The Mutes were a part of everyday culture. They were our neighbors, our friends, even our family. The Mutes had been around as long as anyone could remember. Hell, they had been around as long as history could remember. There were ancient Roman sculptures, thousands of year old Egyptian stones with hieroglyphs, even cave drawings of them. Turns out the Mute gene was probably in our system from the very beginning. But with these Mutes around, the world grew up hard.

Most of them fit in fine with society. Some even excelled, using their powers to whatever advantage they could. But this is not a story about those people. As always there were those that just couldn't quite make it work. The rebels, rulebreakers, and pyschos. So when the Mutes got out of line, the world needed some place to put them (usually for a more than extended duration). A place locked up far away from sight. A place where they could forget they existed.

A place like Sirocco.

Sirocco was an undisclosed prison lost from the world in middle of blazing hot desert. As one of the only Mute prison's in the world it was locked down with some of the toughest prison guards, that kept everyone on a stringent schedule. There are no real rules out in Sirocco. So anyone caught pushing their luck will be at the full mercy of the guards. Ontop of that the Captain is said to be one of the most ruthless men. Some rumors have even stated he may be a Mute, after all there are a few Mute guards.

Tomorrow, is the rare shipment of fresh-meat. New inmates freshly processed from the system. After being drugged, they'll wake up changing into their prison uniforms on the bus, with their specially equipped SkyPulse neckbands. Note: Skypulse neckbands are made of a nano-tech Mute polymer that adapts to the Mute they are currently attached to. They can stretch in any size, or any shape necessary, and adapt to many special circumstances. Depending on the power level of the Mute they can dampen to completely limit the ability to use powers. They also provide a nice incentivizing shock when powers get too out of hand, or when any guard feels particularly trigger happy.

Powers come in 6 levels. The higher the level the more rare it is and the more Skypulse neckbands will limit the power ability or lower the threshold for shocking treatment (depending on the specific power).

White: Indistinguishable from the average human except at a biological level. Essentially just carried the Mute gene.
Blue: The most basic level, and typically the most common. Not considered a general threat.
Yellow: Moderate ability. Not very threatening.
Orange: Threatening ability. To be kept on high alert.
Red: Very threatening. To be kept on close guard.
Purple: Extreme threat. Do not let out of sight at any time. Some of these powers are still not fully understood.

Okay here we go. I've never GMed before but I couldn't find a RP I wanted to join so here I am!

The way I see this is basically a modern day jail RP with superpowers. I like realistic stuff so limitations are obviously in order to keep anyone's powers from getting too out of hand. You can be an existing inmate, a prison guard, an incoming fresh-meat. Happy to have someone play the prison Captain aswell.

Currently I'm in the process of being homeless and having a place? Life happened and here we are. I'm homeless as in I don't have anywhere to put my roots. In a hotel. So no need to worry. I am hoping to be in a new place within a week or two.

Character concept
I would like to have either a white Evo type. White that can become more powerful either over time, with use, or by absorption.

Purple because power.

Character comes from a mutas only type family. Imagine if Hitler were a mutas. That is his father. However, he is able to somehow hide the fact. It's probably into politics. Threw his son under the bus to keep his standing. Probably actually threw him under a bus. The man is unhinged.

Depending on power scale I'm allowed, the story as to why changes. If he started with white power then his father views him as a nonmuta. If the power is purple then it has more to do with his political position and possibly a way to toughen up his son.

Anyway it's just a rough concept. I will probably come up with a list of family, friends, political connections, and so on. That is if I have time to make the character and if it is accepted.

Hey there! Just wanted to pin my interest here, as well as throw in a rough idea for a character.

Idea: Character would probably be fresh meat for the prison, of either Orange or Red. Ability would be something along the lines of her body producing an ink-like substance that forms a vague animal-ish form around her body, which uses her human body as the core within the ink body. Would probably be triggered by stress or something, and completely loses control whenever it is active, acting mainly on instinct. She doesn't necessarily has a means of 'controlling it' but could delay the change for a period of time if she focuses all her attention to it. She would most likely be put in the prison as being a general danger to society due to her utter lack of control over her ability and how dangerous it could be, and after being secured from a failed operation of a mafia or some other group that was taking advantage of her ability.

Rough idea, but some feedback would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks @Poleski79 for the invite! I missed out joining the other RP in time, but keeping an eye on it and certainly interested here as im wanting to get fully into the swing of RP'ing more. I will save one character which is a Atmokinetic. At the very least for if the other RP comes back although everything i have listed i pretty much have a character for i could adapt.

I have several character ideas. Such as a Psionic Manipulator which was like a Alpha threat in the grading of the other RP, so I guess that could be like orange/red to potential future Purple. Another concept I have is a Pyrokinetic that i also think would be around orange/red as flames are dangerous haha, a Ferromagnetism/Electromagnetism character. I even have an concept for a Thermokinetic Cryokinetic and an idea for a technology manipulator.

Alot there i know but most of these are made and pretty much list what they can do and potentially do but also have limitations with them :)

General note: I'm going to limit the purple class to 1 character for now, maybe 2 if I really see some good ones. So if you really want the purple slot, get your sheet in ASAP

@Aqutanama love the idea of a white mutant that gets stronger over time. Could be a nice subversion of expectations. Would have to come with some appropriate limitations of course, especially if it involves absorption. Id probably downscale from Hitler to like local higher-up government official, or something. Probably not a nation leader

@EchoWolff glad to hear your thinking of fresh meat. That'll give a good introduction to the prison. I like the idea of the tattoo like powers. 1 note is you'll probably want to add a downside outside of it just being hard to control. Also since they would be in prison there has to be some way to control her, like with the SkyPulse neckbands. My character Liv for example has tracking explosives implanted in her, to keep track of her location, so they can control her despite not being able to control where she goes.

@Damo021 lot of cool idea there. Im always partial to a good pyro or electro character. As long as it has a good weakness I'm game with any of these really

This RP is comparable in setting to the prior one. Not too worried about adapting my old character to fit this one. Given that the old GM has been MIA for almost 6 months, I'm not sure the RP will start back up.

An old perverted sadist. Fuck yes @Eviledd1984! Sounds like a dope character. Love the hint at a war. Im sure in this universe there's been a bunch of tension between humans and mutants.

Heres my only condition. Right now hes got 2 powers, which would definitely rank him as purple and seems just a little OP. Since @EchoWolff character already has something along the lines of shapeshifting, I think it would make a lot more sense to just lean into the telepathy. This would give you a better opportunity to really focus on this power, and bring out all the fun unique situations with it. This power also just seems to fit really well with the character.

Okay, I can remove the shapeshifting ability. Perhaps I can remove the telepathy and give him the power to create illusions? Or would that be too OP? Or I was thinking even invisibility which would work with pretty good for a serial killer.
