Janus looked up, opening his eyes, a few words tumbling from his lips, unable to catch himself, once again he'd been reciting the song of the skalds in his head. "Light unlike any other, unstoppable, untouchable. burning away all shadows." he then caught himself and shrugged. "sorry, I suppose, They die, and so will meany more, they died protecting what they loved, they died fighting against insurmountable odds. They were given the greatest pyre possible by the etherion." he smiled slightly "They died well, there is no need to feel bad, or sorry, I didn't know them well enough to, but still, I feel for their loss, but why cry? they will live on, for all eternity in stories told by people to their children, and their children's children." he gently put a hand atop hers. seeing her almost about to cry he put his arms around her in a attempt to comfort her. "I never had time to change from this, just got back from a job. You look good in a dress." he almost laughed, such absent minded small talk at a time like this. "you never lose them, really. you remember them all, you laughed, you smiled, you were sad, with them. and you remember those times, and thus they never are truly lost. you only lose someone when you forget who they were and what they meant to you." he smiled and looked at the guild, "everyone holds memories of them. and everyone knows them. you know where they sat, what they said, who the had scuffles with. and I bet you, tomorrow. they'll be a empty table where they would normally sit. because people remember, and they'll be tears because you didn't sit there because you expected gray to sit there. yes. but there will be tears because you remember. and so long as you remember. they never truely die." he sighed. looking down at Victoria he checked her eyes playfully to see if she was still crying.

Skye looked to the male that spoke. It was...Zero, that was his name she believed. She bristled. "Voting who becomes guild master while the late master only died days ago! That isn't living life to the fullest!" she hissed out. Her eyes flashing as her magic flared out around her giving her a bit of a blue glow for a few minutes. "I don't know what that is, but to live one has to rid themselves of grief that is what a funeral is for to say good-bye for now to our fallen and its desecrated by the fact that we are trying to choose a guild master when we should be mourning the fact that we /have/ to!" she spoke harshly. Her sadness for the fallen intermingled with the still healing wounds of Phoenix Rising and it overwhelmed her.

She knew her eyes were filling with tears and that the fact that some where falling down her face. She wasn't about to wipe them away, to be ashamed that she mourned for her friends, guildmates....for her family. She heard of Aura's idea and turned. She knew that it would be like Fairy Tail to be going out with a big bang but she couldn't bring herself to do it. She closed her eyes and pivoted around and left the funeral and headed to a place where she could be alone and gather her feelings.
Skye leaned against the rough bark of a tree near the guild. She look to the cloudy sky with conflicting emotions. She wanted to scream, cry, yell, hurt something. She could feel the rain pouring down on her and it gave her comfort. She knew that even if she were to seek revenge it will do nothing. Hugging her knees closer to her, she rested her forehead on her knees and cried.

"Can you honestly look me in the eye and tell me that this would be what the master would have wanted? Master's final words was for us to live on and how can you live when you dwell in death? He tasked us with selecting a guild master and where better to finish his final task than in his presence, in their presence to show them that they are still here. We are still thinking of them and as we live on parts of their souls live with us as well, there is no other place I would do this, there is no other time I would do this!" Zero shouted at her as she turned to leave.

"Go dwell in death! You are spitting on everyone that died and I will be damned if you did it in my presence any longer" was this kicking someone when they were down? Possibly, did Zero care in the slightest? No, this was what they wanted and it would be cruel to do it any other way at least in his perspective. 'That wasn't a good meal...pathetic' he thought disappointed, feasting on the darkness in someone's heart was the best way to enhance his power but he would lose a bit of himself each time he did but at least when she was alone it would be easier to overcome her hardship, he had helped her in the only way he could by being a monster.

