"One hero comes from the depths,
On land, she takes her first steps.
Passion bids her to Adventure,
But to Darkness, she did indenture..."

Name: Ariel

Appearance:

Stats and abilities

Personality: Ariel is a bright, spirited and headstrong mermaid with a strong passion for adventure and exploration. She has a fascination with the human world, and a desire to learn more about them and their culture. Ariel is extremely compassionate and loving towards almost all living things, and prefers to see the good in people. This trait often leads her to being taken advantage of by those who’s intentions are not so good. At times she can be stubborn about her beliefs, and impulsive in achieving her desires. She is a romantic, willing to make daring sacrifices for the sake of true love. She even has a temper, though it’s nowhere near as bad as her father’s.

Backstory: Ariel is the youngest of the seven daughters of king Triton, ruler of the ocean. She was always her father’s favorite daughter, because she looked so much like her mother. She led a privileged life with her family, until her mother was killed by pirates. The family was never the same after that. King Triton has a hatred of humans, and he forbid merpeople from having any contact with them. For a bit, Ariel was as scared of humans as her father was. That changed when she saw a group of humans saving a dolphin that washed up on the beach. After that, she learned that not all humans were bad, and she became fascinated with humans and the human world. She would explore shipwrecks and gather treasures from the human world to keep in her grotto.

Her going out to find treasures has caused her to miss out on events and her duties as a princess. This earned her the ire of her father, and the ridicule of other merfolk, including her own sisters. Her only friends were a fish named Flounder, and Scuttle the seagull.

One day, she saw flashing lights in the sky, and went to the surface to explore. That was when she saw a human ship with humans on board up close. She also saw a handsome prince named Eric. But before she could learn more, a storm came and destroyed the ship. Most of the humans escaped, but the prince fell overboard trying to save his dog. Ariel rescued the prince, brought him ashore, and sang to him. She escaped before she was spotted.

Ever since she has fallen in love with the prince, and is more determined than ever to explore the human world. Unfortunately, her plans were briefly disrupted when her father found out about her collection of human treasures, and the fact that she broke the rules about going to surface, and interacting with a human! An argument erupted which resulted in King Triton destroying Ariel’s treasures. The young mermaid was distraught.

Ariel soon got in contact with Ursula, the Sea Witch. Ursula took advantage of Ariel’ s vulnerable state, and the two struck a deal. Ursula would give Ariel a pair of legs. This time, instead of trading her voice, Ariel agrees to do Ursula favors on land at a later date. Ariel wears a replica of Ursula’s shell necklace as a symbol of this pact.

She has taken up adventuring in order to find her prince, and learn more about the human world.

I wish I could be, part of that world

“A shooting star is far from home,
and carrying her brother's tome,
Her destiny is bound to create,
something to change many a fate. . .”

Name: Mabel Pines

Character Sheet: myth-weavers.com/sheet.html#id=2800719
Stat/Dice Rolls: roleplayerguild.com/campaigns/1036

Appearance:

Personality:
Mabel is young and energetic, an agent of chaos. She is rather random and aware of it, but not self conscious about it, most of the time (certain people can cause her to get in her own head about it). She's at that age where hormones create swift and strong moods, being easily thrown into the extremes of excitement, joy, fear, and sorrow. She loves to chat about all sorts of things, and is particularly passionate about all sorts of craft-work, magical creatures, the beauty of nature, music, and romance.

She takes an exceptional interest in people, being both clingy and fiercely protective of those she cares about, and quickly going on the defensive with those she dislikes or sees as rivals. She tries her best at everything she does and hates being outdone. As such she's easily drawn into unnecessary competitions (or as she sees it, completely necessary).

Backstory:
Mabel and her twin brother Dipper were residence of a large sprawling city. They grew up very close and were practically inseparable outside of their apprenticeships. Mabel had shown a degree of skill in fabric craft, and was thus been apprenticed to the Three Fairies' Weaver's Guild (also known as 'Three Fates' Weaver's Guild' in Chora). Mabel is currently a Junior Guild member, having proven herself fairly quickly. Her favorite parts are dying the wool into custom colors and knitting sweaters. More sweaters than the guild could sell, often with wilder patterns than the guild could sell, especially when coupled with her young age. She also kept a large number of them for herself, but her favorite is a pink sweater with a shooting star on it. Dipper meanwhile was apprenticed to the local library and records office.

