Been watching some Disney movies as of late, so I've gotten a hankering to make some characters.
I havent really figured out any specific characters I wanna play as, but conceptually I do want to play someone who is more "side character" like. Specifically I want to make a character who's job is to follow the usual prince and princesses, but remain unseen, and protect them from the shadows. A bodyguard type.
I was originally thinking of making Marshmallow from Frozen, the snow golem Elsa created, but I'm also thinking Baymax too. Another idea I have is playing an animated object from Beauty and The Beast. Tbh I just wanna make a robot or warforged type of character.
I could use some help coordinating and adjusting the concept.
Edit: As per usual when I think about DnD, I already got an idea that could work! Just gotta put some details into it. Do you want me to talk shop in DMs or is the ooc fine for this?

Hiya! We can talk shop here. I recommend PMs if your character has secrets you don’t want spoiled yet. ;)
My character is the Great Stone Dragon from Mulan, or the spirit that resides within.
In his world, he has had a reputation for strength and wisdom, guarding the Fa family for generations, guiding them and protecting them from threats both mundane and magical. this reflects on many of his abilities which revolve around protecting his allies and making them stronger. But there's one catch:
He's not actually a dragon.
He was a simple earth spirit called a Xian, basically like a Chinese Fairy, from a long time ago to help the Fa Family ancestor in more humble pursuits such as farming or hunting. But being a mere spirit, he couldn't really help with physical labor such as plowing fields or killing animals. Instead he used his natural connection to the earth and a bit of cunning wit to help the fa family via gifting them tools and knowledge so that they ultimately are able to help themselves. Over time, he did develop enough power to manifests a sort of avatar that can actually do things, but in order to maintain the secrets of the family's success, he created the alter ego of the "Great Stone Dragon" to masquerade his accomplishments as feats of pure strength and innate wisdom, instead of brutal pragmatism and trickery.
This reflects on the character build itself: Instead of being something like a dragonborn, he's actually an Earth Genasi (Mechanically) and instead of being a Wizard or Paladin, he's actually an Artificer (So a little bit of both). Eventually he will take on the Armorer subclass to "rebuild" the Great Stone Dragon as he was before, but for now at level 1 he's a humble earth spirit trying to keep a low profile until he can build back his strength.
Haven't rolled for stats or anything but I wanted to see if the concept itself is solid for the RP. IC, I would figure that the adventure he's going on right now is just sort of his way to growing stronger to eventually return back home to serve the Fa Family, or alternatively we can connect the Disney Mulan movie to the events of the RP: When Mushu went to awaken the Great Stone Dragon, the reason he didn't awaken was because he basically got Isekai'd onto this quest, leaving behind his dragon armor and much of everything else he usually uses to protect the Fa family.
@Lucius Cypher That is a really cool take on the Great Stone Dragon! I like it! XD
The concept is definitely solid for this game.
Since the character is an Earth Spirit, I can imagine him having some inkling that something weird happened to the Disney timeline/world. But all they'd have are moments of deja vu, and "Wait a minute...didn't I already teach the Fa Family this?"
I was definitely thinking of tying the events of Disney movies to the RP, (if nothing's changed for the events. :P). There wouldn't be so much of an Isekai'd elsewhere for the Great Stone Dragon, but maybe they left to try and find answers regarding the senses of Deja Vu?
Yeah that could work. Not quite an isekai, but still a sort of "strangeness is happening" that the Stone Dragon went to look into, and ended up losing power, being removed from his homelands, and ending up on this adventure. Part of his quest is to get back home, but also to investigate and stop this danger before it hits his home.
This is just a little bit of world building here...
@LuckyLudor There are numerous different guilds, and it's not uncommon for different guilds to deal in the same trade or practice.
So, the specific guild Mabel is part of is the 'Three Fairies' Weaver's Guild'. Mabel knows that this guild is a prestigious and wide spread Weaver's Guild! A lot of the higher standing members are fashion designers. Some of the more famous members have provided the finest to famous figures, such as royalty. And we're not talking just the Disney Princesses, we're also talking about the Kings and Queens!
