Trainer Papers

Trainer name: Evangeline Monique la Devereaux Avery
Gender: Female
Date of Birth [Age]: 15/11/97 (26)
Region of Origin: Sinnoh
Physical description: Shoulder-length azure hair with a fairly tall, slightly thin build.
Occupation during war: Waitress
Post-War Occupation: Lounge Singer
Brief Biography: Evangeline and her parents were born in Sinnoh, but eventually moved to Johto due to her father’s business. When the war flared up, her father signed up to fight – Despite being from Sinnoh originally, her father actually fought with the united army of Johto and Kanto, thinking that his home region was stepping too far. The day he left was the last they ever saw of him. He was declared ‘Missing in Action’, but both mother and daughter knew enough to know that was their way of saying ‘dead’. In the absence of their father, they each took up jobs to bring in money; While Evangeline worked a fairly meagre job as a waitress, her mother managed to make quite a name for herself as a lounge singer. In doing so, she got herself involved with the underground mafia group known only as Team Rocket. This was where she met Giovanni – And subsequently fell in love with him. The two became lovers of a kind, before Miss Avery’s sudden and mysterious disappearance. After the war’s end, having gained the position of mayor, Giovanni took Evangeline herself in to replace the role her mother played. Evangeline said yes – But that didn’t mean anything. You just didn’t say no to Giovanni; there was no love in their ‘relationship’, just protection from whatever Giovanni would do to keep her in line. Unlike her mother, Evangeline’s loyalty lay elsewhere. In her mother’s stead, and the supposed ‘peace’ that followed the war, Evangeline also became a lounge singer. As Giovanni’s ‘girl’ and a famous singer, it seems Evangeline has taken after her mother in several ways.
Legal alignment: Lawful

Pokémon’s Papers

First Pokémon (primary partner)
Name: Angelina
Species: Mawile
Gender: Female
Type: Steel
Physical description: Angelina is a fairly regular Mawile – The biggest distinctive feature she has is a deep, violet bow tied to its head; a keepsake from its previous owner.
Met: Evangeline’s mother apparently met it late at night in Sinnoh.
Brief personality description: As Mawile are wont to be, Angelina is curious, playful and cheeky. However, the fun ends when she feels Evangeline is in danger – though not her original owner, Angelina is incredibly protective of Evangeline.
Relationship with trainer: Angelina is the only thing Evangeline has to remember her mother by – She used to belong to Miss Avery, and was left to Evangeline the day before she disappeared. Though it took a while for the two to get along, they eventually formed a bond that couldn’t be broken. They’re both deathly protective of one another, willing to do anything in their power to stop the other from being hurt.
Move Set:
[Crunch] [Fake Tears]
[Sucker Punch][Iron Defense]

Second Pokémon (secondary partner)
Name: Marlisa
Species: Gardevoir
Gender: Female
Type: Psychic
Physical description: Marlisa is taller than the average Gardevoir, and has a blue bow around its neck.
Met: Evangeline met Marlisa as a Ralts, foraging around in an alleyway for food, just outside the restaurant she used to wait at. Knowing how sought after Hoenn Pokemon were (and not in any legal sort of way), she decided to catch her and keep her safe.
Brief personality description: Marlisa is a perfect foil to Angelina – Whereas Angelina is cheeky and playful, Marlisa is calm, collected and gentle. While willing to partake in play activities, she doesn’t take to rough and tumble things like Angelina does.
Relationship with trainer: Having known each other for a long time, Marlisa and Evangeline are very good companions. While Angelina rushes to help her trainer, Marlisa prefers to stay back and calmly evaluate things – Though she’s just as protective of her saviour and owner as Angelina is.
Move Set: (No moves post-Gen IV.)
[Psychic] [Magical Leaf]
[Future Sight] [Teleport]