Over the summer her and her brother were convinced to take a break from their work to visit their great-uncle in a small town up north. It was a slower and boring setting in their eyes, but there were good things; Dipper found a mysterious old journal, and Mabel met a cute boy, Norman. But things are not always as they seem, as the book turned out to be full of descriptions of monsters and blueprints for interesting contraptions, while Norman turned out to be a collection of middle age gnomes in a trench-coat. And thus the duo were forced to flee from an army of delusional gnomes.

The twins would have several more minor adventures around town and in the neighboring woods before getting separated. Turns out a rival tween, Gideon had a similar journal and wanted Dipper's as well, using Mabel to try to get to it. During the resulting scuffle, one of the boys knocked into Mabel, who stumbled away went sliding down a ravine, along with journal #3. Mabel tried to find her way back to her brother, but only managed to get even more lost instead. . .

I wish. . . to find my brother and protect my family.

Additional Notes:
- The symbol of the Three Fairies' Weaver Guild is a red flower, green butterfly, and blue cloud linked by a triangle of thread over a spinning wheel.

"Though he disobeyed before,
fear will make him serve once more.
While he could not kill Snow White,
against this caster he'll join the fight."

Name: The Huntsman

Appearance:

Stats and abilities

Personality: The Huntsman is a man who would much rather be part of the background than play a major role in anything. He is gluttonous, somewhat awkward, and easily cowed into doing the bidding of those who would be able to back up their threats. Though he is able to overcome this fear if he is ordered to do something truly terrible. Sadly, he has yet to find the limit to what he can bring himself to do in order to spare himself the wrath of the Queen. As a result, his sleep his often troubled by guilt induced nightmares of the things he has done under her orders. Despite the evil acts he often commits, he is a good man at heart. He can come to care a great deal about those he gets to know, especially if they remind him of Snow White. Also, he isn't too keen on the name he was born with, preferring instead to go by his job title.

Backstory: Once upon a time, a poacher set a trap among the wild flowers of a secluded glade far into the forest. When he returned to check on it, the poacher found a baby bluebird caught in the trap. Thanks to how small it was, the harmful components of the trap had missed the bluebird completely. Even so, it was unable to escape the trap. Taking pity on the bird, the poacher freed it. But as the baby bluebird flew back up into the trees, a shadow fell over the poacher. The King had brought his daughter on an outing to the glade and the poacher had just been caught red handed by one of the King's men. The poacher was brought before the King to face his judgment. But before a sentence could be delivered, the baby bluebird flew back down from the trees. It landed on the shoulder of the King's daughter and the two seemed to have a conversation, which ended in Snow White telling her father that the poacher was a good man and to not be too hard on him. Seeing that his daughter liked the poacher and in need of a man with experience in hunting anyway, the King decided to take the poacher into his employ.

And so the poacher became the Huntsman.

Over the next few years, the Huntsman distinguished himself as a loyal servant of the King. He brought in good meat for the banquet hall, drove away predators that threatened the game, and he watched over Snow White when not required for other duties. Things started to take a turn after the King remarried though. His new Queen was a vain and wicked woman, though she kept this side of her well hidden from the King. The Huntsman was thankful that the Queen's desire to maintain appearances before the King kept her in check. Between how she acted when her husband wasn't around and the cruel jealousy with which she eyed Snow White, the Huntsman dreaded to think what life would be like if the King wasn't around to give the Queen pause.

And then the King passed away.

With her husband dead, there was no longer anything holding the Queen back. And so it was that she ran roughshod over all who drew her ire. Snow White in particular was a common subject of the Queen's wickedness. The Queen dressed her stepdaughter in rags and forced Snow White to work as a scullery maid. The only reason the servants did not turn against the Queen for her treatment of Snow White was that she was relatively merciful to the princess and that Snow White herself took no issue with the change of attire and her new duties... Or at least, these were the only official reasons. Behind the scenes, the Queen had also extended the Huntsman's duties and made him painfully aware of the penalty if he failed. After a few of the louder dissenting voices fell silent, the remaining servants quickly fell in line.