You've also heard that for some reason, in the Olympians' Country, Chora, they insist on calling your guild the 'Three Fates' Weaver's Guild' for some weird reason. You're not sure why though.
The symbol of the Guild is a red flower, a green butterfly, and a blue cloud, forming a triangle of thread, intertwining with each other on top of a spinning wheel.
Right now, Mabel is considered a Junior Member of the Guild. Mabel has proven herself in her skills, so she doesn't really need an apprenticeship, but the Guild is concerned that potential customers or clients won't take Mabel or her work seriously due to her age.
Nope. Changes are bound to happen when time is rewound like it has been.
Plus, with the world, I intend this to be more of a D&D world than the real world. That way it won't be too weird to have two Disney movies that took place in two different spots in the world occur at the same time in an area (within reason of course. So you won't expect to encounter both Aladdin and Frozen happening at the same location at the same time).
Speaking of... Let's get the major countries up here...
The Northernmost Kingdom. During the winters, the kingdom would be covered in ice and snow, while the springs and summers would be just as warm and sunny as any other place.
However, something has happened. One night, the Kingdom fell into winter overnight. So far, it has not been alleviated yet.
The more observant have noticed that this sudden appearance of Winter occurred just after the Kingdom concluded its seclusion and isolation from the rest of the world. Could there be a reason for that?
(Frozen)
Agrabah is a sultanate surrounded by vast deserts. Not much is known about this place, other than there are no others to challenge the Sultanate's power and rule in this environment. Desert bandits and raiders are able to make their living attacking travelers who try to travel to Agrabah.
There are legends and rumors of great treasures hidden in the deserts somewhere. This has attracted many adventurers and explorers to Agrabah.
(Aladdin)
The Pride Lands is home to all life who are considered wild, or have an affinity towards the wild. All of the Pride Lands, including the Elephant Graveyards, are surrounded by dense jungles. There are some human villages in those jungles, but the jungles act as a wall separating the Pride Lands from the rest of the world. The Pride Lands is in a sense, a sanctuary.
Those who go to the Pride Lands to hunt the denizens will quickly find themselves being hunted themselves, as though something divine is seeking retribution.
The current King of the Pride Lands is Simba.
(The Lion King, The Lion King 2, and The Jungle Book)
This vast land was once one of chaos and turmoil. It wasn't just mortals who clashed against each other for power a long time ago, it was also the divine and those called Yao-Guai who fought against each other.
It wasn't until a monk named Sanzang embarked on a pilgrimage, that peace was restored. The details of how are still somewhat unclear. The monk was accompanied by the mischievous Monkey King, Sun Wukong, a gluttonous pig, Zhu Bajie, a water demon, Sha Wujing, and the Dragon, Yu Long.
After the journey was completed, the Emperor was chosen to rule, guide, and protect the denizens of Wuhou.
Of course, that hasn't stopped some mortals from trying to seize power. Shan Yu and the huns tried. But thanks to Li Shang and Ping Fa, along with the rest of the army, the war against Shan Yu was won. However, the truth about Ping's identity was revealed: He was actually a woman named Mulan. She was pardoned and honored as a hero along with Li Shang.
Now, it appears as though Wuhou is in a period of peace. But how long would that last?
(Mulan)
These isles are said to be close to the Olympian Gods. Rumors have spread all throughout the lands that Chora is said to be the closest place to paradise. Many who go to these isles seldom return. Surely it must be the best place to live and spend your days...right?
One satyr has left those isles. Should anyone talk to him about Chora, he warns them to not go to the isles. He refuses to say any more about them.
(Hercules)
The Seven Seas is home to all Aquatic Life. Ships and other watercraft that sail above are typically left alone. The ruler of the Seven Seas is none other than King Triton. There are rumors among the aquatic denizens that speak of a Sea Witch that can help anyone with their problems, for a price...
(The Little Mermaid, Moana, Finding Nemo, Luca, etc.)
This is a coastal kingdom. The current ruling family has an heir, Prince Eric.