Third Pokémon
Name: Isabella
Species: Froslass
Gender: Female
Type: Ice/Ghost
Physical description: Isabella is actually a little smaller and thinner than your average Froslass, and wears a blue scarf.
Met: When Evangeline was young, her mother caught a Snorunt for her – She enjoyed playing with it, until one day while they were out, Isabella dug up a Dawn Stone in the snow. Coming into contact with it caused her to evolve into a Froslass. As a result of it, the once-playful and curious Isabella became haughty and cold. Though she still cared for it, Evangeline found it hard to get along with the new Isabella, and they eventually drifted apart.
Brief personality description: In a word, Isabella is haughty. She gives off a cold, elegant air that makes her rather hard to approach, and even harder to be friendly with. However, Evangeline and Isabella do care for each other, and Isabella certainly wouldn’t stand by and let her trainer be hurt.
Relationship with trainer: Isabella and Evangeline have a difficult time getting along. Evangeline loves Isabella deep down, but she can’t help but miss the happy-go-lucky Snorunt she played with as a child.
Move Set: (No moves post-Gen IV.)
[Icy Wind] [Ominous Wind]
[Wake-Up Slap] [Hail]

Fourth Pokémon
Name: Esmeralda
Species: Roselia
Gender: Female
Type: Grass/Poison
Physical description: On the outside, Esmeralda is a perfectly healthy Roselia. However, Esmeralda’s problem is not on the outside – Quite the opposite, Esemeralda’s flowers are bright and healthy, and she proudly wears an azure scarf around her left wrist.
Met: Evangeline met Esmeralda rather recently – Seeing her standing out in the tall grass, staring wistfully into the sky, Evangeline believed her to be a mysterious, elegant Pokemon. Then she tried to catch it. None of Angelina’s attacks seemed to phase it, so after a while Evangeline simply threw a ball at it. Bouncing against its head, that one Pokeball was all it took to capture Esmeralda. This made Evangeline feel proud – Esmeralda obviously chose Evangeline as her trainer, and didn’t need to fight back, obviously! This wasn’t exactly accurate...
Brief personality description: There is no beating around the bush here – Esmeralda is not smart. Esmeralda is actually a rather dim, airheaded Roselia. What Evangeline thought was mysterious elegance was really one of what was to be many periods of spacing out and staring off into space that Esmeralda would go through. By all means, Esmeralda is not a bad Pokemon – She tries her hardest and puts her all into every fight. Unfortunately, her all is just not very much. She really is not the brightest bulb in the garden.
Relationship with trainer: Esmeralda has an almost childlike affection for her training, trying everything she can to impress Evangeline; unfortunately, ‘everything she can’ rarely includes effective fighting. Through no malicious intentions, Esmeralda often ignores her trainer’s orders to try dancing for Evangeline, or practising her whistling, or even producing some nice scents from her flowers. While she is fairly good in battle, it is often a complete fluke.
Move Set: (No moves post-Gen IV.)
[Giga Drain] [Petal Dance]
[Grass Whistle] [Aromatherapy]

All this seems perfectly good and holy. I know levels won't be a roleplaying construct in here, I was just referring to a Pokemon's 'natural' movepool. Anyway, I look forward to putting up a character, probably tonight. C:

Working on it now, would it be okay to have a shiny or a pokemon with something different about them? IE An Electabuzz with a different pattern or slightly larger than average Wigglytuff just for cosmetics nothing special about them.

I have specifically said no shiny pokémon. You can have pokémon with different garb or defining physical features (ie being smaller, larger or fatter), but not of a different colour or pattern (unless, like Spinda, that pattern is unique to each Pokémon.)

Have you read the entire post? All your questions will hopefully be answered there.

"You can't have shinies, however, nor can you have legendary Pokémon, even if it's the sort of legendary in which there might be more than one."

Found it... Shamefully

Yes. I think my eyes skipped over it and saw Lengedary more and the part after it. Whoops

Trainer’s Papers

Trainer name: Darwin Cranor
Gender: Male
Date of Birth [Age]: December 4th, 1900 (23)
Region of Origin: Johto
Physical description: Short (5’7), thin build, Green eyes, golden curled hair, dresses in quasi-formal attire
Occupation during war: Wartime Journalist for the Johto/Kanto newsletters
Post-War Occupation: Columnist for local publications, journalist, and critic
Brief Biography: Born in Johto to a loving family, Darwin was the only child of the household. Always an intuitive and intelligent student, he focused on writing for much of his life. Though shy and introverted, he always seemed to keep an open mind when it came to interaction. In 1917, on his 17th Birthday, he decided to enlist as a journalist for the Johto/Kanto military efforts over Orre. He was soon dispatched to various areas, some zones of live combat, and was honorably discharged in 1923 when the war officially was over. Now he has moved into Goldenrod to settle into civilian life once again.
Legal alignment: Lawful

