You can move through friendly squares fine, but you can’t move through enemy squares, unless you have a feature like Halflings that allow them to do so.

Out of curiosity, does the adventure book say that this encounter is meant to be a plot advancing unwinnable fight or was there a way we could have actually won this had the Bunny Brigands not kicked our asses as hard and as quickly as they have?