"ENOUGH!". Janis stood from his seat. "you have no right to tell people what they should and should not do. If you think otherwise you are no better than the scum from a dark guild. Now be quiet and let others pay their respects as they wish." He closed his eyes and let out a sigh. "we should not mar an occasion such as this with stupid bickering. What would the master have said? He'd have probably have us all cleaning the guild hall for the next week." He walked up to zero, his eye's starting to glow a little with power. "you have no respect for the dead. Nor any humanity left in your soul. I pity you. Life is more torture than death could ever be for you. That is why you have no care for the fallen." Janus turned away and returned to his seat. "I hope you never find peace with that blighted heart of yours." And with that he folded his arms and closed his eyes. Leaving no time for a rebuttal.

Rosaline wiped tears and rain water from her face, she had barely known any of them but it still stung. She had always been grateful to Master Makarov for allowing her to join, not many legitimate guilds wanted someone who could steal magic, and it was his death hurt her the most. Everyone seemed to be dealing differently, personally Rosaline felt that voting could wait but it was a welcome distraction. Wallowing in sorrow would not help the situation, she stood. Her mind was made up on the vote.
"Excuse me, I would like to cast a vote for Laxus."
There were so many things she wanted to say but she could hear her voice shaking and could feel silent tears continue to run down her cheeks along with the rain water, she could tell that she was on the edge of loosing her composure. As usual people had already begun to argue but she honestly could not say that it was unexpected. She sat back down, making no effort to stop the flow of tears, today it would be okay to cry and to feel sorrow but she and everyone else would have to be strong in the days and weeks that would follow this catastrophe.

Victoria had to admit, Janus embracing her was rather uncomfortable. His armor was tough and cold, sending a shiver up her spine as it touched her skin. The gesture was sweet though, so she did her best to appreciate it. In truth she wasn't used to being touched by other people, especially men. When she first arrived a lot of men had tried to flirt with her, which she hadn't minded at the time, but the second one of them even tried to lay a hand on her they would meet her steel. Not many men were comfortable around her after she showed them how little tolerance she had for their perversions. The only person who ever dared to touch her after that was young Jacob. Despite the many beatings he'd received from her, he was resolute in his attempts to be friendly with her. They were harmless enough, so she eventually got used to it. Even so, every bone in her body was telling her to pull away from Janus' comforting embrace. She wouldn't have to, thankfully, since Janus stood up to go and confront Zero. Victoria had been zoned out for most of the dispute, focused on her own thoughts. It must have been some argument, because even Jacob was getting involved.

"Hey, come on guys. We're all buddies here, right? No need to argue, we're all just a little upset 'cause of the funeral; not to mention the rain." Jacob blabbered on, hoping his ramblings would get through to Zero and Janus. Victoria sighed at the two. Janus had his back turned to Zero, his arms folded over his chest. It reminded her of what she used to do as a child when she couldn't get what she wanted. Janus wasn't a child, however, and seeing them act this way annoyed her. She stood up and approached the small group bickering.
"Let's all just shake hands and make up, alright? Big group hug everyone!" Jacob spread his arms out, yet he was completely mortified. This wasn't something they'd just be able to hug out. He barely even knew these guild members, what made him think that a group hug would solve the problem? Victoria knew a more effective method of sorting this issue out. Stepping uncomfortable close to Zero, she stared up at his gruff face with disdain.
"I'm not in a particularly good mood to watch a bunch of brats argue at a funeral." She added extra emphasis on 'funeral', she wanted them to feel bad for arguing at an event of mourning. "Now, why don't we all go pay our respects to them? That's the very least we can do after this shocking display." She stepped away, staring at the other guild members.
"Now if anyone else wants to make a daring statement or outburst, I suggest you do it after the funeral is over. For your own safety." Pushing through Janus and Zero, she ushered Jacob away from the group and back towards Aura and the rest of them that were planning the sendoff.
"Good luck." She said, patting Jacob on the shoulder before heading up to where the graves were.

It had been a very long day for everyone, so Jacob knew that a nice big Fairy Tail style bang would put a smile on everyones faces. He saw Victoria sitting in front of the graves, silent and resolute. She was probably speaking to them, saying all the things she couldn't bring herself to say out loud. He looked over to Aura and the group, his fingers sparkling with the moons radiance. His magic glittered along his skin, and the sound of chimes gentle clanging together in the breeze surrounded him.
"Shall we do this?" He held his hands in front of him in tight fists, the glow of his magic lighting up his face.

