Giselle de Farry
Undead Princess, de Farry

Giselle was momentarily surprised when her blade landed, but didn’t penetrate. She hesitated, unsure of what she was dealing with for a moment, but luckily, Kordelia didn’t immediately capitalize on her mistake, allowing the white-haired vampire to briefly withdraw to evaluate the situation.

The Farisian princess’s mind raced. By all rights, even with a tarnished blade, a silver sword should cut through almost anything undead and ‘unholy’ by the standards of the followers of the dead serpent of creation and destruction. If Kordelia was that powerful to negate such power, then the two of them should already be dead.

Some sort of skin-like armor, then. That was the main flaw of using a silver weapon. Annoying.

She came to that realization just in time for Kordelia to finally shift her attention to her. Stifling the urge to curse, she leapt back; in a moment, she had her gun out in her second hand, just in time to see that the still all-too-fast vampire lord had gone for a feint. She grimaced as the watery tentacles shot out towards her. “A little help here, Aleksiya,” Giselle said simply, before immediately changing course, snapping off a pair of shots towards Kordelia, before she slashed out with her sword at the tendrils that she couldn’t dodge to break free of the trap that she was weaving around her.

"Tch, Kordelia, don't you remember? When we play-fought, this was always your worst trick."

High water content made it all the easier. She'd barely had to put effort in, as the air rapidly chilled, a branch of ice stretching from the palm of Aleksiya's hand and coming into contact with the outstretched tentacles. Ice crept along them almost immediately, their wet and watery form no longer proving so malleable and difficult to cut through when they were suddenly far more brittle and frail.

Kordelia's mind was elsewhere. That much was certain. Reaching out to her with words, at least at the moment, was an exercise in futility. But that didn't necessarily mean attacking her directly was the solution, either. It wasn't as if it wasn't, of course, but if there was another option...

The way she had clutched her chest... the altar? The beating heart... perhaps it was a simply an assumption, but it had corrupted other forms of life.

Ice began to form above Aleksiya's free hand. Destroying it, certainly wasn't a terrible idea.

Forest of beasts

@Click This@Asuras@VitaVitaAR

The creature seemed a bit taken off guard by Argus willingly removing itself from its back. It would have been a good positioning in order to try and get in a fatal blow where it could not reach. The bear growled, its weight having been preparing to fall backwards and crush the vampire on its back against the ground.

However, as Argus leaped off, wrapping his arms around the gargantuan beast, it’d struggle, attempting to reach Argus with its front claws, but ultimately unable to reach. Argus’ muscles strained, his vampiric blood hot in his veins as the massive beast would slowly be lifted from the ground with his superhuman strength.

As it was over his head and with a forceful fall backwards as Argus would throw all of his own weight and strength into it, the beast would be smashed against the ground, an audible crack heard as the beasts skull was smashed into the ground. The creature wretched, hissing and growling as it would flounder on the ground, the chest cavity opening as it thrashed and attempted to regain its footing as it laid on its back.

A perfect opening to finish it off.

The firearm would plink off of whatever dermal armor Kordelia had given herself, the bullets falling against the ground with minimal damage done to the vampire beyond a mere brief growl of annoyance as the tendrils would wrap around Giselle’s neck, tightening, seemingly intent on crushing her neck, thankfully only to be severed by Aleksiya’s ice, the tendrils easily being severed.

“I remember! I remember everything! You! Stupid Kordelia! I know you all hated me!” She’d hiss. “Always making fun of me! Teasing me! Infuriating!”

The tendrils retreated, reforming into a clawed hand. Kordelia didn’t shift focus from Giselle, but the other vampire would be in for quite a surprise as she’d find sharp, deadly antlers now growing from her skull as the frenzied vampire slammed her head into Giselle’s. At least this close, however, she could see that the vampires skin, aside from her face was covered in what seemed to be some sort of thick, shell or scale like armor.

Captain Argus Fellborn

His gambit actually worked. The beast was down and the puppeteer exposed, now was Argus' chance to end this fight.

Wasting no time and taking no chances, Captain Fellborn thrust his sword into the bear-boar's throat- if this thing breathed, if there was any life in this gruesome puppeteered beast, it would soon expire. Next, he lunged at the skeleton and drove his sword deeply into the chest cavity, skewering the skeleton's skull on his sword, then attempting to rip it from its spine and raise it above his head like a jolly roger. Even with the only witness to this fight being a witch half-watching, the sixth tenet of Ichor demanded nothing short of bombastic spectacle from Her children.

