Summary: Naive Yankind Magitek-Archaeologist on the Run (Rogue/Tinkerer/Wayfarer).
Description: Hailing from the Yankind Hegemony, Ellion has a pale body and unruly hair, and bright, inquisitive violet eyes. He wears a simple traveling outfit and cape, and carries pouches in which he keeps broken magitek shards that he pockets during his archaeological antics, which he has learnt to fuse together into various alchemical effects. His experience of the world outside of Yankind College starts and ends at ancient dig sites, so he is still very naive about the world. Indeed, even most of his home-country is foreign to him, as only the ancient Magitek of the world captured his attention from a young age. Recently, during one of the digs of the College, a very much intact Golem was found. Yankind ordered it brought back to the homeland for further study and exploitation, but that didn't sit right with Ellion. It may have been ancient and terribly fascinating, but she seemed to be sentient! So instead, they escaped together, and have been on the run from the Hegemony to this day.

Who is (or was) your mentor? What is (or was) your relationship with them?
My mentor was my grandfather, Grandfather Columbus. He taught me as his grandfather taught him, I learned the history, knowledge, and secrets of the Ćororo people under his tutelage to keep the ancient wisdom alive and allow me to guide our caravan when the time came for me to do so.

Did you attend an academy or college? What kind of people did you meet there?
No wall can contain a Ćororo for long. Aside from the occasional day or two spent within a library or famous learning institution, the open sky has been the only place of study I have ever known.

There is this centuries-old mystery you’re obsessed with. What is it?
The Ćororo caravans can navigate the World Storms with an effortless ease that no other people can achieve. The secret of how we came to possess this gift has long been lost to the forgetfulness of Time. I intend to rediscover this secret.

Is it true that some things are better left buried beneath the sands of time?
I do not think this is true. If we forget the past, we will be condemned to reenact the worst of its errors.

Do you think everyone can be persuaded? Is it true that everyone has a price?
My answer to both of these questions is the same: No. While words can move many people and wealth many people more, neither of these things can hope to change the course of someone guided by their heart.

You thought someone was on your side, but they betrayed you. Who are they?
Just as my grandfather passed the history, knowledge, and secrets of the Ćororo people on to me, I passed them on to my own grandson, Luzon. I do not understand what would possess him to then divulge those secrets to the Hegemony, but I intend to find out.

How do you feel about manipulating people, even if it is for a good cause?
They say the pen is mightier than the sword. But regardless of whether that is true or not, pens and swords are alike in one respect: Both are neither inherently good or bad. It's all in the wielder. How do I feel about manipulation? So long as it is used for good, I have no trouble with it.

In the past, your words ended up putting you in trouble. What happened?
I am 87 years old. There have been MANY times in my past when my words have gotten me into trouble.

What led you to live a life of endless travels? Was it your choice? ...are you tired?
As a Ćororo, a life of endless travels was the life I was born into. As a Ćororo man, a life of endless travels was a life in which I chose to remain. And as an old Ćororo man, a life of endless travels is a life I will only tire of the day I tire of life itself.

Is there a place or person that feels like “home” to you?
My caravan was such a place and the members of that caravan were such people. After Luzon's betrayal, the Hegemony came after us in case my grandson had held back or simply not known any additional secrets. We escaped their clutches relatively unharmed. But we had to scatter to the wind to do so. I pray that one day we may all find each other again, but I fear that the caravan may not be made whole once more in what little I have left of my lifetime.

You have met many people and visited many places. Is there one you can’t forget?
The memory of a Ćororo Grandfather is one of the most robust vaults in existence. I have not forgotten anything since my mid sixties. It is my gift. It is my curse.

You lost something or someone because of your travels. What happened?
I suppose I lost them because of my travels in a roundabout manner of thinking. Like many Wayfarers, I once had a Faithful Companion. My dear departed Victoria. The finest crowned pigeon to ever live. She was my friend through many dangers. Time's kleptomaniacal tendencies took her from this world at 30 years of age, an exceptionally long life by the standards of her species. As was Ćororo tradition, I took Victoria's passing as a sign that my more adventurous days were drawing to a close. I settled down not long after and never strayed far from my caravan after that... Until recently at least.

Have you ever communicated with an Arcanum, or are they silent and distant?
They're chattier than the plants and the animals! Still don't talk a ton, though; but hey, it's thanks to them I know how to speak. Or read.

Do you rely on your burning passion, or do you strive to keep it under control?
Eh? You don't put 100% into everything?

What do your weapons and fighting style look like?
You see this biiiiiiiiig axe? I swing it!

What led you to live a life of endless travels? Was it your choice? ...are you tired?

Well, sticking around is boring. And nope, it's great~

Is there a place or person that feels like “home” to you?
Swordy's shrine is great! Although, it's hard to get back there, even if it's in the middle of nowhere that empire makes it hard to get around.

- Who taught you the art of Chimerism? Is your mentor human or monstrous?
"Kai... kai-meh... kai-meh-iz-um? Is that what it's called? I dunno, I wasn't really taught it by anyone. I just kinda used to watch monsters and beasts when they were fighting or hunting, and sort of... copied what they did? Eventually, something kinda clicked."

- Can people and monsters live in harmony, or are they bound to threaten each other?
*Shrugs* "I dunno, maybe? Some of the kids on the island had monster companions, so..."

- What does your magic look like?
"To be honest, I don't really think about what I do as magic. It's just something I feel, and then I do it. You know, like, instinct. I do remember some kids who saw me fighting that something they'd see like... an illusion of a creature standing over me? I've never seen it myself, though, so I dunno."

- Are there many practicing your art, or are you the exception?
"I showed a couple of other kids back in my tribe to fight like I did. Some of them got it. Some of them didn't. Haven't really seen anyone doing the same thing since I left the island, but I dunno... again, I wasn't taught it, I just sort of figured it out, so I guess other people could do the same."

- Do you rely on your burning passion, or do you strive to keep it under control?
"You know, I'm not angry all the time. Just... things set me off a lot. I try not to take it out on people I care about, but it can be hard sometimes."

- There’s that one thing that always makes you lose it. What is it?
"People thinking they're better than me, or looking down on me."

- In the past, your lack of control had tragic consequences. What have you lost?
"I mean... there's a reason I'm here and no longer on my island." (Note: he was exiled for trying to seize leadership during one of his tantrums.)

- What do your weapons and fighting style look like?
"Like I said, I base my fighting style on beasts and monsters I've seen, particularly big creatures like bears and boars. Even made this claw out of old metals and leather I found in the shipwreck, good for clawing at people. Also digging and climbing sometimes too."