Vi looked at the large scene going on. She didn't like how all of them were arguing, and people trying to calm the arguers down, which made more conflict, and it was just a horrible scene at a funeral. In a desperate chance to divert her mind from the fiasco, she looke towards the walls, and the corners. Particularly for shadows she could stay in. What she did find was different. A crying boy in the corner. His name was Len, Gen, or something. All she knew was that it rhymed with men. She went over, and walked towards that corner. "Are you okay?" She asked, trying to cheer the boy up.

Zero was unimpressed here there was a grown man who was no better than a little child, making empty threats that he couldn't keep, nothing he said even made sense and he just plainly contradicted himself

"You said "you have no right to tell people what they should and should not do" and then continued on to tell me to be quiet now if I'm not mistaken you told me what to do therefore your whole argument is invalid since you can't even make sense, go on keep acting like a child. All you did was pick off things you wanted in what I said without taking everything into context so that you could react and act macho but instead come off as a two year old." he said. He was shocked when he the guy's eyes started glowing not cause of power but because the same man believed it was a good display, glowing eyes? really? You find that in children's toys but he would let it go, he had already made his point. 1 done, 1 to go

"Although I don't take to kindly to threats" he paused taking a deep breathe "However I have to admit even I have been childish and in turn disrespected Master, for that I am sorry. For this is a sad occasion even the heavens themselves openly cry for what we have lost, I will at least remove myself from the situation" with that he went and sat down, for the rest of the funeral he would at least be quiet. More had happened but nothing else needed to be addressed.

Fahloadh stood quietly. He briefly considered barking in the hope that the sudden noise would shock the others into some sort of silence and eventually, some form of composure, but he didn't. He had a feeling it would only make things worse. These sorts of squabbles were common for Fairy Tail, even the meagre two months he had been with the guild had shown him that much, but Master Makarov had always been there to calm things down. Now, with him gone, it was up to the new guild leader to take on that role. Nudging Laxus' hand silently, Faoladh hoped he conveyed enough meaning with the gesture. It was one thing to be voted the new guild leader, but taking the initiative to quell such discontent would speak volumes amongst the other members. It wouldn't be so much an attempt at replacing Master Makarov, rather honoring the methods he used to hold the guild together.

With that silent gesture, however, Faoladh felt he had said his peace. If Laxus couldn't figure it out on his own, what good was it for Faoladh to point it out to him? At the very worst if he did so the other guild members would start voting for him to be the next guild leader, and that was something that Faoladh definitely did not want.
Using his keen dog senses, Faoladh followed the scent of Skye to the tree she had run off too. While he didn't particularly agree with her outburst, he could certainly agree with where it had come from; a place of grief and mourning. Ridding oneself of grief was one aspect of a funeral, yes, but it wasn't going to be accomplished by mourning the fact that they had to choose a new leader for the guild. No matter how Skye felt in that moment, Faoladh couldn't help but feel that all the votes that had been cast had been cast with a heavy heart.
If anything, Faoladh felt that the best way to rid the guild of grief was to celebrate the life of Master Makarov; an evening of drinking, revelry and storytelling of their fondest memories of all their fallen brothers and sisters. An evening of laughter, tears and healing. Not a funeral, but a wake.

Faoladh didn't say these things, however, as he approached Skye, namely because he was still in his Dog Form. Had he been human, he wouldn't have voiced such opinions either. They were his own and he was dealing with his grief in his own way while Skye was dealing with hers in her own. Curling up beside her, Faoladh didn't attempt to nuzzle up to her or rest his head against her, rather he just lay there beside her silently as she cried, his fur wet from the rain, looking back towards the courtyard.

