"That's no problem. I can get the two of you seated right now and started with some drinks or appetizers while you wait for the rest of your party." Kali explained to the two guests. "Unless you'd rather wait for them to arrive first?" She continued, pausing as she waited for a response from them.

As she waited to serve the guests, however, all hell seemed to break loose instantly. The loud, noisy sound of clashing and shouting came forth from the kitchen, causing Kali to look towards the kitchen window to see what might've been happening. After all, chaos in the kitchen was unusual. Issac took great care of his restaurant, and so such a display worried Kali. His yelling for her only further confirmed her worries.

"One moment, please." Kali explained, placing the menus back down on the server's podium before hurrying back to the kitchen for whatever Issac had yelled for.

Becker chuckled lightly. "You're not alone there. Gym class can be rough."

As she continued her work, Kaitlyn approached, looking between Becker and the student.

Before Becker could respond, her phone buzzed with a text from her partner, accompanied by a video. They had just moved the body to the hospital's morgue, and the body bag was starting to move on its own.

Becker's eyes widened in disbelief. She forced herself to be realistic and logical, but the inkling of what might be happening kept creeping back into her thoughts, after all that's happened so far. Something was wrong, and she needed to get to the bottom of it. Her instincts told her that whatever was going on at the morgue was connected to the chaos here at the school. But then again she could be wrong.

haking off her unease, she turned to Kaitlyn. "Actually, yes. Could you keep an eye on her for a moment?" she asked, indicating the student. "I need to check something quick."

Kaitlyn nodded, and Becker quickly dialed her partner's number. "Dave, it's Becker. I just saw your video. Secure the area, call security, and don't open the bag."

She hung up and turned back to Kaitlyn and the student. "Thanks for helping out," with a sigh, she said to Kaitlyn. "Anyway, what's going on here? Are there any more people who need help?"

Hannah turned to stare at Hermes. "You want me to get out and end up getting chewed on by your dead boyfriend's chew toy?" Hannah said glaring at her friend, the zombified teacher continued to slowly bang on the back of the car. Blood smearing over the rear window and trunk of the car. Hannah's heart was racing as she stared at Mandy, she really didn't want to leave the safety of the car at all one bit now she didn't want to become some dead person's meal. "Drive please!" She begged she would have to go back to her parent's place at some point she knew but right now she was safe with her friend.

"Yeah sure thing." Kaitlyn said to Becker as she sat down next to the girl while looking over at some of the other students, and checked to see if their injuries were bad. "Gotcha boss. Stay safe, and text if you need me." Dave said over the phone once Becker had given him her instructions on what to do and quickly hung up. Kaitlyn made sure that the students were all okay when Becker had approached her asking if other students needed help and what had happened.

"Class was just starting, and one of the students had encountered a student had attacked the gym teacher, the student didn't look right at all and was sickly looking or something like that. The student who had seen it caught everyone else's attention, the security guard came in and tried to see what happend. I took the student who witnessed it towards the nurse' office to get him checked out, then the security guard came in with a bite from what I saw, and then the evacuation started." Kaitlyn answered Becker's questions pretty much all of the students had been evacuated and she had lost sight of Hermes and the car that he was in, all the while teachers were doing their headcount now.

"I'm doing pretty good thank you for asking." The driver said as he continued to drive, he noticed a number of police and ambulance cars were driving by sirens blaring as well to. "Never seen this much emergency personnel this active since 9/11." The driver said as he continued to drive the car, having lived in the city for a long time he had seen it happen and that day was very chaotic. The drive took a few minutes and driving through New York traffic was always a bit of a pain, eventually they were at the Twin Seasons now. "Here you go ma'am, stay safe out there and have a good day." He told her giving Verity a friendly smile.

"I can take care of them, go ahead and help out in back." One of the waitresses said to Kali as she picked up the menus and waved the two to follow her towards an opened booth. In the back Jeff was leaning against the prep table holding a bloodied arm Isaac turned to look at Kali as she came into the kitchen. "Help with Jeff." Isaac said as he could be seen struggling a bit along with one of the other kitchen staff could be seen getting the other crew member who had bitten by Jeff over towards the walk-in freezer. Jeff didn't look good at all as he winced slightly holding his arm blood could be seen. "The fucker bit me like a rabid animal." Jeff told Kali.

