dozen sieges, survivor of a half hundred field battles, and occasional pirate, now found himself to also be the most recently deposed captain-general of the Maiden's Men during the sack of Tolhorys.

Tyrosh and Myr's most recent conflict in the Disputed Lands led to the siege of the Tyroshi-held town, and Captain-General Qosaerys's brothers in arms, sellswords of honor matched only by their courage, resolved themselves against dying in defense of the town by whatever means necessary. As such, they made to unceremoniously dispose of their fearless leader by murder and open the gates to the enemy in exchange for their lives. They were successful in the second part of that plan, but Qosaerys proved a wily victim of attempted murder, and evaded not only poison and dagger but the Myrish-employed sellswords who were, in short order, on the definitively wrong side of the town's walls (from the perspective of a local resident, anyway).

Evading capture and/or death with admirable aplomb, Nycarro Qosaerys reached Pentos with the assistance of no companion save for a goat he affectionately named Racallio. There, he secured for himself a paper of engagement, signed by the Prince of Pentos himself, authorizing the recruitment of sellswords and -sails for a new mercenary company. This collection of brave companions, flying under a newly commissioned banner bearing the likeness of the aforementioned goat, would engage in honorable mercenary work across the Free Cities and the Narrow Sea, and mayhaps some revenge against that traitorous bitch Lysandra Dagareon, the usurping Captain-General of the Maiden's Men.

Key Members:

Nycarro Qosaerys, famed sellsword and Captain-General of the Brave Companions.
Racallio, Nycarro's goat.

House Templeton of Ninestars

Knightly House Sworn to Arryn

House Description:

Whilst hardly the Vale’s most impressive stronghold, Ninestars’ fringe position helps to facilitate it as an administrative hub for the various farming communities in the fertile peninsula. There are comfortably upwards of 1'500 men that owe fealty to the Knight of Ninestars and it is this that has enabled each Ser Templeton to command the respect of the Lordly counterparts such as Corbray, Royce and Hunter.
The centrepoint of the castle is the Sept, or ‘temple’, after which the House is named.

Their house seat is Ninestars is the name of the castle that forms the seat of House Templeton. Sitting NorthEast on the Southern Edge of the Fingers, Ninestars Castle is fashioned from white-grey stone and consists of fairly short, squat battlements framed by two square towers. It lurches up from long yellow grasses with its back to the tides, ducking out of the salty winds gusting off the narrow sea.

Of huge strategic importance, Ninestars has proven invaluable in forming a defensive fortress guarding the Fingers, whilst looking out across the Narrow Sea to its rear.

History:

Templeton’s history dates back as far as the Andals who are credited with the building of the Temple which became a significant way castle for those accessing the Vale by sea. Whilst not boasting ought so grandiose as a harbour or port; over generations Ninestars grew around it and the Templeton House was given Knightly status and dominion over the castle by House Arryn many centuries ago.

Essentially the first ‘Templetons’ were required to maintain the temple and keep residence of the villages clustered in the vicinity. It is rumoured that this task was oft doled out to ‘bastards’ of the Arryn House; if true, it would provide a blood-tie to the Noble House for Templeton. Certainly their allegiance to Arryn has never wavered.

As the fortifications grew, Temple-town (from whence the name derives) was the colloquial moniker given to the amalgamated villages who eventually moved to within or beside the castle grounds. The hugely popular Templeton market and annual Fair drew more and more settlers to the vicinity. In acknowledgement of the time-honoured diligence and capable management of the temple and surrounding township, ‘House Templeton’ was formerly recognised by Lord Arryn, that same evening a meteor shower purportedly featuring ‘nine falling stars’ shone across the darkening sky- giving the castle its name, and House Templeton its sigil; the yellow of the stars representing the long grasses of the vale and the black field representing the night sky.

11 posts in three days! Great job people. Off to a good start.

PSA: Let's try to include a TL;DR hider section from now on (like I did in the opening post). It'll facilitate keeping track of things. Include any and all information you might think important for other players to know or read at a glance.

Night's Watch

Night gathers, and now my watch begins. It shall not end until my death. I shall take no wife, hold no lands, father no children. I shall wear no crowns and win no glory. I shall live and die at my post. I am the sword in the darkness. I am the watcher on the walls. I am the fire that burns against the cold, the light that brings the dawn, the horn that wakes the sleepers, the shield that guards the realms of men. I pledge my life and honor to the Night's Watch, for this night and all the nights to come.

Order Description:
The Night's Watch have fallen from their once loft ambitions, once tens of thousands men stood upon the walls and stared out into the North waiting for the enemy to come. Many have forgotten the purpose and reason as to why the Night's Watch must stand but the magic in the wall, strange bundles of Dragonglass daggers found in their castles, and more tell another story. One the current Lord Commander intends to uncover to understand the history and work behind his seat.

Currently the Night's Watch stands at around three thousand five hundred men ready to fight and die to hold the wall against the Wildlings from beyond it. They know of other threats many do not believe in yet those who go beyond on the wall who listen to the Wildlings speak and the stories from the far north know. Ice Dragons, Giants, Ice Spiders, and perhaps even the Others are real... Yet for now the Wildlings are gathering, reports from Rangers say that the clans are fighting harder and allying together. For what reason who can say yet... They all know the world is a dangerous place and the one beyond the wall is like the one from the age of Heroes, men of the world not the dangers they are protected from.

Recent History:
The Night's Watch has recovered some strength since the Dance of the dragons and peace more law and order have as well as removal of schemers and traitors has helped to fill the ranks out. The North who has prospered over the last fifty years has had many sons and volunteers come forth to join the Crows. Though their glory days are long behind with this surge the Lord Commander has begun a new mission, learning more about what is beyond the wall and mapping it so future generations might know more.

The Rangers have greatly increased their numbers and more importantly the builders have used the extra man power to fortify Castle Black and the other fortresses with the intent to use the time well. They have expanded the navy of galleys as well, the Night's Watch wants to use it's limited time to prepare even scouring libraries and looking their old castles, they seek to know about the ancient brothers who came before. Of course their is even rumors of a ranging coming to look into a tale the wildlings have told for centuries of a horn that might bring down the wall.

The Brothers:

Lord Commander Willwyn Forrester

First Steward Gillan Flint

First Builder Harlwyle Ryswell