And such was how life went on... until now.

I wish... to be free of the Queen and her terrible commands.

A beast raised in a desolate land,
Not wanting to follow his Mother's plan.
No longer accepted by the pride or home,
He now wanders into the great unknown.

Name: Kovu

Character Sheet: myth-weavers.com/sheet.html#id=2801513
Stat/Dice Rolls: roleplayerguild.com/campaigns/1038

Appearance: [Picture coming eventually...]

Kovu is a young adult Leonin standing a little short of six feet tall. Sleek yet powerful built of a predator that sneak about before pouncing and kill prey instantly. His body is covered in brown fur with pale cream patches on his muzzle, paws, and underbelly. His mane is a dark brown color, and rests on the top of his chest. He has piercing green eyes and a hooked feline nose. He has a scar across his left eye that appears to be a recent injury.

Kovu wears a set of leather armor and a dark brown hooded cape.

Personality: Kovu is arrogant Leonin, who was raise to believe he was better than others. He tends to boast about his abilities and compare his greatness to others. Despite his natural smugness, he actually not guarded when it comes to meeting and befriending those that are different than him. Openly trying to get to know and understand them rather than stand above. He can become quite friendly and helpful to those he believes to be a comrade. It might be the sense of loneliness after his exile that make so willing. He has a habit of seeing things darker and more violent than most, so he is a little more on edge even in peaceful settings. While he'll be accepting to most, he has a hard time fully trusting others knowing how easy it is for someone to take advantage of that trust and use it for their benefit.

Backstory: It was decided when Kovu was born that he would be the heir of the pride after Scar despite not being his son. That was a short-lived ambition as Simba soon returned and regained the throne. His family and all those still loyal to Scar were banished to the Outlands. From there on his mother Zira raised him to hate the Pride Landers, especially the royal, for taking away what was rightfully his. He was trained hard to fight as well as how to survive. Kovu never had the opportunity to be just a cub and have fun. Then that Pride Lander cub appeared in front of him. He taunted and boast trying to prove his superiority. Yet her arrogance and odd behavior stirred something inside of him. After the brave scramble away from a pack of crocodiles that left him impressed, he wanted to be her friend. Though with the bad blood between the Pride Lander and Outlanders still strong, Kovu and Kiara were promptly separated. His mother came up with a terrible scheme.

For years Kovu was trained to be a cold-blooded killer whose sole goal was to kill Simba and take the throne. He trained diligently under his mother's anticipating eye. All the anger and hate buried the once understanding and adventurous cub that he once was, leaving a calculating and manipulative Leonin. Then came the time of Kiara's first hunt and the beginning of Zira's plan: a "natural" disaster that put her in danger and the poor young cast-out Outlander lion that saved her life. The scheme worked perfectly, and Kovu was allowed to stay in the Pride Land. It would be just a matter of time before he caught Simba unexpectedly and killed him. Or at least it was supposed to be like that. Kiara involved herself with him. The time they spent together slowly loosened the chains of hate and anger that bonded him.

Kovu started questioning his mission that he trained his entire life to accomplish. Just as he was about to confess, Zira and the rest of the Outlander pride ambushed Simba and falsely accused him of helping with it. A scruffle that cost his older brother his life, and Kovu was no longer welcome in the Outlands. His plead of innocence to a furious Simba fell on deaf ears, and he was also exile from the Pridelands as well. With nowhere else to go... he wandered into unknown landscape.

I wish... to prove my trustworthiness to the Pride and reunite with Kiara.