Lockheart folded his arms. "You all talk of shame... voting right now." He sounded furious. "How dare you... none of you have known master as long as us." He gestured to the s class wizards and some other originals. "Shame... you bring shame upon yourselves. You argue at the funeral of your friends." He looked away from everyone. "....I withdraw..." People looked shocked. Lockheart walked up to Laxus. "Its what Makarov would have wanted... Master." He bowed his head a little.

Vivinao joined lockheart in the bowing of heads.

Laxus smiled somewhat. "Raise your heads you idiots... its time to give them a FAIRY TAIL SEND OFF!" Tear streamed down his eyes, as he raised his hand in the traditional backwards index finger and thumb pose. He shot a bolt of lightning into the air, hoping everyone else too would fire magic into the air. Lockheart and Viviano both did respectively.

Janus sighed, shaking his head "People." he sighed almost as if he remembered why he spent so much time out and about. Janus had no magic he could add to the display without openly causing a majour disruption so he simply raised his hand and stood, heading away from the group looking for somewhere he could rest out of the madness that the sadness seemed to bring upon everyone, including himself. after a while he found himself at the men's dorms behind the guildhall, calling upon Fenrir he shifted in to the 8 or nine foot tall wolf like creature that came with the form and clambered up the side, settling on the roof before shifting back,

Aura, right then, presented a very conflicting image to all before her. On one hand, she was obviously crying over the loss of her guildmates, who she loved so dearly. However, on the other hand, she was smiling in happiness, glad that they were able to do this for the fallen. In a flash, Aura had both pistols out and aimed at the sky. With a small noise of concentration, she let off a barrage of magical bullets. These bullets glowed a bright blue and, when they struck their "Target", that is when they got high enough in the sky, they exploded into blue balls of light. She kept this up for a minute before quietly exquipping the pistols and raising her fist in the air, showing her gunmetal grey guild mark to the world, showing that Fairy Tail may've been hit, but they hadn't fallen.

James lowered his hand, looking at Lockheart, Vivinao and Laxus. The trio looked to be discussing about the new master, but then something that James never would have expected happened. Lockheart withdrew. James was shocked at this, so shocked that the tears from his eyes stopped completely as the eyes themselves opened wide. If Lockheart had withdrawn, that could only mean one thing. Laxus was the new master. James saw that the trio were shooting off magic into the air, and also a few others, but James didn't really have any good magic to cast into the air, so he just cast a few bright flowers into the air, then walked to an empty corner where he stood, wiping away tears that decided that they would return.

Ren looked up as a someone approached him. "I- I'm fine" his voice croaked. He looked up as the magic was shot into the air. He raised his hand to the sky and send small puffs of wool that were soon dampened and plopped to the ground. "I can't really cast anything in the rain..." he apologized to the girl next to her. "My magic isn't the most respectful thing to shoot of at a funeral anyways" he sighed as he picked up the wool lumps and put then down where someone wouldn't trip on them. Ren looked at lockheart with a small amount of respect, before looking back down at his feet. "Are... are you going to cast anything?" he asked the girl. He didn't really know a lot of people, he hadn't socialized with anyone much since he joined the guild, he was busy trying to do jobs.

-Wipe The Tears Away-

Gen probably would have smiled if he hadn't been so damn sad, everybody was firing off their magic, though Gen had to think a bit about how to go about using his. After all, wouldn't be very respectful to have it start raining chains down all over the courtyard. Taking a second to take in a deep breath, he began to channel his Ripple magic through his hands, and at the same time, he clutched his right hand's wrist with his left, and a chain, white and almost polyginal in it's formation shot out, going roughly 30 ft. in the air before it burst into white bits of harmless dust that shone brilliantly and cascaded downward, he fired in turn with each of the others, though having to channel his Ripple along with using the chains tired him out quickly. He stopped after about the 5th chain, catching his breath, normally that would have only been about 13% of his magical energy used up, but he was still somewhat depressed from the damn good cry he had earlier, and his unstable emotional state took more of a toll on him than he thought.

