Remniche is a good starting point if your character isn't in the middle of a journey. My intro post should have hopefully described what the city is like. It'd also be good to form two or three separate search parties and do different things in Vivi-Dream rather than bunching everyone together into one. The objective behind any search, however, is to find an artifact and solve a mystery before the location's influence can potentially corrupt Vivi-Dream entirely. The mystery can involve one of your characters, or of Vivi-Dream itself. I'm not concerned with which at this time.

Ha, yeah, my character is a touch too dramatic… no matter, I was going more for madness/redemption… I'll keep any emo undertones under wraps as best I can. It's exciting to think about, what twists and turns will happen :D .

E: Also posting character sheet

Real World Name: Nicholas Kozlovsky
Age: 26
Real World Bio: Even as a young man, Nicholas is run down, counting down the days until he dies. He used to try to protect people, girls, boys, people who couldn't stand up for themselves… and then one day he failed, and that was that. He never saw that little girl again, or knew what happened to her - Nicholas could guess, of course, but he didn't want to think about it. As time went on he became weary, disillusioned, slowly starting a descent into lethargy and madness. One day, half out of his mind and starving, he slumped against a wall and collapsed. There, he began to dream. And what a dream it was…
(A protector, an idealist who was betrayed and sunk into despair and insanity. He fights like a berserker and is constantly starving and nearly incoherent. He needs some serious help, and cannot meet with the others at the Café for obvious reasons).

Oneiros Name: Black Knight

Oneiros Bio: Nicholas's appearance as an Oneiros is nothing like what his appearance is in the waking world. The Black Night is just a suit of armor - nothing resides inside of it but smoke and blackened flesh. Black smoke constantly radiates from him, and he appears like an off-focus photograph; it's hard to get a reading on what he looks like, since his image seems to double or triple at random, like a hallucination. Red light shines from his visor, and his voice is hard to comprehend, garbled and twisted as it sounds. The Black Knight has inhuman speed and strength, able to shatter concrete with a single strike. This is mostly due to insanity, as one of his powers dictates that the more insane he becomes, the stronger he gets. He has two abilities, one which, as mentioned, increases his strength as his sanity drains away. The second allows him to wield anything that he recognizes as a weapon and increase it's durability and power - the remains of a streetlight would become a powerful club or spear in his hands. Something that is not normally perceived as a weapon (like an actual streetlight and not just its remains) would be more difficult, and something that is completely removed from the concept of "weapon" would be impossible for the Black Knight to warp. He seeks to protect others as far as his twisted mind can understand the meaning of 'protecting others' anymore… the Black Knight fights like a berserker, and can barely understand the commands or words of others. One such as he is hard to understand in turn. Very, very strong in close quarters combat, though ranged combat is his downfall.

The Black Knight woke up in the ruins of a dark place at night time, beneath the stars. Overgrown by weeds and and plants, it was quiet and remote. He (more of an it, really) is drawn to what his waking self failed to do - protect. Though, as his soul is steeped in corruption and madness, such a thing has become hard to do. The Black Knight is a fearsome foe, but seems to be able to recognize an ally when it/he sees one. He appears as more of a specter, for now, but who knows what might set him off?

Okay! I made a post, sorry it took me so long I got really caught up in a game I've been playing. I'll try to check throughout the day if I can. I hope you don't mind my post, I've not written or roleplayed in a year or two so I'm a bit out of it and it's very wordy if not roundabout. But I was trying to incorporate a dreamlike feeling. Shorter posts (a paragraph or two) from me from here on out though probably. Anyway it's 3AM, I can't wait to see what happens!

Due to the latest story post, I need to mention that this story is written in past tense. Please keep it consistent for the compilation.

If Alexander's tea drinking is what makes him British, then I take offence to that. Even though it's true xD.

I'd like to discard Mischief in favour of this character instead, if that'd be at all possible. I haven't made an IC post yet so I expect it'll be fine:

Real World Name: Daniel Griffon

Age: 23

Real World Bio: Daniel's a librarian. He studies literature and assists at the library as a bookkeeper.

Oneiro's Name: Harahel (Angel of Knowledge)

Appearance: He has short black hair and crustal blue eyes on pale, almost glowing skin. He wears a long black trench coat, trousers, and a pair of black boots. He carries a book strapped over his shoulder to his chest that he keeps safe at all times, with no reason why. For some reason he feels the need to protect the book at the cost of his own life. In order to protect this book he carries a falcata, a middle eastern short sword. He has long feathered, white, wings.

Oneiro's Bio: Harahel wanders through Vivi-dream with no home of his own. He is distant and difficult to approach, yet kind-hearted and benevolent. However, he is extremely protective of his book, which he has never opened, and never intends to. He believes the book contains all knowledge in the universe, and that to open it would be considered a terrible sin, for in the wrong hands the knowledge he believes is held within his book could spell disaster.

Ah, unfortunately I think I'll have to step out of the story now, while it's still without weave.
It must have gone over my head to write in past tense and honestly it is one of my weaker areas. I can crank out four or five quick paragraphs like my last post in a few minutes but past tense correction is definitely going to encroach upon my other obligations. In addition to this, I can't shake some uncomfortable feelings about this, but that's probably just me.

I wish you all the best!

Sorry if things didn't work out for you. I hope for the best in your future RPing.

After some PMing and brainstorming, I've updated the first post with a more tightened storyline and adjusted the rules a bit. Please review the first post for these updates.

If you guys have anything you wish to add or question, please let me know before we get things underway. To be honest, I just made up this storyline during the weekend and it needs serious polishing. Instead of a vague adventure story with little conclusion in sight, I've made it so Vivi-Dream is suffering from an excess of negative locations that could affect the dreamers in the real world via mental illnesses or personality disorders should these adventures not be undertaken. Any thoughts or concerns with this? I need to work on the wording of this outline as well so it's not confusing, but I think this is more concise than before.