Lies that turn into truth
With cunning and courage he knew
Though not the dragon he claims to be
Perhaps a hero is what he needs

Name: Shi Long

Character Sheet: myth-weavers.com/sheet.html#id=2801779
Stat/Dice Rolls: roleplayerguild.com/campaigns/717

Appearance:

Personality: A bit two-faced and a schemer, Shi Long seems to have a hard time acting honestly and feels far more comfortable living a lie and posturing than revealing how much he cares about others and how he can help them. Having lived a long life providing strength and wisdom for others he's gotten a bit too used to being highly respected, but also carrying the stress and burden of shouldering everyone's problems onto his own shoulders. The type of person who feels responsible for things he had no clue about, for many he can seem self-centered and like an egomaniac. But if you can look past his negative traits, you'd find a friendly spirit who really just wants to help. He may claim to be a smart and cunning dragon, but his heart is bigger than his brains.

Backstory: Shi Long is the guardian of the Fa family, long ago when their ancestors were still nomads hunting and gathering. He was curious about these humans and watched them. Most fight among themselves, stealing and hurting one another, but the Fa family were kind even to those who had less than them. They took care of each other and even total strangers, but were not afraid to fight even against bigger and stronger foes, and often still somehow scrap by. Seeing their valor and honor up close, Shi Long decided to help them. But back then, he was naught but a spirit who didn't even have a physical form. But learning from the Fa family, Shi Long learned how to use his smarts over his strength.

Having a primordial knowledge of nature, he would accompany the Fa clan and helped them in minor ways, such as making sure their fires didn't go out or keeping their food safe from bugs and vermin. When trouble would arise instead of fight, he would provide a helpful light that would show the Fa family safe passage, or ways to reach their enemies weak points. Over time the Fa family grew bigger and gained more esteem, eventually gathering more spirits who would come to their aid. When the Fa family's ancestors became spirits themselves, they offered their gratitude to Shi Long, ensuring their descendants honored him as much as they honored their dead. But there was one small detail the Fa family misunderstood.

They thought Shi Long was a dragon. He was not. He was a Xian, a fey spirit who's power were leagues below that of a dragon. Yet the Fa Family treated him with as much veneration as a dragon, something that certainly made Shi Long happy, but worried that he could not do more for the clan than what he already has done. But not wanting to disappoint these people who looked up to him, Shi Long embraced the role of a dragon, and had the Fa family create an effigy of him: the Great Stone Dragon.

For the humans, this was little more than an art piece, meant only to symbolize who he was. But for Shi Long, he had helped the masons gather the stones he needed to turn this stone statue into a vessel for him to inhabit, so that when the Fa family needed him most, he could help them not just with minor chores, but through his actions as well. For many generations to come whenever the Fa family or their ancestors needed aid, the Great Stone Dragon was there to help them, ready to provide guidance or protecting as needed. The Fa family of course were still as strong and brave as they were since ancient times, so they did not need his help often, but when they did Shi Long did everything in his power and more to help them.

For many generations, Shi Long has watched over the Fa family, protecting them in times of peace and war. But recently, something... Strange was afoot. A sense of dejavu, familiarity as if he had seen what has happened in a dream of sorts. And after meeting some long lost acquaintances, Shi Long knew something was amiss. Something that would no doubt affect the Fa Family, and possibly in ways that he cannot solve himself. Driven by fear and worry, Shi Long suddenly departed from his ancestral home, even leaving behind his stone vessel, to investigate this strange feeling and hopefully, prevent it from ever reaching his family.

"In a land of dragons,
one hero is called.
Where war was waged,
beyond a Great Wall."

Name: Captain Li Shang

Appearance

Stats & Abilities

Personality:
On the surface, Shang appears to be stern and disciplined. He puts on the face of a confident, tough-as-nails soldier. But all that pride and no-nonsense attitude is just an exterior. Underneath all that is a young who often feels in over his head and has no idea how to deal with that or even how to ask for help. He wouldn't want to risk bringing dishonor to his family after all.

Backstory:
The son of General Li, Head of the Wuhou Imperial Army - Shang was groomed from a young age to take up the sword and become a soldier. And Shang was quite talented, consistently staying at the top of his class in tactical training and military affairs. This combined with an "impressive military lineage" that his father was quite proud of, all but guaranteed Shang an officer's rank. That chance came when the Hun Army invaded Wuhou. At the outset of the war, General Li appointed Shang as Captain and left him in charge of training the newly conscripted troops until Chi-Fu - the Emperor's Council - believed them ready to join the war effort.

