Magical Ability: Blaze Burst: Anette is able to vastly increase her speed, whether in flight or on foot, for short periods of time. However, if she uses it for longer than a short burst, she will quickly find herself becoming exhausted. This is what allows her to use her shield as a battering ram.

Animal Familiar: European Rabbit

Personality: At first glance, one of the best ways to describe Anette would be as a strange, silly goofball with an utter lack of any kind of sense whatsoever. It's rather miraculous, most people would think, that she's even on the front lines at all with her silly attitude. Anette tends towards making strange comments, especially about her fellow witches, and has an almost eternally-optimistic viewpoint of the war. She feels like no matter how bad things get, there's no way that they'll ever let the Neuroi win. Unfortunately, this means she has a tendency to goof around... absolutely whenever she gets the chance. Anette thinks that it hurts to be serious all the time, so if there's ever a chance to act more silly and bright, it should be taken. However, there is a sharp contrast between this and her attitude when she has entered combat. Not only is she focused, but she's on fire. Anette burns with the desire to take down Neuroi and cover her fellow Witches. She's there to help win this war, and that's what she's going to do! It's such a shocking contrast that people who don't know her well are often surprised by the shift. In spite of her goofball attitude whenever she has the chance, or her burning spirit in combat, Anette can quickly be flustered in certain scenarios.

Bio/History: A fairly new Witch, Anette earned attention when one of her moves in her first dogfight was to ram the Neuroi using her shield, destroying a large portion of its body and allowing the other Witches to destroy its core. This is what got her assigned to the 509th.

WIP. ^^; I am very stuck on backstory, rank, and magical ability.

After rewatching the series, I think Strike Witches are supposed to start as Sergeant before being commissioned as they get older... which probably means I should change mine >>;

Yeah I noticed that, but honestly figured it really didn't matter that much as long as new/experienced recruits weren't high ranking soldiers/officers (unless they are new graduates from officer schools or something). Oh and not to mention that while usually all pilots are officers, tank teams are made up of corporals, privates, and sergeants, so I think you're good unless you really want to change it.

In terms of background, newbies and greenhorns are highly favored! But here are some points that may go hand in hand with the personality:

Gallia was previously occupied by the Neuroi, essentially the nation is in ruin and its populate is heavily displaced or dead. Not to mention that since it was very recently liberated, the people of the nation are only just coming back to their homeland. So maybe she lost a parent or friend to the Neuroi invasion when she was too young to fight (They invaded in early 1940 and only just been liberated in late 1944) or something along those lines. In other words, take advantage of the nation of origin's recent history (just think France post Normandy campaign only worse off)

Yeah, we have cases like Francesca being an officer at 12/13.

Hmm, right. Need to work out a way to use that in a way that fits with her personality.

Also do want to have her have participated in one dogfight, but that's it.

... Where she may have done something a little crazy but yeah.

Alright, looks like we got a 3 Sky Witches once Anette is finished and a good number of Land Witches. Once we get at least one or two more Sky Witches then I think we can get this ball rolling! Oh and does any of the Land Witches wish to be the "Squad Leader" aka the third in command of the 509th?

Hmmm, so... WIP I guess. Hopefully it's okay so far. ^^; I like the sound of the power you suggested, although I'm not sure if it really works well with how the character turned out. Hmmm. ...Also I need to figure out backstory somehow.

• Name: Odilia Dirkschneider
• Age: 18
• Appearance: Something like this.
• Nation: Imperial Government of Karlsland
• Rank: Stabsfeldwebel/Master Sergeant
• Striker Unit: Messerscharf Bf 109 G-6

• Weapon: Fliegerfaust B, MP40 submachine gun. Carries a Luger LP08 long barreled "Artillery" model as a sidearm.

• Magical Ability: Havoc Bullet - Odilia can enhance the velocity of her projectiles, allowing extreme piercing capabilities. This allows her to drill shots through thick armor, or even pierce the body of a Neuroi with a missile before it explodes. The increase in speed is proportional to that of the original projectile's; the faster it would originally have been moving, the greater the increase in velocity. Whilst she usually uses this ability in conjunction with her weaponry, any projectile she uses can be made to benefit from this up to and including random objects thrown by hand.

• Animal Familiar: Grasshopper

• Personality: Boisterous, funloving and very friendly, Odilia tries her best to act like a big sister to others, hoping that her confidence will rub off onto them. And she has a lot to rub off; no matter what the situation or how dire things may be, she will always remain convinced that she will come out on top eventually. This isn't arrogance, though, it's more that she just refuses to give up no matter what. If anything, her most notable character trait is her sheer, pigheaded stubborness.

Odilia wears her heart on her sleeve and is very protective of those she cares about, although she's not a fan of violence and will only resort to it if there's no other option; however, this only applies to humans, as she will go all out against the Neuroi. Odilia can be a bit of a tease, though, especially to her best friends. She's known to be rather flirty, although she knows to hold back and show respect where respect is due, especially towards her superior officers. Odilia tries her best to get to know her fellow Witches, as she believes that if they all get to know and trust each other they will work better as a unit. However, she's rather fond of beer, and has been known to try and get the other Witches to join her for drinks so she can get to know them better; whilst for the older Witches this is not so much of a problem, she's tried on several occassions to invite underage Witches out drinking with her.

• Bio/History: A Witch of above average ability hailing from Karlsland, who previously served on the Gallian front before being transferred to the 509th. Whilst she isn't the absolute best Karlsland has to offer, she still has quite a bit of combat experience and her fair share of kills under her belt, although her boasts that she will one day surpass Erica Hartmann's record are nothing but hot air. Due to her abilities as a Witch, she is most often placed in a heavy bombardment role in combat, a role she has came to embrace rather enthusiastically.

Errrr.... hmmm....... I'm going to go with no..... That's a can of worms I would rather not open, but if you have some sort of clever way of doing, (maybe like she can't generate shields or something) then PM me about it and we can discuss it.

Not to leave you empty handed, I will allow foresight and short term fortune telling like that of Eila from the original show. Being able to be one step ahead of your enemy's attacks and such. Just a suggestion.

Awww... okay! I guess you'll be the later arrival.

Hmmmmm..... OH! I think one Witch from the series, Erica Hartmann, where essentially her shield would become pointed and harden and in a temporary boost of speed, fly straight through a Neuroi. So I would totally allow something along those lines with a cool name or something XD

No, that was Francesca. Erica had wind magic. (Which she used in the movie to punch a Neuroi so hard it exploded.)