There is a legend in this kingdom. It speaks of a puppet coming to life after an elderly woodcarver created him and wished upon a star. The legend speaks of how the puppet became a real child. However, many are not sure how true this legend is.
There are rumors in this kingdom speaking of mysterious creatures and beings living in the ocean. There are also rumors of people going missing. One child stated that the people who went missing went to a nearby island called "Pleasure Island". The child refuses to talk about what happened to those who went there.
(The Little Mermaid, Pinocchio, Luca)
This kingdom is said to be close to the gateway to the Feywild. The mountain range of this kingdom is said to be where the Draconic Fey, Maleficent is said to dwell. The King Stephan and Queen Leah are in rule, but they had a Princess named Aurora. The Princess received gifts from the three fairies, Flore, Fauna, and Merryweather. But she also received a curse from Maleficent. After receiving said curse, all of the spinning wheels were burned and Aurora was sent away. That was 16 years ago. To this day, nobody knows where the Princess is...
(Sleeping Beauty)
This is a small kingdom. Nasty rumors about the prince have spread throughout this kingdom. Prince Adam's behavior was so atrocious, that an enchantress had turned him into a Beast, and cursed the rest of the castle for enabling him. It wasn't until he met Belle that the curse was lifted.
While Belle is loved and respected, the denizens seem to be especially wary of the Prince and Princess.
On the other hand, the Church of the Divine Fire is gaining trust and recognition for their acts of kindness and charity. However, many people have noted their stringent rules and practices. A small few have pointed out the hypocrisies of the Church, only for them to be silenced. The Archbishop of the Church is currently leading the clergy with kindness and compassion, while Judge Claude Frollo assists with an iron fist.
The Church is slowly gaining power as the rulers instead of the Monarchy...
(Beauty and the Beast, The Hunchback of Notre Dame)
Camelot! It is said to be the grandest of all of the Kingdoms! The King, King Arthur, is a kind, just, and righteous king. Everyone inside the Kingdom knows of his humble beginnings, while everyone outside might think of him as great from the start. But one thing is for sure: Arthur became King by pulling the sword from the stone when nobody else could.
He was chosen to become king by divine right.
While his castle and the stone are famous locations in this area, there is a new structure that is gaining attention these days: A tower with artifice that allows people to tell time from it. This tower is called "Big Ben".
Lately, there are concerns in this kingdom of those who are defenseless, such as children and animals, going missing....
(The Sword and the Stone, Bedknobs and Broomsticks, Peter Pan, 101 Dalmatians)
This is home to the Fairest One of All. Presently, Queen Regina Grimhilde, the stepmother to Snow White, holds the title along with the title of Queen. While her actions and rulings as Queen have been fair thus far, her actions toward Snow White have been enacted by jealously.
But....something about the Queen has changed.
(Snow White and the Seven Dwarves)
This is a small kingdom compared to the others. This is the neighboring kingdom to Ebenholm. This kingdom has reported sightings of fey, but other than that, this seems to be a quiet kingdom with nothing to note. The Prince is currently trying to find a Princess to marry....
(Cinderella)
A small and humble kingdom compared to the rest of the kingdoms. It is famous for the annual lantern lighting ceremony. The floating lanterns is a beautiful sight, but it is a new ritual. The locals there say that the ritual began many years ago, when the infant princess was kidnapped one night. The knights had no luck in finding the lost princess, so the lanterns was a way to help the Princess find her way home.
(Tangled)
This empire is ruled by none other than Emperor Kuzco! This empire touts the vast verdant hills and jungles, lots of gold, advanced alchemy, lots of llamas, and a groove that just won't quit! Did they mention that the Emperor Kuzco is amazing? Yes? Multiple times already? OK. Kuzco is amazing.
Of course...not everything is sunshine, gold, and groove in this empire...
(The Emperor's New Groove)
A new found land, where some areas are still bountiful wilderness, while other regions are settled and the people improving both magic and artifice. The relationship between the Druids who tend and protect the land and the explorers who come here is very strained and tenuous...
(Pocahontas, Brother Bear, Princess and the Frog, Big Hero 6, Toy Story)
