If Chunji were to use his eyes to analyze the floor, he'd find that this cathedral is somewhat similar to an overcharged leyline, though weaker. It's not as if the Umbralist is using a leyline connected to the tower, but more so that the cathedral has its own separate leyline that was transported here directly. The presence of this cathedral is also almost definitely the reason for the darkness on the third floor, though there doesn't appear to be any kind of ritual ongoing. Basically, it looks more like this cathedral was summoned from somewhere else as a real physical location, and not that it was created from nothing.

As for the man himself, the robes appear to obscure his features, such that all Chunji can see underneath is a dark silhouette. Even with regular vision, his face is obscured by seemingly the same magical darkness as that of the third floor.

Got it. I'm going to write up current post as, "Chunji is too busy to collect more information." At the moment. On my next post, I think I'll have Chunji pick that up.

Hopefully this guy isn't magically resistant to curses~

@ERode I truthfully wasn't expecting to run another boss encounter here and now, but here we are, LOL

@Psyker Landshark Yep!

@Estylwen There would be an aura of deepest black around him, closer to something like vantablack. The other notable thing about his aura is that it seems to grow and recede in an inconsistent pattern, like it's fighting against itself almost.

So at this point, how close are peeps away from rebound anyhow? Might be good to get an understanding as to where MP bars are at before things really kick off for the fight.

I would say it's reasonable that Ciara, Iraleth and Chunji would all be reasonably close to it at this point - probably one significant play away, each, from being there.