EDIT: *wipes brow* Phew. I'm done editing the first post for tonight, so please read it over.

Some questions were PM'ed to me that required public answers.

So assuming this all works like an encounter, I assume anyone that's not partying with you has to essentially run their own adventure? For instance, if me and two others joined up and decided to investigate some strange fantasy zone, it would be up to us to decide how it goes along, yeah? In which case, I assume we should stick to having it be individual artifacts about some random nutter rather than hints at the 'plot'. Well, you could let us investigate plot important places, but you would either have to provide one person with something relevant to present at the end, or just allow us to make stuff up, which would take the story out of your hands a little.

That sounds about right. I'll handle anything about the 'plot' later and give you guys the heads up as to what I'm hinting towards in story (read below for some prelim ideas). For now, yes, we would form parties D&D style and investigate different areas to find artifacts related to one character's history, thus cleansing the location. For now, I want us to focus on character development and making our characters closer to each other in preparation for the finale. So you and a fellow RP'er or two or three or whatever can figure out what you guys want to investigate, while I would do the same with different RP'ers. From the number of characters we have, there may need to be two or three parties going at once. We might repeat this process a few times as long as the investigations are kept short, or we could expand this concept into finding multiple artifacts in one location to save time.

Yes, these separate investigations will involve taking some of the story out of my hands, but I will monitor what's going on via the compilation and raise any concerns as I see them.

By the way, how do physical matters work in Vivi-Dream, anyway? Are Oneiros capable of feeling pain, losing limbs, bleeding and even dying? Or is that all handwaved by it just being a dream? Assuming an Oneiros could be killed by a monster, is it permanent, or does it just do something like making the dreamer wake up in a cold sweat and just having to go to sleep again to put the Oneiros back in the Vivi-Dream?

I'm not fond of the whole 'die in the dream, die in the real world' concept, so I propose that while Oneiros can feel pain and bleed like in real life, if a monster 'kills' them during a battle, the Oneiros is 'kicked out' of Vivi-Dream and the dreamer wakes up from a horrible nightmare. They could go back to sleep and re-enter Vivi-Dream, but they would have to restart at Remniche, leaving the rest of the party to handle the monsters. If this happens to all of the party members, the mission is a failure and another group would need to handle the monsters before the location can corrupt Vivi-Dream entirely.

Yes, I've thought of what happens to a 'killed' Oneiros if the person is in a coma, since they can't wake up from their nightmare. Those who are comatose would immediately restart at Remniche rather than awakening, but they need some time to heal their injuries and get over the shock of 'dying', thus they wouldn't be able to immediately re-adventure. As the story progresses, I'll have Lin explain these facts to your characters and have her distribute information pamphlets to those she and Hez won't meet right away.

You could think of this whole setup as an MMO, with dead party members reloading in the capital city. In fact, I hope to lean Vivi-Dream towards a secret nanomachine program that interconnects people's brains much like how the Internet connects computers. The negative emotions would be equivalent to viruses, and the Oneiros would function like anti-virus programs. If the viruses in Vivi-Dream aren't repaired, the entire network would be infected, and that would harm everyone's brains directly.

Gosh guys, I'm really sorry about this but I want to make another change to my rp character.

This is an updated character sheet for him. The changes are few and far between and most of it is in relation to his rl counterpart.

Real World Name: Daniel Griffon

Age: 23

Real World Bio: Daniel used to be a librarian until he was forced to leave after being disgraced due to the discovery of a large alcohol and gambling problem. Some days he would turn up to work drunk and was eventually fired due to his behaviour. Since then, Daniel has cleaned up the alcoholism and gone sober, but gambling remains a large problem for him. He recently lost all of his money on a poker game and is huge debt related financial troubles and is likely to lose his home.

Oneiro's Name: Harahel (Angel of Knowledge)

Appearance: He has short black hair and crystal blue eyes on pale, almost glowing skin. He wears a cowl and a leather tunic topped with several plates of segmented Armour on the shoulders. Over this tunic he wears a book strapped to his upper right chest by a strap that goes around the shoulder like that of a quiver. He wears brownish trousers, and a pair of black boots. In order to protect this book he carries a falcata, an Iberian short sword adopted in the middle east.

Oneiro's Bio: Harahel wanders through Vivi-dream with no home of his own. He is distant and difficult to approach, yet kind-hearted and benevolent. However, he is extremely protective of his book, as it contains all of he intends to use it to write down all of his gathered intelligence on Vivi-dream. Harahel seeks to gain as much knowledge about Vivi-dream as he can, and thus he enjoys embarking on quests to search the different realms of Vivi-dream to gather as much intelligence as he can. He will not be satisfied until he knows all he can know about it.

Again, sorry about that, :3

New question; are these locations all supposed to be based on a PC's mind? Or could it also be someone random? I figure if it's a PC's location, then that PC would probably have to be the one to handle how the encounter plays out.

They're based on the dreamers' psyche, but if it's too hard for us to investigate each others' self-made dungeons, we can always base these dungeons on random people. The museum that Hez and Lin manage could have artifacts based on these random people.

I had a brainstorm this morning that some dreamers do manifest in Vivi-Dream, but only as bad locations and not as Oneiros. For some reason, they aren't able to manifest as Oneiros. This can help us create dungeons without restricting each other, as well as explain the in-story influx of negative locations and monsters - because there are too many people in Vivi-Dream creating bad locations, and a critical shortage of Oneiros to deal with them.

Might have Erebus follow hex and Lin just making funny noises and knocking stuff over.
Anyone want to work with dice?
Oh! If anyone wants a vauge idea of dice's home 'world' just think death maze where logical dimensions don't matter.
