Perhaps in the ensuing chaos? Alloy is about to wreak some serious havoc on a few machines to get to his partner. He's bound to draw a bit of attention if he starts crumpling machines up like balls of paper. I know it seems a bit weak as a reason, so if anyone has a better suggestion i'm open.