Flynn's attention was still on the kitchen, he couldn't see the chaos that was unfolding back there really as he noticed that their waitress had been called into the back. "I wonder whats happening back there." Flynn's friend said as he looked back at him, today was certainly not normal at all really. "I dunno." Flynn said while looking at his friend, and wondered if it was something that had happened back at the cafe just moments before.

Mandy didn't hear Hannah, but she saw Hermes' insistent "drive." So she did. The car had been on, so it didn't take much to put it into gear and get out of there. "CAT!" She yelled, actually vocalizing, since she was distracted driving. And with the hand that held the kitten, she shoved it at Hermes.

There was no way the kitten wouldn't be upset about it, but she wanted both hands to drive. Holding the kitten hadn't been the best idea to drive under normal circumstances, but it was a chill-friendly kitten. She did have a carrier for it, but that was in the back in a bag. She'd transfer the kitten to it if needed.

Now that she had a free hand though she signed "What happened?"

"Jesus Christ." Kali commented, aghast at the situation.

As Kali walked into the kitchen, she soon saw that it was a nightmare-in-the-making. Everything was falling into chaos. Pots, pans and other cooking equipment were strewn about the kitchen. Issac and one of her fellow co-workers were busy trying to "wrangle" Tobias, one of the restaurant's employees, while Jeff had a savage bite wound on his arm. Jeff swore Tobias had bit him like a rabid animal, and by the sound of the struggle nearby, it seemed Tobias was still hungry for more.

For a moment, Kali felt her body seize at the sight of everything. Her thoughts fried themselves as she tried to process the scene in an attempt to produce a rational explanation from the chaos. Had this been related to the sickness that was reported elsewhere in the world? Kali hadn't known; she wasn't one to pay too much attention to the news outside the basics such as the weather. She snuck a quick glance towards the commotion across the room, but the struggle made it difficult to tell anything from where she stood.

Regardless if it was related or not, however, she still needed to take care of Jeff.

"F-Fuck, uh," Kali uttered, snapping herself back into action. "Let me go find the first aid kit." She continued, taking off towards where the first-aid station was located with hope that the kit would have the proper supplies to treat the wound—at least long enough to get Jeff to a hospital.

Verity's mind was elsewhere, though she also noticed the number of police and ambulances. What was going on? It must be something in the water making people act particularly crazy today. Finally, they pulled up to the cafe. "You too. Thank you." She got out and looked around. This was not her choice of locale for an interview. She would have preferred a nice restaurant with a Michelin star or something similar.

Be that as it may, she still went in. Once inside she sensed...what. Something happening? Some people's attention was directed towards the back. She looked around to see if her interviewer was there yet. Assured that they weren't she made her way to an open booth. No one had greeted her and perhaps they were too busy.

As she sat down she took out her phone to check for messages, seeing none. She started to scroll through the News app on her phone. Considering what she had seen so far, surely there was something more going on.

Becker absorbed Kaitlyn's explanation, her concern deepening with every word. The mention of a sickly student attacking others, and especially the bite, sent alarm bells ringing in her mind. It matched too closely with Dave's unsettling video from the morgue. Something strange was definitely happening, and it was spreading quickly.

Becker quickly responded to Dave, “Stay on high alert. I’ve got a bad feeling about this. Keep me posted if anything else happens.” She sent one last text and turned her attention back to Kaitlyn and the injured students.

"Alright, thanks for the rundown," Becker said, trying to keep her tone calm and reassuring despite the worry gnawing at her. "Let's make sure we don't miss anyone who needs help. I’ll check in with the teachers about the headcount and see if anyone else needs medical attention."

She glanced around the scene, spotting teachers conducting headcounts. "If we can, let's start by ensuring no one is left behind. We need to make sure all students and staff are accounted for and treat any remaining injuries. If anyone shows signs of illness or unusual behavior, we need to separate them and get medical attention immediately."

Becker moved closer, while patching up the student's wounds, she couldn't help but let out a nervous laugh despite her determination. "This feels like a scene out of a horror movie. Are we dreaming, or is the world ending?" She shook her head, trying to push the thought away, but the worry lingered in her eyes.

