Yes but these agents would have been suspicious. They want to mislead any potential pet of the scientists, it includes making suspected pets a decoy going off to a... But it is calming down which means less confusion and more capabilities for character building and interaction

to all those who have gotten confused please note that it has calmed down and will stay calm for a long period of time. You can always hop back in the next morning. I apologize for all the choas, but as stated it will stay calm for awhile now.

Oh the tunnel isn't too wide, just about fits a train and two people either side of the train in very uncomfortable positions. Or a smaller platform and space for five people... Those spikes are designed to be temporary after all, one train whizzing by them and snap many times over.