Pokémon’s Papers

First Pokémon (primary partner)
Name: Ether
Species: Espeon
Gender: Female
Type: Psychic
Physical description: Prefers to wear a thin, jade-encrusted collar around her neck when in public
Met: Originally met as a newly hatched Eevee his father brought home as a birthday present, Darwin met his first pokemon at a young age at his home in Johto.
Brief personality description: Ether is distrusting of other people, and is usually unwilling to cooperate without Darwin there to help. She is extremely loyal to her owner, and will literally sacrifice her own life to save his. She has jealous tendencies when around other pokemon.
Relationship with trainer: While Darwin and Ether were inseparable as children, their relationship went beyond typical trainer-pokemon stereotypes when Darwin entered the war. He took his beloved Eevee and had her registered as his companion, even though she had not been trained for combat. On July 15th, 1922, the area Darwin was sent to report on was suddenly barraged by the enemy, separating Darwin from the combat troop he was reporting with. For two days, Darwin hid in a cave with little hope of rescue. He planned on releasing Ether to the wilds beyond to ensure her safety, but she stood firm, not leaving her owner even when she had a chance to be free. At the dawn of the third day, as the sun rose in the distance, an enemy scout located their position. In his terror, Darwin grabbed a stone in preparation for what could be his last moments. The enemy raised his weapon, but before he could fire, Ether jumped from behind, tackling the foe to the ground. The man was quick to grab Ether and counterattack. As he watched his companion fight for not only her life, but his as well, Darwin snatched the gun from the cave ground and prepared to fire. In a brief instant he forgot about his fears, and he fired the gun. As the man fell, he too collapsed on the wall, slumping into a balled heap of tears. He looked over the corpse at the battered Ether, barely breathing and in need of medical help. He walked over to her, gently picked her up, and slouched back into the wall. With the last of the three-day’s rations he had on him and his limited medical supplies, he attempted to nurse her to a stable state. Finally, as the sun began to set, Ether awoke in Darwin’s arms outside of the cave. Darwin, who had all but given up hope looked to his Eevee and swore he would defend her to the death. This brief moment of heartfelt sincerity from her life-long friend in the presence of the waning sun prompted Eevee’s time, and she evolved into a Espeon, much to Darwin’s surprise. They left the cave and successfully snuck back into allied territory, where Espeon was properly taken care of.
Moveset:
[Future Sight] [Morning Sun]
[Quick Attack][Psychic]

Second Pokémon (secondary partner)
Name: Wes
Species: Beedrill
Gender: Male
Type: Bug/Poison
Physical description: Wes is just a bit taller than most Beedrill, but not so much so that he looms or towers
Met: During one of his expeditions in the homeland between conflicts, Darwin had been tasked with interviewing a professor in order to obtain some knowledge on his thoughts about various militarized poison pokemon. After the interview, Darwin took an interest himself in the bug-typed pokemon; specifically, he was interested in the evolution chains of Weedle and Caterpie. After a tour of the facility labs and synthetic Beedrill hive, the professor offered Darwin a Kakuna that the Beedrill rejected due to its unusual size. Though it was distrustful of humans and antisocial, it quickly came to like Darwin, and soon evolved into a Beedrill within a week of being under Darwin’s care. When brought back for analysis, the other Beedrill still payed no mind to Wes and so the professor left him in Darwin’s care, stating it would be “Better for all of us.”
Brief personality description: Wes is energetic, passionate about training, and very sharp. Despite his upbringing, Wes has blossomed into a powerful addition to Darwin’s party.
Relationship with trainer: Wes and Darwin have bonded since meeting, now becoming Darwin’s go-to pokemon for dangerous battles or situations. Wes has become something of a trump-card in Darwin’s repertoire, and because of that Darwin’s confidence in Wes almost borders indomitable.
Moveset:
[Twineedle] [Toxic Spikes]
[Agility][Rage]

Third Pokémon
Name: Ezel
Species: Sneasel
Gender: Male
Type: Dark/Ice
Physical description: Bears a deep scar along the back, unknown in origin
Met: Upon killing the Sinnoh scout, Darwin caught sight of a pokeball on his belt. Inscribed in golden letters upon it was the name, “Ezel”. When he returned to safety, he opened it and for the first time met Ezel.
Brief personality description: Ezel is naturally sly and often devious. His outwardly arrogant persona leads him to be limited socially, only associating with those he happens to like. He is not always happy with Darwin, rather he tolerates his trainer because he must, but he does seem to have strong feelings for Ether.
Relationship with trainer: When initially meeting Darwin, Ezel was confused and frustrated. He did not know what to do about losing his first trainer, but he seemed to adapt quite quickly after the initial turmoil. He still does not completely like Darwin, but he seems to have developed a unique chemistry with Ether. He often attempts to impress her when possible, and is the only pokemon he associates with in Darwin’s party.
Moveset:
[Punishment] [Brick Break]
[Steel Claw][Agility]