” Obviously I don't want you becoming Coach Chow. I was just saying you maybe a little tact next time, though it appears your timing was impeccable given the new guest we have trying to enter into this car.” Hermes spoke, not bothering to sign it as it was all intended towards Hannah. He hadn't expected his cousin to talk, let alone shove a cat into his arms, so the suddenly noise had him jump slightly in his seat before realizing there was a small bundle of fur now tucked into one of his arms. Signing was about to get a bit more complicated with a cat in arms, especially with his cousin asking for details. He'd expected to go over them during lunch, but now seemed the right time.

”I was at school, heading to my gym class, when as I started to get ready, I heard some sounds. Thinking a student got hurt, I went to check it out and saw tons of blood and our Coach, the man who attacked our car just now, dead on the floor. The kid seemed to be extremely hungry, lunging at anything that moved.”

He tried his best to sign what had happened, slowing down at some parts as he tried to gather his thoughts into one place. When he finally stopped, he allowed his free hand to pet the kitten absentmindedly.

@Trainerblue192@Kirah The kitten would let out a little meow as Mandy shoved it over into Hermes arms, it's little green eyes looking up at him and meowed again. It suddenly had interest in Hermes' arms and hands while he signed to Mandy what had happened at the school and started to play and bat at his arms. "You were so totally wanting to feed me to the coach man." Hannah said trying to make a light joke about what had happened. Both Hermes and Mandy would get a text from their family group chat, which was Mandy's father checking in on them. "Is everything okay?" Was what the text was, he figured trying to reach Mandy wasn't a good idea when driving so texted it in the group chat hoping Hermes would answer. As Mandy continued to drive she would see more police and other emergency vehicles were responding else where by the looks of it.

Becker would receive a text from Dave rather quickly. "Things are getting really crazy here right now, a lot of first responders are being called in on other locations. Some are saying that the National Guard is being mobilized now." Dave's text said, Kaitlyn listened to Becker as she stood up and started to ask some of the other teachers on the headcount as she looked about the area. One of the teachers an older looking man in his mid or late fifties looked over at Becker and had a list. "We have most of the students all accounted for right now, mostly just minor scrabs and bruises." He told Becker, when Kaitlyn could hear a very loud scream and turned to see where it was coming from.

It was the zombified coach and Elio had had managed to get out and started to try and attack other students, there were a few officers that were on the scene who had their weapons drawn. They were ordering the two of them to stand down, but they weren't doing following the orders, the students were quickly getting away and were getting behind the cops. "What is going on right now?" Kaitlyn asked as she looked over at Becker the other remaining officers on the scene were getting teachers and students to move further back and were helping some of the injured getting up to.

After trying to get a view into the kitchen on what was actually happening the interviewer for Verity turned and spotted her coming in and taking a seat and quickly waved her over. While Verity was looking over the phone she would see on the news that the Govenor for New York was mobilizing the National Guard for the New York City and Manhattan areas. "Over here Miss Holmes." They said getting her attention, she would spot Flynn and his friend nearby as well to. When Flynn looked over to see who had just came in, and quietly let out a loud groan as he could see her and quickly avoided and looked away the struggle could still be heard throughout the restaurant on what was happening in the back.

For Kali in the kitchen, she would be able to find the first aide kit mounted up onto the wall, it was restocked once a week by a nurse nearby. Luckily Isaac had ordered a resupply the day before and refilled it inside there was just about everything from gauze to handages, to burn cream and a small suture kit was inside it as well to.

Jeff looked like he was in a lot of pain as he leaned up against the wall nearby but he looked stable for now. Isaac and the other kitchen worker had managed to shove Tobias into the freezer and closed it shut, Isaac took the lock that was nearby he quickly locked it keeping Tobias inside. The two of them looked like they were very worn out after the sudden struggle.

Driving and signing, or watching the passenger sign, is a knack. A skill most Deaf people learn really quickly. Mandy had grown up with both parents signing all the time in the car so it wasn't anything new for her. She could keep an eye on the road and Hermes' hands. It helped that he was a slow signer too.

"So, they are cannibals?" Mandy asks confused. She fingerspells the word cannibal, figuring 'man eating' or other combinations of signs she could come up with would probably be confusing to Hermes. She made sure to fingerspell slowly. "But you said dead, how is he walking?" She adds, this question is signed more quickly.

Mandy sees her phone flashlight flash, letting her know she has a text, but she certainly isn't going to look at it right now. At least it is close to home and she can look at it there. She does frown at all the emergency vehicles around.