With the fight (presumably) over, Argus recovered his hat, then approached the witch.

"You have your blanket, Miss Charlotte," he stated as he eyed his blade as to determine if the blood upon it was any good. Beast blood could not fully sustain a vampire, but it might hold him over until he could find a proper meal.

Giselle de Farry
Undead Princess, de Farry

Giselle hissed in displeasure as her bullets found their mark, but still failed against Kordelia’s ridiculous armor, the misshapen pieces of blood-emulated lead sloughing off her ‘skin.’ The projectiles dissipated on reflex, always conscious of saving her blood even before these new days where she had to be proactive about conservation.

She would have to try something else… but against a peer opponent –a peer that specialized in combat, when Giselle’s specializations were in a rather different direction—meant that the cards were quite stacked against them even with a three-to-one advantage.
Where was Luna, anyway?

She grimaced as her defense faltered, only to be saved by Aleksiya’s swift intervention. She gave the smaller vampire lord a nod of appreciation before continuing to fall back on the defensive. She’d clearly gained the beast princess’s attention now; it didn’t take much communication for her to convey that Aleksiya would need to press her advantage now.

“Kordelia. You insult my reputation and my pride as princess ambassador if you think I of all people was teasing you, let alone making fun of you,” she replied, as calmly as she could while being attacked. She was not her favorite among all her vampire peers, no, but Giselle never hated the woman. Whatever was corrupting her had severely twisted her mind.

Giselle attempted to dance away, but was too slow to entirely avoid Kordelia when she went in for a head bash. Thankfully, she wasn’t gored by the antlers now growing from her head, but the princess staggered back, momentarily dazed. Realizing her vulnerability, she brought both sword and gun up into a protective guard, firing again for the distraction while she kept her sword up as she continued to jump back.

She idly noted that only her face seemed to be unarmored, but Giselle was reluctant to directly shoot her there.

Kordelia was still distracted, but Giselle was no longer in immediate risk of her body being destroyed. And thus, Aleksiya could target her goal.

A spike of ice formed above her right hand, vapor pouring off of her pale arm as she took aim.

"I apologize for any misunderstandings, Kordelia," she spoke as she aimed squarely at the grotesque altar, and the massive creature's exposed heart beating right before her eyes. If nothing else, this would alleviate the source of the taint. Even if it didn't free Kordelia from whatever influenced her mind, it could at least do that much.

It was, to put it simply, sad to see her fellow Lord in this state. And thus she would do whatever she could to alleviate it, and free her from the madness that now took her.

"You were always one of my favorites, no matter how I teased you, you know."

There was a flash of blue-white, and with a crystalline whistle the spear of ice was unleashed, hurtling through the air and directly towards the altar.

Forest of beasts

@Click This@VitaVitaAR

Kordelia followed through the headbutt, arm twisting into a carapace covered stake. If Giselle was familiar with fauna in the old world, she'd recognize it as the horn of a particularly ferocious desert animal that could swim through the sand much like a fish through water. It clanked off of Giselle's well timed defensive maneuver, earning a snarl from the vampire as she'd make a move to immediately follow up-

"Ah. Nonononono!" A frantic shout as Kordelia would grab a hold of the weapons with her other hand, and promptly kicked Giselle right in the gut. From her back, wings of metal grew, mimicking the deadly wings of a particularly nasty avian that once dwelled in mountaintops near the city. She took to the air, intent obvious as she made a move to intercept the javelin of ice.

A pained screech.

Kordelia fell to the ground.

The impaled bat-king flapped its wings pitifully, thrashing in its coma as its heart beat erratically, now pierced again.

Then it ceased moving, once more. The feeling of being watched once more came over the two vampires as a feral, rage-filled roar came from the vampire lord. Her head turned towards Aleksiya. However...something still wasn't right. The head movement was jerky, as though instead something had pulled it in her direction rather than it being a conscious act.

"Ggrrrk...kill...them all..." The Vampire lord's body mutated further, arms elongating into strong, beastial claws while her legs mutated into avian talons, her body doubling in size in a few short moments as muscles grew, tendons snapped and skin tore. A long, thick tail covered in spikes as her head too, would grow into a beastial muzzle, a jagged row of teeth. Now a towering chimeric beast, Kordelia howled.

And in the forest, beasts returned that howl, but they didn't not come closer...more than anything, they seemed to be heading away...towards the village! As the vampire howled, the two lords would come to see a thin, red strand of...what seemed to be string of some sort trailing behind her. It was faint, but just barely visible. Atop the pillar that had been driven into the bat king, the two fighting vampires would now be aware of what was likely the thing that was watching them.

