The correct phrasing would have been "on your ego."

Also, mammal is more convenient and supposedly I use it more often when displeased.

That depends on if someone claims it.

If it is not claimed, then it will not be hard to think of some excuse for why that area is not colonized. Unfriendly aliens? Tons of radiation? Little to no resources?

I personally like the idea that it has a race of its own, which is simply pushing back all attempts to move in.
