Hey there Extraordinaire!

I just wanted to drop you a quick note about the love ring story idea. You're onto something big with this one! I mean, who wouldn't want to know the secret behind why Max was chosen to wear the love ring and wield its magical powers?

I also wanted to take a moment to express my concern about the superpowers granted to Max by the love ring. While it's certainly exciting to imagine a character with immense power, it can also make the story less believable and detract from the overall narrative.

My suggestion is to add a little spice to the mix by exploring Max's past and quirky personality traits that may have made him the perfect fit for the ring. Let's face it, Max might have had a hidden talent for cheesy pickup lines or a secret love for romance novels. The possibilities are endless!

And let's not forget about Max's journey with the ring. I'm thinking it could be a wild ride full of unexpected twists and turns as he discovers the true meaning of love and the power it holds.

To conclude, I would like to emphasize that while adding some extra flavor and excitement to the tale is important, it's also important to not make Max's powers too powerful. A little bit of my suggestions can still go a long way in making the story more compelling. I have faith in your storytelling abilities and I'm eager to see how you bring the love ring and Max's journey to life with a more balanced approach to his powers.

@KaliWOk. Would it be possible to remove the attraction factor? Just leave a sense of 'do not hurt' in the subconscious of the victim?

I understand if the attraction aspect of Kairo's powers may cause discomfort, however, I would like to keep them as part of his character. As his powers stem from a contract with a demon, it's not surprising that some aspects may not be desirable. Just like Allison from The Umbrella Academy (who used her powers to get fame, manipulate her husband and even her daughter), Kairo's power has the potential to bring about positive and negative experiences, as the characters are flawed. To address any concerns, I promise not to use this power against your character if it makes you feel more comfortable. Nonetheless, I don't want to eliminate this aspect from his abilities.

Mmm. I get that, but there seems to be no negative experience for the character himself. I could see something where, if he has to use that power, the victims are immediately disgusted by Kairo once the magic lets off.

But, do as you please.

The presence of negative consequences in a character's powers can add depth and complexity to their story. For example, in the case of Allison, her decision to use her powers against her daughter resulted in the alienation and disgust from her husband. This adds an additional layer of conflict and intrigue to her character, making her more interesting and dynamic. While negative consequences may seem counterintuitive, they can actually enhance the overall storytelling experience and make the character's journey more captivating.

Hello guys, I've noticed that we haven't really delved into our characters' experiences after joining the Teen Titans. I took the time to reflect on my own character, Kairo, and I think it would be beneficial for us all to explore this aspect in our own character sheets. Our characters have been a part of the Titans for a while now, and it would be interesting to see how they've evolved and grown during their time with the team.

@KaliW Ah, I was under the impression it was a newish team being formed? It might be quite hard for me to write about previous experiences with the team without knowing who the full team comprises of? I wouldn't want to step on anyone's toes as well and write about experiences they might have had with them or relationships between them without their permission too? Sorry I'm not meaning to be difficult if I am!

Whoopsie daisy! Looks like I wasn't very clear before. Let's try this again. Instead of getting bogged down in the nitty-gritty details of character relationships, let's focus on your character's adventures within the team. Think about the emotions they felt, any personal growth they experienced, the roles they played in past missions, and how being a part of the team changed them for the better (or for the worse, if that's more your style!). Just to set the scene, the team will be made up of player characters, with Raven being the only non-player character around. Oh, and in case you were wondering, Robin has become the dashing Nightwing and some other members have joined the Justice League, but Raven decided to stick around and train a new crop of Titans.

I understand that the current information provided may not be sufficient. However, I assure you that I will include more comprehensive details regarding the status of the Titans in the introduction as soon as possible. This way, we can have a clearer understanding of the situation at hand and proceed with a more informed perspective.

I’m gonna be honest, the possibility of someone getting love potioned seems kind of weird to me. And not in a good way. That’s adjacent to mind control, both of which take agency from people, because now someone has to write their character acting on the decisions of someone who isn’t their writer.

Putting it as kindly as possible. There are red flags here, not the least of such being the very specifically worded abilities of the GM's character that are centered on taking away player agency in a fairly concerning way. Wouldn't nearly be as bad if they didn't push against taking away the more concerning bit of the glorified mind control, or even vaguely mentioned any kind of warning for it being a possible theme in the 'story'

I understand that some individuals were bothered by the inclusion of physical and romantic attraction. In the spirit of creating an inclusive and respectful environment for all players, I have decided to rephrase and remove that aspect from Kairo's ability. Mind control has been a popular theme in fiction, and I recognize the power dynamic it creates in a story. While I could have chosen a character like Professor Xavier who has a more definitive control over others, Kairo's power is meant to be less intrusive and more defensive in nature. His ability is not meant to make other characters lose their sense of self and become romantically involved with him, but instead, simply prevent them from attacking him. Kairo, like all the other characters, is meant to be part of a team and work together towards a common goal. I hope this clarifies any misunderstandings and reiterates that at no point was there any intention to diminish the power of any player.

If you could only provide more detailed descriptions of the limitations of your characters' powers, you would be all set.

I will also not be participating, unfortunately.

The vibe was killed when you got defensive over Kairo's powers.