A person in a maid dress. She seemed to be smirking down at the vampires present.

The creature thrashed, what life it had quickly being flayed from its body by Argus. Seconds after his blade severed its throat and tore into the skeletal creature within, it would cease moving entirely. He'd be greeted with a mildly irreverent clapping from the witch that had watched the whole endeavor.

"Eheheh...well, that was quite the show. You shouldn't have just for little 'ol me." She'd chuckle, rummaging around in her robes. "Buuut...I must at least give you a little something in return. Here." She'd hold out a necklace. A murky, blood red stone. "I'm sure a vampire of your stature could make use of this. A failed experiment of mine, but useful nonetheless. Just think of it as a tiny little package of potent magical power. Now..."

The conversation was interrupted by a feral, loud howl deeper within the forest.

"...I suggest you get heading to that village." A smile, the witches face seemed for a few moments, much clearer and much less scattered as she spoke. "The great serpent stirs. Time moves once more. I wonder, will you save the world or doom it once again, vampire?" It was followed by a chuckle. "Now go on, get, get! No sense in you staying here!"

"You give such boring answers, you know?" Akyasha mentioned to the ever stubborn Julene. She was hoping for a more interesting answer but all she got was, "I'll never change for any reason." Truly there was no possibility of that being a truth so Akyasha sat there, pondering what next to say to Julene. That is until she felt a surge of vampiric power. The Cleric frowned. "What did they manage to do?" She questioned herself. "Julene, I think it's best we prepare for the worst."

"Batty, come here." The Cleric commanded the Gorebat to her before turning it's blood-bloated body to fuel for her casting to summon more. She needed more eyes and ears now in case something happened to the village. While realistically she didn't care much if the humans lived or died, it was nice to have a source of blood if needed. Besides, having a place that was safe enough to rest at was nice. "I recommend you prepare in the worst of cases, Julene. It wouldn't be good if something happened to this village. I'm going to bring forth more of these useful little batties." Akyasha mentioned as started using the Gorebat's blood to summon forth more of its kin. "My little bats are adorable but also quite useful."

Captain Argus Fellborn

Argus was in the process of examining the necklace that the witch had handed him, pondering the power it might hold, when he heard the howl in the distance. He wasn't sure exactly what sort of beast was making it, but it didn't sound like a good sign. Most likely it was coming from another twisted beast.

There would be no respite for the pirate. Charlotte suggested that the pirate get to the village immediately. Back in the previous age, Argus could have cared less for a village, but given the current state of the world, human blood was a precious resource, and he could not afford to let the beasts destroy the only local source of the substance. What a strange reversal, to go from preying upon them to protecting them, Argus thought to himself.

"I can scarcely believe that I am doing this," Argus remarked as he pocketed the necklace, before taking off towards the village. According to Cynthia, the other vampires were in the village- perhaps he'd finally be able to figure out just who else among his kind had either survived or been brought back.

It didn't appear that the blow had been sufficient to put the poor creature out of its misery, nor end what she could only assume was the twisted shrine's influence on the monsters and Kordelia itself.

But...

Even as Kordelia's transformation into something monstrous began, Aleksiya noticed something distinctly wrong. Not the transformation in and of itself, though it was rare that her fellow lord pushed any of the beastly alterations to this point. Rather the strained manner of speech, the way her head had jerked unnaturally, and the faint crimson thread that drifted from behind her.

The sudden arrival of the maid only prompted further doubt in the nature of the situation.

But Aleksiya's attention now turned from the twisted altar to that glint of thread behind what was now an enormous monstrosity.

"Dear me, Kordelia," she said with a sigh, "What an unpleasant makeover. Might I suggest you return to your previous look?"

Her words fell on deaf ears, naturally, as she took a step back, manifesting a razor-edged length of ice beside her right arm.

"I'm glad to see you find this amusing, observer," she added, addressing the maid, "I certainly do not."

She pointed the ice-blade forward.

"Giselle. The thread, you saw it as well? I don't think I need to say anything more about what we should do."

And then she was off and running. Either cut the thread herself, or maintain the monstrous Kordelia's attention. Either way, she had to ensure it was severed.