He looked up as the others shot off their magic, a smile starting to tug at his lips.
"Wonder if they can see this..." he whispered as he pushed both his arms outward, his palms beginning to charge with a white energy as the ripple resounded throughout his body. He shot a single, massive chain that flew even farther than the rest, though this one was a bit more...special. The links curved and broke, forming into the shape they all knew, the guild sign of Fairy Tail shining as it formed from the chain. Gen fell back a bit, it literally took everything he had to make something that intricate, but he felt like it was a fitting sendoff. His legs eventually gave way and his legs buckled, he was now on his knees looking up. He felt his eyes start to get heavy, and he fell back, now sprawled out on the muddy grass, the rain still trickling down. The guild sign swirled in the sky before the chain slowly dissipated, even more bits of the magic fluttering down and eventually disappearing entirely.

"Yeah...I think they saw it." He said as he continued to look at the sky, not in a hurry to get up.

Vi sighed. "Any fairy tail magic is fine. As long as your magic is how you feel, then it's not inappropriate for a funeral." She said before standing up. A black knife that seemed to absorb the light around it began to form. "A fairy tail send-off." Vi threw the knife she had in her hand as hard upwards as she could, and once it reached it's apex, the knife exploded into small black embers that drifted down. After watching the embers for a few seconds, she sat down beside the boy. "God, I hate myself for using terrible lines like that." She said to herself. After that, she took out a cigarette and stuck it in her own mouth. She didn't light it, though.

Eliz dabbed her eyes with a silk handkerchief, still trying to look pretty while sobbing her eyes out. She stood beside her friend, Ren and shared her grief with him. "Such a travesty." She murmured, patting the boy's head. "We all die eventually, 'tis the way the world goes." Eliz sighed, "Everyone will die, and what we fight for will end up being for nothing, the way of the world is a confusing thing."
She ran her fingers through her silver hair and closed her eyes, trying to cease the whimpering sobs. After a few quiet moments, she managed to calm herself down, "And now we all look like bickering fools. Look at this, plain as day."
She had no patience for other people, other than Ren of course, after all they were close 'pals' as some people said. Everyone looked so... strange what with their get up and what not, but that didn't matter now, what mattered most was her friend and his attempt to lighten up.

The sounds of talking going from sad discussion to an argument snapped him out of his self-induced stupor. He simply stood and listened to the arguments, going straight back to not paying attention to the whole thing. He only started really paying attention when there was suddenly a sound of gunfire and chains. His immediate thought was that a real fight had broken out between the guild members. His magic activated, allowing him to see, and he quickly realized they were just firing their magic into the air. He was confused by it, guessing that it had something to do with the whole thing he had just completely ignored.

He walked over to a tree, staying quiet. He just hoped nobody had noticed he hadn't actually been paying any attention. He leaned against the tree, deciding to actually pay attention and figure out what was happening.

Victoria admired the beautiful display of lights and magic firing up into the air, cascading down along with the rain and glimmering with the hope of their guild. She had no magic to offer up, so instead she pointed her right index finger up into the air, a gesture Master Makarov had used since as long as she could remember. That gesture gave everyone in the guild such happiness, as well as the strength to press on. That's what the guild was doing; moving on. Tomorrow would be the ultimate test to prove that they could do it. Instead of moping around the guild, Victoria was determined to soldier on and go back to taking requests like she used to. She stared over to Jacob, who was shooting his Lunar Magic up into the sky. Jacob usually tagged along with Victoria's missions for the past few weeks he'd been at the guild, but perhaps it was time Victoria told him to find a team. He'd have to learn to open up to more people around the guild. For now, she let him be. Jacob couldn't think of a better way to send off their fallen friends. The once gloomy sky was now ablaze with magic, and it just kept on coming. Raising his fists into the air, another dark blue magic circle materialized. Shots of light fired up into the sky before erupting into makeshift fireworks of dust and magic. Everyone was eagerly awaiting the newly appointed Master Laxus for an encouraging word of some sorts. Victoria stood from her spot near the graves, staring up at Laxus and Lockheart.
