Also, my daughter and I are hoping My Sweet Piano will have an actual speaking part in one of the future episodes. 🤞🏻

Watching Fox's Animal Control sitcom. It isn't something I'd typically watch, but the setting was something unusual (it's about AC officers, hence the title) so I decided to give it a watch.

Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes, while not as good as Dawn or War, is a totally fine start to a new trilogy and also the latest blockbuster movie to show Disney that if you're gonna use CGI for 90 percent of your movie, at least take the time to make it look fuckin good.

I hate that we've reached a point where I could just wait three weeks for a movie to go from theaters to on demand. The theater experience sucks, but it's part of the experience, dammit

Started watching Smiling Friends. I won't lie, it took a lot of convincing because the animation style is so off-putting but I'm glad I did. It's a silly little way for me to have some dumb laughs, and I really like Alan and Glep.

After three episodes of The Acolyte I think it's pretty okay.

House of the Dragon - as much as I enjoy fantasy works, I'm really only watching HOTD because it's "the show that everyone is watching". The show struggles to capture my attention like early GoT did, tbh.

Deadpool & Wolverine - Average enough superhero flick, but it still leans into that phase Marvel currently has where they're teasing the hell out of X-Men but won't put out anything substantial (aside from, like, '97). They need to fully bring them into the MCU at this point, just like they're planning with F4.

I've been thinking about watching the second season of Happy Marriage. I don't look at TV much unless I'm watching cooking channels. And sometimes wrestling shows hehe.

Hawkeye. Wasn't expecting it to be as good as it is. Hailee Steinfeld is top notch.

My wife and I went to see Alien Romulus a few days ago and it was incredible. A welcome addition to the Alien franchise, especially after the last two stinkers. Between Romulus and Prey I feel the Alien and Predator franchises have redeemed themselves in my eyes. Now if we could just get one good new Terminator film I'd be very happy.

Good call. Prey was great. Almost up there with the original 1987 Predator. I've always appreciated the Predator as a standalone concept, and combining their story with the Alien was a disappointment for me. Haven't seen Romulus yet. As for Terminator, I don't feel they've made a good one since Terminator 2.

Haha, it's a pretty good show. Haven't seen J. J. Abrams do something poorly. Life hasn't given me a chance to watch the entire Lost series properly, so I think I'll start doing that. Thanks for the reminder.

Deadpool & Wolverine (2024)

My bestie has a loyal crush on Ryan Reynolds, so she’s pulled me along for this surprisingly hilarious and joyously cheeky ride for a third time. Truth be told, I was bothering her about this third Deadpool movie as opposed to the other way around. And, I usually shy to the more conservative type movies in many respects. So, there.

The 4th wall breaking jokes really challenged some good actors (such as Matthew Macfadyen). Everyone was pressed to exercise their best talent as to keep in character while outside the fourth wall. It was very amusing. With all that said, the movie was everything as expected plus more. The spirit of Deadpool embracing the seemingly unembraceable as smoothly awkward and charmingly ham as possible was… of course, absolutely laudable. At least, in my book.

I give it a 9.5 out of 10. The .5 was deducted simply for not having more Negasonic Teenage Warhead and Yukio in it.

I saw coralline for the first time! It’s my roommates favorite movie and he was so happy that it went back into theaters for the anniversary so we went to see it.
I’ve also been rewatching Charlie Brown movies lately even though they don’t match the current season (example being me watching the Christmas movie while it’s summer) they’re just so cute! Been so long since I’ve seen these and I’m showing my roommate them who hasn’t seen much of Charlie Brown.

Back to watching anime and j-dramas; haven't watched either in a loooooooooooooooong time. Been filling the gap with Marvel and some other shows, but mostly Youtube. Got too much to binge but too little time to.