Giselle de Farry
Undead Princess, de Farry

Aleksiya was not the only one that frowned at the extent of Kordelia’s renewed transformation. Aside from the obvious gaucheness of it all, it was simply not in the style of the beast princess, even one as demented and corrupted as she was now. Her strange movements after Aleksiya’s attack all but confirmed the woman’s poor body was being puppeted.

That offended Giselle greatly, but she remained cautious. Whoever was doing that was dangerous indeed if they could do such a thing to a vampire lord. She frowned as the thing that Kordelia had twisted into howled, spurring the beasts around them into… heading for the village. Narrowing her eyes, she hoped that the other lords in the village would be able to defend a second wave, as she and Aleksiya were in no position to intervene.

The smaller vampire was not the only one to notice the strange red thread, and she nodded to acknowledge it. The maid atop the pillar, however, had most of her attention. Normally, she looked upon such servants very favorably. She kept an impressive knight corps of combat maids herself, doting on them far more than a sovereign really should have, and she still had a soft spot for the cute maids some of her peers and other powers had, too.

She was not so lucky to encounter a surviving maid from her household, although the dress looked strangely close to a certain Maison from eons past, even if it didn’t quite match the uniform.

The unknown maid here, however, received a colder welcome than either would ever receive.

“You style yourself as a maid, yet I can already tell whatever master or mistress you may belong to was lacking in your education with manners like yours.” Chiding the maid as if she were a disappointed mother talking to an unruly child, she moved even as she spoke, sword out, aiming for the thread. Still, she didn’t hesitate to get information the good, old-fashioned way.

“Introduce yourself.”

“And you ask weird questions, so we’re even.” Julene shrugged. The human would go on to start cleaning up the meal she had made for herself. The blacksmith at least still was remaining friendly and amicable, though she didn’t seem to still trust Akyasha much. Perhaps Julene was just too straight laced, too narrow minded to think about such things.

She was just about to start washing a bowl when Akyasha made her comment.

“Prepare for the worst?” She questioned, but she didn’t have to wait long for her answer. A deafening howl came from the forest. Every hair on Julene’s neck stood on end, a chill going down her spine as a chorus of more howls and shrieks followed.

“Gods blood…!” She’d turn her head towards the direction of the forest. “That sounded like every damn beast…!” She’d drop what she was doing instantly, grabbing her blade from where it had lain and immediately bolted out the door, not bothering to give Akyasha a response or acknowledge what she had done beyond a simple nod.

Akyasha’s summons would soon be ready. The gorebat she had summoned over gleefully chittered, happy to fulfill its entire mission in life to be used as little more than fodder and sacrifice for its summons. As its body popped like an overfilled balloon, three more would burst from its corpse, clawing their way into reality, giving Akyasha three fresh Gorebats to play with.

Outside, she could already here a few people shouting. A cacophony of roars, and notably Julene’s voice shouting as she engaged one of the lanky batmen that had come from the forest.

And this would be the hellish scene Argus would find himself entering into the village to find. A horde of beasts, assaulting the decaying village. The people that had been living here were completely unprepared for a second attack, let alone one of such ferocity. Most beasts had already gotten inside several dwellings and residents.

It was chaos.

“Well, I was wondering who was meddling in our investment.” The maid, clicked her tongue. “But it seems its a bunch of little powerless slugs that couldn’t even survive the end of the world without some help.” She’d laugh. “Oh well, its not worth speaking to you two. Zethek?”

The red thread suddenly snapped into a straight line, as if something or someone had pulled it taught. The two vampires could sense a third presence.

Giselle’s blade would cut the thread, but it seemed as though it would not be so easy. Instantly several more would appear, but instead of being drawn to the maid, would now be coming from the ground, wrapping around the beastial vampire. In almost the same instance, two large, spectral hands would claw their way from the ground, several rings adorning their fingers all with a red thread connected to them.

One would move to swat Aleksiya out of the sky like a bug.

“Ta-ta lovelies. Try not to die before you can get answers out of me.” And with that, red thread would wrap itself around the maid, and in an instant she disappeared.

In all, there were at least five red threads coiled and tightened around Kordelia. The spectral hands manipulating her with them.

"Batties, do not harm any of the humans. Collect blood from beasts and the dead residents if you can do so without getting hurt. Our goal is the survival of these humans, after all." Akyasha whispered to her Gorebats as she exited Julene's house with her Blood Weapon axe in hand. "What an odd sort of enemy." The Cleric told herself as she jumped at the enemy Julene faced, bringing her axe to cleave the creature in twain. "I'm ponderous as to what happened to my compatriots if these beasts are all here."

