I thought there were more than two players. I'll try to post tonight, though.

Quick question: how large is this robot? As big as the one that attacked Metroville, or the one Bob fought on the island? Somewhere in between?

It's a slightly modified version of the one that attacked the city.

OK, we need to talk about this.

It has been over a month since our GM has made an IC post without being poked first.

In some games, GM activity isn't so critical, and players can drive the game themselves without so much input from the GM. This is not one of those games. In a game like this one, continued input from the GM is critical to the RP's success. And it isn't happening here. Hence, this conversation. If we talk about it, maybe we can fix things.

Some games die off in a slow, all-around slowdown as the frequency of posts just tails off into nothing. Not so here. I think it's fair to say that we have three active, dedicated players who very much want to keep going and consistently post in a timely manner. I myself would really like to see this game flourish, and I'm willing to put some effort into that. I'd like to hear if others see things similarly.

Sometimes real life gets in the way of games. That's unavoidable, and it needs to take priority. It's unfortunate when players have to leave and a game dies without them, but that's the way things are. I don't think that's what is happening here. The Unknowable seems to be posting quite frequently in other threads on this site, just not this one.
Which leads me to the question, Unknowable, do you want to be playing this game? If not, say so and I'll stop bugging you to post. There's no point forcing it and that's a dead horse I don't want to beat.

But if you do still want to play, some things will need to change. There are a few ways that might look. We could try bringing in new players to drive activity between GM posts, or appointing Co-GMs to share the load and create the plot. I'm not demanding a post every day, but there are a number of ways we could address the issue.

So, what do you all think? Perspectives, suggestions, rebuttals? I apologise if this post has seemed a little harsh. My main goal here is to understand the issues holding the game back so that we can all enjoy RPing together.

@DFTBAI don't understand why you can't just play it without my constant input. It's an enemy from the movie that we all watched, we are just battling it as a way to start the rp. Everyone should know that it is a serious foe, and have some idea what it can and can't do. You can control the npcs.too, if you want. The only character you can't control is the player characters that aren't yours

I assumed that we coul only post once or twice a week on this rp so that is how I was posting on it. If you want me to post more often, tell me.

This is the first time players have actually shown more interest in an RP than I do (other than that one person who responds to everyone type players) so you can have it.

I made DFTBA the co-gm and I'll send them everything I had planned.

Well it is one thing to drive the plot ourselves and say whether something succeeded or not in a non-combat, non-plot situation. I mean sure, we CAN operate without a GM input on it, but then what is stopping my character from magnetizing to the surface of the bot and scrambling the computer core? Per your post, it has countermeasures for things, so I would think it safe to assume that the core would be shielded and that it wouldn't be effective. However, we just don't know.

I like the idea of this RP, but it is terribly slow. I was starting to contemplate giving up on it. Seeing the GM give up on it reinforces that idea.

So, I don't know, I can keep playing, or I could give it up. I'm fine either way.

On that note: I'm going to be with limited access for a few days, so sorry if I don't respond immediately to a prompt.

Rage has a good point here. It's difficult for non-GMs to go writing potentially plot-sensitive posts without knowing the hidden details of said plots. We can't write that ourselves for fear of needing to redact it. I also think it's a little more fun that way.

Speed of posting, wasn't really the core issue here, I think, just the need to be poking the GM to do their job every week or so. However, it seems that's going to be less relevant from here on out because...

After sending me the plot plans, The Unknowable stepped down as GM, wanting just to be a player for a while. That leaves me, as the Co-GM for all of 2 days, suddenly steering the ship. I'll take on the job, so expect an omnidroid post soon, but I beg you to give me a little time to acquaint myself with the plot and get things together behind the scenes. Once I have that, posting should resume as normal, probably 2-3 times per week, or as the situation demands.

Are you still talking for this RP? If so would you have any issuses with a shadow manipulation (which would include shadow travel, have like a demon like shadow form and something akin to he Shadow jutsu from Naruto) or if thats not acceptable then have him as a 'Cartoonist' as in he can interact with things as if he was a cartoon character (like the powers from Loki's Mask in the mask as well as become a living painting like link in a link between worlds?)

@Vetis

Yes, we could still accept another character.

With regards to the powers, I'll reserve judgement. I'm not familiar with the examples you gave, so just write up a description of the power(s) you want to use (what they do, how they work, the limitations, etc) and we'll go from there.

welp, speaking of death rattles... I think it's time to call this quits. Even the potential fresh blood didn't get a cs up in a timely fashion. Sorry guys, but I'm out.