Fourth Pokémon
Name: Mago
Species: Pichu
Gender: Female
Type: Electric
Physical description: Mago can be distinguished from other pichu by her fondness for soft, silky material. As such she wears a beautiful red ribbon around the base of her right ear.
Met: More recently, in Viridian Forest on the way to Viridian City for an interview, Darwin encountered the young Pichu battling with a Pikachu over what seemed to be a small pile of berries. Of course, the more experienced Pikachu left the match as the victor, but Darwin didn’t take any interest in him but rather the slightly-injured Pichu. She gave resistance, but Darwin decided not to battle the Pichu in hopes of coaxing her to join him. In the end, he offered her a handful of berries, which seemed to be all that was necessary. Darwin named the Pichu after her favorite berry, the Mago Berry.
Brief personality description: Mago is cheery, kind, social, curious, and often downright silly- almost to a self-destructive level. Though she can be clever at times, Mago has had a tendency to take things into her own hands, especially when she has a personal strife with others. She has a blatant distaste for Ezel.
Relationship with trainer: Though she is Darwin’s latest companion, the two have a unique fondness for each other. Mago’s blissful attitude and steadfast courage seems to motivate both her teammates and trainer alike. It was that courageous aura about her that caught Darwin’s eye in the first place.

Hone Claws and Wild Charge are both Generation V moves, and therefore cannot be used (we're adhering to Gen IV and before), but otherwise it looks good! I like it!
Save for the fact you constantly refer to the character as "Dante", which confused me somewhat.
Also, do war time journalists generally fight on the battlefield? Although I'm no military buff, I was under the impression they simply wrote about war-significant events and sent them back home to be published.

I don't know what I was thinking when I typed "Dante" (Whoops! That's pretty embarrassing) and I should have been more careful with the move choices. My apologies! I have fixed everything and it should look a lot better. Again, so sorry.
And in some cases journalists have been put with troops out in war-zones, with the idea that they can get a better idea of what is actually going on when compared to what is being reported back, edited, and then cropped into the media. Though these articles were often subjected to heavy censorship anyways, they did bring light to the media as first hand accounts. These people were called "War correspondents".

Ah, I'm familiar with war correspondents! I'm just under the impression that they never fought in battles themselves, whereas Ezel's origin story would suggest that he had. Or am I misinterpreting that?

Trainer’s Papers
Trainer name: Caleb Pierce
Gender: Male
Date of Birth: January 5th 1900, 23 Years old.
Region of Origin: Hoenn
Physical description: Caleb appears older than his actual age, his face appears tired by the war and his eyes give off the impression that behind this young face an older gentleman sits. Caleb himself used to be an energetic, happy child before being sent off to battle. Witnessing things in war changed him and aged him much like it did everyone else who was on the frontlines. While Caleb is thankful he is alive everyday he can't help but feel guilt from the past, actions he could've taken to prevent less causalities and possibly preserve some friends.
Occupation during war: Soldier.
Post-War Occupation: Runs his family's Herb Shop, located in the Goldenrod underground.
Brief Biography: Caleb grew up in Fortree where it was common to interact with completely wild Pokemon. He saw the brutalities of everyday life and the reality of how things existed in the Pokemon world. His entire family ran a herb shop existing in Fortree, where he learned how to use natural items to relieve a variety of symptoms. Growing up in this environment all Caleb wanted was to raise and breed strong Pokemon, his love for them only increased when his father managed to buy him a Cubone for his tenth birthday. From then on the boy and his new partner explored the vast wilderness around them, the thirst for adventure inside him flourished within this time of his life. It wasn't until he was eighteen that Caleb happily enlisted in Hoenn's military to help the war effort, realizing quickly it was a mistake. While he feels no regret for joining, Caleb was left with a void of misery that will hangover him like a dark cloud forever.
Legal alignment: Lawful