The good news was that with all these dead humans and the beasts about, she might be able to summon the stronger of creatures she could summon of her Goddess' minions. The bad news was that she was afraid of all the humans dying. If they could come to an agreement they could have had a limited blood supply but.... Now, that might not be the best option.

The Vampire looked around to see just how many enemies made it into the village and kept her ears open to hear which buildings the beast had made it in already. The more humans that survived, the more possible blood there was to take later.

Captain Argus Fellborn

By the time the pirate had arrived, the beasts had already begun to break into the houses. This wasn't good- these humans wouldn't last very long cornered in their home. Just what had gotten into these monsters anyway, he wondered.

The cause was irrelevant. All that mattered now was keeping as many of the warm blood-bags alive as possible.

Fortunately, he wasn't going to do this alone. Argus spotted a woman attired in a rather out-of-place nun's habit exiting a building, accompanied by a small pack of gorebats. Another child of Ichor, no doubt. He would need to speak to her after this was over, but there wasn't any time for that at the moment.

Argus drew his sword and dashed after a beast that he spotted making its way into a building, slicing through any of the creatures that might have been in his way. The vampire raised his cutlass and whether or not the beast turned around upon hearing the vampire's footsteps, the blade would be swung with the intention to decapitate.

So much blood...yet it was no doubt tainted and impure.

Julene’s blade sliced into the flesh of the beastman, the creature howling and recoiling. She would follow it with another strike, a thrust, impaling the beast on the end of the blade. A wolf made to tackle her from the side, but a quick hand a bolt from her crossbow sent it to the ground before it could get airborne.

But this was too much. There were too many beasts. Too many people unprepared.

“Where did all these beasts come from!” Julene shouted, dispatching a beast that had jumped a child and their parents. “Go on, barricade yourselves inside, now! Don’t come out! Not for anything!” She’d shout, practically shoving them inside. “If you’ve got some solution to this, woman, nows the time!” She’d shout towards Akyasha, seemingly thinking if nothing else these odd travelers might be able to do something.

As for the number…Akyasha was having trouble keeping count of them all. They were moving too fast, and were too numerous. There were too many to keep effective track of. The gorebats though, were more than eager to help. Of the ones she summoned, the three quickly got to work, working together to find the beasts and drain them of blood within seconds. The only downside was that the poor things would quite likely fill their bellies soon and she’d need to summon more or use them for something else.

If nothing else, she had given more people time to scramble inside and barricade themselves - but now the beasts were outside with her, julene, and only a handful more of villagers and another…vampire?

Argus’s cutlass cleanly sliced into one of the lanky bat men, the head of the beast soon rolling upon the ground as he’d find himself standing in the doorway of a house. A terrified girl surrounded by the corpses of her parents. A beast loomed over, ready to strike the young girl.

"Tch..."

The maid was already gone. There was no use chasing after her.

Now they had to do all they could to free Kordelia and put and end to the beastly threat.

The hand sweeping towards her was immediately met by an ice barrier, hastily materialized as swiftly as possible by gathering but that wasn't enough to completely arrest its motion. In a split second, Aleksiya felt her own barrier slam into her, the impact rocking through her arms, all through her small frame. The world around her blurred, fire tore its way up her limbs, and she was sent to the ground in an instant with an unbidden cry.

Now the hot sensation explodes through her back, instead, the small girl's eyes shut tightly, her teeth clenched.

And yet, her lips parted in a grin.

Her ice barrier hadn't followed her. Immediately, spikes erupted from its surface, aiming to skewer the hand that had slapped her down.

Upon striking down the first beast, Argus was able to get a good look at the inhabitants of the home. A human couple, already dead before he could intervene. A shame, but their bodies would at least yield blood. They could be useful for necromancy, but weak materials made for weak servants- Argus would be better off raising the beasts.

The corpses weren't alone, though. A young girl, no doubt the daughter of the deceased. Perhaps the beasts saved the weakest and least appetizing for last. Or perhaps her parents, in a final act of familial affection, held the beasts off to grant her a most brief reprieve before the end, giving their lives to buy her but a final moment of life in this broken, wretched world.

She was too small to be fed upon, too young to be a proper thrall or undead minion. Given enough time and fortune, she might grow up and help to keep the humans from extinction, but that was hardly a consideration worth entertaining at this moment. Yet Argus felt a need to keep her from death. There was, after all, nothing to be gained in letting this child die.

