Ceyleigh didn't bother with the last flight of stairs, simply hopping the railing and then running out the door the moment her feet hit the ground, Zahara nodded to Lily and followed after Pakuna in a daze.

Jake took one of the smaller cars, driving to town and jumping out of the car once he got to the parking lot. "Cassie!" He yelled, running over.

Pakuna already had the car started. He refused to think, and when they were in the car, he was off.

Cassie looked up, taking her head out her hands "Jake!" She cried, she was pale and shaking, tears rolling down her cheeks, "I...I..."

Donovan reached the store, shifted forms, running across the parking lot, feet pounding, staring at the wreckage.

Someone stopped him as he tried to cross "that's my wife! Alyss! Alyss!"

Jake pulled her close and kissed the top of her head, trying not to look at the twisted and bloodied wreck. The fire department was only just now getting the truck cut open to pull Alyss out, once they finished, EMTs rushed over and loaded her onto a gurney, starting on CPR. "I know baby," He whispered to her.

"Go straight to the hospital dad," Ceyleigh said, calling Greyin's father and then the other werewolf doctors that worked at the local hospital.

Cassie couldn't help but watch, she whimoered, looking away as they took her out. Alyss was meant to be full of life, not limp, bloodied.

pakuna turned the wheel sharply towards the hospital

it took five people to hold Donovan back, to stop him running to Alyss.

The EMTs got Alyss breathing again and loaded her into the ambulance, driving to the hospital. Jake stroked Cassie's hair and reached over to Donovan, taking a firm hold on his arm. "Get in the Jeep, we're following them," He said. It wouldn't do for Donovan to run around in his wolf form, he'd likely be hit by a car with how busy the roads were.

Ceyleigh finished her calls and jumped out of the car once Pakuna had parked, running inside and going to get blood drawn.

Donovan didn't day anything, justnclimbed into the car.

Pakuna parked the car, not caring where, and got out

Jake helped Cassie in and then drove to the hospital, parking near the entrance.

Alyss was rushed into surgery just as Ceyleigh finished giving blood, the poor thing was slumped in a chair looking pale and even more exhausted.

Donovan didn't wait for tje car to stop when they reached the hospital, imstead leaping out the car, and bolting in. He would have torn the whole olace about, if he hadn't seen Pakuna, Zahara and ceyleigh.

Donovan had never seen that look on Pakunas face. Complete and utter fear. This, more than anything, stopped him in his tracks. He gave a great sigh, and went over to them. "Alyss is strong" he said softly.

Cassie waited for the xar to stop to get out

"Aly's always been a fighter, even as a baby," Ceyleigh said with a nod, munching on a cookie. Jake helped Cassie out and led her inside.

Pakuna nodded, but he stared down the hallway she had been taken, fearful. Donovan joined him.

"Anything?" Cassie asked

"Alyss was just taken into surgery, I gave as much blood as I could but it's not looking too good," Alyss said.

"It hit her head on..." cassie said softly, trailing off, sitting down, "they wouldn't let me near...she d-d-dropped me off. Maybe if she hadn't, the hummer wouldn't have hit"

"Cassie, don't you dare even say that," Greyin said, walking up having just gotten the news and rushed over since he was helping Nan out. "That Hummer was waiting for you two. It was just lucky Alyss dropped you off."

"Waiting?" Cassie said, "why?"

Pakuna sighed, sitting down head in his hands, shaking, anger and fear whirling within him. "Because you are my pack. Because someone is attacking elders. Because I am the next likely contender to repace elder Min"

Zahara looked at Pakuna in surprise. "You're being considered for an elder status?" She asked.

"Thats what you are focusing on?" Pakuna said, "yes, all pack leaders get considered for elder status"

"I didn't know that," Zahara muttered. "But why would they target Min and you? Why hurt the girls?"

Melanie walked up to the house with Alex following, holding her hand. "Hello?" She called, knocking on the door.

"Hurting Alyss hurts me. It isnt exactly a hiddennfact that my pack is a good way to get to me, and an even better way is to hurt my family" pakina said, "as for targeting elders...thats what the letter was about"

Lily opened the door, Auryn held in her arms, little Mark holding her hand, "Melanie" she said, seemingly surprised, the remembered they had been expecting her after all. "Oh. Oh, gods. Come in. The kids are all running around inside. I've got then all, you see. I have Lester, Lucan and Alec here, but even so, they are a handful." She was babbling, sje winced, stepping aside, shutting the door after them, "alyss has...theres been an accident"

Zahara nodded. "How soon until we start hunting this bastard down then?" She asked.

Melanie gave Lily a friendly smile and then it vanished when she heard about Alyss. "I'm so sorry Lily, is there any news about her yet?" She asked, stepping inside and letting Alex go to play with the other kids. "And I can call Victor if we need someone else here."

"Well, that wouod be great, then I can let Lester go and be with Ceyleigh" lily said