"You should let your parents know who you are with, and that you are okay." Mandy adds, waving to Hannah to let her know she means her.

Becker’s mind raced as she absorbed Dave’s message. National Guard being mobilized? This was escalating fast. She took a deep breath and looked around, assessing the chaotic scene.

Just then, a loud scream pierced the air. Becker's head snapped towards the sound, eyes widening as she saw the zombified coach and Elio causing chaos. Officers had their weapons drawn, but the two weren't responding to commands, instead continuing their attack on the students.

"Stay behind me!" Becker called out to Kaitlyn and the others as she positioned herself defensively. She quickly assessed the situation, seeing the students being herded behind the officers.

"Alright, stay focused," she muttered to herself, then turned to Kaitlyn. "Stay with the teachers and help manage the students. Keep everyone calm and as far back as possible," she instructed.

She quickly moved towards the officers, who were trying to control the situation with the zombified coach and Elio, and saw the fear and confusion in the officers' eyes. "We need to contain them without risking the students," she said, her voice firm. She grabbed a nearby megaphone from one of the officers and addressed the crowd of students and teachers.

"Everyone, stay calm and move back in an orderly fashion! Help each other and follow the officers' instructions!" She handed the megaphone back and joined the officers, assisting in directing the flow of people away from the immediate danger. As the crowd began to move, Becker scanned the area, ensuring that no one was left behind and that the injured were being properly attended to. Her heart raced, but her mind remained focused on the task at hand, knowing that their safety depended on clear-headed actions.

Becker glanced back at Kaitlyn and the teachers, ensuring they were managing the evacuation. "And someone find out where the National Guard is supposed to come in from. We need all the help we can get."

As she stood there, the gravity of the situation weighed on her, but she couldn’t help a wry thought from slipping in. "Next time I’m going to listen to my gut and call in sick."

Verity made her way over upon hearing the voice of the interviewer call her over. As she did, she scrolled through her phone. Apparently the govenor of New York was mobilizing the National Guard. For what reason? Was another 9/11 happening? Surely the news would be blowing up about it and they would all get notifications on their phone? Wasn't that the point of it?

Verity also caught the biker guy again. If she hadn't arrived at the scene in front of her office building or this restaurant after him she would have sworn he was stalking her. She also caught the tail end of an eye roll. He had some nerve! He hit her! And she let him go! The absolute audacity some people had.

She eventually took her seat as the tell-tail sounds of a fight were going on in the background. "Yes, hello. Thank you for meeting with me. I'm looking forward to this." Confident in her ability to wow any interview, she was ready for whatever. There had been many an interview in her past that tried to slander her or get her to own up to something for a nice clip to make viral. She never allowed anything out that she did not approve of first. This would be no different.

Hurrying over to where the first aid kit was located, Kali was relieved to see that the kit had been recently restocked. Everything she could need was located in the kit from bandages and gauze to burn cream and a suture kit—certainly a blessing altogether.

Hastily unhooking the kit from the wall, she ran back to Jeff and popped open the white box on the counter. "Right, Jeff," Kali spoke up, grabbing some sterile gauze from the kit. She wasn't a doctor by any means, but nearly everyone was aware of the basic tenets of first aid. "I need you to hold still, okay? We need to stop the bleeding first." Kali clarified, pressing the gauze tightly onto the open bite wound and hoping she wasn't causing too much distress for Jeff by doing so.

As she began to treat Jeff's wound, the sound of the freezer door clicking shut drew her attention elsewhere. Isaac and her fellow co-worker had succeeded in securing Tobias in the freezer, going as far as to lock him inside. "Are you two okay?" Kali proceeded to ask Isaac, noticing how worn out they were. She hoped they weren't bitten like Jeff had been. One injury was already one injury too many.

"We need to find an actual doctor, Issac." Kali explained, looking back at Jeff. Although she knew basic wound treatment, she truly had no way of knowing if he needed stitches, antibiotics, or anything else. "Forget the customers. We need to get Jeff to the hospital."