The men Shang had been assigned proved rowdy and difficult to train. And one of them - Fa Ping - proved especially difficult to train. Shang was even ready to send Ping home until the latter gritted his teeth and finally started making progress. This seemed to trigger a cascade among the men. From that point on, the training went smoothly and quickly. And although Chi-Fu had his reservations, the camp was given an urgent request for reinforcements at the front lines. And So Shang and his men went on the march.

This time in the story, Shang and his men were able to successfully reach the encampment in time to save the life of General Li in addition to some his men and the village itself. Another change in the story was that the ambush in the mountains never came, due to the cannon never being fired by accident. This allowed the remains of the Wuhou Army to regroup in the Imperial City. There they would have to settle in and defend the palace against a siege by the Huns. It was a long and grueling effort, but eventually Ping got the idea to use fireworks as a way to hide where their cannons were being fired from. With this they were able to whittle down the Hun Army until only the elites remained. In the midst of the battle, Ping was injured and had to be rescued by General Li while Shang held off the final assault by Shan Yu.

In the aftermath, the war was won. Ping was revealed to be a woman named Mulan. And although their laws demanded that she pay the price for impersonating a soldier, her actions were what largely led to their victory. And so in his wisdom, the Emperor granted Fa Mulan a full pardon and honored her, in addition to Shang, as heroes of Wuhou. Mulan left Wuhou on what she said would be a short journey, but never returned. Worried about what fate may have befallen her, Shang slipped away from his duties and also left Wuhou in order to try and find the missing Mulan.

"I wish... to bring my family honor. And to find out whether I was meant for more than just a soldier's lot."

“A warrior and healer alike
once shielded by a bright light
sets out to find a cure
for the isolation she had to endure”

Name: Kidagakash Nedakh

Kida's DND sheet
Stats rolled

Appearance:

Personality:
Kida is a curios personality. Hundreds of years ago, it is said she would have killed outsiders on the spot. But since then, her heart has softened, her mind has grown and her curiosity has peaked. Nowadays, Kida can extend her deep compassion she has for her own people to strangers as well, though she will always be somewhat reserved in their presence. She doesn't trust easily, especially when it comes to questions about herself or her place of origin, the sunken city Atlantis. She'd rather ask a hundred questions a minute without revealing a single word about herself. Kida can at times seems like an energetic bundle, almost child-like, while in other instances she will become calm, serious, calculated and controlled. This is a direct reflection of the youth and old age that battle within her. Following her religion, Kida strongly believes in the protection of all life. She will stray from killing if there's any other means to solve the problem. She has a deep spiritual connection to the Heart of Atlantis and her devotion to her faith and people is unshakable.

Backstory:
When Kida was just a child, she witnessed the destruction of Atlantis. The fraction of the city that didn't get destroyed was protected by the Heart of Atlantis, which pulled power from Kida's mother to safe the city. Ever since that moment, Atlantis has been washed away from the surface, seemingly forgotten and forever hidden.

The Atlanteans tried for some while to find a way to the surface but it was to no avail. And so they soon got used to their isolated but protected life. It is safe to say that Kida has not been met with much disagreement, hatred or diversity in her life, given her position and Atlantis' situation. Kida grew up generally beloved but with a heavy burden put on her shoulder. The older she grew, the weaker the Heart of Atlantis was beginning to get. Though the royal family shielded their citizens from the truth, Kida knew their power was waning. She tried many years to talk to her father and change his mind, to let her venture out to find a way to restore Atlantis to it's former glory, to find help because otherwise their people would begin to die.

With the king's health deteriorating fast and his death bed approaching, Kida became desperate. In her desire to safe her father, she set out to find the Heart of Atlantis and ask for guidance. When she finally deciphered where the Heart was hidden, Kida approached the Heart, knelt and prayed for guidance. The Heart responded in kind; Kida awoke in a different land with different customs. She is determined to find out what this means and how this new place can help Atlantis and safe her father.

