@Tortoise well I like the idea that kobolds aren't doglike, more similar in appearance to horned geckos like they are in Pathfinder. They serve dragons, but I like the idea that the dragons of the world are actually gigantic wingless wyrms that live within the earth. Kobold are slaves and cannon fodder, or worse a dragons meal. Many seek to escape to the surface world to start new lives.

The unexpected explosion of interest, hahaha! I think we're also all fixing stuff here and there to make our characters more plausible (for those who weren't accepted yet).

I'm also going to start planning a kingdom for us to go.

A Mage-Knight seeking adventure yet trying to flee past trauma, an Ex-Street Urchin with goals to become a Merchant Prince, an exiled Prince (the royalty kind) who wants to take back his dead father's throne, or a political reformer who wants more power to the cities and merchants in order to upend the feudal system?

In a previous RP I ran, I put a soft limit on anime stuff, so that the game wouldn't start to feel too much like an anime RP. I still have that sentiment, but I don't mind one or two characters with anime-adjacent pics.

Also, what would be more appealing to you? A Mage-Knight seeking adventure yet trying to flee past trauma, an Ex-Street Urchin with goals to become a Merchant Prince, an exiled Prince (the royalty kind) who wants to take back his dead father's throne, or a political reformer who wants more power to the cities and merchants in order to upend the feudal system?

I mean, you just listed four really good ideas. They all appeal to me; but if I had to pick one, I like the ex-urchin or the mage-knight the most.

Your Mage-Knight works well because a lot of people probably do join the Caravan to escape past trauma. And, honestly? I have a soft spot for both knights and for magic-warrior fusions. This one legitimately feels like a character I would want to play.

But the Urchin would bring an interesting new element to this RP, in that they want to become a Merchant Prince. I mentioned in the first post that the Caravan engages in a lot of trading, so having an ambitious merchant character feels like a good fit. Every city we go to, I can imagine them trying to establish connections and scoping out the markets.

Either of them, I'd say, could work really well here.

My bad, I'm one of the anime faceclaims. I wasn't able to find something that could actually fit the image of Ark so I had to use one, I'm sorry.

It can matter to some people, especially because, at least from personal experience, I've found characters using anime profiles often lack a certain... realism. I'm guessing this RP will be a bit more grounded than, for example, Naruto. It's not going to be much like an archetypical anime, so having anime-styled characters could be distracting at best.

There's nothing inherently wrong with anime character images, but sometimes tonally, they just don't match, like in here.

You know, your CS challenged me a bit. The whole 'cog for a head' initially made me feel like he's too steampunk for this medieval fantasy RP. But I do see that he is given life by magic, not science or technology, and it is a mage that brings him back as well. So, I think we can accept it under the grounds that he's essentially a machine man that is animated by mystic stuffs, and not a true robot.

I would ask, though, that we could remove the suit and bowler hat combo- again, it just feels too steampunk-y, and thus a little out-of-place in this genre.