As the pirate charged, he drew his pistol and fired at the beast, striking it from a distance beyond his sword's reach. Even if the shot didn't kill the creature, it'd serve as an effective message that the helpless girl should be the least of its concerns. As soon as he got close enough, he'd bring his cutlass down upon it.

Akyasha made a mental note of the new vampire on the scene. One that she had no memory of prior to this day at the least. She whistled, calling back many of the already full Gorebats. There were many enemies and for the most part, more numbers helped counteract other numbers. Outside the case of her and her kin, the was most cases. So, the more numbers they had against these beasts, the better. As soon as the Gorebats would return, she would use them as fuel to summon even more to suck the blood from more beasts. Weaken the enemy and strengthen oneself. "Julene, shall I call upon more of these poor batties? We could use more numbers after all. I might even get to show you a special treat a small time from now should the need arise. I just need more." Akyasha asked her human companion, defending herself from the beasts at hand as necessary until the bats arrived. A swipe here, a parry here.

Giselle de Farry
Undead Princess, de Farry

Giselle had a soft spot for maids, but she tolerated insolence from precious few of them. The ones she did… were long gone. At least for now. Fuck your ‘investment,’ she thought. She considered herself a chill vampire lord, and an even more relaxed princess, but being talked down to like dirt while threatening a village into extinction…. And defiling the mind, memory, and sanctity of a fellow lord… Such things were beyond the pale.

If only she had the power or information to do anything about it. For all of the maid’s arrogance, it was warranted, in a way, when Giselle and Aleksiya were still weak after reawakening. The white-haired vampire could only scowl in displeasure as the wretched maid stole away into the neverending night.

Unlike Aleksiya, there was no smile on her face as she moved to dismantle the spectral creature that the maid had left behind. There was only grim determination as she struck out at both the hands and the crimson threads that remained to manipulate the poor beast princess. Giselle was not so confident that removing the hand and the strange thread manipulating her body would free Kordelia, but nonetheless, the obstacle conveniently remained for the Farisian princess as the outlet for her anger.

Perhaps Giselle might not have been as fast as a manipulated Kordelia, but sufficiently motivated, she could still move. As Aleksiya played with the hand itself, she snapped out at the threads still controlling Kordelia, slashing first with a wide arc with her silver blade, before turning into focus on each individual thread had her initial sweep failed to find purchase.

The pirates pistol found its mark, the bullet burying itself into the creatures neck, earning a pained snarl, its swipe narrowly missing the girl as Argus closed in. It’d immediately turn to the bigger threat as the cutlass came down upon its head, slicing a deep gash into the beasts neck, killing the beast with relative ease all things considered but it would be a short lived reprieve.

“I don’t care what you do, just do-” A loud shriek from the forest. A baleful, hateful thing that caused even the frenzied beasts paused momentarily, seemingly cowering in mild fear as the air would soon be pierced a second time. “-what on earth…?” The vampires would not have to wait long before the source of the shriek made itself known.

A shadow from the forest leaping into the air, over the tree tops. A large, hulking mass slammed into a house, crushing its ceiling and destroying the entire building as it would proceed to rip the rest of the building to shreds with its bare hands.

“Gods blood…what is that…!”

Standing nearly twelve feet tall, It looked like some horrible amalgamation of owl, deer, and man. An uncanny human face on a flat, owl like head. As it opened its beak, a row of distinctly human teeth were seen screaming from within. Scraggly wings tipped with three long, claw like hands hung from its side as its clawed feet gripped the ground. Antlers curled from its head, and where its stomach should have been was just a hole, a ripped out section where its guts should be. Its head did a full rotation upon its long neck, as if surveying the situation before screeching once more.

It lashed out with its claws, slamming them into the ground, going right for Julene.

Forest of beasts

Swatted out of the sky, but not without landing a serious blow. The ice barrier morphed into a wall of spikes, the icy protrusions piercing the creature. Perhaps rather disappointingly as it impaled itself, there were no sounds of pain or even an inkling that it showed any sign of being injured at all as the spike was driven right through its hand through its palm. It merely righted itself, its fingers twitching in the only show of emotion it seemingly had.

Giselle’s swordplay had seemingly less of a noticeable effect to start with. The second hand pulled back, the red threads pulling taught, and at the same time…Kordelia moved. The threads were wrapped tightly around her body, even if Giselle severed one it wouldn’t simply free her so easily as the bestial vampire lord turned her attention to the other. She however, seemed strangely slowed - the hand that Aleksiya had impaled was having trouble manipulating Kordelia properly.
