Deaik kicked the wolf away and sprang to his feet, drawing his knife. He slashed at Jaden, the strike aiming to kill. He doubted he'd miss, but there was never any guarantee he'd land the hit.

Jaden rolled a few feet, the strike going through his shoulder. He yelped rather loudly, now pissed off. He changed forms again, the cut remaining as it was. He was now a much more powerful black leopard. He stayed behind Richter to a point, being in his injured state and much weaker now. Along with his probably broken ribs from Richter, it seemed a wonder he was still standing.

Jaden finally noticed the girl watching him and frowned, well, frowned as well as a fly can frown. He flew closer to Bee, but the girl stepped in front of his path, crashing straight into her shoulder and turning human.

"Damnit! Get out of my way, girl!" He snapped; she turned.

She was beautiful, with her light skin gleaming in the light, perfectly accented by her dark hair. Her sea-blue eyes were the only part of her face visible, as her lower face was covered by a black mask. Jaden could see a scar running up the sides of her face.

"Would such a pretty boy like to get a drink with me?"

Bee is finished singing and dancing and was landing when suddenly a loud gunshot was heard, the bullet going through her wing and lodging onto her shoulder, her mane and tail turning white. Pain. As she dropped.

"SHIT!" Zi knew he didn't have enough resources to both help Bee and catch the shooter. He went with the option that most likely would end badly: catch the shooter. He saw somebody running and gave chase.

Jaden heard the gunshot and immediately "vanished." Okay, well, he turned into a nat and flew away.

Whisper Bea


Whisper noticed Zi giving chase and sprinting up to the stage, forgetting Jaden for the moment. She caught Bee and set her carefully on the ground, taking a roll of bandages out from her pocket. While this did reveal her gun, the weapon was still locked safely in its holster. Whisper hadn't been the shooter. She took out a dagger and paused.

"I have to get the bullet out. This is going to hurt, okay?" She studied Bee's face, not wanting to add to the sudden pain. At least the small warning might help.

She nodded, breathing heavily, not knowing who this girl was but just wanting the pain to stop, the bullet had been laced with poison.

The poison was slower than it should have been, thanks to an enchantment Zi had put on Bee- without her knowing, mind you- at one point. He slipped through the door and after the shooter.

Whisper dug the blade into Bee's shoulder, fishing around for a moment before getting the bullet and pulling it out. There might be fragments left over, but the bullet was mostly intact. The dagger hadn't gone deep so she was able to withdraw both it and the bullet with surprising ease; she'd done this before, clearly. She bandaged the wound quickly, scanning the area. Maybe all that FBI/CIA training in her past life wasn't so useless after all. She pulled Bee to her feet, half dragging her backstage, where they'd be safer.

Zi soon lost the shooter and returned to the party, slipping backstage. He was mad at himself for not noticing the threat and letting Bee get hurt. He went to Bee, pushing Whisper away and putting his hand to the bandages as he used his magic to draw out the poison. He could take on a variety of poisons without getting killed and the one used was no different. He glared at Whisper as he did so. "Care to fill me in on who you are, lady?" He snapped at Whisper.

Whisper stumbled, her hand going by default to her knife. She held her hands up, scowling at Zi. "Care to thank me for saving your ward's life first?" She retorted. God. Aggressive much? She thought bitterly. This was off to a bad start. She'd just saved Bee's life, and the guard was being pissy.