I wish. . . to safe my father and bring Atlantis back to the surface so it can thrive once more.

“Born wishing for a better life,
He would fight and toil and go through strife,
Now a made man he still yet thirsts,
For to live forever is his chosen curse.”

Name:
David Xanatos

Rolled Stats:
Rolled this. Didn’t like it so I used the standard stat array instead.

Character Sheet:
Link to Mythweavers.

Appearance:

Standing at an even six foot, David is a little taller than most men one would find. With deeply tanned skin, a gift from his father being from Chora, David is conventionally attractive. His hazel eyes sparkle in the moonlight, while his dark brown hair is kept in an immaculate pony-tail, as is his beard which is perfectly trimmed. While generally dressing extravagantly, David has changed his attire since departing on his quest. Now he wears a set of dark leather armor as a base, covered with a nice dress shirt and pants. On the top layer is a large brown jacket, which goes all the way from David’s shoulders to his leather boots.

Personality:
David is a driven individual, always having some kind of plan in mind. He can go quite stir crazy if he’s not actively doing something and as such will make sure that his days are chock full of activities. At first meeting David appears to be a sociable man, able to get along with anyone, making them feel good. But this is actually years of practice, David having figured out how people work by purposefully making the transformation from fisherman to businessman. David has become quite good at manipulating people, often playing along several people at once, making them do what he wants.

However this mastermind type of life has left David with few real friends or people that matter to him. He is estranged from his father, he hasn’t been able to maintain a romantic relationship, and he just ends up using most people he meets. This has left him with a sense of emptiness in his life, one that he has tried to fill with many things. Wealth, status, renown, none were enough for David. That is until his current obsession of living forever came about. David wishes to become a living legend, a piece of history that all future generations could not ignore.

Backstory:
Born the son of Petros Xanatos, a poor fisherman, David had an unremarkable childhood. His father had left an island near Chora for a better life in the Americas. And yet he remained poor there, spending his day fishing along the eastern coast. From a young age David proved bright, and he dreamed of making something of himself, something to be remembered.

David would struggle against the limits of the fishing village he lived in. He wished to leave and do better things, but he had not the money needed for such a trip. That was until he was a teenager, when a mysterious courier gave him a package. In said package was a single gold coin, but what was special about the coin was its age. Dating thousands of years back, this coin was worth a fortune. Immediately nosy neighbors began watching David, wanting to see what he did with the coin.

David would decide to disappear one night, using what funds he had saved to make the trip to the big city. Once there, David looked for a potential buyer of his coin. While several people were interested, David was a fierce barter and would not settle for anything but the best. When he did finally sell the coin, David used his monetary windfall to start his own company.

As David aged, his company grew, eventually becoming known as the Xanatos Trading Company. And even with his wealth, David felt not at peace. While it seemed that his company would outlast him, David became obsessed with immortality. Researching as many magical texts as he could get his hands on, David eventually believing that such a thing existed in Camelot.

Crossing the ocean, David would arrive in the less civilized northern part of Camelot. However, due to time magic situations, David would never find the Magus’s Tome and as such wouldn’t learn of the cursed Gargoyles of Wyvern Clan. Instead David would learn of Avalon, a mysterious island of the coast of Camelot that may actually be its own plane.

David would spend years trying to find Avalon, until he met a man named Owen Mercer. David would quickly deduce that Owen was in fact the Fey known as Puck. Eventually, Puck would take David to Avalon where he met the Fey King Oberon. After proving his intentions to Oberon, David was offered a choice, become immortal now or gain the power of Oberon and control over Puck. In a moment of ego, David believed that he could find his own way of becoming immortal and thus chose the second option.

In making this choice, David was bonded to Oberon, gaining his power, but also a duty to help him when called. David and Puck would then depart Avalon and head back to the Americas. With his new Fey-powered Warlock abilities, David would set off on a quest to find his own way of becoming immortal, leaving Puck, in the Owen Mercer identity, in charge of Xanatos Trading Company.

I wish…that I could live forever, be a part of all of history.
