*can't stop laughing*

So I'm guessing dear Feather is the one who's going to be gently nudging Kijani and Victor closer? Because for all her simpleness, she will be able to see what they're blind to...

Or that's the way it usually goes, anyway.

That more or less what I had in mind, although I admit it did come sort of spur at the moment.

More importantly, I'm glad I made you laugh!

Feather is a sweetheart, and just the type of person to bypass Kijani's walls completely. Kijani has nothing to fear from Feather, which is new for her...

Anyway, I'll get thinking on that response. For now, it's quite late. I'll see you tomorrow!

Still here. Have half a response for Kijani, debating on her reaction. But I hope to have that post for you tomorrow.

Time seems to slide through my fingers like water. I really do feel guilty for the constant delays I cause.

To be honest? Your posting rate is absolutely perfect for me! I can't post every day (although the site is set as my homepage, so I'm always checking regardless.) So, please do not feel any guilt! Post at the rate you feel comfortable with. I'd rather a happy co-writer than a stressed one!

Finally got something thrown together.

It's just one problem after another.

My left hand/arm is giving me trouble. Pain and weakness. *sigh*

I can sympathize. I managed to destroy my left knee again about a week ago during practice... just a few days before my next belt test! It was an interesting test to be sure with me hobbling about. i think I passed. I hope I passed.

More importantly, how is your arm doing? Did you do something to it or did it just creep up on you?

Belt test? Do you train in some kind of martial art?

My arm is okay for now, but... this isn't the first time this has happened, and the problem is getting worse. I went to the doctor- he gave me painkillers and we're going to do some tests... >< *sigh* It's my dominant hand!! I can't lose the use of my drawing hand...

Taekwondo. I just got my black stripe, which puts me two belts (and a lot of hard work) away from getting my first degree black belt. Being in my forties and with bad knees and early onset arthritis, it gets... interesting.

Your dominant hand? Ew. Carpal Tunnel Syndrome?

Wow! That's impressive for anyone, 40's or not. I mean, I can't do that and I'm not even 30... Go for that belt, man! Also, you're in your 40's? I never would have guessed.

And I think it's carpal tunnel, but the doctor won't confirm or deny. I mean, I guess that's his job to really find out for sure, but I'm really fustrated.

You mentioned that the hand giving you trouble was your drawing hand. Are you an illustrator/artist, as well? And (if it's not too personal) are there any examples I might see? I have no talent when it comes to visual art myself, but I love seeing what others can do!

Now I need to find a good poem for Kijani to read!

Any suggestions?

Oh, my! That's a loaded question! Lets see... Elizabeth Barrett Browning, Rudyard Kipling, Alfred Lord Tennyson, Robert Browning, Christina Rossetti, Mark Twain. Just no Edgar Allen Poe, please? I was "Poe'd" to death in high school. A second alternative would be any of the Child Ballads (if you're familiar with them.) A third possibility? Just write something yourself! Don't worry about how 'good' it is or isn't, just so long as it's heartfelt!

I think your drawings show some promise, actually. It just takes practice, is all, like anything else in life. Mind you, I can't draw a straight line for want of a ruler, but your work is far better than a lot of webcomics I've seen out there (and I've seen some pretty bad webcomics!!) The most important thing is that it brings you joy, regardless of what anyone else says.

I'm looking for a shorter or medium length one. Something that's not an epic, but still would evoke something...

*has been digging through Victorian poetry for a full hour* Argh.

Perhaps you may not wish to copy out the entire poem, whichever you choose, but simply write on how Kijani reads it. Not just the in tonal inflections, but how it makes her feel as well. Then you can simply use the stanza of whatever poem to finish out the paragraph? Would that work for you?

*nod* I was going to go with the inflection part, but how she feels about it makes a lot of sense too. I think I know which one to pick, now! Hooray! I should have a post to you either tonight or tomorrow. Thanks for the assist! Poetry is not my strongest point... I enjoy it, but sometimes I miss the hidden meanings and all that... usually that doesn't happen to me with prose. Hm. *shrug*