Hermes didn't want to ignore his uncle, after all doing so may cause more worries than anything. So he fished out his phone from his pocket and placed it on the kittens belly, allowing the small cat to wrap its tiny paws at the edges of the screen as he typed away a response. ”Everything's fine. I think we are nearing Mandy's soon. One of my classmates is with us too.” Hermes didn't know how to answer Mandy's question. Cannibals, at least to him, suggested that they were either a tribal being that cannibalized other humans but within the safety of their own society, or were just a regular Joe that walked around like anyone else would but ate people behind closed doors at home. Maybe Elios family was like this, but if they were that didn't explain the rabid look nor the sudden arisal and craving for flesh that Coach had.

” I don't know. None of this makes sense. I don't think cannibals, I think somethings wrong. Think…” Hermes paused for a moment, the idea too ridiculous to even want to say (or sign) aloud. ”Like something out of a scary movie. Maybe a viral infection like rabies? Or maybe it is rabies? But one so strong that it has an adrenaline kick big enough to wake the dead? Or it could be fungal. There are parasitic fungi that control their hosts after killing them…but I didn't see any mushrooms on them. Unless Elio ate some thinking it was drugs but it contained the parasite.” He speculated. Having stopped at several points having to interweave fingerspelling for words he didn't know or think would ever come up in conversation. Unfortunately they were also long words and he hoped Mandy didn't miss any as she focused on driving. They'd reached her place, and Hermes placed a hesitant hand on the door handle. Worried he may encounter others like those two all the way out here.

@Trainerblue192@KirahHannah looked at Mandy as she signed and nodded slightly. "Yeah i'll text my mom, and let her know that I am with you guys and to pick me up there if thats okay." Hannah said as she listened to Hermes as he tried to come up with an explanation to what had happened in the school. She looked at Hermes all the while the kitten played and bit at Hermes' hands and arms, and started to think a little bit more. "You like all them zombie movies and shows, maybe its some shit like that or whatever?" Hannah said to Hermes while she signed so that Mandy could see as well to Hermes would get a text from his uncle. "Glad to hear you two are okay, the door is unlocked for you two when you get here." Was what the text said.

Kaitlyn nodded slightly as Becker decided to take lead on everything and she started to herd some of the students to get out and away from the gunfire of the police officers. "Have you seen anything like this before or something?" She asked as Becker continued to order those to safety. One of the officers who appeared to be a lieutenant with the local precinct was grateful for the assist but looked back at her, and didn't want her to get injured at all either. "Grateful for the assist but please stand back ma'am." The officer told her, when the zombified coach got to close he ended up tackling one of the officers to the ground and started to try and take a bite out of him. One of the officers quickly opened fire.

The crowd screamed loudly at the gunshots causing them to slowly scatter to try and get away from the scene, Kaitlyn tried her best to try and calm down everyone that was on the scene along with the teachers. Everything was quickly falling into chaos rather quickly on the school grounds. One of the officers was on the radio and looked over at Becker asking where the National Guard would be coming through. "The National Guard will be coming through Jersey City through the Lincoln and Holland Tunnels." The officer called out after getting that information through dispatch.

"The honor is all ours we've been wanting to do this for awhile now." The interviewer said as one of them pulled out a little recorder of some kind for the interview. "So before you became a reality TV star, and businsess women what were you doing before your rise to stardom?" The asked. One of the waitresses approached the table looking at the three of them. "Can I get you all anything to drink first?" They asked giving them a smile. Flynn's eyes wondered over to Verity and her little posse by the looks of it doing some kind of interview he completely ignored it his attention was still over at the kitchen trying to see what was happening still but couldn't get anything at all.

Jeff nodded as he winced slightly letting Kali wrap up his arm and a slight groan escaped his lips as she let her do her thing to try and stop the bleeding. "Thanks Kali.." He said Isaac hid the small bite that he had gotten from Tobias out of sight from Kali and Jeff. "Yeah we are fine." Isaac said still sounding out of breath, loud banging and groans could be heard from inside of the walk-in freezer. Isaac thought for a moment he wanted to put his employees and customers safety first even if he was going to loose money because of this incident. "You are right, i'll call for an ambulance, you go and tell the customers that we are closing up for the day early issue any refunds and pack up whatever food and just give it to them, and no one is to go into the freeze until the police arrive." Isaac told everyone that was in the kitchen.

Putting the car in park. Mandy looked around the neighborhood. She was shaking a little from the chaos and she didn't like how much police activity they had seen on their way. She didn't even hear the sirens that were farther away.

