"But I can't turn meself into a deer though. I ain't a druid."Jub gave a small snort.
"Now there's mental image," he muttered as he tried to imagine Brutrumukk ever transforming into something as skittish and dainty as a deer. Maybe a moose or an elk, or some kind of woolly buffalo.
He turned back to Gabriel.
"Anyhow, I wasn't trying to diminish your loss, my friend," he said.
"Merely questioning how our mystical thief chose what they stole. The Misters seemed to imply that it was retribution for us not paying, but if so, why are the things they took so different? Did it simply take the most important thing we had on our person at the time?" He gestured to the half-elf.
"That doesn't seem right, because as sentimentally important these dice are to you, it couldn't have been the most important thing. Especially considering this magic can steal non-physical things. It could have taken..." The goblin thought for a moment as he tried to consider what else Gabriel might hold dear that could have been taken from him.
"Your ability to fence or sing or..." He made a wild hand gesture as he tried to think of something, before suddenly realising he really didn't know much about what Gabriel did or didn't hold dear, so he simply.
"Something! I don't know! I'm just trying to make sense of all this!"It was at this point they were approached by two strangers, a halfling and a satyr, who Brutrumukk almost immediately voiced his mistrust of. Given how strange the inhabitants of this land had proved so far, Jub was inclined to agree. He listened as the halfling attempted to explain himself, narrowing his eyes and glancing at the expressions of each of his own companions to see what they thought. Once the halfling was quiet, Jub spoke up.
"To be honest, I'm a lot less suspicious of you than I am of your cloven-hooved companion there," he said, nodding towards Feras.
"Because he's a fey. Satyr's are fey. And we're in the Feywild, which is where fey are from so if anyone's a spy here, it's mostly likely him." He paused, before quickly looking back at the halfling.
"Oh yeah, not sure if you're aware of that but you're in the Feywild. I probably should have revealed that a little more delicately, now that I think of it..."
