Julius turned to see his former "oppressor",now acquaintance, Jason talking to Kyo, having lost interest in the main groups conversation his was now focusing on theirs.
"Alright boys and girls. Those of you that do not wish to be more many leave. I will deliver supper to your room." The the housekeeper states as she places a sandwich in Katherin's hands. "The rest of you may begin eatting."
Kyo wasn't sure if he had been asked the question before or not. He thought to review his notes, but realized that he hadn't labeled his conversations or even used names in any of them. By now, everyone was eating, anyway, so he shrugged and began to enjoy his soup. He noticed Jason looking at a picture of a girl, but didn't question it. It looked like a personal matter.
Julius waved back to Jason and then saw that he had the picture of his sister, not wanting to go back to that conversation before Julius looked down at his food and began eating.
When Cenhelm heard that, he decided to stay, as it was possible, though unlikely, that he might be able to make a friend or two. " Though, food first, friends later" he said in his mind. It had been about two days since he had eaten. He looked at the soup, then he started having it.
"Wonderful. I am glad you have all chosen to stay. I want you all to know that I have been in your shoes and understand your concerns and fears. Let me reassure you that the benefactor truly wants to help you make a place for yourselves in the world as he has." The housekeeper explains.
Jason gets up and walks to the hallway. He goes up the stairs and into Liz's room. Jason sits by her bed. "I'm sorry. I should not have made you do that. I'm sorry..."
"After dinner I want you all to think of who you would like to be your first partner. I would encourage you to make sure you have introduced yourself to the others." The housekeeper instructed those at the table. "At breakfast I want your chose of partners. Then we will have the demonstration for the benefactor."
Katherin listened to the others eating, but only picked at her sandwich. Although she was hungry, she wasn't completely convinced that she no longer had to worry about food. For now she planned to save some food just in case. She thought about the housekeepers words. She wondered who around her would opt out of interacting and what that choice would cost them. "The housekeeper is kind of intense isn't she?"
"Let's not all talk at once." Roxy said grumpily. She quickly downed her soup. It had been a couple of days since she had something decent to eat. It was nice not to have to worry about how to get food. The only question she had was what would this benefactor want for his generosity. Roxy had learned years ago that nothing was free.