Mandy wasn't certain how to process what Hermes was saying, she understood him fine. She had long been exposed to his clumsy signing, and even while driving she could glance at him and fill in blanks of what he might have said if she did miss anything.

"I've got stuff for the kitten in the trunk. I'm going to grab that you two head right in." Mandy told Hermes. She got out of the car and headed for the back to get into the trunk. She grabbed the couple of bags of things she had gotten for the kitten, slinging the travel backpack over one shoulder.

Mandy had plans to harness and bag train the kitten so if...when she adopted it out it'd be more desirable.

Verity was hyper-focused on the interviewer to the point she all but tuned out everything around her. What mattered most was the here and now as they began with their first question. Verity was brought back to the present when a waitress came over to take their drink order. Verity fought the urge to say anything, especially with a hot mic, but she also knew it was not the waitress' fault. Verity took another look at the diner, quickly determining they would most likely not have any of the desired beverages she would normally order at her preferred dining establishments. "A coffee would be great. Cream and suger as well, though I'll take almond milk if you have it." She gave a sweet smile to the waitress before the interviewer ordered and she proceeded to answer.

"I started from humble beginnings. Never in my life would I have imagined I got to where I am. I didn't really know what I wanted when I was in college. I was just a 'go-with-the-flow' type girl. Went to parties, goofed off with my friends. All of this kind of fell in my lap. And isn't that what America is about? Taking the chances given and doing your all to achieve those goals?"

Kali nodded at Isaac. She had been surprised Isaac was willing to listen to her, worried that he might put profit before his customers and employees. However, it seemed Isaac had some sensibility drilled into his head. "Keep an eye on Jeff for me, please." Kali asked Isaac, worriedly glancing towards Jeff one more time before she left for the dining room.

As she entered the dining room, Kali grabbed a glass and a piece of silverware. Placing herself in the center of the room, Kali repeatedly tapped the silverware against the glass in an attempt to draw everyone's attention to her. "Attention!" Kali called out, looking around the room at the guests. "My sincerest apologies, but the Twin Seasons needs to close early, so I must ask everyone to leave. Those with food may take it home if they so wish, and anyone who would like a refund I ask to please let one of us know so that we can issue it for you. Again, I am sorry for any inconvenience this has caused."

Setting the cup and silverware down on a table, Kali waited with abated breath. Telling a group of hungry customers that they won't be receiving any food wasn't likely to go over well.

Hermes rolled his eyes at Hannah as she mentioned his horror hobby. ”Get real Hannah, As much as I love that media, there's no way we'd ever actually get a Zombie Apocalypse. Or at least we wouldn't live long enough to see one. Got to wait till the world's gone to complete shit that a Mega Corp will either accidentally create one or radiation will due it in after a massive war.” He replied before texting back his uncle a quick thumbs up emoji.

Hermes placed his phone back into his pocket, using his free hand to pet the kittens stomach as it laid on its back, attacking his hand from all the movements. Once it seemed it was clear to get out, Hermes did so, grabbing his backpack and making sure the small cat was secured within his arms as he made his way towards the door. He knew his uncle said the door was unlocked, and knew that Mandy had told them to head on in, but he didn't feel right just waltzing in before her so he waited on by the door.

Becker nodded at Kaitlyn, appreciating her effort to keep the students safe. "No, never seen anything like this," she replied, her voice steady despite the chaos. "This is new territory for all of us."

As the lieutenant urged her to stand back, she took a step back but kept a close watch on the scene. When the coach tackled an officer, her heart pounded, and the gunshots that followed made her flinch.

She glanced at the officer who had mentioned the National Guard. "Jersey City, Lincoln and Holland Tunnels," she repeated, ensuring she had the information right. "Okay, I'll focus on keeping everyone safe until they arrive."

Turning back to Kaitlyn, she added, "We need to ensure there are no stragglers. Should we do a quick sweep around the school grounds?"

As she spoke, she couldn't shake the feeling that this was just the beginning. Becker took a deep breath, steeling herself for whatever was coming next. She glanced at the scene again, making sure no one was left behind in the chaos.

She quickly pulled out her phone and sent a voice message to Dave. "Hey, things are getting out of control here. We have a possible zombie situation. How are things at the hospital?" She hit send, hoping for a swift response as she continued to coordinate the evacuation efforts.
